Using Trimble TX9 terrestrial laser scanner my surveying team scanned an active runway in Western Australia to a tolerance spec of 3mm. The teams were working a live site providing aircraft right of way meant the teams had to setup and takedown scanner and targets to yield to any aircraft movements around the site and airspace. Surveyors took a ground based approach over drone UAS to maintain tighter vertical control than can be achieved using drone capture. We were tasked with looking for deviations, rutting and areas to derive Pavement Condition Index (PCI) criteria for their asset.
Once the data was captured surveying teams utilized TopoDot to assemble the raw scans into a consolidated model. They then attempted to use the pavement roughness algorithms in the software against the close to 3.4b points of classified data but had to split the datasets into halves and quads in order for the processing runs to complete. The Bentley product has an inbuilt “Road condition tool” which reports on pavement roughness characteristics but has preset expected pavement widths, roads not runway widths, set in the software. We explained to our surveyors that the algorithms might run faster in another product. It allowed us to explore FME as a point cloud processing workflow using feature tables functionality to quickly generate the statistics required for reporting deliverables using the entire dataset in one process.

The focus of this paper is to develop and illustrate the working of a geographic information systems GIS based methodology to estimate congestion and assess reliability of links on a road network considering both recurring and nonrecurring congestion components by time period of the day.
The estimated reliability can be used to identify optimal travel paths and make better routing decisions

This case study investigates a situation at the University of Florida regarding the impacts of a new parking structure on Museum Road in Gainesville, Florida. The increased traffic to and from the new structure would access this facility via a two-way stop-controlled intersection, but alternatives are being analyzed to determine the best solution for this and adjacent intersections along Museum Road. Pedestrian, bicycle, and transit-related activities are high within this section of Museum Road, and so the solution must be sensitive to and consider all travel modes.

Automatic Computer-Aided Design (AutoCAD 2D) engineering drawing is an important
component in BFPD courses. This software is commonly practiced by students for the product
design process as part of the project development. However, there is a lack of quality in 2D
engineering drawing that affects the students’ prototype making process and project progression.
This paper intends to identify the problems that weakened the students' performances of the
AutoCAD 2D engineering drawings. Data were collected from the students’ examinations,
assignments, and independent projects. Semi-structured interviews were also conducted with the
students.

work process :
The first step was to digitize the map. This involves scanning the physical map and converting it into a digital
format that can be viewed and edited on a computer.
• Once the map was digitized, it was imported into the ArcGIS software for further processing.
• ArcGIS is a powerful geographic information system (GIS) software that allows users to analyse, manage, and
display spatial data. It can be used to create maps, perform spatial analysis, and manage geographic data.
• The digitized map was then overlaid with bathymetry data from GEBCO, a web site that provides global
bathymetry data. This allows the examination of changes in the seabed over time and create a map showing
the evolution of the seabed between 1886 and 2022.
• The results were then presented in a Microsoft Excel spreadsheet, allowing for easy visualization and analysis
of the data.
