Hamlet Essay Topic 2. As the son of a murdered noble, Hamlet is obligated to avenge the death of his
father. It was the many losses faced by Hamlet in his life filled with extreme tragedies that forced him
to avenge his father s death from Claudius . In Hamlet , a play by William Shakespeare; the
protagonist, Hamlet throughout the play is perceived to be mad however Hamlet s insanity was more
than an act. Hamlet s father s ghost sent him on a mission to kill Claudius to avenge his death, he tried
to go but he kept hesitating back and forth. It was not that he was unfaithful, and he did not want to do
it, but he was not done thinking it out. Every time he was about to do the deed ... Show more content

The spirit I have seen may be a Devil. (2.2.565) Once again, he is questioning whether or not to do it.
He is trying to get all of the facts out and trying to see if the ghost is really king hamlet and not a evil
spirit trying to trick him into killing Claudius. Hamlet really does want revenge even though he is
procrastinating a lot. I have cause, and will, and strength, and means/ To do t . It is possible to argue
that Hamlet has no opportunity to effect revenge the King is obviously well guarded but Hamlet
himself says that he is able to fulfill his purpose. It is clear that Hamlet is not denied his revenge by
mere practicalities; he has the opportunity, for example, to kill Claudius while he is at prayer, when he
may do it. Hamlet delays in killing Claudius not only because he is suffering from an Oedipal
complex but also because he is far too sane or practical to commit an act of murder. Basically sanity is
keeping him from killing his uncle. Hamlet is like a soldier that is thrown into a war where he has to
do some things he rather would not do, but under certain circumstances he bites his teeth and carries

Why The Collapse Of Patron And Broker
The Collapse of Patron and Broker
Throughout the 19th century, American government on the local, state, and federal level all utilized
patronage to amass political support in exchange for jobs and distributive goods. However, as the
century came to an end, there was a shift from this tradition to one that slowly transformed
bureaucracy from a spoils system to one of merit. There are many competing theories on why this
civil service reform emerged the way it did in the United States. Different test subjects were
investigated how and why merit penetrated the bureaucracy concluded that competition among
political parties when the majority began to see wavering support, but a more compelling view saw it
as a means for politicians to lighten their workload.
In his paper outlining the functions of political parties and bureaucracies throughout American history,
Martin Shefter uses the Progressive Era to illustrate how the decline of political party power leads to
bureaucratic reform. The party realignment of 1896 culminated in weak political parties that often had
one party in charge at a regional level. Consequently, any minority faction was useless in challenging
majority party policies. Unable to make a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

to keep their large bureaucracies efficient. When controlled for lame duck congressmen, there is not a

result of such representatives who have an interest in making sure their replacement cannot exercise
too much power. They were able to determine this by creating dummy variables that corresponded to
the first three years of a president s term and measured the ability of a lame duck president to blanket

Business School At Washington University Essay
Describe your interest in entrepreneurship. Please include any past experiences in innovation and
entrepreneurship:
Ever since I was a young child I always wanted to create the next newest and biggest invention. For
example, when I found out the creator of Jibits for crocs (those small plastic accessories that go into
the holes of crocs sold her company to crocs for millions of dollars. It was such a simple idea, but also
so creative and innovative. I was hooked on the idea of creating a product and starting my own
company from that point forward.
While I have not had any success yet in creating my own company, I hope to in the future. This past
summer I studied abroad in Israel through Olin Business School at Washington University in St. Louis
program. This program, Israel Summer Business Academy was a six week program focused
entrepreneurship and innovation. While in Israel, we took classes from both American and Israeli
professors. Within groups during the second half of the program, we created a product to pitch to the
rest of the class. This pitch had to include a minimum viable product, budget decisions and adverting
decisions among a multitude of things. While we were creating our own products, we visited various
Israeli startup companies like wix.com or ReWalk. We also visited incubators and venture capital
firms that fund various startups in Israel. Being that Israel is known as the start up capital of the world,
it allowed me throughout the summer to fully

The Balance Sheet and Financial Disclosures Essay
Chapter 3 The Balance Sheet and Financial Disclosures
Questions for Review of Key Topics
Question 3 1
The purpose of the balance sheet, also known as the statement of financial position, is to present the
financial position of the company on a particular date. Unlike the income statement, which is a change
statement that reports events occurring during a period of time, the balance sheet is a statement that
presents an organized array of assets, liabilities, and shareholders equity at a point in time. It is a
freeze frame or snapshot picture of financial position at the end of a particular day marking the end of
an accounting period.

Disclosure notes provide additional detail concerning specific financial statement items. Included are
such data as the market values of financial instruments and off balance sheet risk associated with
financial instruments and details of pension plans, leases, debt, and assets. Common to all companies
disclosures are certain specific notes such as a summary of significant accounting policies,
descriptions of subsequent events, and related third party transactions. However, many notes are
designed to fit the disclosure needs of the particular reporting company. In fact, any explanation that
helps investors and creditors make decisions should be included.
Answers to Questions (continued)
Question 3 12
The disclosure of the company s significant accounting policies is extremely important to external
users in terms of their ability to compare financial information across companies. It is critical to a
financial analyst involved in assessing future cash flows of two construction companies to know that
one company uses the percentage of completion method in recognizing gross profit, while the other
company uses the completed contract method.

The Importance Of Privacy Rights In Schools
Imagine if a person s privacy right was invaded and they couldn t do anything about it, would the best
option be to stand up for themselves or would the best option be to let it happen to them? Privacy
rights in school is a controversial topic. Some people believe that schools have the right to do
whatever they feel is right in the situation no matter how wrong it might be, but other people believe
that there has to be a good reason why the school invades students privacy. Students in school should
have privacy rights that limit what other people can do and search because if not it causes
discrimination, it causes issues with parents, and it is dangerous. Every student in America should
have privacy rights in school without the act of discrimination taking part. Discrimination is becoming
an issue in privacy rights. For example, Wisconsin lawmakers would pass a bill that will not allow
transgender students to use the bathroom of the gender that they would like to identify themselves as
(Bosman 1). This is significant because this is saying that whatever parts in there body they were born
with has to correspond to the bathroom they go to even if they identify themselves differently. This is
showing an act of discrimination because its not allowing students to go to the bathroom that they
identify themselves. This is something so little that is caused into a big problem all because
administrators are being discriminative. Additionally, a student who identifies himself as a

Black Man Reflection Paper
If you are a student, you know that no matter what, after taking a class, failed or succeeded, you will
learn something new. But what can I learn in a Black Man in Contemporary Society class that I don t
already know? Can it change my opinion of the black man? Coming from a majority black country,
being in the USA has already challenged and confused my person. I was not ready to affront a world
where people judge me by my skin color. By the time I got into this class, reality already burst my
bubble, and I had already forged in my mind, ideas about black men. So, from this class, I was not
expecting a miracle but was still hoping to find answer. During the semester, we read many books,

Another author that have affected my view on the masculinity subject is Ta Nehesi Coates with the
sentence Not being violent enough could cost me my body. Being too violent could cost me my body.
We could not get out. This explains how black men are stuck with no control over their body. As a
black man, the way to succeed the street is violence named the struggle if you decide not to, the street
may succeed you. But if you let violence take over you, you may lose yourself to the police.
That brings us to thinking about the new Jim Crow that is somehow explaining how many black
people ends up in jail losing most of their citizenship rights. I used to believe that all the black

they can t find jobs because employers will discriminate them as soon as you check the box also, if

Role Of The Systems Approach For The Water
The Role of the Systems Approach for the Water Food Energy Nexus The role of the systems
approach when dealing with the water, food, and energy nexus is to understand and depict the
interconnections between all parts, to ensure the parts are divided equally, and that the sum of all parts
equals the whole. By focusing on just one part, for instance water trying to make the heating of water
and the extraction of water better, you can actually be causing more issues at the expense of the energy
sector. According to the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations, This (nexus

One notable energy source is biofuel. Biofuel is made from agricultural efforts. While this seems like
a win/win for the energy industry, and the agricultural industry, it s detrimental to the water industry.
How? If you take a step back, you will see that the demand for fresh irrigation water is increased, so is
the increase for pesticides and fertilizers. With unsustainable irrigation practices, water run off, the
lack of watershed management programs, and unpredictable climate changes and weather patterns,
surface and ground waters are more susceptible to pollution and contamination. This is a reality that
Lake Okeechobee knows all too well right now. Back pumping from sugar cane agricultural land into
Lake Okeechobee has caused surface water contamination, and a call for a state of emergency for the
lake and its water quality.
Water and Energy Nexus of Providing Hot Water Since water isn t naturally hot , it takes energy to get
it to a desired heated temperature. There are different types of energy used to get water to a heated
temperature: solar energy, electrical power, hydro electrical power, etc. Knowing the linkage between
what energy makes water heat up the fastest, yet is the cleanest would be the most desirable choice for
the water energy nexus in providing hot water. Ideally, to collect and store solar energy for water

The driving force behind life is the constant process of change. We see the process of metamorphosis
on all levels. We see days turn into nights, babies grow into adults, caterpillars morph into butterflies,
and on an even grander scale, the biological evolution of species. The process of metamorphosis
connects two completely diverse entities, serving as a bridge between the two. Day and night are
connected by evening, the slow sinking of the sun in the sky. In a typical life cycle, birth and death are
bridged by various life stages, including infancy, childhood, adolescence, adulthood, and finally old

Jessurum de Mesquita from 1919 until 1922. After he had concluded his studies, he traveled
extensively, mostly in Italy. Escher took up residence in Rome from the early twenties until the mid
thirties. While residing there, he made it a tradition to make a journey to the Italian countryside every
spring. He traveled long distances on foot in many areas of southern Italy that were not popular for
travel at the time. During these explorations, Escher made drawings of whatever interested him,
mainly the Italian countryside and the architecture, which fascinated him to draw. During the winters,
he would convert the drawings and rough sketches into woodprints. In 1935, the rise of Fascism
caused Escher to leave Italy and move to Switzerland. A year later, he made the last of his long study
trips, this time on an ocean freighter along the coast of Italy to Spain. On this trip, he encountered
several prints created in Spain in the Middle Ages that held a special interest for him and later inspired
many of his tessellation pieces. In 1937, Escher moved to a small town near Brussels, returned to
Brussels in 1941, and moved a final time in 1970, to Laren, located in the Netherlands. After 1937,

You should always do good without expecting some sort of gratitude in return. You should be satisfied
with the though of being a good human being, instead of expecting a payment in return for your good

control your mind and thoughts, if you can do this you can control in which way your life will go.
Book seven is about patience and how you must have tolerance. People will always try and bring you
down no matter what you do, good or bad. The only way you can remain happy during these times, is
to remain true to yourself. How you react to these situations and negativity being put upon you, is up

explains how you will encounter a lot in life but if you separate yourself from others, you will only

The Chinese Fireworks Industry revised

1. Issue identification:
Jerry Yu is considering whether to invest in Liuyang fireworks factory, so he made an evaluation of
the Chinese firework industry. Here is a brief identification of the issue:
1.1 History of fireworks:
There is an old line of the Chinese fireworks, which is tightly combined with varieties of celebrations
and festivals in China. Especially, Liuyang is known as the home of fireworks and firecrackers and
good at making varieties of fireworks. And fireworks and firecrackers has become the pillar industry
of Liuyang.

Department of Transportation. The fireworks are all of high quality, so no special storage was
required.
Also, in the most Europe, similar regulations were in place for safety considerations, only the
requirements were regarded as less stringent. In Canada, regulations were extremely restrictive.
However, over the past decade Chinese fireworks companies had made great strides in the Canadian
market.
As to the domestic market, during the 1990s, increased concerns over environmental pollution and
safety of human life and property led more and more cities to regulate he consumption of fireworks
and firecrackers. However, all this began to change in the mid 2000s. Beijing lifted a 12 year ban on
fireworks in 2005 and other cities followed suit. Over the next ten years, many legal restrictions were
lifted.
Offensive strategy to increase the sales of fireworks:
Speaking of Liuyang, in 1997, seeing the decline of its fireworks sales, Liuyang Firecrackers and
Fireworks Industry Department, the government agency in charge of the overall development of the
pillar industry, decided to start an offensive strategy. First, it opened local offices in most of the 29
provinces, major cities and regions to promote Liuyang fireworks. Second, it regulated the prices that
Liuyang fireworks companies could quote and sell in export sales. Third, it resorted to a government
to government relationship in order to secure contracts for large public fireworks displays

Trauma In The Afghan Girl
Trauma is universal; life without both the exposure and reaction to catastrophe, suffering, or
hopelessness is alien to the human experience and stunts one s growth of understanding said
experience more fully, regardless of impact. The attitudes and behaviors that people carry with them
as expressions of either instinctual or cultural values, however, are integral to comprehending the
diverse mentalities and viewpoints of trauma victims. Indignation, paranoia, depression, antipathy,
ennui, and aimlessness can be functionally identical in most all human beings, but the subconscious
catharsis of that awesomely mixed cascade of emotions resulting from trauma is a powerful indicator
of who exactly that person is and what they ve suffered. They aren t fuzz buried in the endless streams

The Case Of The Hybrid Scooter
Introduction Understanding the global intricacies that can influence the ROI for an organization is
extremely fragile. There are several of obstacles that create this uncertainty, which without a HR
strategy that is aligned with the company s mission and goals, can lead to the acquisition of companies
and talent that can be costly and ineffective. In the case of the hybrid scooter, there are several angels
to determine if this product could work in two of the countries compared by their culture, workforce,
and viability. The scooter was first examined to see if it would be an alternative to the current Chinese
mobility patterns and transportation within the country s urban areas. China s urban areas are
extremely dense while growing consistently since the economic boom that hit the country during the
late part of the 1990 s and early part of 2000 s (China Labour Bulletin, 2013). Therefore, it would be
understandable that this product could be a feasible alternative to driving within the city. The other
factor would be the pollution rate and air quality in China. China, as an emerging front runner of the
industrialized and developed countries, has a well documented problem with pollution from cars and
the consumption of coal (Chinese Academy of Engineering, 2004). Therefore, this scooter could be a
great way to reduce their carbon footprints on the planet as well as it can benefit the air quality for
their citizens. For these reason this product would sell better in China.

Large eCommerce stores often depend on sales to VIP customers, and many of these buyers need
higher levels of support than regular customers. VIP customers might need more detailed product
research and vendor support services, special lists of preapproved products, custom pricing, flexibility
to customize products, products from only name brand manufacturers or built in ordering limits
constrained by individual store deliveries, budget caps, seasonal boundaries and confidentiality or
security compliance issues.
These special product lists could challenge any B2B operation and its staff to comply with all these
special requirements. Back office customizations can craft special instructions and catalogs or stores
within stores that only display approved products and limit orders based on customizable guidelines.
The companies can still order other products if approved, which often requires approvals from
multiple decision makers. These store customizations can offer the following automatic processes:

Geothermal Energy Is A Kind Of Energy
1. Introduction
Geothermal energy is a kind of energy that provided by the heat of our planet, the Earth. The cost of
geothermal energy is low, and it is reliable and friendly to the environment, but is limited to some
specific areas. Recent technology development has greatly expanded the range and size of geothermal
energy resources. Now the geothermal energy can be also used for applications such as home heating,
which add use potential for the resource. Although, tapping geothermal energy will release some gas
pollution which are originally trapped deep inside the earth, these emissions are much lower than
those of fossil fuels. Therefore, geothermal energy is a kind of potential energy and may help to
reduce emissions of greenhouse of the earth and of the pollution to the environment.
California, with its location on the Pacific Ring of Fire, has great potential of geothermal energy,
which can easily meet the consumption of electricity for 100,000 residents. According to EIA [1], the
monthly average consumption per person is 557kWh, we can get,
Total Capacity = (557 ×12 kWh/year×100,000)/(365 ×24 ×0.92h/year) = 83 MW
Therefore, our geothermal power plant capacity is 83MW.

How Did Galileo Galilei Contribute To Chemistry
Who do you think of when you are asked to name a famous chemist, astronomer, and physicist from
the past? When I think of famous chemists, astronomers, and physicists, I think of: Galileo Galilei, an
astronomer; Robert Hooke, a physicist; and George Washington Carver, a chemist. Galileo, Hooke,
and Carver all made great contributions to each of their respective fields of knowledge and had
fascinating lives.
Galileo Galilei made a major contribution, in the field of astronomy and even physics. Galileo Galilei
was born February 15, 1564 (AD) in Pisa, Italy, to Giulia Di Cosimo Ammannati and Vincenzo
Galilei. He had five siblings; Michelangelo Galilei, Benedetto Galilei, Giulia Galilei, Livia Galilei and
Virginia Galileo. His father was a lutenist or, someone who plays the lute, (a guitar like instrument),

Analysis Of Stripped For Parts By Jennifer Khan
Disruption of the Dead In the essay Stripped for Parts written, by Jennifer khan. The general concept
that is addressed is how morbid the process of harvesting dead peoples organs out of their bodies. The
way Khan starts the essay is by using a narrative approach. The narrative approach helps express the
emotion throughout her points she tries to bring up. She uses the story of a dead old man lying on a
table waiting for his organs to be taken out. Throughout this she goes from giving examples of
different doctors, professors, and other professionals. The thesis statement that grabbed my attention
the most is Compared with such micro scare cures, transplants which consist of salvaging entire
organs from a heart beating cadaver and sewing ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The main emotion I felt while reading Khans paper was that I was shocked by the process organ
donors go through in their afterlives. It slightly made me angry at some moments as well. On the first
page when Khan brings up different points the one that made me interested was In the movies, for
instance, surgeons tended to say it would take time to find a heart as though one had been hidden
behind a tree or misplaced along with the car keys (123.) This was the point that brought out the anger
emotion that came upon me. The reason I used this quote the was because she compared how surgeons
took time to find these organs to having to find a pair of keys that were lost, which are two very
different concepts. This essay was also very shocking considering how unaware I was of what a donor
even meant. Eventually finding out that not every organ works in the new host it is planted in. Even
though it is not the major concept it really helps convince the readers. When it is said Sustaining a
dead body until its organs can be harvested is a tricky process requiring the latest in medical
technology (124.) This really puts it into perspective for some readers from what is essentially going
on. Also considering it is just upsetting about how a dead person has had their whole entire lives and is
just lying on a table waiting to be dissected. This approach is added to Khan s essay for the sympathy

Benefits of Youth Sports Sports do not build character. They reveal it, said John Wooden, legendary
UCLA basketball coach. Playing sports not only provides physical activity, but also other positive
benefits. This is especially true for children. A well structured and organized youth program will
provide benefits and positive experiences for young athletes. While children are having fun
participating in sports they are also building character, learning to work as a team, and playing fairly.
Most people think the only benefits of sports are physical. Sports are more than just developing hand
eye coordination and burning calories, youth sports provide many developmental benefits, physical
benefits, and psychological benefits.

According to the American Heart Association, one in every three children is overweight. Children who
are overweight are more likely to be obese as adults, increasing their risk for diseases and conditions
such as diabetes, heart attack, and high blood pressure (Ashe Edmunds 3). High blood pressure can
lead to heart disease, stroke and kidney failure. But weight loss can help reduce high blood pressure,
so sports that burn calories address this problem.
Depending on the sport that a child participates in, most sports require physical activity. Research has
shown that physical movement can affect the brain s physiology by increasing cerebral capillary
growth, blood flow, oxygenation, growth of nerve cells in the hippocampus, neurotransmitter levels,
development of nerve connections, density of neural network, and brain tissue volume (Donaldson 4).
In other words, physical exercise causes short term relaxation, improved concentration, enhanced
creativity and memory, improved mood, and enhanced problem solving abilities. Sport can help
prevent drug and alcohol abuse by teaching young athletes to be aware of their body and how it
responds to different stimuli and circumstances. Athletes learn to value what their bodies can do and to
maintain those abilities (Jones 2). Being an athlete gives kids an acceptable reason to say no to drugs,
alcohol, and other unhealthy behaviors when offered by their peers.

Social Class in to Kill a Mockingbird
There are many different social classes in To Kill A Mockingbird. The factors that separate people into
these social classes are their skin color and their occupation. For example, Atticus, Scout, and Jem are
part of the highest social class. They are part of this social class because Atticus is a lawyer, which
makes him a highly respected person in the community. He is also white, which, at that time was a
very important factor that chose who belonged in what social class. Scout and Jem are his children and
therefore are also part of this social class.
Another person in this same social class is Miss Maudie Atkinson. She grew up with the Finch s and is
an old friend of theirs. She is now Atticus s neighbor and is loved by his ... Show more content on

The next social class is the poor, yet respectable white people. The Cunningham s are in this class
because even though they are poor, they manage to live their life by borrowing money and paying
back the money borrowed with items from the farm instead of money. Under them are the Ewell s,
who are poor and disgusting. They are completely rude and so are their children, but they are still in a
higher social class than black people since they are white.
The next social class is wealthy or middle class black people. Calpurnia is a part of this class and only
is for the reason that she is black. She has all the qualities of a good southern lady, and has perfect
manners. She is respected and in good relations with the Finch family. Calpurnia would be in the same
social class as Atticus Finch if she weren t black. Another person who is in this class is Reverend
Sykes. He met Jem and Scout in church and showed how much he respected them and their father for
defending the Tom Robinson case. He welcomed them and was very friendly, therefore in the same
class as Calpurnia.
The last social class is the poor and black people. Lula is in this social class. She is disgraceful to the
black people and her motto is that the black people should stick to own community and the white
should stay with there s. She was harsh and shallow to someone who is of her kind (Calpurnia) and
she was harsh to two innocent kids just because they are white.

The Perils Of Working Class By Barbara Ehrenreich
Barbara Ehrenreich s showed that she didn t have the mind set or worries of a working class person by
reminding us as readers the fine line between the kind of performance she is doing and the kind her
fellow coworkers do every day on the job. Time and again she lets us sink into her new world of a low
wage worker, only to pull us back with a reminder of the act. 1 She does this experiment to determine
whether or not she could both live off the money earned and have enough money at the end of the
month to pay the next month s rent. Working class people depend on the money they make on these
jobs to survive and provide for their families. She could drop all these jobs she experimented with and

How To Make Awtys Essay
From the earliest days of family travel, four small words have resonated through the car are we there
yet?! If you listen closely you can almost hear those words wafting from the back seat of a Model T.
While cars have changed, family travel and that famous phrase have not. So, how do you stop the Are
We There Yets (known as the awtys in our family)? Most cases of the awtys are caused by three
factors: the need to move around, boredom, and desire for parental interaction. Here are some tips to
help combat this famous method of vacation torture. Mixing the tips to suit your family will work the
best! Children have their limitations. Even the best travelers will need to stretch their legs. Most
children can realistically handle about ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Set a treat that works for your family; for example, stop for ice cream, stay up an extra hour, or have a
swim at the hotel pool. Remember to be consistent and follow through with your promise. Since they
are all depending on each other to not say awty the kids will remind each other and tend to help keep
each other entertained. When all else fails, make a game of the Are We There Yets . Use an online
translator program to find out how to say Are We There Yet in three or four other languages. Write the
translations on small notecards (one for each child). Don t forget to put some easy pronunciation tips
next to the translation. Let the kids know they can each ask awty in each of the languages once per trip
so they have to use them sparingly. There is really something so sweet about hearing your four year
old ask Are We There Yet in Japanese! If you don t mind hearing awty a few times along the way, try
this game. Write each of the four words on a separate notecard. Make a set of cards for each child.
Each time one of the children asks awty they have to give you one of their cards. The goal is for them
to have at least one card left when you reach the destination (or stop for the night, whichever condition

The Importance Of Occupational Injuries In Patient Care
Healthcare works are experiencing injuries from moving and handling patients. Research by the
Bureau of Labor Statistics, shows healthcare workers often experience musculoskeletal disorders
(MSDs) at a rate exceeding that of workers in construction, mining, and manufacturing). Injuries are
becoming a problem due to repeated manual patient handling activities. The patient handling usually
involves heavy manual lifting associated with transferring and repositioning patients. The problem of
lifting patients is compounded by the increasing weight of patients to be lifted due and the rapidly
increasing number of older people who require assistance with the activities of daily living. This is
such an important issues affecting healthcare that ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Twelve percent of nurse s report that they left the nursing profession because of back pain (Stubbs, et
al., 2007). Since, the United States (US) is facing a nursing shortage predicted to be 30% by 2020,
reducing injuries and protecting the health of the healthcare workers should be a priority for all Health
system organizations (HSO). Senior leadership also needs to make sure they have addressed the
epidemic of obese patients. There needs to be a process in place and equipment available to address
the needs of a growing population.
2.How can middle management be convinced that this is an important problem? Middle management
needs to address this problem at a unit level. The same way there are policies, processes, and protocols
to prevent patient falls, there needs to be the same process to prevent staff injury. They need to keep
up with the number of injuries on each unit and have them to display them on the unit. Management
needs to encourage, promote and foster a culture of safety on their units and throughout the
organization. Management should promote transparency when it comes to reporting unsafe conditions
or practices. This allows for open communication and feedback from staff. They should make sure the
unit is safe ergonomically. There also needs to be training for staff members to educated them about
the importance of staff safety, preventing injuries and the use of lifting equipment. Management could

Examples Of My Long Term Goals
My long term goal is to gain the skills that I can use to provide support to my community and I believe
I can do this by obtaining my bachelor s in nursing from Georgia College State University. I ve grown
up hearing stories of how charities and nurses helped my cousin s life be a good one. As a baby, she
was diagnosed with leukemia. The hospital, nurse s, and charities did amazing things to help her. They
made it a happy time for her. The nurses and community helped raise money for my family. I want to
be able to do the same for families as they did for mine. This is how I found what I wanted to do. I ve
always had a hard time deciding what I wanted to be. I just knew I wanted to be able to help people.

Essay on Advanced Production Critical Evaluation
Advanced Production Critical Evaluation For my AS production I followed a set brief. I was required
to work in a group to produce a 3 minute trailer for a new horror/thriller movie. In my A2 advanced
production my brief was to work within a group in order to produce a promotional package to
introduce a new band into the mainstream music industry. The package could take any form, using a
variety of medias. We started the project by doing individual research into the music industry. Through
my research I aimed to gain in depth knowledge and understanding of the industry. I researched the
style, form, genre and identity of album covers, music videos and record labels. I found all media

extend these qualities into our video. We wanted to extend the meaning of the song through our media

produce a music video, suitable for mainstream TV. Establishing band idenity The song has a clear
Indie style with its grungy guitar and vocals. It also has a very individual style and sound. We felt that
our band could be marketed as an Indie band brandishing a new style. Whilst the band would be very
stylised, its main concern is for it s music. The bands style would grow from their passion for their
music and are the muso type. It would be very bold and artistic with its other media productions just
as it is with its music. The band would not nesicerialy be a mainstream product but would have
mainstream appeal, similar to such bands as radio head and the white stripes. We decided that Bus

accessible song to a mainstream audience on the album. The song has a conventional popular form

The Rampage of Polio
During the twentieth century Americans were afraid. They were afraid of the Russians, they were
afraid of the economy, they were afraid of Hitler, and they were afraid of polio. A disease as
indiscriminate as a nuclear bomb, it struck young and old, rich and poor, white and black. It caused
fear and hysteria, confusion and anger, paralysis, and even death. By this time the United States had
endured smallpox, cholera, yellow fever, and tuberculosis; but it had never experienced a wide spread
epidemic of a disease that seemed to specifically target children before the twentieth century.
Although polio effects people of all ages, children are the most susceptible due to their weak immune
systems. Many victims of polio were partially or completely paralyzed, and thousands died. The
summer plague would run rampant in the United States for nearly four decades. Before the 1890 s
polio was fairly common but largely unknown. The disease was very common in early history due to a
lack of sanitation but because many people contracted the disease they developed immunity to that
strain at an early age. If the infected persons lived through the early infection they were then immune
to that particular strain of polio. This meant that in excess of 90% of some populations were immune,
while less than 0.5% were paralyzed due to polio. Evidence has been found of polio in the ancient
world. Some scientists believe hieroglyph depictions of people

Environmental Effects Of Plastic Bags
I decided to write this report after watching a documentary called, Plastic Bags Environmental
Impacts on YouTube. The video showed poor innocent animals wrapped up in plastic bags and it made
me feel heartbroken. So I wanted to find out what other issues do plastic bags create and if we really
need to ban them, or if we need to find other alternatives, or just manage our use of them. Plastic bags
have a benefit convenience , as most people nowadays use plastic bags for all sort of things e.g.
moving things, reusing for shopping, art and crafts which show people are reusing them seen they are
so convenient. My hypothesis is: Plastic bags are causing a problem and together we need to find a
solution. My key questions are: What are the issues that plastic bags create? Are their environmentally
friendly alternatives to plastic bags? How can we manage the use of plastic bags? What are the issues
that plastic bags create? There are a wide range of issues around plastic bags, including impacts on
animal welfare. According to an article I found on healthguidance.org One of the greatest problems is
that an estimated 300 million plastic bags end up in the Atlantic Ocean alone. So just think of the poor
sea life that go hunting and mistake a floating plastic bag for a meal and end up suffocating and
experiencing a slow, painful death. 86% of all known species of sea turtles have had reported
problems of entanglement or ingestion of marine debris including plastic bags (post

Hollywood Gladiator History
Gladiator
Throughout Hollywood history, movies have been depicted a lot differently than what art historians
believe had actually happened. Movies have been glorified, characters have been given different
ensembles, and new characters have been developed and introduced. The movie Gladiator was a big
success in the box office and it won many awards. Although the movie was appropriate in the
Hollywood side of things, there are many differences between what Hollywood wants their audience
to see and what was historically correct.
The story follows a man named Maximus Decimus Meridius played by Russel Crowe. In the film
Maximus was a Roman General turned gladiator and although his character was essentially fictional, it
has been said that he seems to be a based upon an actual historical figure named Germanicus who was
a very well known commander of the forces in Germania. We re also ... Show more content on

The Roman Coliseum is located east of the Roman Forum, and beside the Coliseum stood a colossal
statue of Nero which may have gotten its new name from. As shown in the film, the Coliseum was
used for gladiatorial shows. The gladiators were either criminals, slaves or prisoners of war, and could
be male or female. The director was criticized for having female gladiators in the film and although
rare, it is known that there were female gladiators. The amphitheater was known to be of huge
importance in Roman society, Oh you should see the Colosseum, Spaniard. 50,000 Romans watching
every movement of your sword, willing you to make that killer blow. The silence before you strike,
and the noise afterwards, it rises, rises like...like a storm, as if you were the Thunder God himself

New Forms Of Extreme Vulnerability
Globalization processes have created new forms of extreme vulnerability that disproportionately
impact the welfare of poor women of color living in border cities. As borders have become
increasingly permeable and capitalism has transcended national borders, outsourcing labor has
become a common practice within transnational corporatism. To meet the demands of the global
North, gendered forms of labor have emerged in the global South that have resulted in the exploitation
and abuse of poor women of color. The rising levels of violence that poor, border women are subjected
is one of the multi faceted effects of globalization within border cities. The presence of an informal
economy, existing forms of patriarchal structure, racial hierarchies, and the militarization of borders
all lead to conditions that make female migrant workers across U.S. and Mexican borderlands
denationalized citizens. Because of the state s role in using militarization and policing as forms of
social control, migrant women cannot exercise their citizenship and claim control over their own
bodies. Although globalization is viewed as a phenomenon that improves the living conditions for all,
I argue that it presents complex challenges to women s claim over their own bodies and contributes to
their overall state of rightlessness within borderlands.
The presence of an informal economy alongside the formal economy within border cities neutralizes
sex service and gendered labor. Sexual violence towards women

The Court Of A Public Telephone Booth
On the date of February 4th, 1965, believing that the Petitioner had been using public pay phones to
transmit illegal gambling wagers from Los Angeles to Miami and Boston, the Federal Bureau of
Investigation began their surveillance into the life of the Petitioner, Charles Katz. Fifteen days later on
February 19th, 1965 FBI agents working the case against the Petitioner had gained access to a phone
booth within a set of phone booths that the petitioner frequented on Sunset Boulevard in Los Angeles,
and summarily recorded the petitioner s side of conversations he was having on the phone within a
booth nearby. This surveillance lasted until the 25th (excluding February 22, as no evidence was
obtained due to technical difficulties) the date of the petitioner s arrest, which took place immediately
after he exited the same set of phone booths (Brief for Respondent 3). In this case there are two major
constitutional questions which need to be addressed: (1) whether evidence obtained by attaching an
electronic listening and recording device to the top of a public telephone booth used and occupied by
the Petitioner is gathered in violation of the Fourth Amendment, and (2) whether the search warrant
used by the FBI officers in this case violated the Fourth Amendment to the constitution in that the
warrant was (a) not founded on probable cause; (b) an evidentiary search warrant and (c) a general
search warrant. While the Petitioner would like the answer to be yes in both cases,

  • 2. Outline For Hamlet Research Paper Jacob Dickerson Mrs. Bain College English 1205 21 February 2017 Hamlet Essay Topic 2. As the son of a murdered noble, Hamlet is obligated to avenge the death of his father. It was the many losses faced by Hamlet in his life filled with extreme tragedies that forced him to avenge his father s death from Claudius . In Hamlet , a play by William Shakespeare; the protagonist, Hamlet throughout the play is perceived to be mad however Hamlet s insanity was more than an act. Hamlet s father s ghost sent him on a mission to kill Claudius to avenge his death, he tried to go but he kept hesitating back and forth. It was not that he was unfaithful, and he did not want to do it, but he was not done thinking it out. Every time he was about to do the deed ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The spirit I have seen may be a Devil. (2.2.565) Once again, he is questioning whether or not to do it. He is trying to get all of the facts out and trying to see if the ghost is really king hamlet and not a evil spirit trying to trick him into killing Claudius. Hamlet really does want revenge even though he is procrastinating a lot. I have cause, and will, and strength, and means/ To do t . It is possible to argue that Hamlet has no opportunity to effect revenge the King is obviously well guarded but Hamlet himself says that he is able to fulfill his purpose. It is clear that Hamlet is not denied his revenge by mere practicalities; he has the opportunity, for example, to kill Claudius while he is at prayer, when he may do it. Hamlet delays in killing Claudius not only because he is suffering from an Oedipal complex but also because he is far too sane or practical to commit an act of murder. Basically sanity is keeping him from killing his uncle. Hamlet is like a soldier that is thrown into a war where he has to do some things he rather would not do, but under certain circumstances he bites his teeth and carries himself ... • 3. Why The Collapse Of Patron And Broker The Collapse of Patron and Broker Throughout the 19th century, American government on the local, state, and federal level all utilized patronage to amass political support in exchange for jobs and distributive goods. However, as the century came to an end, there was a shift from this tradition to one that slowly transformed bureaucracy from a spoils system to one of merit. There are many competing theories on why this civil service reform emerged the way it did in the United States. Different test subjects were investigated how and why merit penetrated the bureaucracy concluded that competition among political parties when the majority began to see wavering support, but a more compelling view saw it as a means for politicians to lighten their workload. In his paper outlining the functions of political parties and bureaucracies throughout American history, Martin Shefter uses the Progressive Era to illustrate how the decline of political party power leads to bureaucratic reform. The party realignment of 1896 culminated in weak political parties that often had one party in charge at a regional level. Consequently, any minority faction was useless in challenging majority party policies. Unable to make a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Please include any past experiences in innovation and entrepreneurship: Ever since I was a young child I always wanted to create the next newest and biggest invention. For example, when I found out the creator of Jibits for crocs (those small plastic accessories that go into the holes of crocs sold her company to crocs for millions of dollars. It was such a simple idea, but also so creative and innovative. I was hooked on the idea of creating a product and starting my own company from that point forward. While I have not had any success yet in creating my own company, I hope to in the future. This past summer I studied abroad in Israel through Olin Business School at Washington University in St. Louis program. This program, Israel Summer Business Academy was a six week program focused entrepreneurship and innovation. While in Israel, we took classes from both American and Israeli professors. Within groups during the second half of the program, we created a product to pitch to the rest of the class. This pitch had to include a minimum viable product, budget decisions and adverting decisions among a multitude of things. While we were creating our own products, we visited various Israeli startup companies like wix.com or ReWalk. We also visited incubators and venture capital firms that fund various startups in Israel. The Importance Of Privacy Rights In Schools Imagine if a person s privacy right was invaded and they couldn t do anything about it, would the best option be to stand up for themselves or would the best option be to let it happen to them? Privacy rights in school is a controversial topic. Some people believe that schools have the right to do whatever they feel is right in the situation no matter how wrong it might be, but other people believe that there has to be a good reason why the school invades students privacy. Students in school should have privacy rights that limit what other people can do and search because if not it causes discrimination, it causes issues with parents, and it is dangerous. Every student in America should have privacy rights in school without the act of discrimination taking part. Discrimination is becoming an issue in privacy rights. For example, Wisconsin lawmakers would pass a bill that will not allow transgender students to use the bathroom of the gender that they would like to identify themselves as (Bosman 1). This is significant because this is saying that whatever parts in there body they were born with has to correspond to the bathroom they go to even if they identify themselves differently. This is showing an act of discrimination because its not allowing students to go to the bathroom that they identify themselves. This is something so little that is caused into a big problem all because administrators are being discriminative. Additionally, a student who identifies himself as a ... Coming from a majority black country, being in the USA has already challenged and confused my person. I was not ready to affront a world where people judge me by my skin color. By focusing on just one part, for instance water trying to make the heating of water and the extraction of water better, you can actually be causing more issues at the expense of the energy sector. While this seems like a win/win for the energy industry, and the agricultural industry, it s detrimental to the water industry. How? If you take a step back, you will see that the demand for fresh irrigation water is increased, so is the increase for pesticides and fertilizers. With unsustainable irrigation practices, water run off, the lack of watershed management programs, and unpredictable climate changes and weather patterns, surface and ground waters are more susceptible to pollution and contamination. This is a reality that Lake Okeechobee knows all too well right now. Back pumping from sugar cane agricultural land into Lake Okeechobee has caused surface water contamination, and a call for a state of emergency for the lake and its water quality. We see the process of metamorphosis on all levels. We see days turn into nights, babies grow into adults, caterpillars morph into butterflies, and on an even grander scale, the biological evolution of species. The process of metamorphosis connects two completely diverse entities, serving as a bridge between the two. Day and night are connected by evening, the slow sinking of the sun in the sky. After he had concluded his studies, he traveled extensively, mostly in Italy. Escher took up residence in Rome from the early twenties until the mid thirties. While residing there, he made it a tradition to make a journey to the Italian countryside every spring. He traveled long distances on foot in many areas of southern Italy that were not popular for travel at the time. During these explorations, Escher made drawings of whatever interested him, mainly the Italian countryside and the architecture, which fascinated him to draw. During the winters, he would convert the drawings and rough sketches into woodprints. In 1935, the rise of Fascism caused Escher to leave Italy and move to Switzerland. A year later, he made the last of his long study trips, this time on an ocean freighter along the coast of Italy to Spain. On this trip, he encountered several prints created in Spain in the Middle Ages that held a special interest for him and later inspired many of his tessellation pieces. In 1937, Escher moved to a small town near Brussels, returned to Brussels in 1941, and moved a final time in 1970, to Laren, located in the Netherlands. After 1937, Escher traveled a great deal less frequently, leaving home only for vacations, to visit his children living abroad, or on lecture circuits. His ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Department of Transportation. The fireworks are all of high quality, so no special storage was required. Also, in the most Europe, similar regulations were in place for safety considerations, only the requirements were regarded as less stringent. In Canada, regulations were extremely restrictive. However, over the past decade Chinese fireworks companies had made great strides in the Canadian market. As to the domestic market, during the 1990s, increased concerns over environmental pollution and safety of human life and property led more and more cities to regulate he consumption of fireworks and firecrackers. However, all this began to change in the mid 2000s. Beijing lifted a 12 year ban on fireworks in 2005 and other cities followed suit. Over the next ten years, many legal restrictions were lifted. Offensive strategy to increase the sales of fireworks: Speaking of Liuyang, in 1997, seeing the decline of its fireworks sales, Liuyang Firecrackers and Fireworks Industry Department, the government agency in charge of the overall development of the pillar industry, decided to start an offensive strategy. There are several of obstacles that create this uncertainty, which without a HR strategy that is aligned with the company s mission and goals, can lead to the acquisition of companies and talent that can be costly and ineffective. In the case of the hybrid scooter, there are several angels to determine if this product could work in two of the countries compared by their culture, workforce, and viability. The scooter was first examined to see if it would be an alternative to the current Chinese mobility patterns and transportation within the country s urban areas. China s urban areas are extremely dense while growing consistently since the economic boom that hit the country during the late part of the 1990 s and early part of 2000 s (China Labour Bulletin, 2013). Therefore, it would be understandable that this product could be a feasible alternative to driving within the city. The other factor would be the pollution rate and air quality in China. China, as an emerging front runner of the industrialized and developed countries, has a well documented problem with pollution from cars and the consumption of coal (Chinese Academy of Engineering, 2004). Therefore, this scooter could be a great way to reduce their carbon footprints on the planet as well as it can benefit the air quality for their citizens. For these reason this product would sell better in China. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 20. Geothermal Energy Is A Kind Of Energy 1. Introduction Geothermal energy is a kind of energy that provided by the heat of our planet, the Earth. The cost of geothermal energy is low, and it is reliable and friendly to the environment, but is limited to some specific areas. Recent technology development has greatly expanded the range and size of geothermal energy resources. Now the geothermal energy can be also used for applications such as home heating, which add use potential for the resource. Although, tapping geothermal energy will release some gas pollution which are originally trapped deep inside the earth, these emissions are much lower than those of fossil fuels. Therefore, geothermal energy is a kind of potential energy and may help to reduce emissions of greenhouse of the earth and of the pollution to the environment. California, with its location on the Pacific Ring of Fire, has great potential of geothermal energy, which can easily meet the consumption of electricity for 100,000 residents. When I think of famous chemists, astronomers, and physicists, I think of: Galileo Galilei, an astronomer; Robert Hooke, a physicist; and George Washington Carver, a chemist. Galileo, Hooke, and Carver all made great contributions to each of their respective fields of knowledge and had fascinating lives. Galileo Galilei made a major contribution, in the field of astronomy and even physics. Galileo Galilei was born February 15, 1564 (AD) in Pisa, Italy, to Giulia Di Cosimo Ammannati and Vincenzo Galilei. The general concept that is addressed is how morbid the process of harvesting dead peoples organs out of their bodies. The way Khan starts the essay is by using a narrative approach. The narrative approach helps express the emotion throughout her points she tries to bring up. She uses the story of a dead old man lying on a table waiting for his organs to be taken out. Throughout this she goes from giving examples of different doctors, professors, and other professionals. It slightly made me angry at some moments as well. On the first page when Khan brings up different points the one that made me interested was In the movies, for instance, surgeons tended to say it would take time to find a heart as though one had been hidden behind a tree or misplaced along with the car keys (123.) This was the point that brought out the anger emotion that came upon me. The reason I used this quote the was because she compared how surgeons took time to find these organs to having to find a pair of keys that were lost, which are two very different concepts. This essay was also very shocking considering how unaware I was of what a donor even meant. Eventually finding out that not every organ works in the new host it is planted in. Even though it is not the major concept it really helps convince the readers. When it is said Sustaining a dead body until its organs can be harvested is a tricky process requiring the latest in medical technology (124.) This really puts it into perspective for some readers from what is essentially going on. Also considering it is just upsetting about how a dead person has had their whole entire lives and is just lying on a table waiting to be dissected. Research has shown that physical movement can affect the brain s physiology by increasing cerebral capillary growth, blood flow, oxygenation, growth of nerve cells in the hippocampus, neurotransmitter levels, development of nerve connections, density of neural network, and brain tissue volume (Donaldson 4). In other words, physical exercise causes short term relaxation, improved concentration, enhanced creativity and memory, improved mood, and enhanced problem solving abilities. As borders have become increasingly permeable and capitalism has transcended national borders, outsourcing labor has become a common practice within transnational corporatism. To meet the demands of the global North, gendered forms of labor have emerged in the global South that have resulted in the exploitation and abuse of poor women of color. The rising levels of violence that poor, border women are subjected is one of the multi faceted effects of globalization within border cities. The presence of an informal economy, existing forms of patriarchal structure, racial hierarchies, and the militarization of borders all lead to conditions that make female migrant workers across U.S. and Mexican borderlands denationalized citizens. Because of the state s role in using militarization and policing as forms of social control, migrant women cannot exercise their citizenship and claim control over their own bodies. Although globalization is viewed as a phenomenon that improves the living conditions for all, I argue that it presents complex challenges to women s claim over their own bodies and contributes to their overall state of rightlessness within borderlands.
