1. Sportsmanship Essays
Crafting an essay on the subject of "Sportsmanship" can present both challenges and
opportunities for expression. At first glance, it might seem like a straightforward topic, but
delving into the intricacies of sportsmanship requires a nuanced approach. One must navigate
through the various dimensions of fair play, respect, and ethical conduct in the realm of sports.
The difficulty lies not only in defining sportsmanship but also in exploring its different
manifestations across diverse sporting contexts.
To create a compelling essay, one must strike a balance between theoretical discussions and real-
world examples. Incorporating personal anecdotes or case studies can add depth to the
exploration. However, ensuring that the essay doesn't become too anecdotal or loses its academic
rigor is a delicate task. It requires weaving a narrative that engages the reader while staying true
to the analytical nature of the essay.
Furthermore, addressing the evolution of sportsmanship over time and its cultural variations adds
another layer of complexity. The writer must be meticulous in their research to provide a
comprehensive understanding of sportsmanship across different sports, eras, and regions.
Analyzing the impact of technology, media, and societal changes on sportsmanship can also
contribute to the depth of the essay.
Additionally, approaching the topic from a critical perspective might involve discussing
controversies and ethical dilemmas in sports. This requires a delicate balance to avoid sounding
overly critical without losing sight of the core theme of sportsmanship.
In conclusion, while writing an essay on sportsmanship can be challenging due to the need for
depth, balance, and a nuanced approach, it also offers an opportunity for rich exploration and
thoughtful analysis. Crafting an essay that seamlessly integrates theory, examples, and critical
perspectives requires skill and dedication to the subject matter.

2. The Judge s Wife Casilda as an Evolutionary Character
Essay
Behind Two Strong Men is an Even Stronger Woman Sigmund Freud said, A woman
should soften but not weaken a man. This quote exemplifies the character Casilda
from Isabel Allende s short story The Judge s Wife . Although not seen by all as a
main character, Casilda is the strongest and most evolutionary character of the short
story. The Judge s Wife is an exceptional tale that follows the progression of
characters as they fight against their predetermined destinies and how they are
viewed in others eyes. Casilda is a catalyst for the evolution of almost every
character in the story. Not only does her character grow in The Judge s Wife , but
she is also a medium for the growth of the two other main characters in the story,

After three days, the priest and a group of Catholic women go to Casilda to plead for
Juana the Forlorn s life. They feel that she is just a poor old woman who does not
deserve this kind of torture simply to try to capture her son. She hears their request
and sets forth for the town, taking her children dressed in their Sunday best, with a
basket of food and a bottle of fresh water. The soldiers try to keep her away, but
once Judge Hidalgo hears his children s cries, he realizes the error of his ways.
Judge Hidalgo personally comes down and unlocks the cage, freeing Juana the
Forlorn. Again, Casilda makes him a softer, but not weaker, man. This softening is
not wasted on Judge Hidalgo alone. Casilda also has an immense impact on the
character of Nicolas Vidal. Nicolas Vidal is the villain of The Judge s Wife . Born
to a prostitute whom tried numerous times to achieve a self abortion during her
pregnancy, Nicolas was prophesied at birth to lose his head over a woman (Allende
1227). Juana may not have successfully expelled the growing child from her body,
but she feared that the numerous attempts and infallible techniques must have
tempered his soul to the hardness of iron (Allende 1227). Before he reached his
teens, his face carried with it the scars of knife fights with other children. Nicolas
became the leader of a
3. Impact Of Orientalism In Western Music
History is about the present as much as it is concerned with the past because the past
forms the foundation of how things are today which will also become history in
years to come.
As my own practice is music heavily influenced by the west, I will be exploring the
definition of Orientalism and The Primitive and Pagan in Contemporary Art with
some analysis of their long history before identifying their effects on today s western
music.
Famous orientalist, Edward Said, explained in his book Orientalism that through
European colonization, the Europeans established orientalism, the study of Orientals,
as a way to define themselves as the superior race compared to Orientals and justify
their colonization. As the study of Orientals expanded, Westerners generalized
attributes of Easterners and started forming their own knowledge about Easterners.
Hence, Orientalism can now be defined as Western stereotypes about Eastern people.
By this definition, orientalism can be found in rock music like Arabian Knights by
Siousie and The Banshees and has affected the way lyrics are written in songs. In
Arabian Knights, the lyrics Myriad lights I d be impressed Arabian Knights at your

In the more recent years, pop songs like Buttons by the Pussy Cat Dolls, uses strong
elements of Middle Eastern music in its production to complement the pop beats. A
distinct Arabic melody played by a flute sounding instrument can be heard repeatedly
throughout the song to make it more oriental. The same can be said about songs by
singer M.I.A as she uses Oriental music such as Bollywood music in songs like
Jimmy . It is hence clear that Orientalism has affected the type and style music in
both past and

The concert consisted of four jazz bands, NMSU jazz one and two as well Las

director by Pancho Romero. The first song they had played was Primera Vista
composed by Wayne Wallace . Along with the jazz band they also have a few
percussionists as well, on bongos, xylophone, and a drum set. The band also played
two more songs called Undecided arranged by Mike Tomaro/Shavers and Afro Blue

The band was directed by Jordan Sayre and Arnold Rose. The band started off with
Perdido Arranged by Roland Barret/Juan Tizol . For a high school band they had very
strong beginning, the song was very fast tempo, and lots of bold accents through the
piece. The tenor sax was really the star of this piece the band was really following
him instead the tenor sax kind of keeping time and beat. The band played about 2
more songs and LCHS Jazz I came on to stage about played another 3 songs as well.
One the played was Called The Chicken arranged by Kris Berg/Alfred James . This
songs included a lot of saxophones solos from alto sax to baritone sax. The trumpet
also played a big part to for solo, this piece they did lot of crescendos as well as
decrescendos. It gave a more bold jazz feeling which I really enjoyed. Last but not
least the NMSU jazz I came about on the stage to finish out the concert. They had
four songs to play instead of three like the other bands. They started off with Cell
Talk composed by Sammy Nestico . This piece was a calmer piece like a modern
typical jazz piece. There was great transitions as well bold accents through the pieces.
The band ends with a piece called Uno Mas composed by Paul Lopez . This piece

6. What Makes A Wonderful Person I Will Call Roe Essay
Everyone knows that first impressions have more meaning than anyone would like
to admit. However, first impressions are not always lasting impressions. In fact
first impressions can be just the beginning story to a series of stories. In this paper I
will introduce you to a wonderful person I will call Roe that has many different
stories to her series. The first book or cover will has an image of a typical Muslim.
She wears her hair covered with a hijab and long dresses or skirts that go all the
way to the floor. This look is often intimidating to those that do not understand it.
Roe explains that her cousin was being accused of being a terrorist while she was
filling up with gas. The guy accusing her was just looking at her as a Muslim. Her
cousin was so scared at that moment. She froze she came home crying and thinking
what if he had a gun. Would he of shot me just because of my religion? This and
many other things impact Roe. I saw people looking with disgust and question at
the both of us while shopping at Walmart. Many people don t go beyond the first
cover. Beyond the cover one will find the beginning of Roe s life. She was born in as
she says the whitest state ever North Dakota. She stayed in North Dakota until she
was thirteen years old. After her familymoved to Minnesota. She has spent her whole
life in the Midwest and therefore, she has many of the same values of Midwesterners.
She knows the importance of family, hard work, friends, and warm clothes and
7. Evolution Vs Artificial Selection
I would like to respectfully comment that when you say There is a reason that the
original genes did not allow it to survive, it implies that the naturally occurring
genetic information is consciously directing the survival of the organism. Evolution
is a natural process, and is not perfect. What occurs naturally is not necessarily
what is best for the organism. Genetic modification is not much different from
artificial selection, in which one chooses which organism or organisms are to
reproduce based upon one s desired traits of the offspring. Some common examples
are the domestication of a naturally occurring form of wheat to become the plump
corn we know today, and the breeding of wolves to become dogs. Humans were
doing this even before

If you re struggling financially and having trouble paying your mortgage, you may
find a field inspector knocking on your door. These inspectors verify that a home is
occupied after its owners miss a mortgage payment. If you re still living in your
home, the inspector won t perform an interior search. But if you ve left your home
behind, that inspector has the legal right to search inside your home to verify that
you have indeed left the property. You may also encounter a filed inspector after
filing a homeowners insurance claim.
The Inspector
If you ve fallen behind on your monthly mortgage payments and you haven t been
answering when your mortgage lender calls don t be surprised to see a field
inspector show up one day. Mortgage companies hire these professionals to verify
that you and your family haven t left your home. If the inspector determines that you
are still living in the home, he will contact your mortgage lender with this
information. Your lender can then either proceed with foreclosure evicting you and
your family from your home or try to work out a payment system that you can afford.
This latter option would keep you and your family in your home. If the inspector

If your loan is owned or guaranteed by Fannie Mae, the field inspector practice is far
more regulated. In 2011, Fannie Mae revised its rules. Now, mortgage servicers
working with Fannie Mae must order a property inspection within 45 days after
homeowners miss a mortgage payment. The servicer is required to order property
inspections every 30 days after this period until the homeowners pay up. Inspectors
are required in Fannie Mae cases to conduct an interior inspection once they confirm
that a home is abandoned.

10. Essay On Colonoscopy
The American College of Gastroenterology Guidelines recommend colonoscopy,as
the preferred cancer screening test for patients 50 years and older(Rex 2017). The
technique of Endoscopic Mucosal Resection (EMR) was developed for
removingsessile or flat lesions confined to the superficial layers (mucosa and
submucosa) of the gastrointestinal (GI) tract, including the colon, esophagus,
stomach, and duodenum. EMR with submucosal injection helps facilitate complete
resection of polyps (Hwang 2015; Fyock 2010; Steele 2013), which is critical, as
incomplete resections may contribute to the development of colon cancer in patients
despite being on a colonoscopyscreening/surveillance pathway (i.e. interval cancers).

(Hwang 2015). This is typically controlled by snare tip soft coagulation (STSC), a
technique involving protruding the snare tip 2 3 mm beyond the catheter, followed
by application of coagulating current while lightly touching the tip directly onto the
bleeding point. Vigorous irrigation with the foot pump clears the resection field of
blood and helps localize the bleeding vessel. In the minority of cases where STSC
does not achieve hemostasis, coagulating forceps or through the scope (TTS) clips
may be used, both of which have been associated with a low rate of re bleeding and
complications. (Ma 2016)
Delayed post polypectomy bleeding (DPPB) is rare after cold snare polypectomy
and is usually related to thermal injury following hot snare polypectomy, occurring
in 1 2% of patients with sessile polyps 20mm in size. The risk of DPPB is directly
related to polyp size (risk increases by 9% to 13% for every 1 mm in polyp
diameter), right colon lesions, pedunculated morphology, and polyp pathology. For
pedunculated polyps, the increased risk of DPPB is associated with a stalk
exceeding 5 mm, polyp head 20 mm in size, location in right colon, and the presence
of malignancy. Most DPPB cases can be managed endoscopically., In many cases
bleeding resolves spontaneously. Options for endoscopic hemostasis in the event of
active bleeding include forceps coagulation or endoclips. The method selected is
based on lesion location, endoscopist
11. Discourse of Sex and the Creation of Docile Bodies Essay
Discourse of Sex and the Creation of Docile Bodies Subjection is a process that
operates in society, and according to sociologist Michel Foucault, can be applied to a
multiplicity of discourses. Foucault explains that the beginning of the nineteenth
century marked the age of sexual repression and censorship, which became a time of
subjection through exerting disciplinary control over a docile population. In his The
Introduction to the History of Sexuality, Foucault explains how the scientification of
sex came about. Specifically, it was an attempt to obtain a uniform truth about sex.
However, there is no truth to it, but rather it is merely a vehicle for social control.
Foucault distinguishes the discourses of sexuality from the science of... Show more

Thus, the so called true discourses concerning sex were based on collective and
accepted societal thoughts, how people operated in the world, and what was said to
be true. Yet, the views on homosexuality, whether or not they were necessarily or
fundamentally true, were merely considered true discourse at the time. Therefore,
true discourse at any given time equates to power because when something is said to
be true, people tend to act as a collective group as if it is true. Foucault s theory holds
similarities to the Thomas theorem, which claims if men define situations as real,
they are real in their consequences (Thomas 1928:571). For example, when we
believe that students from low income families achieve less academically than those
from high income families, the school might devise and implement programs to assist
low income students in order to remedy the problem. Further, cigarettes provide
another example of the changes in true discourse because in the past smoking was
considered the height of sophistication and cosmopolitanism, but now the discourse
on smoking has become highly negative from both a health and social perspective. In
this way, what is considered true discourse can dramatically change over time,
resulting in fundamental changes in society.
12. The Trouble With Wilderness By Norton 533
William Cronon, The Trouble with Wilderness Norton 533
William Cronon s work on environmental philosophy The Trouble with Wilderness is
most perceptive work ever produced. It has thoughtful impacts for everyone who
revolves around the discussion of the environment.
The Cronon argues that individuals have to change the way of our thinking about
wilderness. Cronon s article Getting back to wrong nature or the trouble with
wilderness describes that the wilderness, as individuals see, has no direct relativity to
nature. He is of the opinion that people have excluded nature from their Western
Culture. The main idea of Cronon s text is that people can find a solution of their
environmental disturbance if they stop thinking of wilderness as a dualistic picture in
which the human is completely outside the nature (Cronon). The concept of
wilderness in people s mind was of an aggressive and horrifying desert.
The author argues the issues and troubles with wilderness by using the frontier and
sublime thoughts. The author argues that there are two primary thoughts that explain
this evolution: the sublime and the frontier. The sublime is about the idealistic origin
of a wonderful site that stimulates the inner reflexes. In his article, he wrote about
sublime landscape. In his opiniom, it is a place where one might meet devils and run
the risk of losing one s soul, but one might also meet God . This religious thought of
wilderness was an embryonic thought (Cronon).

Pollinators show no preference between Goldenrod Plants and Aster Plants regardless

Introduction
In this experiment, we observed the pollination of various plants by various
pollinators in the Binghamton University Nature Preserve. We collected data by
observing various plants by the pond trail area of the nature preserve and attempted to
explain why some plants were structurally more attractive to pollinators than other
plants. While observing a variety of plants, it became clear that the Goldenrod Plant
and the Aster plant were the most attractive. This conclusion was drawn because they
attracted the most pollinators. In fact, data collected of the other ... Show more

The Chicory was pollinated by a total of 18 pollinators (8 Wasps, 2 Bumble Bees, 8

As discussed before, in order to study the structural attractiveness of a plant it needed
to be considered significant or have at least 30 points of pollinator data. The above
bar graph displays the only two observed plants that had 30 points of pollinator
data over the course of the three days. The Goldenrod plant had 35 points of data
and the Aster plant had 42 points of data, making them both significant enough to
study further. Previous work by Koch classified both these plants as Composite
Flowers (1930). Given their similar internal structures, we would focus on a
difference in flower length, an external structure, to explain the differences in
pollinator visitations. Previous work by Gross Werner has shown the average flower
length of Goldenrod plants to be Вѕ of an inch (1983). Previous work by Harder has
shown the average flower length of Aster plants to be 2 inches (1985).

15. Violence in Sports
Unfortunately, violence has become a part of everyday life in our world. It can be
witnessed in many forms and of different proportions in numerous situations. Never,
under any circumstances is violence good. When one thinks of violence, thoughts
may arise of war, people committing violent acts against others, domestic violence
within families, and not to mention the abundance of television shows and movies
that are packed with sadistic, yet entertaining violence of all sorts. Over the past
couple of decades there has been an increased concern regarding the spread of
violence throughout our realm and in our homes. However, one area in which
violence has had such heavy influence is within sports. To analyze violence in sports,

Last season Todd Bertuzzi of the Vancouver Canucks dropped Colorado Avalanche
rookie Steve Moore from behind causing Moore to suffer three broken vertebrae in
his neck and a concussion. Some say that hockey actually made Bertuzzi do what
he did. Though Bertuzzi acted out of rage, it was really nothing more than what
hockey taught him and literally hundreds of thousands of kids to do over the past
fifty years. I have played hockey for well over half of my life and I know this to be
true; it is the nature of the sport. Violence is conditioned into all of us in different
ways and to different degrees. Those who say Hockey made Bertuzzi do it, do
have a point. It is the same in the streets and households across the country. If a
child is constantly faced with violence in their home, they will no doubt grow up
to be more violent than the child who did not experience such living. This goes for
anyone and in all areas of life. Violence is a vicious cycle and is very close to
impossible to stop or even cut down. The more one is conditioned to violence, the
more violent a person they will become.
How does one justify violence in the sports we have come to love? One of the most
interesting aspects of sports violence is that which is committed by the fan. Not only
is violence committed by athletes, but at times sport fans can get so caught up and
emotionally charged by rooting for their home team and things end up getting out of
hand. The best examples of this
16. The Importance Of Multiculturalism In The UK
Multiculturalism is the view that those cultures, ethnicities and races particularly of
minority should warrant distinct acknowledgment and support of their diverse
differences within a dominant culture. Ideology surrounding multiculturalism ranges
from the advocacy of equality to promoting the preservation of cultural diversity.
Policing in the UK has long been stigmatised with regards to racerelations.
Procedures for recruitment underwent two major transformations following on from
the Race Relations Act 1961; carried out in the 1980 s and early 2000s after official
inquires prompted by a botched police investigation into a racially motivated murder
in 1982. Historically, dominated by white males the UK force was criticised for its
sexist and racist culture. The disproportionate employment of ethnic minoritiesin
police and other public services came to light as a result of the publication of the
Macpherson Report 1999, into the inquiry following Stephen Lawrence s racist
murder. The duties of public authorities to prevent such discriminationwas reinforced
by the Race Relations Act 2000 as well as their obligation to promote equality and
healthy relations between different races. Following on from this, all 43 forces
between England and Wales were set varying quotas with regards to increasing
recruitment of officers from ethnic minorities. Throughout ...

In our Post Millennial era the Heavens are the home for satellites rather than angels

once God may have been a singular entity that designed the world in seven days, the
multi dimensional relationship between new and existing media technologies now

18. Motor Vehicle Accidents In The 1960 s
EMS originated from military medics helping wounded soldiers on the field during
the civil war, this migrated to the civilian world slowly and the first ambulance
was used in Cincinnati during 1865. Although there were some advances in the
EMS field in the late 1800 s 1920 s, after World War II, EMS saw an increase in
rescue squads, joint efforts with the fire stations and funeral homes as well as more
private ambulances. The spike however, came in the 1960 s, early on the science of
CPR was being outline, but the late 60 s is when the epidemic of motor vehicle
accidents made a huge difference in the field. Because there was such an increase in
trauma from these accidents it became apparent that there needed to be more

To start with, the synthesis of class I and class III phosphoinositide 3 kinase
inhibitors has become a much needed research process. Creating and modifying the
PI3K inhibitors through the addition and elimination of organic functional groups
or amino acids has allowed scientists to find the best way in attacking the
irregularities formed in the body. Plenty of class I PI3K inhibitors like those seen
in Figure 3 have been identified and modified for therapeutic means. For example,
GDC 0941 and BKM 120 are both inhibitors that are being considered as possible
clinical trial candidates [2]. Other inhibitors have also been developed for specific
PI3K isoforms which helps to highlight the usefulness of the PI3K pathways [2]. To

In the studies being done, scientists realized that the BKM 120 inhibitor not only
affects the PI3K/PKB/mTOR pathway, but the microtubule synthesis pathway, as
well [5]. This dual activity found in the BMK 120 inhibitor was due to the structure
of the inhibitor; Figure 5 illustrates how these two functions are possible (a) and what
the ratio of microtubule inhibition and PI3K inhibition are in the cell (b) [5]. Through
extensive studies on the BMK 120 inhibitor and other similar compound structures,
researchers, like Bohancker et al., have been able to identify key structural
components for the two activities. The Bohancker et al. found that additional nitrogen
in the core of the molecule could help remove the tubulin inhibition, as well as, less
symmetry in the BMK 120 overall structure [5]. In general, the research being done in
these two examples, and the many other inhibitor synthesis experiments, show how
the creation and modification of the phosphoinositide 3 kinases inhibitors is a huge
part PI3K studies. From these developments, scientists can get a better sense of how
the inhibitors will work in cells and treating diseases. Though the synthesis of
phosphoinositide 3 kinase inhibitors is necessary for advancements in this field,
research on how efficient and effective these inhibitors are is just as imperative.
Many assays have been developed to study the effectiveness of PI3Ks mainly through
the quantifying of kinase
20. Analysis Of Frankenstein And The Island Of Dr. Moreau....
Throughout history we have had times of innovation and creation, we have tried to
control nature and have succeeded in some aspects, however; humans are not truly
sovereign over nature, and we have never achieved a perfect creation. In both
Frankenstein by Mary Shelly, and The Island of Dr. Moreau by H.G Wells, man s
creation ends up destroying them which essentially symbolizes that man cannot truly
act as a godbecause he will surely fail in a catastrophic manner, almost as if man is
being punished for acting as a false god; it is also shown in both stories that the
creations that man makes are attempts to manipulate and master nature, and we see
that whenever man even slightly gives up his control it can lead to unforeseen,
almost cataclysmic consequences. These ideas are most clearly displayed by H.G
Wells in The Island of Dr.Moreau, because Moreau believes that he is above nature
and can control the wild instincts of the beast men, and he also displays himself as a
god to the beast men. In Frankensteinthese ideas are more implicitly shown. H.G
Wells does a better job overall of displaying these ideas In The Island Of Dr.
Moreau as it is more explicit when showcasing these ideas. One of the main ideas
that is common to both of the novels is that when man takes the role of a creator or
deity upon himself that he fails catastrophically, almost as if man is punished for
this. In The Island of Dr. Moreau, it is apparent that Moreau created the beast men so
he could rule
21. Genre Analysis Paper
Genre analysis is an attempt to explain why members of specific discourse
communities employ different and special ways of using language. Sociocultural
aspects of language and existing differences among the contexts in which a
language is used may, to some extent, answer this question. In addition, cognitive
strategies applied by the speakers or writers may also play a role since the members
of each language community use different strategies to achieve their desired goals
(Bhatia, 1996). According to a definition given by Martin (1985), genres are how
things get done, when language is used to accomplish them . As implicitly found in
this definition, any genre analysis must be a detailed description of linguistic
elementsof a specific... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Negative politeness, on the other hand, is shown when a person wants to avoid
intrusion, defer to someone by giving a superior form of address such as sir,
apologize for something wrong she has done.
Having the definition of politeness and the intended purpose of the study, the first
thing to be done is to examine the particular organization of the text, the use of a
particular vocabulary and the use of particular grammatical structure. That is to say
that the whole linguistic materials employed in this context, which altogether make
the rhetorical strategies of the context to fulfill the purpose of politeness, should also
be thoroughly examined.
The second thing to be investigated is to analyze the relationship between the sender
of the message and its receiver. Here in the current context, the lawyer or her client
(either of the accuser or the accused) is the sender of the message and the judge (or
the jury) is the receiver.
The kind of relationship between these individuals should also be defined.
Politeness is expected to be observed from inferiors to superiors and here the
receiver of the message has the authority and power to decide on behalf of the
receiver. Therefore, it can be expected here that the linguistic materials used by the
lawyers and her clients in the court reflect courtesy.
Regarding the situational context, it is observed that sender tries to influence the

The Ukiah Valley Groundwater Basin is comprised of seven water entities that
supply water to the region which includes the City of Ukiah, four water districts,
Rogina Water Co., and the Russian River Flood Control and Water Conservation
Improvement District. The following is a description of each water entity that is
responsible for providing the necessary water supplies for meeting majority of the
municipal and agricultural water demands in the region.
Calpella County Water District is the smallest water district in the area that provides
service to about 140 residential and 25 commercial connections (Agency). The water
supplied to the community of Calpella and the surrounding areas comes from a
groundwater well that has a capacity of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Redwood Valley County Water District has also obtained water throughout the
years from other sources. In the years from 2005 to 2010 surface water was
obtained through a contract with Sonoma County Water Agency and in 2015 in
order to meet domestic water demands groundwater from well 6, located near
Millview County Water District, was obtained. Through their own water right, up
to 4,900 AF/y of surface water maybe diverted from Lake Mendocino from
November 1 to April 30 when the flow at the confluence of the East Fork and West
Fork of the Russian River is above 150 cfs and the storage in Lake Mendocino is
greater than 72,000 AF (Agency). Essentially, Redwood Valley County Water District
has a relatively un exercisable water right.
Rogina Water Company is a private water company that provides water to a small
service area of about 990 connections (Agency). The water supply obtained stems
from a RRFC contract to purchase 400 AF/y of surface water while the rest of their
water supplies comes from their groundwater wells (Agency). However, the water
that may be pumped as groundwater may actually be underflow from the Russian
River.

Command Structure of Operation Anaconda In the simplest of terms, command
structures utilized during combat operations are commanded by one commander with
the resources and authority to plan and execute operations. Prior to Operation
Anaconda multiple dislocated command structures oversaw operations within the
same area of responsibility (AOR). During Operation Anaconda the lack of one
command structure with the authority over all assets and participants resulted in
fratricide, competition over assets, and other areas of inefficiencies and
ineffectiveness. Command Structure and locations before Operation Anaconda In the
infancy of Operation Enduring Freedom the command structure was dislocated,
lacked complete oversight, and had other responsibilities that stacked the deck
against them to be able to properly prepare for Operation Anaconda. General Franks

24. Cultural Background Of Hispanic Ethnicity
People of Hispanic origin have already made their presence felt in various fields of
human endeavor in the United States. Whether it is their involvement in politics,
corporate management or even sports, Hispanics have showed that they have what it
takes to perform at par with any other racial group. When it comes to the
involvement of a particular minority in any activity there are bound to be certain
issues. This paper will explore the themes of sporting identities to analyze the
experiences of Latino males in sport. An attempt will be made to understand the
barriers and prejudices that Latino males have had to encounter in the field of sports
in the United Statesof America.
Latinos have managed to make a profound impact in the field of American sports.
Their interest in sports helped them assimilate themselves into American mainstream
culture. They were also able to maintain their entire families ethnic identity at the
same time. Since they had limited economic opportunities and had to face racial
discrimination they were able to use sports as a refuge from the grim realities of the
society. They used the field of sports to negotiate racerelations, nationalism and
citizenship. Sport was an arena that they could use to learn how to behave according
to societal gender norms. Even for female athletes sports arenas provided the space to
achieve gender equality, something that could never be achieved outside the field of
sports (Alamillo, n.d).

Based on the complexity of Coach Inc. (Coach) inventory system and policy, I
identified potential risks that could affect Coach s productivity and carefully
chosen critical extended procedures to detect possible fraud and misstatement.
Analysis and overview of potential fraud risks related to Coach Inc. inventory
policy. Coach is exposed to (1) employee theft; if proper inventory controls and
segregation of duties are not correctly implemented, employees could steal items
after delivery to the warehouse, or may have goods delivered to a location that
would allow them to keep the items for personal use. (2) Fraud through falsified
records; if there is no purchase order authorization control in place, an employee
could create bogus purchase inventory orders to request payment from Coach and
keep the money for personal use. (3) Theft and financial fraud; if there is no
segregation of duties between the person in charge of receiving the customer s
payments and the employee updating the account receivable account, an employee (s)
in charge of accounts receivables could embezzle money by lapping customer
payments. Extended procedures to detect misstatement/theft of inventory and
financial fraud. To detect possible misstatement or theft of inventory, (1) I will
search for unrecorded liabilities by looking for open purchase orders, unmatched
vendor invoices and unmatched receiving reports. (2) I will investigate suspicious

A hero is an ordinary individual who finds the strength to persevere and endure in
spite of overwhelming obstacles (Reeve, Christopher). Every culture in country
across the world has their own ideals for what a proper hero should be. Most will
say a hero must have these core values compassion, bravery, strength, humility, and
integrity. However a person does not always have to possess they traits to be
considered a hero. An example of this is an epic hero, these heroes only exist in
stories and generally do not possess all of the normal hero qualities. No person
could ever be considered an epic hero, due to the complex requirements of one.

Most people when asked who their personnel hero is they name a family member.
This is because a parent s natural instinct is to protect their children and put their
needs first. This trait is not just in humans, in most species this is the case. The
reason of this being that the most common definition of a hero is someone who
puts others before themselves. Parents tend to do this without thinking twice about
it. Although parents aren t saving hundreds of lives they are still considered
heroes. Literally anyone can be a hero in today s society. A hero can simply be a
person that is strongly admired and looked up to.. Heroes are the everyday role
models of society. They create a path for others to follow and help them along the
way. Having an affect on another human being s life in any kind of positive way is
a beautiful thing and we as a society should cherish the people who help us become
all that we were meant to be.
Every person has a different image pop up in their head when they think about
what a hero is. With a vast amount of reasons for why someone should be qualified

What Makes Teams Work?
There are many different and liable responses to this question. Many argue against
the notion of teamwork in today s corporations. Others argue that top management
alone should control every aspect of operations. While few argue that lower level
employees should solely be responsible for decision making within their groups.
Throughout this paper I am going to express the opinions of different CEOs and
corporate leaders. Finally, I will express my own opinions about the positive and
negative aspects of teamwork. Ray Oglethorpe, president of AOL Technologies,

Sometimes this corrupt method works, but the problems occur when people begin
sensing the dishonesty and realize that they are being used. This creates a very bad
culture in the organization. On the contrary, the best companies have managers that
get their people to interact in creative ways. This helps prevent deconstructive
interactions and conversations among employees. A team needs guidance and
something that gives the conversation weight. All the members of a team need to feel
as if their say is important and that the conversation is interesting enough to get their
say. When these things work, companies don t have to manipulate the thoughts and
conversations of teams (referring back to organizational politics). The last approach
to viewing teams is that it is the leader who makes a team succeed. A good team
leader will create an environment in which people can practice and make mistakes
before they re pressured to produce. Furthermore, a good leader will allow the
individuals to manage their own behavior and will focus on the interactions between
people. Even though the team leader gives the team guidance, it is the team members
that own the outcome. Team leaders are there to bring intellectual, emotional, and
spiritual resources to the team. In conclusion, the environment around a team and the
culture of the company best develop it. Sometimes a team will strive without a
leader, while other times a team can squander time and

the grandfather and leader, Koro. Paikea is conditioned to think that something

When she was born, that s when things went wrong for us. This attitude affects
Paikea, since Koro is a father figure to her. Her dedication to the traditions of old
and the damaging attitude of her grandfather create cognitive dissonance in her
mind, confusing her and leading her to contemplate her purpose within her own

Once upon a time, a kind old fisherman lived with his daughter on an island. One
day, the Dragon King kidnapped the daughter and brought her to his palace. The
poor fisherman stood by the ocean calling out to the sea day by day, for years. It
made the Dragon King angry so he cast a spell on him causing the man to slowly
turn into a rock. After the daughter heard what the Dragon King had done, she
escaped the palace and ran towards her father who has now turned into a rock. The
ocean breeze blew the flowers in her hair onto the island, making plants grow.
When she is near Lao mountain, the Dragon King put a spell on her too and turned
her into a giant reef. From that day on, the father and daughter can only look at

A tropical cyclone is a force of Mother Nature that in most cases can leave towns
and cities extremely devastated from the destruction. Tropical Cyclones are storms
that spin in a clockwise direction and have low pressure midpoints. In order for a
Tropical Cyclone to form there are two main variables, the earth s revolution and
heat. As the ocean reaches at least 27В°C, the water then begins to evaporate creating
a storm cloud. The greatest factor being the rotation of the earth, forces the storm to
begin spinning and to move in a forward direction. The centre of the storm is called
The Eye ; this is where it is completely still. There is system in place to categorized

Tropical Cyclones have many secondary effects other than just winds. A major
secondary effect that impacts towns and cities is Storm Surge. A Storm Surge is
defined as a rising of the sea, which is a result of wind and atmospheric pressure
changes associated with a storm . This becomes dangerous when certain factors come

42. Edwin Hubble Limitations
It is not an experience unfamiliar to one of saturated mind to find oneself, stranded
at the 2 AM hour, paralyzed by fear for the reality of the insignificance of humanity
against an incomprehensibly massive universe. While it perhaps presents itself as
scary, the vastness of the universe lends its limitations to more than just our sense of
importance, but to our ability to study it as well.
First, it is important to distinguish that the size of the universe gives us a different
view of our sky than what may actually be happening in it. In 1929, Edwin Hubble
established a law that implies one of the more mind bending, Star Wars worthy
concepts of astronomical study: what we see is not only far, far away, but is also
long ago (http://hyperphysics.phy astr.gsu.edu/hbase/Astro/hubble.html (Links to an
