Induction Self-Assessment
Criteria Try and identify criteria you have achieved
throughout your project. It’s good practiceto
become familiar with the criteria to help you with
future projects.
AC1: Informing ideas
Use skills for informing ideas, interpreting the brief and
developing ideas and outcomes as they progress.
A lotof thought went into the idea developing stage
at the startof the project. Only thing is,itmight not
seem likethat consideringa lotof our research
documents had managed to get lost.
AC2: Problem solving
Show problem solving throughout by engaging with the
brief and its requirements including ideas generation,
experimentation, testing and reflection on the
meaning, purpose function of your work.
The biggest issuewe had to solveas group was the
files beingdeleted and loston the macs.Files we
needed to prove our participation and planningon
the project. So, to do our bests to solvethis, work
would be re-done in an attempt to savethe fallen.
Annoyingly, not everything was saveable, but all
three of us put the effort into creatinga sequel for
the work we could as well as findingbetter areas to
saveit all.
AC3: Technical skill
Show technical skills throughout by exploiting the
potential of media, materials, techniques and processes.
In early stages of the project, this might be when
investigating material opportunities. Later it would be in
the outcomes or their presentation.
From programs on the computer to getting our
hands on the cameras,a lot of new equipment had
been introduced then investigated as we learned
how to work, monitor and control creatingwhat we
imaginewith what we have access to.
An example to prove this pointwould include
Jasmine, who made the promotional poster for our
project, who had never used Adobe Photoshop
beforehand. But after a mess around on it to create
the final piece, she got the hang of itwhich was
great.
AC4: Professional practice
Show how you apply professionalism to
your assignment through technical practice, project
management and working safely.
Before rollingthe cameras,we would ask permission
of who we were shooting before goingahead and
doingit. Therefore, everyone who performed in the
video had consented to be apart, then anyone who
didn’t want to be, wasn’t shot.
AC5: Communication
Show skills in communicating the meaning, purpose and
function of work, including development, outcomes and
presentation, in order to engage the audience.
Communication for the induction projectwent well.
Already knowing Emily Smith previously from
school, itwas easier for us to discuss our plans,
ideas, updates, anythingwe needed from the other
we knew we could rely on each other.
Learnerself-reflection
Overall, whatskillsandknowledge have you
learnedanddevelopedthroughoutthisproject.
What have beenyourstrengthsandwhatdo
youneedto furtherdevelop?
Although they won’t be complex as such, but skills
were definitely gained by usingnew equipment for
the project; includingthe SLR cameras and tripod.
Knowledge earned will haveto be about the saving
progress.I know now justa simplesaveisn’tenough
as itis very easy to loseprevious work. I now have
both an SD card and a memory stick accessibleready
for the next project.
2. My strengths on the projecthad to be the planning,
knowing what I wanted us to do and how to achieve
that before the deadline. From this courseI am
lookingforward to be gainingmore and developing
that knowledge all on the process of filmmaking.
