particular note, it is best understood as the culmination of a credit crunch that had
begun in the summer of 2006 and continued into 2007. The US housing market is
seen by many as the root cause of the financial crisis. Since the late 1990s, house
prices grew rapidly in response to a number of contributing factors including
persistently low interest rates, over generous lending and speculation. The bursting of
the housing bubble, in addition to simultaneous crashes in other asset bubbles,
triggered the credit crisis.
The policy response to the financial crisis in the United States and elsewhere has
largely been an attempt to rescue money manager capitalism. Moreover, in the case of
the United States the bailout policy has contributed to further concentration of the
financial sector, increasing dangers. We believe that the policies directed at saving
the system are doomed to fail and that alternative policies should be adopted. The

Music can produce many effects, mental and physical, in listeners and participants.
Cultures throughout history have recognized these effects and used music for
healing, productivity, and socialization. Currently different aspects that affect

suggested three perspectives one might use to analyze a major decision
(Nahavandi, Denhardt, Denhardt, Aristigueta, 2015). These three perspectives

Descriptive statistics can assist in proper presentation of data such that it can be
comprehended and analyzed by the user. For example, if we had the data about the
labor budgets of 200 companies, then that data would make no sense as it would
be difficult to comprehend. But if that data is classified industry wise, and
arranged, an average is calculated for the industry and for the labor budgets, and
then the interpretation would be more feasible. In this example, descriptive
statistics is extremely helpful because of the simplicity of how the data
information needs to be shown. Following I will briefly explain the two most
common types of statistics used to break down and describe data. The two types
are measures of central tendencies and measures of dispersion. Measures of
central tendency are measures which are at the central position of the frequency

Physical properties include but are not limited to color, shape, weight, smell, and
opacity. In the eyes of a dualist these states are completely different but a
physicalist would argue that they are equivalent. The argument that physical and

Gender Inequality In Kindred
In the novel, Kindred, Butler shows that race is not the only factor in the power
hierarchy between white men and black women in the story. Gender plays just as a
significant role in power than race. We, the readers, see how white women like
Margaret Weylin are seen as inferior to their husbands, who have a public presence
in society and can do as they please. In addition, society expects them to be nothing
more than wives and mothers. On the other hand, black women are constantly
victimized and treated inhumanly even till the present but in more subtle forms. This
is shown with the treatment of 20th century women like Dana who still seemed to
be undermined by white men like Kevin, who is shown to reinforce patriarchal
values through his treatment of her. Moreover, it is repeatedly shown in the novel
that 19th century black women were even more oppressed than their white
counterparts as they are deprived of their basic roles as mothers and wives and even
indiscriminately raped. Due to their gender and race, black women had their human
rights rescinded and were subject to even worse condition than black men. In the
novel, when Dana gets back to the present after being away from Rufus for fifteen
days, she recounts her horrific experience to Kevin. She states, You mean you could
forgive me for having been raped? (245). Dana is in a state of disbelief when Kevin

I believe that Alison Bechdel used this book as a platform to highlight the various
challenges and issues that some homosexual individuals among others in the LGBTQ
community face. She wanted to allow to the audience to empathise with this
community in a different light. In some cases, when people don t understand the
unfamiliar, the tend to fear it. So, with this book, people from a variety of
backgrounds might have discussed the underlying issues in the LGBTQ community
using her book. With this being the starting point, some individuals, such as myself,

She mentioned that her father was molested by a farm hand when he was young.
Even though her parents didn t act like a married couple, he trusted her enough to
tell that deep of a secret to her. I feel like she betrayed him even though he also
betrayed her multiple times. That is not a secret a mother should tell her children
about their father. However, it also seems like the mother was blaming the

Faulkner s tragic characters like Shakespeare s are those who have a more than a
passing conflict with negation and who believe that they should be able to act in
the world in such a way to emerge victorious from that conflict. We can see that the

Even so, in the novel, The Good Earth, when Wang Lung is thrown into penury, he

to my house for lunch.

It was less than fives miles away, and heading towards us. We ran as fast as we
could, but the tornado was moving faster. It felt hopeless. We could see the tornado
heading towards the safe house from the other side. We had to get our families out of
there safely. Then, the tornado struck the safe house, and demolished it completely.
The safe house was shattered into pieces. I felt a hand grab mine and pull me away
from the horrible sight.
We have to get away from here safely. We can come back and look for them later,
Tanya whispered urgently. I nodded, and together, we turned and raced away from
the tornado as fast as possible. There is a safe house a little away from my house.
Let s head there, Tanya replied.
We reached the safe house unscathed, and I slammed the door shut behind us. The
sound of our heavy breathing was followed by an uncomfortable silence.
They ll be fine, and so will we. They were in a safe house after all, and so are we.
Safe houses are built for keeping them safe from disasters like tornadoes, Tanya said.
I think you re forgetting one little detail. The safe house they were in was made of
wood! The one we re in is made of metal, I replied. She was about to reply when, we
heard a roar.
