3. Human Development index
The HDI was created to emphasize that people and their capabilities should be the ultimate
criteria for assessing the development of a country, not economic growth alone. The HDI can
also be used to question national policy choices, asking how two countries with the same level
of GNI per capita can end up with different human development outcomes. These contrasts
can stimulate debate about government policy priorities. The Human Development Index
(HDI) is a summary measure of average achievement in key dimensions of human
development: a long and healthy life, being knowledgeable and have a decent standard of
living.
4. The HDI is the geometric mean of normalized indices for each of the three
dimensions. The Human Development Index (HDI) is a summary measure of

5. GINI Index
"The Gini coefficient provides an index to measure inequality," says Antonio
Cabrales, a professor of economics at University College London.
It is a way of comparing how distribution of income in a society compares
with a similar society in which everyone earned exactly the same amount.
Inequality on the Gini scale is measured between 0, where everybody is equal,
and 1, where all the country's income is earned by a single person.
7. Inequality-adjusted human development index
(IHDI)
The IHDI combines a country’s average achievements in health, education and
income with how those achievements are distributed among country’s
population by “discounting” each dimension’s average value according to its
level of inequality. Thus, the IHDI is distribution-sensitive average level of HD.
Two countries with different distributions of achievements can have the same
average HDI value. Under perfect equality the IHDI is equal to the HDI, but
falls below the HDI when inequality rises.
9. Mexico in the list of countries by HDI.
None of the States (nor the Federal District) has a low level of human development. Only
Oaxaca, Guerrero and Chiapas, located south in the country, are in the medium level if the
HDI. Puebla, Veracruz and Michoacán jumped from this level to high development states in
2010.
Between the states, Querétaro and Campeche have climbed more positions (4 and 3)
jumping from 11 to 7 and 18 to 15 places respectively. In the other hand, Chihuahua and
Nayarit are the ones who have lost more places: 4 , 4,and 3 falling from 15 to 19 and 17 to
20 correspondingly.
11. Conclusion.
Opting for information on the human development index, despite the
increases that we have obtained Mexico as a result of an increase in
overpopulation and not only in this country, if not globally. To infatuate each
one of these numbers indexes have been created with which one is thinking
and estimating new increments of population.
