Essays On King Lear
Crafting an essay on "Essays on King Lear" poses a formidable challenge that demands a
multifaceted approach. King Lear, a complex Shakespearean tragedy, delves into profound
themes such as power, madness, familial relationships, and the nature of human suffering.
Tackling a subject as intricate as this requires a comprehensive understanding of the play, its
historical context, and the critical discourse surrounding it.
The difficulty intensifies as one endeavors to navigate the labyrinthine layers of King Lear's
characters, each with their own motivations, complexities, and moral dilemmas. Analyzing the
intricacies of Lear's tragic journey, the manipulation by his daughters, and the interplay of
secondary characters demands meticulous attention to detail and a nuanced interpretation.
Furthermore, a successful essay on this topic must seamlessly blend literary analysis with
historical and cultural context, demonstrating a profound awareness of the Elizabethan era's
societal norms and Shakespearean conventions. The intertextuality with other works and the
evolution of critical interpretations over time add additional layers of complexity.
Attempting to encapsulate the essence of King Lear in an essay requires not only a mastery of
language but also an ability to synthesize diverse perspectives, acknowledging the myriad ways
scholars have grappled with the play over centuries. Engaging with varying interpretations while
maintaining a cohesive argument is a formidable task that demands intellectual agility and a keen
analytical eye.
In conclusion, composing an essay on "Essays on King Lear" is no mere intellectual exercise; it is
a literary odyssey that demands intellectual rigor, interpretive finesse, and a profound
appreciation for the complexities of Shakespearean drama. For those seeking assistance in
navigating this intricate terrain, a wealth of resources, including similar essays and more, can be

Who Was Responsible For The Sinking Of The Titanic
The Titanic tragedy was not a very happy event, but I am here to share my opinion
on the causes of the sinking of it.
After examining all of the evidence, I have concluded that Captain Smith was the
most significant cause in the sinking of the Titanic at 80 percent. I believe he was
the main cause because he cancelled the lifeboat drills, and his crew decided to not
turn out of the way of the iceberg. Also, only environmental factors matter if they
hadn t crashed into the iceberg.
Many other things aside from Captain Smith also helped in the demise of the Titanic
on April 15, 1912. The pie graph indicates that Design Construction and
Environmental Factors had the least effect on the Titanic s sinking.

Hand Hygiene Improvement
This report and the evaluates based on healthcare design and the importance of hand
hygiene to prevent from infections and infection control in the hospitals.
I extracted the study characteristics using the Checklist, including study objectives,
setting, study design, target population, outcome measures, description of the
intervention, analysis, and results.
The most frequently addressed determinants were knowledge, awareness, action
control, and facilitation of behavior. Fewer studies showing social influence, attitude,
self efficacy, and intention. Thirteen studies used a controlled design to measure the
effects of hand hygiene improvement strategies on hand hygiene behavior.

Healthcare related with infections account for almost 80,000 deaths per year in the
United States. Significantly the healthcare department supports hand hygiene
decreases the transmission of healthcare associated pathogens and the incidence of
healthcare associated infections. These days hand hygiene and improvements in
healthcare associated infections is inflexible to verify in health care. World health
organization (WHO) highly suggested that we need to practice hand hygiene. This
will reduce infection in the health care facility. Compliance with hand hygiene
practices among health care workers has generally very short. The main objective of
these quality assurance programme is to prevent infection and awareness of the
importance of hand hygiene in health care. Hand hygiene is a unlike the way of
thinking about safety and patient care and includes everyone in the hospital together
with patients and health care providers. Effective hand hygiene practices in hospitals
play a key role in improving patient and provider safety and in preventing the spread
of health care associated infections.
Hand hygiene is a common term by removing microorganisms with a disinfecting
agent such as alcohol or soap and water. Although we can not see germs with the
naked eye and many can stay alive for hours on surfaces and be picked up on our
hands. If we touch our nose, eyes, mouth or anything that goes in your mouth and the
germs can get inside our body and make sick. Hands are the main ways of
transmission of germs throughout healthcare. Hand hygiene is the most important
way to avoid the transmission of harmful
Aristotelian Virtues
I do not believe that the table of Aristotelian virtues works for all the human virtues
. According to Aristotle, behaving in the right manner is the mean between
extremes of deficiency and excess. Excess is having too much of something, while
deficiency is having too little of something. Sometimes, in real life situations it is
difficult to figure out the means between excess and deficiency. You can use fear
and confidence as an example. The mean is courage, while the excess is rashness
and the deficiency is cowardice. A soldier for example does not want to be a
coward. You want to be courageous, but it is hard to identify how many bullets
needs to fly past someone s head before they can go back to safety? Virtues are also
dependent on many things, such... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The mean is truthfulness and the vices are boastfulness and understatement/mock
modesty. In a job interview, we are supposed to make our interviewer think we are
the best person for the job. Maybe we do not think we would be the best fit for the
job, but financially we need it. We are not being truthful when we say that we
would be the best candidate for the job. Also, we are taught that during an
interview, we need to be boastful. We need to make it show them we are skilled,
experienced, and competent. Yes, you do not want to be overly boastful, but in this
situation being boastful will benefit you more than if you were truthful. The final
example why the table of Aristotle s virtues does not work for all human virtues, is
because Aristotle lists ambition/empty vanity as a vice. For someone who is
extremely religious, you can never worship God too much. In this case, the vice
would be the virtue. As you can see, there are many reason why the table of
Aristotelian virtues does not work for all the human virtues. Sometimes, vices can be
virtues. When you are figuring out the means, you have to consider someone s
religion, culture, or
Teaching
Thus suggesting practitioners should embrace and accept the approach enabling
them to adopt learning strategies that embed the acquisition of knowledge and
skills into meaningful context (Macleod Brudenell and Kay, 2008, p.311). Moss
and Petrie (2002) support this concept by stating pedagogy can be used to refer to
whole domain of social responsibility for children, for their well being, learning and
competence (p.138). Pugh and Duffy (2006) suggest a pedagogue is the one who
leads and educates children s learning. This effectively impacts upon children s
learning and enables them to become confident learners. As well as encouraging
children to be in control of their own interests and learning (Every child matters,
2004). Allen and... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It could be argued that even though all three curriculums support the concept that
the role of adults is extremely important within Early Year s they each take
different views. The EYFS tends to be a combination of the two as they maintain
the need for children to be able to participate in child initiated activities as well as
adult led activities (Allen and Whalley, 2010). Additionally, Kinney and Wharton
(2007) indicate Reggio Emilia places a huge emphasis on working as co
constructors, whereas High Scope places more of an emphasis on the children
choosing their play for themselves. A main similarity of High Scope and EYFS is
that both place an importance on child centred, adult led learning. Similarly both
EYFS and High Scope have specific areas for learning, for example; Role play.
This can effectively promote good practice as it is including all types of learners
and ensuring all children have the same opportunities. Curtis and O Hagan (2009)
assert that High Scope supports Reggio Emilia s philosophy and the EYFS and
clarifies the role of the adult as practitioners who enhance and support children s
learning. As well as individuals who can build positive interactions between
themselves and the children to be able to successfully interact with each other. This
Percy Jackson Diversity
The Cultural Diversity portrayed in the Percy Jackson series Introduction Rick
Riordan has written two complete series based on Percy Jackson. The first series
Percy Jackson and the Olympians was the first series where Percy played the main
hero and then he wrote a second series Heroes of Olympus where he is one of the
seven heroes that the story revolves around. The first series has five books named
Percy Jackson and The Lightening Thief , Percy Jackson and The Sea of Monsters ,
Percy Jackson and the Titan s Curse , Percy Jackson and the Battle of Labyrinth and
Percy Jackson and the Last Olympian respectively. This series did not see as much

The books show such great racial/cultural diversity that hasn t been emphasized in
popular novels. The Heroes of Olympus series shows diversity through the main
characters.Nico de Angelo, who was a minor character in the last series, plays a
very important role in this one which deems him a main character. The heroes
cultures do connect to the main story and also is the answer that helps them in
many places. Rick Riordan could have not included diversity in his novels since all
demigods are the children of the Greek/Roman Gods, but he didn t. The novel is set
in the modern era which is very culturally diverse and the characters are reflective of
Rape and Sexual Assault
Rape and Sexual Assault Rape is a type of sexual assault usually involving sexual
intercourse, which is initiated by one or more persons against another person
without that person s consent. The act maybe carried out by force, under threat, or
with a person who is incapable with valid consent. The definition of rape varies
both in different parts of the world and at different times in history. According to the
American Medical Association, sexual violence, and rape in particular, is
considered the most under reported violent crime. When part of a widespread and
systematic practice, rape and sexual slavery are recognized as crimes against
humanity and war crimes. The rate of reporting, prosecution and convictions for rape

Some societies consider incest to include only those who live in the same
household, or who belong to the same clan or lineage; other societies consider it to
include blood relatives ; other societies further include those related by adoption or
marriage. Incest between adults and those under the age of majority or age of
consent is considered a form of child sexual abuse that has been shown to be one of
the most extreme forms of childhood abuse, often resulting in serious and long term
psychological trauma, especially in the case of parental incest. Prevalence is difficult
to generalize, but research has estimated 10 15% of the general population as having
at least one such sexual contact, with less than 2% involving intercourse or attempted
intercourse. Among women, research has yielded estimates as high as twenty
percent. Father daughter incest was for many years the most commonly reported and
studied form of incest. More recently, studies have suggested that sibling incest,
particularly older brothers abusing younger siblings, is the most common form of
incest, with some studies finding sibling incest occurring orders of magnitude[not in
citation given more frequently than other forms of incest. Some studies suggest that
adolescent perpetrators of sibling abuse choose younger victims, abuse victims over a
lengthier period, use violence more frequently and
The World s Most Lastest Technology
The purpose of technology is simple; to extend the capabilities of the party that is
using a product. From the discovery of fire to the continued advancement of the
world s most lastest technology, one thing has been a constant trend, the push for
improvement and advancement. These trends of improvement are set by a few
varying factors. Factors range from the natural curriousty that humans have to the
fear of death. Every piece of technoglgy has purpose for its existance, though the
reasons may varry. Though there is one push that seems to be drived from on
constant event; death. The cornerstone of of human inovention, drive and thinking
is the fear of death. In everyday life of 2015 the internet is engrained into almost
every fasit of daily life around the world. The internet provides people with the
ability to obtain information almost instantly on just about anything. Information is
free flowing on the intertnet. Once it is placed in a server is can be rerieved from
another location from almost anywhere in the world that is connected to the
internet. While it may seem to be a simple part of modern life, this was not always
the case. The Internet is a rather new technogy of created in the 20th century. The
Internet is the byproduct of the Advanced Reasearch Project Agency Network
(ARPANET). If you were to look though history textbooks it would be a painstaking
experence to look for anything on the ARPANET. Very few people when asked about

Hmong Vs. Hmong Languages
Belonging to one of the largest ethnic groups in Asia, the Hmong language has an
ample number of speakers, however the distance between the communities has
prevented the widespread use of the language and has also created several distinct
dialects. In order to prevent this language from unnecessarily going extinct, moving
forward with preventative preservation measures, specifically in regards to education,
is imperative. Such measures may include immersion schools, computer programs,
and bilingual education.
Background and History
Hmong is a minority language of the ‎Hmong Mien‎ language family and it is
spoken by approximately three million people. It has no official status in the
countries in which it is spoken, which include China, Vietnam, Lao, Burma, Thailand,
France, and the United States. The language consists of a number of dialects due to
the widespread speaker base, many of which are immensely distinct from one another
and thus could be considered separate languages.
The two major dialects of Hmong are White Hmong [Hmong Daw] and Green
Hmong [Hmong Njua]. Green Hmong [Hmong Njua] is spoken primarily in
southwestern China, Northern Vietnam, and Laos, while White Hmong [Hmong
Daw] is spoken in countries to which people of the Hmong language immigrated such
as France and the United States (Hmong Language).

China s National Interests Essay
China Essay
Evaluate the extent to which a specific Asia pacific state has been successful in
achieving its national interests.
China is firmly positioned as a superpower in both the Asia Pacific region, and the
global political arena. Some issues, however, have prevented China from fulfilling its
national interests including territorial integrity, economic prosperity, a harmonious
society, and a peaceful rise to power.
Territorial Integrity:
The PRC s desire for territorial integrity means that China must remain whole at all
costs. As a state with a population of over 1.3 billion, China will undoubtedly
encounter social problems particularly when 100 million of its population are not
ethnic Chinese . The state s One China ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Moreover, China s support of authoritarian regimes around the world in terms of
trade and oil exchange may result in the spread of totalitarianism around the world
as an effective trade. This sets a bad precedent for future international trade. China
is still firmly placed to overtake the world s largest economy, the US, by the end of
decade. This would be a shift in the hegemonic influence over economic affairs not
just in the region, but in a global context. When the Chinese economy sneezes, the
rest of world s economies get pneumonia. A loss in the percentage of growth in the
Chinese economy reverberates through the rest of the Asia Pacific region s economies.
Harmonious Society
One of China s main goals is to achieve and maintain a harmonious socialist society
by 2020. This is an ambition not easily obtained. Public outrage and lessening
opinions of the government are growing in China reflected by the increasing number
of public disturbances and riots. The police and military are quick to respond
highlighting China s poor human rights record. Pollution too is a major problem in
China with 16 out of the world s 20 most polluted cities being China. Over 700,000
deaths are attributed annually to pollution. Although China is moving towards better
environmental sustainability, two thirds of its energy comes from coal sources
currently and every dollar of GDP uses three times more energy than the global
average.
Sexual Content As A Man Or A Woman
Introduction Critics decry the perverseness of television. They claim that the
abundance of sexual content is poisoning their minds. Unfortunately, when it comes
to backing up these claims, they are hard pressed to actually find evidence to back
this up. Sexual content will be searched within the parameters of sitcoms. This paper
will be specifically focusing on sexual content when it is portrayed in a comedy.
Comedies are unique from dramas because they portray things in a funny light.
They can still deal with serious topics, but they go about things in a different
manner. Topics are played for a comedic effect, and when they revolve around
things that are sexual in nature, people are worried that they are encouraging that
specifically. The research will be exploring whether the subject of these sexual jokes
are a man or a woman. There are comedic sexual references to both males and
females being made by both males and females.
Research
Sexual content on television needs to have a definition. It cannot merely be defined
according to one s own comfort and thinking in regards to sex. Kunkel, Eyal, and
Finnerty (2005) describe sexual content as any depiction of sexual activity, sexually
suggestive behaviour, or talk about sexuality or sexual activity . This is a common
definition that is held to by many people, but some view sex as having more to do
with culture. Buckingham, Willett, Bragg and Russell (2010) argue that sex might
have more to do with cultural values and
Ageing
4. Discuss the physical and psychological changes associated with normal ageing.
How can one minimise pathological ageing?
The process of aging has been around as long as life itself. All living organisms pass
through three broad stages from conception to death, which are maturation, maturity
and aging. Aging affects everyone because nearly everyone has the potential to grow
old and all the societies in which we live have older members (Macdonald, 1997).
Gerontology is the use of reason to understand aging. The term was used to refer to
the scientific study of aging, but nowadays it includes the study of aging using views
from other disciplines such as humanities, social policy and human services. To
correctly understand aging, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In order to counter act this one must maintain regular and also suitable exercise. One
must take into consideration the exercise tolerance in relation to his/her current age.
Change to healthier lifestyle by quitting smoking as this can have a direct relationship
and can worsen the breathlessness. It is important to not mix mild shortness of breath
that does not affect normal daily activities with shortness of breath at low exercise
level and wheezing as these may be symptoms of chronic bronchitis, asthma or heart
failure.
Digestive System
A common change related to normal aging is changes that affect the digestive system.
The most common one observed in old age is constipation (Macdonald, 1997). In
order to minimise constipation it is essential or eat a fibre rich diet with more
vegetables and fruit. Also maintaining regular exercise can also reduce the chance of
developing constipation. Stools with blood or mucus are not part of normal ageing.
Urination
In normal ageing changes in urination also occurs. It is seen that there is more
frequent urination at night (Matteson et al., 1998). In order to minimise this
pathological aspect of normal ageing, it is suggested to avoid fluid intake one hour
before sleeping. It is important to distinguish between difficulty or pain while
passing urine as this may be due to urinary tract infections and for men as well as
Cocaine Addiction Research
Low income, crack cocaine addicted African American mothers face many challenges
as they seek addiction treatment. Limited research suggests that women who seek
addiction treatment can potentially lose custody of their children to Child Protective
Services Intervention. Ironically however, women in need of treatment for any other
illness face no such threat of losing their children. Unfortunately, women with
substance use histories often encounter criminal penalties or the lost of their children
to Child Protective Services. Consequently, many of these women are afraid to seek
treatment. Due to the social injustices faced by women with substance addictions,
elected officials and policymakers should consider enacting legislation that provide...

Analyzing the Truman Show Essay
Analyzing the Truman Show
One physical feature of Seahaven that reeks of a movie set, is the disorder or
absence of, that typical life indubitably suffers from. Everything from the dog to the
cars, the window cleaner to the mother pushing the pram is set by the director
Christoff on a preset course round and round their particular area or doing the same
job over and over again. This prevents any chaos from erupting and wipes out the
need for policemen, which we obviously didn t see any in the Truman Show. Their
itinerary is the same everyday and it is bound to be conspicious, however it is not
until the end of the movie that Truman enlightens upon this fact. Another apparent

In no matter what country from every New Yorkian city to a small outback
community, rubbish on the ground always outnumber 10 times the size of the

heaven. No one lives in poverty and the neighbourhood is clean and quiet. As a
matter of fact, Christoff is projecting into Truman s mind a vision of a dreamworld
that is Seahaven. While commenting heavily on the outside world s disasters and
violence, no bad aspect of the real world is allowed to leak in and contaminate his
master plan.
Note the scenes in which we are made aware of the relationship between Truman and
his audience. How do these scenes reveal what is really going on?
A number of dedicated viewers of the Truman Show are introduced to us. They are
the people of the real world looking into the intimate life of a real person un
knowingly living in a make believe movieset, the size of a small city. There is a
obese man who lives in his bathtub and who also lives to watch the Truman Show.
This also applies to two old couch potato ladies, one of them whose obvious
favourite possesion is a cushion with Truman s face stitched on. The appeal of the
Truman Show is worldwide and apparently very riveting as demostrated by scenes of
an oriental family quite enjoying the show. Some moments could be
Jealousy And Vengeance In William Shakespeare s Othello
In William Shakespeare s, Othello, the play introduces a falsely perceived character
by the name of Iago. After Othello s unjust decision of not promoting Iago as
lieutenant, Iago generated an immense amount of hatred for Othello, leading to Iago
s atrocious revenge on Othello. Although Iago took his revenge to extreme measures,
he was simply getting vengeance on Othellofor swindling him out of his promotion,
therefore Iagos revenge occurred as a direct result of Othello s decision. Iago s hatred
of Othello doesn t only come from Othello s decision, but also jealousy. Iago

Adversity Horace Quote Analysis
Hardships portray and elicit abilities that, in times of prosperity, might not have
been performable. Hardships include relationship, friendship, mental, and physical
challenges that cause stress. In these types of situations, one would be forced to
think of a situation and act upon it in order to move on and prosper. The quote
Adversity has the effect of eliciting talents which in prosperous circumstances
would have lain dormant. Horace, is one I agree with. Adversity causes one to think
differently, it builds character and is able to expose who you really are. For

The endocrine disorders among females are of various types but the most common
one is the polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) which is basically an inherited
disorder and can be received from either parent. The chances of occurrence of this
disorder vary from 5 10% among the females of age group of 12 45 resulting in
female sub fertility. This endocrine disorder can be identified by anovulation which is
diagnosed by irregular menstruation, amenorrhea, polycystic ovaries, ovulation
related infertility, excessive secretion of androgenic hormones that cause hirsutism
and acne. High cholesterol level, type 2 diabetes, insulin resistance are other known
symptoms. All these symptoms vary among different individuals. The disorder is
known by a number of other names like polycystic ovary disease, functional ovarian
hyperandrogenism, ovarian hyperthecosis and Stein Leventhal syndrome. A
polycystic ovary has abnormal number of eggs that can be viewed near its surface
resembling cysts.
Polycystic ovary syndrome is generally described by two

Similarities Between A Raisin In The Sun And The
American...
The American Dream is not uniquely American, it is a dream held by people all
around the world. It is a dream about success, a word that has different meanings for
many people. The play, A Raisin in the Sun by Lorraine Hansberry explores the
American dream and race through the lense of a poor black family that receives a ten
thousand dollar life insurance check after the death of the patriarch of the family.
Walter Lee Younger, the adult male in the house wants to invent it in a liquor store
while Walter s mother believes that decision would be unchristian. Another view of
the American dream in presented in the Great Gatsbyby F. Scott Fitzgerald, a 1920 s
American novel in which a wealthy man, Gatsby, attempts to woo his former lover,
Daisy Buchanan. I define the American dream as earning the respect and
admiration of one s peers. Using my definition of the American dream, Walter is
successful because he earns the respect of his family by refusing money to keep his
dignity, whereas Gatsby does not achieve the dream because of the place and time in
which he must climb the social ladder.
Walter Lee Younger earns the respect of his family by showing personal growth by
refusing to trade his dignity for a check. After Walter loses sixty five hundred
dollars in a risky business venture, he attempts to make some it back by accepting
money from the leader of a white neighborhood in exchange for not moving into
the neighborhood. Everyone except for Walter is opposed to the idea of taking the
mony. After spending a while trying to convince his family accepting the check is
the right decision, Walter lashes out and tells everyone what his motives are by
saying, Hell, yes, I want me some yachts someday! Yes, I want to hang some real

The Fifth Discipline By Peter Senge
1.What are the main themes of The Fifth Discipline? Describe and explain each
discipline.
The writer of the book The Fifth Discipline Peter Senge distinguishes five principle
topics in his book to recognize taking in associations from customary associations.
The five subjects are:
Systems considering: It is the theoretical structure for the book. Framework
considering joins the other four guideline of individual authority, mental models,
building shared vision and group learning. It means to take a gander at the master
plan and to not look for basic arrangements that will tackle today s issue yet which
make a greater issue later on (Cropper, 2012).
Personal authority: An association creates when each person in the association ...

2.How are each of these disciplines related to each other?
When all the five orders are consolidated and honed in an association then that
association changes itself from a conventional association to a learning association. A
framework thinking approach concentrates on enhancing the mentality of people to
concentrate on accomplishing long haul objectives which are essentials to the
association than to actualize short term objectives which acquire impermanent
benefits. This general advancement in frameworks considering an individual is built
up when the association concentrates on the other four orders (Cropper, 2012).
At the point when an individual spotlights on enhancing himself, he achieves a level
of individual dominance, in this procedure he changes his disposition to take in new
things and create from inside his internal viewpoints. At the point when internal
improvement is accomplished through individual dominance, he wipes out the lack of
awareness and enhances his mental models. Mental models are the path in which an
singular takes a gander at things around him, when he experts himself, he picks up

Ice Life Fighting in the National Hockey League(NHL) has been an ongoing brutal
way of getting fans excited. The past years the number of fights have dropped, with
only 344 fights last season, the fewest number within the past 15 years (Adam
Vingan). For those people who oppose fighting this comes as good news, as this area
of the Hockey has been investigated heavily. In 1922, rule 56 was introduced into the
National Hockey League which was supposed to regulate the fighting in the NHL
and was called the official NHL rulebook(Wikipedia). Still today we have fighting
in the National Hockey league even with rule 56 strictly enforced. It s not just the
fighting that s the problem anymore, it s the concussions and other side effects
/injuries from it. Players are suffering far greater head trauma each time they get in
a fight which further on in life leads to multiple health problems. If fighting were
to be banned in the NHL, would it still be the same? Some may say yes, but others
speculate no. For now, fans don t see any changes coming soon so why not enjoy it
better yet play it. Though pro hockey is a sport known for its violence, it is a great
career for the players that can make it into the pros. It is a great career because it
provides a great income, the athletes thrive on the physicality of the sport, and it is
growing in popularity worldwide. In 1917 the NHL was formed with only 5 teams

Oxidative Stress Essay
During physical activity, the body undergoes many changes in the muscles, lungs,
heart, and bones. The heart rate increases as the activity level increases, this happens
to supply more oxygenated blood to the muscles. When there is an increase in
training it decreases the resting heart rate, and the bloodpressure decreases due to
blood vessel formation (Larson et al. 2012). An individual who may use this to
supplement their physical activity would be someone most likely trying to avoid
disease. For instance, in stage 1 hypertension, unhealthy, or has an obese gene.
Sustained high blood pressure can result in hypertension which is a precursor to the
development of cardiac and/or renal hypertrophy (Duarte et al. 2001). Seen in prior
animal studies and in Edwards et al. (2007) the patient must be at a specific range
(over 120/80 mm Hg) in order for quercetin supplementation to show effects.
Also in Askari et al. (2012), they found that Vitamin C was needed for quercetin
supplementation to decrease oxidative stress. When one exercises excessively there
is an increase in oxygen consumption which can lead to oxidative stress ... Show more

The change in blood pressure can be rapid in these activities, and the heart is required
to pump faster causing strain on the blood vessels. The main reason as to why they
would take quercetin supplements is possibly they have a family history of
hypertension and want to take all preventive measures that are available. I
recommend that if the individual has talked to a physician and taking quercetin has
no adverse effects on their health, then it would be of no harm to test it out for 3
months and see if there is any difference. I, however, would not recommend this for a
healthy individual to reduce blood pressure since no studies have confirmed

speech in front of the media at the White House. Shepard uses the speech to respond
to his opponent, Sen. Bob Rumson, for Rumson s attacks on the character of Shepard

of legislation. President Shepard uses the Classical Oration argument in his speech,
including several elements, including examples, persuasion and rhetorical questions.

Rumson s character, and refutes his own assumptions. He says that he s know Sen.
Rumson for years and thought that he didn t understand the problems; but instead,
he just couldn t sell it (Sorkin). By doing this, although he doesn t say it, he s
admitting that he hadn t tried to sell the public on his ideas enough, that he had let
Sen. Rumson take center stage with his personal attacks, instead of discussing
issues important to the public. He does more refutation when he builds up how

wrongful conviction of Guy Paul Morin. Christine Jessop went missing on October

Examples Of Brainwashing In Brave New World
Brainwashing in Brave New World Throughout Aldous Huxley s dystopian novel,
Brave New World, the reader is thrust to the forefront of a society merely based on
consumerism, class loyalty, and conventional principles. The motif of brainwashing
is used in an effort to abolish individualism throughout Huxley s novel. He does so
by eloquently mirroring the beliefs of the totalitarian governments of the past by
establishing a government that brainwashes its own citizens to conform to their
beliefs. The World State uses hypnopedia as a tool to accomplish this goal of
conformity. They teach young children, their principles to reduce the probability of
an uprising against the tyrannical power. Conditioning, conformity, and propaganda
are the instruments put in use by the world controllers to instill desired
characteristics into the populace of London, England from their hatching to their
death. Hypnopedia is used to instill consumerism, class loyalty, and conventionality
to keep society stable. Hypnopedia can be defined as, instruction of a sleeping
person especially by means of recorded lessons (Merriam). This technique is used in
an effort to teach citizens moral and ethical lessons, but in turn divides each class
based on their artificial development. Each member is groomed through this method
of sleep teaching to act and think in similar ways as their fellow class members. For
example, the Directors machine uttered, Alpha children wear grey. They work much

I was born in China, where their justice system is different comparing to the United
States. In fact, my father was a former County Court president in one of the county in
China. He gave me an idea of how the system runs in China. There are many
differences between two countries, and the most ones that stand out to me were the
amount of judges, the levels of court, right to convict crime and given punishment,
and the law system. First of all, as I mention previously, I found out that there is
only one judge in the Superior Court, and nine judges in the Supreme Court. In
China, there are three judges who manage the flow of the case. Secondly, there are
three levels of courts in the United States, which are the lower courts, appeal court,
and Supreme Court. However, there are only two levels of court in China. They are
the county court and the federal courts. Once the federal court made decision, there is
no opportunity for any appeals. Thirdly, the jury makes the conviction of rather the
defendant is guilty or not in United States County Courts, the judge decides the

The Dynamic Capacity And The Asset Based View
The Dynamic Capabilities idea has been picking up ubiquity in the key administration
in management field. This idea because of it the way that it is new may not surely
know thus the high odds of the notion confounding numerous. In this manner, it is
basic to examine the meaning of element capabilities as brought out by Teece,
Pisano, and Shuen in a working paper. The central inquiry in administration field is
the means by which associations accomplish and maintain an upper hand in the
market that is so radical and continually evolving. Therefore the paper looks to
distinguish different element abilities and how they influence the association s
execution. It will likewise contrast the dynamic capacity and the asset based view as
Barney recognizes it. As indicated by Teece, Pisano, and Shuen, a dynamic capacity
alludes to organization s ability to incorporate, form and change interior and outer
skills. They can help an association to accomplish creative types of upper hand
through joining, building and change of inside and outside skills, as to react to the
evolution in nature. Eisenhardt and Martin characterize dynamic capabilities in a
comparable way, i.e. with regards to accomplishing authoritative change, adjusted to
the extreme weight: in particular, these skills seen as business procedures that
utilization assets particularly the processes of incorporation, rebuilding, procurement
and discharge assets to adjust or make showcase changes. Dynamic capabilities are

Nina Simone Contributions
The 1960s marked a period of social unrest and frustration over civil liberties for
black Americans. The dominant figures of the Civil Rights movement were often
male political and social leaders such as Malcolm X or Martin Luther King Jr.
However, during this period music became an inseparable part of the Civil Rights
movement. The civil rights and protest music had a remarkable influence on the
freedom movements by spreading the political and social messages rooted in the
movement. Consequently, musical artists also became dominant sources of
leadership and influence. Nina Simoneled an influential and successful life as a
musical artist, especially during the civil rights movement. Her music fused genres of
classical, soul, rhythm and blues, and jazzto create a completely unique,
uncategorizable style of music. Her contralto voice and distinguished musical style
made her easily recognizable and popular to a diverse, global audience during the
60s and 70s. Although Simone is often omitted from historical recounts of the civil
rights movement, her songs are incredibly significant to the turbulent times as they
promoted a sense of black pride and projected the frustration and anger over the
oppression of black Americans, especially black women. Simone had dreams of
becoming a classical pianist which were never reached. Despite these unobtained
goals, Simone was able to become an eminent musical artist that always carried

Argumentative Essay On Minimum Wage
The primary reason for many non politically driven arguments for a hike in
minimum wage has been the cost of living increases which have marched upwards
over the years, meaning the price of survival in the United States has been increasing
steadily over the years. However, many of those pushing for an increase in minimum
wagehave failed to take into account that those who work at minimum wageare not
usually the same ones who are working for just their survival; they are people who
have been unlucky enough in their lives to be forced into supporting medical care
or are people who are supporting families as a single parent. The people who live on
minimum wage are typically the ones who need the most. According to Eric
Schlosser s book Fast... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
According to an article in the Economist, Is College Worth it? , the wage gap
between full time employees with a college degree and full time employees with
only a high school diploma is around $17,500 a year, with differences in regard to
which degree a worker has. However, the price of education is going up. In 1970,
the annual tuition for Yale was $2,550, while the minimum wage was $1.60 an
hour, meaning in order to pay a year s tuition to Yale; one had to work an average
of 6.4 hours a day for 250 days a year. The 2014 tuition for Yale is $45,800, which
means at $7.25 an hour a student would have to work 25.3 hours a day for 250
days in order to pay (Natalie). Many students take internships and work minimum
wage jobs in order to reduce the debt they must take on in order to graduate, and
the current minimum wage cannot support the cost of a college education.
Logically speaking, if no one can afford a college education, employees with a
college education will become rarer, and the wage gap will increase, making it
more important to get a college education, increasing the amount a debt people are
willing to take on to gain a degree, increasing the cost of a degree, all the while
reducing the quality of life of everyone except for those who stand on the financial
pillars supported by inadequate

Marley and I have people in our lives who are patient and care for us, which
enabled both of us to be loved despite the frustrations we have caused. Throughout
Marley Me, the Grogans are faced with a multitude of changes that expose their
ability to be flexible, and, similarly, I have also experienced situations in my life
that have done the same thing. Before her first child was born, Jenny found herself
in a situation where she had to be flexible. John and Jenny booked an expensive
birthing suite for Jenny weeks prior to having their son. On the day that she was
due, all the suites were booked which left them with the rooms that the poor
migrant workers chose. The luxury birthing suite was described as upper end hotel
rooms, spacious, bright, and well appointed wood grained furniture, but she gave
birth in a room where it sounded like a house of horrors and a woman s anguished
screams would pierce the air (Gorgan 103, 105). To avoid complications, Jenny
adapted to contrasting situations in short notice, and she gave birth to her son,
Patrick Grogan. Jenny was flexible at the hospital, and, coincidentally, I was also
flexible when facing an unfamiliar place. I had to move from India to the United
States, and I had to leave all the things that were familiar to me behind. After three
months of living in Seattle, Washington, we packed up and
Comparison And Contrast In Research Paper
Comparison and contrast is when you compare two alternatives in order to decide
which one is better by finding the differences or similarities between them. In
comparison you will find the differences between two or more things, and in contrast
you will find the similarities.
Depending on what type of paper you are writing, many times the subject will be
chosen for you. However, in other situations you have to choose your own; when
choosing the subjects keep in mind that they need to have obvious differences or
similarities.
A comparison and contrast essay can be structured in three ways: subject by subject,
that is good for short essays; separating the subjects in different paragraphs, for
example: write the subject A in one or two paragraphs and subject B in the next
paragraphs. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Subject A point 2, subject B, point 2 and so on. This type is good for long essays
and also make it easier for the reader to follow.
And the third way is the mixed sequence that includes both ways, subject by subject
and point by point, is good for a diversity on your paper.
When writing a comparison you will be constructing an analogy, which means
using an unusual subject related to something more usual to better help the reader
understand the subject. There is two common forms in analogy: metaphor, which
is a figure of speech where one thing is compared to an object or action but no
literally, is just a way so the reader can better comprehend, and simile that differs
from metaphor because of the use of the words like or as when comparing, for
example: my internet today is slow like a snail.

My Most Memorable Literary Experience
My most memorable literary experience isn t really one singular event, rather the
reigniting of interest in sitting still and reading a book. Growing up, in elementary
and middle school, I loved to read. I don t know if being an only child and an
introvert fed that interest or birthed it, but it was deeply rooted. Despite that, starting
my senior year in high schooland following into my early 20s that interest waned. Or
rather was upstaged by other blossoming interests in my boyfriend, working full
time, making big girl money and the independence that brought. And soon enough
bars too. You can t read a book in a bar.
Starting in the seventh grade I read the whole Scarpetta series by crime novelist
Patricia Cornwell. Kay Scarpetta was a forensic medical examiner whose boyfriend
was a FBI profiler and regularly became involved in serial murder cases. I ate that
up. Maybe a bit creepy for a twelve year old to carry around books called The Body
Farm, Postmortem, Cruel Unusual, etc., but I wouldn t put them down. Which
thinking about it now, is strange because I was a scaredy cat as a kid. I never
watched horror movies. But I could read about them. The thing that really grabbed
me was the medical aspect, the descriptions of anatomy and what happened to the
human body when it encountered a depraved individual. Also, the detailed accounts
of how to perform an autopsy. That s when the seed of a healthcare career was
planted. I remember telling one of my teachers I wanted to be
8th Amendment Death Penalty
As the famous American politician Martin O Malley once said, The death penalty is
ineffective as a deterrent, and the appeals process is expensive and cruel to the
surviving family members. This quote explains that the death penalty is ineffective
and arises even more complications for the family of the accused. In addition, the
death penalty is a consequence that an accused pays for their crime. Moreover, the
Eighth Amendment is trespassed because the death penalty is considered cruel and
unusual punishment. Also, a former national basketball player and now a politician,
Kevin Johnson said that in some states, they use three drug methods, including the

This shows that the death penalty targets the minorities and interferes with the Eighth

the Parry Sound area till it began its decline after 1895. Despite a moratorium on
exportation of raw lumber in 1899 which gave a slight but brief respite from the

How Hackers Can Protect Our Systems
In today s society, the term hacker is very well known across the world. It is scary to
know that you are being a victim of any individual who works with remote
computers. People who use unauthorized entries to other computers through
communication networks such as the Internet, are known as hacker. Since the
technology has improved, all people should have information about hackers and how
we can protect our systems against them.
Where was this term born? The term hacker comes from an idea derived from a
community of computer programmers and systems designers, in the 1960s around the
Massachusetts Institute of Technology s, Tech Model Railroad Club and MIT
Artificial Intelligence Laboratory. A hackeris a person who secretly gets access to a
computer system in order to get information. They create programs that are so
complex, even the best programmers cannot conceive them. Many of the hackers are
probably between fourteen and eighteen years old. They earn a lot of money stealing
important information; also, they steal because they are paid for doing it; but, many
people have become their prey causing them emotional disturbances.
Since 1997, companies have received hacker attacks in their systems, making some
lose a significant amount of money. With this history attacks it is now important to
find a method to combat them. They work stealing our passwords, using the process
password cracking, which works recovering passwords from data that have been

play The Don . When Lewis directly addresses the audience, thus breaking the fourth
wall, the illusion of the theatre is broken down. This highlights to the audience
Nowra s dramatic intent of the play Cosi witch was to spark a change in social
attitudes towards mental illness but also come to terms with his own contextual uses
and experience of mental illness and the asylums. By working with the mental

Therefore, there is a trend in the number of species found in each stream type
based on the riparian habitat. As the amount of organic pollution increased, there
should have been a decrease in the species richness of the streams. Species richness
also has an effect on the processing of leaf material. Less species richness due to
organic pollution forces the litter breakdown to be dependent on microbial activity
rather than shredders (Masese et al. 2014). In addition, microbial breakdown of
leaf litter is accelerated by the presence of nutrients, which is high in agricultural
streams (Masese et al. 2014). Therefore, the species richness of the agricultural
stream should have been low and leaf processing would be controlled by bacteria.
Although the agricultural stream had the highest species richness, the relative
frequency of shredders was very low compared to the other functional feeding
groups shown in Figure 3. Likewise, due to the organic pollution present in urban
streams, it would be expected to have a low species richness and thus any leaf
material would be processed by microbes as well. Furthermore, the forest stream
should have had the highest species richness, which would in turn impact leaf
processing by having the shredders drive leaf litter breakdown rather than microbes.
The Family Biotic Index describes the water quality of a stream by averaging the
tolerance values of all the individuals that were sampled (Hilsenhoff 1988). Based on
the equation,
Adenomatous Polyps Theory
Randomized patients, whose colonoscopy revealed the presences of adenomatous
polyps, viewed a power point presentation that documented the precancerous nature of
adenomatous polyps and associated an increased risk with immediate family
members. Additionally, a randomized portion of the adenomatous positive population

According to the social marketing conceptual framework, there are three categories
of products: actual products, core products, and augmented products. Actual
products, in this instance, are the colorectal screenings marketed to adenomatous
positive patients and their family members. Benefits of colonoscopy participation
(core products) include decreased risk of developing cancer, life, and the added
benefit (augmented product) of saving loved ones from cancer diagnoses. With
respect to colonoscopies, the price is a perceived loss of dignity, embarrassment,
and pride (Mikocla Walus, 2012). Post recovery, adenomatous positive patients
viewed an educational video regarding precancerous polyps, therefore the marketing
strategy takes place in the recovery room; and The Computer Based Education
Program and the one paged, personalized, letter of reinforcement are the tools used to

The Revolution And Reformation During The Renaissance
Revolution and reformation; these are two words that are often identified with war,
disagreement, and regional effects. While these things do indeed come along with a
revolution or reformation, they heed an array of positive and secular outcomes as
well. In addition, a revolution can, and usually will, cause a reformation.
Conversely, a reformation can cause a revolution. This can happen despite the two
things involved with the change or disagreement being seemingly unrelated. The
world is connected and affected in ways that we cannot comprehend until we look at
our world s history and see how every small occurrence leads to a landslide of
repercussions. The Renaissanceis a prime example of this interconnectedness, as it
was a time of rebirth, revolution and reformation. During the Renaissance, many
changes ensued as a result of scientists, scholars and humanists who realized that they
weren t being taught or treated properly. This idea of unsatisfactory treatment as a
result of the humanist spirit of the Renaissance led to the Scientific Revolutionand
The Protestant Reformation, movements that occurred during the Renaissance that
changed life in Western Europe, and eventually the whole world, forever.
Imagine being told that everything you have learned from school and books was
based simply on the beliefs of philosophers. All of the scientific readings that you and
everyone you know have been studying because you trusted them to be true were

All Hail the King Essay
All Hail the King
Who wears the pants in their relationship? someone may ask about a couple. In the
short story By the River by Jack Hodgins, Jim Styan is definitely the one wearing
the pants and is in charge of most, if not all, matters regarding him and his wife s
life. In essence, Jim is the King of the jungle, or more appropriately put, he is the
King of the Canadian wilderness. The balance of power in some relationships isn t
always an even fifty fifty split. Sometimes, one of the partners has most, if not
complete, control of the relationship. Unfortunately,
Jim and Crystal Styan s relationship is a prime example of the presence of ill
balanced relationships around the world.

She lets Jim talk her first out of the classroom and then right off the island of her
birth and finally up here into the mountains to pursue his dream (pg 130, 133). All in
all, it is extremely evident that Jim plays a very big role in this relationship and
decides everything and anything while Crystal stands by and succumbs to everything
he says.
Adding on to Jim Styan s complete dominance in his relationship with
Crystal, he is also exceptionally disloyal. Time after time, Jim fails in fulfilling his
dream of becoming a farmer, but Crystal is always supportive of him no matter
how badly he fouls up. Jim is so ungrateful that when Crystal put a hand on his
shoulder to comfort him when the sway backed old Jersey cow disappeared into
the bush he shook it off as if she is the one that failed him (pg 133). Even though
Jim has dragged her from place to place always looking and looking for his dream
and for that dream and for him she had suffered Crystal Styan has never though of
leaving Jim and that miserable place (pg 133). Perhaps it is because he can no longer
stand his own failure, the treacherous and ungrateful Jim left the unsuspecting Crystal
all alone in the mountains with no one to care for her. Even after Jim s unannounced
departure six months

TOPIC: MARGINALIZED PEOPLE IN INDIA SCHEDULE CASTE
INTRODUCTION
Marginalized people are those people who are excluded from the society or society
s people don t provide them opportunity for integrating them because of this they
leg behind in social as well economic progress. We need two kinds of identity for
living in any society, those are social and economic who has social power they also
will also possess the economic power and for ruling on any society these powers are
very important. Due to long time exploitation and ignorance, marginalized people are
having their life in harsh poverty, illiteracy, health problem, malnutrition and
superstition, etc.
In India, we can categorize marginalized people based on caste, gender, disabled,
minorities (religious, linguistic, regional), etc. Hindu people come under the majority
of population, and this religion is a very fragmented religion due to Varna system,
because they have adopted the Varna system. According to their occupation, before
Uttar Vedik Era, its function was very smooth and there was no concept of
untouchability but after this era, it continued practicing. Due to different occupations,
there was the existence of caste system in Hindu religion. People can change their
religion but caste can t be changed. Because of this,

The Negative Effects Of Media Manipulation
Is society being influenced by the negative manipulation that exists within the realm
of media? Is manipulation being enclosed more by exaggeration or by well thought
tactics to drive ratings? Manipulation has been a long going issue that has taken its
tolls on numerous populations. Society is just now realizing the drastic effects it can
have on one s mind, soul, and intellect. MediaManipulation continues to grow as an
evil power as it consumes the minds of not only the publicaudience but also to the
ones who decide to use it to their advantage. The overall population has been long
overdue for a wakeup call of how manipulation is impacting not only their lives but
the lives of their loved ones as well. The media uses manipulation to negatively
influence the general public s knowledge on social issues.
To illustrate, Politics have been a leading cause in the ongoing roots of media
manipulation. The media is derailed on the opportunity to win politics over due to
the goal of covering the competition that exists amongst other stations, thus
maximizing revenues. Powerful media executives use misconduct to make sure
they are able to, stay on the good side of politicians in exchange for access (O Leary
par 4). The focus of politicians is the power they draw upon. Oftentimes being
viewed as misleading propaganda just to win the popular vote. A politician who is
willing to lie about their duties should be questioned as if they are really someone
who is willing to serve towards
Ulysses And Tennyson Comparison
In Tennyson s Ulysses , this poem is essentially an address or monologue of
Ulysses and his aging. The views throughout the poem coincide with the episode in
The Odyssey , where Calypso offers Odysseus to live like a god and is rejected by
him. In The Odyssey , Homer portrays him as middle aged, while in Ulysses , he is
reflected as an old man. Tennyson reflects on Ulysses old triumphs, going back to
his past and remembering what he has been through, while preparing for his
encounter with the death of aging. Ulysses views are reflected in the episode of
Calypso offering Odysseusimmortality through, his knowledge that comes with old
age, missing his longing for adventure, and instead of choosing immortality chooses
to live immortal through... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In Ulysses, Tennyson describes the views he has after his homecoming and the
Odyssey ends after he has been back home, and doesn t go any further than that.
Both of these stories explain Ulysses/Odysseus in various ways but with the same
mindful curiosity. They both long/longed for adventure and to see other cultures
and oversee other peoples lifestyles. In the Odyssey, it is all about the adventure in
store and where he is going and what he is going to see on his way home, but in
Ulysses it is all about the trials and adventures as a whole and how he felt about it
all. Ulysses thought of returning home is unappealing to him but in the Odyssey
he longs for his return and cannot wait for that day to come. Ulysses longs for the
movement, the journey to keep him moving, not stopping. Here, old age has made
him look at it in a different perspective; he values the journey more than that of in
the odyssey. When Denying Calypso s invitation for living like a god with
complete immortality, he contradicts himself and chooses the metaphor. So in
Ulysses, he reminisces on all of his work and how he will be remembered when he
is long gone through his great trails and achievements, be remembered through his
fame, the metaphor. He mentions that his son will take over after him and
continue his fame with the family name. In Ulysses he says how that since he is
getting old and nearing his death that his son who he realizes is older now will
help him after he is gone. In the Odyssey, he doesn t like just sitting back and
watching his son slowly take over, which causes him to leave in the first place.
When he is nearing death, the Odyssey it is predicted that he will die peacefully and
quietly in Ithaca but in Ulysseys, at the end of Tennyson s poem he is not peaceful at
all and is getting weaker
Va s Inefficiencies And Shortcomings
The VA health care program is a disaster. Some candidates want to get rid of it, but
our veterans need the VA to be there for them and their families. That s why the
Trump plan will: Fire the corrupt and incompetent VA executives that let our
veterans down. Under a Trump Administration, there will be no job security for VA
executives that enabled or overlooked corruption and incompetence. They re fired.
New leadership will focus the VA staff on delivering timely, top quality care and
other services to our nation s veterans. Under a Trump Administration, exposing and
addressing the VA s inefficiencies and shortcomings will be rewarded, not punished.
End waste, fraud and abuse at the VA. The Trump plan will ensure the VA is

The Dreaded Upper-arm Jiggle
The back of the upper arms is a common female problem area, especially after
menopause or if you lead an inactive lifestyle. (See References 1, p. 112) Weight
gain can result in that dreaded underarm jiggle that has you wearing long sleeved
shirts all year round. By exercising your triceps the three headed musclethat takes up
two thirds of your upper arm you can firm and define this area so you can
comfortably sport sleeveless shirts during the hot summers.
Exercises With Free Weights
You can work your triceps with a barbell or dumbbells. The latter might be more
convenient, since it allows you to work one arm at a time. Exercises can include
triceps extensions and kickbacks. These require you to extend and bend your elbows
to target the backs of your upper arms. You can do this while standing or sitting with
a dumbbell in your hand while your arm is extended overhead; you can bend forward
from your waist and press the dumbbell back; or you can lie face up on a bench with
your arms extended up, bending your elbows and bringing the weight toward your
forehead before pressing it up. (See References 2, p. 111)
Exercises With Machines
The triceps machine and high cable pulley station should become your best friends
in the gym. Triceps machines require you to bend and extend your elbows by
pressing and raising levers against the selected resistance. A high cable pulley with a
handle bar or rope attachment can also work your triceps. While in a split stance you

Rough Draft Of A Personal Narrative Essay
Personal narrative draft When I was 3 years old, just 19 months after my sister
was born, we went on a trip to Florida. We had to wake up at about 3:00 a.m.
,because it takes us an hour to get are luggage in the truck and to get everyone up
and dressed. Our truck was a black Suburban. It took an hour and a half to get the
airport, an hour or two to get our 3 bags of luggage on the plane,to get breakfast,to
get coffee for my Mom, Dad, Nana Pat, and, Papa Daryl. Finally, we got a security
check for all of us. Then,we went to go find our gate where our plane was. Then
we finally found our gate. We walked in through the door that was open and we
walked through a long tunnel like thing to get onto our plane. When we were
stepping onto our plane, I could see the path that the plane was on. There s a little
crack. A crack in between the plane and that little ramp thing that you walk on to
get into the plane. Our plane was Delta. After all of that we we re getting on the
plane. We found our sets and sat in them and buckled up we were ready for our
flight. Were on a plane I was really excited about the trip, when we took off it was
going down the runway faster and faster then all of a the sudden the plane was
going up off the ground then we were in the sky floating forward. Then the plane
was going fast whenever I looked out the window everything on land and not in the
air looked tiny it was an amazing site from up above. It felt like we were flying with
the birds.

Henry Clay Frick Research Paper
Henry Clay Frick
In this paper I am going to talk about how Henry Clay Frick was an important man to
our history and some things that he contributed. Not only was he a successful
industrialist, but an art patron and a philanthropist. He was one of the most important
people that helped put Pittsburgh on the map.
It all started in a small town in Westmoreland county called West Overton. He was
born in 1849 into a wealthy family not his parents but his grandfather had some
money. His grandfather was Abraham Overholt, who was a wealthy rye whiskey
distiller. As he was growing up his grandfather gave him a job as a bookkeeper. And
that was the job that made him want to become a ... Show more content on

It started because Carnegie wanted to eliminate the unions in his mills, but Frick
supported actions that setback the labor movement for decades. The Homestead
Works strike didn t look good for Carnegie because of the death and violence, which
had happened, and he tried to avoid any connections with him. The two kept
disputing each other which led to Frick resigning form the company in 1899(Warren,
1996).
After the violence at Homestead, Alexander Berkmann, attempted to assassinate
Henry Clay Frick in his second floor office in Downtown Pittsburgh. While
recovering from his attack at his home his son Clayton died shortly after birth. Frick
also didn t have much public support after the Homestead violence. However after
these to instances he gained public sympathy (Warren, 1996).
After his near death experience and fall out with Carnegie Steel Company he
continued his business interests in Pittsburgh, New York, and other cities. He formed
the St. Clair Steel Company in 1900, with the largest coke works in the world in
Clairton. He then played a major role in the formation of United States Steel
Corporation, after Carnegie sold his interests in the Carnegie Steel Company in 1901.
He then began investing in a large real estate in Downtown Pittsburgh that included
the Frick Building,
Literature Review On Communication Satisfaction
LITERATURE REVIEW Communication Satisfaction
Engin and Akgöz (2013) explains communication satisfaction as a criteria or a
theory constructing concept about the upward and downward communication among
executives and employees containing work related information. They state that when
an employee is satisfied with the communication within the organization, it is
expected that they will perform and be at their best. However, misunderstandings
from the inability of managers to communicate effectively to their subordinates lead
to poor performance (Chitrao, 2014). According to Greenbaum, Clampitt, and
Willihnganz (1988), the Communication Satisfaction Questionnaire has been proven
to be the most widely used method to measure organizational communication
satisfaction. Downs and Clampitt developed the questionnaire and eventually did a
critical review on studies of communication satisfaction (as cited in Engin and
Akgöz, 2013) and Zwije Koning De Jong (2007) evaluated the communication
satisfaction questionnaire and compared it to the critical incident technique to see
which method is better to measure communication satisfaction. They mention that
employee attitude and judgment in many communication practices are the main focus
of the questionnaire as these factors show the influence of communication
satisfaction on employee behavior. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

  • 1. Essays On King Lear Crafting an essay on "Essays on King Lear" poses a formidable challenge that demands a multifaceted approach. King Lear, a complex Shakespearean tragedy, delves into profound themes such as power, madness, familial relationships, and the nature of human suffering. Tackling a subject as intricate as this requires a comprehensive understanding of the play, its historical context, and the critical discourse surrounding it. The difficulty intensifies as one endeavors to navigate the labyrinthine layers of King Lear's characters, each with their own motivations, complexities, and moral dilemmas. Analyzing the intricacies of Lear's tragic journey, the manipulation by his daughters, and the interplay of secondary characters demands meticulous attention to detail and a nuanced interpretation. Furthermore, a successful essay on this topic must seamlessly blend literary analysis with historical and cultural context, demonstrating a profound awareness of the Elizabethan era's societal norms and Shakespearean conventions. The intertextuality with other works and the evolution of critical interpretations over time add additional layers of complexity. Attempting to encapsulate the essence of King Lear in an essay requires not only a mastery of language but also an ability to synthesize diverse perspectives, acknowledging the myriad ways scholars have grappled with the play over centuries. • 2. Who Was Responsible For The Sinking Of The Titanic The Titanic tragedy was not a very happy event, but I am here to share my opinion on the causes of the sinking of it. After examining all of the evidence, I have concluded that Captain Smith was the most significant cause in the sinking of the Titanic at 80 percent. I believe he was the main cause because he cancelled the lifeboat drills, and his crew decided to not turn out of the way of the iceberg. Also, only environmental factors matter if they hadn t crashed into the iceberg. Many other things aside from Captain Smith also helped in the demise of the Titanic on April 15, 1912. The pie graph indicates that Design Construction and Environmental Factors had the least effect on the Titanic s sinking. I chose to give Design Construction

  • 4. Aristotelian Virtues I do not believe that the table of Aristotelian virtues works for all the human virtues . According to Aristotle, behaving in the right manner is the mean between extremes of deficiency and excess. Excess is having too much of something, while deficiency is having too little of something. Sometimes, in real life situations it is difficult to figure out the means between excess and deficiency. You can use fear and confidence as an example. The mean is courage, while the excess is rashness and the deficiency is cowardice. A soldier for example does not want to be a coward. You want to be courageous, but it is hard to identify how many bullets needs to fly past someone s head before they can go back to safety? Virtues are also dependent on many things, such... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The mean is truthfulness and the vices are boastfulness and understatement/mock modesty. In a job interview, we are supposed to make our interviewer think we are the best person for the job. Maybe we do not think we would be the best fit for the job, but financially we need it. We are not being truthful when we say that we would be the best candidate for the job. Also, we are taught that during an interview, we need to be boastful. We need to make it show them we are skilled, experienced, and competent. Yes, you do not want to be overly boastful, but in this situation being boastful will benefit you more than if you were truthful. The final example why the table of Aristotle s virtues does not work for all human virtues, is because Aristotle lists ambition/empty vanity as a vice. For someone who is extremely religious, you can never worship God too much. In this case, the vice would be the virtue. As you can see, there are many reason why the table of Aristotelian virtues does not work for all the human virtues. Sometimes, vices can be virtues. When you are figuring out the means, you have to consider someone s religion, culture, or

Teaching Thus suggesting practitioners should embrace and accept the approach enabling them to adopt learning strategies that embed the acquisition of knowledge and skills into meaningful context (Macleod Brudenell and Kay, 2008, p.311). Moss and Petrie (2002) support this concept by stating pedagogy can be used to refer to whole domain of social responsibility for children, for their well being, learning and competence (p.138). Pugh and Duffy (2006) suggest a pedagogue is the one who leads and educates children s learning. This effectively impacts upon children s learning and enables them to become confident learners. As well as encouraging children to be in control of their own interests and learning (Every child matters, 2004). Allen and... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... It could be argued that even though all three curriculums support the concept that the role of adults is extremely important within Early Year s they each take different views. The EYFS tends to be a combination of the two as they maintain the need for children to be able to participate in child initiated activities as well as adult led activities (Allen and Whalley, 2010). Additionally, Kinney and Wharton (2007) indicate Reggio Emilia places a huge emphasis on working as co constructors, whereas High Scope places more of an emphasis on the children choosing their play for themselves. A main similarity of High Scope and EYFS is that both place an importance on child centred, adult led learning. Similarly both EYFS and High Scope have specific areas for learning, for example; Role play. This can effectively promote good practice as it is including all types of learners and ensuring all children have the same opportunities. Curtis and O Hagan (2009) assert that High Scope supports Reggio Emilia s philosophy and the EYFS and clarifies the role of the adult as practitioners who enhance and support children s learning. As well as individuals who can build positive interactions between themselves and the children to be able to successfully interact with each other. This

The first series Percy Jackson and the Olympians was the first series where Percy played the main hero and then he wrote a second series Heroes of Olympus where he is one of the seven heroes that the story revolves around. The act maybe carried out by force, under threat, or with a person who is incapable with valid consent. Some societies consider incest to include only those who live in the same household, or who belong to the same clan or lineage; other societies consider it to include blood relatives ; other societies further include those related by adoption or marriage. Incest between adults and those under the age of majority or age of consent is considered a form of child sexual abuse that has been shown to be one of the most extreme forms of childhood abuse, often resulting in serious and long term psychological trauma, especially in the case of parental incest. • 8. The World s Most Lastest Technology The purpose of technology is simple; to extend the capabilities of the party that is using a product. From the discovery of fire to the continued advancement of the world s most lastest technology, one thing has been a constant trend, the push for improvement and advancement. These trends of improvement are set by a few varying factors. Factors range from the natural curriousty that humans have to the fear of death. Every piece of technoglgy has purpose for its existance, though the reasons may varry. Though there is one push that seems to be drived from on constant event; death. The cornerstone of of human inovention, drive and thinking is the fear of death. In everyday life of 2015 the internet is engrained into almost every fasit of daily life around the world. The internet provides people with the ability to obtain information almost instantly on just about anything. Information is free flowing on the intertnet. Once it is placed in a server is can be rerieved from another location from almost anywhere in the world that is connected to the internet. While it may seem to be a simple part of modern life, this was not always the case. The Internet is a rather new technogy of created in the 20th century. • 9. Hmong Vs. Hmong Languages Belonging to one of the largest ethnic groups in Asia, the Hmong language has an ample number of speakers, however the distance between the communities has prevented the widespread use of the language and has also created several distinct dialects. In order to prevent this language from unnecessarily going extinct, moving forward with preventative preservation measures, specifically in regards to education, is imperative. Such measures may include immersion schools, computer programs, and bilingual education. Background and History Hmong is a minority language of the ‎Hmong Mien‎ language family and it is spoken by approximately three million people. It has no official status in the countries in which it is spoken, which include China, Vietnam, Lao, Burma, Thailand, France, and the United States. The language consists of a number of dialects due to the widespread speaker base, many of which are immensely distinct from one another and thus could be considered separate languages. The two major dialects of Hmong are White Hmong [Hmong Daw] and Green Hmong [Hmong Njua]. Green Hmong [Hmong Njua] is spoken primarily in southwestern China, Northern Vietnam, and Laos, while White Hmong [Hmong Daw] is spoken in countries to which people of the Hmong language immigrated such as France and the United States (Hmong Language). Diaspora Hmong villagers worked alongside the U.S. Central Intelligence Agency in their fight against North Vietnam in what has been called a secret

China is firmly positioned as a superpower in both the Asia Pacific region, and the global political arena. Some issues, however, have prevented China from fulfilling its national interests including territorial integrity, economic prosperity, a harmonious society, and a peaceful rise to power. Moreover, China s support of authoritarian regimes around the world in terms of trade and oil exchange may result in the spread of totalitarianism around the world as an effective trade. This sets a bad precedent for future international trade. China is still firmly placed to overtake the world s largest economy, the US, by the end of decade. This would be a shift in the hegemonic influence over economic affairs not just in the region, but in a global context. When the Chinese economy sneezes, the rest of world s economies get pneumonia. A loss in the percentage of growth in the Chinese economy reverberates through the rest of the Asia Pacific region s economies. Harmonious Society One of China s main goals is to achieve and maintain a harmonious socialist society by 2020. This is an ambition not easily obtained. Public outrage and lessening opinions of the government are growing in China reflected by the increasing number of public disturbances and riots. The police and military are quick to respond highlighting China s poor human rights record. Pollution too is a major problem in China with 16 out of the world s 20 most polluted cities being China. Over 700,000 deaths are attributed annually to pollution. Although China is moving towards better environmental sustainability, two thirds of its energy comes from coal sources currently and every dollar of GDP uses three times more energy than the global average.
  • 11. Sexual Content As A Man Or A Woman Introduction Critics decry the perverseness of television. They claim that the abundance of sexual content is poisoning their minds. Unfortunately, when it comes to backing up these claims, they are hard pressed to actually find evidence to back this up. Sexual content will be searched within the parameters of sitcoms. This paper will be specifically focusing on sexual content when it is portrayed in a comedy. Comedies are unique from dramas because they portray things in a funny light. They can still deal with serious topics, but they go about things in a different manner. Topics are played for a comedic effect, and when they revolve around things that are sexual in nature, people are worried that they are encouraging that specifically. The research will be exploring whether the subject of these sexual jokes are a man or a woman. There are comedic sexual references to both males and females being made by both males and females. Research Sexual content on television needs to have a definition. It cannot merely be defined according to one s own comfort and thinking in regards to sex. Kunkel, Eyal, and Finnerty (2005) describe sexual content as any depiction of sexual activity, sexually suggestive behaviour, or talk about sexuality or sexual activity . This is a common definition that is held to by many people, but some view sex as having more to do with culture. Buckingham, Willett, Bragg and Russell (2010) argue that sex might have more to do with cultural values and

All living organisms pass through three broad stages from conception to death, which are maturation, maturity and aging. Aging affects everyone because nearly everyone has the potential to grow old and all the societies in which we live have older members (Macdonald, 1997). Gerontology is the use of reason to understand aging. The term was used to refer to the scientific study of aging, but nowadays it includes the study of aging using views from other disciplines such as humanities, social policy and human services. It is important to not mix mild shortness of breath that does not affect normal daily activities with shortness of breath at low exercise level and wheezing as these may be symptoms of chronic bronchitis, asthma or heart failure. Digestive System A common change related to normal aging is changes that affect the digestive system. The most common one observed in old age is constipation (Macdonald, 1997). In order to minimise constipation it is essential or eat a fibre rich diet with more vegetables and fruit. Also maintaining regular exercise can also reduce the chance of developing constipation. Stools with blood or mucus are not part of normal ageing. Urination In normal ageing changes in urination also occurs. It is seen that there is more frequent urination at night (Matteson et al., 1998). In order to minimise this pathological aspect of normal ageing, it is suggested to avoid fluid intake one hour before sleeping. It is important to distinguish between difficulty or pain while passing urine as this may be due to urinary tract infections and for men as well as

It is a dream about success, a word that has different meanings for many people. The play, A Raisin in the Sun by Lorraine Hansberry explores the American dream and race through the lense of a poor black family that receives a ten thousand dollar life insurance check after the death of the patriarch of the family. Walter Lee Younger, the adult male in the house wants to invent it in a liquor store while Walter s mother believes that decision would be unchristian. Another view of the American dream in presented in the Great Gatsbyby F. Scott Fitzgerald, a 1920 s American novel in which a wealthy man, Gatsby, attempts to woo his former lover, Daisy Buchanan. I define the American dream as earning the respect and admiration of one s peers. Using my definition of the American dream, Walter is successful because he earns the respect of his family by refusing money to keep his dignity, whereas Gatsby does not achieve the dream because of the place and time in which he must climb the social ladder. Walter Lee Younger earns the respect of his family by showing personal growth by refusing to trade his dignity for a check. After Walter loses sixty five hundred dollars in a risky business venture, he attempts to make some it back by accepting money from the leader of a white neighborhood in exchange for not moving into the neighborhood. Everyone except for Walter is opposed to the idea of taking the mony. After spending a while trying to convince his family accepting the check is the right decision, Walter lashes out and tells everyone what his motives are by saying, Hell, yes, I want me some yachts someday! Framework considering joins the other four guideline of individual authority, mental models, building shared vision and group learning. When all the five orders are consolidated and honed in an association then that association changes itself from a conventional association to a learning association. A framework thinking approach concentrates on enhancing the mentality of people to concentrate on accomplishing long haul objectives which are essentials to the association than to actualize short term objectives which acquire impermanent benefits. This general advancement in frameworks considering an individual is built up when the association concentrates on the other four orders (Cropper, 2012). At the point when an individual spotlights on enhancing himself, he achieves a level of individual dominance, in this procedure he changes his disposition to take in new things and create from inside his internal viewpoints. At the point when internal improvement is accomplished through individual dominance, he wipes out the lack of awareness and enhances his mental models. Mental models are the path in which an singular takes a gander at things around him, when he experts himself, he picks up certainty and can accomplish better results while interfacing with individuals at a more individual level (Cropper, 2012). At the point when individual authority is joined with building shared vision an association accomplishes group learning. For those people who oppose fighting this comes as good news, as this area of the Hockey has been investigated heavily. In 1922, rule 56 was introduced into the National Hockey League which was supposed to regulate the fighting in the NHL and was called the official NHL rulebook(Wikipedia). Still today we have fighting in the National Hockey league even with rule 56 strictly enforced. It s not just the fighting that s the problem anymore, it s the concussions and other side effects /injuries from it. Players are suffering far greater head trauma each time they get in a fight which further on in life leads to multiple health problems. • 23. Oxidative Stress Essay During physical activity, the body undergoes many changes in the muscles, lungs, heart, and bones. The heart rate increases as the activity level increases, this happens to supply more oxygenated blood to the muscles. When there is an increase in training it decreases the resting heart rate, and the bloodpressure decreases due to blood vessel formation (Larson et al. 2012). An individual who may use this to supplement their physical activity would be someone most likely trying to avoid disease. For instance, in stage 1 hypertension, unhealthy, or has an obese gene. Sustained high blood pressure can result in hypertension which is a precursor to the development of cardiac and/or renal hypertrophy (Duarte et al. 2001). Seen in prior animal studies and in Edwards et al. (2007) the patient must be at a specific range (over 120/80 mm Hg) in order for quercetin supplementation to show effects. Also in Askari et al. I recommend that if the individual has talked to a physician and taking quercetin has no adverse effects on their health, then it would be of no harm to test it out for 3 months and see if there is any difference. However, the price of education is going up. In 1970, the annual tuition for Yale was $2,550, while the minimum wage was $1.60 an hour, meaning in order to pay a year s tuition to Yale; one had to work an average of 6.4 hours a day for 250 days a year. Throughout Marley Me, the Grogans are faced with a multitude of changes that expose their ability to be flexible, and, similarly, I have also experienced situations in my life that have done the same thing. Before her first child was born, Jenny found herself in a situation where she had to be flexible. John and Jenny booked an expensive birthing suite for Jenny weeks prior to having their son. On the day that she was due, all the suites were booked which left them with the rooms that the poor migrant workers chose. The luxury birthing suite was described as upper end hotel rooms, spacious, bright, and well appointed wood grained furniture, but she gave birth in a room where it sounded like a house of horrors and a woman s anguished screams would pierce the air (Gorgan 103, 105). To avoid complications, Jenny adapted to contrasting situations in short notice, and she gave birth to her son, Patrick Grogan. Jenny was flexible at the hospital, and, coincidentally, I was also flexible when facing an unfamiliar place. I had to move from India to the United States, and I had to leave all the things that were familiar to me behind. After three months of living in Seattle, Washington, we packed up and
  • 35. Comparison And Contrast In Research Paper Comparison and contrast is when you compare two alternatives in order to decide which one is better by finding the differences or similarities between them. In comparison you will find the differences between two or more things, and in contrast you will find the similarities. Depending on what type of paper you are writing, many times the subject will be chosen for you. However, in other situations you have to choose your own; when choosing the subjects keep in mind that they need to have obvious differences or similarities. A comparison and contrast essay can be structured in three ways: subject by subject, that is good for short essays; separating the subjects in different paragraphs, for example: write the subject A in one or two paragraphs and subject B in the next paragraphs. ... When writing a comparison you will be constructing an analogy, which means using an unusual subject related to something more usual to better help the reader understand the subject. There is two common forms in analogy: metaphor, which is a figure of speech where one thing is compared to an object or action but no literally, is just a way so the reader can better comprehend, and simile that differs from metaphor because of the use of the words like or as when comparing, for example: my internet today is slow like a snail. • 36. My Most Memorable Literary Experience My most memorable literary experience isn t really one singular event, rather the reigniting of interest in sitting still and reading a book. Growing up, in elementary and middle school, I loved to read. I don t know if being an only child and an introvert fed that interest or birthed it, but it was deeply rooted. Despite that, starting my senior year in high schooland following into my early 20s that interest waned. Or rather was upstaged by other blossoming interests in my boyfriend, working full time, making big girl money and the independence that brought. And soon enough bars too. You can t read a book in a bar. Starting in the seventh grade I read the whole Scarpetta series by crime novelist Patricia Cornwell. Kay Scarpetta was a forensic medical examiner whose boyfriend was a FBI profiler and regularly became involved in serial murder cases. I ate that up. Maybe a bit creepy for a twelve year old to carry around books called The Body Farm, Postmortem, Cruel Unusual, etc., but I wouldn t put them down. Which thinking about it now, is strange because I was a scaredy cat as a kid. I never watched horror movies. But I could read about them. The thing that really grabbed me was the medical aspect, the descriptions of anatomy and what happened to the human body when it encountered a depraved individual. Also, the detailed accounts of how to perform an autopsy. That s when the seed of a healthcare career was planted. I remember telling one of my teachers I wanted to be

People who use unauthorized entries to other computers through communication networks such as the Internet, are known as hacker. Since the technology has improved, all people should have information about hackers and how we can protect our systems against them. Where was this term born? The term hacker comes from an idea derived from a community of computer programmers and systems designers, in the 1960s around the Massachusetts Institute of Technology s, Tech Model Railroad Club and MIT Artificial Intelligence Laboratory. A hackeris a person who secretly gets access to a computer system in order to get information. They create programs that are so complex, even the best programmers cannot conceive them. Many of the hackers are probably between fourteen and eighteen years old. They earn a lot of money stealing important information; also, they steal because they are paid for doing it; but, many people have become their prey causing them emotional disturbances. Therefore, there is a trend in the number of species found in each stream type based on the riparian habitat. As the amount of organic pollution increased, there should have been a decrease in the species richness of the streams. Species richness also has an effect on the processing of leaf material. Less species richness due to organic pollution forces the litter breakdown to be dependent on microbial activity rather than shredders (Masese et al. 2014). In addition, microbial breakdown of leaf litter is accelerated by the presence of nutrients, which is high in agricultural streams (Masese et al. 2014). Therefore, the species richness of the agricultural stream should have been low and leaf processing would be controlled by bacteria. Although the agricultural stream had the highest species richness, the relative frequency of shredders was very low compared to the other functional feeding groups shown in Figure 3. Likewise, due to the organic pollution present in urban streams, it would be expected to have a low species richness and thus any leaf material would be processed by microbes as well. Furthermore, the forest stream should have had the highest species richness, which would in turn impact leaf processing by having the shredders drive leaf litter breakdown rather than microbes. The Family Biotic Index describes the water quality of a stream by averaging the tolerance values of all the individuals that were sampled (Hilsenhoff 1988). Based on the equation,

While these things do indeed come along with a revolution or reformation, they heed an array of positive and secular outcomes as well. In addition, a revolution can, and usually will, cause a reformation. Conversely, a reformation can cause a revolution. This can happen despite the two things involved with the change or disagreement being seemingly unrelated. The world is connected and affected in ways that we cannot comprehend until we look at our world s history and see how every small occurrence leads to a landslide of repercussions. The Renaissanceis a prime example of this interconnectedness, as it was a time of rebirth, revolution and reformation. Both of these stories explain Ulysses/Odysseus in various ways but with the same mindful curiosity. They both long/longed for adventure and to see other cultures and oversee other peoples lifestyles. In the Odyssey, it is all about the adventure in store and where he is going and what he is going to see on his way home, but in Ulysses it is all about the trials and adventures as a whole and how he felt about it all. Ulysses thought of returning home is unappealing to him but in the Odyssey he longs for his return and cannot wait for that day to come. Ulysses longs for the movement, the journey to keep him moving, not stopping. Here, old age has made him look at it in a different perspective; he values the journey more than that of in the odyssey. When Denying Calypso s invitation for living like a god with complete immortality, he contradicts himself and chooses the metaphor. So in Ulysses, he reminisces on all of his work and how he will be remembered when he is long gone through his great trails and achievements, be remembered through his fame, the metaphor. He mentions that his son will take over after him and continue his fame with the family name. In Ulysses he says how that since he is getting old and nearing his death that his son who he realizes is older now will help him after he is gone. In the Odyssey, he doesn t like just sitting back and watching his son slowly take over, which causes him to leave in the first place. When he is nearing death, the Odyssey it is predicted that he will die peacefully and quietly in Ithaca but in Ulysseys, at the end of Tennyson s poem he is not peaceful at all and is getting weaker
