Off The Veranda
Off the Veranda by Bronislaw Malinowski is a documentary that begins to discuss the start of his
upcoming in the field of anthropology, the people of Trobriand Island and Functionalism. In the
start of the Documentary we learn Malinowski began his field work by studying the Mailu
people. During his work he was studying the natives afar from a Veranda. We learn that in order
to fully understand the society of the Mailu; Malinowski believes he needs to learn their native
language. Ultimately he decides to start afresh by studying the people of Trobriand Island. During
the beginnings of his encounters he began to understand what it takes to be a member of the

Marketing Research And Sustainable Management Practice
In such a volatile and complex industry as tourism, marketing research, an integral part of
marketing planning process, plays a crucial role in shaping a framework that guides Destination
Management Organisations (DMOs) decisions, be it public or private. At operational level, market
intelligence would help DMOs gain market insights, bridge the gap between tourism products and
visitors and potentially explore new markets. Without market data, goal and objectives would be
unrealistic thus resulting in inefficient marketingprogrammes. The report discusses attempts to
promote San Juan Islandsan archipelago part of the U.S. state of Washington, through their
marketing plan. Drawing on the marketing process proposed by Middleton et al. (2009) and relevant
literatures, what emerges from the plan is the lack of market data, lack of measurable objectives
and lack of sustainable management practice. As a result, the report recommends a comprehensive
marketing research and sustainable management practice.
2.INTRODUCTION
San Juan Islands, locating in the Salish Sea and north east of Seattle, comprise of three main
islands: San Juan Island, Orca Island and Lopez Island. Their particularly scenic nature and
abundant wild life have transformed a traditionally rural county into America s recent favourite
place for retirement. Still a natural resources based economy, San Juan Islands landscapes have
been reinvented and commodified for tourism. As such, tourism plays a central

Meriwether Lewis Expedition
Thomas Jefferson knew that Meriwether Lewis can do the expedition, but Lewis can t do it by
himself, so he asked William Clark to join him. The expedition is to find the all water route to
the Pacific to buy the Louisiana territory to have the ports. Between May of 1804 and March of
1806 they succeeded for traveling 8,000 miles in 28 months to the Pacific Ocean. I first witnessed
the plant that was first encountered was a Quamas, found near the Nez Perce tribe, it s a food
plant. The first animal I witnessed was a Prairie Dog, it was encountered in Osage county,
Missouri, and they build huge underground villages. The landscape they encountered was the
Rockies and the Cascade, they had many barriers, and it was encountered near upper Missouri....

Lewis made a perfect canadite in Jefferson s Eyes, and the president soon set out years of study
that would equip him with the scientific skills need for his journey. Clark chosen by Lewis
because Lewis and Clark were friends in the army and he need Clark to do map making.
Sacagawea on the expedition she finds edible plants to have more food and supplies to help
Lewis and Clark. Also when a boat was capsized, she was able to save some of its cargo, including
important documents and supplies. Sacagawea benefited the most because when a boat was
capsized she was able to save some of its cargo, including important documents and supplies. Lewis
and Clark they didn t discover a Northwest Passage or start the western fur trade or overland
immigration, but they certainly influenced the latter two movements. My opinion on the expedition
to find the all water route to the Pacific was amazing when they have to go through these tough

What Is The Theme Of Larkin And Abse
Both Larkin and Abse have composed verse which includes certain degrees of misery, be that as it
may, it s reasonable that they have distinctive perspectives on what causes the feeling. Charles
Hall said that it was ideal in Larkin s perspective, for everybody to leave themselves to their fates
and acknowledge the intractable void of their lives. Larkin appears to have the viewpoint that
misery is for the most part and crucial part of the human condition. Though Abse is for the most
part hopeful, as a rule his misery in his verse is subjective, brought about by uncommon minutes in
the family, or attention to mortality.
Larkin for the most part trusts that despondency lies in the desires of life and reality. One of his
most regular convictions ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
A good example of this is in his poem, A scene from married life. Generally the title suggests an
unremarkable and common place event, reluctant to give any information of the overall content of
the poem. Much like Larkin, Abse comments of the routine of his day, saying that nothing was
happening until it happened, the uneventful day therefore acts as a surprise for the argument that
follows. However, Abse writes about routine as a comfort, something he can rely on. It seems that
he prefers the routine over the uneventful occurrences. Although, Abse also has similar views to
Larkin when he mentions stuffy office block he seems to resent the idea of work and describes the
commuters as trapped , almost as though they are imprisoned by their job and the routine which
prevents the freedom of occasional spontaneous events. He uses the transferred epithet of brooding
the represent his own unhappiness as he thinks about the argument and the dank confusion of the
grey clouds indicative of his troubled marriage. He describes a marriage between the sea and the
sky as a resentful wedlock , possibly signifying the dominant verses the submissive in their
relationship much like the metaphor in the previous stanza where the early worm eats the dead
bird. Abse s method of rearranging a well known saying allows the reader to take that Abse, who
considered himself the dominant one of the pair, was in fact subjugated by his wife during this
argument, embarrassing him. Abse, in this poem, uses the method of self mockery in order to
create an almost amusing scene of an actually very serious moment. He describes his moment of
despair similar to a B movie, which was a poor quality movie known for its clichГ©d scenes and
bad acting. He pictures his great climatic scene, of him killing himself in a very

Big Brother And Technology Essay
Everyday technology is advancing and has become part of people s everyday life, from phones,
cars, computers, and even the light switches in a room. With all this technology, it would be
easy to use it for other things then what they were intended for. For example what if someone
wanted to control what another person could do such as sleeping or going places. It would not
not be that hard to try and control another human being, or even worse being watched every
single moment of everyday for the rest of their life. That idea is not as farfetched as it may seem
now with even more phones, computers, televisions and cameras in general. Technology is taking
humanity nearer and nearer to world of Big Brother and the worse part is that if they are not
careful, Big Brother could raise without any citizen ever knowing.
In the novel 1984, by George Orwell, there is a society that has become a negative utopia, in
where there is a party named Big Brother that watches over all of its people at all times using
mainly their invention of the telescreen. Likewise, many people have phones, computers, tablets,
and even televisions that have functions such as a camera and video usages. Companies that create
these products have credibility and the trust of the public that they would not use the cameras on
their phone for surveillance and that s where people seem to be fine with the whole thing. Another
thing to be worried about is also public cameras or street cameras which can monitor groups of

Peripheral Catheters
Peripheral intravenous catheters are one of the most routinely used devices in hospitalized
patients. They are used in anticipation of an emergent need, to administers fluids, nutrition,
medications, blood products and to take samples of blood for testing. The Centers for Disease
Control and Prevention require that catheters are to be replaced every 72 96 hours to prevent
infection and phlebitis. Signs and symptoms of infection and phlebitis which are clinical
indications to change an IV. They may present as redness, pain, swelling, or purulent discharge.

The meta analysis of all the studies cited in Morrison and Holt s research, if approved by the
CDC would indicate a big change in the nursing process. This procedure is painful for patients and
time consuming for nurses. This article also indicated the amount of money and resources that
would be saved annually would be outstanding. The supplies used to insert and maintain an IV
could be redirected to other things in patient care. Conclusion the conclusion that peripheral IV
catheters can be changed only when clinically indicated without increased risk to the patient and
with cost savings for healthcare organizations. Per the present CDC guidelines, and the research
done, there is no increase of the incidence of infection or phlebitis This will be a big change in
nursing practice. References Morrison, K., Holt, K. E. (2015). The Effectiveness of Clinically

Thyroid Gland ( Tg )
Introduction
Thyroid gland (TG) secretes thyroxin and triiodothyronine (Garber et al., 2012). Its main
function is to make hormones and main job is to produce hormones T4 and T3 (Mortimer,
2011). To do this the human TG has to take a form of iodine from the bloodstream into the human
TG (Garber et al., 2012). This substance then undergoes a numerous of different chemical
reactions which resulted in the production of T3 and T4 (Mortimer, 2011). In order to make T4
and T3, TG needs iodine, a substance found in the food, both T4 and T3 contains four atoms of
iodine. T4 is then converted to T3 through the cells and tissues of the human body. More active
hormone is T3, because it influences the activity of all the cells and tissues of the human body.
Thyroid is controlled by hormones produced by hypothalamus and pituitary. Besides, these secreted
hormones in the TG are essential for normal growth, better development and metabolic function.
Thyrotropin releasing hormone (TRH) stimulates the pituitary to secrete TSH which in turn acts on
the TG to cause synthesis and secretion of thyroid hormones. Altered thyroid function is common
and respectively the release of TRH and TSH enable feedback of the hormones on the pituitary and
hypothalamus to inhibit synthesis. For example, a prevalence of hypothyroidism has been reported
in the literature that up to ten percentage in the general population is possible expected to occur.
It is an essential to have accurate assays of thyroid

Margaret Atwood s Theory Of Feminism
Feminism is a movement aimed at defining, establishing, and defending equal political, economic,
andsocial right and equal opportunities for women. Feminism is mainly focused on women s
issues, behaviorand belief of a feminist. It is a philosophy in which women and their contribution
are valued. Feminists view the world as being unequal. They want to see the gender gap and the
idea that men are superior to women decreased or even abolished. Different types of feminist theory
add to this interesting study and each has had a profound impact on women and gender studies. The
study of feminismcould be split into three parts as Cultural Feminism, Individual Feminism and
Liberal Feminism.

Atwood in an interview says:
It s a human activity that has all kinds of symbolic connotations depending on the society and the
level of society. In other words ,what you eat varies from place to place, how we feel about what
we eat varies from place to place, how we feel about what we eat varies from individual as well as
from place to place. If you think of food as coming in various categories: sacred food, ceremonial
food, everyday food and things that are not to be eaten ,forbidden food, dirty food, if you like for
the anorexic ,all food is dirty food. (Lyons 228)
Atwood suggests that in conventional society, women are edible. They are swallowed up by their
male counterparts. Marian is aware of this fact and decides that if she must be eaten, then she will
take control of her own life and eat herself. Eating disorders in Atwood s works are therefore
employed as symbols of women s bodies responses to social pressure. Even before Marian returns
to first person selfhood, she sees that there might be a way out, that becoming trapped by a
repressive or unsatisfying role need not be the end of the matter. Atwood is urging women to assert
their right to eat and re inhabit their own

Universal Algebras Associative Ring ( R )
KEY WORDS: Fuzzy set, anti S fuzzy subsemiring, pseudo anti S fuzzy coset.
INTRODUCTION: There are many concepts of universal algebras generalizing an associative
ring ( R ; + ; . ). Some of them in particular, nearrings and several kinds of semirings have been
proven very useful. Semirings (called also halfrings) are algebras ( R ; + ; . ) share the same
properties as a ring except that ( R ; + ) is assumed to be a semigroup rather than a commutative
group. Semirings appear in a natural manner in some applications to the theory of automata and
formal languages. An algebra (R ; +, .) is said to be a semiring if (R ; +) and (R ; .) are
semigroups satisfying a. ( b+c ) = a. b+a. c and (b+c) .a = b. a+c. a for all a, b and c in R. After
the introduction of fuzzy sets by L.A.Zadeh[11], several researchers explored on the
generalization of the concept of fuzzy sets. The notion of anti fuzzy left h ideals in hemiring was
introduced by Akram.M and K.H.Dar [1]. The notion of homomorphism and anti homomorphism
of fuzzy and anti fuzzy ideal of a ring was introduced by N.Palaniappan K.Arjunan[6]. In this
paper, we introduce the some Theorems in anti S fuzzy subsemiring of a semiring.

Setting Up A Sound Training Program For Building Strength...
There are many variables to consider when setting up a sound training program for building
strength and muscle. Variables include: adherence to the goal, overall volume, intensity,
frequency, progression, exercise selection, tempo, and rest periods. After learning what those
variables mean, the next question is what is most important and how can I interchange these
variables to constantly improve while preventing injury. By learning how use periodization with
the variables stated above, a person can optimize their training for their specific goals. This
report will go into great detail about the hierarchy for these variables and how to interchange
them for the longevity within someone s lifting career. Introduction When looking to start a
strength regimen, many people get lost at their first step of time management and not
understanding the big picture. Understanding adherence to the goal can make or break a person
from the get go. The most important part of any training program and the top of the hierarchy is
adherence. Adherence is being able to stick to the program by training smart with in the balance
of everyday life and realistic goals. To make the best plan at the same time making a protocol the
person can stick to. The next level is volume, intensity, and frequency, which are the most common
building blocks for a solid training program in regards to building strength and muscle. These
variables are all equally important but it also depends on the specific goal,

The results obtained in my thesis so far revealed that the red macroalgae Bostrychia scorpioides
(Hudson) and Catenella caespitosa (Withering) from Palmones estuary (South Spain) have distinct
capacities for acquiring nutrients and light, which partially explains their spatial segregation in the
intertidal zone. However, the physiological responses of these two species to salinity, desiccation
and ultraviolet radiation (UV), which still remain unknown, would be studied during the research
stay project in Germany. This research goal perfectly suits the expertise of the Applied Ecology
and Phycology research group at the University of Rostock. During the research stay we plan to
conduct several salinity experiments on Spanish specimens of both red seaweeds for the
measurement of photosynthetic responses and the quantitative and qualitative determination of
organic osmolytes and sunscreen compounds (MAAs). These methods might afterwards be
implemented in my home laboratory to keep on researching in this field to develop future studies
and collaborations. Since I would like to pursue a research career abroad in the future I think that
knowing more about the German academic system and their research activities leaves a door open
to future collaborations. I strongly believe that the research stay would enrich my experience as a
young researcher and would help me growth as a person, through the experience of living abroad

On China By Henry Kissinger Chapter Summary
On China by Henry Kissinger
On China completely changed my view on China and how to deal with future. Before reading this
book, I believed that China was now the United States biggest adversary. Kissinger made the point
that hostile relations or treating China as a threat would make both situations worse. My thoughts
on China all revolved around one major misconception: the aspiration for world domination.
Unlike the Germans in the 1940s or the Soviets during the Cold War, China doesn t want to rule
the world. The Chinese believe that they are the Middle Kingdom. China is the center of the world
and everyone else are barbarians. The Chinese feel no need to conquer the world, instead they
believe that the world will learn from them. Their ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Will our relations with China be better or worse after the Trump administration?
How will the next generation deal with China? Will we see them as an ally or a threat?
Kissinger s voice is strangely clear in this book. I believe this is because he experienced much of
what is written first hand. Instead of writing based off of research, Kissinger gets to interject
many of his opinions along with observations. His writing style is quite advanced, but not in a
way that confused me very much. I only realized the difficulty of this book when reading it out
loud because even though the words were advanced, the concepts behind them were portrayed so
clearly that it didn t take much contemplating to understand them. On China was important for me
to read because it changed my view on China, Asia, and world politics in general. Kissinger
revealed many important ideas that shifted my view of China from an adversary to a nation we
should cooperate with. I am now more informed of how the world works and what the future might

Essay On Patriotism
Service Shows More than Patriotism The healthcare reform debate has been on the minds of
many Americans in recent years. Democrats have worked to put Obamacare in place in 2009
and want to fix issues using the existing platform. Many Republicans are currently working to
repeal and replace Obamacare with Trumpcare. The healthcare debate has come to a standstill in
Congress as deep party lines persist. In August 2017, following the fights over the universal
healthcare debate, TCA Regional News reported that Democrat Amy McGrath is running for
Congress in the state of Kentucky against Republican Andy Barr in 2018 (Yeager). McGrath felt
led to run due to Barr s support of repealing the Affordable Care Act and due to the lessons she

This is another image used to demonstrate the American army s protection and promote
patriotism. The value of patriotism is seen throughout military and American flag images in the
advertisement. The value of nontraditional gender roles is subtly seen through the auditory and
visual illustrations in the advertisement. Amy McGrath explains that in a previous experience of
hers, her local Congressman wrote to her that he believed that women should not be allowed to
serve in combat as the image of the letter appears on screen with the parts mentioned highlighted.
McGrath explains that she persisted and joined the Naval Academy anyway. This appeals to
nontraditional gender roles because it persuades the viewers that McGrath is different because
she is a woman who broke the mold in a male dominated area. McGrath is also seen with having
short hair and wearing a dark bomber jacket, white button up, and loose pants. McGrath is
noticeably not wearing much make up and has simple earrings and a wedding band. By wearing
non feminine clothes, McGrath appeals to value of nontraditional gender roles. McGrath is shown
to walking with her husband and young children down a grassy hill. McGrath is seen in a bright
pink shirt and khaki dress pants while holding her husband s hand. Her husband is wearing a blue
button up shirt and dark dress pants while holding their toddler. Twin preschooler boys, dressed in
the same blue polo and khaki shorts, run and play in front of their parents.

Art of Love
The Art of Love
Framing for a Misogynist
The poetry of Ovid exemplified in The Art of Love is one of the only examples of the
contemporary social behavior exhibited during the time of Rome. Ovid writes about social
activities, proper style, women, and how to obtain them. Through Ovid s perspective, there are
three different ways to consider a woman. These three views include relating a woman to a game, a
beautiful treasure, and as a means to assert social status. Comparatively, Andreas Capellanuswrites
in a way that makes women seem respected, worthy and as something to a man would willingly
devote his life to. Both men have a clear fascination with women and their relationship to men.
However, their distinct writing styles cause ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The view Ovid takes on women is not always clear. In some passages he has a violent perspective
on women. Ovid writes about how he easily could have taken advantage of women, displaying a
negative viewpoint of ownership towards females. Similarly he says never a virgin there was
free from the lust of a hand , which shows that men desire women, and a virgin is held as a high
prize, one that is worth committing the act of adultery for (Art 1. 89 126). On the other end,
Capellanus views the trophy of virginity as futile and counters that while you know some other
man is enjoying the embraces of your beloved, this will make you begin to value her solaces all the
more (2.2, 3). Furthermore, he makes the argument against adultery, again opposing the views of
Ovid. Capellanus explains his argument in detail by stating that a man in love is adorned with the
virtue of chastity, because he who shines with the light of one love can hardly think of embracing
another woman, even a beautiful one (1.4, 2).
Contrary to many men who believe that a man must be strong and not show a woman his
tenderness, Ovid shares his heart, saying, do not think it a shame to suffer her blows or her curses;
do not think it a shame, stooping, to kiss her feet (Art 2. 522 553) . This is simply an outstanding
statement, as it serves to show the true emotion and character of Ovid. This statement cannot be
taken lightly

Introduction 271 words 2,070 overall
The main aim of this paper is to identify and discuss a contemporary issue that affects operations
management, strategic management and human resource management within the specific industry.
Building on the authors interest this paper will focus on the arising issues and problems related
with the rapid growth of the influence of private and public (to lesser extent) benefactor owners
within the European football industry (Lang et al., 2011). The European model of Sport (Holt,
2009) refers to the overall design of the European Football Industry and implies a guideline that
organisations has to follow. The most important principles assume a global hierarchy where
national competitions are seen ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
These are strategic management, operations management and human resource management, which
will be briefly explained in this subchapter. To better understand the sugar daddy phenomenon it
is important to define it within the right historical and economical context. The sugar daddy
term refers to wealthy individual who decided to invest large amount of their capital into taking
over the football club (Lang et al., 2011) and then to inject even more money in order to acquire
better coaching and playing talent, hence to increase the overall team quality (Madden, 2012).
However there were many private owners of football clubs in the past. Wealthy investors like
Jack Walker (Blackburn Rovers F.C); Silvio Berlusconi (AC Milan) or Masimo Moratti
(Internazionale Milano) (Lang et al., 2011) managed their clubs in a way they could achieve both
sporting success and its long term financial stability. Only recently football clubs became an
expensive toy for even wealthier individuals (Kuper, 2009). The core example and a kind of
archetype of modern sugar daddy is Chelsea London Football Club owner Roman Abramovich who
injected a total of ВЈ880 million into his club between 2003 and 2012 (Franck Lang, 2012;
Madden, 2012). He was then followed by others: Sheikh Mansour Bin Zayed Al Nahyan bought

Operant Conditioning by B. F Skinner
Introduction People do on a day to day basis, many actions without realizing it, and most of the
time, they don t know why they do them. Certain reinforcements, some positive, and some negative
have conditioned their actions and thoughts. In this essay, I chose Burrhus Frederic Skinner who
came up with the theory of operant conditioning. B. F. skinner,(March 20, 1904 August 18, 1990)
is an American psychologist who believed that we do have such a thing as a mind, but that it is
simply more productive to study observable behavior rather than internal mental events. As
Skinner s theory was based on the earlier work of Thorndike, he also believed that the best way to
understand a behavior is to look at the causes of the... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
For example he studies the behavior of rats under carefully controlled laboratory conditions.
Skinner Box Skinner illustrated positive reinforcement by placing a hungry rat in his Skinner
box (Appendix 2). The box contained a lever in the side and as the rat moved about the box it
would accidentally knock the lever. As the lever move, a food pellet would drop into a container
next to the lever. The rats quickly learned to go straight to the lever after a few times of being put
in the box. The consequence of receiving food if they pressed the lever ensured that they would
repeat the action again and again. Skinner illustrated negative reinforcement by placing a rat in his
Skinner box and then subjecting it to an unpleasant electric current which caused it some
discomfort. As the rat moved about the box it would accidentally knock into the lever.
Immediately as it did so, the electric current would be switched off. The rats quickly learned to go
straight to the lever after a few times of being put in the box. The consequence of escaping the
electric current ensured that they would repeat the action again and again.
Human and animals are not alike Based on the Skinner box, we are able to conclude that Skinner
actually conducts and derived his theories from rats and other animals such as pigeon. The
experiment on pigeon was referred to as the Superstition in Pigeon in which a pigeon was kept in a
cage and at regular

Stroke Definition
Stroke: A stroke involves loss of brain functions caused by a loss of blood circulation to areas of the
brain.
Causes: Occurs when the blood supply to part of your brain is interrupted or severely reduced,
depriving brain tissue of oxygen and food. Within minutes, brain cells begin to die.
In Ischemic cerebral blood flow is suddenly impaired by a thrombus or embolus.
In Haemorrhagic the rupture of a cerebral blood vessel causes bleeding into the subarachnoid space
or brain tissue.
Types of stroke: Haemorrhagic stroke and Transient ischemic stroke.
Definition of Haemorrhagic stroke: Ruptured blood vessels in the brain
Definition of Transient Ischemic stroke: Blocked blood vessels in the brain

caused by local vessel abnormalities (hypertension, vasculitis, vascular malformation) or systemic
factors (drugs, trauma, tumours and sickle cell anaemia/leukaemia). Haemorrhaging directly
damages brain tissue and raises intracranial pressure giving headaches, vomiting nausea and
eventually coma and death.
Subarachnoid haemorrhage: Gradual collection of blood in the subarachnoid space of the Dura.
These can be traumatic or spontaneous. Spontaneous haemorrhages occur through saccular (berry)
aneurysms and through extensions of intracranial haemorrhaging or due to similar causes.
Pathophysiology of stroke:

A Brief Note On The Illinois Road Worker
As evident, the infrastructure of our state is imperative to the success of our economic heartbeat.
The state of Illinois maintains approximately 4,000 miles of public roadways making our state s
road among the greatest challenges to our states budget whether it be through maintenance,
expansion, or pioneering new paths each factor has a common denominator. That common
denominator is the Illinois roadworker. Although in the past the demands of our states road
workers have come as demanding and in turn challenging to our state s motorists, it has become
second nature to thoroughly asses our road workers needs in the name of safety. This policy
memo serves as an informative tool in the discussion currently pending between our states
legislature and the Federal Highway Administration along with roadways worker representative
councils to include the National Safety Council (NSC), the Department of Transportation
(DOT), the Bureau of Safety Engineering (BSE) and M60 road workers union to begin the
process of distribution and utilization of what is known as positive protective devices (PPD), or
roadway barrier devices to be utilized in order to better protect roadway workers in all hours of
the day, in any season of the year, in any weather conditions. The current discussion involves
conditions for appropriate use of positive protection devices to effectively protect road workers

Comparing Three Paintings
Sometimes in life, beauty appears only to those who seek it out. That is because we must learn to
recognize that beauty comes in many different forms and sometimes with greatly varying
characteristics. Because one thing is beautiful, it does not mean that something different can t be

Large Bathers , is widely considered to be one of his Paul Cezanne s finest, if not his finest, work.
Looking at the brilliant color, the depiction of the structure of the figures, the attention to
composition and the creation of implied spatial depth, it is not hard to see how Cezanne came to
influence a number of prominent artists in his own day, as well as of the next generation. There is a

Understanding the similarities and differences between the two works, one can by extension
understand how cubism took influence from post impressionism, as well as what new elements it
brought to the table. The setting and mood are very similar, as is the sense of timelessness and the
focus on structure and forms. In Picasso s work, however, the form is further broken down into
more basic geometric shapes and they are set against a two dimensional plane, in stark contrast to
the spatial depth that Cezanne featured ( Pablo Picasso s Cubism Period , n.d.).
Picasso s work is more monochromatic, as opposed to the brilliant colors of Cezanne s work. In
it s time, his work greatly challenged the traditional concept of subdued feminine beauty. It also
presents the influence of African art on Picasso. The Girls of Avignon is widely considered to be
the finest and most quintessential example of cubism in its heyday ( Pablo Picasso s Cubism Period ,

Creating a Model to Forecast the Adjusted Close Price of...
Aim of the Project
My intention is to create a model in order to forecast the adjusted close price of Paddy Power PLC
shares. I will examine some of the different Statistical Modelling techniques and evaluate the merits
of each in turn.
I will use the Generalised Autoregressive Conditional Heteroskedasticity (GARCH) model if it is
found that the variance of the time series is non constant. My final forecasting model will primarily
use the Autoregressive Integrated Moving Average (ARIMA) model to predict future closing
prices of the share, with a GARCH model of the variance incorporated.
I will use the R Software to implement these methods. R is a large open source statistical software
which is favoured by many professional statisticians and academics.
Data Set
I have obtained the Adjusted Daily Close Prices of Paddy Power PLC as quoted on the Irish
Stock Exchange for the past 3 years, from October 15th 2008 to October 13th 2011. I believe
that a sample of this size is large enough to test for statistical trends, such as seasonality. I have
plotted my data set using the R software package. Figure 1 is what was generated. A sample of the
data can be found in the References along with a link to an internet page containing the data.

Reasons To Be A Nun In The Middle Ages
In the Middle Ages, a woman might have several reasons to be a nun. Some of them, for example,
wanted to dedicate themselves to the God; or their families couldn t afford a daughter and sent
them to the convent; or they were not attractive enough to appeal a man and got marriage so they
went to the convent. Although we don t know the reason the prioress becoming the nun, she mustn t
have gone to the convent because of believing in god for she lacked a true religious calling.
Besides, as for her background, there are many suggestions she was from a noble family. Last but
not the least, the brooch the prioress wore had some words: Amor vincit omnia which means love

It represented a part of the rotten religious world.
The prioress s French indicates her education. She spoke French good and elegantly, but she had
never been to France. It seems that she was taught French in England. Without living in France,
she must have been given a good environment or a fine teacher to learn French while the convent
didn t have so enough resource. Therefore, she learned it at other place the family she belonged
that could afford to give a daughter a well education. However, having so well environment but not
going to France to learn more, the prioress shows her superficiality of limited learning.
The love of the prioress is an irony. Her love described in the prologue was not to the God but to
the little animals. She did many things with her charity and love that others believed she love
animals by heart. Nevertheless, no matter she loved animals by heart or not, her major intention
was to be a woman of empathy in other s eyes. The reason is like why she did good table manner
she wanted to earn other s esteem. In addition, she showed her compassion to mice was another
irony. The God was the highest status respected by followers, but the prioress pitied on a mouse
which was at very low status hated by people. In addition, England just went through the most
dreadful period, Black Death mice were the symbol of death at that time. It seems that she didn t

Rabindranath Tagore Poem
Rabindranath Tagore (1861 1941) was the youngest son of Debendranath Tagore. Tagore had early
success as a writer in his native Bengal. With his translations of some of his poems he became
rapidly known in the West. In fact his fame attained a luminous height, taking him across continents
on lecture tours and tours of friendship. For the world he became the voice of India s spiritual
heritage and for India, especially for Bengal, he became a great living institution.
Although Tagore wrote successfully in all literary genres, he was first of all a poet. Among his fifty
and odd volumes of poetry are Manasi (1890) , Sonar Tari (1894) , Gitanjali (1910) , and many

The frail vessel thou emptiest again and again and fillest it ever with fresh life . It suggests the
empty and destitute life of a man. Through this symbol the poet means to suggest that life
without the grace of God is as worthless as a pitcher without water. The day is no more; the
shadow is upon the earth. It is time that I go to the stream to fill my pitcher. Here, the poet is
eager to fill the empty pitcher with virtuous activities. The poet is always afraid that one day
when terrible Death knocks at his door, he will be able to welcome the guest with the full vessel.
Rabindrnath Tagore certainly is one of the greatest poets of the world. His achievement as a poet
rests mainly on his English Gitanjali. Gitanjali is a proof of Tagore s towering genius and
marvellous artistic powers. Tagore s Gitanjali shows apart from many other things, a fine use of
symbolism which is a blend of mysticism and music, religion and poetry. The list of the symbols

In addition, the stopping distance is longer considering the weight factor of the vehicle. Both these
issues make this automobile very dangerous to the driver, passengers, other motorist, pedestrians,

makes this vehicle less likely to roll over. There is also a shorter stopping distance for the car
considering the weight of the car is much lighter.
Sports utility vehicles take up more room compared to the car. There have been several infamous
people with sports utility vehicles who park in the compact parking spaces specifically designed
for compact cars. Other notorious sport utility drivers have been spotted taking up two parking
spaces. These enormous machines make it difficult for other conventional people to get in and out
of their automobiles. Conversely, cars take up less space to park. This allows more people to park
in the area.
Sports utility vehicles block the vision of the cars behind them. This does not allow drivers in
the cars to be able to look ahead of the road. This can be very dangerous. For example, an owner
of a sports utility vehicle is driving on the high way. When all of a sudden, an endangered
chimpanzee pops out on to the road. The sports utility vehicle swerves out the way avoiding it.
Nevertheless, the driver of the car was not able to see ahead of

Traditionally, my knowledge of child development and ways of working with clients has always
been influenced by psychiatric and psychological knowledge. Though this can be useful, it can also
be problem based as it categorises the clients and their needs (Milner and Bateman 2011).
Having had a problem based approach, this made it challenging and difficult for me in the first two
sessions. However, having carefully observed, as a result of this I have started to gain interest in the
solution focused approaches due to its brief nature and how much it focuses on solutions rather than
the actual problem.
In session three, this week I was able to notice the importance of this approach as we were put in
groups of three, me being the interviewer and the other two being the interviewee and a consultant.

Relationship Between China And South Asia
Introduction:
Since the mid 20th century an unlikely formidable alliance had slowly began to flourish in South
Asia. China and Pakistan s alliance began in the early 1960 s through the early 1970 s when
conflicts between India vs. China and Pakistan had intensified. The Sino Indian war that took place
in 1962 ended as fast as it began. Along with the war that had taken place between India and
Pakistan in 1965 and in 1971 when another indo Pakistani war erupted and East Pakistan claimed
independence and is known today as Bangladesh (Hagerty, 2002). In this comparison China and
Pakistan had identified their similar interests with their historical and geographical concerns in
maintaining India s power and influence within Southeast Asia (Federal China Security Affairs
Group [FCSAG], 2010). These are known as Geo Political interests. There are many definitions of
geopolitics but this one more specifically entails the competition over the control of territory and
extraction of resources (Jonatan, 2012) China and Pakistan have built a friendship that is, higher
than mountains, deeper than oceans, sweeter than honey, and stronger than steel (Tharoor, 2015),
they are collaborating on military technologies and supporting one another s economic interests.

Postpartum Depression In Fathers Poem Meaning

man who just doesn t enjoy the lifestyle that he has. He isn t living the American Dream because
he doesn t love what he does as a job. The artwork Postpartum Depression in Fathers shows a
father holding his baby son looking as if he is about to cry, staring deep into his son s eyes. This

Jan Beatty begins to leave little hints in the poem that show signs of hope that this poem isn t

rather inferred by the author. These signs show that this father actually loves his son very much
and is saying this speech as if to motivate his son to work towards his dreams and put in the effort
to excel in the job market. Once this idea is in mind, the title of the poem begins to make sense
by how his father is teaching him to dream, just in a different way that is unique and that not a lot
of people are familiar with. This strategy is called reverse motivation, its similar to someone

Piaget Essay
Piaget s Theory of Cognitive Development
Jean Piaget was born on August9, 1896, in the French speaking part of Switzerland. At an early
age he developed an interest in biology, and by the time he had graduated from high school he had
already published a number of papers. After marrying in 1923, he had three children, whom he
studied from infancy. Piaget is best known for organizing cognitive development into a series of
stages the levels of development corresponding too infancy, childhood, and adolescence. These four
stages are labeled the Sensorimotor stage, which occurs from birth to age two, (children experience
through their senses), the Preoporational stage, which occurs from ages two to six, (motor ... Show

I remember as a child thinking that the sun and moon followed me as I took a walk. In addition,
the child s use of language is not as sophisticated as it might seem. Children have a tendency to
confuse words with the objects they represent. If a child calls a toy block a car and I use it to make a
house , the child may become upset. To children, the name of an object is as much a part of the
object as it s size, shape, and color. To the Preoperational child, insulting words may really hurt.
(Coon 107). Consider my preschooler calling each other baby . To the adult it is an innocent word,
but to the preschooler it is the worst thing they can think of.
Piaget s description of the Preoperational stage also focused on all the other things the preschool
aged child still cannot do. According to Piaget, egocentrism is a cognitive state in which the child
sees the world only from his own perspective, without awareness that there are other perspectives.
(Bee and Boyd 155). The child is not being selfish; rather, she simply assumes that everyone sees
the world as she does. I see many examples of ego egocentrism on a daily basis in the preschool
environment and at home. For example, my daughter, Meryl, who is almost five years old, gets a
phone call from her aunt. She begins asking Meryl questions.
Instead of saying yes or no , Meryl simply nods her head.

When The Elephants Dance Summary
The book entitled When the Elephants Dance by Tess Uriza Holthe is a fiction novel based in
the capital of the Philippines called Manila. The book took place during World War II when the
Japanese occupied the Philippines. The book was very interesting as the author, Holthe, made
the reader feel as if he/she was experiencing the action. I liked the book because of its great
explanation and because it was told in three different perspectives. I did not like the quick
transitions into storytelling because I got a little confused while reading. In this book, there was a
family who lived in Manila, Philippines during the Japanese occupation during World War II. This
family faced the many struggles of the war as they tried to shelter each other in their home so no
one would be in harm s way. When one person went out to... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

After this movement, Manila was announced to be an open city. Hoping that this plan would end
destruction, the people were let down when they learned that Japan was still bombing Manila
and soon began to take over ( Timeline ). Unfortunately, the troops were in a horrible situation;
but an even worse scenario when they received the news that General McArthur would leave
them. General McArthur had left for Australia [due to] personal orders of Roosevelt in March,
leaving behind 80,000 soldiers who were later ordered to surrender [in May of 1942] (Hailstork

soldiers forced to surrender were then forced to face the Bataan Death March, a walk to a prison
camp that was far away ( Philippine ). Most of the prisoners died on the way to the camp due to
starvation, thirst, disease, and random execution... ( Timeline ). It has been assumed that as many
as 10,000 men died during the journey to the prison

Personal Identity In Adolescence
Human development is a perpetual process that commences with our conception and proceeds until
the point where we breathe our last breath. While we remain more stagnant during certain times of
our lives, there are others that are loaded with rapid change. One of these periods is adolescence, in
which teenagers develop psychosocially, cognitively, and morally. They must undergo these
dramatic changes that set a frame for the rest of their lives.
From a psychosocial perspective, Erik Erikson illustrated diverse stages of life as sundry
circumstances of contention. The conflict for adolescence is identity versus role confusion. He
believed this was the duration when humans must decipher our identity and have a strong feeling of
self. We explore through different gregarious relationships and may endeavor different roles. To be
successful in this stage of development, however, we must find our personal identity.
Psychology.about.com.
This journey for a firm identity along with the cognitive and moral maturation adolescents
experience all play an integral part in how young teenagers decipher who they are going to be and
what their notions are. They are maturing in their coherent considering, their identity, and their
moral credence s. These variable are largely present or developing amid experiences students will
have as they come of age. It may be their advent of age experience that authentically solidifies their
moral development, or that helps them nail down precisely who

Henrik Ibsen s A Doll House
In the play, A Doll House by Henrik Ibsen, the title itself symbolizes the dependent and degraded
role of the wife within traditional marriages. Ibsen portrayed the generous nature root into women
by society, as well as the significant action of this nature, and lastly the need for them to find their
own voice in a world ruled by men. Ibsen wrote this play in 1879, this is the era where women were
obedient to men, tend the children until their husband came home, and stood by the Cult of
Domesticity. The cult of Domesticity stated that first, women must be more religious than men,
second be pure in heart, mind and body, third, submit to their husbands and fourth stay home. Ibsen
uses the character of Nora Helmer to emerge the women who does not follow these norms, her
character introduced women to femininity and furthermore the fight towards equal rights. The final
act of A Doll House serves as a universal appeal, when Nora Helmer walked out on her husband and
children it touched the human spirit and awakened human emotions it created a personal
connection with women throughout the world. The final act of A Doll House was known as the

The Waitress Was New By Dominque Fabre
Loneliness can exist even on the bustling streets of New York City or the cramped cabin of a
passenger airliner, because within all of us there is a form of loneliness no amount of people
can cure. Within the novel The Waitress Was New, by Dominque Fabre, loneliness is presented
to us in the form of a barman named Pierre who works at a busy metro cafГ© in a suburb of
Paris. Pierre who is a professional at the art of listening leads a simple existence outwardly but
internally he is plagued by loneliness that has stemmed from his profession, age, and his past
regrets/turmoil s. Being a barman Pierre s job is to converse with people lending them his ear
daily, though rarely do the patrons reciprocate. Over the years Pierre has developed a wit and
collective personality in dealing with problems, this is helpful when his bosses are struggling with
marital issues that threaten the restaurant. Though at the end of the day Pierre doesn t have a wife
or family to go home vent to which helps alleviate the stress of the day for most people. The only
person he has consistently is himself which leads him to believe that he is sufficient with bottling
up daily problems. The reason for this lonermentality is because Pierre has become to believe that
he is at the end of his life and that he is simply a cog in the machine of process. His mindset is a
direct result from his past, with the loss of his mother (the only close family he had), his divorce
(which kids were not conceived), his

From 1955 to 1975
Why? The US fought to keep the South Vietnam, which was democratic, from becoming
communist like North Vietnam. The US felt responsible for protecting the world from communism
which is why they fought.
Difference from other American war it was different because, it wasn t a war for territory, but a
war to destroy an insurgency. This was also the first televised war.
Influence on American sentiment due to the fact that this was the first televised war, people saw
how horrifying the war was right from their television at home. This made Americans further
disapprove of the war making them protest even more.
Influence on literature and music the Vietnam War had an effect on music; musicians started
making songs that reflected the disapproval of the war as a way of protest. An example of a
song is The Times They Are A Changin by Bob Dylan. Anti war music posters were advertised
and a benefit dance was held on March 25, 1966. Another song was recorded, called Give Peace
a Chance by John Lennon regarding the disapproval of the war. The war also had an effect on
literature; many writers began writing works concerning war. Examples of poems written about
the Vietnam War was Gliding Baskets and Rice Will Grow Again by Frank A. Cross Jr. Those
had to do with the death of innocent Vietnamese civilians. Another writing was called We Regret
to Inform You by Paul Cameron. An example of a short story was The Lake Was Full of Artificial

Conflict In Cormac Mccarthy s The Road
What a conflict! Every author creates some type of conflict to have the reader sitting on the
edge of their seats whether the conflict be man versus man, man versus self, or man versus
nature. The novel The Road by Cormac McCarthy wrote a story about both a man and a boy who
have particularly conflicting characteristics when it comes to decision making. The boy in the
story is very optimistic about everything and the man can be pessimistic when either deciding on
what to do or when thinking about life or the future. In addition, both characters have different
outlooks and personalities that can sometimes collide. Both characters act completely different
when confronted by another character in the story. The man is more concerned about the safety
of the boy and himself. However, the boy wants to do anything and everything to help anyone
that they come across. For example, during one situation in the story, a thief attempted to steal all
their belongings. When the man caught him, the boy started crying, Papa?...Papa please don t
kill the man (McCarthy 256). In contrast, after the man caught the thief the man held him at gun
point and said, If you dont put down the knife and get away from the cart...I m going to blow
your brains out (McCarthy 256).The man is more concerned with their safety, whereas the boy is
concerned about the wellbeing and safety of the thief. The man acts in a similar manner to Ely
when the boy wants to give him food, In the morning they stood in the road and he and the boy
argued about what to give the old man (McCarthy 173). These two characters can collide
sometimes when deciding on whether or not they should give food to people like Ely or The
Lightning Man . Not only are they different when confronted by another character, they are also
different on the way they look at arising situations. People perceive situations either two ways:
optimistically or pessimistically. In the book, the author showed both ways of how a person would
react either optimistically or pessimistically in a post apocalyptic world. He showed this with two
characters, the man and the boy, the man reacting both pessimistically and optimistically in
situations, and the boy being the optimistic character.

The characteristics of this production certainly gave it a greater value. Another production that I
felt contained the greatest value in performance content and characteristics was Elmira College s
very own Orchesis. The content of Orchesis was also unlike any other production that I attended
all semester because it wasn t limited to just one genre of dance. The several performances
embedded within the show comprised of several diverse genres of dance ranging from ballet, to
hip hop, to tap, to jazz, to contemporary. This increased the production s vale because we rarely
get to attend a show that consists of a variety of styles with each one triggering a different mood.
The characteristics of Orchesis, which consisted of audience response, performer interaction,
training, and length of performance, also enhanced the show s value. The audience found
enjoyment in each dance routine, showing their gratification by singing along to the music
selection, cheering for their friends, and clapping at the end. The audience s actions and excitement
surely gave the performers more encouragement and filled the theater s atmosphere with
enthusiasm. The performer s interactions also escalated the audience s enthusiasm by dancing with
us. They would either come off stage or come from different places in the theater into the isles
making the audience feel as if we were part of the show. The training that

Cultural and Ethical Environment
Individuals have their own ethical standards to varying degrees. Businesses have ethical standards
in the same way individuals do. Business standards in the United States are consistent with what
most westerners would consider ethical and proper marketplace behavior. Just because ethical dos

  • 3. Marketing Research And Sustainable Management Practice In such a volatile and complex industry as tourism, marketing research, an integral part of marketing planning process, plays a crucial role in shaping a framework that guides Destination Management Organisations (DMOs) decisions, be it public or private. At operational level, market intelligence would help DMOs gain market insights, bridge the gap between tourism products and visitors and potentially explore new markets. Without market data, goal and objectives would be unrealistic thus resulting in inefficient marketingprogrammes. The report discusses attempts to promote San Juan Islandsan archipelago part of the U.S. state of Washington, through their marketing plan. Drawing on the marketing process proposed by Middleton et al. (2009) and relevant literatures, what emerges from the plan is the lack of market data, lack of measurable objectives and lack of sustainable management practice. As a result, the report recommends a comprehensive marketing research and sustainable management practice. 2.INTRODUCTION San Juan Islands, locating in the Salish Sea and north east of Seattle, comprise of three main islands: San Juan Island, Orca Island and Lopez Island. Their particularly scenic nature and abundant wild life have transformed a traditionally rural county into America s recent favourite place for retirement. Still a natural resources based economy, San Juan Islands landscapes have been reinvented and commodified for tourism. As such, tourism plays a central ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The expedition is to find the all water route to the Pacific to buy the Louisiana territory to have the ports. Between May of 1804 and March of 1806 they succeeded for traveling 8,000 miles in 28 months to the Pacific Ocean. I first witnessed the plant that was first encountered was a Quamas, found near the Nez Perce tribe, it s a food plant. The first animal I witnessed was a Prairie Dog, it was encountered in Osage county, Missouri, and they build huge underground villages. The landscape they encountered was the Rockies and the Cascade, they had many barriers, and it was encountered near upper Missouri.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... • 5. What Is The Theme Of Larkin And Abse Both Larkin and Abse have composed verse which includes certain degrees of misery, be that as it may, it s reasonable that they have distinctive perspectives on what causes the feeling. Charles Hall said that it was ideal in Larkin s perspective, for everybody to leave themselves to their fates and acknowledge the intractable void of their lives. Larkin appears to have the viewpoint that misery is for the most part and crucial part of the human condition. Though Abse is for the most part hopeful, as a rule his misery in his verse is subjective, brought about by uncommon minutes in the family, or attention to mortality. Larkin for the most part trusts that despondency lies in the desires of life and reality. One of his most regular convictions ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... A good example of this is in his poem, A scene from married life. Generally the title suggests an unremarkable and common place event, reluctant to give any information of the overall content of the poem. Much like Larkin, Abse comments of the routine of his day, saying that nothing was happening until it happened, the uneventful day therefore acts as a surprise for the argument that follows. However, Abse writes about routine as a comfort, something he can rely on. It seems that he prefers the routine over the uneventful occurrences. Although, Abse also has similar views to Larkin when he mentions stuffy office block he seems to resent the idea of work and describes the commuters as trapped , almost as though they are imprisoned by their job and the routine which prevents the freedom of occasional spontaneous events. He uses the transferred epithet of brooding the represent his own unhappiness as he thinks about the argument and the dank confusion of the grey clouds indicative of his troubled marriage. He describes a marriage between the sea and the sky as a resentful wedlock , possibly signifying the dominant verses the submissive in their relationship much like the metaphor in the previous stanza where the early worm eats the dead bird. Abse s method of rearranging a well known saying allows the reader to take that Abse, who considered himself the dominant one of the pair, was in fact subjugated by his wife during this argument, embarrassing him. Abse, in this poem, uses the method of self mockery in order to create an almost amusing scene of an actually very serious moment. He describes his moment of despair similar to a B movie, which was a poor quality movie known for its clichГ©d scenes and bad acting. He pictures his great climatic scene, of him killing himself in a very ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 6. Big Brother And Technology Essay Everyday technology is advancing and has become part of people s everyday life, from phones, cars, computers, and even the light switches in a room. With all this technology, it would be easy to use it for other things then what they were intended for. For example what if someone wanted to control what another person could do such as sleeping or going places. It would not not be that hard to try and control another human being, or even worse being watched every single moment of everyday for the rest of their life. That idea is not as farfetched as it may seem now with even more phones, computers, televisions and cameras in general. Technology is taking humanity nearer and nearer to world of Big Brother and the worse part is that if they are not careful, Big Brother could raise without any citizen ever knowing. In the novel 1984, by George Orwell, there is a society that has become a negative utopia, in where there is a party named Big Brother that watches over all of its people at all times using mainly their invention of the telescreen. Likewise, many people have phones, computers, tablets, and even televisions that have functions such as a camera and video usages. Companies that create these products have credibility and the trust of the public that they would not use the cameras on their phone for surveillance and that s where people seem to be fine with the whole thing. Another thing to be worried about is also public cameras or street cameras which can monitor groups of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The meta analysis of all the studies cited in Morrison and Holt s research, if approved by the CDC would indicate a big change in the nursing process. This procedure is painful for patients and time consuming for nurses. This article also indicated the amount of money and resources that would be saved annually would be outstanding. The supplies used to insert and maintain an IV could be redirected to other things in patient care. Conclusion the conclusion that peripheral IV catheters can be changed only when clinically indicated without increased risk to the patient and with cost savings for healthcare organizations. Per the present CDC guidelines, and the research done, there is no increase of the incidence of infection or phlebitis This will be a big change in nursing practice. References Morrison, K., Holt, K. • 8. Thyroid Gland ( Tg ) Introduction Thyroid gland (TG) secretes thyroxin and triiodothyronine (Garber et al., 2012). Its main function is to make hormones and main job is to produce hormones T4 and T3 (Mortimer, 2011). To do this the human TG has to take a form of iodine from the bloodstream into the human TG (Garber et al., 2012). This substance then undergoes a numerous of different chemical reactions which resulted in the production of T3 and T4 (Mortimer, 2011). In order to make T4 and T3, TG needs iodine, a substance found in the food, both T4 and T3 contains four atoms of iodine. T4 is then converted to T3 through the cells and tissues of the human body. More active hormone is T3, because it influences the activity of all the cells and tissues of the human body. Thyroid is controlled by hormones produced by hypothalamus and pituitary. Besides, these secreted hormones in the TG are essential for normal growth, better development and metabolic function. Thyrotropin releasing hormone (TRH) stimulates the pituitary to secrete TSH which in turn acts on the TG to cause synthesis and secretion of thyroid hormones. Altered thyroid function is common and respectively the release of TRH and TSH enable feedback of the hormones on the pituitary and hypothalamus to inhibit synthesis. For example, a prevalence of hypothyroidism has been reported in the literature that up to ten percentage in the general population is possible expected to occur. It is an essential to have accurate assays of thyroid ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Feminism is mainly focused on women s issues, behaviorand belief of a feminist. It is a philosophy in which women and their contribution are valued. Feminists view the world as being unequal. They want to see the gender gap and the idea that men are superior to women decreased or even abolished. Different types of feminist theory add to this interesting study and each has had a profound impact on women and gender studies. The study of feminismcould be split into three parts as Cultural Feminism, Individual Feminism and Liberal Feminism. Atwood in an interview says: It s a human activity that has all kinds of symbolic connotations depending on the society and the level of society. In other words ,what you eat varies from place to place, how we feel about what we eat varies from place to place, how we feel about what we eat varies from individual as well as from place to place. If you think of food as coming in various categories: sacred food, ceremonial food, everyday food and things that are not to be eaten ,forbidden food, dirty food, if you like for the anorexic ,all food is dirty food. (Lyons 228) Atwood suggests that in conventional society, women are edible. They are swallowed up by their male counterparts. Marian is aware of this fact and decides that if she must be eaten, then she will take control of her own life and eat herself. Eating disorders in Atwood s works are therefore employed as symbols of women s bodies responses to social pressure. Even before Marian returns to first person selfhood, she sees that there might be a way out, that becoming trapped by a repressive or unsatisfying role need not be the end of the matter. • 10. Universal Algebras Associative Ring ( R ) KEY WORDS: Fuzzy set, anti S fuzzy subsemiring, pseudo anti S fuzzy coset. INTRODUCTION: There are many concepts of universal algebras generalizing an associative ring ( R ; + ; . ). Some of them in particular, nearrings and several kinds of semirings have been proven very useful. Semirings (called also halfrings) are algebras ( R ; + ; . ) share the same properties as a ring except that ( R ; + ) is assumed to be a semigroup rather than a commutative group. Semirings appear in a natural manner in some applications to the theory of automata and formal languages. An algebra (R ; +, .) is said to be a semiring if (R ; +) and (R ; .) are semigroups satisfying a. ( b+c ) = a. b+a. c and (b+c) .a = b. a+c. a for all a, b and c in R. After the introduction of fuzzy sets by L.A.Zadeh[11], several researchers explored on the generalization of the concept of fuzzy sets. The notion of anti fuzzy left h ideals in hemiring was introduced by Akram.M and K.H.Dar [1]. The notion of homomorphism and anti homomorphism of fuzzy and anti fuzzy ideal of a ring was introduced by N.Palaniappan K.Arjunan[6]. In this paper, we introduce the some Theorems in anti S fuzzy subsemiring of a semiring. 1.PRELIMINARIES: 1.1 Definition: A S norm is a binary operation S: [0, 1]п‚ґ[0, 1] п‚® [0, 1] satisfying the following requirements; (i) 0 S x = x, 1 S x = 1 (boundary condition) (ii) x S y = y S x (commutativity) (iii) x S ( y S z) = ( x S y) S z (associativity) (iv) if x п‚Ј y and w п‚Ј z, then ... • 11. Setting Up A Sound Training Program For Building Strength... There are many variables to consider when setting up a sound training program for building strength and muscle. Variables include: adherence to the goal, overall volume, intensity, frequency, progression, exercise selection, tempo, and rest periods. After learning what those variables mean, the next question is what is most important and how can I interchange these variables to constantly improve while preventing injury. By learning how use periodization with the variables stated above, a person can optimize their training for their specific goals. This report will go into great detail about the hierarchy for these variables and how to interchange them for the longevity within someone s lifting career. Introduction When looking to start a strength regimen, many people get lost at their first step of time management and not understanding the big picture. Understanding adherence to the goal can make or break a person from the get go. The most important part of any training program and the top of the hierarchy is adherence. Adherence is being able to stick to the program by training smart with in the balance of everyday life and realistic goals. To make the best plan at the same time making a protocol the person can stick to. The next level is volume, intensity, and frequency, which are the most common building blocks for a solid training program in regards to building strength and muscle. This proposal presents a research project for a 2 month stay at the University of Rostock (Germany) as part of my doctoral studies. As a PhD student in Ecology at the University of Malaga, where I have developed my scientific background for the last three years, there are several reasons why I think I am an eligible candidate for this researchgrant. The topics and techniques that would be covered in the proposed research stay perfectly suit to my background, experience and research interests. The results obtained in my thesis so far revealed that the red macroalgae Bostrychia scorpioides (Hudson) and Catenella caespitosa (Withering) from Palmones estuary (South Spain) have distinct capacities for acquiring nutrients and light, which partially explains their spatial segregation in the intertidal zone. However, the physiological responses of these two species to salinity, desiccation and ultraviolet radiation (UV), which still remain unknown, would be studied during the research stay project in Germany. This research goal perfectly suits the expertise of the Applied Ecology and Phycology research group at the University of Rostock. During the research stay we plan to conduct several salinity experiments on Spanish specimens of both red seaweeds for the measurement of photosynthetic responses and the quantitative and qualitative determination of organic osmolytes and sunscreen compounds (MAAs). These methods might afterwards be implemented in my home laboratory to keep on researching in this field to develop future studies and collaborations. Since I would like to pursue a research career abroad in the future I think that knowing more about the German academic system and their research activities leaves a door open to future collaborations. • 13. On China By Henry Kissinger Chapter Summary On China by Henry Kissinger On China completely changed my view on China and how to deal with future. Before reading this book, I believed that China was now the United States biggest adversary. Kissinger made the point that hostile relations or treating China as a threat would make both situations worse. My thoughts on China all revolved around one major misconception: the aspiration for world domination. Unlike the Germans in the 1940s or the Soviets during the Cold War, China doesn t want to rule the world. The Chinese believe that they are the Middle Kingdom. China is the center of the world and everyone else are barbarians. The Chinese feel no need to conquer the world, instead they believe that the world will learn from them. Their ... Will we see them as an ally or a threat? Kissinger s voice is strangely clear in this book. I believe this is because he experienced much of what is written first hand. Instead of writing based off of research, Kissinger gets to interject many of his opinions along with observations. His writing style is quite advanced, but not in a way that confused me very much. I only realized the difficulty of this book when reading it out loud because even though the words were advanced, the concepts behind them were portrayed so clearly that it didn t take much contemplating to understand them. On China was important for me to read because it changed my view on China, Asia, and world politics in general. Kissinger revealed many important ideas that shifted my view of China from an adversary to a nation we should cooperate with. Democrats have worked to put Obamacare in place in 2009 and want to fix issues using the existing platform. Many Republicans are currently working to repeal and replace Obamacare with Trumpcare. The healthcare debate has come to a standstill in Congress as deep party lines persist. In August 2017, following the fights over the universal healthcare debate, TCA Regional News reported that Democrat Amy McGrath is running for Congress in the state of Kentucky against Republican Andy Barr in 2018 (Yeager). Amy McGrath explains that in a previous experience of hers, her local Congressman wrote to her that he believed that women should not be allowed to serve in combat as the image of the letter appears on screen with the parts mentioned highlighted. McGrath explains that she persisted and joined the Naval Academy anyway. This appeals to nontraditional gender roles because it persuades the viewers that McGrath is different because she is a woman who broke the mold in a male dominated area. McGrath is also seen with having short hair and wearing a dark bomber jacket, white button up, and loose pants. McGrath is noticeably not wearing much make up and has simple earrings and a wedding band. By wearing non feminine clothes, McGrath appeals to value of nontraditional gender roles. • 15. Art of Love The Art of Love Framing for a Misogynist The poetry of Ovid exemplified in The Art of Love is one of the only examples of the contemporary social behavior exhibited during the time of Rome. Ovid writes about social activities, proper style, women, and how to obtain them. Through Ovid s perspective, there are three different ways to consider a woman. These three views include relating a woman to a game, a beautiful treasure, and as a means to assert social status. Comparatively, Andreas Capellanuswrites in a way that makes women seem respected, worthy and as something to a man would willingly devote his life to. Both men have a clear fascination with women and their relationship to men. However, their distinct writing styles cause ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The view Ovid takes on women is not always clear. In some passages he has a violent perspective on women. Ovid writes about how he easily could have taken advantage of women, displaying a negative viewpoint of ownership towards females. Similarly he says never a virgin there was free from the lust of a hand , which shows that men desire women, and a virgin is held as a high prize, one that is worth committing the act of adultery for (Art 1. 89 126). On the other end, Capellanus views the trophy of virginity as futile and counters that while you know some other man is enjoying the embraces of your beloved, this will make you begin to value her solaces all the more (2.2, 3). Furthermore, he makes the argument against adultery, again opposing the views of Ovid. Capellanus explains his argument in detail by stating that a man in love is adorned with the virtue of chastity, because he who shines with the light of one love can hardly think of embracing another woman, even a beautiful one (1.4, 2). Contrary to many men who believe that a man must be strong and not show a woman his tenderness, Ovid shares his heart, saying, do not think it a shame to suffer her blows or her curses; do not think it a shame, stooping, to kiss her feet (Art 2. 522 553) . This is simply an outstanding statement, as it serves to show the true emotion and character of Ovid. This statement cannot be taken lightly ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

These are strategic management, operations management and human resource management, which will be briefly explained in this subchapter. To better understand the sugar daddy phenomenon it is important to define it within the right historical and economical context. The sugar daddy term refers to wealthy individual who decided to invest large amount of their capital into taking over the football club (Lang et al., 2011) and then to inject even more money in order to acquire better coaching and playing talent, hence to increase the overall team quality (Madden, 2012). However there were many private owners of football clubs in the past. Wealthy investors like Jack Walker (Blackburn Rovers F.C); Silvio Berlusconi (AC Milan) or Masimo Moratti (Internazionale Milano) (Lang et al., 2011) managed their clubs in a way they could achieve both sporting success and its long term financial stability. Only recently football clubs became an expensive toy for even wealthier individuals (Kuper, 2009). The core example and a kind of archetype of modern sugar daddy is Chelsea London Football Club owner Roman Abramovich who injected a total of ВЈ880 million into his club between 2003 and 2012 (Franck Lang, 2012; Madden, 2012). Certain reinforcements, some positive, and some negative have conditioned their actions and thoughts. In this essay, I chose Burrhus Frederic Skinner who came up with the theory of operant conditioning. B. F. skinner,(March 20, 1904 August 18, 1990) is an American psychologist who believed that we do have such a thing as a mind, but that it is simply more productive to study observable behavior rather than internal mental events. For example he studies the behavior of rats under carefully controlled laboratory conditions. Skinner Box Skinner illustrated positive reinforcement by placing a hungry rat in his Skinner box (Appendix 2). The box contained a lever in the side and as the rat moved about the box it would accidentally knock the lever. As the lever move, a food pellet would drop into a container next to the lever. The rats quickly learned to go straight to the lever after a few times of being put in the box. The consequence of receiving food if they pressed the lever ensured that they would repeat the action again and again. Skinner illustrated negative reinforcement by placing a rat in his Skinner box and then subjecting it to an unpleasant electric current which caused it some discomfort. As the rat moved about the box it would accidentally knock into the lever. Immediately as it did so, the electric current would be switched off. The rats quickly learned to go straight to the lever after a few times of being put in the box. The consequence of escaping the electric current ensured that they would repeat the action again and again. • 35. Relationship Between China And South Asia Introduction: Since the mid 20th century an unlikely formidable alliance had slowly began to flourish in South Asia. China and Pakistan s alliance began in the early 1960 s through the early 1970 s when conflicts between India vs. China and Pakistan had intensified. The Sino Indian war that took place in 1962 ended as fast as it began. Along with the war that had taken place between India and Pakistan in 1965 and in 1971 when another indo Pakistani war erupted and East Pakistan claimed independence and is known today as Bangladesh (Hagerty, 2002). In this comparison China and Pakistan had identified their similar interests with their historical and geographical concerns in maintaining India s power and influence within Southeast Asia (Federal China Security Affairs Group [FCSAG], 2010). The dream that every American has; this dream may be different for a lot of people, but to me it means getting a career that you love to wake up to everyday that also pays the bills. Jan Beatty s poem My Father Teaches Me to Dream describes a working class man who just doesn t enjoy the lifestyle that he has. He isn t living the American Dream because he doesn t love what he does as a job. The artwork Postpartum Depression in Fathers shows a father holding his baby son looking as if he is about to cry, staring deep into his son s eyes. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Jan Beatty begins to leave little hints in the poem that show signs of hope that this poem isn t just about a depressed father complaining. These signs aren t easily found, because they are rather inferred by the author. These signs show that this father actually loves his son very much and is saying this speech as if to motivate his son to work towards his dreams and put in the effort to excel in the job market. Once this idea is in mind, the title of the poem begins to make sense by how his father is teaching him to dream, just in a different way that is unique and that not a lot of people are familiar with. This strategy is called reverse motivation, its similar to someone saying to the reader that you can t accomplish something, which in turn just ends up motivating the reader to prove him or her wrong and do it anyways. At an early age he developed an interest in biology, and by the time he had graduated from high school he had already published a number of papers. After marrying in 1923, he had three children, whom he studied from infancy. Piaget is best known for organizing cognitive development into a series of stages the levels of development corresponding too infancy, childhood, and adolescence. In addition, the child s use of language is not as sophisticated as it might seem. Children have a tendency to confuse words with the objects they represent. If a child calls a toy block a car and I use it to make a house , the child may become upset. To children, the name of an object is as much a part of the object as it s size, shape, and color. To the Preoperational child, insulting words may really hurt. (Coon 107). Consider my preschooler calling each other baby . To the adult it is an innocent word, but to the preschooler it is the worst thing they can think of. Piaget s description of the Preoperational stage also focused on all the other things the preschool aged child still cannot do. According to Piaget, egocentrism is a cognitive state in which the child sees the world only from his own perspective, without awareness that there are other perspectives. (Bee and Boyd 155). The child is not being selfish; rather, she simply assumes that everyone sees the world as she does. I see many examples of ego egocentrism on a daily basis in the preschool environment and at home. For example, my daughter, Meryl, who is almost five years old, gets a phone call from her aunt. She begins asking Meryl questions. Instead of saying yes or no , Meryl simply nods her head. ... • 49. Conflict In Cormac Mccarthy s The Road What a conflict! Every author creates some type of conflict to have the reader sitting on the edge of their seats whether the conflict be man versus man, man versus self, or man versus nature. The novel The Road by Cormac McCarthy wrote a story about both a man and a boy who have particularly conflicting characteristics when it comes to decision making. The boy in the story is very optimistic about everything and the man can be pessimistic when either deciding on what to do or when thinking about life or the future. In addition, both characters have different outlooks and personalities that can sometimes collide. Both characters act completely different when confronted by another character in the story. The man is more concerned about the safety of the boy and himself. However, the boy wants to do anything and everything to help anyone that they come across. For example, during one situation in the story, a thief attempted to steal all their belongings. When the man caught him, the boy started crying, Papa?...Papa please don t kill the man (McCarthy 256). In contrast, after the man caught the thief the man held him at gun point and said, If you dont put down the knife and get away from the cart...I m going to blow your brains out (McCarthy 256).The man is more concerned with their safety, whereas the boy is concerned about the wellbeing and safety of the thief. The man acts in a similar manner to Ely when the boy wants to give him food, In the morning they stood in the road and he and the boy argued about what to give the old man (McCarthy 173). These two characters can collide sometimes when deciding on whether or not they should give food to people like Ely or The Lightning Man . Not only are they different when confronted by another character, they are also different on the way they look at arising situations. People perceive situations either two ways: optimistically or pessimistically. In the book, the author showed both ways of how a person would react either optimistically or pessimistically in a post apocalyptic world.
