This document discusses optimizing the foam volume in foam concrete. Foam concrete has properties like high strength-to-weight ratio and low density. The study limits the mix to a water-cement ratio of 0.45, cement-sand ratio of 1:2, and uses only coarse aggregate. Specimens with foam volumes ranging from 2.5-20% by weight of cement were tested. Results found that density decreases and compressive strength significantly reduces with higher foam volumes. The optimum foam volumes were determined to be 5-7.5% based on achieving a balance between low density and adequate compressive strength.
