Incoming and Outgoing Shipments in 1 STEP Using Odoo 17
Q1A Practice Task
1. Describe how you developed digital technology skills for media production and
evaluate how these skills contributed to creative decision making. Refer to a
range of examples in your answer to show how these skills developed over time.
Paragraph 1:
Introduction which explains main coursework projects you did. It can be short.
During my first year doing my media studies course I created an opening sequence for
a teen drama named Adversity. In my second year I created a teaser trailer, poster and
magazine about a thriller film titled He Loves Me Not.
Paragraph 2:
Suggest something about your starting point with the skills area in question. What skills
did you have already and how were these illustrated. Use example.
At the beginning I only had basic skills in print media, using software such as Photoshop
and Adobe Illustrator. Having these skills allowed me to understand and develop further
when using these applications.
Paragraph 3:
Talk through use of skill in early projects and what you learnt and developed through
these. Use examples to support what you’re saying.
During my first year I learnt many basic skills on Final Cut Pro such as Importing clips,
favoriting clips (to ease the selection process) and layering sound. We also did smaller
tasks such as our Premlin task that allowed us to learn the skills of continuity and
editing. Another smaller task we did in our first year was an Arlington Road remake
where we learnt montage and title sequence filming and editing skills. In this task we
also learnt how to use special effects, transitions, filters and sound effects. All these
small aspects to creating video technology that we learnt in early stages allowed me to
develop and advance my skills in my later projects.
Paragraph 4:
Go on to demonstrate how your skills developed in later projects, backed up by
examples. Reflect back on how this represents/moves forward from your early position
and how the development of these skills enabled you to be more creative.
Having these skills gave me the confidence to learn more advanced ones. An example
of this is using the continuity skills from our Premlin task to edit our final AS Media
opening sequence. I learnt how to use the slice tool that expands the clip and slows it
2. down so that the clip can be cut at the precise moment to allow the sequence to flow as
smoothly as possible.
Paragraph 5:
Short Conclusion:
Overall, I am confident that I can use all video technology and print media to a high
standard. I have learnt a range of advanced skills in both video technology and print
media and believe that i can create an efficient professional media product using these
developed skills.
