This document provides a general review of fiber reinforced polymer (FRP) bridge deck structures. It discusses that FRP bridge decks perform better than conventional structures as they are lightweight, durable, strong, stiff, and resistant to corrosion. The document reviews the use of FRP in bridge construction in India and China. It examines the materials, design considerations, and applications of FRP bridge decks. Several studies on the behavior and performance of FRP bridge decks under different loads and conditions are also summarized. The document concludes that FRP materials show promising potential for use in bridge construction due to their technical advantages over conventional materials.

Fiber-reinforced polymer (FRP) application is a very effective way to repair and strengthen structures that have
become structurally weak over their life span. FRP repair systems provide an economically viable alternative to traditional
repair systems and materials. In this study, an experimental investigation on the flexural behavior of RC T-beams
strengthened using glass fiber reinforced polymer (GFRP) sheets are carried out.
Reinforced concrete T beams externally bonded with GFRP sheets were tested to failure using a symmetrical two
point static loading system. Seven RC T-beams were casted for this experimental test. All of them were weak in flexure and
were having same reinforcement detailing. One beam was used as a control beam and six beams were strengthened using
different configurations of glass fiber reinforced polymer (GFRP) sheets. Experimental data on load, deflection and failure
modes of each of the beams were obtained. The effect of different amount and configuration of GFRP on ultimate load
carrying capacity and failure mode of the beams were investigated.
The experimental results show that externally bonded GFRP can increase the flexural capacity of the beam
significantly. In addition, the results indicated that the most effective configuration was the U-wrap GFRP.A series of
comparative studies on deflection between the present experimental data and results from finite element method and IS code
method were made. A future area of research are being outlined.

Many of the existing reinforced concrete structures throughout the world are in urgent need of strengthening, repair or reconstruction because of deterioration due to various factors like corrosion, lack of detailing, failure of bonding between beam-column joints, increase in service loads, etc., leading to cracking, spalling, loss of strength, deflection, etc., Direct observation of these damaged structures has shown that damage occurs usually at the beam-column joints, with failure in bending or shear, depending on geometry and reinforcement distribution type.A nonlinear finite element analysis that is a simulation technique is used in this work to evaluate the effectiveness of retrofitting technique called “wrapping technique” for using carbon fibres (FRP) for strengthening of RC beam-column connections damaged due to various reasons. After carrying out a nonlinear finite element analysis of a reinforced concrete frame (Controlled Specimen) and reinforced concrete frame where carbon fibres are attached to the beam column joint portion in different patterns ,the measured response histories of the original and strengthened specimens are then subsequently compared. It is seen that the strengthened specimens exhibit significant increase in strength, stiffness, and stability as compared to controlled specimens. It appears that the proposed simulation technique will have a significant impact in engineering practice in the near future.

EXPERIMENTAL INVESTIGATION OF REINFORCEMENT COUPLERS AS REPLACEMENT OF BENT BARrk pandey
In reinforced concrete structures, it is essential to enhance the performance of
beam–column joints in moderate and severe seismic susceptibility areas. An attempt has
been made to study and evaluate the performance of exterior beam–column joint using
proper reinforcement anchorage and joint core detail. The anchorages are detailed as per
ACI-352 (Mechanical anchorage), ACI-318 (900Standard bent anchorages) and IS-456 along
with confinement as per IS-13920. Significant improvements were observed in seismic
performance, ductility and strength while using stirrups bar in combination with mechanical
anchorage detail for higher seismic prone areas, apart from resolution to reducing
congestion of reinforcement in joint core. To assess the performances of anchorages and
joint details, three groups of three specimens each were tested under monolithic loading.
The test results are evaluated and presented in this paper.
Reinforcement of Reinforced Concrete Beams using CFRP and GFRPijtsrd
Concrete, steel and masonry materials are the common materials used for housing, office buildings, bridges, power plant structures and these structures are being deteriorated with age. The deterioration of the structures is due to the design deficiency, materials deficiency, poor workmanship and extreme loads. Most of the investigation reports on strengthening of damaged RC structures are based on patch repairing and using FRP sheets for flexural, shear and compressive strengthening of members. This research work is mainly focused on retrofitting of RC beams using GFRP and CFRP sheets. In this study the flexural behaviour of M 20, 40and M60grade RC beams retrofitted with single, double and triple layers of GFRP sheets is done and all the beams are analysed using ANSYS modelling and compare with the experimental results. From the presence study, it is derived that strengthening of RC beams with GFRP and CFRP sheets can enhance the load carrying capacity of beams and at the same time deflections up to yield stage of loading is increased and further the deflections are reduced up to ultimate stage of loading. The RC beams strengthened with GFRP and CFRP sheets show a marked reduction in crack width at all stages of loading and substantial delay in the formation of first crack. CFD analysis is incredibly effective at solving mysteries and improving the performance of complex systems!
Here's a great example: At a large natural gas-fired power plant, where they use waste heat to generate steam and energy, they were puzzled that their boiler wasn't producing as much steam as expected.
R&R and Tetra Engineering Group Inc. were asked to solve the issue with reduced steam production.
An inspection had shown that a significant amount of hot flue gas was bypassing the boiler tubes, where the heat was supposed to be transferred.
R&R Consult conducted a CFD analysis, which revealed that 6.3% of the flue gas was bypassing the boiler tubes without transferring heat. The analysis also showed that the flue gas was instead being directed along the sides of the boiler and between the modules that were supposed to capture the heat. This was the cause of the reduced performance.
Based on our results, Tetra Engineering installed covering plates to reduce the bypass flow. This improved the boiler's performance and increased electricity production.

Optimizing system design significantly boosted power generation, promoted renewable energy utilization, and enhanced energy storage capacity. The study underscored the benefits of optimizing hybrid solar PV panels and pumped hydro energy supply systems for sustainable energy usage. Optimizing the design of solar PV panels and pumped hydro energy supply systems as examined across diverse climatic conditions in a developing country, not only enhances power generation but also improves the integration of renewable energy sources and boosts energy storage capacities, particularly beneficial for less economically prosperous regions. Immunizing Image Classifiers Against Localized Adversary Attacksgerogepatton
This paper addresses the vulnerability of deep learning models, particularly convolutional neural networks
(CNN)s, to adversarial attacks and presents a proactive training technique designed to counter them. We
introduce a novel volumization algorithm, which transforms 2D images into 3D volumetric representations.
When combined with 3D convolution and deep curriculum learning optimization (CLO), itsignificantly improves
the immunity of models against localized universal attacks by up to 40%. We evaluate our proposed approach
using contemporary CNN architectures and the modified Canadian Institute for Advanced Research (CIFAR-10
and CIFAR-100) and ImageNet Large Scale Visual Recognition Challenge (ILSVRC12) datasets, showcasing
accuracy improvements over previous techniques. The results indicate that the combination of the volumetric
input and curriculum learning holds significant promise for mitigating adversarial attacks without necessitating
adversary training.
