Title Vii
There are many employment laws out there but ill discuss about three of them and what are the
consequences if the company did not comply. The employment laws I will discuss are the Title VII of
the Civil Rights Act 1964, Americans with Disabilities Act 1990, and the Uniformed Services
Employment and Reemployment Rights Act. My next topic would be how an organization might
structure their policies, practices and culture to ensure compliance.
The first law I will discuss is the Title VII of the Civil Rights Act 1964. This law is the most important
anti discrimination law. It was initially intended to end the discrimination in the workplace against
African Americans which has been brought to national attention by the civil rights movement ... Show

This law is really good to me especially when I was in the US Navy reserved. The Uniformed Services
Employment and Reemployment Rights Act is to protect the civilian employment of active and
reserve military personnel in the United States when called to active duty. These law applies to all
services in the military including reserved components. The USERRA clarifies that when a service
member of the armed forces was called to active duty, he or she will retain their current job in the
civilian sector and furthermore the position will be on hold until the service member is back from their
active duty (USERRA, 2016). I can personally say that this law is good for service members who got
activated especially for reservist personnel who were activated. When I was activated for two months
active duty while in the reservist, my employer assured me that I will still get that position when I
return from service. I felt reassured that I will keep my old job when I return from my detachment.
The consequences for not complying with the Uniformed Services Employment and Reemployment
Rights Act will be dealt with the Department of Labor (USERRA, 2016). If found guilty, the company
would compensate the victim with court fees and compensate for any loss wages and benefits. Once
again, the company would also loss income and revenue and the trust of their employee for unfair
treatment.

Feb 10 Hamilton Case
MEMO
This memo is regarding Hamilton Corporation and the fraud that occurred. When people make
decisions they don t always do it with the right mindset. There are limitations in our judgment
processes and we can identify methods to mitigate bias and improve judgment (KPMG Judgment
Framework). The four common tendencies that cause limitations in our judgment processes are,
availability, confirmation, overconfidence, and anchoring. In this memo I will explain each of the four
tendencies, talk about which tendency I believe to have manifested in the Hamilton case, clarify issues
relating to auditing the warranty reserve and describe the alternatives that should be considered in
auditing the warranty reserve, and finally provide factors that ... Show more content on

Background on Hamilton
Hamilton (the Company) was a subsidiary of Motor Company (MC). In 1999 the Company spun off
from MC and incorporated. After the separation MC informed the Company that they owed $350 $800
million in warranty claims related to sales that occurred prior to the separation in 1999. Hamilton s
management believed that any warranty claims related to sales prior to the separation should be
limited to the reserve amount that was agreed upon separation. MC wanted the full payment for what
they owed relating to warranty claims. MC remained Hamilton s largest client and because of that,
Hamilton s management was motivated to find a solution that would appease MC. Management
realized that in paying anything over $100 million to MC would cause a significant reduction in
operating income. For this reason, management had significant incentives to mask the true level of
warranty expense in order to meet analysts forecasts. Management made the decision to report
favorable results, no matter what.
The tendencies or bias manifested in Hamilton Corporation
Hamilton s auditor employed multiple tendencies. Confirmation was used in the scheme to support
management when they obtained a letter from the Company s actuary that provided the reasonable
range for pension assumptions that had been made in the past. Management also convinced MC to
allow the meeting minutes between the two companies to

How Did Galileo Galilei Contribute To Science
Galileo Galilei was a remarkable figure in the history of science. Due to his studies in science, the
inventor faced the wrath of the Roman Inquisition. Galileo Galilei is the most significant scientist in
modern science, because of his accomplishments in science and the obstacles he overcame for the
sake of science. Some accomplishments include founding the branch of material physics (also known
as kinematics or the science of the strength of materials), creating a higher definition telescope, in
order to prove the heliocentric theory true, and disproving many of Aristotle s teachings in astronomy
and physics.

This is because of his great revisions to the telescope, after hearing about the invention of a telescope,
Galileo decided to create his own. He made a 32 power refracting telescope. With this revision Galileo
was able to prove Ptolemy s theory of a geocentric universe wrong, with the proof of sunspots and
phases of Venus. He also was able to prove that the Moon wasn t smooth, as Aristotle thought
otherwise. Also, he was the one who realized that the Milky Way was created by multiple stars visible
to the naked eye. However, his most famous discovery would probably be the four Galilean moons of

I Love Lucy
In the book Harvard design school guide to shopping, Louise Wyman explores the notion of
relationships between humans and commodities through The project of modernity ... the Crystal
Palace (Wyman, L. 2001, p.229). Wyman suggests that the construction of The Crystal Palace in 1851
begun to break down the strict relationship between commodities, such as clothing, and social class.
Both the way in which the building was constructed and the events taking place within the building
support this claim.
Unconventional design concepts and material use that incorporate the use of science, technology and
nature were a key development during this time period. In Hitchcock s words, Paxton s scheme owed
its aesthetic qualities to factors hitherto unrecognised the repetition of units manufactured in series, the
functional lace like patterns of criss cross trusses, the transparent definition of space, the total
elimination of mass and the sense of tensile, almost live, strength as opposed to the solid and
gravitational quality of previous masonry architecture (Mordant Crook 1987, p.107). This suggests
Paxton was challenging traditional architecture of the period, offering a fresh perspective. The ...

1. State laws provide a patient with access to his or her Health Information. Insurance companies and

very careful in how they use this information on patients. Patient privacy laws govern access and use

Explanation Of A Speech By Elizabeth I And Elizabeth
This primary source, is a historical text, a transcription of a speech by Elizabeth I, Queen of England.
In fact, there are at least two main versions of this important speech. To understand the importance of
the speech we must remember that at that time England and Spain had intermittent conflicts. At this
period Spain, was ruled by Philip II and England was ruled by Elizabeth I. The relations between
Elizabeth I and Philip II had always been tough, with a lot of disagreements: political, economic and
religious. Philip had even prepared the invasion of England since the beginning of his reign. We know
that by 1574 he had already prepared a fleet, under Pedro Menendez de Avilés, composed by 300
boats and around 30.000 men in Santander, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Leicester himself says that the queen s visit so enflamed the harts of her good subjects as I think the

other contemporary writers testify to the same effect: Camden and Stow. Camden says that it was
incredible . . . how much she strengthened the hearts of her captaines and souldiers by her presence

second spirit of love, loyaltie, and resolution into every souldier in her Armie; The pictures we see

The Space Shuttle Disaster And 12
The first space shuttle, Enterprise, launched in 1977. NASA couldn t have been more proud of their
accomplishments and looked forward to the years to come with many new ideas, experiments to try
and space to explore. While this might have been the case for a few years following, NASA couldn t
have predicted what was to happen on the mornings of January 28, 1986 and February 1, 2003... or
could they? Disaster struck for both the Challenger and the Columbus space shuttles. Even though
both scenarios were different, they were one in the same when it came to the reasoning behind why it
happened. The ideas of cultural change, ethics of organization and decision making were all to blame.
Introduction It has been 29 years since the Challenger space shuttle disaster and 12 years since the
Columbia space shuttle disintegrated during reentry. With proper precautions and improvements to
both shuttles, these incidents could have been avoided.
Summary
The Challenger exploded on its tenth flight during mission STS 51L, killing all seven crew members.
The explosion occurred 73 seconds after the shuttle took liftoff, and the reason behind the explosion
were the faulty O rings. There were predictions that if the O rings were to malfunction due to the cold
temperatures, the rockets could explode before the shuttle took off from the Launchpad (Miller 79).
There had been speculation that the O rings could fail, but those opinions were quickly pushed aside
as the crew boarded with the

Slavery In African American History
Modern and historical forces combine to keep the racial hierarchy in the dominant cultures control.
Historically, slavery was diplomatically protected within our constitution safeguarding the control and
ownership of African Americans. The three fifths compromise written into the constitution in 1787,
safeguarded slaveowners by greatly increase the representation and political power of slave owning
states (Laws, 2017). Slavery was widespread within the southern states until the year of 1865, when
slavery and involuntary servitude were abolished, except for those duly convicted of a crime. Between
1866 and 1870, through congress a radical reconstruction era was executed ensuring guaranteed
freedom and civil rights to former slaves. These turn of events, incensed southern slave owners giving
rise to white Supremacy and the Ku Klux Klan. Such historical events and accounts help us
understand present conditions for people of color through recognition of the enduring struggle of those
who have fought slavery and racism. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Lynching and stake burnings became a common occurrence and African Americans became objects of
restraint and torture. Convict leasing and forced labor (Jim Crow Law) became an economically stable

of these hidden histories show the effects of history on a people that were sanctioned by law
enforcement and citizens. For this reason, withholding historical and current events contribute to

Common Examples Of Child Protective Service
In 2002 there was estimated to be nearly 3 million referrals to Child Protective Services (CPS) in the
United States, and about 5 million in the year 2000 (McWey Mullis, 2004). Children who are living in
environments that put them in harms way, depending on the situation are generally removed from their
home and placed into a foster home in attempts to keep them safe (Carlson, Egeland Lawrence, 2006).
Common examples of Child Protective Service (CPS) referrals include physical abuse, sexual abuse,
and psychological maltreatment (McWey Mullis, 2004). In 2001 it was estimated that nearly 542,000
children were in foster care in the United States and that the number of children in foster care
exceeded the number of available foster homes by nearly 30 40% (Carlson, Egeland Lawrence, 2006).
For many children in foster care, reunification with biological parent or parents is the ultimate goal
(McWey, Acock Porter, 2010). In 60% of foster care cases, reunification with biological parents occurs
(Carlson, Egeland Lawrence, 2006) .In order for reunification to be possible, or to help determine
whether reunification can occur, children and biological parents have scheduled visits with trained
supervisors who monitor the visits (Haight, Kagle Black, 2003). The duty of the supervisor is to look
at the parent child interactions and determine whether or not they are appropriate. Supervised
visitation has been shown to have positive and negative effects on children who are

Have you ever been a victim of a cyber crime? Something as simple as a weird pop up that won t go

this malicious damage that causes you much grief isn t so much the work of a hacker, per se, but more
the work of a cracker or a script kiddie . Now you re confused right? Well let s just say everyone who

These are the people setting the very negative example of computer literate people around the world.
They know no morals, or ethical value behind what they do, but to compromise, and cause havoc upon
the end user computing world. Hackers fall into two categories: Black Hat and White Hat Hackers.
While Black Hat hackers illegally crack into systems for malicious reasons, their White Hat
counterparts probe and test for security flaws and IT research (Black Hat/White Hat). The term hacker
can be explained as a person who enjoys learning the details of a computer system and how to stretch
their capabilities beyond a person who learns the bare minimum to use a computer (Palmer). By this
definition, a hacker can be anyone who is willing to expand their knowledge with a computer to better
benefit themselves, or more importantly, others. Many people disregard the ethical sense to hacking
and believe all forms of hacking to be unjust, which is untrue, but hacking can be very beneficial.
White Hat, or Ethical Hacking can be very useful by having security professionals attempt to break in
to explore and try to exploiting systems to discover a loop hole or security flaw in a network. This is
similar to having independent auditors come into an organization to verify its bookkeeping records.
These White Hat hackers are usually experts in their field and use the

Computer ( Pc ) And Macintosh ( Mac )
Since the 1990s, Personal Computer (PC) and Macintosh (Mac) users have waged a war about which
system is better. At first PC users said Macs had under powered processors and buggy software, while
Mac users only stated Windows 98. Today the argument is much more complicated, and no one is
going to win this war. Mac users will say the security, usability, and design are better, while the PC
users will say the price, software compatibility, and choice is better. So there has always been this war
about what is better, Mac or PC, but in the end it comes down to personal preference. PC and Mac

Marketing Strategy For Vincor s Project Twist
Executive Summary The following plan outlines a marketing strategy for Vincor s Project Twist which
is the launch of a new alcoholic beverage in the refreshment category. The decision concerns details
regarding the positioning and marketing issues such as labels, bottles, prices, carriers and flavours
required to create a new refreshment beverage to bring forth in the market. Given that the environment
of the refreshment category is vigorously shifting, it is extremely difficult to develop a product that
will outstand the market for a length of time. However, the market is exceedingly attractive due to the
possibility of achieving high sales volume through innovation. This is a great opportunity for Vincor
to expand and generate revenue. The product will be targeted towards both genders in the younger
demographic within the age group of 19 44 years of age. It will be distinctive from competitors
through exciting flavours, creative packaging, and enticing promotional activities giving us a
competitive edge. With an edgy look and premium quality, this product is sure to create a statement. It
is designed to meet that needs and wants that consumers expressed are not being met by coolers
presently in the market. It has something for everyone, from those who are looking for a healthy

Logical Fallacies Summary and Application Essay
Logical Fallacies Summary and Application
What do you see when you look at Begging the Question, Hasty Generalization, and Appealing to
Emotion? When you initially look at these three categories they may not seem to have too much in
common. However, when you look deeper you will see that in fact, they are all different types of
logical fallacies. Logical fallacies are errors of reasoning, errors that may be recognized and corrected
by prudent thinkers (Downes, 1995). The following quote helps explain why logic is important to us
in today s society. Logic is not everything. But it is something something which can be taught,

Small samples will tend to be unrepresentative. The general idea is that small samples are less likely
to contain numbers proportional to the whole population.
Since Hasty Generalization is committed when the sample is too small, it is important to have samples
that are large enough when making a generalization. The most reliable way to do this is to take as
large a sample as is practical. If the population in question were not very diverse then a very small
sample would suffice. If the population were very diverse then a fairly large sample would be needed.
The size of the sample also depends on the size of the population. A Hasty Generalization, like any
fallacy, might have a true conclusion. However, as long as the reasoning is fallacious there is no
reason to accept the conclusion based on that People often commit Hasty Generalizations because of
bias or prejudice. People also commonly commit Hasty Generalizations because of laziness or
sloppiness. It is very easy to simply leap to a conclusion and much harder to gather an adequate
sample and draw a justified conclusion. Therefore, avoiding this fallacy requires minimizing the
influence of bias and taking care to select a sample that is large enough.
A great example of this fallacy that everyone has probably experienced is when a teenager is talking to
their parent and says, But why can t

Differences Between New York City and Winston Salem North...
Having lived in two different cities for some years gives me an insight to what the difference between
the life in a big city and countryside are all about.
The city of New York is significantly different from the city of Winston Salem in North Carolina.
Some of their dissimilarities can be seen in lifestyle, transportation, job availability and crime rate.
The life style and enthusiasm in Winston Salem is slow pace. Some days, mostly on weekends, the
roads are almost empty; you see few or no car on the streets. You seldom find people of different
cultures and ethnicity. Life in Winston Salem is boring because you do not have a wild variety of

I t is not easy to get around in Winston Salem without a car as there is no good public transportation.
You need to have a car to guarantee a suitable livelihood. There are less traffic and you are sure to get

Free Speech Persuasive Speech
What is free speech? Does the term free speech cover offensive words? Painful ones? Words that
disrespect others? What about objectionable, or even wrong beliefs? When is speech illegal? What is
exactly meant by free speech? According to Rampell, the term free speech includes hate speech , and
is therefore protected by the first amendment (np). This means that even messages we don t like, agree
with, feel uncomfortable about, or even are disgusted by, are legal. Unfortunately, many college
students consider harmful words an assault, and some students believe that such verbal attacks can and
should be met with violence (French np). Students and speakers today are discriminated against in
classrooms and other scenes where free speech and debate should be especially cherished. In 2017
alone, there have been multiple riots born of originally peaceful protests. Students in Middlebury
College in Vermont revolted at a peaceful debate with far right Charles Murray. While Murray tried to
reach his building, a mob formed, forcing him and his debate partner, Allison Stanger, to move to
another building (Beinhart np). When Murray and Stanger tried to leave, they and the car they were in
were attacked by students. The leftist Stanger was sent to the emergency room because she tried to
protect the guest (Fatzick np). In Berkeley, California, students were up in arms, wanting to prevent
Milo Yiannopoulos from speaking. Their haste to silence a man they disagreed with led to a huge
disaster. In the streets, fellow classmates were attacked. One student who supported President Trump
was brutally beaten, and an innocent bystander who claimed to be Muslim was assaulted for looking
like a Nazi (Ramaiyer np). Others were beset upon as well, with pepper spray, matches, and baseball
bats. In total, only one person was arrested (French np). Unless this one person attacked this many
people and businesses, it s safe to assume that dozens of perpetrators have gone unpunished for the
crime of hurting a human being! This free speech is not protected under the First Amendment. People
are hurting other people. Another time Mr. Yiannopoulos attempted to give a speech, protesters rudely

The Movie Hocus Pocus Was Directed By Kenny Ortega And The...
In the late 1940 s a man named Joseph Campbell shared his Mythic principal with the world. He
explains that there is a three stage formula that he calls a Hero Journey which is the structure of every
story. Though most stories are completely different on the outside, the stories are almost structured
around these three stages. Stage 1 is the hero leaves the everyday world and enters another world.
While Stage 2 the hero is challenged by opposing forces and must pass a series a test throughout the
movie. That will then determine who will be victorious, either the hero or the opposing forces. Stage 3
is tied into Stage 2 because if the hero is victorious, they will return to the ordinary world with a gift
for the world.
David Kirschner and Mick Garris fulfilled all the Hero s Journey steps. The movie Hocus Pocus was
directed by Kenny Ortega and is based on the Salem Witch trails back in Salem, Massachusetts in the
1600 s. On October 31, 1693, in Salem, Massachusetts, Thackery Binx discovers his sister Emily
being spirited away to the Sanderson Sisters cottage, a trio of witches. The sisters, Winifred, Sarah and
Mary, cast a spell on Emily to absorb her youth and regain their own, killing Emily. Binx confronts
them, but the witches transform him into an immortal black cat and to live with his guilt. The

The Expansion of an Empire does not appear to be the place in which you generate trade or Cross
cultural relations. Instead, a bloody and merciless conquest against the perceived enemies of the state
in order to grab land seems a more fitting image. Although this did play its part in the Mongols
expansion, it was a means to an end. The ideal of Supporting trade and Cross cultural relations is
clearly evident within the Mongol Empires conquests. One of the Key actions enacted is Discussed in
secondary source (source 9, Pg. 384) The Downgrading and Transfer of a large portion of the
established Eurasian hierarchy was the result of the destructive Conquests enact by the Mongols. By

My Advancement of Learning Personal Narrative
It was unusually hot that day and the beach was busier than normal, me and my friend josh, both
decided we wanted to go for a swim in the sea, but this wasn t normal for me, I had never been in the
sea before, I had always had a fear of jellyfish, I have had this fear for the whole of my life.
Apparently so I m told by my mum I got this phobia of jellyfishes from a little play toy in my bubble
bath, apparently I cut myself on it and never liked them since. When I was a little younger than I am

I flicked it of straight away and screamed, there was a burning sensation on my stomach, I ran heading
for my parents, the pain was immense and I could probably be heard from the other side of the beach.
Then about twenty people crowded round me while I was on a sun bed. I was the centre of attention,
and then out of the blue my mum said there is an air helicopter coming to get me. After five minuets
of waiting my mum came up to me once again and said jay come with me, the doctor is coming and he
will be here quicker than the air helicopter, I was familiar with this doctor as he had seen me many
times before in the past. It was a struggle to walk up to my flat which would normally be a five or six
minute walk to about fifteen minuets, along the way we stopped of at the security box, the life guard
there pulled out this syringe and a jam jar looking container containing a clear liquid, a the time I had
a phobia of needles so I refused to let the life guard touch me with it.
I then struggle to my top floor flat, four floors high and then lied on my back waiting for doctor

uncomfortable, the doctor gave my mum and dad a set of instructions they were; to get bleach, a
carving knife and flour. And he told my dad to go down to the sea and get some seawater! As he was

Island Song Analysis
Most people can say that one of the most important things in life is happiness. Happiness is key to a
worthy life. When you are happy, you go about your day much better than if you are sad or angry.
Happiness occurs internally but external factors such as music can always help. Music is responsible
for extracting certain emotions, such as happiness, in any listener. I chose to call my playlist It s Going
to Be a Good Day because everyone needs a playlist to start off their day right by listening to songs
that instigate happiness. I chose this theme because personally I believe that happiness is very
important in my life. If I am not happy, then I cannot be efficient in the different things I do. By

The lyrics of this song are uplifting and make the listener feel as if nothing can get in their way to
reach their goal. This song is polyphonic because it contains two voices accompanied by
instrumentation. The tempo is upbeat and creating a feeling of happiness. The male voice s timbre is
raspy and soulful. The melody shows the sentiments that the two singers are promising each other
during the chorus. The instrumentation included strings, which gave the song a sweet and catch tone,
and the drums gave a pulsating drums that keeps the song upbeat. While listening to the song I feel
like I can conquer the world and nothing can stop me from doing the things I want to do so the sense
of power evolves into happiness

Famers During The Dust Bowl
Migration of the Famers During the Dust Bowl A nation that destroys its soils destroys itself. Forests
are lungs of our land, purifying the air and giving fresh strength to our people , stated Franklin Delano
Roosevelt. (1) Have you ever heard of the Dust Bowl? The Dust Bowl took place in the 1930s. In the
Great Plains of the United States. It covered parts of North Dakota, South Dakota, Nebraska,
Wyoming, Colorado, Kansas, Oklahoma, New Mexico and Texas. The blowing dust caused hardships
for many farmers making it difficult for them to work their farmland. Eventually, many of them
packed what they could into their cars or trucks and headed west to California.

Unfortunately, a new life in California was not as ideal as they thought it would be. There were less
jobs available than were advertised. In California, many farmers found themselves still unemployed.
They gave up farming corporations when they discovered that a good portion of California s
farmlands were owned by large farms with various different crops and eventually they looked to do
different work. ( The Dust Bowl 2) Many of the families that traveled from Oklahoma to California
during the 1930s were classified as Okies . Even though only one fifth of the migrants were from
Oklahoma. However, Klein tells us that an Okie was a blanket term used to describe all agricultural
migrants, no matter their home states. The migrants were welcomed with hostility. For example, a sign
was hung outside of a diner that read: Okies not allowed inside.

American Youth in the 1960s
America has in a short time been established as a nation that symbolizes acceptance and change. It has
progressed into a country of equality that finds its foundation in its personal freedoms and the
progressive movement of technology, politics, economics, social views, ethics and so forth since the
American Revolution. It has been changing rapidly since the influx of immigrants that came here
before the Revolution. The 1950s were a happy time. I Love Lucy and Leave It To Beaver were on
television. The Everly Brothers, Jerry Lee Lewis, Chuck Berry and Elvis Presley were popular acts in
music. The youth movement of the 1960s was necessary in order for America to progress in social,
political, economic, and technological ways that could further America from the 1950s into a new era
of personal identity and freedom of expression. It was a time of fathers going to work, mothers staying
home and tending to the housework, and kids hanging out in the suburban neighborhoods. The 1950s
were the end of World War II which brought back many young serviceman to the states to start
families and get jobs. This inflow of young and eager men put a lot of money into industry and goods
not available during the war. This created a boom in the economy. Suburbs started to pop up
everywhere because all these young men and their families needed housing. Levitt Co. was the reason
for this. They built preplanned communities that contained cheap and affordable houses. Most looked

Essay Robert Altmans Nashville
Nashville Essay
Robert Altman s movie Nashville is based on the political, social, and personal problems that our
country has to deal with. These problems are rooted in the battle between the need to create some false
image of success and the need for truth which is the struggle that exists in every character of this film
(except Jeff Goldbloom). To show this Robert Altman takes us through Nashville s Country Music
using political commentary, music and realistically portrayed dialogue to tell the story.
Altman portrayed politics as sort of a parasite feeding off of the Nashville dream. He used acousmatic
sound in two ways to portray these parasitic politics. The first way is the use of the Hall Walker van
which was an almost a surreal ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Altman also uses dialogue in a similar manor. The nature of dialogue itself is solely for creating and
upholding the self image of the Nashville Star weather you are one or not. The conversations never get
passed the surface issues, and no one ever speaks their mind unless it s safe. But, the reality of each
character is very real and deep due to the way the dialogue was set up. Most of the people were
frivolous so in order to add some depth and reveal their true character Altman had to make the
dialogue as realistic as possible. The dialogue seemed almost unrehearsed or not planned at all which
gives it its reality. The most odious example of this is when the Hal Walker representative is arguing
about the political sign with Barbra Gene s husband at Centennial Park. He slips on his line in the heat
of the argument. I don t know if this was intentional or not, but I think they chose to keep it in the
movie because it seemed to be more true to reality than just a smooth flowing argument that would
normally be in a movie. The little slip gave way, for the first time, a vulnerable side to the Hal Walker
rep or even politics for that matter.
There is also another form of acousmatic, and it is the subtle comments of the crowd. Because there
are so many appearances and performances the crowd reaction becomes very important to the context
of the story from an outside critical standpoint. Putting these comments together creates one huge

Oral family history indicates an older brother died during the Napoleonic Wars, but this is

was 26 and mother 25. After Jean Pierre Viguerie arrived in Houma, he operated a sawmill at Ardoyne

The Effects Of Violence On Domestic Violence
I object to violence, because when it appears to do good, the good is only temporary; the evil it does is
permanent , quoted by Mahatma Gandhi. Violence is defined as an unjust or unwarranted exertion of
power or force to intentionally injure, damage, or destroy something or someone. Amongst the various
types of violence, there is one in particular that has been causing an ongoing debate within societies
across the world; this certain type of violence is known as domestic violence. Domestic violence, also
known as intimate violence or family violence, is a pattern of violent behaviors that are being used by
an individual in a relationship to control his or her partner.() This act of abuse can come in many
different forms, such as physical abuse, sexual abuse, emotional abuse, or psychological abuse, and
can affect not only the victim, but anyone that he or she may come in contact with.
In today s society, it is very common to find domestic abuse in households, but not much is being done
to stop it. After researching the various causes of domestic violence, one can conclude that there are
many reasons that may have triggered the abuser s sudden need to have the upper hand.
Unemployment, drug or alcohol abuse, extreme jealously, or feeling inferior to their partner s
education level or occupational status are just a few factors which may lead to one s violent outrage.
Also, in most cases an intergenerational cycle of domestic violence can be the main cause of the
abuser s

Compare And Contrast Monty Python And The Holy Grail
Chivalry and courtly love are two Arthurian sentiments displayed in Monty Python and the Holy
Grail, Le Morte d Arthur, and Sir Gawain and the Green Knight. Monty Python and the Holy Grail
differs from Le Morte d Arthur and Sir Gawain and the Green Knight because the film satirizes
chivalry and courtly love while the other works are upholding it as orthodox. Courtly love from the
Middle Ages consisted of knights chasing a fair maiden while always being respectful and courteous
to her. Chivalry is a code of conduct that King Arthur s conventional knights uphold, which includes
remaining honorable and ready to help the weak. Monty Python and the Holy Grail is a lampoon that
utilizes satire to ridicule chivalry and courtly love to not only amuse ... Show more content on

This chivalrous act is derided in Monty Python and the Holy Grail when King Arthur confronts the
Black Knight blocking the path to the bridge. King Arthur insists on crossing the bridge instead of
going around, forcing a confrontation between the Arthur and the Black Knight. Arthur shows no
mercy in the battle and cuts the Black Knight s limbs off, one by one. This demonstrates satire because
as the Black Knights limbs are being cut off, King Arthur continues to slice at him, displaying an
exaggeration of showing no mercy. The Black Knight persists against Arthur, also mocking how one
must never recoil before the enemy, even if one s limbs are removed. In Le Morte d Arthur, King
Arthur is merciless against Modred, his bastard son whom attempts to take over King Arthur s
kingdom, and pierces Modred with a spear. This instance is an example of chivalry because King
Arthur does not hesitate to kill his own son nor does he display clemency. Modred as a response does
not recoil, which is also is in the code of conduct of chivalry. When a knight faces the enemy, he
should never flinch or shy away because of fear. This aspect of chivalry is parodied in Monty Python
and the Holy Grail when King Arthur and his knights brawled with the Killer Rabbit of Caerbannog.
The Killer Rabbit is an unearthly creature because it leaps incredible lengths and wrenches a knight s
head off with one bite. This scene is executed to make the confrontation appear ridiculous to the
audience by the otherworldly rabbit decapitating one of King Arthur s praised knights, proving them
to be inept in battle. In Sir Gawain and the Green Knight, the Green Knight, a mystic man with a
green complexion and a body made of nature, challenges a knight to a beheading game. When Sir
Gawain accepts this challenge, he decapitates the Green Knight, whom proceeds to ride away

suitors are trying to take over and marry his mom Penelope. So will they get though this. In the
Odyssey by Homer, the character Odysseus is a war hero from Ithaca, he is motivated by his wife
Penelope and son Telemachus. Homer s stories probably can be traced to historical struggles for
control of the waterway leading from the Aegean Sea to the sea of Marmara and the Black Sea.
Odysseus is trying to find his way home, but he can t get there. In contrast, in Calypso, by Suzanne

The Social Construction of Fibromyalgia Essay
The Social Construction of Fibromyalgia
With so many people in so much pain, how could fibromyalgia not be a disease? (Groopman 3) This
question regarding the condition of persistent muscle pain throughout the body, pain that is often
accompanied by severe fatigue, insomnia, diarrhea and abdominal bloating, bladder irritation, and
headache, now known as fibromyalgia raises some rather interesting yet complicated issues in today s
health care field such as: What criteria must be met in order for a symptom or a set of symptoms, as is
the case here, to be classified as an illness or a disorder? What does the term illness itself mean? What

Health, in a positive sense, consists in the capacity of the organism to maintain a balance in which it
may be reasonably free of undue pain, discomfort, disability or limitation of action (Mishler 154).
Because of our modern definition and perception of illness or disease, some physicians may ignore
patients claims of having fibromyalgia, or may even dismiss the patients as crazy and refer them to
psychiatrists, since this is their only logical explanation for a patient complaining of pains who shows
no biological dysfunctions
Mohamed 3 through physical and/or laboratory exams. However, the presence of measurable
deviations from normal biological functioning is only one of the conditions for illness, certainly not a
necessary and sufficient condition (Mishler 159). Fortunately, some physicians look further into the
conditions, performing more detailed experiments with the patients to attempt to understand what
exactly is going on.
The process of social construction consists of a few main steps. First, is the acknowledgement by the
patient or a group of patients, or even an organization that there is an abnormal condition and feelings
of illness. Next are the decisions that must be made in order to diagnose the illness, but who makes
these decisions? Physicians have been granted by society the right to define criteria of

By providing the geometry of a circulating bed and operating parameters for different conditions, the
organizers asked modelers to predict the hydrodynamic characteristics without prior knowledge of test

The cycle repeats thus creating a continuous circulation of solid around the loop.
The miniCFB was made out of clear acrylic pieces. Operators can clearly see the dynamics of gas
particle mixing throughout the riser. They can visually record the height of moving solids or bed
height in the standpipe. The particles swirl indicating rotational dynamics inside the cyclone is clearly
visible during gas solid separation. Researchers may take image of gas solid interactions at any section
of the rig, be it at the interface of the L valve and riser entrance or at the riser exit and crossover. For
instance, a high speed particle image velocimetry (PIV) using a shadowing technique counted accurate
number of falling particles in the lean region of standpipe. The shadowing method gives improved
depth of focus enhancing accurate measurement of solid circulation rate at steady state.
The solid circulation rate connects the dynamics of a CFB riser and its return loop. The parameter
strongly affects heat and mass transfer between particles and gas, and between particles and particles.
It greatly influences the mixing and reaction times, residence time distribution, performance and
hydrodynamics of the overall system. The full loop simulation of the DEM model produces the solid
circulation rate as the output rather than requiring it as an input. Later case arises when CFD models
simulate only a riser portion of the CFB. The precise model of a full

how her identity is determined which is similar to how American s identity is determined today. For
instance, on the very beginning of A Mercy, Morrison references something strange thing that is
somewhat out of her context. Florens says, As a result, Lina says, my feet are useless... (4). The quote
illustrates that how Florens knows her identity or her feature that she has about her that her feet are

is which can be used to compare how Florens have changed throughout her experience. Another
examples is shown when in the end of the book Florens shows how she has changed through her
experience that refers back to the the experience she had with her mother, Minha Mae. She says,

Selecting Your First Aquarium
Aquarium fish originate in different parts of the world, so they have different needs and behaviors. If
you find out about the fish you want to keep in your aquarium, you will be much less likely to have
compatibility issues after making purchases.
Generally, its wise to limit the selected species to one or two, and limit fish population to about half
the safe biological load. This approach leaves room for mistakes and limits potential disasters.
Your first aquarium will have a better chance of success if you select the more common and less
expensive varieties of fish and plants. Once you have some experience, you may want to try
something more challenging and expensive.
When selecting your first aquarium, remember that larger tanks are easier to keep than smaller ones. A
smaller volume of water can become polluted much more quickly than a larger one.
Nitrogen Cycle An aquarium is a dynamic environment with many more lifeforms than just fish and
plants. For example, several types of beneficial bacteria in a healthy aquarium neutralize the toxins
that fish and uneaten food produce. These beneficial bacteria make up the nitrogen cycle, so called
because the naturally produced toxins are nitrogen compounds such as ammonia and nitrite. Before
putting fish in your new aquarium, make sure the nitrogen cycle is functioning. ... Show more content

  • 2. Title Vii There are many employment laws out there but ill discuss about three of them and what are the consequences if the company did not comply. The employment laws I will discuss are the Title VII of the Civil Rights Act 1964, Americans with Disabilities Act 1990, and the Uniformed Services Employment and Reemployment Rights Act. My next topic would be how an organization might structure their policies, practices and culture to ensure compliance. The first law I will discuss is the Title VII of the Civil Rights Act 1964. This law is the most important anti discrimination law. It was initially intended to end the discrimination in the workplace against African Americans which has been brought to national attention by the civil rights movement ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This law is really good to me especially when I was in the US Navy reserved. The Uniformed Services Employment and Reemployment Rights Act is to protect the civilian employment of active and reserve military personnel in the United States when called to active duty. These law applies to all services in the military including reserved components. The USERRA clarifies that when a service member of the armed forces was called to active duty, he or she will retain their current job in the civilian sector and furthermore the position will be on hold until the service member is back from their active duty (USERRA, 2016). I can personally say that this law is good for service members who got activated especially for reservist personnel who were activated. When I was activated for two months active duty while in the reservist, my employer assured me that I will still get that position when I return from service. I felt reassured that I will keep my old job when I return from my detachment. The consequences for not complying with the Uniformed Services Employment and Reemployment Rights Act will be dealt with the Department of Labor (USERRA, 2016). If found guilty, the company would compensate the victim with court fees and compensate for any loss wages and benefits. Once again, the company would also loss income and revenue and the trust of their employee for unfair treatment. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Feb 10 Hamilton Case MEMO This memo is regarding Hamilton Corporation and the fraud that occurred. When people make decisions they don t always do it with the right mindset. There are limitations in our judgment processes and we can identify methods to mitigate bias and improve judgment (KPMG Judgment Framework). The four common tendencies that cause limitations in our judgment processes are, availability, confirmation, overconfidence, and anchoring. In this memo I will explain each of the four tendencies, talk about which tendency I believe to have manifested in the Hamilton case, clarify issues relating to auditing the warranty reserve and describe the alternatives that should be considered in auditing the warranty reserve, and finally provide factors that ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Background on Hamilton Hamilton (the Company) was a subsidiary of Motor Company (MC). In 1999 the Company spun off from MC and incorporated. After the separation MC informed the Company that they owed $350 $800 million in warranty claims related to sales that occurred prior to the separation in 1999. Hamilton s management believed that any warranty claims related to sales prior to the separation should be limited to the reserve amount that was agreed upon separation. MC wanted the full payment for what they owed relating to warranty claims. MC remained Hamilton s largest client and because of that, Hamilton s management was motivated to find a solution that would appease MC. Management realized that in paying anything over $100 million to MC would cause a significant reduction in operating income. For this reason, management had significant incentives to mask the true level of warranty expense in order to meet analysts forecasts. Management made the decision to report favorable results, no matter what. The tendencies or bias manifested in Hamilton Corporation Hamilton s auditor employed multiple tendencies. Confirmation was used in the scheme to support management when they obtained a letter from the Company s actuary that provided the reasonable range for pension assumptions that had been made in the past. Management also convinced MC to allow the meeting minutes between the two companies to ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. How Did Galileo Galilei Contribute To Science Galileo Galilei was a remarkable figure in the history of science. Due to his studies in science, the inventor faced the wrath of the Roman Inquisition. Galileo Galilei is the most significant scientist in modern science, because of his accomplishments in science and the obstacles he overcame for the sake of science. Some accomplishments include founding the branch of material physics (also known as kinematics or the science of the strength of materials), creating a higher definition telescope, in order to prove the heliocentric theory true, and disproving many of Aristotle s teachings in astronomy and physics. He also was able to prove that the Moon wasn t smooth, as Aristotle thought otherwise. Also, he was the one who realized that the Milky Way was created by multiple stars visible to the naked eye. • 5. I Love Lucy In the book Harvard design school guide to shopping, Louise Wyman explores the notion of relationships between humans and commodities through The project of modernity ... the Crystal Palace (Wyman, L. 2001, p.229). Wyman suggests that the construction of The Crystal Palace in 1851 begun to break down the strict relationship between commodities, such as clothing, and social class. Both the way in which the building was constructed and the events taking place within the building support this claim. Unconventional design concepts and material use that incorporate the use of science, technology and nature were a key development during this time period. In Hitchcock s words, Paxton s scheme owed its aesthetic qualities to factors hitherto unrecognised the repetition of units manufactured in series, the functional lace like patterns of criss cross trusses, the transparent definition of space, the total elimination of mass and the sense of tensile, almost live, strength as opposed to the solid and gravitational quality of previous masonry architecture (Mordant Crook 1987, p.107). In fact, there are at least two main versions of this important speech. To understand the importance of the speech we must remember that at that time England and Spain had intermittent conflicts. At this period Spain, was ruled by Philip II and England was ruled by Elizabeth I. The relations between Elizabeth I and Philip II had always been tough, with a lot of disagreements: political, economic and religious. Philip had even prepared the invasion of England since the beginning of his reign. Two other contemporary writers testify to the same effect: Camden and Stow. • 8. The Space Shuttle Disaster And 12 The first space shuttle, Enterprise, launched in 1977. NASA couldn t have been more proud of their accomplishments and looked forward to the years to come with many new ideas, experiments to try and space to explore. While this might have been the case for a few years following, NASA couldn t have predicted what was to happen on the mornings of January 28, 1986 and February 1, 2003... or could they? Disaster struck for both the Challenger and the Columbus space shuttles. Even though both scenarios were different, they were one in the same when it came to the reasoning behind why it happened. The ideas of cultural change, ethics of organization and decision making were all to blame. Introduction It has been 29 years since the Challenger space shuttle disaster and 12 years since the Columbia space shuttle disintegrated during reentry. With proper precautions and improvements to both shuttles, these incidents could have been avoided. Summary The Challenger exploded on its tenth flight during mission STS 51L, killing all seven crew members. The explosion occurred 73 seconds after the shuttle took liftoff, and the reason behind the explosion were the faulty O rings. There were predictions that if the O rings were to malfunction due to the cold temperatures, the rockets could explode before the shuttle took off from the Launchpad (Miller 79). There had been speculation that the O rings could fail, but those opinions were quickly pushed aside as the crew boarded with the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Slavery was widespread within the southern states until the year of 1865, when slavery and involuntary servitude were abolished, except for those duly convicted of a crime. Common Examples Of Child Protective Service In 2002 there was estimated to be nearly 3 million referrals to Child Protective Services (CPS) in the United States, and about 5 million in the year 2000 (McWey Mullis, 2004). Children who are living in environments that put them in harms way, depending on the situation are generally removed from their home and placed into a foster home in attempts to keep them safe (Carlson, Egeland Lawrence, 2006). Common examples of Child Protective Service (CPS) referrals include physical abuse, sexual abuse, and psychological maltreatment (McWey Mullis, 2004). In 2001 it was estimated that nearly 542,000 children were in foster care in the United States and that the number of children in foster care exceeded the number of available foster homes by nearly 30 40% (Carlson, Egeland Lawrence, 2006). For many children in foster care, reunification with biological parent or parents is the ultimate goal (McWey, Acock Porter, 2010). In 60% of foster care cases, reunification with biological parents occurs (Carlson, Egeland Lawrence, 2006) .In order for reunification to be possible, or to help determine whether reunification can occur, children and biological parents have scheduled visits with trained supervisors who monitor the visits (Haight, Kagle Black, 2003). Or maybe something a little bit more serious like your personal web page gets hi jacked? While Black Hat hackers illegally crack into systems for malicious reasons, their White Hat counterparts probe and test for security flaws and IT research (Black Hat/White Hat). The term hacker can be explained as a person who enjoys learning the details of a computer system and how to stretch their capabilities beyond a person who learns the bare minimum to use a computer (Palmer). By this definition, a hacker can be anyone who is willing to expand their knowledge with a computer to better benefit themselves, or more importantly, others. Many people disregard the ethical sense to hacking and believe all forms of hacking to be unjust, which is untrue, but hacking can be very beneficial. White Hat, or Ethical Hacking can be very useful by having security professionals attempt to break in to explore and try to exploiting systems to discover a loop hole or security flaw in a network. At first PC users said Macs had under powered processors and buggy software, while Mac users only stated Windows 98. Today the argument is much more complicated, and no one is going to win this war. Mac users will say the security, usability, and design are better, while the PC users will say the price, software compatibility, and choice is better. So there has always been this war about what is better, Mac or PC, but in the end it comes down to personal preference. PC and Mac have always had different core operating systems. Logical Fallacies Summary and Application Essay Logical Fallacies Summary and Application What do you see when you look at Begging the Question, Hasty Generalization, and Appealing to Emotion? When you initially look at these three categories they may not seem to have too much in common. However, when you look deeper you will see that in fact, they are all different types of logical fallacies. Logical fallacies are errors of reasoning, errors that may be recognized and corrected by prudent thinkers (Downes, 1995). The following quote helps explain why logic is important to us in today s society. Logic is not everything. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Small samples will tend to be unrepresentative. The general idea is that small samples are less likely to contain numbers proportional to the whole population. Since Hasty Generalization is committed when the sample is too small, it is important to have samples that are large enough when making a generalization. The most reliable way to do this is to take as large a sample as is practical. If the population in question were not very diverse then a very small sample would suffice. If the population were very diverse then a fairly large sample would be needed. The size of the sample also depends on the size of the population. A Hasty Generalization, like any fallacy, might have a true conclusion. However, as long as the reasoning is fallacious there is no reason to accept the conclusion based on that People often commit Hasty Generalizations because of bias or prejudice. People also commonly commit Hasty Generalizations because of laziness or sloppiness. It is very easy to simply leap to a conclusion and much harder to gather an adequate sample and draw a justified conclusion. Therefore, avoiding this fallacy requires minimizing the influence of bias and taking care to select a sample that is large enough. A great example of this fallacy that everyone has probably experienced is when a teenager is talking to their parent and says, But why can t ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 18. Free Speech Persuasive Speech What is free speech? Does the term free speech cover offensive words? Painful ones? Words that disrespect others? What about objectionable, or even wrong beliefs? When is speech illegal? What is exactly meant by free speech? According to Rampell, the term free speech includes hate speech , and is therefore protected by the first amendment (np). This means that even messages we don t like, agree with, feel uncomfortable about, or even are disgusted by, are legal. Unfortunately, many college students consider harmful words an assault, and some students believe that such verbal attacks can and should be met with violence (French np). Students and speakers today are discriminated against in classrooms and other scenes where free speech and debate should be especially cherished. In 2017 alone, there have been multiple riots born of originally peaceful protests. Students in Middlebury College in Vermont revolted at a peaceful debate with far right Charles Murray. While Murray tried to reach his building, a mob formed, forcing him and his debate partner, Allison Stanger, to move to another building (Beinhart np). When Murray and Stanger tried to leave, they and the car they were in were attacked by students. The leftist Stanger was sent to the emergency room because she tried to protect the guest (Fatzick np). In Berkeley, California, students were up in arms, wanting to prevent Milo Yiannopoulos from speaking. Their haste to silence a man they disagreed with led to a huge disaster. In the streets, fellow classmates were attacked. One student who supported President Trump was brutally beaten, and an innocent bystander who claimed to be Muslim was assaulted for looking like a Nazi (Ramaiyer np). Others were beset upon as well, with pepper spray, matches, and baseball bats. In total, only one person was arrested (French np). Unless this one person attacked this many people and businesses, it s safe to assume that dozens of perpetrators have gone unpunished for the crime of hurting a human being! This free speech is not protected under the First Amendment. People are hurting other people. Another time Mr. Yiannopoulos attempted to give a speech, protesters rudely barged into the lecture hall, interrupting the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 20. The Movie Hocus Pocus Was Directed By Kenny Ortega And The... In the late 1940 s a man named Joseph Campbell shared his Mythic principal with the world. He explains that there is a three stage formula that he calls a Hero Journey which is the structure of every story. Though most stories are completely different on the outside, the stories are almost structured around these three stages. Stage 1 is the hero leaves the everyday world and enters another world. While Stage 2 the hero is challenged by opposing forces and must pass a series a test throughout the movie. That will then determine who will be victorious, either the hero or the opposing forces. Stage 3 is tied into Stage 2 because if the hero is victorious, they will return to the ordinary world with a gift for the world. David Kirschner and Mick Garris fulfilled all the Hero s Journey steps. The movie Hocus Pocus was directed by Kenny Ortega and is based on the Salem Witch trails back in Salem, Massachusetts in the 1600 s. On October 31, 1693, in Salem, Massachusetts, Thackery Binx discovers his sister Emily being spirited away to the Sanderson Sisters cottage, a trio of witches. The sisters, Winifred, Sarah and Mary, cast a spell on Emily to absorb her youth and regain their own, killing Emily. These problems are rooted in the battle between the need to create some false image of success and the need for truth which is the struggle that exists in every character of this film (except Jeff Goldbloom). To show this Robert Altman takes us through Nashville s Country Music using political commentary, music and realistically portrayed dialogue to tell the story. Altman portrayed politics as sort of a parasite feeding off of the Nashville dream. He used acousmatic sound in two ways to portray these parasitic politics. The first way is the use of the Hall Walker van which was an almost a surreal ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Altman also uses dialogue in a similar manor. The nature of dialogue itself is solely for creating and upholding the self image of the Nashville Star weather you are one or not. The conversations never get passed the surface issues, and no one ever speaks their mind unless it s safe. But, the reality of each character is very real and deep due to the way the dialogue was set up. Most of the people were frivolous so in order to add some depth and reveal their true character Altman had to make the dialogue as realistic as possible. The dialogue seemed almost unrehearsed or not planned at all which gives it its reality. The most odious example of this is when the Hal Walker representative is arguing about the political sign with Barbra Gene s husband at Centennial Park. He slips on his line in the heat of the argument. I don t know if this was intentional or not, but I think they chose to keep it in the movie because it seemed to be more true to reality than just a smooth flowing argument that would normally be in a movie. The little slip gave way, for the first time, a vulnerable side to the Hal Walker rep or even politics for that matter. There is also another form of acousmatic, and it is the subtle comments of the crowd. Violence is defined as an unjust or unwarranted exertion of power or force to intentionally injure, damage, or destroy something or someone. Amongst the various types of violence, there is one in particular that has been causing an ongoing debate within societies across the world; this certain type of violence is known as domestic violence. Domestic violence, also known as intimate violence or family violence, is a pattern of violent behaviors that are being used by an individual in a relationship to control his or her partner.() This act of abuse can come in many different forms, such as physical abuse, sexual abuse, emotional abuse, or psychological abuse, and can affect not only the victim, but anyone that he or she may come in contact with. In today s society, it is very common to find domestic abuse in households, but not much is being done to stop it. After researching the various causes of domestic violence, one can conclude that there are many reasons that may have triggered the abuser s sudden need to have the upper hand. Unemployment, drug or alcohol abuse, extreme jealously, or feeling inferior to their partner s education level or occupational status are just a few factors which may lead to one s violent outrage. Monty Python and the Holy Grail differs from Le Morte d Arthur and Sir Gawain and the Green Knight because the film satirizes chivalry and courtly love while the other works are upholding it as orthodox. Courtly love from the Middle Ages consisted of knights chasing a fair maiden while always being respectful and courteous to her. This chivalrous act is derided in Monty Python and the Holy Grail when King Arthur confronts the Black Knight blocking the path to the bridge. King Arthur insists on crossing the bridge instead of going around, forcing a confrontation between the Arthur and the Black Knight. Arthur shows no mercy in the battle and cuts the Black Knight s limbs off, one by one. This demonstrates satire because as the Black Knights limbs are being cut off, King Arthur continues to slice at him, displaying an exaggeration of showing no mercy. The Black Knight persists against Arthur, also mocking how one must never recoil before the enemy, even if one s limbs are removed. In Le Morte d Arthur, King Arthur is merciless against Modred, his bastard son whom attempts to take over King Arthur s kingdom, and pierces Modred with a spear. This instance is an example of chivalry because King Arthur does not hesitate to kill his own son nor does he display clemency. Modred as a response does not recoil, which is also is in the code of conduct of chivalry. When a knight faces the enemy, he should never flinch or shy away because of fear. This aspect of chivalry is parodied in Monty Python and the Holy Grail when King Arthur and his knights brawled with the Killer Rabbit of Caerbannog. The Killer Rabbit is an unearthly creature because it leaps incredible lengths and wrenches a knight s head off with one bite. This scene is executed to make the confrontation appear ridiculous to the audience by the otherworldly rabbit decapitating one of King Arthur s praised knights, proving them to be inept in battle. Health, in a positive sense, consists in the capacity of the organism to maintain a balance in which it may be reasonably free of undue pain, discomfort, disability or limitation of action (Mishler 154). Because of our modern definition and perception of illness or disease, some physicians may ignore patients claims of having fibromyalgia, or may even dismiss the patients as crazy and refer them to psychiatrists, since this is their only logical explanation for a patient complaining of pains who shows no biological dysfunctions Mohamed 3 through physical and/or laboratory exams. However, the presence of measurable deviations from normal biological functioning is only one of the conditions for illness, certainly not a necessary and sufficient condition (Mishler 159). Researchers may take image of gas solid interactions at any section of the rig, be it at the interface of the L valve and riser entrance or at the riser exit and crossover.
