Biological Weapons Vs Nuclear Weapons
Terrorists would be more likely to utilize a biological weapon over a nuclear weapon against the
United States for multiple reasons. The creation process, required funding, and resources needed to
obtain possession of a biological weapon, compared to a nuclear weapon, are easier. As stated by
Kostadinov and Galabova, with their features bio agents are ideal as a terrorists weapons undoubtedly
proved by performed bioterrorism assessment (Kostadinov, 2010, p. 303). The use of a biological
weapon is the, for lack of a better term, best choice for terrorists to use against their enemies. The
biggest goal they are going for is to inflict the largest amount of fear throughout the population as
possible. It is a very scary thing to know that the

Good By Muse
The first song I am deconstructing is the original Feeling Good by Nina Simone. This song was
recorded in 1965 when jazz, swing and soul music was very popular amongst American and African
American artists. The song is classified as rock influenced by the styles of jazz, swing and soul. At the
very beginning of the song, the low alto female voice is heard with no accompanying instruments. The
singing style includes the use of melismas and vibrato. When the song reaches the chorus, brass
instruments playing a low pitched riff are introduced with the piano playing high pitched notes. This is
continued throughout the second verse. At the second chorus s, strings are added to the piano part. In
the bridge, the singer is improvising over the chords ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This song was recorded in 2001, 36 years after the original was released. Muse is known as an
alternative band, but this song s styles include heavy rock and progressive rock. At the start of the
song, the singer is singing softly, with the overall texture of the song being quite thin. The voice is
accompanied by a soft electronic sound and a soft guitar playing the riff. At around the chorus, the
guitars begin to play loudly and the singing style becomes more aggressive. Drums are introduced
thickening the texture of the song. These drums, along with the distorted guitars, loud singing style
and the thick texture are the heavy rock influences found in the song. These heavy rock influences are
found throughout the song. After the chorus, in the second verse, the singing style is changed to an
almost electronic voice. The frequent changes of mood, dynamics, styles and tempo and the use of
recording techniques are some of the progressive rock influences found in the song. These occur in the
second verse of the song. The guitars back off and the texture thins with just the piano and drums
playing softly. When the song comes to the second chorus, it returns to the same timbre and dynamics
as the first chorus. At the bridge, improvisation by the lead singer is heard with just the bass guitar
playing the riff. This decrescendos until there is nothing heard and the song ends. The use

Operation Overload or D-Day Essay
D Day, also famously known as Operation Overlord, actually stands for Day Day. It was termed Day
Day since the Allied forces at the time did not want exact date to be known or set for the purpose of
maintaining it to be a surprise attack. D Day was a well planned Allied invasion to gain foothold in
France and the event took place on June 6, 1944 in order to liberate France which was, at the time,
fully an Axis occupied area (Kemp 75). Undoubtedly and according to the Allied forces plan, it was an
unexpected attack to the Germans, which increased the probability of success. Troops from several
countries around the world worked together to carry out the D Day mission, including United States,
Canada, Britain, and France. (Turner 44) The ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
More specifically, Caraquet, as well as other ships, cleared paths to allow landing craft to reach the
invasion beaches, according to the D Day plan while allowing warships to bombard enemy defences.
Overall, the Royal Canadian Navy played a significant role in the Normandy landings by contributing
vessels and sailors to the massive armada of 7000 Allied forces on the D Day.
Canadians showed adept skills and abilities on D Day from what they had learned in their previous
war experiences. Canada had only one experience in its national history of large scale combat on land
before the D Day. The Canadian corps that fought on the Western Front in WWI left behind not only a
formidable combat record but an intellectual legacy as well. Just as with the British army, the lessons
of 1914 1918 and the techniques of 1918 set the framework within which Canadian professional
soldiers thought about any future war. (Callahan 270) In addition, Canada and other Allied forces were
able to successfully perform their battle tactics after experiencing a tremendous failure in the Battle of
Dieppe. They attempted to make a successful raid on German occupied Europe over water, and then to
hold Dieppe briefly; however, it was a disaster. As a result, hundreds of Canadian soldiers were killed
and thousands were wounded or taken as prisoners. Despite this devastating failure, the Dieppe raid
had provided

All Quiet On The Western Front Nature Analysis
Gaby Rizk
Mrs. Trimble
ELA 20F/10 2
27 October, 2016
Comfort in Nature In the horrible first war, soldiers often found peace and comfort in nature. In Erich
Maria Remarque s novel All Quiet on the Western Front many soldiers are often drawn to nature to
provide comfort and peace. Young Paul Baumer, the central character in the novel, frequently looks to
nature for comfort in the midst of the war going on around him. Remarque reveals in this novel that it
is possible to make a connection to something so pure while in the midst of something horrific and
unnatural like war. Paul experiences the death of his close friend (Keimmerich), but in nature, he finds
comfort and is empowered. This is shown when Paul states, I breathe as deep as I can, and feel the
breeze in my face, warm and soft as never before (33). This passage shows how Paul looks to nature
for comfort in times where he is sad or angry. Instead of thinking about his comrade s death, he goes
outside and enjoys the nature around him. As a result of this he is no longer sad about his comrade s
death. Another passage that shows how he becomes empowered through nature is, The earth is
streaming with forces which pour into me through the soles of my feet (33). Here it is shown to the
reader just how much ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This connection is revealed in the novel through the character of Paul Baumer. From the earth, from
the air, sustaining forces pour into us mostly from the earth. To no man does the earth mean so much
as to the soldier (55). Paul explains how much the earth and the connection to earth means to the
soldier in war in this passage. In a greater sense, nature can be used to comfort people in the real
world because of its elements; the sounds that are heard, the things that can be seen and other things in
nature. In conclusion, nature really is

Child Master Research Paper
Many young children struggle with mastering the /r/ sound. This sound can be challenging for them to
master. Here are a few tricks you can use at home to help your child master the /r/ sound.
Understanding The Challenge
In order to help your child master the /r/ sound, you first have to understand why it is a challenging
sound for your child to master in the first place.
This sound is often considered one of the hardest to master sounds in the English language in large
part because three different actions have to be performed together in order to produce the /r/ sound.
The /r/ sound requires the use of one s lips, tongue and throat. All three of these ares of one s body
have to construct in order to make the /r/ sound correctly.
The key to helping your child master this skill is to focus on each action separately, and then put all
three together. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
When you make the /r/ sound, your lips actually make the shape of an O . Try staying the word
raccoon while looking in a mirror. You ll notice that your lips make an O shape as you say raccoon
and other words that start with the letter r, such as rabbit and rainbow.
You can help your child learn how to make this shape by teaching them how to make a fish face. In
order to make a fish face, one sticks their lips out and creates a O like shape with their lips. You also
pull in your checks a little bit as well.
By encouraging your child to make a fish face, you are providing your child with a visual image that
they can relate to and you are making the activity fun for your child.

Zeitoun Fight or Flight
Is it worth risking your life to protect your belongings and property when a Category 5 hurricane is
barreling towards your city? Is it right to disregard reports about a storm because in past experiences
the news has been wrong? In Zeitoun by Dave Eggers, a man named Zeitoun decides to let his family
evacuate New Orleans without him so that he can stay behind and protect his several homes, business,
and personal belongings from Category 5 hurricane Katrina. Once the hurricane passes, and he
survives, the city turns into chaos. The streets turn violent and the great city turns into a third world
country. The power goes out for weeks, and there is no water. The breakdown of all authority gets him
arrested and he is soon thrown behind bars. Zeitoun should have evacuated New Orleans with his
family for not only did he put his business in front of them, but also his shortsightedness almost left
his children without a father. Zeitoun s belongings and business items are all replaceable, but a father
is not.
Zeitoun s stubbornness blinds him from the true power of the storm for he constantly dismisses reports
on how strong Hurricane Katrina is. A couple of days before the hurricane his wife decides it is time to
leave. She tells him of her plans and he immediately turns her down. As his wife continues to bring up
the idea of evacuating he reminds himself of past hurricane threats, there seemed to be a half dozen
storms every August, and they were rarely worth the trouble. This

Juvenile Sex Offenders
When we hear the words sex offender we immediately think about a grown man who has sexually
abused a young girl or boy. We call them pedophiles or predators but we never stop to think that the
sex offender can also be a woman or even a young girl/boy who has sexually assaulted another minor.
This is mainly due to the fact that we don t hear about it in the news as much as when a grown man
commits the offense. In the world we live in today which is full of many social media sites we are now
becoming more aware of these types of offenses being committed and therefore coming to the
attention of law enforcement as well. For this paper I will be defining juvenile sex offenders as males
and females between the ages of 6 and 16 as many states already

What Is The Difference Between Zoo And Zoo
Zoos and National parks (Wild Sanctuaries) are hugely popular attractions for adults and children
alike, but are they actually good? How do you tell the difference when everyone uses the same words?
National parks or wild sanctuaries are large areas of crowd land set aside for native plants, animals
and the places in which they live. National parks protect places of natural beauty. National park is
home to many endemic kinds.
National parks are actually protected areas. IUCN definition of a protected area: A clearly defined
geographical space, recognized, dedicated and managed, through legal or other effective means, to
achieve the long term conservation of nature with associated ecosystem services and cultural values .
Zoos have the potential ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The controversy over sanctuaries often comes down to how much the animals are used to draw in
paying visitors (including volunteers). Reputable organizations will have a minimal or no contact
approach to their wildlife unless the animal is never going to be released. The main aim of sanctuaries
is to rescue, rehabilitate and release as many animals as possible, so those which maintain a hands off
approach are usually ones which are keeping these principles in mind. A lion cub which has been kept
in a fence and touched by hundreds of humans can almost never be released back into the wildlife.
Is there evidence of breeding?
Breeding wild animals in captivity adds to the problem of unwanted animals, which sanctuaries were
created to solve. The main problem with facilities which allow visitors to collaborate and connect with
cubs and other larger animals, is that they need to breed or buy a constant supply to keep visitors
coming. And what happens to these cute cubs as they grow up and become too large and unpredictable
to interact with tourists? Often old species are sold to private hunting ranches all over the world,
where their habituation to humans makes shooting them much easier.

Reflection About My Practicum Experience
This portfolio is reaching its end and it is now time for me to start reflecting about my practicum
period. Last year was a great year and a challenging one as well.
When the practicum period started I was lost, I did not know where to begin and what to do and it
took me time to adapt to the new challenges I faced. Once I sat down and considered my options I
began searching for schools to do the practicum. The city I live in has many disadvantages as far as
education; on the one hand, English is not taught in kindergarten so I ended up teaching in a Language
School during the kindergarten period; on the other, there are not many qualified English teachers and
this resulted on very scarce feedback from the teachers who observed my lessons.
As time went by, things did not get easier; it took me three months to be accepted in the primary
school because of some issues with the Ministerio de Educación . Luckily, I did not have such
problems in the secondary school.
This portfolio helped me realize my strengths and weaknesses as a teacher. As regards my teaching
skills is concerned, now that I re read all the lesson plans I made, I can say that I made some progress.
Firstly, I learn to create meaningful and effective contexts. As it can be seen in my firsts lesson plans
contexts always caused me problems. At first I considered that using a course book was more than
enough to create contexts, which is not the case. Course books are helpful inside the classroom but

There was going to be a massacre, and Dodd knew that was going to happen. Two hours later, the big
cannons began to fire. The 78th, the other Scottish regiment, was going to meet the Mattara troops.
The battle of Assaye had started. Eric and the rest of the 74th had been walking for over an hour under
cover of the ridgeline. Eric was the second line to enter the valley, but one of the first to see
movement. Eric shrugged away the thought of troops here, just a mountain goat he thought, just a
mountain goat. The Mattara force hiding in the valley should ve waited longer for more of the troops
to come in. Instead, the opened fire, just after the fourth row came in. Eric heard gunfire from both
sides of the valley, and saw where he was standing was a killing ground. The men all around him had
been shriveled down with bullets. Eric felt the smooth wind of a bullet go past his face, so he used his
training to fight against them. Men were firing all over the place, not aiming but shooting and
reloading as fast as they could. Eric tasted the salty gunpowder go down his throat when he kept
ripping cartridges open with his teeth as they taught him. He desperately needed a drink, but he kept
firing and reloading. It was a massacre around him. Men were dying left and right, files already on the
bodies and vultures and crows in the air. It would be a day of feasting for them.

The Post Retirement Benefit of Pension Plans
The Post Retirement Benefit of Pension Plans Marcus Womack Intermediate Accounting II (ACC
306) Professor Rick Kwan September 29, 2010 There are several different types of employment
compensation. Salaries and wages that people earn while they are working provide immediate
compensation for services provided and are a key factor in managing one s day to day life. However,
there are also various types of compensation that one can earn from employment after they have
retired from a company. The purpose of these post retirement benefits is to ensure livelihood for a
person when they are no longer able to work. A pension is one such plan. A pension is an arrangement

The market risk that exists is associated with the changes in the value of investments with the plans.
While both types of plans carry market risks, the risks associated with defined benefit plans lies on the
shoulders of the employer while those associated with defined contribution plans are assumed by the
employee. During periods of economic growth the cost of maintaining a pension fund decreases due to
the rising values of investments. Employers are able to contribute less and still meet future pension
obligations. However, when markets go down the employer has to contribute more money to the plan
to ensure that they are able to pay retirees their promised funds. Retirees receive the same dollar
amount of income regardless of market conditions. With defined contribution plans the risks and
rewards are reversed. Since the retiree both assumes risks and reaps benefits, periods of economic
growth cause the retiree s wealth and income to increase and negative market changes cause the
opposite to occur. Employers have agreed to a fixed amount and are unable to adjust their
contributions downwards. In essence, with this type of pension plan the employer does not take on the
risk of their obligation changing unexpectedly, the pension funds being inadequate to meet their
obligation or any added periodic expense of carrying a pension plan. Once retirement occurs, the
company s

Depression Is A Mood Disorder Which Prevents Individuals
Depression is a mood disorder which prevents individuals from leading a normal life, at work socially

serious medical illness that negatively affects how you feel, the way you think and how you act, but it
s mental disorder is characterized by a pervasive and persistent low mood that is accompanied by low
self esteem and by a loss of interest or pleasure in normally enjoyable activities. Depression affects an

Dysthymia may also be related to substance use. People with this type of chronic depression may
abuse drugs or alcohol in trying to relieve their hopelessness and other unpleasant symptoms.
Dysthymia in children may sometimes be related to anxiety disorders, learning disorders, attention
deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), conduct disorder, and mental retardation.
A combination of genetic, chemical, biological, psychological, social and environmental factors likely
contributes to the disorder. Depression is often a signal that certain mental, emotional and physical
aspects of a person s life are out of balance. Depression can affect anyone even a person who appears
to live in relatively ideal circumstances. Several factors can play a role in depression such as genetics,
personality, biochemistry and environmental. The causes of clinical depression are likely to be
different for different people. Personal factors, such as complicated life situations, a tragic family
history, childhood traumas, living in stressful environments for a long time, and other similar life
circumstances can lead to depressive conditions. Feldman 2E (2013) mentions that an assessment test
for depression called PHQ 9 was created to help create a general sense of degree of depression a
person was experiencing. The questions were based on your average mood in the last two weeks on
how often you been bothered by a certain problem.

The American Express ( Axp )
Background
In May 15 American Express (AXP) launched a coalition loyalty program called Plenti. Under
coalition loyalty programs, members can earn and redeem points by shopping at participating
merchants (e.g., Exxon, Macys, Rite Aid and ATT.) The program helps consumers to earn rewards
faster and lead to a higher level of engagement with a program which provides merchants an
opportunity to attract new customers and run cross promotional campaigns. However, the biggest
challenge in launching the program was signing up merchants and building an economic case for
shifting away from proprietary to collaborative program.
AXP was in negotiations with Rite Aid to join the program. Under their old loyalty program
(Wellness+), Rite Aid issued reward dollars (+UPs).The dollars could be used for purchase within
their stores over next two weeks, while in Plenti program the points (1 point = 1 cents) are valid for
three years and can be redeemed at any participating merchant. Rite Aid was concerned that if they
joined Plenti, customers will continue to earn points at Rite Aid but with more redemption options and
longer validity, the redemptions will be skewed towards other merchants especially the Grocer Partner.
In effect, they will be subsidizing a loyalty program for the Grocer.
Challenge
As part of the negotiations, our team was tasked to identify and propose Performance Guarantees to
address Rite Aid s concerns.

Essay on Aztec and Inca Religious Zeal
Aztec and Inca Religious Zeal
The Aztec and Inca peoples lived in militaristic and expansionist societies whose ideals were fueled by
their religious convictions. Expansionism was necessary for both societies to support their religious
beliefs. The religious zeal of these two civilizations became something that the leaders of the empires
could not control. These empires were built through ideologically driven conquests, which became the
cornerstones of their societies and something beyond the control of the rulers. Every imperialistic
nation has a motive for expansion. Military, materialism, and missionary are three of the biggest
motives foe expansion that imperialistic countries use to expand their borders. Conquests ... Show

This required the Mexicas to go out and make war with their neighbors and then ruthlessly take
prisoners of war for later sacrifice. It was believed that the strength from the sacrificed captives souls
would strengthen the sun in its ongoing battle with the forces of darkness (Conrad, 38). This need for
the sun to constantly be appeased set the Mexica people out on divine missions for sacrificial bodies
that took the form of imperial conquests. Mexica rulers flooded their lands with propaganda that
promoted their imperialistic religion. Most of the Aztec s art and literature was made up of this
propaganda, which created this religious fervor among the people that grew beyond the control of the
ruling elites. Oral literature, monumental art, written codices, and public and private ceremonies
instilled and continually reinforced belief in the divine struggle and the unceasing need for sacrificial
victims (Conrad, 51). Furthermore, religious zeal was strengthened by the guarantee that immortality
would be granted to warriors who died in the divine quest and increased social standing awaited those
who faired well in wars (Conrad, 52). The Aztec empire was conquering new lands but not staying to
govern them. Moctezuma II inherited not only a tradition of glorious military achievement but also its
product: a far flung, loosely organized, and totally unstable imperial hegemony (Conrad, 60).

Maya Lin s design really impressed the judges. Her design had many reasons why it became the

of the design for many reasons. The design entered by Maya Lin greatly impressed the judges. One
reason why it impressed them so much was the design itself. The model had a form that fit the scene
perfectly in the Mall. In the essay, Always to Remember: The Vision of Maya Ying Lin, by Brent
Ashabranner, states, It is uniquely horizontal, entering the earth rather than piercing the sky. Another
piece of evidence is when the essay states, The designer has created an eloquent place where the

Personal Statement Of Purpose By Mr. Thomas H. Huxley
STATEMENT OF PURPOSE The known is finite, the unknown infinite; intellectually we stand on an

reclaim a little more land , these are the lines aptly said by Mr. Thomas H. Huxley. The unyielding
quest for boundless knowledge has been my motivating and driving force throughout my career
pursuit. It s the same quest that prompted me for higher studies. The dedication to finding solutions
and a thirst for creating new tools to benefit humanity has molded me into a seeker of advanced
knowledge. I commence this statement with a bit of my personality which has a direct bearing on my
academic pursuits. I have always felt a strong need for achievement, which has been the motivating
force behind whatever I have achieved in my academic career. My consistently outstanding academic
record ever since my school years has resulted in numerous prizes and certificates of merit. My
strengths have been my quantitative and analytical abilities which instilled in me a special interest for
mathematics and physics. I had always been intrigued by science and used to spend a lot of time

What Are The Potential Barriers To Equality And Inclusion
1.2 Analyse the potential effects of barriers to equality and inclusion in own area of responsibility
Due to the amount of practices that can be sourced to implement into the working environment there
are a number of barriers that can occur, these can be put into categories:
Personal
These barriers relate to individuals having differing personalities, if someone has lack of self esteem
or poor interpersonal interactions and communication it can affect the way they treat others. They may
be unaware of how to support someone with needs that are new to them or struggle to identify
resources needed to support a client. If staff are unable to provide information to the residents or carry
out tasks they may need additional training to gather greater knowledge on equality, diversity and
inclusion; when staff are unable to acknowledge differences it can mean that individuals are
discriminated against unintentionally. This would then have an impact on relationships and rapport
built between staff and clients and discourage the residents to work with the staff if they believe they
are not being understood or their needs are not being met, this can have further impact on their mental
health and wellbeing, therefore it is crucial that staff and management work alongside residents and
their families or friends to ensure that their voice is heard especially when considering person centred
care, as many vulnerable adults may not have the capacity to challenge discrimination.

and are used for email, text messages, navigation, education, and as a payment tool. Consequently,
mobile devices carry a lot of personal data and, if stolen, that data can be more important than the loss
of the device. Most of the works on mobile devices security have focused on physical aspects and/or

Personality Stability and Change in Trait Theories of...
The evaluation of personality stability and change across the life span is largely determined by
theoretical beliefs. While some scholars have a more deterministic viewpoint and consider human
personality as fairly predictable and stable over time (e.g. biogenetic determinism), other theorists
view personality as fluid and highly malleable (e.g. behaviorism). The intermediate stance assumes a
bidirectional relationship between heredity and environment, which allows for both consistency and
change in personality. Moreover, some theorists introduce a third element to a biosocial model the
individual (e.g. transactional model of socialization). Evaluation of personality stability is difficult,

Don Juan). Allport used an idiographic approach that emphasized uniqueness of individuals,
evaluating categories of values within a person, instead of across groups. This approach reduces
researchers bias as the study is focused on investigation of traits presented in each individual, rather
than a theorized central trait (Burger, 2010). Allport was influential in conceptualizing of personality,
but his trait model is rather philosophical than scientific. Falsification of his hypothesis and
organization of psychological data under his theory is difficult, and, consequently, measurement of
personality stability or change is problematic. Contrary to Allport, personality analysis of Eysenck was
nomothetic in nature, with strong emphases on biological foundations of traits. To construct and
explain personality he used typical for the natural sciences approach that support generalization.
Through statistical evaluation Eysenck established two main bipolar dimensions of personality, which
he called supertraits extraversion/introversion (E) and neuroticism/stability (N). Later, he added
another dimension, psychoticism/superego functioning (P), which maintained less defined. According
to Eysenck, psychological disorders are found at the extremes of personalities, where neuroticism
determines predisposition to anxiety, hysteria, depression, and obsessive compulsive tendencies.
Psychoticism, per Eysenck,

Absolutist Definition Of Deviance
3. Deviance is defined in four ways, statistical, absolutist, reactivist, and normative. Statistical
deviance is a deviance that is infrequent in terms of its commanlity. Statistical deviance can be useful
because it allows a number to be placed on an area of deviance, this definition lacks because although
something is rare it does not necessarily make it a deviant. The absolutist definition deals with a
violation of standards . This definition is subjective, because standards and norms vary from place to
place it raises the questions of what standards, who makes the standards, and where these standards
apply. Reactivist is the next definition of deviance, this definition focuses on the reaction of others.

How Does Lee Use Prejudice In To Kill A Mockingbird
Today, many people are faced with different forms of discrimination and prejudice. To Kill a
Mockingbird by Harper Lee tells the story of Scout Finch as her family, friends, and herself as they
endure and encounter different types of prejudice such as getting ridiculed for being a tomboy, racism,
and reverse racism. Scout is considered a tomboy because she does not wear dresses because she can
do nothing in a dress (Lee 92) so instead she wears overalls or pants. She also goes to Finch s Landing
and starts to cuss around her Uncle Jack; when he asks her does she want to Grow up and be a lady,
(Lee 90) she tells him Not particularly. (Lee 90) When she does wear a dress for Aunt Alexandra and

Summary Of The Guitarist By Pablo Picasso
While visiting the Dallas Museum of art I saw many pieces of art and many different names of the
artist. Some of the artist I recognized and even more that I didn t. One artwork that I found very
extraordinary was The Guitarist by Pablo Picasso 1965. It s a unique oil on canvas painting that has
dimensions overall of 76 x 38 3/16 in. (1 m 93.04 cm x 96.98 cm). The Guitarist is located under
European Art 20th Century on the 2nd level. It is apart of The Karl and Esther Hoblitzelle Collection
and was gifted by the Hoblitzelle Foundation. This fine art has many remarkable qualities to be
discussed, more than just it being created by Picasso. Such as him almost always making artwork with
an intent for the viewers to interpret the deeper meaning. He I able to do this by incorporating
elements of art and principles of art in order for us to decipher the message. In this formal essay, we
will discuss how he used those elements and principle in The Guitarist, along with biographical and
contextual evidence for further understanding.
Pablo Picasso is well known for creating paintings that are considered to be abstract. He distances the
images he draws from anything of the natural world. The Guitarist is no stranger to this concept. He s
able to create this abstract art, by again, using elements of art; starting with his unique use of lines. In
this particular artwork, he uses contour lines; he draws an object as though the drawing tool he is
using is moving only along all the

Loyalists Dbq
On June 17, 1775 in Charlestown, Massachusetts, the wrangle between the colonists and the British
continued in the Battle of Bunker Hill. All in all, the British won, netherless of the severe damage the
colonists caused ( out of 2,200 troops, 268 British soldiers and officers had been killed; another 828
were wounded). However, this resulted in the colonists receiving an important boost of confidence and
a realization that they can t defeat Britain alone, therefore needed allies. Since the French lost to the
British in the Seven Year War, the colonists asked them to help them defeat the British. The French
agreed, but the only condition is that they have to leave the British Empire. In Philadelphia, on July 4,

Most of the loyalists served the British in the American Revolution (1775 1783).As American rebels
fought for independence from Britain, Loyalists supported Britain for many different reasons. A lot of
loyalists felt a personal loyalty to Britain. Some were afraid that revolution would bring chaos to
America. Numerous amounts of loyalists agreed with the rebels view that Britain has mistreated
America, but believed the solution could be worked out within the British Empire. Recent immigrants
from Europe also tended to support the Crown. Their reasons for becoming Loyalists were as varied as
their backgrounds. Some had strong ties with Britain: others had simply supported what turned out to
be the losing side. Local incidents, fear of change, self interest, political principles, emotional bonds
all of these influenced their decision to remain loyal to the Crown. As American Revolutionary War
raged on, the Loyalists became increasingly worried about their future as it became evident that the
cause of independence was going to succeed. Many of them began to scrutinize sailing for Britain
while many others considered alternative British Colonies as a destination for resettlement. It is
estimated that approximately 34,000 loyalists when to Nova Scotia, 2,000 to PEI, 10,000 to Ontario

A Company Review Of Domino s Will Be Presented
Introduction A company review of Domino s will be presented first to give a brief idea about what is
the company doing for business and what s the target. It is essential to know it because it can help to
know if the company has the right strategy and if it might be profitable. Then I will have an industry
review because the profit of the market can explain more of the differences in the large companies
than growth in market share do. A company can still grow despite losing share and take moderate risk
of retaliation if it gain market share in fast growing market. (Koller, 2010:62) So I need to know
whether the overall environment for pizza is positive and improving (for example, if there s an
improving economy with less discounting) After that, I will present the financial position of the
company by analysing its revenue, net operating profit less adjusted taxes(NOPLAT), invested capital
and free cash flow, return on investd capital (ROIC) and other ratios. Some fundamental analysis such
as its growth trend, capitalised operating lease will also be included. Last I will try to point out the
risks of the firm and also some recommendations to the managers. Company overview Domino s
Pizza Group plc is a leading company in the fast developing pizza delivery industry .Except its own
stores, it has the exclusive master franchise Domino s Pizza stores in the UK, Republic of Ireland,

Personal Reflection At Delaware State University
Introduction In today s time, social work practitioners work with and within various organizations and
communities often and the need for a small group or team is essential. These small groups are formed
together to accomplish work by increasing awareness and skill within the participation of each
member and leader. Some tasks that cause for a group to be drawn are some form of an instruction, an
opportunity or a perceived concern. In the social work aspect, this group can affect broader changes
for a client.

task groups; I just did not call it by that name. If an individual was ever a part of a planning team,

Our group thought that was a good idea and had begun ballooning our ideas with one another. It was
until we started to hear other group s skits and we felt that ours was too basic. A few moments before
we went up to present we quickly put the first idea into the parking lot and two members came up with
the teen pregnancy skit; I personally felt that that was a much better skit idea because there was more
to continue with instead of the first idea. On this task, I was more of a doer. Although, I did chart the
ideas down as the group was throwing them out. I also was a part of the balloon analogy, building on
the idea of our final skit. When one member said that we should do teen pregnancy I gave the idea that
the teens should also be in a group session with one another trying to find resources for each of their
situations. The entire group contributed ideas and honored one another s ideas; even when we made
the decision to use the parking lot technique it was not done in an evil or rude manner. On the last
task, we were given I can honestly say my entire group wanted no parts of it. We could not understand
for the life of us why we were given a task to make a song. We complained about it for what seemed
like a long time only to enjoy it in the end. I thought it was funny because

Populism Debate
It came as no surprise that Trump won the south easily. In the deep south, one would assume that
Trumps demagogic styled populism would give Trump more support than Romney received four years
prior; and in Mississippi and Alabama this may be true, Trump saw only a small increase or decrease
in vote share in Louisiana, South Carolina, and Georgia. In the South, Mississippi and Alabama had
the highest increase in vote share for Trump. Interestingly, Louisiana, a state very similar to both only
saw less than half a percent increase. An explanation for this could be that, compared with AL and
MS, Louisiana s population is more urban. Furthermore, the suburban Republicans seem to be less
motivated by Trumps candidacy. You can even see this effect ... Show more content on

In Mississippi and Alabama however, Trumps populism strongly appealed to each states respective
more rural population. Echoing a populist message tinged with winks and nods on racism, Trump
seemed like an easier fit for the state of George Wallace, and Ross Barnett. South Carolina is unique
from Louisiana, in the way that SC has more of a business Republican presence. And while race still
effects politics in South Carolina, racial politics aren t as harsh as LA, MS, or AL. Although SC has
the longest root to the Confederacy, the state managed to elect an Indian governor, and an African
American Senator. This, if anything, shows a there s a stark contrast between SC, MS, and AL. In
Georgia, the urban metropolis, Atlanta, is the anchor for Georgia politics; and the main reason why
Georgia seems to be breaking away from the staunchly republican mold of the region. In the deep
south states, Georgia had the highest decrease of Republican vote share. As Atlanta builds a strong
African American middle class, and embraces it s growing progressive populace, Georgia continues to
get bluer. Like the turn Virginia or North Carolina, GA is seeing a similar path toward becoming a

Richard Cory Analysis Essay
In Edwin Robinson s Richard Cory, one major theme is envy. I struggle as a person with envying
others and also with greed, so this poem related to me on that level, however, I have also experienced
the opposite, where people envy me without knowing my burdens. The poet tells a story, or tells more,
a parable, that uses irony and a bluntness that makes it so the reader can interpret it and relate it to
their own lives easily. What I think is the foremost of the ways Robinson relates to the reader, is
through playing on common emotions. In this specific poem, it is envy and those who possess the
envy are the villagers. It can be somewhat inferred from the first two stanzas, but in the third stanza it
nearly directly states their feelings by saying in lines 11 and 12, In fine, we thought that he was
everything / To make us wish that we were in his place. These villagers envy Richard Cory, who they
laud like a king even though he is no greater than them, only in wealth. Everyone has envied another
at some point and is familiar with that feeling and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The entire poem displays an ironic theme, but it first becomes apparent in the second stanza. The first
stanza Cory is described as a gentleman from sole to crown, / Clean favored and imperially slim, (line
3 and 4). Robinson uses words with a royal connotation to display just how much he is separate from
these villagers. But then in the fifth and sixth lines, he says, And he was always quietly arrayed, / And
he was always human when he talked, which slightly contradicts what was said about him in the prior
verse. Not only is that an example, but then also how Robinson ends the poem adds on to the irony of
it. The last stanza, filled with irony on its own, completes the poem by sharing that Cory kills himself.
The villagers wanted to be in this rich man s position, but did not realize that he also had struggles
even though he had money, that did not make his life

  • 3. Good By Muse The first song I am deconstructing is the original Feeling Good by Nina Simone. This song was recorded in 1965 when jazz, swing and soul music was very popular amongst American and African American artists. The song is classified as rock influenced by the styles of jazz, swing and soul. At the very beginning of the song, the low alto female voice is heard with no accompanying instruments. The singing style includes the use of melismas and vibrato. When the song reaches the chorus, brass instruments playing a low pitched riff are introduced with the piano playing high pitched notes. This is continued throughout the second verse. At the second chorus s, strings are added to the piano part. In the bridge, the singer is improvising over the chords ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This song was recorded in 2001, 36 years after the original was released. Muse is known as an alternative band, but this song s styles include heavy rock and progressive rock. At the start of the song, the singer is singing softly, with the overall texture of the song being quite thin. The voice is accompanied by a soft electronic sound and a soft guitar playing the riff. At around the chorus, the guitars begin to play loudly and the singing style becomes more aggressive. Drums are introduced thickening the texture of the song. These drums, along with the distorted guitars, loud singing style and the thick texture are the heavy rock influences found in the song. These heavy rock influences are found throughout the song. After the chorus, in the second verse, the singing style is changed to an almost electronic voice. The frequent changes of mood, dynamics, styles and tempo and the use of recording techniques are some of the progressive rock influences found in the song. These occur in the second verse of the song. The guitars back off and the texture thins with just the piano and drums playing softly. When the song comes to the second chorus, it returns to the same timbre and dynamics as the first chorus. At the bridge, improvisation by the lead singer is heard with just the bass guitar playing the riff. This decrescendos until there is nothing heard and the song ends. The use ... • 4. Operation Overload or D-Day Essay D Day, also famously known as Operation Overlord, actually stands for Day Day. It was termed Day Day since the Allied forces at the time did not want exact date to be known or set for the purpose of maintaining it to be a surprise attack. D Day was a well planned Allied invasion to gain foothold in France and the event took place on June 6, 1944 in order to liberate France which was, at the time, fully an Axis occupied area (Kemp 75). Undoubtedly and according to the Allied forces plan, it was an unexpected attack to the Germans, which increased the probability of success. Troops from several countries around the world worked together to carry out the D Day mission, including United States, Canada, Britain, and France. (Turner 44) The ... More specifically, Caraquet, as well as other ships, cleared paths to allow landing craft to reach the invasion beaches, according to the D Day plan while allowing warships to bombard enemy defences. Overall, the Royal Canadian Navy played a significant role in the Normandy landings by contributing vessels and sailors to the massive armada of 7000 Allied forces on the D Day. Canadians showed adept skills and abilities on D Day from what they had learned in their previous war experiences. Canada had only one experience in its national history of large scale combat on land before the D Day. The Canadian corps that fought on the Western Front in WWI left behind not only a formidable combat record but an intellectual legacy as well. Just as with the British army, the lessons of 1914 1918 and the techniques of 1918 set the framework within which Canadian professional soldiers thought about any future war. (Callahan 270) In addition, Canada and other Allied forces were able to successfully perform their battle tactics after experiencing a tremendous failure in the Battle of Dieppe. They attempted to make a successful raid on German occupied Europe over water, and then to hold Dieppe briefly; however, it was a disaster. As a result, hundreds of Canadian soldiers were killed and thousands were wounded or taken as prisoners. Despite this devastating failure, the Dieppe raid had provided ... • 5. All Quiet On The Western Front Nature Analysis Gaby Rizk Mrs. Trimble ELA 20F/10 2 27 October, 2016 Comfort in Nature In the horrible first war, soldiers often found peace and comfort in nature. In Erich Maria Remarque s novel All Quiet on the Western Front many soldiers are often drawn to nature to provide comfort and peace. Young Paul Baumer, the central character in the novel, frequently looks to nature for comfort in the midst of the war going on around him. Remarque reveals in this novel that it is possible to make a connection to something so pure while in the midst of something horrific and unnatural like war. Paul experiences the death of his close friend (Keimmerich), but in nature, he finds comfort and is empowered. This is shown when Paul states, I breathe as deep as I can, and feel the breeze in my face, warm and soft as never before (33). This passage shows how Paul looks to nature for comfort in times where he is sad or angry. Instead of thinking about his comrade s death, he goes outside and enjoys the nature around him. As a result of this he is no longer sad about his comrade s death. Another passage that shows how he becomes empowered through nature is, The earth is streaming with forces which pour into me through the soles of my feet (33). Here are a few tricks you can use at home to help your child master the /r/ sound. Understanding The Challenge In order to help your child master the /r/ sound, you first have to understand why it is a challenging sound for your child to master in the first place. The /r/ sound requires the use of one s lips, tongue and throat. All three of these ares of one s body have to construct in order to make the /r/ sound correctly. • 7. Zeitoun Fight or Flight Is it worth risking your life to protect your belongings and property when a Category 5 hurricane is barreling towards your city? Is it right to disregard reports about a storm because in past experiences the news has been wrong? In Zeitoun by Dave Eggers, a man named Zeitoun decides to let his family evacuate New Orleans without him so that he can stay behind and protect his several homes, business, and personal belongings from Category 5 hurricane Katrina. Once the hurricane passes, and he survives, the city turns into chaos. The streets turn violent and the great city turns into a third world country. The power goes out for weeks, and there is no water. The breakdown of all authority gets him arrested and he is soon thrown behind bars. Zeitoun should have evacuated New Orleans with his family for not only did he put his business in front of them, but also his shortsightedness almost left his children without a father. Zeitoun s belongings and business items are all replaceable, but a father is not. Zeitoun s stubbornness blinds him from the true power of the storm for he constantly dismisses reports on how strong Hurricane Katrina is. A couple of days before the hurricane his wife decides it is time to leave. She tells him of her plans and he immediately turns her down. As his wife continues to bring up the idea of evacuating he reminds himself of past hurricane threats, there seemed to be a half dozen storms every August, and they were rarely worth the trouble. This is mainly due to the fact that we don t hear about it in the news as much as when a grown man commits the offense. • 9. What Is The Difference Between Zoo And Zoo Zoos and National parks (Wild Sanctuaries) are hugely popular attractions for adults and children alike, but are they actually good? How do you tell the difference when everyone uses the same words? National parks or wild sanctuaries are large areas of crowd land set aside for native plants, animals and the places in which they live. National parks protect places of natural beauty. National park is home to many endemic kinds. National parks are actually protected areas. Zoos have the potential ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The controversy over sanctuaries often comes down to how much the animals are used to draw in paying visitors (including volunteers). Reputable organizations will have a minimal or no contact approach to their wildlife unless the animal is never going to be released. The main aim of sanctuaries is to rescue, rehabilitate and release as many animals as possible, so those which maintain a hands off approach are usually ones which are keeping these principles in mind. A lion cub which has been kept in a fence and touched by hundreds of humans can almost never be released back into the wildlife. Is there evidence of breeding? Breeding wild animals in captivity adds to the problem of unwanted animals, which sanctuaries were created to solve. The main problem with facilities which allow visitors to collaborate and connect with cubs and other larger animals, is that they need to breed or buy a constant supply to keep visitors coming. And what happens to these cute cubs as they grow up and become too large and unpredictable to interact with tourists? Often old species are sold to private hunting ranches all over the world, where their habituation to humans makes shooting them much easier. Are zoos good for ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Last year was a great year and a challenging one as well. When the practicum period started I was lost, I did not know where to begin and what to do and it took me time to adapt to the new challenges I faced. Once I sat down and considered my options I began searching for schools to do the practicum. The city I live in has many disadvantages as far as education; on the one hand, English is not taught in kindergarten so I ended up teaching in a Language School during the kindergarten period; on the other, there are not many qualified English teachers and this resulted on very scarce feedback from the teachers who observed my lessons. As time went by, things did not get easier; it took me three months to be accepted in the primary school because of some issues with the Ministerio de Educación . Luckily, I did not have such problems in the secondary school. This portfolio helped me realize my strengths and weaknesses as a teacher. As regards my teaching skills is concerned, now that I re read all the lesson plans I made, I can say that I made some progress. Firstly, I learn to create meaningful and effective contexts. Eric shrugged away the thought of troops here, just a mountain goat he thought, just a mountain goat. The Mattara force hiding in the valley should ve waited longer for more of the troops to come in. The men all around him had been shriveled down with bullets. Eric felt the smooth wind of a bullet go past his face, so he used his training to fight against them. Men were firing all over the place, not aiming but shooting and reloading as fast as they could. Eric tasted the salty gunpowder go down his throat when he kept ripping cartridges open with his teeth as they taught him. He desperately needed a drink, but he kept firing and reloading. • 12. The Post Retirement Benefit of Pension Plans The Post Retirement Benefit of Pension Plans Marcus Womack Intermediate Accounting II (ACC 306) Professor Rick Kwan September 29, 2010 There are several different types of employment compensation. Salaries and wages that people earn while they are working provide immediate compensation for services provided and are a key factor in managing one s day to day life. However, there are also various types of compensation that one can earn from employment after they have retired from a company. The purpose of these post retirement benefits is to ensure livelihood for a person when they are no longer able to work. A pension is one such plan. A pension is an arrangement paid in regular installments to provide people with an income when ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The market risk that exists is associated with the changes in the value of investments with the plans. While both types of plans carry market risks, the risks associated with defined benefit plans lies on the shoulders of the employer while those associated with defined contribution plans are assumed by the employee. During periods of economic growth the cost of maintaining a pension fund decreases due to the rising values of investments. Employers are able to contribute less and still meet future pension obligations. However, when markets go down the employer has to contribute more money to the plan to ensure that they are able to pay retirees their promised funds. Retirees receive the same dollar amount of income regardless of market conditions. With defined contribution plans the risks and rewards are reversed. Since the retiree both assumes risks and reaps benefits, periods of economic growth cause the retiree s wealth and income to increase and negative market changes cause the opposite to occur. Employers have agreed to a fixed amount and are unable to adjust their contributions downwards. In essence, with this type of pension plan the employer does not take on the risk of their obligation changing unexpectedly, the pension funds being inadequate to meet their obligation or any added periodic expense of carrying a pension plan. Once retirement occurs, the company s ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 14. The American Express ( Axp ) Background In May 15 American Express (AXP) launched a coalition loyalty program called Plenti. Under coalition loyalty programs, members can earn and redeem points by shopping at participating merchants (e.g., Exxon, Macys, Rite Aid and ATT.) The program helps consumers to earn rewards faster and lead to a higher level of engagement with a program which provides merchants an opportunity to attract new customers and run cross promotional campaigns. However, the biggest challenge in launching the program was signing up merchants and building an economic case for shifting away from proprietary to collaborative program. AXP was in negotiations with Rite Aid to join the program. Under their old loyalty program (Wellness+), Rite Aid issued reward dollars (+UPs).The dollars could be used for purchase within their stores over next two weeks, while in Plenti program the points (1 point = 1 cents) are valid for three years and can be redeemed at any participating merchant. Rite Aid was concerned that if they joined Plenti, customers will continue to earn points at Rite Aid but with more redemption options and longer validity, the redemptions will be skewed towards other merchants especially the Grocer Partner. In effect, they will be subsidizing a loyalty program for the Grocer. Essay on Aztec and Inca Religious Zeal Aztec and Inca Religious Zeal The Aztec and Inca peoples lived in militaristic and expansionist societies whose ideals were fueled by their religious convictions. Expansionism was necessary for both societies to support their religious beliefs. The religious zeal of these two civilizations became something that the leaders of the empires could not control. It was believed that the strength from the sacrificed captives souls would strengthen the sun in its ongoing battle with the forces of darkness (Conrad, 38). This need for the sun to constantly be appeased set the Mexica people out on divine missions for sacrificial bodies that took the form of imperial conquests. Mexica rulers flooded their lands with propaganda that promoted their imperialistic religion. Most of the Aztec s art and literature was made up of this propaganda, which created this religious fervor among the people that grew beyond the control of the ruling elites. Oral literature, monumental art, written codices, and public and private ceremonies instilled and continually reinforced belief in the divine struggle and the unceasing need for sacrificial victims (Conrad, 51). Furthermore, religious zeal was strengthened by the guarantee that immortality would be granted to warriors who died in the divine quest and increased social standing awaited those who faired well in wars (Conrad, 52). The dedication to finding solutions and a thirst for creating new tools to benefit humanity has molded me into a seeker of advanced knowledge. I commence this statement with a bit of my personality which has a direct bearing on my academic pursuits. I have always felt a strong need for achievement, which has been the motivating force behind whatever I have achieved in my academic career. My consistently outstanding academic record ever since my school years has resulted in numerous prizes and certificates of merit. My strengths have been my quantitative and analytical abilities which instilled in me a special interest for mathematics and physics. I had always been intrigued by science and used to spend a lot of time learning and knowing it. What Are The Potential Barriers To Equality And Inclusion 1.2 Analyse the potential effects of barriers to equality and inclusion in own area of responsibility Due to the amount of practices that can be sourced to implement into the working environment there are a number of barriers that can occur, these can be put into categories: Personal These barriers relate to individuals having differing personalities, if someone has lack of self esteem or poor interpersonal interactions and communication it can affect the way they treat others. They may be unaware of how to support someone with needs that are new to them or struggle to identify resources needed to support a client. If staff are unable to provide information to the residents or carry out tasks they may need additional training to gather greater knowledge on equality, diversity and inclusion; when staff are unable to acknowledge differences it can mean that individuals are discriminated against unintentionally. This would then have an impact on relationships and rapport built between staff and clients and discourage the residents to work with the staff if they believe they are not being understood or their needs are not being met, this can have further impact on their mental health and wellbeing, therefore it is crucial that staff and management work alongside residents and their families or friends to ensure that their voice is heard especially when considering person centred care, as many vulnerable adults may not have the capacity to challenge discrimination. ... While some scholars have a more deterministic viewpoint and consider human personality as fairly predictable and stable over time (e.g. biogenetic determinism), other theorists view personality as fluid and highly malleable (e.g. behaviorism). The intermediate stance assumes a bidirectional relationship between heredity and environment, which allows for both consistency and change in personality. Moreover, some theorists introduce a third element to a biosocial model the individual (e.g. transactional model of socialization). Allport used an idiographic approach that emphasized uniqueness of individuals, evaluating categories of values within a person, instead of across groups. This approach reduces researchers bias as the study is focused on investigation of traits presented in each individual, rather than a theorized central trait (Burger, 2010). Allport was influential in conceptualizing of personality, but his trait model is rather philosophical than scientific. Falsification of his hypothesis and organization of psychological data under his theory is difficult, and, consequently, measurement of personality stability or change is problematic. Contrary to Allport, personality analysis of Eysenck was nomothetic in nature, with strong emphases on biological foundations of traits. To construct and explain personality he used typical for the natural sciences approach that support generalization. Through statistical evaluation Eysenck established two main bipolar dimensions of personality, which he called supertraits extraversion/introversion (E) and neuroticism/stability (N). Later, he added another dimension, psychoticism/superego functioning (P), which maintained less defined. I struggle as a person with envying others and also with greed, so this poem related to me on that level, however, I have also experienced the opposite, where people envy me without knowing my burdens. The poet tells a story, or tells more, a parable, that uses irony and a bluntness that makes it so the reader can interpret it and relate it to their own lives easily. What I think is the foremost of the ways Robinson relates to the reader, is through playing on common emotions. In this specific poem, it is envy and those who possess the envy are the villagers. It can be somewhat inferred from the first two stanzas, but in the third stanza it nearly directly states their feelings by saying in lines 11 and 12, In fine, we thought that he was everything / To make us wish that we were in his place. But then in the fifth and sixth lines, he says, And he was always quietly arrayed, / And he was always human when he talked, which slightly contradicts what was said about him in the prior verse. Not only is that an example, but then also how Robinson ends the poem adds on to the irony of it. The last stanza, filled with irony on its own, completes the poem by sharing that Cory kills himself.
