Impact of Waste Engine Oil and Fly Ash on Concrete Composition and Engineerin...ijtsrd
Construction Industry is accelerating day by day, which results in increasing demand of basic civil engineering material i.e. cement. Engineers are looking for alternative of expensive construction since long. Cement, binder in concrete, is an expensive and exorbitant civil engineering material and it increases the Constructional budget. Not only this, but also cement marks the highest consumption throughout the world after water. The carbon credits to the environment during cement production, is an alarming issue. If it keeps following the exact pace as today, it is probable to reach annual cement production up to about 600 metric tones by 2025 in India alone and the globe will change into hot air balloon. Cement industry alone contribute to 2.4 to the total carbon emissions round the globe. Present research is an approach to relieve some burden of environment and construction industry as well. This research is aimed to achieve these objectives To understand the characteristic features of waste engine oil WEO and fly ash FA , to investigate impact of incorporation of WEO and FA on engineering properties of green and hardened concrete and to find the optimum content of FA and WEO to form the modified concrete mix with improved properties. Content of additives i.e Fly ash and WEO in present investigation as a substitute of cement is 30,40 and 50 and 0.5, 0.75 and 1 resp. The properties like workability, air content and porosity were improved by the addition of FA UEO, but compressive strength is adversely affected. So, for FA content of 40 and UEO content of 0.5 showed the optimum properties by least decline in compressive strength. Along with these quantitative results from experiments, other inferences are made qualitatively and it is forthcoming that segregation, bleeding and effect of freeze thaw cycles are extremely diminished with this proposed modification. Environmental Feasibility in Utilization of Foundry Solid Waste (Slag) for M2...iosrjce
Slag utilized here is obtained from the blasting process of the metal ore in a Cupola furnace .Slag
is a by-product of the iron and steel manufacturing process. Generally a blast furnace operates on a
continuous basis and produces approximately 250 — 300 kg of slag per tons of iron produced. The slag is
collected in a foundry in Coimbatore and it is approximately graded to the size of a coarse aggregate used in
M20 grade concrete (i.e size of a 20mm jelly) and partial replacement of the coarse aggregate is seen in
initial fractions. Also the fine aggregate used in M20 concrete mix ratio is completely replaced by use of
quarry dust which is a cheaper material when compared to sand. Ratio of fine and coarse aggregates
replacement are prepared and accordingly the cubes are casted as per IS:456-2000 M20 mix ratio. Then the
cubes are set for curing in water for 28 days. The leachate analysis is carried out by taking water samples for
every consecutive four days till the 28th day and the samples are analyzed for metals which are of high
environmental concern. After the curing process the cubes are taken out and tested for compressibility .So in
this project “WEALTH FROM WASTE” concept is established by using foundry solid waste (slag) and quarry
dust as a replacement for normal coarse and fine aggregate, such that both civil and environmental concerns
are taken into account

A Review on Potential of Utilizing Metal Industry Wastes in Construction Indu...ijsrd.com
This exploration work is an effort to develop the awareness & importance of industrial waste management & its utilization in productive manner in construction industry. In today's more environmentally-conscious world, a more responsible approach to the environment is to increase the use of by-products of one industry which is disposed off as a waste but can be used as a raw material for some other industry. Traditionally materials like clay, sand, stone, gravels, cement, brick, block, tiles, etc. are being used as major building materials in construction sector. All these materials have been produced from the existing natural resources and will have intrinsic distinctiveness for damaging the environment due to their continuous exploitation and increasing cost incrementally. Hence it is essential to find functional substitutes for conventional building materials in the construction industry. For above purpose the exploration study is carried out for understanding and determining the scope of utilization of waste from metal industry such as silica fume, copper slag, foundry waste sand and ground granulated blast furnace slag (metal industry) in construction industry. In our country annually huge quantities of wastes are produced by the industries. Instead of disposing-off these wastes if they are utilized in such a manner then it will provide an eco-friendly solution, simultaneously solving the problem of pollution and raising the step towards economy & obviously towards progress of the nation.

ALTERNATE AND LOW COST CONSTRUCTION MATERIAL: RICE HUSK ASH (RHA)AM Publications
Due to pozzolanic reactivity, Rice Husk Ash is used as a supplementary cementing material in concrete. It has
economical and technical advantages to be used in concrete. I am going to replace cement by the use of RHA by 5%,10% &
15% by weight of cement in three different experiment to find out the maximum strength and compare it with the strength of
normal concrete by using the grade of M20 at the days of 7 and 14. This research therefore is an investigation of the
performance of the concrete made of partially replacing OPC with RHA on the structural integrity and properties of RHA
concrete.

Hybrid optimization of pumped hydro system and solar- Engr. Abdul-Azeez.pdffxintegritypublishin
Advancements in technology unveil a myriad of electrical and electronic breakthroughs geared towards efficiently harnessing limited resources to meet human energy demands. The optimization of hybrid solar PV panels and pumped hydro energy supply systems plays a pivotal role in utilizing natural resources effectively. This initiative not only benefits humanity but also fosters environmental sustainability. The study investigated the design optimization of these hybrid systems, focusing on understanding solar radiation patterns, identifying geographical influences on solar radiation, formulating a mathematical model for system optimization, and determining the optimal configuration of PV panels and pumped hydro storage. Through a comparative analysis approach and eight weeks of data collection, the study addressed key research questions related to solar radiation patterns and optimal system design. The findings highlighted regions with heightened solar radiation levels, showcasing substantial potential for power generation and emphasizing the system's efficiency. Optimizing system design significantly boosted power generation, promoted renewable energy utilization, and enhanced energy storage capacity. The study underscored the benefits of optimizing hybrid solar PV panels and pumped hydro energy supply systems for sustainable energy usage. Optimizing the design of solar PV panels and pumped hydro energy supply systems as examined across diverse climatic conditions in a developing country, not only enhances power generation but also improves the integration of renewable energy sources and boosts energy storage capacities, particularly beneficial for less economically prosperous regions. Additionally, the study provides valuable insights for advancing energy research in economically viable areas. Recommendations included conducting site-specific assessments, utilizing advanced modeling tools, implementing regular maintenance protocols, and enhancing communication among system components.

Immunizing Image Classifiers Against Localized Adversary Attacksgerogepatton
This paper addresses the vulnerability of deep learning models, particularly convolutional neural networks
(CNN)s, to adversarial attacks and presents a proactive training technique designed to counter them. We
introduce a novel volumization algorithm, which transforms 2D images into 3D volumetric representations.
When combined with 3D convolution and deep curriculum learning optimization (CLO), itsignificantly improves
the immunity of models against localized universal attacks by up to 40%. We evaluate our proposed approach
using contemporary CNN architectures and the modified Canadian Institute for Advanced Research (CIFAR-10
and CIFAR-100) and ImageNet Large Scale Visual Recognition Challenge (ILSVRC12) datasets, showcasing
accuracy improvements over previous techniques. The results indicate that the combination of the volumetric
input and curriculum learning holds significant promise for mitigating adversarial attacks without necessitating
adversary training.
