On August 6th, 1945, the United States of America dropped the atomic bomb in Hiroshima,
Japan. This bomb decimated over two hundred thousand Japanese citizens, and caused the
Empire of Japan to surrender ending World War II. In his book Hiroshima, John Heresy reveals
the stories of six survivors, and how their lives were changed following the bombing. As you
might expect, the time succeeding the attack was rather hectic. Even more so for physicians and
nurses, as thousands of people were rushing towards them for medical assistance. Two
physicians, Dr. Masakazu Fujii, and Dr. Terufumi Sasaki, have survived to tell their stories. Dr.
Fujii ran a hospital that overlooked a river. When the bomb exploded, Dr. Fujii was blown off
his feet and landed in the water along with the remnants of his hospital. Dr. Sasaki was much
luckier than Dr. Fujii, because he remained uninjured and immediately started caring for those
close to him. At the time the bomb exploded, Reverend Mr. Kiyoshi Tanimoto is helping a friend
move his daughter s belongings and Father Wilhelm Kleinsorge, who was recently suffering

was top dog on the battle field during the war but especially at the beginning of the war. This
statement although true is not because the common belief that they were built better than other
nation s tanks but because German strategy and the preparedness of the tanks themselves and the
crews operating them was vastly better than competing nations such as France and the Soviet
Union. The first tank was initially invented in World War 1 by Britain. Tanks in the First World
War represented a brilliant idea but a poor execution. The tanks of that war moved at about a
walking speed and constantly needed repairs because of how undependable they were. After the
war however the Tanks offensive potential was recognized and each nation began research into a
better tank to avoid the deadlock imposed on the last war due to modernized weapons and old time
tatctics. Luckily tanks are in fact vehicles and were often made by similar plants as cars were, this

Grossman s model states that a person utility is based on health (H) and other non health related
goods (Z) that the person consumes. The production possibility frontier for Grossman model shows
the tradeoff between home good production (Z) and health (H). Unlike usual production possibility
frontiers, an individual needs an optimal level of H to maximize consumption of Z goods.

society. Overcrowding of prison populations and the high recidivism rates have created a cycle of
incarceration for ex offenders as they come and go through correctional systems. Each year, more
than 600,000 ex offenders are released back into communities nationwide from state and federal
prisons (Petersilia, 2003). It is estimated that nearly 95% of state ex offenders will be released from
prisoninto communities where they often find it difficult to obtain employment due to criminal
records, limited education, and minimal vocational skills (Holzer, Raphael, Stoll, 2003).
The process of prisoner reentry will be examined along with the policies surrounding the Indiana
Reentry Facility, the traits of the Indiana Reentry Facility inmates, environmental factors that
caused prisoners to return, and the financial situation of the communities where the highest number
of returning prisoners occurs, in order to determine if the Indiana Reentry Facility actually reduces
recidivism. Past studies have shown that is suggested that roughly 70 percent of prison inmates
released are re arrested within the first three years post release and almost 50 percent are ultimately
returned back to prison. Still, most of the research now focuses only on recidivism and ignores that
recidivism is currently affected by post prison reintegration and adjustment back into the
