Blame On Your Body, By Maria Menchu L Bravo
SHAME ON YOUR FAT BODY by Maria Menchu L. Bravo Did anyone of you thought how
words greatly affect a person s life? Words that we thought are just words, no harm can come
from just saying whatever you want. Have anyone of you heard the phrases like her body is flat
, I m so sorry for her because she s so fat , You need to lose weight and many more. It appears that
not only is it heard but read as well in magazines, newspapers and social media constantly
advocating How to lose weight in days and how to appear slimmer and hide the cellulites in your
body . This is just some of the multiple examples on how body shaming happens in our society.
Comedy shows use big bodied women and men as the basis of many jokes. I am saddened that

Firstly we must understand that people have different body types and shapes, we are not created
differently in order for others to categorize us into something. We must stand up to those who
keeps on pinning us down, don t let anyone stop you from doing what you want. In 2012,
Jennifer Livingston, a local news anchor in Wisconsin, received a fat shaming email from a
viewer. She then said that there are children who don t know better. Who get emails as critical as
the one I received, or in many cases, even worse, each and every day. She said in her last
statement that is dedicated to everyone. Those who are lost and struggling with their weight,
color of the skin, sexual preference, disabilities and even the acnes on their faces that they
should not let bullies define their self worth. Stand up if you know you are right and didn t do
anything wrong. In order to completely stop body shaming everyone or the people in the society
must motivate, support and encourage one another. Just like what happened to Sean Dancing
Man O Brien, he was bullied in social media for dancing in public. Someone posted his picture
with the caption Spotted this specimen trying to dance the other week. He stopped when he saw
us laughing when the photo went viral the group of body positive women joined together and
created a dance party for him. 1,000 came and supported Sean. Body shaming will stop if people
will realize that there is no wrong in being too fat, too

The Federal Bureau Of Prisons
Healthcare is a big topic no matter how you view it, but when looking at it from the point of a
person who is in prison, it takes on a whole new view. Those who are in prison have federal and
state laws that say that the prisons must provide them with medical facilities for their healthcare
needs. This paper will identify a governmental agency that regulates the healthcare that is provided
to prisoners in an institution within the United States, along with the foundation of such an agency
and who regulates the licenses, accreditation, certifications, and authorization for employment for
those who work within one of these facilities.
The Federal Bureau of Prisons
The Federal Bureau of Prisons (BOP) is an agency that was created on May 14, 1930 and
approved of by then president Herbert Hoover. Its main headquarters is in Washington, D.C. The
BOP is a subdivision of the United States Justice Department and is responsible for the
administration of the federal prison system. Its sole purpose is to provide more open minded and
compassionate care to those who are federal inmates within the United States prison system. This
agency is also responsible for providing medically needed health care to inmates in agreement with
federal and state laws. One of the most negative aspects that the BOP is responsible for is carrying
out all judicially mandated federal executions, including the lethal injection of inmates who have
been sentenced to death for a crime they have

What Is Cloud Computing
Cloud Computing is an innovating new IT service that enables multiple services like storage,
web hosting and computing under the same roof. Many companies are moving their services to
this technology with the flexibility of pay as you go model where a customer pays only for the
services used leading to cost saving for them. It also helps in terminating the need for large
infrastructure maintenance and development. Multiple Virtual Machines (VMs) having varying
resource locations can be operated together by a physical machine through utilization of
hardware virtualization by Clouds [1]. There can be an imbalance in a PM due to a varying load of
each VM due to over load of resource demand and it can affect the performance of VMs on the PM

Moreover, A long term load balance is not maintained since it only gets load balance at the
expected time spot. Additionally, it also requires a Markov Chain Model and calculation of
transition probability matrix for each VM in the system that leads to the elimination of
overhead in a system with more VMs [1]. To avoid the SLA violation, there is a need for an
algorithm that can help in migration of VMs out of PMs prior to getting overloaded and
providing a load balance state for a long time. It should also reduce the overhead and delay
caused during balancing. For meeting these requirements, a proactive load balancing algorithm
Markov Decision Process (MDP) was proposed [1]. There are two challenges associated with this
Process. The components of MDP are states (s), actions (a), transition probabilities (P), and
rewards (R). These components should be well designed for low overhead. There is a
probability of transition to send when the action is taken by the state and then it the reward is
received. MDP records the transitions of the load state of a PM when each VM is moving out
and it is considered as an action that creates an unwanted cost and is inaccurate because of varying
time of VM load [1]. MDP records the transitions amongst the PM load states by utilizing them as a
state and taking out VM in a

Teaching
LESSON 1 1. Which of the instructional materials enumerated in this lesson do you often use? Are
there categories you have not tried? Why?
Materials often used: A. Printed and Duplicated Materials
I do use a lot of printed materials in teaching my pupils. I do find that my pupils do better when
we are making use of the board but I do need an evidence to show how the pupil is doing to their
parent or guardian and that is by means of printed materials. B. Non Projected Display Materials
I handle kids with different needs; one for example is that I have pupils with Autism. Those who
are on the spectrum learn best with visual materials that is why the center that I m in has a lot of
instructional materials to choose from. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Using Microsoft word in creating stories, paragraphs or any written expression helps the learners
write grammatically correct sentences easily and learn faster. * Engaging.
Others may find computers amusing while others may have access to the newest gadget in the
market, over all it appeals to almost every learner, resulting to a favorable outcome for the teacher.
3. If your school has been using software in teaching, pick out a particular lesson or unit based on
the software description. What are its merits as well as its limitations? Some of my pupils are
children with autism. Part of their characteristics is that they have a hard time distinguishing others
body parts from them. One computer application that we use is the Our Body Parts . This app helps
my pupils identify their body parts and helps them understand that they can get things using their
own hand.

Reflection On Man s Search For Meaning

/ reflecting on Viktor Frankl s Man s Search for Meaning. In my reflection I will compare the
main philosophical message of frankl s experience and try to compare its meaning to my very
own life experience. In order to do this I must give you some personal background while
growing up I was born with some challenging complications due to a lack of oxygen at birth I
was diagnosed with ataxic cerebral palsy. The thing about ataxic cerebral palsy is that it has
affected my life in many ways some miniscule others immense. I can write an entire book on my
childhood / adolescence and some of the many challenges I have faced but that s neither here...

At the time I took extreme interest in Frankl s parable of comparing the actions of his comrades
to that of swine and others of saints to this day this still resonates with me. Here are people who
find themselves in one of the worst situations imaginable a nazi concentration camp these are
people with virtually no freedom and have experienced great pain and suffering but even in this
darkest hour Frankl explains that people still had to power to choose how they would react to
the situations presented to them. Now I am a libertarian by nature and I strongly believe in the
power of self determination but I even believe that some circumstances can influence man and
hinder his decision making skills . Take depression for example one of the worst things to say to
a person suffering with depression would be to chastise them with so called tough love
statements such as calling the person lazy and a loser in my opinion statements such as these
can only make the situation worse. The point I am trying to make is that the person with
depression is not living with the same reality as the rest of us while it s technically true it s their
fault for waking up at two in the afternoon for the third time in a week it s also true to state that
they only did so because their brain chemistry caused them to lose the proper amount sleep and
motivation to wake up on reasonable time. I use the example of depression because I

Things Fall Apart Gender Roles

Introduction:
Things Fall Apart by Chinua Achebe is a masterpiece and a good representation of Africa. It shows
Africans conflict with white colonizers through Okonkwo s eyes who is the protagonist of the
narration that represents resistance. The novel, also, shows the nature of Igbo culture as the reader
gets an insight of religious values, Justice system, tradition and customs. In addition, Gender plays
a significant role in things fall apart as everything appears to be gendered such as yam seeds
which is associated with masculinity. Also, there are gender stereotypes that men and women are
expected to fit in. However, sometimes their desires might not meet the framework of femininity
and masculinity. As a result, a conflict between ones desires and societies expectations might take
place. Igbo society appears to be a patriarchal one, where men are superior to women and the more
masculine the man is the more titles he will get, which will gain him more respect. In this essay the

Even though women held important roles, they were inferior to their male counterpart because
of womanhood s association with weakness and fragility. Okonkwo hated anything feminine
because of his father who was a failure due to his effeminacy. Consequently, he works hard to fit
into masculinities framework. . It is obvious that Okonkow is a product of a patriarchal society
where gender role shaped if not all then art of his character. In order for a man to be masculine
being good at physical work is a must. Also, being emotionless, fearless and in constant control of
his family especially women. The more masculine the man is the more he will be rewarded by
earning more titles and respect. While most characters showed acceptance of gender role, some

The Legacy Of Andrew Jackson
Andrew Jackson was born on March 15, 1767 to Scots Irish colonists Andrew and Elizabeth
Hutchinson Jackson in the mountains between North and South Carolina. Jackson was born into
poverty and as a result received very little education growing up. When The British invaded the
Carolinas around 1780, Jackson s mother and two brothers were killed during the conflict and
British soldiers took the young Andrew Jacksonprisoner, leaving him with a lifelong hostility
toward Great Britain. In 1781, Jackson worked for a time in a saddle maker s shop. Later, he
taught school and studied law in Salisbury, North Carolina. In 1787, he was admitted to the bar,
and moved to Jonesborough. Jackson began working as a prosecuting attorney and later set up his
own private practice. Shortly after he met and married Rachel Robards, the daughter of a local
colonel.
Andrew Jackson quickly became a wealthy Tennessee lawyer and rising young politician. In 1796,
Jackson joined a committee tasked with drafting the new Tennessee state constitution and soon
after he became the first man from Tennessee to be elected into the U.S. House of
Representatives. Although after his term was over in March 1797 he returned home without
seeking reelection, he was almost immediately elected into the U.S. Senate. Only a year later
Jackson resigned from the senate and was elected as a judge of Tennessee s superior court. Soon
after he was chosen to head the state militia, a position he held when war broke out between

The Roman Catholic Church Responded Treatment
The Roman Catholic Church responded treatment of Luther, Huguenots in France, relationship with
the Holy Roman Emperor, the Jesuits and the Council of Trent, treatment of Galileo and other

Although some German Princes sided with Luther, it was still declared an outlaw. He protected by
a German Prince Frederick the Wise. He translates Erasmus Greek Bible into German. Holy Roman

emperor. Huguenots in France worked to reform the rest of France, but the Catholic King Henry
III was not about to let that happen. King Louis XIV revoked the Edict of Nantes, this resulted in
driving out hundreds of thousands of his best citizens abroad. The monks at Cluny were
challenging the power of the Holy Roman Emperor, there was also the idea of separation of
church and state. By 1050, King Henry III appointed the Pope he liked which was Clement II.
After his death the archbishops were able to elect the Pope. Henry IV had a serious threat to his
stability. He made his bishops swear loyalty to him. When Gregory excommunicated Henry he
begged for forgiveness and he got it; after Henry was back to placing bishops, he was
excommunicated again. The Germans were eager to see a weakened king siding with the church.

Comparing Women In Beowulf And Sir Gawain
The women in Beowulf, The Wife of Bath, and Sir Gawain and the Green Knight all hold very
important roles within these works. At first glance when reading these works the women do not
appear to be significant characters, or even worth stopping to give a second thought to. The
medieval landscape, as viewed through the eyes of scholars, was hardly populated by women.
Particularly, young unmarried women or maidens have been paid little attention . (Phillips)
However these women, and the roles they posses can tell us a great deal about how women were
regarded by society during these time periods.
Looking at these three tales, and comparing the roles the women take on within these works
presents us with a variety of contrasting roles. The women ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

In the form of the work, the presentation of these women is purposefully symmetrical, inviting
comparisons and contrasts. Those women who act as hostesses and peaceweavers, even while
looking out for their own interests, are central to the poem, and an understanding of the functions of
the women in Beowulf assists the comprehension of a complex poem. Those women presented as
monsters, the hostile hostesses and strifeweavers, are interesting in themselves, and also serve as
counter examples to the other female characters. A thorough investigation of the relationships
between the women and their men uncovers possibilities of a matrilineal undercurrent in the
culture of Beowulf, which may indicate a dim memory of a pagan Germanic past for the Anglo
Saxon poet. Though they are all defined by the men that they are close to, either sons, fathers, or
brothers, none of the women in Beowulf are marginal or excluded. (Gillian

Frank Warren s Inevitable M Article Analysis
On january 1st 2005, Frank Warren started up what became a very successful blog known as
PostSecret, it is a website where anonymous postcards are mailed in and later posted up online to
share with others. Its wide use and popularity has brought to attention the concern of people s
willingness to share secrets as long as they stay anonymous. In today s world where we are
constantly being monitored, it should be no surprise that we have grown the need and desire for
more privacy. In Peter Singer s, Visible Man: Ethics in a World without Secrets , he also speaks
about the concern of increased monitoring but claims that it will create a world where morals are

So what is privacy? Privacy is the ability to keep certain things to yourself, to not be observed nor
disturbed. People s developing need for privacy has been noted through history, and as Peter
Singer states, privacy is viewed quite possibly as a status symbol, since an impoverished peasant
could not afford a house with separate rooms (463). An example would be how the Government
of the United States created the NSA in order to try spy and keep tabs on its citizens privately
without them noticing, which was working up until Julian Assange revealed hundreds of
thousands of classified files which exposed corruption from all over the world including the
government s secret data collection project also known as the NSA. The leaking of these files
brought on a new type of surveillance known as inverse surveillance, or as Steve Mann ( professor
of computer engineering) calls it, sousveillance . Inverse surveillance is meant to keep tabs on the

Experiment 20: Reactivities of Some Alkyl Halides
Purpose: The purpose of this experiment is to examine the reactivities of various alkyl halides
under both SN2 and SN1 reaction conditions. The alkyl halides will be examined based on the
substrate types and solvent the reaction takes place in.
Procedure: For the first part of this experiment, six dry test tubes were obtained and labeled
accordingly to test the following halides: 2 chlorobutane, 2 bromobutane, 1 chlorobutane, 1
bromobutane, 2 chloro 2 methylpropane, and bromobenzene. To each of the six test tubes 2ml
of 15% sodium iodide in acetone was added. 4 drops of the appropriate halide was added to the
test tube labeled for that specific halide. After adding the halide, the test tube was then shaken to
mix thoroughly. If a precipitate formed the time it took was recorded. Since none of the solutions
formed a precipitate at room temperature after five minutes, the test tubes were placed inside of a
hot bath at about 50В°C. After one minute, the test tubes were taken out of the hot bath and
allowed to cool. If any test tubes formed a precipitate, the time it took was recorded on a table. For
the second part of the experiment, again six dry test tubes were obtained and labeled accordingly to
test the following halides: 2 chlorobutane, 2 bromobutane, 1 chlorobutane, 1 bromobutane, 2 chloro

Popular Cars Research Paper
Popular Cars Any gearhead knows that not just any car will do for a project. What kind should
be chosen, though? This mainly depends on the person working on the vehicle. For any
newcomer, the range of possible project vehicles can be staggering to approach, for there are many
possibilities for a person to chose. An effective project usually focuses on a tuner car, muscle car, or
sports car. These are the differences between them all. A tuner car is defined as a vehicle that is
easy to modify and has mostly performance oriented modifications. Many of these vehicles are
sedans, or four door vehicles. They can be anywhere from small to medium in size and take to
forms of traditional sedans, mass produced coupes, and hatchbacks. This is the broadest of all of
the categories of vehicles.
Examples of this type of vehicle are the Honda Civic, Toyota Supra, Mitsubishi Eclipse, and fox

are cars that are designed to go fast, but also handle better than their muscle car counterparts. A
sports car is small, seats one or two people, has a low center of gravity, and is very light compared
to other cars. Unlike muscle cars, sports cars are still manufactured today. Furthermore, the
movement was started in Europe and most sports cars are made by European companies. These

market after the current financial crisis, let us see Russia s case before make a decision. II.
Russia Case Study In energy trade field, Russia, as one of largest energy producers and
exporters, has very similar situation with Canada in energy exports. Both countries are rich in
energy resources and energy exports share significant part of their economic growth. Canada has
largest stable and largest energy consumer U.S. while Russia has the second largest energy
market European countries. Before global financial crisis happened, energy trade is one of the
main reasons driving their economy growth. Russia s energy security depends largely on the
global demand and international energy market price. Thus, Russian energy security is
vulnerable to market forces and benefits from economic stability, particularly that of the
European countries, with whom Russia conducts the majority of its energy trade. Let us see the
history trend of Russia s energy trade during the financial crisis. Russia is the second largest oil
producer and exporter, and the first largest natural gas exporter , while China is the third largest
oil consumer in the world . However, Russia does not like to do the energy trade with China. Free
market does not work well in explaining Russia case. There is only one Russia s pipeline built in

The Financial Accounting Standards Board Essay
On February 26, 2016, the Financial Accounting Standards Board (FASB) issued an Accounting
Standards Update (ASU) which revised the standards on leasing. The intent for this revision was to
improve how leases are being reported on the financial statements. The consensus is that the
classification tests in current use for making this determination fail to provide a faithful and
accurate representation for leasing transactions in general. In 2005, the U.S. Securities and
Exchange Commission had also made recommendations which indicated this need for change in
regard to how leases were being reported. Overall, it is believed that this change would ensure
greater transparency in the financial statements concerning these type transactions. As
commonplace as leasearrangements are, accounting for leases are not quite so clear cut. One of
the hotly debated topics for leasing standards that is currently being discussed is how off
balance sheet financing presents an erroneous and misleading view of a company s true financial
position. This problem began when companies would plan ways to circumvent the rules currently
under U.S. GAAP in attempts to classify leases as operating leases when in actuality they were
capital leases. An example of this when a company purposely designs the leasing arrangements so
that the lease ends at 74% of the asset s estimated life whereas one of the U.S. GAAP criteria for
leases directs that it must be a non cancellable lease term that is

My Personal Leadership Analysis
My definition of leadership is being someone who represents a group of people, or team. This
person takes charge of situations where a person is needed to represent the group or team. This
person also sets goals, a common vision, and represents the team in both good and bad situations.
The person is not afraid to own up to mistakes that the team has made, even if the leader may not
have personally made the mistake. Furthermore, the leader sets the example for the team to
follow. Additionally, this person shares their knowledge and experience and sets the example for
others to follow. The final point and one that I think ultimately creates a good working climate, is
that the person genuinely cares for the team and always has the best interest both personally and
professionally. My values as a leader include family, health, happiness, competence, and trust. It is

East-West Schism Research Paper
The Great Schism of 1054, also called the East West Schism, divided the church into the Eastern
Orthodox Church and the Roman Catholic Church. The split did not just occur randomly; it was a
series of long tensions that had been brewing for years. When the tensions reached the climax in
1054, Pope Leo IX sent delegates to the ecumenical patriarch, Michael Cerulias, and
excommunicated him and his associates. In return, Michael excommunicated the Popeand his
delegates too. The split was done and there would be no coming back. The Schism of 1054 resulted
from an amalgam of issues and conflicts between the Catholic and East Orthodox Church for six
centuries; the result was a wide split between the two churches.
Two preliminary schisms set the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
These causes in a general scope included political debates, theological arguments, social problems,
and economic issues. The first cause was political. It occurred when the Muslims began invading
the Mediterranean world. Many people began to convert to the Islamic religion. This scared the
Catholics and the Eastern Orthodox churches. Thus, began a fight, between the two, to gain as
many followers as possible to enlarge their following. This caused great conflict between the
members of both churches. Each church gained their own spheres of influence. Catholicism taking
up much of Western Europe and the western and northern areas of the Mediterranean. The Eastern
Church took up Asia Minor, the Middle East, and Northern Africa. This caused a further divide and
made the people completely split apart into almost two huge countries. In 800, The Catholic Church
crowned Charlemagne as king of the Holy Roman Empire . This split the country into the West,
which constituted of the Catholic Church and its followers, and the East, which constituted of the
Eastern Orthodox Church and its members. The Eastern Church refused this title and challenged
saying the Catholic Church saying that they could not take a vast area of land and suddenly name it
an empire. The Catholics refused to change their position and this infuriated the Eastern Orthodox
Church and caused the relations between the two to

Execut Muscle Longness
During exercise, the muscles work tirelessly in order for the body to be able to work out. After
physical activity, the body usually has acute muscle soreness and delayed onset muscle soreness.
During acute muscle soreness, pain is felt immediately after exercise. For example, if one works
out their arms and back for an hour, they would feel a pain right after they leave the gym. Although
it might be painful, it only lasts for a few minutes. Because the body has an accumulation of acid
and tissue edema, the muscles become sore. After a while, the blood stream clears the acid and
edema in which causes the pain in the muscles to disappear.
On the other hand, delayed onset muscle soreness (DOMS), has a longer lasting effect on the
muscles.

perform effectively in individual communication. However, in case of mass audience, he is unable
to perform accordingly. The reason behind performing weak in front of a mass audience is his
nervousness. In this context, he is able to manage in hiding his nervousness while delivering
speech. Apart from that, communicationstyle is not enough to create strong impact over the
listeners. The individual should also have a prompt communication skill for attracting the audience
towards the viewpoint. In case of Tim Cook, he is not that active with his physical gesture while
addressing a mass audience (Schriver, 2012).
As opined by (Hawkins Fillion, 2012), communication style of Tim Cook can be more effective
by considering some activities. The activities such as improving presentation and body language
while communicating. Apart from that, a prompt decision should be delivered with sufficient
energy. Rate of speech of Cook is very low, which probably prevents him from presenting his own
statement. On the other hand, Arnold (2014) opposed that appearance of Cook is very formal,
which is not feasible with the agenda of Steve Jobs. Jobs use to maintain his signature turtleneck

The San Diego Charges Vs. The Tennessee Titians Game
Event Description: I attended the San Diego Charges vs. the Tennessee Titians game on
November 6, 2016 at 1:15 p.m. We entered the stadium about 9:45 a.m. to setup for our tailgate
party. We found a huge crowd entering the stadium, in fact, the crowd was much more than we
anticipated and expected. All of my family had on some type of apparel representing one of the
participating teams. We attended this particular game in celebration of my younger brother s
birthday, which was on November 8. In appreciation of my brother, I wore his favorite team s t
shirt for the Tennessee Titians. The game was enjoyable and I found supporters for both of the
team tailgating. The crowd, the music, the competition, the excitement of the game, and the
liveliness and spontaneous actions of the spectators were noteworthy. The crowd, the
enthusiasm of the people and the superb weather made it an interesting and exciting event Core
Competencies of the Company, Act, and/or Facility: I like having cheerleaders and music at the

Lunch Break Research Paper
Lunch is a big problem in this school. I have noticed that we don t have long breaks every day. My
old school used to have two breaks of half an hour each. I think that system will be better for
students, if we get a longer lunch instead of one 30 minute lunch break and a small nutrition break.
http://www.todaysparent.com says that lunchtime is the time to socialize and talk with your
friends. Socializing is an important thing in schooland the more we have it the better. Also you have
to eat your lunch way too fast when you have a short lunch break. http://www.webmd.com says that

The schedule that we have now is one period of 1.5 hours followed by a small 15 minute nutrition
break. After that we have another 1.5 hour period and then a 30 minute lunch. And finally after
lunch two 1.5 hour periods. For a long day like that only 45 minutes of breaks is too short. The
new plan would have a 1.5 hour period followed by a 15 minute nutrition break. Then you will
have another period of 1.5 hours. After that you will have a lunch break for an hour. Followed
by the third period that contains an hour and 15 minutes and finally the last 1.5 hour period. You
will still have a start at 8:30am and the end of the day will be at 3:30pm as usual. Also you have
5 minutes to get to your next class so the periods are actually 1 hour and 25 minutes and 1 hour and
15 minutes for third period.
This new schedule will work much better in my opinion. Students will have more time to relax
and eat their lunch during lunch break. This will cause for a healthier life turns out of research on

Richard II Tragic Hero Essay
Shakespeare really wrote tragedies of great heights and earned standard category. His one of the
best creation Richard II is a historical play rather being a tragedy. The history play is usually
distinguished especially by its political purposes from other kinds of plays.shakespeare emphasized
the political issue mainly in this play. He tried to show the conflict between Richard and
Bolingbroke and finally the rebellion. The play is consequently written not about the down fall of
its hero but around the chronological stages by which Bolingbroke threatens, captures, and retains
the crown. Throughout a tragedyplay readers suffer with the hero and feel sympathy for the hero
but it does not happen with Richard II. So the play cannot be claim as a tragedy.

According to my point of view, Richard II is not a complete tragic hero. He did not have the
qualities of a real tragic hero though he was from a high ststus and died at last. He was not a
good person, a foolish king, a weak and unwise politician, irresponsible self centered person. He
misused his power, increased taxes to accomplish his luxury expenses, took wrong decision,
murderer of his uncle, in a word, he was an unworthy leader.
From the earlier scene Richard II is devoid of for anyone. Through the quarrel between
Bolingbroke and Mowbray, Richard takes advantage to get rid of the crime of murder his uncle
Gloucester.Rather trying to solve the conflict he tried to hide his crime by banishing them.
Richard s inability to make peace between Bolingbroke and Mowbray is sometimes seen as an
indication of his weakness proposed by Tillyard, Campbell, and Ribner. (Elliott. History and

†Prohibition’s successes outweighed its failures in the...
The prohibition era was the period in the US when the manufacture, sale and transportation of
liquor were banned. To completely eliminate alcohol from society was always going to be an
impossible task due to the limited amounts of prohibition officers and the easy manner in which
illegal alcohol could be made and old, so in that aspect of its ambition it failed. However it was
able to reduce alcoholism, and as a result of prohibition fewer arrests for drunkenness were
recorded. With those thoughts in mind, it is important to remember that whist some positives came
from Prohibition, the negatives that came from the policy were far greater and more significant, so
therefore it becomes nigh on impossible to call it a success. The... Show more content on

The government and federal enforcement also experienced moderate success in the attempt to
uphold the laws of prohibition, with agents such as Izzy Einstein and Moe Smith making over
4000 arrests and seizing over 15m dollars worth of illegal liquor. With the only access to alcohol
being through gangster organisations and speakeasies, many people turned to soft drinks as a
new social drink. Consequently this lead to a boom in the soft drink industry with companies In
an alternative aspect, there were several reasons as to why the success of Prohibition was limited.
Firstly, there were huge logistical problems to the policy, with America having 18,700 miles of
coastline and land border. This meant that bootlegging became a big issue with 215m dollars worth
of alcohol being transported across the land border between Detroit and Canada, and thus
ultimately the supply of alcohol coming into the country was never restricted and so the American
public still had access to a plentiful supply of alcohol. The fact that before prohibition Washington
DC had 300 bars, but by the mid 1920s it had over 700 speakeasies, substantiates the point that
alcohol supply actually increased during prohibition. The same

50 Years With Bigfoot Essay
Convinced that the Bigfoot was extremely intelligent by the third year of the research, I was
persuaded by the evidence, that the Bigfoot was a human like being. This led me to explore the
possibility that the Bigfoot had a complete mastery of more than one language, along with a unique
language of its own.
Performing extensive research, I located and listened to any recording I could locate of a Bigfoot
speaking. Mary Green s book 50 Years with Bigfoot: Tennessee Chronicles of Co Existence was
also used as a reference. Mary had compiled a dictionary of Bigfoot words, along with phrases
based on a notebook kept by Janice Carter.

Though Janice still lived on the property her Grandfather had owned, the house was in disrepair and

structurally unsound, so they carefully made their way into the attic. Mary located the trunk with
Janice s assistance. Once the trunk was located, Mary opened the trunk to find the notebook
containing the Bigfoot Dictionary. This convinced Mary of the authenticity of the notebook, and
that Janice was telling the truth about her experiences. Mary took the notebook. She researched the
words and phrases contained in the notebook. Mary discovered that most of the words documented
in the notebook were Cheyenne. There were also some Cherokee words.
Another example of Bigfoot language comes from recordings I have received from reliable first
hand witnesses that lived in Texas. One recording actually had the Bigfoot chanting. The recordings
from Texas contained a mixture of languages to include: Native American, Hebrew, English, and
Spanish. Recordings from a trusted source in Alabama revealed the Bigfoot using a mixture of
Spanish and French. The creatures have a Hodgepodge type language. The content of this language

Adam Smith s The Wealth Of Nations
Adam Smith s The Wealth of Nations in 1776 is usually considered to mark the beginning of
classical economics (Smith, 1776). He was the first to articulate that international trade was not a
zero sum game and it was counterproductive to have a single minded reliance on exports. He
proposed the theory that a country should specialize in manufacturing goods that it can make with
the fewest resources, therefore giving it an advantage in the production of that good. This allows
for global out to be maximized, thereby with free trade each country would end up with a greater
number of goods than before.
His notion was that wealth of nation is determined by its labor and not by the amount of gold. In
addition, he stated that when two nations participate in free trade there is an increase in total
wealth as both nations see a profit in exchange. Widely known as the father of modern economics ,
Adam Smith contributed a significant amount of knowledge regarding the political economy. It
emphasized that markets operate best without the interference of the government. Classical
economists observed that markets regulate themselves when free of coercion. He referred to the
markets self regulating nature, when buyers are able to choose between various suppliers and
companies who do not successfully compete are allowed to fail, as a metaphorical invisible hand ,
which moves markets towards natural equilibrium. During the industrial revolution, Britain
embraced free trade and Smith s

Rhetorical Analysis On Fast Food
This rhetorical analysis is over the effects of fast food and the health of the person eating it. Eat
fast, die young is the motto of the second spoof ad. The reality is that this spoof ad is accurate.
Studies over the past 30 to 50 years show that fast food and junk food is extremely unhealthy and
causes obesity, heart disease, high blood pressure, diabetes, and several other diseases. Most fast
food restaurants serve high calorie and low density foods. That means one gets a lot of calories
and very little nutritional value from the food. Obesity rates have steadily climbed over the past
60 years as have the number of fast food restaurants. The prevalence of obesity and obesity
related diseases has increased rapidly in the U.S. since the mid 1970s. At the same time, the
number of fast food restaurants more than doubled over the same time period, while the number
of other restaurants grew at a much slower pace. (Currie Vigna Moretti Pathania 1) Stating the
fact that when one eats substantial amounts of fast food, the health of that person will
drastically decrease is definitely true. Clearly, it is not hard to notice that a multitude of people
seen on a daily basis are either overweight or obese. Even though it may not be as noticeable, there
is also a large percent of the population with other fast food related illnesses. Diseases such as heart
disease, diabetes, and dietary disorders have all been contributed to by fast food. Diseases like

Analysis Of The Movie Inside Out
Inside Out is the story of a young girl who is forced to leave her old life in Minnesota behind and
to start a new life in San Fransisco all while fighting through her emotions of this big life changing
event. Three theories that we have discussed in class that are present in the movie Inside Out are
the MemoryConsolidation theory, Wish Fulfillment theory, and the Creativity theory. Another
theory not talked about in class but present in the movie is the Cognitive Appraisal theory. Memory
Consolation is a sleep theory. According to this theory sleep helps us restore and rebuild our
fading memories from the day. In the film Inside Out the moment Riley shuts her eyes
symboling that she is asleep her memories from the day start to move down a line. Her memories
are being sent to long term where we see them shooting across the sky like shooting starts as they
go to different places in her memory. In reality Memory Consolidation is where after a memory
has been in short term memory for about fifteen to thirty seconds it is than sent to long term
memory. In order for memories to form in our long term they must have some connection to each
other. The creators of inside out portrayed this by Riley s core memory islands, these islands all
connect with each other and in some way all the rest of her life memories connect with them in
some sort of way. The memories are than stored. After the memories are stored in long term
memory they are later used and if not used in anyway began

Symbolism Of The Black Power Salute
In a world that appropriates and change every symbol until it s reduced to a sad, emojified
shadow of its former self, how will the raised fist salute face retain its intensity? Once an image

Analysis Of The Book Gates By Paul Andrews And Stephen...

1994. This was of course, during the time period when Apple was failing, and released an
operating system, System 9, that nobody needed nor wanted in 1994. IBM sure wished they haven

Windows 95 in less than two days globally. Over 2 million copies in fact, and the first publically

secret life of the ruler of the entire technology industry all the way to present day. The main
author is one of my favorites, since he wrote many articles on PC world, and gave a somewhat

Computers also ranked him as one of the top 4 influential writes about the computer industry. He

Using one case in Latin America, illustrate what the biggest obstacle to democracy is.
A history of militarism and colonialism are the biggest obstacle to democracy in South America.
Using the case of Argentina, this paper will be discussing how its famous history of militarism and
consequent military rule has undermined the concept of a democracy. I will then go into detail
about the certain aspects of military rule, ( The Dirty War , gross economic mismanagement and
patron client relationships), that make it such an obstacle to democracy. I shall also try and explain
how a history of colonialism has made Argentina more susceptible to military rule than perhaps
other countries in the region.

This mix created a new race known as the Criollos Argentine born Spaniards as opposed to the
Peninsulares who were born in Spain. As the population of Criollos grew to outnumber the
Peninsulares the gap between political agendas grew and grew. With the incentive of the
Peninsulares to maintain order and governance over a two tiered system that gave them a high
position in society. As you would imagine, the Criollos had no such plans to maintain this
imperialist system that gave them few rights and opportunities. This growing tension led to
revolution.
The Spainish empire, riddled with economic mismanagement and corruption, saw its power of the
world stage greatly reduced. When Napoleon turned on his ally Spain, imprisoning the Spanish
royal family, chaos was unleashed across Spanish America. In 1810 the Spanish viceroy, a regal
official who ran the country, was deposed. In 1816 Argentina was declared Independent.
One of the most damaging things about colonialism is the effect when the colonisers leave. Many
institutions are often abandoned as been the case in many examples of post colonialism most
notably in Africa and South America. Argentine nationals, left with little political knowledge and
framework found it difficult to establish an united nation. The loss of Spanish rule led to anarchy
and a civil war that would last 50 years.
One of these causes for the intense civil war may be a Latin American

Taking a Look at Prostate Cancer
Prostate cancer is the most common type of carcinoma and the second leading cause of cancer
death in men, following carcinoma of the lung. The risk of developing prostate cancer increases
with age, beginning at age 50, and is also higher among African American men. The two highest
age subpopulations diagnosed are men 55 64 and 65 74 years of age, comprising 29.0% and 35.6%
of all prostate cancerdiagnoses, respectively. The age adjusted incidence rate of prostate canceris
159.3 per 100,000 men per year2. By race, black men have the highest incidence rate of this
disease with an incidence rate of 239.8 per 100,000 men, while Hispanic men have the lowest
with a rate of 133.4 per 100,000 men. The death rate of African Americans is more than double
that of any other race with a mortality rate of 56 per 100,000 men2. Recent data indicates that
cancer develops in 30% of black men ages 50 59 and in 39% of black men 60 692. This is in
contrast to 8% of black men developing it between the ages of 40 and 49. Similar data has been
shown for men with a family history . The age adjusted death rate from prostate cancer has
fortunately decreased by 3.4% between 2001 and 2006 and the lifetime risk of developing prostate
cancer is 15.9% for American men (i.e. 1 in every 6 men) 2.
Though relatively prevalent, the death rate of prostate cancer is lower than that of lung cancer in
men because of, among many other reasons, its slow natural course . Prostate cancer is a very

Critical Review Of Educating Rita
Review of Educating Rita
Educating Rita is a dramatic and comedic play about the differences in social class and education in
Britain. The play takes place in the nineteen seventies to the nineteen eighties and is furthermore
written by English playwright, lyricist, and composer William Russell. William Russell, also
known as Willy Russell, was once a hairdresser himself, just like Rita. Though, today he is better
known as the playwright of many successful plays, such as Shirley Valentine and Blood Brothers.
Educating Rita is a play about twenty seven year old Rita from Liverpool. Rita is married to her
husband Denny, who is never seen on stage, and works as a women s hairdresser. Rita lives a
mediocre life as a part of Britain s working ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The director of the play was Barry McKenna, who has previously directed for That Theatre. He
has also directed modern versions of various famous Shakespeare plays, for instance, Twelfth
Night. With Barry McKenna s previous experiences with interpreting classical plays, I had very
high hopes for his interpretation of Educating Rita.
In Educating Rita, only two people are shown on stage, Rita and Frank. Dawn Wall, a British
actress, played the role of Rita, and Ian Burns played the role of Frank. Ian Burns is British as
well and is also the co founder of That Theatre. Furthermore, he has featured in multiple other
plays, in Denmark and directed by Barry McKenna, such as Proof and Blood Brothers.
Language is of very high importance in Educating Rita. Dawn Wall made a great effort in
emphasizing Rita s roots and social status by staying in a Liverpool inspired Scouse accent, almost
throughout the entire play. This was in stark contrast to Frank s posh and upper class dialect which
was combined with a very intellectual and wide vocabulary. Dawn Wall s way of speaking, use of
slang and multiple vulgar words, definitely gave her character much more life than Ian Burn s
character Frank. In addition to that, Rita also had multiple outfit changes whereas Frank stayed in
the same shirt, positioning the same sweater in different ways on himself throughout the

America will never be the same again, thanks to Marco polo. His adventure has just begun. He

China, Marco became a famous explorer and author. He created a book based on his travels and
everything that he learned including culture, language, ideas, and their development. His
motivators would include, his dad and his uncle which paved his path to go out and discover

own advantage. No, wrong. Marco did this for his own country and to better everyone s life. Not
just his own, he also didn t do this to become famous. The real story of how his book came to life
is that when Marco came back he got captured and told all about his adventures to Rustichello da
Pisa, who wrote them down in a book and eventually named it The Travels of Marco Polo. This
book is what made him famous and got all of his ideas around to America. He was a good and kind

Essay on Rap Music
Imagine an inner city kid having grown u in an environment where real life street violence is a
way of life. His body, having survived personal experiences of violence, endured barely life
sustained conditions, and many sleepless nights caused by the constant yet unpredictable call of
death. His mind doubtful over where his next meal will come from, lost in search of some higher
guidance, struggling through a world, not of innocent childish fantasies, but trapped in a forced
reality. His only outlet is the loud blaring music coddling his already pent up rage, an escape from
these harsh realities, seducing him to a life of violence. In him is created a me against the world

Sadly to say, the innocence of children across America will be lost because of the negative
influences of sex and murder that is brought from gangsta rap.
Violence has spread rapidly and has affected many innocent civilians in various urban cities and
towns across America. According to a 1992 poll by Newsweek out of 1,000 people surveyed,
50.4% backs and 29,9% whites fell victims of violent crimes. (Graham) More and more people are
becoming victims of such crimes that can easily affect a mass amount of people, fortunately, there
is a less amount of innocent civilians of homicide and 52 white males out of 100,000 were victims
of homicide (Graham). Soon, kids will kill each other and society in the future will be completely
washed out.
Most rap songs that contain violence reflects incidents that occur in today s society such as the
Rodney King incident. Rap music brings together a tangle of some of the most complex social,
cultural, and political issues in contemporary American society. Rap and hip hop artists write songs
that promote the killing of enemies as well as targeting institutions such as the church, government,
and justice system (Ro 145) Most artists relive their own painful experiences over and over again
though their music, delaying their own society s process of recovery . for example, in 1989

The Cost Of Immigration Reform
Over the past years, our nation has been dealing with immigration issues. The issues have divided
our nation and brought about disruption in the nations unity. The immigration topic which has been
an issue for many years, was also a major topic in our 2016 presidential election. However not only
that, the topic evokes questions about the outcome of our nation s economy, if all illegal
immigrants were to be removed. In the 2016 Presidential election, both candidates had distinct
outlooks on immigrationreform. Hillary, was committed to the immigrants rights community where
as, Trump was more focused on enforcing stronger immigration laws. Hillary Clinton s position on
immigration reform was to be devoted to the nations incoming immigrants.... Show more content on

However, there are some immigrants that migrate to the U.S. that are disruptive and dangerous. So,
I believe the most effective way to address the issue of immigration would be that of which would
not cause any riot or separation within the people of the United States or any disruption with any of
the other countries. One solution which would be very critical, would be enforcing immigration
laws humanely. Another solution that would be helpful would be that a guest worker friendly
program be created and enforced. Along with the program, I believe that the U.S. should enhance
border security, but not to the extent of building a wall along the border. In conclusion,
immigration has always been a hot topic in the United States, and we all have different outlooks on
the immigration issues. Although some may fail to accept it, immigrants are a major part of our
nation, and it is interesting to see what will happen with our nation after our new president enters
office and begins enforcing their

Theme Of Feminism In Anthem, By Ayn Rand
Anthem is Against Feminism
In the novel Anthem, by Ayn Rand, the theme of female inferiority is shown throughout the novel.
Rand has been known to portray women as obedient and submissive to men in most of her novels.
In Anthem Rand shows how women are inferior to men by; showing that a woman s highest priority
is to follow a man, that men can eliminate and redetermine a woman s identity, and that women are
only there to fit the needs of a man.
In the novel, Liberty begs to never be left behind while they are in the Uncharted Forest because
she cannot live without him. Rand s view on the responsibility of women in a society is that
women are a minority in the government. Rand shows the lack of importance of females in
government because, there were five members of the Council, three of the male gender and two of
the female (25 26). She shows that the opinions of women do not have as much value as the
opinion of a male. The inequality in government represents the imbalance in opportunities and
rights for women and the majority vote favoring the men takes away the voice of the women in
government. After Liberty and Equality run away to the Uncharted Forest, Liberty shows her
allegiance to Equality when she tells him: we have followed you... and we shall follow you
wherever you go. ... Do as you please with us but do not send us away from you (82 83). Liberty
promises her obedience that she will die with him if she needs to.
Rand creates the picture of a woman to sit at the feet of men and support their every need.
Equality renames Liberty two times; this is Rand s way of demonstrating man s dominance over
women. Someone s name is their identity, so him changing her name to what
he sees best is changing her into what he wants her to be. The first time he names her the Golden
One (41), and then again when they are in the forest, Gaea... the mother of a new kind of gods
(99). Equality shows that he has complete control over her and whatever he wants her name to be
is what she goes along with. When Equality sees Liberty for the first time he describes her hair
as; golden as the sun; their hair flew in the wind, shining and wild, as if it defied men to restrain it.
(39). It is ironic when Equality says that

  • 2. Blame On Your Body, By Maria Menchu L Bravo SHAME ON YOUR FAT BODY by Maria Menchu L. Bravo Did anyone of you thought how words greatly affect a person s life? Words that we thought are just words, no harm can come from just saying whatever you want. Have anyone of you heard the phrases like her body is flat , I m so sorry for her because she s so fat , You need to lose weight and many more. It appears that not only is it heard but read as well in magazines, newspapers and social media constantly advocating How to lose weight in days and how to appear slimmer and hide the cellulites in your body . This is just some of the multiple examples on how body shaming happens in our society. Comedy shows use big bodied women and men as the basis of many jokes. I am saddened that body shaming... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Firstly we must understand that people have different body types and shapes, we are not created differently in order for others to categorize us into something. We must stand up to those who keeps on pinning us down, don t let anyone stop you from doing what you want. In 2012, Jennifer Livingston, a local news anchor in Wisconsin, received a fat shaming email from a viewer. She then said that there are children who don t know better. Who get emails as critical as the one I received, or in many cases, even worse, each and every day. She said in her last statement that is dedicated to everyone. Those who are lost and struggling with their weight, color of the skin, sexual preference, disabilities and even the acnes on their faces that they should not let bullies define their self worth. Stand up if you know you are right and didn t do anything wrong. In order to completely stop body shaming everyone or the people in the society must motivate, support and encourage one another. Just like what happened to Sean Dancing Man O Brien, he was bullied in social media for dancing in public. Those who are in prison have federal and state laws that say that the prisons must provide them with medical facilities for their healthcare needs. This paper will identify a governmental agency that regulates the healthcare that is provided to prisoners in an institution within the United States, along with the foundation of such an agency and who regulates the licenses, accreditation, certifications, and authorization for employment for those who work within one of these facilities. The Federal Bureau of Prisons The Federal Bureau of Prisons (BOP) is an agency that was created on May 14, 1930 and approved of by then president Herbert Hoover. Its main headquarters is in Washington, D.C. The BOP is a subdivision of the United States Justice Department and is responsible for the administration of the federal prison system. Its sole purpose is to provide more open minded and compassionate care to those who are federal inmates within the United States prison system. This agency is also responsible for providing medically needed health care to inmates in agreement with federal and state laws. One of the most negative aspects that the BOP is responsible for is carrying out all judicially mandated federal executions, including the lethal injection of inmates who have been sentenced to death for a crime they have ... Many companies are moving their services to this technology with the flexibility of pay as you go model where a customer pays only for the services used leading to cost saving for them. It also helps in terminating the need for large infrastructure maintenance and development. Multiple Virtual Machines (VMs) having varying resource locations can be operated together by a physical machine through utilization of hardware virtualization by Clouds [1]. Moreover, A long term load balance is not maintained since it only gets load balance at the expected time spot. Additionally, it also requires a Markov Chain Model and calculation of transition probability matrix for each VM in the system that leads to the elimination of overhead in a system with more VMs [1]. To avoid the SLA violation, there is a need for an algorithm that can help in migration of VMs out of PMs prior to getting overloaded and providing a load balance state for a long time. It should also reduce the overhead and delay caused during balancing. For meeting these requirements, a proactive load balancing algorithm Markov Decision Process (MDP) was proposed [1]. There are two challenges associated with this Process. The components of MDP are states (s), actions (a), transition probabilities (P), and rewards (R). These components should be well designed for low overhead. There is a probability of transition to send when the action is taken by the state and then it the reward is received. MDP records the transitions of the load state of a PM when each VM is moving out and it is considered as an action that creates an unwanted cost and is inaccurate because of varying time of VM load [1]. MDP records the transitions amongst the PM load states by utilizing them as a state and taking out VM in a ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The medieval landscape, as viewed through the eyes of scholars, was hardly populated by women. Particularly, young unmarried women or maidens have been paid little attention . The alkyl halides will be examined based on the substrate types and solvent the reaction takes place in. Procedure: For the first part of this experiment, six dry test tubes were obtained and labeled accordingly to test the following halides: 2 chlorobutane, 2 bromobutane, 1 chlorobutane, 1 bromobutane, 2 chloro 2 methylpropane, and bromobenzene. To each of the six test tubes 2ml of 15% sodium iodide in acetone was added. 4 drops of the appropriate halide was added to the test tube labeled for that specific halide. After adding the halide, the test tube was then shaken to mix thoroughly. If a precipitate formed the time it took was recorded. Since none of the solutions formed a precipitate at room temperature after five minutes, the test tubes were placed inside of a hot bath at about 50В°C. After one minute, the test tubes were taken out of the hot bath and allowed to cool. If any test tubes formed a precipitate, the time it took was recorded on a table. The Financial Accounting Standards Board Essay On February 26, 2016, the Financial Accounting Standards Board (FASB) issued an Accounting Standards Update (ASU) which revised the standards on leasing. The intent for this revision was to improve how leases are being reported on the financial statements. The consensus is that the classification tests in current use for making this determination fail to provide a faithful and accurate representation for leasing transactions in general. In 2005, the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission had also made recommendations which indicated this need for change in regard to how leases were being reported. Overall, it is believed that this change would ensure greater transparency in the financial statements concerning these type transactions. As commonplace as leasearrangements are, accounting for leases are not quite so clear cut. One of the hotly debated topics for leasing standards that is currently being discussed is how off balance sheet financing presents an erroneous and misleading view of a company s true financial position. This problem began when companies would plan ways to circumvent the rules currently under U.S. GAAP in attempts to classify leases as operating leases when in actuality they were capital leases. The Tennessee Titians Game Event Description: I attended the San Diego Charges vs. the Tennessee Titians game on November 6, 2016 at 1:15 p.m. We entered the stadium about 9:45 a.m. to setup for our tailgate party. We found a huge crowd entering the stadium, in fact, the crowd was much more than we anticipated and expected. All of my family had on some type of apparel representing one of the participating teams. We attended this particular game in celebration of my younger brother s birthday, which was on November 8. In appreciation of my brother, I wore his favorite team s t shirt for the Tennessee Titians. The game was enjoyable and I found supporters for both of the team tailgating. His one of the best creation Richard II is a historical play rather being a tragedy. The history play is usually distinguished especially by its political purposes from other kinds of plays.shakespeare emphasized the political issue mainly in this play. To completely eliminate alcohol from society was always going to be an impossible task due to the limited amounts of prohibition officers and the easy manner in which illegal alcohol could be made and old, so in that aspect of its ambition it failed. However it was able to reduce alcoholism, and as a result of prohibition fewer arrests for drunkenness were recorded. With those thoughts in mind, it is important to remember that whist some positives came from Prohibition, the negatives that came from the policy were far greater and more significant, so therefore it becomes nigh on impossible to call it a success. The government and federal enforcement also experienced moderate success in the attempt to uphold the laws of prohibition, with agents such as Izzy Einstein and Moe Smith making over 4000 arrests and seizing over 15m dollars worth of illegal liquor. With the only access to alcohol being through gangster organisations and speakeasies, many people turned to soft drinks as a new social drink. Consequently this lead to a boom in the soft drink industry with companies In an alternative aspect, there were several reasons as to why the success of Prohibition was limited. Firstly, there were huge logistical problems to the policy, with America having 18,700 miles of coastline and land border. This meant that bootlegging became a big issue with 215m dollars worth of alcohol being transported across the land border between Detroit and Canada, and thus ultimately the supply of alcohol coming into the country was never restricted and so the American public still had access to a plentiful supply of alcohol. The fact that before prohibition Washington DC had 300 bars, but by the mid 1920s it had over 700 speakeasies, substantiates the point that alcohol supply actually increased during prohibition. • 31. Adam Smith s The Wealth Of Nations Adam Smith s The Wealth of Nations in 1776 is usually considered to mark the beginning of classical economics (Smith, 1776). He was the first to articulate that international trade was not a zero sum game and it was counterproductive to have a single minded reliance on exports. He proposed the theory that a country should specialize in manufacturing goods that it can make with the fewest resources, therefore giving it an advantage in the production of that good. This allows for global out to be maximized, thereby with free trade each country would end up with a greater number of goods than before. His notion was that wealth of nation is determined by its labor and not by the amount of gold. In addition, he stated that when two nations participate in free trade there is an increase in total wealth as both nations see a profit in exchange. Widely known as the father of modern economics , Adam Smith contributed a significant amount of knowledge regarding the political economy. It emphasized that markets operate best without the interference of the government. Classical economists observed that markets regulate themselves when free of coercion. He referred to the markets self regulating nature, when buyers are able to choose between various suppliers and companies who do not successfully compete are allowed to fail, as a metaphorical invisible hand , which moves markets towards natural equilibrium. The reality is that this spoof ad is accurate. Studies over the past 30 to 50 years show that fast food and junk food is extremely unhealthy and causes obesity, heart disease, high blood pressure, diabetes, and several other diseases. Most fast food restaurants serve high calorie and low density foods. That means one gets a lot of calories and very little nutritional value from the food. Obesity rates have steadily climbed over the past 60 years as have the number of fast food restaurants. The prevalence of obesity and obesity related diseases has increased rapidly in the U.S. since the mid 1970s. At the same time, the number of fast food restaurants more than doubled over the same time period, while the number of other restaurants grew at a much slower pace. (Currie Vigna Moretti Pathania 1) Stating the fact that when one eats substantial amounts of fast food, the health of that person will drastically decrease is definitely true. Clearly, it is not hard to notice that a multitude of people seen on a daily basis are either overweight or obese. However not only that, the topic evokes questions about the outcome of our nation s economy, if all illegal immigrants were to be removed. In the 2016 Presidential election, both candidates had distinct outlooks on immigrationreform. However, there are some immigrants that migrate to the U.S. that are disruptive and dangerous. So, I believe the most effective way to address the issue of immigration would be that of which would not cause any riot or separation within the people of the United States or any disruption with any of the other countries. One solution which would be very critical, would be enforcing immigration laws humanely. Another solution that would be helpful would be that a guest worker friendly program be created and enforced. Along with the program, I believe that the U.S. should enhance border security, but not to the extent of building a wall along the border. In conclusion, immigration has always been a hot topic in the United States, and we all have different outlooks on the immigration issues. • 47. Theme Of Feminism In Anthem, By Ayn Rand Anthem is Against Feminism In the novel Anthem, by Ayn Rand, the theme of female inferiority is shown throughout the novel. Rand has been known to portray women as obedient and submissive to men in most of her novels. In Anthem Rand shows how women are inferior to men by; showing that a woman s highest priority is to follow a man, that men can eliminate and redetermine a woman s identity, and that women are only there to fit the needs of a man. In the novel, Liberty begs to never be left behind while they are in the Uncharted Forest because she cannot live without him. Rand s view on the responsibility of women in a society is that women are a minority in the government. Rand shows the lack of importance of females in government because, there were five members of the Council, three of the male gender and two of the female (25 26). She shows that the opinions of women do not have as much value as the opinion of a male. The inequality in government represents the imbalance in opportunities and rights for women and the majority vote favoring the men takes away the voice of the women in government. After Liberty and Equality run away to the Uncharted Forest, Liberty shows her allegiance to Equality when she tells him: we have followed you... and we shall follow you wherever you go. ... Do as you please with us but do not send us away from you (82 83). Liberty promises her obedience that she will die with him if she needs to. Rand creates the picture of a woman to sit at the feet of men and support their every need. Equality renames Liberty two times; this is Rand s way of demonstrating man s dominance over women. Someone s name is their identity, so him changing her name to what he sees best is changing her into what he wants her to be. The first time he names her the Golden One (41), and then again when they are in the forest, Gaea... the mother of a new kind of gods (99). Equality shows that he has complete control over her and whatever he wants her name to be is what she goes along with. When Equality sees Liberty for the first time he describes her hair as; golden as the sun; their hair flew in the wind, shining and wild, as if it defied men to restrain it. (39). It is ironic when Equality says that ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
