This document presents a methodology for supplier selection using the Technique for Order Preference by Similarity to Ideal Solution (TOPSIS) method combined with entropy weight. It involves using a decision matrix to evaluate suppliers based on multiple quantitative and qualitative criteria. The weights of each criterion are determined using an entropy weight calculation. The TOPSIS method is then applied to rank suppliers based on their distance from the ideal positive and negative solutions. An illustrative example is provided to demonstrate the step-by-step calculations for applying this methodology to a supplier selection problem involving four suppliers and five evaluation criteria.

Supplier selection is one of the most important functions of a purchasing department. Since by deciding the best supplier, companies can save material costs and increase competitive advantage. However this decision becomes complicated in case of multiple suppliers, multiple conflicting criteria, and imprecise parameters. In addition the uncertainty and vagueness of the experts’ opinion is the prominent characteristic of the problem. Therefore an extensively used multi criteria decision making tool Fuzzy AHP can be utilized as an approach for supplier selection problem. This paper reveals the application of Fuzzy AHP in a gear motor company determining the best supplier with respect to selected criteria. The contribution of this study is not only the application of the Fuzzy AHP methodology for supplier selection problem, but also releasing a comprehensive literature review of multi criteria decision making problems. In addition by stating the steps of Fuzzy AHP clearly and numerically, this study can be a guide of the methodology to be implemented to other multiple criteria decision making problems.

Supplier ranking and selection in a bakeryIOSR Journals
Supplier evaluation and selection is a fundamental problem in supply chain management. Many
companies may not know how to evaluate proposed suppliers to integrate the different criteria upon which they
want to make their decision. A number of techniques have been employed to solve this problem but were not
able tosufficiently incorporate qualitative criteria into consideration for estimation of their alternatives.
A multi-criteria decision-making (MCDM) methodology, the Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP), which takes
into consideration both quantitative and qualitative criteria, was used to evaluate three suppliers of improvers
(a major ingredient) for bread production in a bakery,UIB, in southwest Nigeria. This method uses a ranking
scale when comparing alternatives. A consistency ratio is estimated when data have been collected to check for
the consistency of judgments to ensure an accurate result is obtained with the method.
It was discovered that Supplier C adds more value to UIB because it had the highest priority weight of 0.346,
although it was keenly followed by suppliers B and C with weights 0.336 and 0.317 respectively.
Results showed that each supplier fared well under one criteria or the other and there was a generally
good performance from all suppliers.
Selection of Equipment by Using Saw and Vikor Methods IJERA Editor
Now a days, Lean manufacturing becomes a key strategy for global competition. In this environment the most important process is the selection of the equipment. Equipment selection is a very important issue for effective manufacturing companies due to the fact that improperly selected machines can negatively affect the overall performance of manufacturing system. The availability of large number of equipments are more hence, the selection of suitable equipment for certain operation/ product becomes difficult. On the other hand selecting the best equipment among many alternatives is a Multi-criteria decision making ( MCDM ) Problems. In this Paper an approach which employs SAW, VIKOR Methods proposed for the equipment selection problem. The SAW and VIKOR is used to analyze the structure of the equipment selection problem and to determine weights of criteria and to obtain Final Ranking
The selection of the best employees is one of the process of evaluating how well the performance of the employees is adjusted to the standards set by the company and usually done by top management such as General Manager or Director. In general, the selection of the best employees is still perform manually with many criteria and alternatives, and this usually make it difficult top managerial making decisions as well as the selection of the best employees periodically into a long and complicated process. Therefore, it is necessary to build a decision support system that can help facilitate the decision maker in determining the best choice based on standard criteria, faster, and more objective. In this research, the computational method of decision-making system used is Technique for Order of Preference by Similarity to Ideal Solution (TOPSIS). The criteria used in the selection of the best employees are: job responsibilities, work discipline, work quality, and behaviour. The final result of the global priority value of the best employee candidates is used as the best employee selection decision making tool by top management.

A Supplier Selection Criteria Using Boolean Association Rule MiningWaqas Tariq
Supplier selection is a multi criteria problem, nowadays it is very difficult to select a good supplier among huge number of suppliers. To select a good supplier among numbers of supplier we include both qualitative and quantitative factors. In this project we use Boolean association rule mining to count the support and confidence of suppliers which is based on different qualitative and quantitative criteria of suppliers. These projects generate a rule with some support and confidence and select the supplier who satisfied the criteria condition (Boolean association rule).
Plant location selection by using MCDM methodsIJERA Editor
Plant location selection has a critical impact on the performance of manufacturing companies. The cost associated with acquiring the land and facility construction makes the location selection a long-term investment decision. The preeminent location is that which results in higher economic benefits through increased productivity and good distribution network. Both potential qualitative and quantitative criteria’s are to be considered for selecting the proper plant location from a given set of alternatives. Consequently, from the literature survey, it is found that the Multi criteria decision-making (MCDM) is found to be an effective approach to solve the location selection problems. In the present research, an integrated decision-making methodology is designed which employs the two well-known decision making techniques, namely Analytical hierarchy process (AHP), and Preference ranking organization method for enrichment evaluations (PROMETHEE-II) in order to make the best use of information available, either implicitly or explicitly. It is analyze the structure for the solution of plant location problems and to obtain weights of the selected criteria’s. PROMETHEE-II is employed to solve decision-making problems with multiple conflicting criteria and alternatives.

At the end of learning at an educational level, leaders often perceive difficulties in
determining the best students at a certain level of education. Cumulative Achievement Index may
not be used for decision makers in determining the best students. There are criteria other criteria that
influence them are actively organize, have never done a repair value, never follow short semester,
never leave. Using these criteria and using Multi-Criteria Decision Making (MCDM) based methods
applied to decision support systems can deliver the expected outcomes of higher education leaders.
Many methods can be used on decision support systems such as Promethee, Promethee II, Electre,

Decision support systems, Supplier selection, Information systems, Boolean al...ijmpict
For organizations operating with number of products/services and number of suppliers, to select the right
supplier meeting all their requirements will be a challenging job. Such organizations need a good
decision support system to evaluate the suppliers effectively. Several decision support systems have been
reported to deal with complex selection process to decide the right supplier. Many mathematical models
have also been developed. This paper presents a new method, named as Bit Decision Making (BDM)
method, which treats such complex system of decision making as a collection and sequence of reasonable
number of meaningful and manageable sub-systems by identifying and processing the relevant decision
criteria in each sub-system. Help of Boolean logic and Boolean algebra is taken to assign binary digit
values to the selection criteria and generate mathematical equations that correlate the inputs to the output
at each stage of decision making. Each sub-system with its own mathematical model has been treated as a
standardized decision sub-system for that phase of making decision in evaluating suppliers. The sequence
and connectivity of the sub-systems along with their outputs finally lead to selection of the best supplier. A
real-world case of evaluation of information technology (IT) tenders has been dealt with for application of
the proposed method. The paper discusses in detail the theory, methodology, application and features of
the new method.

Hierarchical Digital Twin of a Naval Power SystemKerry Sado
A hierarchical digital twin of a Naval DC power system has been developed and experimentally verified. Similar to other state-of-the-art digital twins, this technology creates a digital replica of the physical system executed in real-time or faster, which can modify hardware controls. However, its advantage stems from distributing computational efforts by utilizing a hierarchical structure composed of lower-level digital twin blocks and a higher-level system digital twin. Each digital twin block is associated with a physical subsystem of the hardware and communicates with a singular system digital twin, which creates a system-level response. By extracting information from each level of the hierarchy, power system controls of the hardware were reconfigured autonomously. This hierarchical digital twin development offers several advantages over other digital twins, particularly in the field of naval power systems. The hierarchical structure allows for greater computational efficiency and scalability while the ability to autonomously reconfigure hardware controls offers increased flexibility and responsiveness. The hierarchical decomposition and models utilized were well aligned with the physical twin, as indicated by the maximum deviations between the developed digital twin hierarchy and the hardware.
