1. The study examines using geo grids to improve the strength of base courses for flexible pavements built on weak subgrade soils. California bearing ratio (CBR) tests were performed on soil with geo grids placed in different locations. 2. CBR values increased the most when a layer of coarse aggregate was added below the geo grid, with the highest CBR reached when both geo grid and coarse aggregate were used. 3. Based on CBR test results, the required thickness of the flexible pavement could be reduced by 312mm when geo grid and coarse aggregate were used to reinforce the soil.
