Various advantages are seen by the patient with laparoscopic surgery versus

There are two sorts of laparoscope:
(1) a telescopic rod lens system, that is mostly connected to a video
camera (single chip or three chip), or (2) a digital laparoscope in which
the charge-coupled device is placed at the end of the laparoscope.
Laparoscopic surgery incorporates operations inside the abdominal or

surgery has been adopted by various surgical sub-specialties including
gynecologic surgery, gastrointestinal surgery and urology. This has proven
to be beneficial in reducing post-operative morbidities such as wound
infections and incisional hernias (mostly in obese patients.
Laparoscopic techniques have also been advanced in the field of veterinary
medicine. Due to the relative high cost of the equipment required, however,
it has not become commonplace in most traditional practices today but
rather limited to specialty-type practices.
