e terms economic development & economic growth are often understood as referring to the economic progress of a country. These are taken as pointers of higher standard of living and better quality of life. However, the perception of economist in this regard is quite different.

Climate Change All over the World .pptxsairaanwer024
Climate change refers to significant and lasting changes in the average weather patterns over periods ranging from decades to millions of years. It encompasses both global warming driven by human emissions of greenhouse gases and the resulting large-scale shifts in weather patterns. While climate change is a natural phenomenon, human activities, particularly since the Industrial Revolution, have accelerated its pace and intensity

UNDERSTANDING WHAT GREEN WASHING IS!.pdfJulietMogola
Many companies today use green washing to lure the public into thinking they are conserving the environment but in real sense they are doing more harm. There have been such several cases from very big companies here in Kenya and also globally. This ranges from various sectors from manufacturing and goes to consumer products. Educating people on greenwashing will enable people to make better choices based on their analysis and not on what they see on marketing sites.
"Understanding the Carbon Cycle: Processes, Human Impacts, and Strategies for...MMariSelvam4
The carbon cycle is a critical component of Earth's environmental system, governing the movement and transformation of carbon through various reservoirs, including the atmosphere, oceans, soil, and living organisms. This complex cycle involves several key processes such as photosynthesis, respiration, decomposition, and carbon sequestration, each contributing to the regulation of carbon levels on the planet.
Human activities, particularly fossil fuel combustion and deforestation, have significantly altered the natural carbon cycle, leading to increased atmospheric carbon dioxide concentrations and driving climate change. Understanding the intricacies of the carbon cycle is essential for assessing the impacts of these changes and developing effective mitigation strategies.
By studying the carbon cycle, scientists can identify carbon sources and sinks, measure carbon fluxes, and predict future trends. This knowledge is crucial for crafting policies aimed at reducing carbon emissions, enhancing carbon storage, and promoting sustainable practices. The carbon cycle's interplay with climate systems, ecosystems, and human activities underscores its importance in maintaining a stable and healthy planet.
In-depth exploration of the carbon cycle reveals the delicate balance required to sustain life and the urgent need to address anthropogenic influences. Through research, education, and policy, we can work towards restoring equilibrium in the carbon cycle and ensuring a sustainable future for generations to come.
Altered Terrain: Colonial Encroachment and Environmental Changes in Cachar, A...PriyankaKilaniya
The beginning of colonial policy in the area was signaled by the British annexation of the Cachar district in southern Assam in 1832. The region became an alluring investment opportunity for Europeans after British rule over Cachar, especially after the accidental discovery of wild tea in 1855. Within this historical context, this study explores three major stages that characterize the evolution of nature. First, it examines the distribution and growth of tea plantations, examining their size and rate of expansion. The second aspect of the study examines the consequences of land concessions, which led to the initial loss of native forests. Finally, the study investigates the increased strain on forests caused by migrant workers' demands. It also highlights the crucial role that the Forest Department plays in protecting these natural habitats from the invasion of tea planters. This study aims to analyze the intricate relationship between colonialism and the altered landscape of Cachar, Assam, by means of a thorough investigation, shedding light on the environmental, economic, and societal aspects of this historical transformation.
Characterization and the Kinetics of drying at the drying oven and with micro...Open Access Research Paper
The objective of this work is to contribute to valorization de Nephelium lappaceum by the characterization of kinetics of drying of seeds of Nephelium lappaceum. The seeds were dehydrated until a constant mass respectively in a drying oven and a microwawe oven. The temperatures and the powers of drying are respectively: 50, 60 and 70°C and 140, 280 and 420 W. The results show that the curves of drying of seeds of Nephelium lappaceum do not present a phase of constant kinetics. The coefficients of diffusion vary between 2.09.10-8 to 2.98. 10-8m-2/s in the interval of 50°C at 70°C and between 4.83×10-07 at 9.04×10-07 m-8/s for the powers going of 140 W with 420 W the relation between Arrhenius and a value of energy of activation of 16.49 kJ. mol-1 expressed the effect of the temperature on effective diffusivity.

2. HUMAN DEVELOPMENT INDEX
It is a composite indicator of a country's
average achievement in terms of basic
capacity, represented by three major and
permanent human opportunities over time in
human development.
Long and healthy life; measured by life
expectancy at birth.
Education; combined gross primary,
secondary and tertiary combined literacy
rate
A decent standard of living
3. CHARACTERISTICS OF THE HUMAN
DEVELOPMENT INDEX
1 - Health: measured by life expectancy at birth.
2 - Education: measured by adult literacy rate and
the combined gross enrolment ratio in primary,
secondary and tertiary education, as well as years
of compulsory education.
3 - Wealth: measured by GDP per capita PPP in
international dollars.
4. The HDI emerges, perhaps as an initiative to
classify countries on the basis of variables other
than those traditionally used in economics,
education, health or other areas.
Was designed to make people's economic incomes known in a country, but also to
assess whether the country provides its citizens with an environment where they can
develop a project and better or worse living conditions.
includes 187 countries
5. GINI INDEX
Measure
The degree of inequality of
income distribution or inequality
of wealth of a region.
The Gini index or Gini coefficient is an economic measure used to calculate the income
inequality that exists among citizens of a territory, usually a country.
Does Not Measure
The welfare of a society. Nor does it alone make
it possible to determine the form
as income is concentrated; nor does it indicate
the difference in better conditions of income.
living in one country or another.
6. It is one of the most commonly used synthetic indicators for analysis.
The inequality statistic is the so-called Gini index, due to the fact that the Gini
among other reasons to its ease of calculation and interpretation.
The Gini coefficient measures global distributive terms without separating urban
and rural populations.
7. INEQUALITY-ADJUSTED HUMAN DEVELOPMENT
INDEX (IHDI)
The Inequality-Adjusted Human Development Index (HDI) proposes a method for to
adjust the HDI, in order to reflect the distribution of human development achievements for
the country as a whole. population and for each of the different dimensions
but in turn becomes takes into account the
distribution of the same throughout the
population, penalizing the value of the
population. average for each dimension

8. MEXICO IN THE LIST OF COUNTRIES BY HDI.
This is a list of countries by human development index included in the
United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) Human Development
Report 2016, published on 27 March 2017 and compiled on the basis of
2015 estimates.
• Lofty….. + de 0,800
• Middle…. de 0,500 a 0,799
• Low…. - de 0,500
9. Mexico is ranked 77th in the Human
Development Index, which does not even
reach the top 30 in the United Nations list of
188 countries.
10. My opinion is a low place considering the resources we have in Mexico, the bad thing is
that we do not know how to support these at their maximum capacity and we are
spending more resources than we generate.
11. We can see which country has the highest level of development. And impressive
that despite the type of government Cuba has, it is in a higher position than
Mexico, this means that not everything depends on the government. Since, as
you mentioned, gross national income per capita is a very important factor for
the HDI and we all contribute to it.
12. CONCLUSION
I believe that the HDI is very important because it not only seeks to identify
the economic development of countries, but also considers their living
conditions in order to be able to develop. In this regard, I think that if a lot
of investment is needed in our country in order to have quality of life
conditions suitable for better labor and social development, with which we
can increase per capita income and in turn this will improve the HDI.
