remembered as PIES.

  • 1. Understand the importance of engagement in leisure and social activities in health and social care 7th March 2016
  • 3.  Recognise a variety of social and leisure activities in health and social care  Describe the importance of leisure activities  Describe why activities are important for an individuals well-being  Explore ways leisure and social activities support relationships  Evaluate the importance of leisure and social activities
  • 4.  Think of some social and leisure activities - write on the post it notes and stick on the board.  You have 2 minutes to think of as many as possible. Timer
  • 5.  Identify social and leisure activities you take part in  Have you made new friends by taking part in the activities?  How have the activities affected your well- being
  • 6.  Looking at the activity graffiti sheets how could you ensure you are providing an inclusive environment?
  • 7.  Identify how the service users are feeling. Dementia
  • 8.  Service users may have a variety of needs, which may mean they could benefit from creative and therapeutic activities. These can be remembered as PIES.
