A trailer creator earns an average salary of $244,000 (£184,000) per year. But it can be different for others depending on
how many time they get asked to make a trailer. The wage could also be different because of the amount of experience an
employee might have, so if you had 7 years of experience you would be paid £30,000 per year.

Equipment and software?
Any sort of film or trailer editor will use a fast computer, keyboard and mouse, headphones and a monitor, some people
may use more than one monitor, so that they can open more software. The type of software editors would use are, adobe
premiere pro, but if it’s a high budget film they will use high tech software.
Genders?
From the research I gathered more males than females who
work as editors.
How long?
It takes one week to make a Hollywood trailer.

Client research:
My client is irn bru, Irn Bru is a soft drink, which originated from Scotland but some sources say it might have originated in
America. It was introduced in 1901 and originally had 1.1% alcohol, but now has only 0.5%.
They adverts the product (irn bru) as if it helps you see the positive to everything no matter how bad something is.
There adverts are linear meaning they show progression, and in the case of irn bru the adverts show that more the
people drink irn bru the more they can handle. This makes the audience think that irn bru can help you through life.
The irn bru adverts are also funny to watch, which gets your 100% attention.

Client research:
There isn’t just one irn bru there is irn bru sugar free which was introduced in 1991, there is irn bru XS which was
introduced in 1995, there's irn bru 32 which was introduced in 2006, there is fiery irn bru which was introduced in 2011
and there's irn bru xtra which was introduced in 2016.
The main colour for irn bru is orange and blue, but when it’s a different version of irn bru they change it, for instance
with fiery irn bru the colours are black and red. The colour on any product make it unique, which is good for marketing,
another way they market the product is thought games, on there website they have a couple of irn bru related. Video
games are a great way to advertise as they require the viewer full attention.
Client research:
Thant's to great marketing the irn bru logo is very well known. But it has got through changes.
Companies give new designs to product to make them seem more modern and new, the irn bru
logo doesn't change that much because they still want people to recognize it.
They also spell irn bru in a weird way.
Instead of iron brew they spell it irn bru,
because it makes the product more unique
and when you say irn bru it sound more
Scottish.
Market research:
Irn bru market there drink by saying in advertisements that if you drink there product you will become strong and
durable. And there adverts are entertaining and funny to watch.
One of irn bru competition is coca cola, Which is another soft drink, coca cola use many different methods of
marketing, one of there methods was to put names on there bottles, so customers would buy a coke with there
name on it. Coca cola adverts are usually just people having fun whilst drinking coke. They also advertise there
product a lot more at Christmas, because everyone buys stuff at Christmas.
Coca cola don’t advertise that you will
change when you drink the product,
they just advertise it as a drink that
people like, so coca cola go with the
realistic approach and irn bru go with
the over the top, unrealistic approach.
Market research:
Dr pepper are another soft drink which are in competition with irn bru. Dr pepper is from Waco, Texas in America and was
created in 1880. Dr pepper is similar to coca cole in that it has been around a lot longer that irn bru and is a lot more
popular.
Like coca cola, Dr pepper is advertised as a drink
people love, and every is ordinary, while irn bru is
very eccentric.
The Dr peppers main colour is red, red is an eye
catching colour, and will draw costumers towards
the products.

1. Do you like Irn-Bru, And why?
No, the taste and colour put me off as the bright colour makes it look very processed and fake

Some of them are funny but the sense of humour is repetitive
3. Do you prefer Irn-Bru over Coke, and why?
No, coke has a nicer taste and it is more refreshing. Coke is always more prominent in stores as
well

I do not like irn bru because it tastes and smells like medicine
2. Do you like Irn-Bru adverts and why?
I like the adverts because theyre funny and catch your attention, however sometimes they do go
to far and create potentially really offensive adverts
3. Do you prefer Irn-Bru over Coke, and why?
I do not prefer irn-bru over coke because it tastes and looks vile, whereas coke tastes nice and
doesn’t have a bright neon colour.
Audience research:
Secondary research
From looking at secondary research slightly more
males drink irn bru but it’s more or less fifty fifty,
which tells us that irn bru isn’t a masculine or
feminine drink, it’s neutral.
There survey also shows that it’s young
people who drink irn bru. Which is probably
why irn bru adverts are comedic, because
there for younger viewers.
From there survey I can see that
people have a hobby of playing
video games, which suggest that
people would prefer a video
game advertisement.

The survey shows that there are
more males than females
The survey shows that the people who
took it are 16-20, so I will try to appeal to
that audience.

Idea Generation:

An idea I had was, for a game, you have
to keep the irn bru can in the air by
taping on hit if it hits the ground you
lose a life you get three lives, points will
be desided by how many times you hit
the irn bru. For video it would basically
be throwing the irn bru to each other,
and for a poster it would be an irn bru
flying though the air.
For a game your running

bru to keep going, it could
translate to video by having
somone running and
drinking irn bru to keep
him going
Ideas
Group Idea:

The idea is For an injured man drinking irn bru to heal himself. For the advergame he goes around
collecting irn bru to heal himself. For the video someone will walk into a door and hurts himself
someone else will give him an irn bru, he drinks it and is healed. For the poster its an injured smiling
while drinking an irn bru.

If the camera runs out of batteries – We will make sure that the camera batteries are full.
When we are editing the computer might shut down – We will save our work every five
minutes.
The could be a power cut – We will save our work constantly.
We could make a mistake - Check through work before handing it in.
Health and safety
I could hurt myself when acting – I need to make sure I don’t do anything dangerous. Looking at the computer screen for too
long can cause eye strain – Don’t look at the computer screen for too long, I should take a break and look away from the
screen every now and then. Open wire which could cause an electric shock - Tell the tutor about the wire and keep away.
Looking at the computer slouched, which could cause back problems - Sit in the chair properly by having a straight back. Don’t
mess around on your chair as you could hurt others and your self - Sit down and don’t spin yourself around. A fire caused by a
faulty wire - Press the fire alarm button to warn other students and evacuate the building.

Planning Docs (Advergame):
The plan for the advergame is for an injured man to be
collecting irn brus so that he can live. The background
will be set up for the injured man to parkour across. Irn
bru can will be dotted around the parkour map for the
injured man to find. There will be 8-bit music playing in
the background, sound effects will also be used for
instance when the injured man collect an irn bru and
heals himself a sound effect will be used.

The idea for the print form is to have an injured man in
the center of the holding and irn bru, in the the image
the injured man is smiling because even though he’s
injured he’s got an irn bru. At the top of the page there
will be the irn bru logo, and below that will be the slogan
I have made.

  • 9. Client research: My client is irn bru, Irn Bru is a soft drink, which originated from Scotland but some sources say it might have originated in America. It was introduced in 1901 and originally had 1.1% alcohol, but now has only 0.5%. They adverts the product (irn bru) as if it helps you see the positive to everything no matter how bad something is. There adverts are linear meaning they show progression, and in the case of irn bru the adverts show that more the people drink irn bru the more they can handle. Client research: There isn’t just one irn bru there is irn bru sugar free which was introduced in 1991, there is irn bru XS which was introduced in 1995, there's irn bru 32 which was introduced in 2006, there is fiery irn bru which was introduced in 2011 and there's irn bru xtra which was introduced in 2016. The main colour for irn bru is orange and blue, but when it’s a different version of irn bru they change it, for instance with fiery irn bru the colours are black and red. The colour on any product make it unique, which is good for marketing, another way they market the product is thought games, on there website they have a couple of irn bru related. Video games are a great way to advertise as they require the viewer full attention.
  • 11. Client research: Thant's to great marketing the irn bru logo is very well known. But it has got through changes. Companies give new designs to product to make them seem more modern and new, the irn bru logo doesn't change that much because they still want people to recognize it. They also spell irn bru in a weird way. Instead of iron brew they spell it irn bru, because it makes the product more unique and when you say irn bru it sound more Scottish.
  • 12. Market research: Irn bru market there drink by saying in advertisements that if you drink there product you will become strong and durable. And there adverts are entertaining and funny to watch. One of irn bru competition is coca cola, Which is another soft drink, coca cola use many different methods of marketing, one of there methods was to put names on there bottles, so customers would buy a coke with there name on it. Coca cola adverts are usually just people having fun whilst drinking coke. They also advertise there product a lot more at Christmas, because everyone buys stuff at Christmas. Coca cola don’t advertise that you will change when you drink the product, they just advertise it as a drink that people like, so coca cola go with the realistic approach and irn bru go with the over the top, unrealistic approach.
  • 13. Market research: Dr pepper are another soft drink which are in competition with irn bru. Dr pepper is from Waco, Texas in America and was created in 1880. Dr pepper is similar to coca cole in that it has been around a lot longer that irn bru and is a lot more popular. Like coca cola, Dr pepper is advertised as a drink people love, and every is ordinary, while irn bru is very eccentric. The Dr peppers main colour is red, red is an eye catching colour, and will draw costumers towards the products.
  • 14. Interview 1. Do you like Irn-Bru, And why? No, the taste and colour put me off as the bright colour makes it look very processed and fake 2. Do you like Irn-Bru adverts and why? Some of them are funny but the sense of humour is repetitive 3. Do you prefer Irn-Bru over Coke, and why? No, coke has a nicer taste and it is more refreshing. Coke is always more prominent in stores as well
  • 15. Interview 1. Do you like Irn-Bru, And why? I do not like irn bru because it tastes and smells like medicine 2. Do you like Irn-Bru adverts and why? I like the adverts because theyre funny and catch your attention, however sometimes they do go to far and create potentially really offensive adverts 3. Do you prefer Irn-Bru over Coke, and why? I do not prefer irn-bru over coke because it tastes and looks vile, whereas coke tastes nice and doesn’t have a bright neon colour.

Audience research: Secondary research From looking at secondary research slightly more males drink irn bru but it’s more or less fifty fifty, which tells us that irn bru isn’t a masculine or feminine drink, it’s neutral. There survey also shows that it’s young people who drink irn bru. Which is probably why irn bru adverts are comedic, because there for younger viewers. From there survey I can see that people have a hobby of playing video games, which suggest that people would prefer a video game advertisement.
  • 17. Audience research: The survey shows that there are more males than females The survey shows that the people who took it are 16-20, so I will try to appeal to that audience. The survey showed that more people like irn bru, than people who don’t.
  • 18. Audience research: It shows than almost everyone has seen an irn bru advert. So I will try to make my advert different from the rest The survey showed that most peoples favorite drink is coca cola. Most people don’t prefer sugar free. I will make the advert about the full fat version.

Audience research: Most people have a soft drink every day, So my advert will have something to do with The ratings for irn bru are quite similar, but with most of them going with 1/10 Most people prefer video advertisement, so I could make my advert a video. It’s 50/50 on where people drink soft drinks. so I could set my advert in a restaurant.

An idea I had was, for a game, you have to keep the irn bru can in the air by taping on hit if it hits the ground you lose a life you get three lives, points will be desided by how many times you hit the irn bru. For video it would basically be throwing the irn bru to each other, and for a poster it would be an irn bru flying though the air. For a game your running and you have to collect irn bru to keep going, it could translate to video by having somone running and drinking irn bru to keep him going Ideas
  • 21. Group Idea: Put your groups idea here. Agree on what you are doing. You need to work to this concept from here on. The idea is For an injured man drinking irn bru to heal himself. For the advergame he goes around collecting irn bru to heal himself. For the video someone will walk into a door and hurts himself someone else will give him an irn bru, he drinks it and is healed. For the poster its an injured smiling while drinking an irn bru.

We could make a mistake - Check through work before handing it in. Health and safety I could hurt myself when acting – I need to make sure I don’t do anything dangerous. Looking at the computer screen for too long can cause eye strain – Don’t look at the computer screen for too long, I should take a break and look away from the screen every now and then. Open wire which could cause an electric shock - Tell the tutor about the wire and keep away. Looking at the computer slouched, which could cause back problems - Sit in the chair properly by having a straight back. Don’t mess around on your chair as you could hurt others and your self - Sit down and don’t spin yourself around. A fire caused by a faulty wire - Press the fire alarm button to warn other students and evacuate the building. At the top of the page there will be the irn bru logo, and below that will be the slogan I have made.
