1. Loyola Essay
Writing an essay on the topic of "Loyola" can present a unique set of challenges, primarily due to
the broad nature of the subject. Loyola encompasses various aspects, such as Loyola University,
Ignatian spirituality, and the historical significance of Saint Ignatius of Loyola. Crafting an essay
that effectively addresses these components while maintaining cohesion and depth can be a
daunting task.
Firstly, delving into the history and values associated with Loyola University requires extensive
research to ensure accuracy and relevance. Understanding the institution's mission, vision, and its
role in education demands a thorough exploration of academic and extracurricular offerings, as
well as its impact on students and the community.
Incorporating Ignatian spirituality into the essay adds another layer of complexity. It involves
exploring the philosophical and religious principles founded by Saint Ignatius of Loyola.
Articulating how these principles are integrated into the university's ethos and daily life can be
challenging, requiring a nuanced understanding of both theology and the practical application of
spiritual values.
Furthermore, striking the right balance between informative content and engaging prose is
crucial. The essay should not read like a dry academic paper but rather capture the reader's
interest from the beginning to the end. Achieving this balance demands strong writing skills, an
ability to weave a compelling narrative, and a keen sense of the audience's expectations.
In conclusion, writing an essay on the topic of "Loyola" demands a comprehensive
understanding of Loyola University, Ignatian spirituality, and their interconnections. Balancing
factual information, personal insights, and a captivating writing style requires a high level of skill
and effort. However, with dedication and careful planning, one can create a thoughtful and
impactful essay on this multifaceted subject.

2. Merchant of Venice Shylock Analysis Essay
Robert F. Kennedy stated, Each time a man stands up for an ideal, or acts to
improve the lot of others, or strikes out against injustice, he sends forth a tiny ripple
of hope... and crossing each other from a million different centers of energy and
daring those ripples build a current that can sweep down the mightiest walls of
oppression and resistance. In Shakespeare s Merchant of Venice, Shylockis the core of
all ripples. He lashed out against the prejudice that was thrust upon him and is
considered evil for doing so. The Merchant of Venicebrought together different
characters of different religions. Shakespeare used characters in this play to reflect
sixteenth century views on Christianity and Judaism. The character Shylock wass...

This duality of Shylock being portrayed with positive points as well as bad was
developed further at the end of act 1. Early on in the play Antonio described
Shylock as the Devil and stated, The devil can cite Scripture for his purpose (Act1
scene 3 line 107). The devil is described in the dictionary as, the supreme spirit of
evil and nowhere in the text or in Shylock s actions does it suggest this. Clear
resentment and tension was shared between Shylock and Antonio. In one of
Shylock s monologues he explained, I hate him for he is a Christian (Act 1 scene3
line 42). A contemporary audience during Shakespeare s time would have been
deeply offended at this attempt to degrade a Christian and this would have easily
made Shylock evil in their eyes. Due to Shylock s lower status in this scene he
spoke in prose, whereas Antonio spoke in verse. This showed the difference in
position between the two characters and the wide gap linking Judaism and
Christianity. Respect for Shylock may be less easily attained when he doesn t
offer any to Antonio. When the bond was made between Antonio and Shylock it is
easy to see how Shylock s character can be considered the devil as he binds Antonio
to contract, An equal pound/ of your fair flesh, to be cut off and taken (Act 1 scene
3 line 161). Requesting a pound of flesh was possibly a little too extravagant; it
suggested that he was capable of and willing to take a life. Making Shylock more a
butcher of animals than of

LAB 2 Basic Logic Gates and Circuit Simplification
OBJECTIVES:
4. The objective of this lab is to become familiar with digital design in order to derive
Boolean expressions that represent logic circuits and then simplifying these
expressions using the rules of Boolean Algebra. We will also verify the equivalency of
the original and simplified Boolean expressions by implementing the logic circuits
represented by each expression. Using Multisim, we will simulate the logic circuits
and create their truth tables for further Circuit Analysis.

Introduction:
In Today s era mostly all electronic devices use Binary Digital Logic Circuits. These
circuits consist of two possible outputs, mostly used terms are TRUE/FALSE , or
ONE/ZERO. Such an output is called a Binary Digit, or a bit. The
5. Current Practice Protocol For Pain Reassessment And...
Solution Description
A major part of the planning stage is the proposed solution for the implementation.
After the evidence is analyzed critically, a plan is developed to implement with the
help of a change model. Before implementing change, it is important to follow the
steps, which includes: analyze change, know the elements and the way to apply
change (Houser Oman, 2011).
Proposed Solution
The proposed solution is to bring about change in the current practice protocol for
pain reassessment and documentation. The plan of change is to:
Involve a Quality Improvement Team including an Advanced Practice Nurseto
provide education and improve clinical practice of pain management in the unit.
Additional introduction of a new flow sheet as a documentation table for
reassessment and documentation of pain.
Regular nursing rounds and discussion, one to one bedside coaching, and daily record
audits.
The method to achieve expected outcomes
At first, the plan is presented in front of the Quality Care Committee for review and
approval. Once granted by the committee, then it is presented in front of the nursing
director and managers for consideration. A change management toolkit is the best
options to use to well implement change. The several steps in the change process
include, finding out the details of change, that is the size and characteristics, the
expected outcomes of the new change, and its feasibility in terms of cost, resource,
readiness and risk involved (Queensland
6. Cause And Bad Effects Of Smoking
Smoking
We all know smoking is bad for us. But do you know exactly why? Smoking can
lead to cancer and cancer can lead to death. That can put a big effect on a loved one.
For the people that don t smoke, smoking affects them as well. Smoking is killing
society. Smoking is killing people slowly the ones who quick to light up a cigarette.
Second hand smoke affect society more than the person that s puffing the cigarette.
Smoking has people that don t smoke kick out money for the ones who smoke. It is
proven that the person who inhales the smoke coming out from the cigarette is
more affected than the one who smokes. Second hand smoke can cause you to get
sick than you might have to go to the doctor. You may not have Medicaid and
hospital bills can be sky high. When someone smokes a cigarette, most of the smoke
doesn t go into their lungs. It goes into the air, where anyone nearby can breathe it.
That s why some restaurants smoking is prohibited. Do you have kids at home?
Smoking around your kids increases their risk of developing ear infections, asthma,
and other breathing complications like coughs, shortness of breath. Every family
member in your household is at risk cause of second hand.
When working on a job even when you not puffing a cigarette your colleagues can
still be impacted. The smokers cost businesses an average $5,816 extra dollars each
year. Secondhand smoke contains over 7,000 chemicals. Hundreds of them are toxic
and 70 have been shown to cause cancer in
7. Wall-E versus Feed on Society
Technological progress has merely provided us with more efficient means for
going backwards ( Brainy Quotes 1). While this epitomizes modern time, it also
represents M.T. Anderson s Feed and Pixar s Wall E. Feed is a book about a
dystopian society influenced by a device, called feed , implanted in the brains of the
citizens. The author describes a group of regular teenagers that venture to the moon
for a spring break vacation of partying and going in mal . The main character, Titus,
falls for a girl named Violet who is not like the other stereotypical teens in this
book. Violet received the feed when she was much older and she is homeschooled
so her brain is more developed. Together, they go on outrageous adventures until a
hacker at a dance club causes them to lose their feeds. Unfortunately for Violet,
repairing her feed was practically impossible; meaning, Violet was slowly dying.
Together, Titus and Violet question society, feed, and the way of life as they create
their journey in the book, Feed. In Pixar s Wall E, the world has been abandoned by
all of humanity because of the over polluted atmosphere. However, one creature still
exists on earth, a garbage collecting robot named Wall E. One day, a futuristic, well
developed robot arrives on earth inspecting the earth of any species of life. Wall E
falls in love with the robot, Eve, and when she returns home on her spaceship, he
hops on and catches a ride to space. There, Eve and Wall E work together to save the
8. Mercury and Commercial Salmon
Commercial salmon is an important source of nutrition for humans in both urban
populations and aboriginal peoples. However, mercury contamination in salmonids
has been a rising concern not only for the health of humans but for the health of
wildlife and ecosystems that are affected by it. Mercury is distributed widely through
the environment through natural processes, but anthropogenic processes have been
increasing mercury concentrations in the environment to dangerous levels through
direct deposition in soil and through atmospheric deposition. In this essay, I will
review the processes in which mercury circulated through the ecosystems, how
salmonis affected by it, and how the consumption of salmon affects human health.
About Salmonids Salmonids is a group of species classified under the family
Salmonidae. Salmonidae consists of 5 genera and 14 species primarily residing in
the arctic. The family of salmonidae includes salmons, trouts, and chars. A few
species of salmonidae discussed in this essay include the sockeye salmon
(Oncorhynchus nerca), rainbow trout (Oncorhynchus mykiss), brown trout (Salmo
trutta), cutthroat trout (Oncorhynchus clarki), Chinook salmon (Oncorhynchus
tshawytscha), and Atlantic salmon (Salmo salar) (Farrell and Steffensen, 2005).
Overview of the Circulation of Mercury Inorganic mercury becomes deposited into
the atmosphere and soil by both natural processes and anthropogenic processes.
Natural processes include volcanic events, breakdown of

How to Drive a Dirt Bike
Have you ever wondered how people on dirtbikes keep their balance while going at
such fast speeds and riding in mud and dirt? Have you ever wondered if you would
be able to ride a dirt bike? You can learn how to dirt bike by used these four steps
kickstarting, clutch and shifting, riding, and braking. These four steps should help
you learn how to ride a dirt bike.
To start a dirt bike up you will need to know how to use the kickstarter and when to
use the choke. A choke is used to limit the amount of air that goes into the
carburetors while it is cold out. You are probably used to a car where you just need a
key to turn it on, while on a dirtbike you need to kickstart it for it to run. To kick start
you need to be in neutral and have the clutch in. To insure that you don t hurt yourself

A dirtbike can weigh between 150 pounds and 250 plus pounds so you will want to
learn how to control the bike so you don t get hurt. You may need to move your
body around to find your perfect balancing point for different kinds of riding. For
example some times you might need to stand up, sit down or lean side to side. If you
are stuck in mud you might need to shift your weight around to get out. With turning
there are two different ways to turn. The two ways are counter turning and using the
handlebars to turn. While going fast you should probably counter steer by leaning to
turn the bike because if you turned the handlebars to much you would probably have
a higher chance at crashing. While going slow you can use the handlebars to get

10. The Gender Pay For The Workforce Ever Since The Fair
Labor...
According to Kim (2015), there has been a great deal of change to the workforce
ever since the Fair Labor Standards Act of 1938 was enacted. Since this time, there
has been a huge influx of women entering into the job market, where there had not
been prior to the law. This meant that during the time of the laws creation there had
not been near the women receiving pay for their services like there were in the
years to follow. To help modernize this change amendments needed to be added and
this included the Equal Pay Act of 1963. This Act made it mandatory for employers
to offer equal pay to both menand women who perform equal work (Kim, 2015, p.
648). However, since this law has been created there has been an ongoing problem
with making sure it is being followed and still today there is a genderpay gap. The
American Association of University Women (2014), describe the gender pay gap
to be the difference in men s and women s average earnings. These differences are
typically stated as either an actual pay gap or an earnings ratio among men and
women. To calculate an earnings ratio, one needs to obtain the average wage
earned by women and divide that number by the average wage earned by men. To
see whether there is an actual pay gap, one needs to take the average wage earned
by men subtract the average wage earned by women and then divide that number by
the average wage earned by men. The Department of Laborin 2012 reported the pay
gap in average weekly earnings to be that

In one s life, there is that one place that is the more memorable than any other place
in the world. For the men and women who service their country, deploying would
be the most memorable place. Before the long, vigorous months in the closest
place to hell, these man and woman share the same place that of the ones who
have not deployed called boot camp. In the Marine Corps, recruits go through 13
weeks of physical and mental challenges aboard Marine Corps Recruit Depot
(MCRD). But through all 13 weeks of being push to the limits, every Marines who
came from San Diego MCRD could say the most memorable part of the depot
would be meeting the Drill Instructors, getting their meal from the chow hall, and
completing the final challenge as a recruit, the Reaper. The first Friday, also
known to all Marines as Black Friday, is one of most eerie experience a recruit will
go through while aboard MCRD. As the recruits enters the squad bay, the recruit
cannot help but notice the smell of shaving cream in the air, the cleanliness of the
area, and the rows of bunk beds, commonly known as a rack, on each side of the
room. As the recruits are rushed to drop the issued belongings in front of a rack, the
only thought that is going through the yet broken down minds is the fear of the
unknown. The unknown of who the drill instructors are going to be and the
challenges that lay ahead. Immediately after droping their belongings, they are seated
on the floor in front of the door, also known as a
12. How Does Charles Dickens Use Water In Great Expectations
Great Expectations is a Victorian Era novel written by Charles Dickens, and based
around a young boy named Pip who struggles internal with moral decisions, and
strives to better himself, and become a gentleman. Water is used throughout the book
to represent purity, but that s only on the outside. Taking the time to dig deeper it
becomes more apparent that water correlates less with purity or growth, and more
with fate. Jaggers washing his hand consistently throughout the book, the fight
between Compeyson and Magwitch near the end of the book, which took place in
water, and the tar water at the beginning. In Charles Dickenss Great Expectations, the
recurring imagery of water reveals the universal theme of regret and guilt throughout
the novel.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Without water guilt would have just been put right in front with no explanation. It
would have just been a bland excuse for a novel, with nothing special to it, but the
way Dickens includes it in his writing spectacularly really makes it stand out.
Water develops guilt and regret by constantly setting an undertone and always
having a deeper meaning no matter how for the tunnel goes. Even though it way
seem simple and one sided on the outside, it always goes deeper. Hours and hours
of research won t even put a dent in the topic, and it was written so intricately that
it will never end. Water isn t about purity or growth in this book, it means the exact
opposite, it s about pain and impurity, regret and guilt, and shame and
hopelessness. A Dictionary of Symbols states, Its predominant characteristics are:
(i) it fertilizes; (ii) it purifies... , which Dickens bounced off of these traits to make
you think about water in a completely different way. Jaggers has already muddied
the water he washes himself with, causing him to wallow in his own guilt,
Magwitch and Compeyson have lived their whole life surrounded by water and
guilt, and Pip s first true regret is embodied by water. This all proves that Dickens
knew what he was looking for from the first word on the
13. Conflict Between Male And Female Characters
Husband and wife may exchange roles but never escape the tyranny of roles
themselves. Theatrical narratives appear to promote the very ideology of difference
they expose as arbitrary. (B. Freedman)
In both tragedy and comedy, conflict between male and female characters can often
be found at the crux of the theatrical narrative. In plays that present on stage
opposition between men and women, it can be perceived that a typical set
narrative structure is followed: the actions performed by male characters incite
women to castoff the role of passivity and impose their presence on stage . As a
result of lapsing into a masculine mode of behaviour, the females traditional
archetype is then left to be fulfilled by the male characters. In comedy, such sexual
role reversals are found aplenty, emphasised and made comic by cross dressing
whilst in tragedy, it appears rarer. Furthermore, in tragedy the role reversal focuses
on the women s function as usurping the roles designated for male characters.
Euripides Medea and Aristophanes Women at Thesmophoria provide one with a
paradigm from each genre of how sexual role reversal can explore alternative
representations of gender and result in having a transgressive impact on dominating
gender ideology. Both playwrights present complex characters that conform to and
discard their traditional gender roles during the course of the play s narratives

14. Evaluation Of The Nursing Process
The Nursing Process The nursing process is a scientific process made up of five
steps to ensure that quality care is given by the nurse and received by the patient. It
requires identifying the most efficient means to generate optimum results. The steps
follow each other at the start of the process but may need to act in conjunction with
one another in some situations. The steps however do not end with evaluation but
begin again. It begins with assessment and including an evaluation of the perceptions
by the person, the person s family, and the nurse. This is where subjective and
objective data is gathered and recorded. It is a holistic assessment which covers the
patient s physiological, psychological, sociological, cultural and spiritual status.
Information is collected by the nurse interviewing the patient, giving a physical exam,
getting the patients health history and family history. For example, if a patient came
into the hospital after a fall at home the nurse would start by gathering information
that lead up to this point. The nurse would find out what the patients complications
are from the falls, the frequency of falls, cause of the fall, or are there underlying
causes. They would get medical history, family history, mental status, environment,
and medications. The nurse would do a head to toe assessment and from there would
begin diagnosing the patient appropriately. The second step is diagnosis; this is the
process of identifying problems. It is written as a
15. Advantages Of Biodegradable Polymers
Increasing fossil energy cost as well as decreasing availability of petroleum based
polymers; the researchers have been accelerated to search viable alternatives to
reduce the burden of ecosystem. To date, intensified research have been conducted
in biodegradable polymeric materials from natural resources in order to fulfil the
requirements set by environmental regulation to develop a more sustainable and
benign material [9, 5].Biodegradable polymers are obtained from natural resources
like cellulose, starch or by biological reaction of renewable based monomer and it
decompose into carbon dioxide and water molecules. Amongst the available
biopolymers, poly (lactic acid) (PLA) is one of the most fascinating biodegradable
polymeric materials and it has been used for many industrial applications ranging
from packaging to automobiles owing to its ultimate strength along with recyclability.

lignocellulosic fiber. These properties allow them to compete with synthetic ones and
it is expected to considerably lower the overall cost of materials [2]. Extensive
literature survey indicate that PLA reinforced with commercially available

16. Oedipus And Hamlet Essay
Oedipus Rex by Sophocles and Hamlet by Shakespeare contain the elements of a
tragedy. Both of the tragedies have strikingly different plots and characters. In
literature, tragedy is most likely about a person and the horrible things that happen
to them during their life in a play or story. There are many reasons why both of
these characters are classified as tragic figures. First, Oedipus fate was determined
from birth, and nobody knew Hamlets fate. Second, Oedipus s parents sent him off
to be killed, and Hamlet s father was killed by his brother, Claudius. The events in
the end are done by the protagonist in both plays. The downfall of this is caused by
Oedipus and Hamlet s inability to effectively cope with his own tragic flaw. These
plays have a major difference that Hamlet is a tragedyof inaction and Oedipus is a
tragedy of action. There are many other examples like, they had different traits and
motivation. Oedipus, achieved to killhis father to get his role as King, while Hamlet
wanted to kill his uncle because of this relationship he has with his mother, making
him feel traded and act out as revenge. They had a different tragic flaw. Oedipus
searched for who his real parents actually were, just to find out he married his
mother. In Hamlet, he always wondered why his father died, so he went to go see
his ghost. While there he found out that Claudius killed him. Lastly, they had a
different noble birth. Oedipus was born into a royal family, making him a king.
He is king by saving the city of Thebes. Oedipus earned the trust of his people, who
looked up to him. Hamlet was only the prince of Denmark, almost King. Both of
these plays are morbidly and fatally impulsive. Each of them begin their tragic flaw
with an unpremeditated murder. Hamlet s general impulsiveness plays a larger role
in Hamlet than it does Oedipus . They both quickly reasoned with themselves
without taking time to stop and think, but Hamlet relies on this method for mostly
all of his decision making. Hamlet realizes this when he says, Haste me to know t,
that I, with wings as swift As meditation or the thoughts of love, May sweep to my
revenge. (Page 1122), meaning that he acts too fast, and does not think until after the
act is

Learning in Leading Throughout my life I have been placed in many leadership
roles from a young age and have learned from each of these experiences. From
being a chairman of my elementary school s talent show all the way until I became
my high school s chapter of Mu Alpha Theta Vice President I have had roles of
ranging responsibilities and success. The leadershiprole that I learned the most from
was the one that I view to have been the least successful. In Mrs. Quale s history
class in eighth grade I was placed in charge of a learninggroup in which we would be
self teaching through planned activities and setting our own pace for the quarter. I
was purposefully placed in a group that needed help in the class because of both their
grades and their behavior in and outside of class. I went into this role and assignment
with a bad attitude and did not place any trust in the people working with me, making
the project toxic from the beginning. As a result, I learned the detrimental effects of
leading without stewardship, failing to encourage group synergy, and... Show more

At the time I was very young and was not as concerned with effective leadership
and helping others as I am today. Later in life I learned to be a directive leader who
is able to inspire stewardship rather than degrading my coworkers by delegating
everything and being overcontrolling. I also learned the importance of synergy and
how the characteristics of a team, good or bad, are initiated first by the leader.
Seeing how to look forward into possible future outcomes and learning to prioritize
was a skill I developed on to become a better leader as well. Looking back on this
previous experience I realize that I have grown a great deal as a leader and have
farther to grow still. I made many errors at that time but I see now that after that
point I made conscious changes and changed to become the leader I am
18. The Nickel Electrode Batteries Are Vulnerable
The nickel electrode batteries are vulnerable to both reversible and irreversible
degradation. The reversible degradation forms can be rectified by fully discharging
the cell and then recharging it. The irreversible forms of degradation vary depending
on the types of electrodes and the application of the battery. However, the irreversible
forms of degradation are majorly linked to the number and depth of the discharge
/recharge cycles and the operation temperatures. The primary causes of irreversible
degradation include the decomposition of the organic material into the electrolyte,
corrosion of the nickel electrode, dendrite formation on the surface of the negative
electrolyte, electrode poisoning, and the failure of the gas barrier. Additionally, the
nickel electrode batteries are vulnerable to thermal runaway, which can be described
as a vicious cycle caused by heating and augmented discharge and voltage. The
batteries are also susceptible to gassing, which can lead to the buildup of pressure in
the cell that may lead to permanent battery damage. The batteries are also engrossed
by a number of safety and environmental concerns because they are manufactured
using an extremely toxic metal cadmium. However, the concerns have been lessened
through regulation, keen monitoring during manufacturing, and elevated recycling
efficiencies. Currently, there are three major categories of the nickel cadmium and
nickel iron batteries; namely, vented sintered plate, pocket plate,

Linnaeus...
In the 18th century physician and botanist Linnaeus instituted a taxonomic system.
The Linnaean system helps interpret evolutionary history; he has done so by placing
species into categories that are in order of hierarchy. The order is as follows
Kingdom, Phylum, Class, Order, Family, Genus and Species.
Although with biologists learning to understand the system, another category was
added known as Domain this was categorized above Kingdom. This is because
biologists recognized the differences between eukaryotes and prokaryotes, which
were once part of the five kingdoms alongside plantar, animalia and fungi. However
having them part of the Kingdom category proved to be difficult. Thus the inclusion
of three domains occurred bacteria, archaea and eukarya. The domain bacteria
consists of commonly known prokaryotes, whereas the domain archaea too contains
prokaryotes but the can inhabit a range of environments. The domain eukarya consists
of groups of single celled organisms as well as plants, fungi and animals (multicellular
organisms).
Prokaryotes have existed from 3.5 billion years ago when they became one of the
first organisms to inhabit Earth. Prokaryotic cells are unicellular cells and are
typically smaller than eukaryotic cells. They reproduce through binary fission.
Prokaryotic cells have a range of shapes spherical, rod shaped and spiral. Its key
feature is the cell wall, which allows strength to protect and prevent the cell from
bursting or shrinking; it s

Fanon Black Skin White Masks Black Skin and Hegel Self Consciousness
In this experience self consciousness learns that life is essential to it as pure self
consciousness. One (self consciousness) is self sufficient; for it, its essence is being
for itself. The other is non self sufficient, for it, life, that is, being for an other, is the
essence. The former is the master, the latter is the servant (Hegel 189). Hegel
suggests in the dialectic that there is coherence between subject and object, concrete
and abstract, part and whole, and for the purpose of dialectic, master and slave.
Hegel believes that master is a consciousness. The ... Show more content on

If the standpoint of consciousness, which is to say, the standpoint of knowing
objective things to be opposed to itself and knowing itself to be opposed to them,

with itself is where it counts to an even greater degree at the loss of spirit (Hegel
26). Domination has a central role to play according to Hegel s master slave
dialectic description of specific relations among humans. Domination results from
the urge to be recognized in life midst as well as death struggle. Fanon took Hegel s
master slave dialectic in his critique of colonialism and West. Fanon states that
dialectic is relevant and crucial to human relations among the colonies. Fanon critique
focuses on dialectic based on violence and racism.
Hegel s Self Consciousness: Master and Slave
Hegel s Phenomenology of Spirit (1807) provides master slave dialectic that
reflects his ideas on history course up to when he was writing his work. Hegel s
dialectic takes an analysis form of self consciousness and its working. This pure
concept of recognition, that is, the pure concept of the doubling of self
consciousness in its unity, is itself now up for examination in terms of how its
process appears for self consciousness (Hegel 185). Hegel describes way in which self
can become conscious of itself by presence and recognition of itself by an other.
Hegel s exposition reveals how the process of
23. Linked Genetics
Genes located on the same chromosome are linked. They can become unlinked, or
separated, in crossing over with the frequency of separation being higher the further
apart the genes are on the chromosome. The relationship between the frequency of
genes separation due to crossing over and the distance between genes is inversely
proportional. That is the further the genes are away from each other the more likely
they will cross over. The frequency of crossing over, also known as the recombinant
frequency, is directly related to the distance between genes, because the farther apart
two genes are, the more likely a crossover is to form somewhere between them.
Geneticists can utilize this to map chromosomes by doing test crosses for linked
genes.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
That s to say, if A B and C are near each, it s unlikely that a recombination event will
take place between them, and it s an order of magnitude even more unlikely that
two recombination events will take place. Most people are triple dominant, A B C, or
triple recessive, A B C . However, sometimes people are A B C or A B C . But
virtually no one is A B C. So to get the A B C genotype, there would have to be two
recombination events. One between A and B and another between B and C. To get
A B C and A B C you only need one recombination event. Between B and C or A and

Encouraging...
One of the definitions of Physical Education is; regular instruction in physical
exercise and games in schools and other institutions (Oxford English Dictionary). It
is compulsory in the UK for every child up to the age of 16. Physical Education has
been adapted immensely to fit the needs of young people and is still continuing to
change. There are an increasing number of young people leading sedentary lifestyles
by watching television instead of doing physical activity (British Heart Foundation,
2012). In this essay, ideas have been challenged and there is a distinct argument about
the impact that PE can have on encouraging young people to engage in physical
activity.

From 1992 until 2008, the different forms of the National Curriculum for Physical
Education have been focused around the notion of Sport and Performance. There
was a strong emphasis on competition and finding elite performers which may not
be an ideal approach. Many children dislike the competitive element of sport and
would rather take part for personal or social reasons. This wouldn t encourage
young people to sustain physical activity levels as they may not want to compete
and have only seen physical activity in a competitive light. In 2008, the new
National Curriculum was launched and its priority was given to health and
physical activity rather than sport. This reduced the amount of competitive elements
and made it more about taking part. Some would say that the 4th NCPE was seen as
successful as in 2007, 17% of boys and 16% of girls aged 2 15 were classified as
obese and this decreased as in 2009, 16% of boys and 15% of girls aged 2 15 were
seen as obese (Statistics on Obesity, Physical Activity and Diet England, 2009 and
2011). This slight decrease could be down to the change in the type of activities
offered in school although it may not be the only factor. Giving young people the
opportunity to set personal goals rather than basing everything around competition
would promote life long participation in physical activity as they will get a sense of
achievement from completing that specific goal. However, this focus on health and

Throughout time there has been people who for some reason or another cannot get
along, Thomas Morton and William Bradford are no different. Thomas Morton s
and William Bradford s had a contentious relationship fueled their narratives New
English Cannon and Of Plymouth Plantation. Both Morton and Bradford attempt
to soil the other s name by writing about their contradictory experiences with each
other. But who comes out of this situation the true hero, Morton or Bradford?
William Bradford s emotional outbursts and irrational thinking regarding Thomas
Morton overshadows any good he has done in Plymouth, making William
Bradford the anti colonial hero. William Bradford s main reasoning for his settling
in America is to create a separatist utopia, freeing himself and members of his
church from disgraceful behavior and British control. Meeting Morton rehashes old
feelings of contempt in Bradford casing an influx of bad feelings. Bradford
describes Morton as the Lord of Misrule (204) and accuses Morton of maintaining a
school of Atheism (205). By stating the latter Bradford unknowingly damages his
reputation therefore losing all respectability and credence. So, when Morton states
because Mine Host was a man that endeavored to advance the dignity of the Church
of England; which they would labor to vilify with uncivil terms, inveighing against
the sacred Book of Common Prayer, and Mine Host that used it in a laudable manner

Sympathy Gift Etiquette
When someone close to you loses a friend or family member, it can be difficult to
know the best way to offer support. Many questions come up: how can we help?
What should we do?
Many people traditionally send flowers, plants, and fruit baskets. This is thoughtful
and shows you care. On the other hand, when my sister experienced a death in her
family last year, she became overwhelmed with what to do with all of the flowers
that came to the house in the first couple of days, and then a week later the flowers
were dead and she felt so lonely. Like I said, when someone dies, normal things can
become very difficult, often in unexpected ways.
So what is the appropriate etiquette for gift giving for sympathy and funeral
occasions? You want to be... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Send yourself. Be present. It is easier to see what the needs are when you yourself are
physically sharing the hard moments with the bereaved.
2. If you can t be there yourself, this is when flowers, cards, plants, and baskets
become more meaningful. Again, remember that flowers die quickly, and the
bereaved will have to throw them away. Potted plants usually work better they
require little maintenance, last a long time and symbolize hope and peace (Peace
Lilies for example).
3. Make a donation in the name of the departed. In my sister s case, when her son
died, we ended up making a donation to a nonprofit that collects the playful drawings
of school children and delivers them to the elderly, shut in, and infirm. We did this to
try to share the love he brought into the world with others less fortunate, even though
he was gone.
4. Give the family a permanent keepsake something with the departed s initials, a
favorite saying of theirs, a shadowbox of their most precious belongings, or special
photos. For Christmas the year after my nephew died, my aunt gave the family a toy
train in which each car of the train was a letter of his name. This was very
meaningful and the kind of thing that lasts
27. Difference Between Phonology And Phonemic Awareness
The terms phonological awareness and phonemic awareness are used interchangeably
.Phonological awareness represents a range of manipulation and detection skills
across different sizes of sound pieces. Phonemic awareness, however, specifically
refers to the ability to manipulate and detect the smallest sound pieces in words (the
phonemes). It refers to the ability to manipulate the phonemic structure of an
utterance independently from its meaning. It is the awareness that words are
composed of smaller units, that alliteration is when words begin with the same sound
segment, and that rhyming is caused by words ending with the same sound segment.
Therefore, it refers to the auditory task of identifying, distinguishing between, and
working with an utterance at the level of larger units such as words, and syllables,
or at the level of smaller units, such as phonemes. It also includes awareness of
speech sounds at all levels including word, syllable, onset rime or phoneme.
Phonemic awareness is an advanced stage of phonological awareness, defined as the
ability to recognize that a spoken word consists of a sequence of phonemes. It is the
capacity to isolate word segments, such as... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Phonemic awareness is an understanding of spoken language. Phonological awareness
entails understanding of spoken language and involves tasks such as rhyming words;
comparing initial sounds; determining the number of phonemes in a word;
identifying two sections in a compound word and separating syllables. Phonemic
awareness includes tasks of individual phonemes or within words such as blending,
deleting, substituting and moving. Townend (2000) clarifies that phonological
awareness is the accurate perception of all the individual sounds, or phonemes, within
a spoken word. It also includes the perception of relationships between sounds, such

The Pianist s Depictions of Historical Events
The Warsaw ghetto uprising fighters was formed when Jews in Poland learned that
the Germans main plan was to eradicate the Jews completely. Before the Jews learned
about the plan of Nazis, they did not carried out acts resistance against their enemies.
The driving force that started this resistance was that if Nazi plan was to destroy the
ghetto, resisting these perpetrators was not an option to the Jews but a survival
mechanism. Einwohner states that
the coalitions of Jewish activists in the Warsaw Ghetto used a small arsenal of
smuggled weapons and homemade explosives to resist the Nazis attempts to deport
them to the death camp Treblinka.
The evidences demonstrated in Polanski s film contradict this statement; that is, the
Warsaw ghetto fighters came into existence because they wanted to defeat Nazi
German. With the little weapons that the ghetto fighters had, the supposition depicted
in the film that they wanted to fight off the Germans in order to defeat them can
easily to refuted. The ghetto uprising also inspired many uprisings to occur in places
outside of Poland where Jews are imprisoned or held. However, by the film was
unable was again to illustrate that.
According to KieЕјun (2006, p. 41) states that the animosity of Nazi Germans was

29. Media s Impact On Society And The Individual
Despite there being numerous sources and names for media and information, large
conglomerate companies have emerged over the last several decades that own a
majority of media outlets in the United States and throughout the world. These
conglomerates operate in an assortment of business opportunities. The big six as they
are commonly referred, own up to 90% of the American mediamarket share (Lutz),
and that number is growing. The big six companies include G.E., News Corporation,
Disney, Viacom, Time Warner, and CBS. To demonstrate this growth of
consolidation, that same 90% of the American media was owned by fifty independent
companies in 1983 (Lutz). These figures are outstanding, as they relate and intersect
with Stuart Hall s idea of... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
For example, the conglomerate Comcast corporation is a cable television provider,
internet service provider, phone service provider, the owner of various broadcast
stations like NBC and the Spanish network Telemundo, the owner of film networks
like Universal pictures, and the owner of internet sites like Hulu and Fandango.
Comcast even owns the Universal Studios theme parks and a professional hockey
team, the Philadelphia Flyers. This is just a short list of the various businesses and
services that a conglomerate, like Comcast, may own. As of 2017, Comcast reported
a whopping $146 billion dollar market cap (Selyukh). By further understanding these
motives, one is able to realize the role that media plays in their daily lives and the
influence that they may have that extends outside the television broadcast.
The power that these conglomerates hold may cause given information and facts to
be distorted, possibly in order to better benefit themselves and their own corporate
interests. This information highlights Hall s ideal of how knowledge and power
intersect. Hall brings up the idea of how there is this Gap of representation, a
figurative gap between the actual facts and how the media represent it (Hall). This
gap between representation and the true facts must be measured by the individual,
when he or she may think something is reported inaccurately or in a biased
mannered. In order to understand this gap that may be presented by
30. The Daffodils Comparison
Two poems that share or have a similar meaning are quot; The Daffodils quot; written
by William
Wordsworth and quot;Miracle on St David #39;s Day quot; written by Gillian Clarke.
Both writers wrote their poems in different times but share a very similar meaning.
The poem quot; The Daffodils quot; inspired
quot;Miracle on St David #39;s Day quot; that William Wordsworthwrote creates a
unique situation, which occurs in Clarke #39;s poem. William Wordsworth had never
seen the daffodils in which he wrote about in his poem. Although with a unique
imagination and a few details that he has, William
Wordsworth could use the details and create it into a special and unique poem
which sets for a beautiful scenery. Which allows the reader to participate and feel
the true beauty of the scene. In the poem, a conflict presents itself in the beginning
of the poem, when he uses such specific words that are very contradictory with other
parts of the poem such as when he describes not being so alone, but with other people
in the other parts of the poem.
The beginning of the first poem focuses on the writer #39;s use of a strong
imagination to create a multitude and vivid set of pictures that you can imagine
yourself. The happiness he gains from creating these images in his mind, fulfill him
up with even more happiness and joy.
Likewise, Clarke #39;s experience is very similar in that it s also heartwarming and
joyful, it involves many people just like William s poem. In the poem, the daffodils
by William s technique is to reconstruct an imaginary trip in which he flies above the
countryside. Showing the good side of
Garcia 2 things and the good side of his mood. He describes the location of the
daffodils and identifies them by quoting something he distinctly remembers. Their
beauty not only affects him and his emotions but also the rest of the environment
around him. He also comments on the huge ability that these daffodils have raised
the human spirits, and in parts of the poem he makes it very obvious that he has been
completely unaware of the huge impact the daffodils would have had on him and
how William, in the future would continuously visit this imaginary scene he has
created for himself and learn from it. William

Today Australia is one of the most ethnically diverse societies in the world. Almost
one in every four Australian residents was born outside of the Australian boarders and
many more are first or even second generation Australians. These children and
grandchildren would have recently arrived as migrants or refugees, But in the
ninetieth and twentieth century, Migration was not accepted the same way. Australia
had various laws that aimed to keep people who were from non european
backgrounds out of the country. These laws also restricted the lives of people who
were not white and were already currently living in Australia. The ImmigrationAct
1909 most popularly known as the White Australia Policy which caused upset within
Australia s international relationships with Britain and Japan. This caused other
nations to criticise Australia s racial views and eventually immigration restrictions
were gradually loosened and Australian s began to be less fearful of people from a
wide range of different countries and backgrounds. The big push for the Immigration
Act 1901 in the first place was due to Australia s fear of Asian migration and
population take over.
The White Australia Policy was an immigration policy perused in Australia between
1901 and the late 1960 s to exclude non European migrants. In the 1850 s large
numbers of gold seekers came from South China to try their luck in Victoria,
Australia. By 1861, the Chinese community had taken up 7% of the Victorian

He was also regarded for his status as a dickhead and his wayward nature was
admirable, traits we would assume to be of negative connotation (Andre and
Barker 24). This can then be contrasted with less masculine characters, such as
Ricky, who displays characteristics that the participants find undesirable in men.
Ricky is regarded as loser because of the nature of his relationships. He allows
himself to be pushed around by his girlfriend and is treated as a subordinate by her
friends (Andre and Barker 24).
Female characters were also used to stimulate discussion about what participants
perceive as socially acceptable within gendered identity. East Enders character
Natalie was described by female participants using derogatory terminology, such as
a right slag and a bit of a cow due to her assertive and pushy nature, and confidence
in her sexuality (Andre and Barker 26). Similar terms were given to the character
Bianca, who was labelled trashy and tarty due to her promiscuous nature and
licentious attire. (Andre and Barker 26) While these judgements may be regarded
as sexist, as waywardness and promiscuity are valued in men and rejected in
women, the discussions do not always enforce traditional gender roles. One
participant criticised Helen, a character from Neighbours for her commitment to
domesticity all Helen does it sit there baking casseroles, giving advice (Andre and

There are no compelling results to prove or disprove that PowerPoint is more
effective for learner retention than traditional presentation methods.[9] The effect on
audiences of poor PowerPoint presentations has been described as PowerPoint hell.
[edit]Criticism
Although PowerPoint has the aforementioned benefits, some argue that PowerPoint
has negatively impacted society. The terms Death by PowerPoint and PowerPoint
Hell refer to the poor use of the software. Many large companies and branches of the
government use PowerPoint as a way to brief employees on important issues that they
must make decisions about. Opponents of PowerPoint argue that reducing complex
issues to bulleted points is detrimental to the decision making process; in other words,
because the amount of information in a presentation must be condensed, viewing a
PowerPoint presentation does not give one enough detailed information to make a
truly informed decision.
A frequently cited example is Edward Tufte s analysis of PowerPoint slides prepared
for briefing NASA officials concerning possible damage to the Space Shuttle
Columbia during its final launch.[10] Tufte argues that the slides, prepared by the
Boeing Corporation, had the effect of oversimplifying the situation, and provided
false assurance that the ultimately fatal damage to the shuttle was only minimal.

golden age of piracy many things come to mind. From buried treasure, sword fighting,
stealing loot and drinking rum, the golden age of piracy is one of the most exciting
elements of the restoration period. Along with those elements there were many
famous pirates that highlighted the restoration. Although there were many famous
pirates of the restoration period one name usually comes to mind, Blackbeard. His
iconic image has shaped the way that the world has viewed the history of pirates.
From hollywood movies to video games, his fearsome personality and ruthless
behavior has made a huge impact on popular culture. Although some believe that
Blackbeard was greatly romanticised after his death, Blackbeard was the most feared
pirate of the restoration period because he instilled fear in the hearts of people who

image to establish his reputation as the most iconic pirate of the restoration.
The golden age of piracy began in the 1650s and extended all the way through the

Many stories of the Arthurian legend contain some reference to Merlin, as either a
wizard or a prophet. As a magician, Merlin performed feats such as the moving of
Stonehenge, the disguising of Uther Pendragon, and the crowning of King Arthur by
the use of the sword in the stone (Fletcher 25). As a prophet, Merlin told of the defeat
of the Saxons, the death of Arthur, and the one who found the Holy Grail.
Almost everyone knows the story The Sword in the Stone by T.H. White wherein
Merlin instructed Arthur in his life as king, but what most don t know is that
Merlin was, in legend, the son of a devil. An incubus came and bedded with Merlin
s mother so that she would bear his child (Ackerman 168). One story that shows the
significance of this union is Geoffrey of Monmouth s Historia regum Britannae. In
this book there is a section that tells the tale of Vortigern and Ambrosius. Vortigern,
the King of Britain at the time, wants to build a new retreat, but every night the
foundation is destroyed. Vortigern s wise men tell him he must sprinkle the spot
with the blood of a child born fatherless. After a long and tedious search, Ambrosius
is found and brought before Vortigern. Ambrosius tells the King not to slay him but
to dig in the spot for two vases. Those digging found these two vases and inside were
two tents. Inside the two tents were a red dragon and a white dragon. These creatures

Stein and Stryker respond to two important challenges within the field: Stein
responds to the struggle of finding a methodology of historiography that allows for a
distinction to be drawn between popular conceptions and lived experiences of sex,
gender, sexuality, love, marriage and family, while Stryker unravels the complexity of
the register of the discourse, specifically when defining the taxonomies of gender, sex

The former is significant because given that sexuality and sex were considered to be
parts of the private sphere of the lives of individuals, it is hard to find reliable,
primary sources on which to base a historical timeline on. In addition, finding sources

So it is easy to conclude that china s economic markets are sluggish and weak, for
these reasons, China should adopt this monetary strategy to deal with these series of
problems, and keeping the healthy and steady growth in economic markets. On the
other hand, China wanted to increase the monetary (Yuan) liquidity, further, wanted
Yuan to become international reserve currency. Broadly speaking, China hoped to
consolidate its central position in the global economic markets. In conclusion, pulling
the healthy and steady growth internally and pushing Chinese monetary (Yuan)

drove China to devalue Yuan.
In the short term, this depreciation action will bring varying degree of positive and

positive postfeminist and negative feminist analyses. Mulvey (1975) propositioned
the Male gaze theory, whereby the majority of films are made for male viewers, in
which women are situated as passive objects for male visual consumption. Brooks
(1997) argues this is still the case in mass culture and the arts, where women are
objectified as sexual objects, which exposes society to negative role models.
Postfeminist theory (Hermes 1995, Geraghty 1991) and in particular, within the study
of popular culture, argues that the interpretation of cultural texts varies person to
person, and consumers understand most texts to be fictitious and are used as tools of
escapism from everyday life.
This proposed research is situated between the paradigm of feminist content analysis
and the film industry audience statistics. Through the synthesis of two approaches it
will attempt to address a deficit in existing research in understanding widespread
responses and generalised attitudes towards gender representation in film. To
investigate reactions to only one or two texts is insufficient because each film does
not exist in isolation and society is saturated in popular culture which users select
from across types and genres. Methodology
This research will attempt to quantify the opinion and responses of women in
response to gender representation of women in cinema films. This will be done
through operationalising the
42. Harley-Davidson Case Essay
Harley Davidson Mini Case
Question 1 The international business environment that Harley Davidson faces
includes several challenges and obstacles. These challenges include trying to increase
sales in nations that already offer well known brands of motorcycles at cheaper costs.
Besides having to compete with local brands, in places such as Europe each specific
country may have different preferences on styling, size, and the type of performance.
Other obstacles include high tariffs in some emerging markets, potential for piracy
and counterfeiting of designs, environmental and regulatory sanctions due to high
greenhouse gas emissions, and the need lower carbon footprint standards. Should
Harley attempt to increase its international ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

With respect to Europe Harley could expand the presence of its HOG club as well
as begin to offer lines of motorcycles geared toward European tastes that are lighter
weight, smaller, and faster. They have already shown signs of doing this with the
purchase MV Augusta Group in 2008. For the nation of Japan Harley can expand its
local distribution network and subsidiary. An introduction of the HOG club there may
also boost interest in the brand. The company can also focus on cutting production
costs and offering their motorcycles at lower prices to compete with the local
Japanese brands that are considerably cheaper. It would also be wise for Harley to
maintain its path of lowering its greenhouse gas emissions and carbon footprint to
appease the Japanese government and to appeal to the Japanese public.
Question 4 Harley can compete against firms such as Lifan and Zongshen in a few
ways. In one regard Harley can stick to its core business of heavyweight bikes and
attempt to rely on its brand name and history to attract customers. These bikes
would be more expensive and Harley probably would not make large gains within
these markets. Simultaneously Harley could also attempt to open local assembly
plants, distribution networks, and subsidiaries to utilize the same low cost labor as
their emerging competitors. As they did in Europe, Harley could also purchase one
of these competitors to adhere to the tastes of the local market. Harley should look
44. A View of Vivaldi’s Concerto for Two Violins
Antonio Vivaldi is a famous Italian baroque composer, known by most Suzuki violin
students who study his concertos or by audiences everywhere who have heard and
love his composition of the Four Seasons. Having grown up as students of the
Suzuki Violin Method, we recognize this composer and have experience performing
his pieces. In addition to his many concertos written for solo violin, Vivaldi composed
many concertos intended to be performed by two solo violins, accompanied by a
small orchestra. Because we are both violinists, we chose to analyze the second
movement of Vivaldi s Concerto for Two Violins in A minor, RV 522, included in
his L Estro Armonico works. According to Michael Talbot, of Grove Music, as well
as the liner notes... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This concerto is made up of three movements, with the second movement entitled
Larghetto e spiritoso in between two Allegro movements. Originally intended for
two solo violins, violin I, violin II, viola, cello, and bass, this piece has been
transposed in various forms and is now commonly performed with two solo violins
and piano. While the other two movements are lively and exciting, the second
movement provides a great contrast. It is in a different key and has a completely
different feeling, one of heaviness and melancholy, though its chord progressions and
harmonies make it appealing to audiences. This composition in its entirety gained
Vivaldi his greatest popularity as it spread throughout Europe and became a standard
for 18th century composers. In his compositions, as with this work, Vivaldi often
borrowed chord patterns and structure from his other pieces. Unlike the other
movements, which are in A minor, the second movement changes key to D minor. In
this way there is a modulation between movements, however, within the movement
there are no modulations. There are several variant qualities of the leading tone and
dominant triads; both normally appearing in the same measure throughout the piece.
Examples of these variant qualities are in measures 2, 6, and 10. Interestingly, several
times throughout the piece, the violin will play a C# against a variant quality
dominant triad in the piano. An example of this is in measure 10. In the

According to the article Millions Commit Food Stamp Fraud Every Year, Food
stamps represent one of the fastest growing federal programs in the U.S., 46
million Americans now receive assistance, but, it s a program ripe for abuse (Volk,
2012). Though the idea behind food stamps is noble, and there is a definite need
for the program; there are many problems that arise from the food stamps program.
The primary problem in terms of decision making is the fraud associated with the
food stamp program. According to Tanner as quoted in the Millions Commit Food
Stamp Fraud Every Year article, The food stamp program has always had one of the
highest rates of waste, fraud and abuse (Volk, 2012). In an attempt to ensure that food

Though the duplicate cases were caught, it is not documented how many of those
cases were fraud. There is a lot of data that would need to be analyzed in order to
fully understand the primary problem. One statistic to start with would be to find
out how many people are in need of receiving food stamps. From there, it would be
important to know how many of those people participate in the food stamp
program, and how many people do not. For those who are eligible to receive
benefits but chose not to, it would be important to find out the reason why they do
not partake in the program. After the preliminary information surrounding the need
of the program is assessed, the most helpful information would be to find out how
many cases of fraud there is in a given year. Knowing how relevant the problem is
that exists would be a great place to start in finding a solution. Additionally, for the
controversial solutions that have been introduced, such as the fingerprinting
methods, more substantial data needs to be analyzed to determine the success of
the program. According to the podcast there were 600,000 New York citizens
eligible for food stamps who did not apply for the program (NPR, 2012). However,
it did not state whether this was directly related to the implementation of the
fingerprinting program. It would be beneficial to find out why those people did not
apply for the program, and how many of those people did not apply because of the
stigma around being
46. The Benefits of the DREAM Act
The purpose of the DREAM Act is obvious and clear. It would help the people who
were brought illegally to the United States at a very young age and who have
grown up here and went through a long and demanding process to obtain their
citizenship. It will also make sure that the country will be enriched with only the
most promising and talented people who are eligible to apply. A very recent survey
shows that most Americans think that the bill should be passed by the house.
Passing the DREAM Act will allow eligible DREAMers to pursue their dreams and
reach higher levels of education and obtain higher and better paying jobs, which
would greatly affect our country and be beneficial to the economy. Therefore, the
passing of the DREAM Act represents a fair deal to both the young DREAMers and
the American society.
Young illegal immigrants who would be able to benefit from the DREAM Act have
difficulties when it comes to have access to higher education and high paying jobs
because of their illegal status. And passing the DREAM Act will help them reach
their educational and professional goals. Passing the DREAM Act will contribute in
lowering the high school dropout rates and will motivate young illegal immigrants to
go to college. Moreover, without the DREAM Act, most of the young illegal
immigrant are ineligible for most types of college financial assistance such as Federal
loans and Pell grants. Additionally, many scholarships require applicants to have US
citizenship or the
47. Arguments For The Existence Of God
Arguments for the existence of God through critical thinking and rationalization are
called ontological, cosmological, teleological, or pragmeatic arguments. The most
widely known
of such arguments is that of St. Anselm from Proslogium of St. Anselm, which states
that God is
considered a perfect being unlike humans or any other world subject. The fact that he
is perfect
in a world of imperfection proves his existence. God is also the highest conceivable
idea of
perfection, and therefore, if he were not to exist, there would have to be a higher
form of
perfection that exists in reality.
An important critique of this is that Anselm argues that God is a perfect being which
exists. However, can anything that exists be perfect? ... Show more content on

Such a mover would have to be unmoved itself, and therefore not a part of this world.
Herein comes the existence of God, a holy and unmovable force. Aquinas argument is
contradicted by a previously learned concept called Ockham s Razor, which focuses
on the simplest reasoning without any assumptions. The text from Summa
Theologica contradicts this by creating the idea of an eternal God to explain the
universe. The simplest idea would be to believe that the universe is eternal itself,
rather than creating an exterior being. The idea behind Ockham s Razor is that the
simplest answer is the most easily testable and most likely. Where did the idea of
God creating the universe even begin? This concept is far more complex than simply
the universe created itself. The famous William Paley has a different ontological
argument within his text Natural Theology. The title of the reading gives insight to
the theory, which focuses on something called natural design. The writing is based on
an intricate and extensive analogy between the man made and the natural. For
instance, Paley describes a man made watch in great detail. This intense detail sets
the notion that each piece must have been put in place by someone, whom we can
infer is a watchmaker. He then compares this to the intricacy of nature, which must
have been made by a supreme diety. Such complexity could not have come about by
chance. Only the most
48. Descriptive Writing In Catcher In The Rye
Mr. Spencer Ackley s Descriptive writing The Catcher in The Rye is about a
seventeen year old boy Named Holden who is in a mental hospital. Having a
flashback about what happened last December when he was 16 and just got kicked
out of Pence prep in the story he is trying to discover the world. Confused about
everything does poorly in school and shows depression in hatred for everyone and
everything. Throughout the story he meets people that impact his life like Mr.
Spencer and Robert Ackley. Mr. Spencer a seventy year old man, who is Holden s
history teacher. You may still wonder why he is even teaching at his age if you
really think about it. Old and gross two words that come out of readers mind s
when reading the story. The minute I went in, I was sorry of I d come he was
reading the Atlantic monthly , and there were pills and medicine all over the place
and everything smelled like Vicks Nose Drops it was pretty depressing I m not too
crazy about sick people anyway what made it more depressing , old spencer had on
this very sad , ratty old bathrobe that he was probably born in it or something I don
t much like to see old guys in their pajamas and bathrobes anyway this introduces us
to the way adults view Holden and they he views them in return this a big lack of
understanding Mr . Spencer dosen t know what s wrong with Holden but he wants to
help by lecturing Holden.
Mr. Spencer is a very nice teacher the character in the story seems to have a
connection with him. Even if he failed Holden for not writing his essay on the
Egyptians like he should ve have old Spencer cares for him deeply. I d like to put a
sense in that head of yours boy I m trying to help you If I can Holden thought
different of all the teachers Mr spencer made a big difference but that didn t mean he
would change that still gives the reader a thought on Mr. Spencer never giving up and
having faith that someday things would change.
Robert Ackley a former roommate of Holden s has many weaknesses. Ackley is
dirty, pimply, and all around unhygienic he s annoying. He ll come into your room
and pick your personal stuff and put it back in the wrong place. He thinks being two
years older than Holden makes him superior was about six four

Urticaria, commonly called as hives, appears as raised, smooth elevated papules or
plagues well circumscribed areas of erythema and edema involving the dermis and
the epidermis that are very pruritic and red rashes. It may be acute less then six
weeks or chronic more then six weeks. Urticaria may be confused with a plenty of
other skin diseases that are similar in appearance and are also pruritic. Urticaria is
often as isolated disease without systemic reaction.it can be rarely develop with an
anaphylactic reaction. If any swallowing or edema problem like joint swallowing and
join pain is present, immediate medical treatments should occur. Some time acute

The histamine and its mast cell content remain central to the pathophysiology of the
pruritic wheal and rashes are in the most forms of urticaria, and synthesis, storage,
regulation of release of histamine as well as molecular characterization of its
receptors are becoming well understood. (3). The challenge of the past fifty years has
been to understand the causation of the in discriminated activation of mucosal mast
cells and dermal in chronic urticaria and angioedema (4). In 1980 the discovery of
auto reactivity in the serum of some patients with chronic urticaria (the autologous
serum skin test) was a successful step to promote and forward the attempts to identify
and characterize this activity (5). The subsequent finding in chronic urticaria of
specific complement dependent autoantibodies, which release histamine and other
mediators from mast cells and basophils through dimerization of their high affinity
IgE receptors, has stimulated deep interest in the multifactorial modes of activation of
basophiles and mast cell in this disorder (6). Antihistamines, discovered in the 1940s,
remain the main step for treatment of most types of urticaria. Although recent
quotient ( second generation ) compounds that manifest and refined with great
properties, they are often only moderately effective
50. Leonardo Da Vinci s Major Accomplishments
Leonardo Da Vinci, throughout his life made some truly inspiring and amazing
lifetime accomplishments. He made is mark and is still considered today an artist,
architect, scientist, inventor and an engineer. Though Leonardo da Vinci is most
famous for his works as an artist, he spent some time working on his endeavors in
science and technology. His versatility and creativity mark him as an ultimate
example of a renaissance genius. Leonardo depicted his drawings with scientific
precision and consummate artistry, with subjects ranging from flying machines to
military weapons. He also executed intricate anatomical studies of human beings and
other living organisms, such as faunas and floras, in which they were to an extent
very accurate. However,... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Their work is the link between scientific discoveries and commercial application to
develop new products. Many people consider Leonardo as an artist, architect,
engineer, inventor and scientist, however, by definition of an engineer, Leonardo
doesn t seem to fit the description. He proposed many scientific theories but didn t
seem to have valid solutions to them. Accordingly, we can see that he applied
many mathematical and scientific theories to invent the warlike weapon,
however, it did not properly function and when tested it did not work. Several of
Leonardo s works contain technical errors, including his crossbow as well as
another one of his designs for a military armored tank but many do not know of this
fact. Leonardo likely knew that Ludovico was one of the commanders most
experienced in military technology in Europe, and that an expensive siege weapon
proposal had to be as practical as it was impressive. He knew that the crossbow had
to be practical but when tested, it shows that his proportions were inaccurate and
ended up not working. This makes me wonder if he knew that it was not going to
work but went through with it anyway, in order to impress his
51. The Theme Of Indecision In Hamlet By William
Shakespeare
To be or not be that is the question. That is the question Hamlet is tormented by
throughout the play Hamlet by William Shakespeare. Should I live? Should I die?
Should I take revenge for my father s death? These are all the internal struggles
Hamlet is trying to combat within himself. Also, Hamlet tends to have a conflict
with every member of the play. His indecision is followed by his inaction. The
reason for this struggle with indecision can be based on many factors life presents for
Hamlet.
At the beginning of the play, Hamlet spoke to a ghost which was his father, the
dead king. The king confessed that Claudius, the king s brother that is now married
to Hamlet s mother, killed him. Hamlet s first soliloquy (1.2) reveal Hamlet s
melancholy towards his mother s actions, Why, she would hang on him as if
increase of appetite had grown by what it fed on, and yet, within a month let me not

towards his mother for her lack of loyalty to his father. ... Show more content on

In Act 1, Scene 5, the initiation of this journey for revenge is demonstrated through
the use of death imagery when Hamlet is told, Revenge his foul and most unnatural
murder . Hamlet devotes himself to avenging his father s death, but, because he is
thoughtful by nature, he delays, entering into a deep melancholy and even apparent
madness. Hamlet embodies a deep sense of self doubt, But I am pigeon livered, and
lack gall to make oppression bitter or ere this (2.2). This metaphor is evidence that
Hamlet s thought process decreases the possibility of the accomplished task for his
father resulting in

To what extent did feudalism affect the societies in the Middle Ages?
Plan of Investigation The investigation assesses the significance of the feudal system
in the middle ages. In order to evaluate the feudal system s significance, the
investigation evaluates each role of the social classes in a Middle Ages society. This
includes the kings, nobles and lords, knights, and peasants and serfs. Articles and
secondary sources are mostly used to evaluate the feudal system s significance. Two
of the sources used in this essay, Feudalism by Joseph R. Strayer and Social Classes:
The Middle Ages by William Chester Jordan are then evaluated for their origins,
purposes, and limitations.

Powerful nobles aspired to be king, and so on, but unlike many jobs in society, it
was hard for peasants to move higher.
C. Evaluation of Sources Feudalism compiled by Joseph R. Strayer is an in depth
article on feudalism in the Middle Ages. Feudalism was written with the purpose
to display feudalism in the Middle Ages. This article shows an unbiased opinion
towards all of the social classes in the Medieval time period, and evidently shows
the difference between them. Needless to say, this article distinctly shows the
significance of feudalism in the Middle Ages. However, this article does not state
if the church was involved in society, or not. However, Social Classes: The Middle
Ages by William Chester Jordan compares the societies of both the Byzantine
Empire, and Western Europe during the Middle Ages. This article does not show a
biased opinion towards each of the societies, and briefly describes feudalism and
how it differs in each society. This article shows how the social classes defined the
societies during the Medieval time. This article also does not state if the church was
was involved in society, or not.
Analysis
Feudalism in England was established by William the Conqueror and the Normans at
the Battle of Hastings in 1066. The system and structure of feudalism had been well
established in Europe, but the Normans enforced feudalism in England. Feudalism
was based on the exchange of land for military service, and King William the
