What Major Policy Changes Has Affected During Educational...

Discuss what major policy changes that have occurred in educational provision in England between
1944 and the present day in primary education.
Introduction
A policy is a plan or of action used by the Ministry of education to set out clear rules and expectations
for the delivery of programs and services to the public .(BCE ) In this essay I will be discussing two
major policy changes that have occurred in educational provision in England between 1944 and the
present day in primary education. I will be discussing the 1944 Education and also 1967 Plowden
Report. Necessary education in England only began in 1880. But before that there were many different
types of schooling including formal and informal. The background of which the ... Show more content

The 1944 act was delivered in contrast to a war and rising popular claim for social improvement
background. It delivered a basis for the education service.
1944 EDUCATION ACT
The 1944 act suggested that the present difference in between elementary and secondary education
should be eliminated and that there should be 3 stages of education: primary, secondary and higher
instead. It was proposed that all school in the secondary stage would have to abide to a single code of
regulations which says that they must provide equality of treatment in such matters as
accommodation, size of lases etc. it also promised secondary education for all. Also all secondary
schools (except of direct grant schools) should be free up to the age of 15. After the 1944 Act, many
things were affected for example even though church schools were not abolished they were named as
voluntary aided , private schools were also not abolished they were only required to be registered and
also parents were given the choice to withdraw their children from religious schools, and although
church schools were not abolished the act improved the control of government over education.
For example, the Local Education Authorities (LEAS) had more responsibilities which proved the rise
in their status. Every county and county borough would be the local education authority (LEA) for its
area (1944 act, section 6, 1). Property and staff previously owned and

Transformational Leadership Within A Health Care Setting
Using transformational leadership in nursing practice can increase morale, motivation, and enhance
job performance, which can ultimately improve patient outcomes and quality of care. The purpose of
this paper is to explain what exactly transformational leadership is, and how it can be used by nurse
leaders within a health care setting to inspire positive change within the working environment to
improve patient quality of patient care and improve job performance.
Introduction
As we know the healthcare system is constantly changing, therefore requiring effective leadership
among nurses. With that said leadership that promotes positive change is necessary in a health care
setting. Transformational leadership was developed by leadership expert James MacGregor Burns in
the late 1970 s. Transformational leadership is considered a contemporary leadership theory.
Contemporary theories of leadership place emphasis on teamwork and collaboration, and is built
around the premise of change. Transformational leadership is a process that motivates followers by
appealing to the higher ideas and moral values where the leader has a deep set of internal values and
ideas and is persuasive at motivating followers to act in a way that sustains the greater good rather
than their own interests (Burns, 1978 as cited in Owen Doody Catriona Doody, 2012, p.1212).
Therefore, when it comes to implementing transformational leadership in a healthcare setting the
nurse leader must takes on various

Bewitchment In Salem
It was a cold and average winter in our small village. In Salem Village, most of the inhabitants are
poor and live a hard life (Kallen 14). Our village is part of Salem Town, but the two are separated by
distance, class, and style (Kallen 14). Our village is small and pretty calm and simple. The children
here have easy lives. By the time they turn six though, children are expected to do household chores
(Kallen 21). On Sunday, I was playing in the yard after church like always with Abigail and Elizabeth,
my two closest friends. Abigail was always first to grow cold and beg to go in, which we always
complied. We first pulled off our heavy down coats to hang, then we cleaned up our shoes so we
wouldn t track water in the house. Elizabeth and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
My father thought it was ridiculous, causing my mama to give him a strange look. We were hungry,
but mother made us continue praying and fasting. My little brother would whine and squirm in mama
s arms. Everyone in our small house was in a bad mood. Mama didn t talk much to papa, and I was
left alone most of the day. Later in the week, father came home with something important to tell
mother. He took her into their room and shut the door behind him. I tiptoed to the wall, pressing my
ear to it, listening to the news. This time father s voice was louder and seemed more energetic. I heard
something about Elizabeth s father, and how he made a witch cake. I couldn t hear the rest. I leaned
too hard on the bench, dropping one of pa s heavy boots. I knew they heard me when I felt large
callused hands grab my arms. Whap! Whap! My bum stung and my as throat sore I ran to my room,
whimpering. I just wanted to hear what happened. They are my friends! I need to know what is going
on with them. Just a few days after the witch cake incident, the so called afflicted girls named three
women they believed were bewitching them: Tituba, Sarah Good, and Sarah Osborne (Brooks). When
father said this, it wasn t in private. He said that the other girls told first. My friends told later that the

Two Emotional Proofs
1.) Logical proof is a type of factual reasoning based upon real facts. These results can be found from
scenarios that have happened in the past. The seven logical proofs are sign, induction, cause,
deduction, analogies, definition, statistics. Proofs that build ethos are when the authors use credible
sources to state facts that can prove their opinion to the audience. Emotional proofs are claims or
reasoning that draws the audience in by using the emotions to choose the side of the argument they are
for or against. Two emotional proofs that are used are motivational proofs and value proofs.
2.) In the three different types of proofs each one uses a different style of language. Logos uses a
logical way of thinking to persuade or convince an

Recommend Elements In The Design Of Audit Trails And Data...
Part 1: Recommend elements included in the design of audit trails and data quality monitoring
programs With today s advancement in technology, most hospitals have developed a data security plan
to ensure that patient data is being handled correctly and is only viewed by authorized personnel.
Hospitals can keep unauthorized personnel from viewing patient information by setting up individual
passwords (Wager, Lee, Glaser, 2013) only allowing those employees to view the patient s information
for them to complete their job task. When an employee is entering information into the system, it
needs to be in real time as much as possible to keep human errors from occurring and for a correction
to be made there will need to be a note attached to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
We also need a more secure software to keep those who are not authorized from accessing the system.
One of the ways we can achieve this is by making sure the software that we have is only accessible by
the staff from audit department and not our normal hospital employees (Loshin, 2011). The software
also needs to be designed that once the data has been retrieved for an audit, it can no longer be
changed unless it is approved through the chain of command.
Part 3: Recommend device selection based on workflow, ergonomic and human factors The current
system that we have is not effective for the staff and needs to be upgraded. When choosing a system
for the hospital, we need to make sure it meets the privacy for our patients and is effective for our
staff. When our staff is treating our patients, we need to be mindful of the placement of computers in
patient rooms so staff can easily access them and bring them to a comfortable level for them to work.
These computers need to have the security screen protection covers placed over them so visitors
cannot see the screen as the staff is documenting. I also think we should install the fingerprint
identification to allow fast and easy access to the system, so the staff is able to complete real time
charting and in the event of an emergency they are not trying to type out their password and
forgetting, having this device installed will also ensure that patients are not able to can access to the
computer (Maksimov Kalkis, 2016).

Primates and Evolution
Primates are animals and to be precise mammals. Primates have a very diverse group and this
means that not all species share the same suit of traits. They have various characteristics such as
hands that can grasp things, large brains, and a high degree of learned rather than innate
behavior, and other numerous traits. Humans are also considered to be primates. The order
Primate is divided into two main suborders and these are the Strepsirhini and Haplorhini.
Strepsirhni includes primates such as lemurs, lorises, and galagoes. On the other hand,
Haplorhini include primates like monkeys, tarsiers, apes, and humans.
The Social Behavior and Structure of Primates
Humans are products of the same evolutionary forces that have produced other species and they
can be expected to exhibit the same behavioral patterns seen in other primates. Even though most
aspects of cultural and social life are uniquely human, the same has been found to be happening
to other non human primates. The only difference between human and non human primates is
that humans have increased brain size as well as learning capacities and this makes them express
many characteristics to a greater degree and culture as well as social life is one of those
characteristics. Cultural and social behavior is not learned and not genetically acquired or
determined even though sometimes it the capacity to learn something is genetically

Yellowtone Mission Trip
Flashes of beautiful wildlife and unbelievable mountain ranges filled my eyes as our youth pastor
showed us the destination of our next mission trip, Yellowstone National Park. I remember looking at
these pictures and thinking there was nothing more I wanted to do than see this amazing wonder. I
wanted to be fully one with nature and experience it with some of the people I loved most, my youth
group. While planning for this trip, I had no idea that by the end of it I would have hiked eighteen
miles into the deep backcountry of Yellowstone with a forty two pound pack on my back. That I
would have slept outside with only a simple tarp over my head and a can of bear spray by my pillow.
That I would have helped remodel a dilapidated home so children living in extreme poverty could
have a place of safe haven. That by the time I returned home, I would have a new desire to seek
adventure and help people in need. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

ground, and by the time we got to our campground, our feet were covered in blisters. That night, our
exhausted group of eight slept under a tarp held up by a pole in the middle of a treeless field where
buffalo hooves were imprinted into the ground. We woke up to the sun rising over the mountain tops
and valleys that were unending. And though our bodies were aching, we felt energized and

Aeschylus The Oresteia
The Oresteia The Oresteia is a trilogy of Greek tragedies written by Aeschylus. This trilogy consists of
Agamemnon, The Libation Bearers or The Choephoroe, and The Eumenides. The only extant example
of an ancient Greek theatre trilogy, the Oresteia won first prize at the Dionysia festival in 458 BC.
Many consider the Oresteia to be Aeschylus finest work. The principal themes of the trilogy include
the contrast between revenge and justice, as well as the transition from personal vendetta to organized
litigation. In this trilogy there are multiple themes carried through all three plays. Other themes can be
found and in one, or two, of the three plays, but are not applicable to the Trilogy as a whole and thus

The play starts off at the temple of Apollo at Delphi, the home of the famous Oracle of Delphi. Orestes
find himself there for temporary shelter from the Furies that have been torturing him ever since the
murder of his mother. Orestes pleads the gods for help against the Furies. Apollo cannot help him, but
with a sleeping curse he slows down the Furies and their evil works against Orestes for a little while.
As the Furies surround Orestes again, he begs Athena to save him. This leads to the trial of Orestes. As
a result of the trial, Orestes leaves to go home to Argos and the Furies have their name switched to
The Eumenides, or Kindly Ones, and ruling that they will now be honoured by the citizens of Athens.
By the end of the trilogy, Orestes is seen to be the key, not only to ending the curse of the House of
Atreus, but also in laying the foundation for a new step in the progress of

Augustine Of Hippo And Lady Julian Of Norwich
The story of Creation found in Genesis 1 3 has captured the attention of countless Christian
theologians throughout the ages. Despite the fact that the text of these chapters are quite short, it has
proved itself to be a fertile ground from which many of the central tenets of Christian doctrine have
sprouted. This fruitful text has also spurred a variety of differing interpretations of the Creation and
Fall. Augustine of Hippo and Lady Julian of Norwich are two theologians who interpreted Genesis 1 3
in vastly different ways. The aim of this paper is to make a thematically organized comparison of
Julian of Norwich s interpretation (which is mostly apparent within her short parable on the Lord and
the Servant, Revelations of Divine Love) with Augustine s influential interpretation of Genesis 1 3.
While Augustine s interpretation is a classic understanding of the Fall that has had a lasting impact on
Western society, in contrast Julian s nuanced understanding of the Fall has had little influence in most
subsequent theological thought until relatively recently. Indeed, it wasn t until the 20th century that
her work began to be broadly in circulation. Even in modern reflections on her theology, many
scholars underappreciate or misunderstand her theology. Some theologians even suggest that she is
moving towards unorthodoxy. Additionally, although Julian of Norwich is held in high esteem by
many scholars and non scholars, she is not always recognized as a highly complex

Napoleon Bonaparte Essay
Napoleon Bonaparte
Corsica is a rugged island in the Mediterranean, which lies sixty miles off the coast of Italy. The
Corsicans are proud and independent people. In 1768, when the French took over the island from
Genoa, an Italian state, the Corsicans rebelled and fought for their freedom. But they were
unsuccessful. Their leader, Pasquale Paoli, was driven into exile.
Several months later, on August 15, 1769, Napoleon Bonaparte was born in Ajaccio, a major port on
the island. He was the second born son of the family. His real name was Napoleone Buonaparte, but as
a young man, he decided to give his name a French spelling. He did this because he had his mind set
on a military career in France, and he didn t want his Italian sounding ... Show more content on

One student, though, decided to challenge Napoleon. While his companions egged him on, he barged
into the garden and started to tear it apart. With a vicious look in Napoleon s eye, He threw himself at
the boy. He sent him hurtling through the fence, splintering it in several places. The boy sprawled on
the ground. Jumping on him, Napoleon pummeled him with his fists until the boy gave up; then
Napoleon let him go. As the years at Brienne went by, he slowly gained the respect of his fellow
students.
Napoleon s mother was left penniless, with eight children to take care of. Napoleon decided to earn his
military commission as quickly as possible so that he could start helping her out financially. Working
day and night, he completed the courses at the Military College within the year, though the program
usually took two to three years.
At sixteen he graduated with the rank of lieutenant and was assigned to an artillery unit. Napoleon had
specialized in artillery at the Military College, because he understood its importance in warfare and
wanted to learn how cannons could most effectively be used in battles.
During the next few years he devoted himself to reading about military science, history, and political
theory. Napoleon was garrisoned in various cities in France, but he also spent much of his time in
Corsica. When he was on military duty he often worked from four o clock in the morning until ten at
night.

How Did The Black Death Affect Europe
The condition that Europe was in before the Black Death struck was ultimately one of the main
reasons for the disease s quick spreading. One bad condition that helped to make the Black Death even
more deadly was the population boom of Europe in the Thirteenth and Fourteenth Centuries (Kagan et
al. 292). Another pre existing condition that hurt the health of Europe was the multiple famines that
would come to be known at the Great Famine (Kagan et al. 292). The last cause of the Black Death
being able to spread so rapidly was the economic depression that occurred shortly before the plague
began. With all of these conditions combined, many Europeans citizens were weakened so much that
the Black Death easily killed many of them and in some cases, ... Show more content on

This depression can be attributed to many different things, one being the Great Famine. The Great
Famine helped to cause the depression because of the crop failures that it created. Farmers could not
produce enough crops to support themselves or trade in the market, and the economy suffered as a
result. In addition, the changes made to the economic system by Philip IV would later hurt Europe
substantially (Rothbard). One of these changes includes when Philip started the system of taxation in
France, issuing a strong sales tax on Champagne (Rothbard). He began to really take control of
France, virtually taking over the Catholic Church and the papacy. Blinded by power, Philip IV early in
the Fourteenth Century began to attack England (Rothbard). The Hundred Years War was almost fully
commenced by Philip IV and the effect that this brutal war would have on France, England and
Europe was palpable (Rothbard). Because of the war, the initial taxes that Philip IV put in place were
raised, and several other new types of taxes such as ad valorem were issued as well (Rothbard). The
high taxes that were put in place caused an inflation in France s currency, and the cost of the war was
quite high as well. The Hundred Years War severely hurt both the English and French economies in
numerous ways, and caused an economic depression that further weakened Europe before the Black
Death would even begin. This economic depression exposed Europe additionally due to the fact that
many Europeans were unable to afford the food and goods that they needed to keep their health up and

Characteristics Of Secret Societies In The 18th Century
In the eighteenth century, Europe had the largest number of Secret Societies. There were three trends
that Secret Societies got something good out of: The Enlightenment (a philosophical movement
(Locke, Montesquieu and Voltaire) advocating human reasoning over obedience while strengthening
the reasons for Scientific thinking), Enlightened Despotism (where society of every rank and status
felt their values were threatened by the state. Freemasonry therefore seemed very appealing as it
taught ways of conveying ancient wisdom and virtue), and The growth against the reasoning of
Rationalism and Enlightenment as well as the fascination for nature s secrets which brings about a
mystical, magical and even occult exaltation.
As secret societies is the topic at hand, i d like to start by speaking about secret societies before
continuing with the classification of secret societies for the purpose of developing the discussion.
Secrecy is defined as an exclusion of reciprocal knowledge by members of associations and the
concealment is premeditated. As having full knowledge of any information is trusting, the complete
absence means distrust. It is very natural for us to understand that what is forbidden is permitted and
for what is not permitted is forbidden. Secrecy is one of the greatest accomplishments of humanity as
the purposeful concealment and aggression against the other party is most effective with negative and
positive outcomes. There will always be a small ratio of

Trade is an exchange of good or beliefs between two or more people. It s made to benefit each country

On 31 May of 1902, a treaty named The Treaty of Vereeing was signed to end the Boer War
(Droogleever, R. 2015). This treaty provided an end to the war and ultimately in 1910 a self
government to the Transvaal (South African Republic). In 1926, this government gained a complete
independence and became republic in 1961. Thus, it can be said that this gave the white Africans
power over the black South African. In 1910 itself, there are about 1.3 million white South African
citizen, the majority are Afrikaners and the rest are British (refer to figure1). Due to an enormous
antipathy between these two communities, there have always been a disagreement on the level of
rights that the four million black South African should get. However, the two communities have one
mind in seeing the Black South African as a supply of significantly cheap manual labour (Gascoigne.

Persuasive Essay On Dreaming
When humans are asleep they create new realities in their brains. To most people these realities are
called dreams. Dreaming occurs during the process of REM. REM is rapid eye movement. One of the
most asked questions about dreaming is why do humans dream. Humans dream because they have
certain wants or desires that cannot be achieved while being awake. Creating a new reality with
accomplish these desires and leave the person feeling good. Dreaming can create many feelings.
People think that dreaing only happens to creative people. But that is not true, everyone dreams!
Dreaming can come in many different ways. Dreams. What are they? Dreaming is the process when
humans are sleeping and they create stories based on their pleasures. Researchers have found that
there is still more to discover about the process of dreaming because the author says As with many
things concerning the brain and unconscious thought, there is so much that remains unknown about
dreaming (Hannah Nichols). Based on Hannah s article Dreams: Why do we Dream?, some possible
explanations for dreaming are unconscious desires and wishes. Every human wishes something in
their life, even when they do not realize it. Being asleep unlocks those desires and humans make a
reality where that wish comes true. The next possible explanation for dreaming is to interpret signals
from the brain and body. When humans fall asleep our brains are the most active than being awake.
Our brains try to process what is

Antigone as a Tragic Hero Essay
Antigone as a tragic hero The debate over who is the tragic hero in Antigone is unanswered. The belief
that Antigone is the hero is a tough one. Antigone is widely thought of as the tragic hero of the play
bearing her name. She would seem to fit the part in light of the fact that she dies for doing what she
believes is right. She buries her brother without worrying what might happen to her. Unlike Antigone,
Ismene says And break the law, our death will be more shameful even then theirs (pg.5 line 60). In
Sophocle s Antigone, the characters show a variety of traits. However, Antigone s life of aspiration,

types of tragic flaws are unwarranted pride, ambition, and jealousy. Those who do believe that
Antigone was meant to be the true tragic hero argue against others who believe that Creon deserves
that honor. They say that the Gods were against Creon, and that he did not truly love his country. His
patriotism is to narrow and negative and his conception of justice is too exclusive... to be dignified by
the name of love for the state . These arguments, and many others, make many people believe the
Antigone is the rightful protagonist. Antigone tries to help her brother without worrying about what
will happen to her. She says, I intend to give my brother burial. I ll be glad to die in the attempt, if it s
a crime, then it s a crime that God commands (she says in a different translation). Antigone says He
has no right to keep me from my own (pg.4 line 48). She was also punished for doing what was right.
Her epiphany came, hidden from the audience, before she hung herself. Creon, understanding his
ignorance may lead one to believe that he is the true protagonist. But, if you define the word
protagonist you would find that a protagonist is one who is a leader or supporter of a cause. Antigone
is in support of her own actions in the burial of her brother

Poe s Alone
The meaning of the poem Alone by Edgar Allan Poe is to show that Poe was not the same as others, he
had a dark childhood that lead into a dull life full of loneliness. Relating to that, the theme would be
considered divergent. You can tell from reading the poem just how hurt Edgar was by the way his life
turned out, he was all alone. My sorrow I could not awaken (6) is a quote straight out of the poem that
gives you a good idea of his true feelings. His heart was heavy with distress that he could barely
handle but we cannot blame him for if we had a childhood like his, our hearts would feel the same.
Secondly, Edgar describes his life in many ways throughout his several works but one particularly
stands out, Of a most stormy life (10)

Were The American Colonists Justified Dbq Essay
Before the American Revolution in 1775 the British were in major dept so they decided to tax the
colonists. This made the colonist very furious so they started to protest against the Britains like
dumping 342 chests of tea into the Boston Harbor, loyalists were being tarred and feathered, and many
more horrible things. The colonists were justified in waging war and breaking away from the Britains
for many reasons for example the Britain s enforced many taxes like the Stamp Act, tea act, and the
Townshend Act. The colonists were also justified in breaking away from the British because the
British were very tyrant towards the colonist like the quartering act, the intolerable act, and the Boston
Massacre. Nonetheless the colonists were justified because ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

Some examples of the British having tyranny to the colonists were the quartering act, the intolerable

quartering acts was when in the Declaration of Independence. In document 9 it states how the
colonists had to had to quarter soldiers in their home. Not only did they have to quarter the soldiers
they also had to give them food, small beer, cyder, and rum. Another example of the British being
tyrants were the intolerable act. The intolerable act was a harsh law that was passed by the British
parliament. This law was made to punish the colonists for the Boston Tea Party. In document 5 it
states how life was after the intolerable act was put into action. Lastly, an example of the British being

The Effects Of Chocolates On The Ivory Coast
The Ivory Coast is on the west coast of africa and was a French colony. When the Spanish started
colonizing latin america they were introduced to the world of chocolate. (background essay) When the
Spanish brought this sweet treat back, Europe fell in love with it. The French colonized the western
coast of Africa and started to grow the chocolate there because it was closer to Europe. Although
chocolate is good for the Ivory Coast s economy it has severe negative side effects to the land and

The Themes Of Discovery In The Discovery, By Michael Gow
Discovery comprises the understanding of uncovering something for the first time or refinding
something that has been forgotten or something has not yet been explored. Disclosures can be
provoking and confronting. The impact can be transformative. They are able to lead us to new worlds
and values, venture new thoughts, and allow us to gamble about future possibilities. Their effect can
be life changing for the individual and for a broader community. discovery may be interrogated or
confronted when viewed from different aspects and their value may be reconsidered over time.
The play Away by Michael Gow and the poem The discovery by Gwendolyn MacEwan, both texts
consists of the themes about discovery. Away by Michael Gow is a play in a play. It is about three
Australian families who went on holidays in mid summer up the coast where they were driven
together by the storm. The storm leads the families to discover new people, places and has renewed
understandings of themselves and others. In the play, Gow explores the themes of suffering,
regeneration, grief, and the healing effects that can have on an individual. And, The discovery by
MacEwan is a poem about constant exploration and how nothing can ever fully be understood.
MacEwan in her poem explains about how nothing can ever fully be understood by telling us that
there is always another thing that you may not be aware of and that must be taken into account.

Little Red Fish And The Golden Clog
Cinderella Essay
Cinderella stories have been around since the 1st century BC. Since then, many cultures have created
their own versions of this well known story which reflect the same morals as the story most children
know today. One adage that has been around just as long as these stories is this too will pass ; saying
that everything in life is temporary. The common structure of a Cinderella story follows a girl who is
beautiful, yet for some reason is undesirable. This original suffering by a stepmother or other character
requires perseverance, but this eventually comes to an end when the heroine meets a prince, is forced
her to leave the prince, but is eventually sought out by the prince to be married. The many versions of

Both Sodewa Bai and The Little Red Fish and the Golden Clog have heroines that trust someone who
s outside image didn t reflect who they actually were. In Sodewa Bai, the heroine confides in her
husband s first wife her secret about her necklace which kept her alive. In Little Red Fish and the
Golden Clog, this is the fisherman s daughter who thought that their neighbor would be a good
stepmother for her. In both of these stories the person they trust isn t trusted by a person in the heroine
s life. For the fisherman s daughter this is her father who doesn t trust the woman, while for the
Sodewa Bai, it is her husband s parents who are wary of the intentions of the prince s first wife. Both
of the people who are trusted by the heroine are the ones who end up causing her pain and suffering.
This is an interesting way to have written the story because it gave the characters the perspective in
which they suffered because of their choices and other people are not to blame. These myths explain
that in life, hardships are tests and show that one must be responsible for their actions as well as
maintain qualities like patience, humility, and hope through suffering and through

Story Of An Hour By Kate Chopin
The Story of an Hour by Kate Chopin is a short story from the late nineteenth century focusing on a
young woman as she reacts to a report that says her husband, on the top of the list of the report, had
died in a train accident. Due to this unfortunate accident she is given the chance of freedom and
Chopin s story tells that hour.
The main theme to this short story one may think it relates to the saying, carpe diem , meaning to seize
the day. The themes of this short story include oppression and repression. In the late nineteenth
century, society wanted women to take care of their children, cook, and keep the house clean. This
short story hints that Mrs. Mallard s husband was in charge of his wife. Jamil states that a woman is
not expected ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
A piece of irony from the short story was the title of the story, The Story of an Hour. This may be
ironic to one because, just by the title being stated, the story must have happened within an hour, but
Kate Chopin made it seem like it lasted a couple of days. This is ironic because Mrs. Mallard only
needed an hour to know that she did not need her husband anymore to be happy and live. But, it would
take another wife, maybe a few years to fully recover from a spouse s death. The main irony one may
see the most is in the end of the story in paragraph twenty three when Katie Chopin states …joy that
kills (Chopin, 2). Jamil states Louise is the joy that she refuses to surrender, as the patriarchy would
require her to do at Brently s return. But, for one climactic hour of her life, Louise does truly taste joy.
(220) This is an ironic sentence at the end of the story due to the doctors believed that Mrs. Mallard
was happy to see her husband alive and in one piece. The ending was very ironic because of the
outcome of Mrs. Mallard. The whole story was a rising action until you got to her death at the end of
the story. The author made it seem that there was so much for Mrs. Mallard to live for, but when Mrs.
Mallard saw her husband, alive, there was not anything worth living for to Mrs.

Arthurian Legend Essay
Arthurian Legend
Even though the Arthur legend is hundreds of years old, our culture today is still fascinated with the
idea of the Round Table and the love triangle between Arthur, Lancelot, and Guinevere. There are
movies and books galore to read about the different takes on the legend of Arthur. However, it makes
one wonder if our culture really understands the Arthurian legend. Especially in the movies the central
idea of a literary work can be lost. Compared to Malory s Le Morte d Arthur have movies lost sight of
what the Arthurian legend tries to teach?
Le Morte d Arthur has several different themes working within in for Hollywood to choose from. An
easy one for moviemakers is the glorification of the hero. In Malory s work ... Show more content on

Unfortunately, the Round Table is destroyed by the above mentioned betrayal.
Another theme that is also borrowed from Beowulf is the idea of the sword representing destruction.
The sword in the stone is what starts a great deal of the trouble. The sword is what continues to start
such trouble. Merlin warns Arthur that the sword is better off in its sheath but Arthur does not listen.
Instead, the sword is used to try to solve problems and ends up creating many more.
The last major theme was a common one during the time Malory was writing: courtly love. This
theme is definitely something our culture has dwelled on. The idea of two lovers who cannot be
together because of marriage is all too interesting for the culture that is also obsessed with soap
operas. One could say that many more movies that do not even mention Arthur could be based on the
Arthurian legend if they imitate courtly love. Any movie with a love triangle could be game. However,
the key element of courtly love is that there must be a third party. If the love is not forbidden it just is
not worth the trouble.
The first movie examined for the comparison was Disney s The Sword in the Stone. Without even
watching it, one knows there are striking differences. One main reason for several differences if that
the movie is a cartoon and is geared towards children. A children s movie is not going to try to

The Ethical Considerations Of Ethics
Ethical Considerations
Ethics is one of the most important considerations when making a decision about end of life. It is also
where the most controversy lies as arguments, using ethical theories, can be made for and against laws
on end of life. Ethics has at least two primary functions: to guide our actions, and to provide
justification for the guidance given (Schuklenk et al., 2011, p. 42). A duty oriented ethicist would be
against euthanasia and physician assisted death. They believe we can t stop all pain; what is crucial is
that we act with dignity and respect in the face of suffering (Edge Groves, 2006, p.40). Kant s view is
a person committing suicide takes the easy way out, where reason would dictate he or she face their
problems (Schuklenk et al., 2011, p.38). Virtue ethicists would also be against euthanasia and
physician assisted death. Virtue ethicists hold it is not only important to do the right thing but equally
to have the right disposition, motivation, and traits for being good and doing right (Edge Groves,
2006, p.43). As a believer in God, a virtue ethicist would hold suicide as an unreasonable option. They
would believe God to be the sole arbiter of life and death (Schuklenk et al., 2011, p.42) and therefore,
the right thing to do would be for God to end their life as he sees fit.
Contrary to these points is the belief in the protection of individual autonomy. Autonomy, as defined
by Edge Groves (2006), is the freedom to choose

Youth Sports Negatives
As kids grow up you will notice that their parents are not quite sure what kind of sport they want to
sign them up for, so they enroll them in all of them hoping that their child will find a sport that they
will continue throughout their life. Kids usually range in sports such as basketball, football, baseball,
softball, soccer, dance, and gymnastics. With every youth sport organization comes the negatives and
the positives. The negative aspects are that parents can be hard on their children, and receiving a
participation trophy or ribbon even though they lost. The positives being that they can begin healthy
lifestyles by participating in youth sports. Physically they get the required exercise they need, and will
eventually continue that throughout their life. Emotionally, they leave youth sports will a sense of
accomplishment, and being seen by college coaches to help boost their self esteem.
Parents will generally take the coaching position when their kid plays an organized sport which can
potentially be a bad thing. For example, my dad thought he needed to coach me in every sport I played
until I told him he needed to be a spectator instead. After a while you will notice these parents become
very competitive in games that do not really matter to the kids playing because they are just happy to
be there. This can cause problems because when the kid of the coach will become mad at their kid,
and reprimand them for things the child might not even know that they are doing

There was a deal reportedly in place that was centered around Hamonic and 28 year old winger James

The Great Gatsby Nick Carraway Narrator
Some would argue the most vital character of the story is the protagonist, however many more would
say it is the narrator. The narrator describes what his happening in the story, and we see every moment
through their eyes. But alas, not all narrators can be trusted. Especially in a time like when The Great
Gatsby, by F. Scott Fitzgerald, was written. The narrator for this book is Nick Carraway, who grew up
with his well off family in Chicago and then went to Yale. Throughout the book, he reveals attributes
about him that make him seem like a reliable narrator, however he may very not be.
With the first few paragraphs of the novel, Fitzgerald starts to build a narrator that readers feel they
can really trust. For example, Nick begins the book quoting the advice he received from his father
remember that all the people in this world haven t had all the advantages that you ve had (Fitzgerald

ABSTRACT
Sowbugs live in wet locations. They are found under damp objects or in organic garbage. If they enter
a building, they will often dry out and die. The purpose of this experiment was to observe the trend of
sowbug preference. Our hypothesis was that sowbugs prefer grass to sand as a ground covering
because grass is more suitable to them due to its moisture level and that it contains decaying matter. In
this experiment, we put 20 sowbugs into a container filled half with sand, and half with grass and
documented their preference. The results of this experiment show that ... Show more content on

One sowbug was then placed in the 3cm gap of the container and 30 seconds was started on the
stopwatch. When time was completed we observed which side, grass or sand, the sowbug had
preferred. Then, the sowbug was removed and a new one was placed in the container. The same steps
were taken for each of the 20 bugs.
RESULTS
Our hypothesis was that sowbugs prefer grass to sand as a ground covering because grass is more
suitable to them due to its moisture level and that it contains decaying matter. The sowbugs preferred
sand 10% more than grass (Figure 1). Table 1 shows the difference in preference for the ground
covering, with more sowbugs preferring sand to grass.
Figure 1. This pie chart shows that the sowbugs preferred sand 55%, and grass 45%.
| Observed | Expected | Grass | 9 | 10 | Sand | 11 | 10 |
Table 1. This chart shows that the observed number of sowbugs preferred grass 9 times, and sand 11
times. It also shows the expected data 10 for each preference.
DISCUSSION
The purpose of this investigation was to test sowbugs preference between grass and sand. The results
of this experiment show that sowbugs prefer sand to grass. Of the 20 sowbugs, they preferred sand 11
times, and grass 9 times (Table 1). A possible explanation for this is because of other contributing
factors, such as endogenous rhythms (Cloudsley Thompson, 1951). Our null hypothesis was accepted

Computer Vs. Personal Computers
Smart phones and computer have been around for quite a while, but the only difference is that the
personal computers have been around way longer than smart phones. Before computers were a big
deal, but now it s all about smart phones and new ones that are launching soon. People may not think
so much about personal computers because today s generation is all about smart phones now. I
understand that people can have their own personal opinion and may disagree with what I m saying,
but my opinion is that personal computers are better. Personal computers is a better, electronic than
smart phones because personal computers are not a distraction, and are a lot more helpful. First,
personal computers are less distracting. Computer actually need access to Wi Fi in order to do
anything. I believe computer are better because if you have no Wi Fi then you can t access your social
media and wouldn t be distracted. You also won t be distracting while driving because you won t have
Wi Fi and it is actually safer because you can pay more attention to driving than being on social
media. Computers also don t receive text messages nor phone calls, which is a good thing. This
electronic is also good for when doing homework because you can listen to music, type better, and
faster on the keyboard. In contrary, smartphones are very distracting. Smartphones can be helpful
when you can t access Wi Fi for google maps or just looking up a store for hours, email and other

Ocean City is a beautiful vacation place, not just for the summer. Many people go there to relax, make
memories and have a good time. It is a fun filled, family friendly vacation place that everyone will
enjoy and it is worth the drive. Ocean City has a lot of history to go with it, the first hotel was built by
Isaac Coffin in 1869, it was the first beachfront cottage to receive paying guests, who came to fish,
relax, enjoy the beauty of the ocean, and enjoy the sand. Ocean City extends nearly 10 miles from the
southern inlet to the Delaware line. Now there are hotels, motels, apartments, houses, and condos.
Ocean city expanded when the Chesapeake Bay bridge was finished, by the 1970 s there were big
businesses and more apartments being built. Ocean City is located near Fenwick Island, near the
Delaware line. On the bridge, you get a beautiful view of the bay and you see boats going all around
you and under you. It is a three to four hour drive depending on traffic. Once you get to Ocean City,
depending on where you are, there is a view of the bay on one side and on the other side, you have a

The Abolance Of The Slave Trade
Slavery was accepted and recognized all around the world. During the sixteenth to nineteenth century,
many european colonies engaged in the slave trade and the Atlantic slave trade. Roughly twelve
million African slaves were transported across the Atlantic from the early sixteenth century to the
1860 s. Britain became the largest slave provider, 3.1 million slaves were transported, but only 2.7
survived. The government of Great Britain banned slave ships from engaging in the slave trade
because they believed it was not morally correct or morally right to have slaves. Walvin argues that
the British played a major and involuntary role in bringing an end to the slave trade. He also believes

In 1761 the Quakers believed it was a christian duty to end slavery. All quakers on both sides of the
Atlantic were banned from owning slaves. If you were caught still owning a slave you were disowned
from the group. It was not until 1783 when the Quakers came together and presented a petition to the
House of Commons against the slave trade. The quakers received three hundred signatures from other
quakers. After looking at the amount of signatures they set up a formal committee. The committee had
the original nine quakers plus three Anglicans; Granville Sharp, Philip Sansom, and Thomas Clarkson.
Once Thomas Clarkson joined the committee he took matters into his own hands and started to get
more public attention. Clarksons journey to stop the slave trade began in 1785 when he wrote an essay
called Is it lawful to make slaves of others against their wills? . The quakers read the essay and
published it in 1786. A year later in May of 1787 Clarkson and eleven others created the Society for
Effecting the Abolition of the Slave Trade . Clarkson realized that they would not pass the bill unless
they had research backing up with views on who it was unethical to have slaves. He began by
traveling. On his travels he collected research by observing, finding witnesses, interviewing slaves,
making notes and assembling evidence. Once he had the research he traveling more than thirty five

The accident happened because this defendant was using a wireless device while he was operating the
train. He also failed to respond to a red signal because of this, and caused multiple fatalities and
injuries. He is the main reason why this accident happened and caused fatalities and injuries, which
can be considered as a crime.
He should not face criminal charges because he had the right of way and the accident was not caused
because of his actions. Although the records showed that he used wireless devices while on duty, but
the findings of NTSB did not say that the accident was caused by his actions.

Older Workers Persuasive Speech
Attention Getter: Our economy keep changing as fast as the speed of a roller coaster. Therefore, many
people including employers assume that workers over 45 are less productivities because younger
workers will keep up with rapid economic development better. This assumption can be against anyone
of us in the future because some of us will join the group of older workers someday.
Topic Revelation: I am Uyen Nguyen, today I will convince you to support employment protection for
older workers.
Credibility Statement: In 2013, the U.S. Department of Labor announces that one third of total U.S.
workforce is 50 years or older and predict that in 2050, the group of 65 years or older is expected to
grow by 75 percent.

25 percent of them never found another job after being laid off. 5.4 million older Americans are ready
to work but can not find a job. 86 percent of older workers opposed to mandatory retirement at a fixed
age. less than 30 percent of older adults receive private pension income.
III. Cause As I just mentioned about the retirement plan. I want to talk more about it because the good
purpose of retirement plans unintentionally becomes the cause of age discrimination in our society.
In the book Old and Obsolete: Age Discrimination and the American Worker published in 1989, the
prejudice against older workers in the workplace did not exist before having retirement plans. Before
the 20th century, older workers, along with all others, were expected to remain economically and
socially useful as long as they were physically able to do so
Then, retirement system begin in 1921 to support workers who are over 65 and work for a certain
number of years since their lifespan was rarely over 65, and most of them had to do heavy work

Three Ways to Pitch A Construction Equipment GPS System To Your Project Manager
The job requirements for a project manager are extensive. One of their first priorities is in preparing
and negotiating expense estimates, operating budgets, and work timetables. They are responsible for
the working operations and status of expensive machinery, that may include, mobile cranes, towers,
earth moving equipment, heavy trucks, and service vehicles. Their responsibilities include the
selection, and hiring, of laborers and subcontractors, as well as, the continual supervising of on site
construction personnel and activities. It is the project manager who must respond to any work delays,

The advantages of a construction equipment GPS system are numerous, and project managers will
experience the advantages of:
24/7 monitoring and tracking of all assets
Real time alerts
Route tracking
Access to a variety of reports that include fuel consumption, route deviation, idling history, and
working hours
Greater Compliance
Project managers must stay abreast of legalities, including building permits, hours of service (HOS)
rules that legally limit the number of hours that personnel can operate equipment, and business
operation restrictions that may be imposed by a city mandate. Failure to comply to these boundaries
may have significant repercussions including, hefty fines, and damaged reputations. GPS systems can
be easily customized to configure specific alerts that warn of compliance irregularities. Equipment
operators will have start, and stop times digitally recorded, including breaks, allowing managers to
make sure that HOS rules are being complied with. Driving performances can be monitored, and
excessive speed, or other aggressive driving behaviors, can trigger alerts to the project manager and
acted upon immediately. Compliance with city requirements may involve confining work hours to
certain times of the day only. Project managers can configure a single alert for the entire group of
equipment, and vehicles that operate at the site, and be instantly notified if

Introduction A policy is a plan or of action used by the Ministry of education to set out clear rules and expectations for the delivery of programs and services to the public .(BCE ) In this essay I will be discussing two major policy changes that have occurred in educational provision in England between 1944 and the present day in primary education. The 1944 act was delivered in contrast to a war and rising popular claim for social improvement background. It delivered a basis for the education service. 1944 EDUCATION ACT The 1944 act suggested that the present difference in between elementary and secondary education should be eliminated and that there should be 3 stages of education: primary, secondary and higher instead. It was proposed that all school in the secondary stage would have to abide to a single code of regulations which says that they must provide equality of treatment in such matters as accommodation, size of lases etc. it also promised secondary education for all. Also all secondary schools (except of direct grant schools) should be free up to the age of 15. After the 1944 Act, many things were affected for example even though church schools were not abolished they were named as voluntary aided , private schools were also not abolished they were only required to be registered and also parents were given the choice to withdraw their children from religious schools, and although church schools were not abolished the act improved the control of government over education. For example, the Local Education Authorities (LEAS) had more responsibilities which proved the rise in their status. Every county and county borough would be the local education authority (LEA) for its area (1944 act, section 6, 1). Property and staff previously owned and ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Transformational Leadership Within A Health Care Setting Using transformational leadership in nursing practice can increase morale, motivation, and enhance job performance, which can ultimately improve patient outcomes and quality of care. The purpose of this paper is to explain what exactly transformational leadership is, and how it can be used by nurse leaders within a health care setting to inspire positive change within the working environment to improve patient quality of patient care and improve job performance. Introduction As we know the healthcare system is constantly changing, therefore requiring effective leadership among nurses. With that said leadership that promotes positive change is necessary in a health care setting. Transformational leadership was developed by leadership expert James MacGregor Burns in the late 1970 s. Transformational leadership is considered a contemporary leadership theory. Contemporary theories of leadership place emphasis on teamwork and collaboration, and is built around the premise of change. Transformational leadership is a process that motivates followers by appealing to the higher ideas and moral values where the leader has a deep set of internal values and ideas and is persuasive at motivating followers to act in a way that sustains the greater good rather than their own interests (Burns, 1978 as cited in Owen Doody Catriona Doody, 2012, p.1212). By the time they turn six though, children are expected to do household chores (Kallen 21). On Sunday, I was playing in the yard after church like always with Abigail and Elizabeth, my two closest friends. Abigail was always first to grow cold and beg to go in, which we always complied. Part 1: Recommend elements included in the design of audit trails and data quality monitoring programs With today s advancement in technology, most hospitals have developed a data security plan to ensure that patient data is being handled correctly and is only viewed by authorized personnel. Hospitals can keep unauthorized personnel from viewing patient information by setting up individual passwords (Wager, Lee, Glaser, 2013) only allowing those employees to view the patient s information for them to complete their job task. One of the ways we can achieve this is by making sure the software that we have is only accessible by the staff from audit department and not our normal hospital employees (Loshin, 2011). When choosing a system for the hospital, we need to make sure it meets the privacy for our patients and is effective for our staff. When our staff is treating our patients, we need to be mindful of the placement of computers in patient rooms so staff can easily access them and bring them to a comfortable level for them to work. These computers need to have the security screen protection covers placed over them so visitors cannot see the screen as the staff is documenting. I also think we should install the fingerprint identification to allow fast and easy access to the system, so the staff is able to complete real time charting and in the event of an emergency they are not trying to type out their password and forgetting, having this device installed will also ensure that patients are not able to can access to the computer (Maksimov Kalkis, 2016). ... • 7. Primates And Evolution Of Primates Name Professor Course Date Primates and Evolution Primates are animals and to be precise mammals. Primates have a very diverse group and this means that not all species share the same suit of traits. They have various characteristics such as hands that can grasp things, large brains, and a high degree of learned rather than innate behavior, and other numerous traits. Humans are also considered to be primates. The order Primate is divided into two main suborders and these are the Strepsirhini and Haplorhini. Strepsirhni includes primates such as lemurs, lorises, and galagoes. On the other hand, Haplorhini include primates like monkeys, tarsiers, apes, and humans. The Social Behavior and Structure of Primates Humans are products of the same evolutionary forces that have produced other species and they can be expected to exhibit the same behavioral patterns seen in other primates. Even though most aspects of cultural and social life are uniquely human, the same has been found to be happening to other non human primates. The only difference between human and non human primates is that humans have increased brain size as well as learning capacities and this makes them express many characteristics to a greater degree and culture as well as social life is one of those characteristics. Cultural and social behavior is not learned and not genetically acquired or

  • 13. Augustine Of Hippo And Lady Julian Of Norwich The story of Creation found in Genesis 1 3 has captured the attention of countless Christian theologians throughout the ages. Despite the fact that the text of these chapters are quite short, it has proved itself to be a fertile ground from which many of the central tenets of Christian doctrine have sprouted. This fruitful text has also spurred a variety of differing interpretations of the Creation and Fall. Augustine of Hippo and Lady Julian of Norwich are two theologians who interpreted Genesis 1 3 in vastly different ways. The aim of this paper is to make a thematically organized comparison of Julian of Norwich s interpretation (which is mostly apparent within her short parable on the Lord and the Servant, Revelations of Divine Love) with Augustine s influential interpretation of Genesis 1 3. While Augustine s interpretation is a classic understanding of the Fall that has had a lasting impact on Western society, in contrast Julian s nuanced understanding of the Fall has had little influence in most subsequent theological thought until relatively recently. Indeed, it wasn t until the 20th century that her work began to be broadly in circulation. Even in modern reflections on her theology, many scholars underappreciate or misunderstand her theology. Some theologians even suggest that she is moving towards unorthodoxy. Additionally, although Julian of Norwich is held in high esteem by many scholars and non scholars, she is not always recognized as a highly complex ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

One bad condition that helped to make the Black Death even more deadly was the population boom of Europe in the Thirteenth and Fourteenth Centuries (Kagan et al. 292). Another pre existing condition that hurt the health of Europe was the multiple famines that would come to be known at the Great Famine (Kagan et al. 292). The last cause of the Black Death being able to spread so rapidly was the economic depression that occurred shortly before the plague began. This depression can be attributed to many different things, one being the Great Famine. The Great Famine helped to cause the depression because of the crop failures that it created. Farmers could not produce enough crops to support themselves or trade in the market, and the economy suffered as a result. In addition, the changes made to the economic system by Philip IV would later hurt Europe substantially (Rothbard). One of these changes includes when Philip started the system of taxation in France, issuing a strong sales tax on Champagne (Rothbard). He began to really take control of France, virtually taking over the Catholic Church and the papacy. Blinded by power, Philip IV early in the Fourteenth Century began to attack England (Rothbard). The Hundred Years War was almost fully commenced by Philip IV and the effect that this brutal war would have on France, England and Europe was palpable (Rothbard). Because of the war, the initial taxes that Philip IV put in place were raised, and several other new types of taxes such as ad valorem were issued as well (Rothbard). The high taxes that were put in place caused an inflation in France s currency, and the cost of the war was quite high as well. The Hundred Years War severely hurt both the English and French economies in numerous ways, and caused an economic depression that further weakened Europe before the Black Death would even begin. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Antigone fulfills all three traits thoroughly in the story of Antigone. A tragic flaw plays a very imperative part of a tragic hero. Tragic flaw simply means a character weakness. The most common types of tragic flaws are unwarranted pride, ambition, and jealousy. Those who do believe that Antigone was meant to be the true tragic hero argue against others who believe that Creon deserves that honor. They say that the Gods were against Creon, and that he did not truly love his country. His patriotism is to narrow and negative and his conception of justice is too exclusive... to be dignified by the name of love for the state . These arguments, and many others, make many people believe the Antigone is the rightful protagonist. Antigone tries to help her brother without worrying about what will happen to her. The main irony one may see the most is in the end of the story in paragraph twenty three when Katie Chopin states …joy that kills (Chopin, 2). Jamil states Louise is the joy that she refuses to surrender, as the patriarchy would require her to do at Brently s return. But, for one climactic hour of her life, Louise does truly taste joy. (220) This is an ironic sentence at the end of the story due to the doctors believed that Mrs. Mallard was happy to see her husband alive and in one piece. The ending was very ironic because of the outcome of Mrs. Mallard. The whole story was a rising action until you got to her death at the end of the story. The author made it seem that there was so much for Mrs. Mallard to live for, but when Mrs. Mallard saw her husband, alive, there was not anything worth living for to Mrs. ... • 30. Arthurian Legend Essay Arthurian Legend Even though the Arthur legend is hundreds of years old, our culture today is still fascinated with the idea of the Round Table and the love triangle between Arthur, Lancelot, and Guinevere. There are movies and books galore to read about the different takes on the legend of Arthur. However, it makes one wonder if our culture really understands the Arthurian legend. Especially in the movies the central idea of a literary work can be lost. Compared to Malory s Le Morte d Arthur have movies lost sight of what the Arthurian legend tries to teach? Le Morte d Arthur has several different themes working within in for Hollywood to choose from. An easy one for moviemakers is the glorification of the hero. In Malory s work ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Unfortunately, the Round Table is destroyed by the above mentioned betrayal. Another theme that is also borrowed from Beowulf is the idea of the sword representing destruction. The sword in the stone is what starts a great deal of the trouble. The sword is what continues to start such trouble. Merlin warns Arthur that the sword is better off in its sheath but Arthur does not listen. Instead, the sword is used to try to solve problems and ends up creating many more. The last major theme was a common one during the time Malory was writing: courtly love. This theme is definitely something our culture has dwelled on. The idea of two lovers who cannot be together because of marriage is all too interesting for the culture that is also obsessed with soap operas. One could say that many more movies that do not even mention Arthur could be based on the Arthurian legend if they imitate courtly love. Any movie with a love triangle could be game. However, the key element of courtly love is that there must be a third party. If the love is not forbidden it just is not worth the trouble. The first movie examined for the comparison was Disney s The Sword in the Stone. Without even watching it, one knows there are striking differences. One main reason for several differences if that the movie is a cartoon and is geared towards children. A children s movie is not going to try to ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 31. The Ethical Considerations Of Ethics Ethical Considerations Ethics is one of the most important considerations when making a decision about end of life. It is also where the most controversy lies as arguments, using ethical theories, can be made for and against laws on end of life. Ethics has at least two primary functions: to guide our actions, and to provide justification for the guidance given (Schuklenk et al., 2011, p. 42). A duty oriented ethicist would be against euthanasia and physician assisted death. They believe we can t stop all pain; what is crucial is that we act with dignity and respect in the face of suffering (Edge Groves, 2006, p.40). Kant s view is a person committing suicide takes the easy way out, where reason would dictate he or she face their problems (Schuklenk et al., 2011, p.38). Virtue ethicists would also be against euthanasia and physician assisted death. Virtue ethicists hold it is not only important to do the right thing but equally to have the right disposition, motivation, and traits for being good and doing right (Edge Groves, 2006, p.43). As a believer in God, a virtue ethicist would hold suicide as an unreasonable option. They would believe God to be the sole arbiter of life and death (Schuklenk et al., 2011, p.42) and therefore, the right thing to do would be for God to end their life as he sees fit. Contrary to these points is the belief in the protection of individual autonomy. Autonomy, as defined by Edge Groves (2006), is the freedom to choose ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Prior to that, we had the Vegas Golden Knights expansion draft, awkwardly held in the middle of an awards gala, and some good old fashioned wheeling and dealing. General managers have now returned home to celebrate their victories, or size up their losses, with five days before unrestricted free agency, which begins this Saturday, July 1. Toronto Maple Leafs manager Lou Lamoriello engaged Snow in discussions that went far beyond setting initial parameters. There was a deal reportedly in place that was centered around Hamonic and 28 year old winger James Van Reimsdyk that multiple sources told SNY fell apart due to the Islanders being on the players 10 team no trade list in addition to concerns over a contract extension, given that Van Reimsdyk will be an unrestricted free agent next July. If they enter a building, they will often dry out and die. The purpose of this experiment was to observe the trend of sowbug preference. Our hypothesis was that sowbugs prefer grass to sand as a ground covering because grass is more suitable to them due to its moisture level and that it contains decaying matter. When time was completed we observed which side, grass or sand, the sowbug had preferred. Then, the sowbug was removed and a new one was placed in the container. The same steps were taken for each of the 20 bugs. RESULTS Our hypothesis was that sowbugs prefer grass to sand as a ground covering because grass is more suitable to them due to its moisture level and that it contains decaying matter.
