Once upon a time, my computer burned out and shut down before my very eyes, leaving me
without so much as a goodbye or any sense of closure. Instead, I sat on my computer chair
mystified and heartbroken. After all these years, why couldn t it have told me it wasn t feeling
the same? At first I denied the possibility of my computer being gone. It s tired. It needs to rest, I
would say to my parents, whom tried to assure me it was as gone and never rebooting. It was
only then that I started to accept my computer s death as my fault. I hadn t been listening to its
alerts for a Norton Security update and I was using it at all hours of the day without giving it a
moment s rest, resulting in its heinous fate. I never payed attention to my computer, because I
was too busy using it for the internet, my mind completely absorbed on the many dalliances of
the World Wide Web. To say my computer s ability to let me access media was impactful on my
life is an understatement....considering how much I mourned its passing. Truthfully, media
content allowed me comfort. Unlike other teenagers at the time, I was never attached to social
media hubs like Myspace or Facebook. In fact, I hardly ever used these platforms beyond playing
games. Although that could be explained away as a result of my own social anxieties at the time;
the fact of the matter was that I wasn t interested. In the beginning, namely freshmen and
sophomore year, I tried my best to be like the other kids.

One of my first impressions of the story White Tigers by Maxine Hong Kingston is that the story
that she shares with the reader is what I believed to be a dream that she had. I thought that this

took her father s place in battle when he was chosen to fight. Not only was she brave, and
thoughtful, she was the first ever woman to go to battle and live. Then I went back to White
Tigers, and saw that after the fantasy that she created was stated, she reflects back on her
childhood which was just merely depressing. After reading both the Ballad, and White Tigers, I
realized that she injected herself into this fantasy because she wanted to rebel as did Mu Lan.

hazards before they happened. Brenner devised a system of scenarios that could occur with
multiple factors for each element. The system is basically designed on a cause effect relationship.
One thing happens because of another which leads to a result (Haight, 2012). This model was used
to develop an emergency action plan for a small community surrounding a gas station.
The first step to any emergency action plan is to conduct a hazard assessment and the best way

scientific hypothesis as to what biosocial elements of crimeestablishes an individual as a criminal.
In 1987, while conducting an autopsy of the brigand Villella, Lombroso experienced an unusual, but
interesting epiphany while examining the skull of criminal Villella Giuseppe. Cesare Lombroso
discovered an indention at the base of the skull that he perceived to be commonly shared only
amongst apes.
