My Personal Preference For My Research Process
My personal preference for my research process begins by reading the instructions of the assignment
thoroughly. This is residual effect of having been tricked once during a test in middle school.
During her instructions, the teacher mentioned several times that we need to read the test
instructions and all the questions thoroughly before starting. However, as I was concerned with the
time allocated for the test, I skimmed through the instructions and began writing. Well, turns out it
was a one of those tests that the last question instructed to just write your name in the first page
and hand it in. Lesson learned, the hard way of course. Consequently, I always begin every test,
project and assignment by reading all the instructions, twice, before I ever begin the task that is
being asked of me.
Once I have read the assignment instructions, I would search the terms listed in the question, for
this portion of my approach a simple engine search would suffice. I will not to use the results of
the search as a basis for my academic writing, but to simply familiarize myself with what is being

cherished because it was a familyheirloom. Dee has always had a lot of power over her family

Dee. This is clearly illustrated by Dee s selfish behavior, high standards, and her her ignorance
about her family s heritage. Dee s superiority stems from the fact that she sets high standards for

John Steinbeck was born on February 27, 1902 in Salinas, California. John decided to be a writer
at the very young age of fourteen. John used to lock himself in his bedroom and to be alone and
write stories and poem (John Steinbeck Biography). John was the first in his family to have a
striving desire to become a writer, his father did everything he could to keep food on the table and
his mother was a former school teacher. To do this he worked several jobs at a time, he never got to
enjoy what he does like Steinbeck went on to do. John went on to try to be a freelance writer, so he
work as a construction worker and a newspaper reported in New York, New York. He wrote his first
novel called The Cup of Gold while living in Lave, Tahoe working as a caretaker. John went on to

grew Streptococcus pneumoniae that was sensitive to penicillin and ceftriaxone with a minimum
inhibitory concentration (MIC) of less than 0.03 mcg/ml. She was initially hypotensive despite
being placed on vasoactive medications for treatment of refractory shock. During her PICU course,
it was she was noted to develop dry gangrene of the distal phalanges on her upper (Figure 1A) and

Marvell and John Donne expressed their feelings through poetry. Both John Donne, born in 1572
and Andrew Marvell, born in 1621 in England, are known for their ideas of metaphysical poetry.
Metaphysical poetry is a persuasive poem that uses a conceit. It focuses on imagery, paradoxes,
arguments, philosophy and religion. Andrew Marvell s To His Coy Mistress and John Donne s A
Valediction: Forbidding Mourning, focus on the theme of love, which was trending at that time.
Although both poems justify the importance and essence of love, the tone differs in each poem
making them distant from each other. The figurative language also makes the two poems different.
However, they both focus on the idea of Carpe Diem, enjoying the moment and not worrying about
the future. Through comparing these poems, the differences and similarities result in the true

I. Introduction
In recent years, there has been an increase in same sex couples applying to adopt children at both
infancy and from the foster care system. Although society s perception of a family normally
consists of a mother and father, the times are changing. According to the United States 2000
Census, this societal perception of a normal family, referred to as the nuclear family , only
represents less than 24%, of households in the U.S. The notion of the nuclear family is ever
changing in today s society, and with this change must come a more open view of who can adopt

By allowing same sex couples to adopt, children who would normally linger and age out of the
foster care system can be put into permanent and loving homes.
II. Parenting Capabilities of Same Sex Couples One of the main reasons that some individuals
feel that same sex couples should be banned from adopting children is due to the belief that they
are incapable. There are various amounts of scientific research compiled by the American Civil
Liberties Union that shows that the parenting practices of same sex couples are just as good as
those of heterosexual couples. The ACLU released a document entitled Too High a Price: The
Case Against Restricting Gay Parenting. In this document there is a detailed overview of the
scientific research done in this field. This research focuses on the psychological, emotional, social,
and cognitive developments of children raised by same sex couples, the quality of parenting of
these couples, and the sexual and gender development of the child or children in their home. In
looking at these key factors, researchers were better able to make comparisons between same sex
couples and heterosexual couples. These studies used various groups of people including single
lesbian mothers, gay fathers, heterosexual couples, and heterosexual single parents. In order to
conduct the studies, researchers used psychological tactics, which included both interviews and
intensive examinations of both the parents and children.

The Culture Of The Word Culture Essay
There are many laity use of the word culture that gets thrown around in day to day conversation
amongst our peers. Culture is used to define certain aspects of our lives and how we live on a
daily basis. There are some that believe that they do not possess a culture. There are others who
feel that we all live our own individual unique culturein our lives. However, being that culture is
such a broad subject, the only way to define it is to operationalize its context and attempt to try
and understand it based on a universal definition. Sergiovanni and Corbally s (1986) definition of
culture includes a system of values, symbols, and shared meanings in a group that includes
embodying these values, symbols, and shared meanings in ritualize practice. Using this particular
definition of culture, the small island of Okinawa is enriched with it. Their way of day to day
lifestyle, geographical terrain, as well as their militaryhistory can all be analyzed through their
culture as well as provide information in terms of our current military jargon for the benefit of the
United States Army.
Culturally, Okinawans separate themselves from the association of the Japanese culture, even
though they are still considered a territory of Japan. The differences in their landscape, their way of
life, language, and even their societal infrastructure are the basis of their adamant separation from
Japan. Its geographical complexities are also what make Okinawa unique from its neighboring
