Teaching At A Community Special School Essay
Teaching in the hospital provides learning at a community special school or a foundation school
located within a hospital under special arrangement by section nineteen of the education act (DFE,
2015). The aim of hospital teaching is to provide education to those pupils who are deemed by
medical practitioners to require this type of teaching due to health needs. (DFE, 2013)
Teaching in the hospital school contains many members of staff including trained teachers, Higher
Level Teaching Assistants (HLTA) and Learning mentors all working together in the learning zone. If
a child is well enough to attend the learning zone they can for a group session within the afternoon. If
a child is isolated the child will receive appropriate education at their bedside. Children who spend
longer than five days within hospital will receive education on day five of their stay, if a child is a
recurrent patient they will receive education on day one (East SILC, 2016). The hospital school works
with the child s primary school once a referral is completed. Teachers and other members of staff work
with the information given to them and focus on aspects of the national curriculum and most
importantly what work the child would be completing if they were able to attend school.
Aims
The aims of this reflective report are to demonstrate the difference in teaching and learning for pupils
within this setting. Also understand the impact one to one support has on a child. Finally to gain
understanding in

Early Literacy Experiences
A brain is a wonderful thing to have. Why waste it? Well, research shows that reading makes you
smarter. Although you may not notice but you read every day. From little things like a stop sign to a
chapter book or your homework. Reading has an effect on your grades and your IQ. Scientist have
proven on different test subjects or even identical twins that the ones who don t read that often have a
lower grade level then the person who does read often.
According to Teach Reading early, In the first six years, children learn at a much faster pace than at
any other time in their lives. This shows how if you teach your kid how to read in the first six years
that s when they can actually develop in reading and have a higher grade level then kids ... Show more

parents would come over to her and complement about how young she s reading Shakespeare at.
When all the parents left her she d take out her crayons and color in the margins. Now when she goes

A Brief Note On Workforce Injury Or Death
Workforce injury or death In the construction business, health and safety is the most concerning risk.
Working on construction site is very physically demanding job and also very dangerous. There are
many sources of potential danger from injuries caused by working with the tools/material/equipment,
to the fatal accidents caused by negligence. Examples of such an events: falls from heights, slips from
scaffolding, electrocutions, falling objects, explosions, overexertion, vehicle related accidents...  To
control these risks, safety standards have to be met at all times and monitored frequently. All
employees should be trained and informed about Health Safety standards; supervisors have to be
responsible for ensuring safety measures are in place on every construction site and if something goes
wrong, they should be held accountable. Accident and injury rates should be carefully monitored on
regular basis. Examples of simple but crucial safety rules include: work areas should be clear of
obstructions; slippery surfaces should be reported immediately; safety net should be installed to
prevent objects from falling on workers; all workers should be provided with electrical safety training;
visibly mark the area for vehicles only. As mentioned in the annual report 2015, good practice has
already been established on our sites in order to reduce the health risks defibrillators were provided at
as many workplaces as possible. Failure to win and retain contracts our business

The Similiarities between Christianity and Judaism Rituals
The Similarities Between Christianity and Judaism Rituals
Out of all the religions in the world Christianity and Judaism in my opinion have the most similar rites
and rituals. They also share many beliefs and flow many of the same rules. Even though some of the
rituals might seem like they are completely different, when you look deeply and find the true meaning,
you will see that most of the time they share the same message. But even with all of these similarities
its the differences that make them unique and these differences are what splits them apart. The three
main similarities in both Christianity and Judaism is the first step into adult hood, the last step into
adult hood and the Shabbat and the Sabbath.
In christianity the first step into adult hood is baptism. A baptism usually happened when you are still
a baby. The purpose of a baptism is to purify and surrender yourself to god. But this ritual doesn t
always happen at birth. Some parents will wait until there son or daughter is older so they can make
this decision for them selfs. Judaism has something that is a little unorthodox its called circumcision.
Circumcision is a process where they cut off a section of the foreskin. This also usually happens when
you are a baby. Genies 17 in the Tanakh has a section where they talk about circumcision. But not all
jewish people practice this ritual. It depends on which branch you are.
In Christianity one of the most important rituals is called conformation. This

Analysis Of The Book By Alex Haley
1) Alex Haley wrote the book due to the several interviews he had with Malcolm X. Malcolm is
technically the author of the book due to the fact that those are his words and that Malcolm X narrates
the novel . 2) The difference between the two is that a biography is the writing of ones life written by
another individual in third person. A autobiography is the writing of ones life written by that same
individual and/or protagonist in first person. 3) Malcolm X did not know his biological father because
his father was killed in 1931 by white supremacists. Malcolm was at the young age of 6 and had little
memory of his father. 4) Skin color and hair texture had a major impact on the family and in the
society itself. Due to the fact that Malcolm ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

This article addressed a study of a cognitive behavioral course to increase a sense of coherence (SOC)
and decrease perceived stress (PS). Low SOC and high PS are factors that lead to burnout and low job
satisfaction. They can also contribute to low quality of care and productivity. Therefore, it is expected
that if a nurse has high SOC and low PS, the nurse will have higher productivity and will be better at
managing stress. The study consisted of 36 nurses that had five or more years of experience and had
worked both as a bedside nurse and in an administrative role. They were divided into intervention and
control groups and all participants took surveys at the beginning of week one and the end of week 16
that included the Perceived Stress Scale (PSS) and the Profile of Mood States (POMS). The
intervention group participated in a cognitive behavioral (CB) interventions during three hour
seminars weekly for 16 weeks. The seminar topics addressed issues to modify negative thinking and
improve problem solving skills. They also learned relaxation skills that included breathing techniques
and progressive muscle training. Bias was avoided by having similar socio demographic
characteristics among the participants. The chi square test, t tests, and univariate analysis of
covariance were used to test significance of the study. The results revealed a significant decrease in PS

Listeria Monocytogenes Canada
Listeria monocytogenes is a dangerous bacterium capable of contaminating food products if not
successfully controlled. The foodborne illness listeriosis is often the result of consuming foods tainted
with this pathogen. As a result, Canada has developed a Policy on Listeria monocytogenes in Ready to
Eat foods to help protect Canadians from this bacterium and its detrimental effects. This paper will
thoroughly examine the origin of this federal policy, the influences on its creation and its amendments.
The stakeholders influencing the construction as well as the impacts this policy has had in Canada will
also be considered, leaving a well rounded understanding on this fundamental policy.

37 The purpose of this latest amendment was to ultimately improve the oversight and compliance
activities of R.T.E foods with respect to their potential to support the growth of Listeria. For example,
it is now a requirement that environmental monitoring programs are incorporated in to all plants and
are used in the production of R.T.E food products. 38 Furthermore, the definition of R.T.E foods was
updated and expanded upon with regards to which foods display the potential to grow of L.
monocytogenes and a more detailed list of foods prone to contamination. 39 This policy revision also
focused aimed to provide an even greater focus to at protecting the high risk members of society,
specifically the infants, pregnant women and the elderly. 40 This aspect of the 2011 policy decision
was greatly influenced by the European cases of listeriosis regarding the decision to utilize more
efficient risk communication programs intended to protect these vulnerable groups, specifically the
aging members of society. 41 The majority of European cases have been attributed to elderly
population, as they are exceedingly prone to becoming ill. Therefore, this provided even more need to
center the policy on these at risk groups.

Computing Of Data And Homomorphic Encryption Essay
Introduction Cloud Services have become more popular as they provide a lot of advantages like high
speed processing ,Flexibility and Disaster recovery. The problem is Security of data and how to ensure
that data being processed at the cloud is secure The motivation behind choosing this topic is the many
advantages of Computing of encrypted data and homomorphic encryption (HE) like Delegation which
is when a client can delegate the process of data to the powerful third party (server) while still
maintaining data privacy. To this end, the client could send the server an encryption of the data,
created employing an HE scheme. The server is able to run processes over the encrypted data, and
return an output to the client; the client needs only to decrypt to receive the processed answer. The
server here can actually be a collection of computing devices (cloud). In addition to delegation, remote
file storage can be more than ever secure with Homomorphic encryption(HE), In a motivating
example, consider a user that wants to run a keyword search on its entire set of encrypted data.
Without HE, since the server can t tell which documents contain the keyword, it would be forced to
send the entire set of encrypted data back to the user, who could decrypt it and look for the keyword.
With HE, however, the server can simply run the keyword search algorithm with the encrypted
keyword and the set of encrypted data, and send an encrypted list of documents containing the
keyword back to the

This is more so in Knowledge management as knowledge creation and transfer are largely depend on
cognitive processes exercised by the human brain and what is more involves socio cultural

interactions in knowledge transfer are the most amorphous and form the bulk of tacit knowledge. To
capture the inclinations of respondents on them, the following statements were provided in the
questionnaire. Wasko and Faraj explain using social capital theory that a strong culture embedded in
network favors knowledge sharing. People contribute their knowledge when they perceive that it
enhances their professional reputations, when they have the experience to share, and when they are
structurally embedded in the network. Surprisingly, contributions occur without regard to expectations

To Kill A Mockingbird, And To Kill A Mockingbird
What does it mean to be oppressed? To be oppressed means to be have rights taken away, as a result of
discrimination. People can be judged by their race, financial situation, gender, etc. and can do nothing
about this discrimination because so many other people strongly believe in segregating the community
by the standards that they ve set up. The image of a tiny person next to a large thumb, the poem I Look
at the World by Langston Hughes, the excerpt from Never Fall Down by Patricia McCormick, and the
novel To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee all illustrate what it means to be oppressed. The tiny
person in the image, the person from the poem, the person from the the excerpt, and characters from
To Kill a Mockingbird have been discriminated by the people in their society.
Source #1, an image of a small person standing under a giant thumb, depicts a scene where the person
is ultimately helpless. The hand is about one hundred times larger than the person. If the individual
were to even try to fight against it, the thumb would squish it in an instance. The hand also wears a
cuff, indicating that it must belong to a person of high status. Because of it s high status, it can treat
people that he feels are inferior to him any way he wants, and it knows that it wields more power than
the person it s got under it s thumb. Consequently, the person under the thumb is forced to stand still
and behave the way society, or the hand, wants it to. Moreover, his rights have been

How Did Alfred The Great Influence Society
The middle ages was a period of great territorial and social instability throughout Europe. After the
fall of Rome, the Byzantine Empire gained control in the east, while in the west however, no single
empire arose from Rome s ashes (citation). During the 800s or near the end of the early medieval ages,
Christians in southern England were in constant battle with the Danes who controlled northern
Europe. These groups of seven kingdoms in southern England were known as the Anglo Saxons.
Among the leaders of the seven Anglo Saxon kingdoms who were threatened by the Danes march
toward the south was Alfred the Great, Ruler of the small kingdom of Wessex. After uniting the Anglo
Saxon Kingdoms (Southern England) and defeating then Danes in the battle of Ethandun, Alfred the
Great continued to transform ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Alfred the Great was born in Wantage, United Kingdom sometime in 849 AD. As the 4th and youngest
son of his father, Æthelwulf of Wessex, Alfred was never expected to succeed to the throne of Wessex,
but after his brother Aethelred s death in 871 he became King of Wessex. As king he united seven
Anglo Saxon kingdoms and began his military campaign against the ever closing threat, the Vikings.
One of Alfred s greatest accomplishments was his ability to lead his military into battle and protect his
people by repelling Viking raids on the Anglo Saxon kingdoms. Alfred accomplished this by the
formation of a standing army whose main purpose was to provide Wessex with a military group that
was mobile enough to quickly intercept Viking raiders and prevent raids from threatening Wessex
civilians (Reuter 220). Although these small military groups may not have been as robust as a regular

A Good Guy With A Gun
Wayne LaPierre, an American author and gun rights advocate, once said, The only thing that stops a
bad guy with a gun is a good guy with a gun, which is an expression that has no implication with
civilians stopping a criminal during a crime scene and is a statement that continues to lead everyone
getting hurt in the end. No mass shooting in the past thirty years has been stopped by an armed
civilian. A good guy with a gun has never contributed to stopping a felon during a crime scene, so why
would people believe that someone with a gun would try to stop someone else with a gun? During a
crime scene with an offender threatening people with a gun, a civilian trying to use their gun just
makes the situation worse and causes more chaos. A good guy with a gun will not be extremely
helpful or effective against a bad guy with a gun, just more pandemonium. Also, when a firearm dealer
is selling a gun to a stranger, he does not know whether or not that stranger is a good guy or a bad guy,
so what if he was a bad guy? What if that same night, the man he just sold a gun to was going to use
that same gun to kill an innocent family in their own home?
Right now, there is no effective way for people to know who the bad guy is and who the good guy is,
so people just end up selling guns to nearly everyone who can pay for one. Today in United States
history, gun control laws are very weak and ineffective in controlling the great harms and dangers than
can be caused by guns. Guns lead to

Infections of the American Chestnut Tree Essay
Cryphonectria parasitica, a filamentous, ascomycete fungus, is the causal agent of the chestnut
blight5,14 which was introduced to North America from Japan circa 190412,14.The chestnut blight
infects all members of the Castanea family14, and some members of the genus Quercus though C.
parasitica infections are superficial14. A C. parasitica infection typically begins at a branch node or
wound in the tree s bark 14. Once a spore has entered the tree, hyphal growth begins14. When the
fungi s hyphae reach the cambium, the xylem and phloem are blocked, cutting off the transport of
water and nutrients and a sunken canker is formed14. Eventually, the lack of water and nutrients kills
the tree above the point of infection14. As a fungus, C. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
One excellent use for blight resistant American chestnuts is reclaiming surface mines. Though other
species of trees can survive in the harsh conditions typical of surface mines, they have little to no
value as lumber and provide little for wildlife4. Chestnuts would also provide a fast growing lumber
source, one that is lightweight, strong, and moderately rot resistant. Additionally, the large nut crops
produced by the American chestnut would increase the ecosystems carrying capacity for wildlife, and
moderate population fluctuations that follow mast (nut crop) fluctuations. For these and other reasons
which space here does not permit, restoring the American chestnut is worthwhile endeavor.
Although C. dentata is not resistant to an infection by the blight fungus, it is not entirely defenseless.
One attempt at warding off C. parasitica is the growth of callus encircling the fungi s mycelium to
prevent its spread (cite). This may or may not work, in either case the fungi will spread to another site
on the tree via sporulation. A second barrier to blight infection is the chestnut s relatively high levels
of tannic acid(s) in the cambium (cite). However, as will be discussed later, tannic acids may benefit
the blight. The most promising method for increasing C. denata s blight resistance is The American
Chestnut Foundation s breeding program. To give the chestnut the advantage in its battle with its
evolutionary foe, it is necessary to study the factors that make C.

Why Was Simon Bolivar More Important Than The Liberator
When it comes to the phrase A brilliant soldier but a poor politician I agree to the fullest extent that
Simon Bolivar was indeed this. He was one of the most powerful figures in world political history. He
led the independence movement for six nations; Venezuela, Columbia, Panama, Ecuador, Peru, and
Bolivia. After liberating all of these countries he was soon after nicknamed The Liberator . ◾After
hundreds of years of domination by Spain, Bolívar was instrumental in moving South America closer
to democratic governments. Bolívar successfully waged a number of military campaigns throughout
South America, defeating the Spanish on numerous occasions. But he is also essentially responsible
for the political instability that plagues the region ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Throughout the course of his whole lifetime he was able to free almost all of northern South America,
and at this point he was known as El Liberator. When studying South American independence efforts,
it is physically impossible to bypass Simon Bolivar because of his prevalence in all countries. He was
able to weave himself into the independence efforts of many countries, including Venezuela, Ecuador,
Colombia, Peru, and Bolivia. He was able to free these countries through a multitude of ways and had
significant effects on these countries, even to the extent that he is still known as El Libertador today.
In 1810, Venezuela s independence movement declared independence from Spain, and a new
government was created. However, the movement was defeated by Spain, and Bolívar was forced to
flee to Cartagena, Colombia. In 1813, fighting once again broke out between the rebels and the
Spanish. This time Bolívar and his troops successfully defeated the Spanish. Bolívar then went to New
Granada (present day Colombia) and took command of military forces. In May 1814, he captured the
capital, Bogotá. Bolívar believed that South America should have a parliamentary government
modeled after England but with a president for life. By 1821, Bolívar had successfully liberated
Venezuela, Ecuador, and New Granada and found the Republic of Gran

Nursing And Electronic Medical Records
Nursing and Electronic Medical Records Thomas Stinde April 28, 2016 Coconino Community
College Nursing and Electronic Medical Records In our society today, we have a broad range of
computer technology for our use. This technology in the nursing field is called informatics.
Informatics is defined as a combination of computer science, information science, and nursing science
designed to assist in the management and processing of nursing data, information, and the knowledge
to support the practice of nursing and the delivery of nursing care (Thede, 1). Nearly anywhere we go,
and whatever career we choose we all need to have basic computer skills. Computers are used in the
health care profession due to an increase of productivity they can provide, therefore allowing for
better patient care. Computers also allow for hospitals, doctor s offices, and other healthcare facilities
to change over to and begin keeping electronic medical records (EMR). An EMR has the medical
information that the doctors and nurses obtain when you have an office visit. The patient s paper
medical record is put into an EMR program is basically made into a digital version of that patient s
medical information. The patient s healthcare provider can then use these EMRs for diagnoses and
treatment. There can be advantages and disadvantages for healthcare providers to transition to an
EMR system, and those providers will have to decide which one will outweigh the other. Discussion

The Effect Of Urbanization On Wildlife
In modern day urban settings, it is not uncommon to walk outside and experience Madagascar right in
the city parks. OK, maybe not quite Madagascar yet, but cities are getting there. The wildlife that used
to live out in the wild are now migrating into urban areas because there are no resources left for them
in their original homes. The problem is humans. Humans have taken over the resources, homes, and
economies that animals need to survive, so they are forced to come closer and closer to humans. The
movement caused by this is creating many problems between humans and the animals that are forced
to move. Urban wildlife is beginning to cause damage to the environment and needs to be stopped.
The effect that urbanization has on wildlife is ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
One of the causes of fear loss is caused by animals being too closely associated with the millions of
humans that surround them on a daily basis. The animals are forced to reside in human habitat because
they have nowhere else to live. The closeness can cause alterations and some urban animals trade
personal space for the convenience of the city (Soniak). Species continue to be made to live side by
side to humans and breathe the exact same air that they do. They practically share homes with humans
now because of the lack of space and the excessive populations of urban wildlife. What used to be
considered taboo is presently different because the relationship between humans and large predators is
changing (Mahoney). Large predators who lose their fears and approach humans in search for food or
water are put in danger because humans misunderstand the animals and what they are trying to tell
them. They may view a harmless approach for food as a murder spree targeted straight at them.
Another problem that follows urbanization is the harmony between humans and animals that has been
around for years is now being disturbed. The amount of wildlife deaths in urban cities is rising as
more human populations expand and grow. Some threats to urban wildlife include: habitat loss, light
and noise pollution, invasive species, chemical runoff/ pollution and habitat fragmentation. For the

The, Wildlife, And The Natural Land, By Henry David Thoreau
Just years after the Industrial Revolution, a time at which engineering and the economy became the
main concerns of the population, many of the American people forgot the importance of the land that
provided the resources that sustained them. In a time where there was believed to be nowhere but
society to reside in, few refuted the idea that the wilderness was really so uncivilized. In his 1845
memoir, Henry David Thoreau describes his experiences living in a quaint cabin, in the wilderness ,
alongside Walden Pond near Concord, Massachusetts. Presenting his findings of being self reliable,
Thoreau depicts what his life was like alone in the woods with only nature to ease one s mind and
solitude to provide company. With detailed ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
He accordingly conveys this idea by stating that society only believes in intrinsic value and only once
one can seclude themselves from the portrait of society can one come to find instrumental value.
Continuing with his descriptions of the Walden Pond during winter, Thoreau presents the idea of
overconsumption and sustainability throughout the book. While observing the ice cutters at Walden
Pond, Thoreau comments on human effort to exploit nature, arguing that the actions are in vain as
nature regenerates much faster than it can be threatened, which is very debatable due to the knowledge
that there is only a finite amount of resources on the planet. Thoreau thoroughly believes in his idea of
self reliance and states that there are only four necessities that should determine one s ability to
survive: food, shelter, clothing, and fuel, many of which he believes nature provides graciously. This
refutes the idea that prosperity is dependent widescale economic surplus. Thoreau makes his argument
clear, writing that any attempt at luxury is likely to prove more as a hinderance that an aid to one s
individual improvement as in Economy when he writes Most men, even in this comparatively free
country, through mere ignorance and mistake, are so

Human Pollination On Bees
Are we obligated to protect and secure the future of the bees? Humankind tends to take for granted
where our food comes from and do not think twice about it, let alone the process of pollination. The
manner in which we regard the bees not only has an effect on us but, it also affects a multitude of
species. However, we are able to do our part to lessen our negative impact on the bees. If educating
humankind would alleviate suffering of many species such as bees, we would then be obligated to
save the them. Bees are some of the most feared insects on the planet but aside from their sting they
are quite a complex and beneficial creature. There are over 20,000 species of bees on the planet
(Spivak,2013). They are often associated with honey however, they play a far more important role,
they pollinate. Bees are responsible for about 80 percent of pollination worldwide and a single colony
is able to pollinate upwards of 300 million flowers each day (Greenpeace.org). Although there are
ways for human pollination it is often a painstaking and time consuming process. Studies have also
shown that human pollination is not as effective (Spivak, 2013)). With 90 percent of the worlds
nutrition dependent upon bees we need to support the bees with pollination (Greenpeace.org). If we

Sexual Violence and The Adam Walsh Act
Sexual assault occurs every two minutes in the United States. Sexual violence against women is still
endemic in the United States. Statistics show nearly one in five women have been sexually assaulted.
Managing sex offenders is still an issue in the criminal justice system. Repeat offenders are extremely
difficult to monitor. The national legislature monitoring system contains an absence of effective
research in monitoring sex offenders. Sexual offender registration and notification Act (SORNA)
operates in all the US states and territories. The objective is to monitor and track sex offenders by law
enforcement. Also they provide information to the public and the communities about the offenders.
For example, the National registry allows the public to be informed of a registered offender and their
demographics.
The Adam Walsh Act (AWA) was instilled to create greater uniformity in SORNA systems in all the
US states and territories. SORNA is an essential component of the AWA. The act requires
standardizing the registration of sex offenders, and community notification practices. There are two
ways notification is practiced for registered sex offenders. Communities vary in which way to notify
residents. Some communities choose active notification. Active notification is where residents are
informed that a registered sex offender lives nearby. Residents are notified by phone, mail, or face to
face. The other form of notification that is practiced is called passive notification.

Abstract In this paper I will analyze the case study of Mattel Inc. and their Global Manufacturing

poverty, abundant labor, and need for job creation provided unprecedented opportunities for large

Typically, children act without reasoning things out in the mature way that adults do (or can do); and
they act much more out of immediate desires or passions rather than the rational desires that adults

its production facilities and contract manufacturers. Called the Global Manufacturing Principles
(GMP), the code covered such issues as wages and hours, child labor, forced labor, discrimination,
freedom of association, legal and ethical business practices, product safety and product quality,
protection of the environment, and respect for local cultures, values, and traditions. This process led to
the development of more than 200 specific standards. They define the compliance parameters for each
principle and cover all aspects of manufacturing operations; environment health and safety standards;
worker hiring and training; working conditions; working hours, performance bonuses, wages, and

for 20 other countries where Mattel had operations. These documents are continuously revised in light
of changes in local labor and environmental laws. Honesty A virtue such as honesty or generosity is

Personal Narrative-Padre Island

Positive Impact Of Two Stable Biological Parents On Children
Positive Impact of Two Stable Biological Parents on Children
The debate on the type of family structure that has a positive influence on children has been widely
contentious. In the recent years, the family structure has continued to change. Many people in the
modern society have continued to change their attitudes when it comes to matters of marriage and
raising children. There are more single parents in the society today as a result of divorce and
separations. Consequently, this has contributed to an increase in the number of children brought up by
single parents. The current changes in family structure have become an issue of public concern
because of the effect it has on both the parents and children. It is evident that children who are brought
up by two biological parents do well as compared to children raised by single parents. Biological
parents in this case refer to married couples who relate to their children through blood (Bachman et
al., 2012). The single parent can be a biological father or mother who takes care of the needs of his or
her children. Two biological parents play an important role in providing the children with necessary
support during younger age by employing various parenting styles and practices. Marriage is a social
norm and the idea of raising children should be a combined effort of both parents. Children raised by
single parents lack good parental care and support which impact on their lives years later. This paper
discusses why two biological

Little Red Riding Hood and Grandmother’s Tale Essay
Little Red Riding Hood and Grandmother s tale
Folktales has created men as the most powerful character in most stories but that does not mean
always as there s a difference in Grandmother s tale and Little Red Riding hood. Different genders
have different expectations according to their characteristics. The Red Riding Hood and Grandmother
s tale has produced ideas such as how a girl s life is looked upon in the past and how the male has the
upper hand in most situations according to the stories. This essay will argue about how the girl s
gender played a major role in the context of the story and how the wolf is represented by a male
character and why the male is not always the most powerful character in all stories and the comparison

This is because needles are much harder to master and takes a lot of time to be good at it while pins
are easy to use so this could mean that the male character has more experience than the female in life
so he took the path of needles. In grandmother s tale the wolf puts the grandmother s blood and flesh
for the girl to eat and drink. But the girl did not know anything about it so she drank it and while she
was doing so the cat and the bird could represent society as they tried to stop her from drinking the
grandmother s blood. But she did not listen to what they were saying and listened to the wolf who then
tells her to take off [her] clothes and come to bed . By doing what the wolf says this may be
interpreted as how the wolf is trying to transform the girl into being like him by doing what he does.
This could also mean the male character has more sexual experiences than the girl. Because needles
are harder to use than pins which mean without practice needles can hurt.
Furthermore, in Red Riding Hood she was wearing red which is the colour of blood as she was a
virgin she became the prey of the wolf. The colour red attracts unnecessary attention when she was
going through the forest. This tells us how naïve young girls can be and not being aware of her
surroundings. She was born in a village so comparing to the children in the cities she is more

Death Penalty Is Cruel And Unusual Punishment
The legal executions first started in California when it was under the Practices Act in 1851. Then in
February 14th 1872 it was put in the Penal Code. Capital punish in counties continued until an
amendment by the legislature in 1891 said that it could only happen in the State Prisons picked by the
court. The first state execution in California happens on March 3rd 1893 at San Quentin and the first
one in Folsom was on December 13th 1895. In the 1937 s the legislature decided that instead of
hanging people they were going to use lethal gas. This did not affect the people that were already
sentenced to be hanged and the last hanging was in December 3rd 1937 at Folsom and the last hanging
in Quentin was hold on May 1st 1942. Twenty five years after 1967 because of the United States
Supreme Court choices there were no executions. In 1962 the Supreme Court thought that death
penalty as cruel and unusual punishment. Because of this 107 people had their sentences changed to
something that was not death. In November 1972 nine months after they had this choice the California
electorate amended the state constitution overruled it. Then in 1973 the Supreme Court decided that
the death penalty was unconstitutional. The California legislation was passed in 1973, which meant
that the death penalty could only happen under certain conditions. These conditions were kidnapping

Revenue allocation or the statutory distribution of revenue from the Federation Account among the

(e) Principle of Fiscal Equalization: In order to ensure a minimum level of public goods and services
same degree of fiscal equalization is required. This is as a result of differences in resource endowment.

(g) The Principle of Derivation: The component units of a system should be able to control some of its
own resources as they desire.
(h) The Principle of Locational Neutrality: Interregional fiscal differences tend to influence location

The Grandmother O Connor Analysis
This family is portrayed by O Connor as wannabe perfectionism by thinking they are better than they
truly are, but the grandmother specifically is the worst of them. She tries to convince the family to
take a trip to Tennessee rather than Florida which is their usual vacation spot. The grandma persuades
them all by saying that there is a misfit of an escaped convict in Florida to make the decision on where
to go a no brainer. Bailey knows that wherever they go, grandma will also go. On the trip towards
Florida, they detour to an unknown road the grandma thought she visited before, unfortunate events
happen while on this road; her cat gets out of its cage and manages to startles the driver Bailey who
ends up crashing and getting them killed.
The grandmother s concern for the trip is ironic since the trip ends up going sour even though the
grandma had tried avoiding possible dangerous situation especially with the scare of the escaped
convict. Grandmothers concern foreshadows the trip, first the fact that she dressed in a floral dress and
hat, just in case of an accident people would know she is a lady, as if preparing for a possible funeral.

An autobiographical sketch is when the author writes about their own experience. This is exactly what
Jack London does in his story A Raid on the Oyster Pirates . London is very skilled in the art of
character development. This explains how he was able to create such developed characters to the point
where they almost seem like real people. In A Raid on the Oyster Pirates by Jack London a lot of
detail is shown through Charley, Mr. Taft, and Centipede in terms of how they act and speak. Charley
is a good friend of the narrator. He can be viewed as very forgiving because of how he treated the

came to writing this story. Considering he was writing about his own experiences, it must have been

The Advantages And Disadvantages Of Biodiesel Fuel
Biodiesel Word count:
Introduction
Biodiesels are one way new energy sources are developed. Biodiesel refers to a vegetable oil or
animal fat based diesel fuel consisting of long chain alkyl esters. Biodiesel is typically made by
chemically reacting lipids (e.g., vegetable oil, animal fat with an alcohol producing fatty acid esters).
The origin of biodiesel fuel, the earlier engines worked so smoothly on earth nut or pea nut oil that
only a few people were aware of it. These engines were then worked on vegetable oil without making
any alterations.
Discussion
Biodiesel fuel is believed by many to be the fuel of the future. As a clean burning alternative, the bio
fuel comes from 100% renewable resources. Biodiesel can be used in pure form or may be blended
with petroleum diesel at any concentration in most injection ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

Disadvantages of biodiesel fuel
At present, Biodiesel fuel is bout one and a half times more expensive than petroleum diesel fuel.
It requires energy to produce biodiesel fuel from soy crops; plus there is the energy of sowing,
fertilizing and harvesting.
Another biodiesel fuel disadvantage is that it can harm rubber hoses in some engines.
As Biodiesel cleans the dirt from the engine, this dirt can then get collected in the fuel filter, thus
clogging it. So, filters have to be changed after the first several hours of biodiesel use.
Biodiesel fuel distribution infrastructure needs improvement, which is another of the biodiesel fuel
disadvantages. The environmental and economical impact of a biodiesel, and factors that are used to
evaluate a biodiesel
A number of environmental effects of biodiesel fuel are also surfacing associated with its use. These
biodiesel fuel environmental effects potentially include decrease in greenhouse gas emissions,
deforestation, pollution and the rate of biodegradation.

The Effectiveness of William Shakespeare s Use of...
The Effectiveness of William Shakespeare s Use of Supernatural in the Final Act of Richard III
Richard III was written by William Shakespeare and tells the story of how Richard III wants to
become king and does everything in his power to get there by assassinating members of his family to
do so, for example, the Duke of Clarence, Lord Hastings, Lady Anne, Lord Rivers, the Duke of
Buckingham, Henry VI, Prince Edward, Prince Edward V and Prince Richard. The last Act contains
many supernatural elements such as ghosts of the people Richard III has murdered or got killed and
curses, for example, Buckingham remembering Margaret s curse, prophecies and dreams, a message
from the supernatural from the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
By making the play more theatrical, the audience can see the individual personalities of the characters.
For example Richard seen as a belligerent, vicious, vulgar, hideous person who wants to prove that he
is a villain.
One example of the paranormal in Act V is when Richard refers to how the ghosts make him feel
responsible: O coward conscience, how dost thou afflict me but he is able to see it differently. Also
this recalls Margaret s curse: the worm of conscience still begnaw thy soul, which meant that the
centre of his conscience would incessantly affect his soul forever. This shows that Richard is feeling
guilty, he fears the ghostly vengeance of all the people he had killed and that the curses made by the
ghosts will affect him when he goes to war. Richard is able to calm himself down: What do I fear? this
proves that he has no feeling for anyone, no conscience and is going to prove that he is a villain
despite his earlier attack of remorse.
Here, Shakespeare s use of supernatural is effectual because it reminds us of the members of family
killed by Richard to become king and is more dramatic. It is more dramatic because it shows Richard
deserves to die as his punishment and people will be punished if they commit vile things. This makes
the scene look more theatrical and stimulating, this enables the audience to see what is going on inside
Richard s head and whether we

the fact that users get paid for reading all the classic books. It is indeed one of the most engaging and

approach of this game is slightly different as it takes into account the machine slot approach there is a
complete possibility of getting a prize. It offers for upgrades that are paid with every session having

minor interruptions from the advertisements. For winning one must get a few matching stars. Once

Hierarchy Of Maslow s Hierarchy
Development: Maslow s Hierarchy The human body is changing all the time and it happens differently
in everyone. Not everyone is going to mature or evolve at the same pace or in the same time. Some
people have things in their childhood that may stunt their development or delay it somewhat. The way
you are raise influences how you mature. Maslow s Hierarchy explains how we have 8 things that
everyone needs to get us to our potential. Without them all we will not reach that. Everyone is
different though, within each step not everyone needs the whole process to be comfortable with
moving on up on the pyramid of steps to the top. For some people they will never make all the way to

The hierarchy is broken down into two different components but has eight steps. The first four needs
(bottom to top) are called your deficiency needs and the top needs are your growth needs. You need
your four base needs they are essential in your development. They are the things that one person
absolutely needs to be able to be comfortable not with just themselves but with everything around
them. These are the needs that are most likely to be jumped over and missed in the early stages of a
humans life. The top four are the ones that will take you above and beyond just living and surviving in
the world. These are the difference between living and thriving (McGuinness n.p.). At the very base of
the pyramid are your physiological needs. These are the things that not one human being can live
without. You absolutely need these to even survive. These are anywhere from food, air, shelter,
warmth, sleep, and something to drink. Without these a human being would cease to exist in our
world. These essential things are the first things anyone needs and that everyone looks for. If you do

Soccer Vs Soccer Essay
Two of the most popular sports worldwide have drastically different followings depending on the
country. Even though people say soccer is more popular, there is no real debate on why Football is
king. Both sports have changed cultures and impacted citizens, but which one is ultimately better? The
first football game was played about 150 years ago, and has grown to one of the largest followings in
the United States. American people have grown up in a society that is swarmed in a Footballistic
Culture. During the fall season all talks and conversations are about how good the Patriots are doing
or who has the best fantasy team, but by now this seems normal. To an average American boy this is
nothing unnatural to hear about on a daily basis, and for even some they dread the talks of Football.
However there are a select few that eat, breathe, and live football. Everything they do revolves around
decisions their head coaches make and their lifestyles are compromised by star player decisions.
Nevertheless Football has numerous aspects which make it superior to soccer. The First reason is the
specialization of Offense and Defense, which allows players to devote their entire career to one side of
the ball. This allows a player who feels strongly about a position to master all aspects of it and to
become the best at it. If a player is all about destroying the offensive line and being disruptive as
possible, then the defensive line is the perfect match up. Forcing players

Louis Riel s Treatment Of The Insane Essay
I am born 1835 and am a physician and a superintendent from the Toronto Lunatic Asylum. I have had
10 years of the treatment of the insane. When I had encountered Riel, he imagined that he would go to
Saskatchewan and he would gather such a big force so that he would become the monarch of
Saskatchewan. I think that no sane man would think of such things. He had travelled between Ottawa
and The United States as well as knowing the powers of Britain. For him to think that he would be
able to train a successful army out of untrained Saskatchewan people as well as believing that he
would divide the country into seven divisions would not be normal with a man with this
understanding. He also is a Roman Catholic and among them, he went among endeavoring to
conciliate them to get them educated on the schemes that he had and says that he wants to dispose the
pope.
I also have a source of several other thing of Riel s youth. Bishop Tache has shown me letters from
Riel that shows that he has a boastful and presumptuous nature. ... Show more content on

His father s death caused Louis excessive grief. My wife and I brought him from college to our home
to console him, but he was broken hearted, inconsolable. I saw that his profound grief affected his
mind which was manifested by the exaggerations of an eccentric religion; he threw himself into an
excess of piety and held religious views which I found unreasonable. My wife noticed it too and said
he became very melancholy . After that, I was told that Louis Riel had still remained solitary even
after a long time after his father had died. Riel had hallucinations as well as telling people that he
looked like Louis Riel s twin brother and that Louis Riel had drowned in the Mississippi river. This
shows that as Louis Riel was so filled of sorrow that saying that he supposedly drowned in the
Mississippi river might have driven him on the verge of

Reflective Essay On Leadership
I still struggle with feeling like there are enough hours in the day to do everything that needs to be
done. I find that there are still many days that I will work 10 hours, then handle family commitments,
then exercise, then try to spend time with friends, only to find that it s time to go to bed and I haven t
checked everything off my to do list. I have been trying to improve upon this skill in a few ways
including, choosing to be proactive, carefully considering how making a commitment impacts my
overall well being, and using a new calendar so that I can clearly see what commitments I have
already made and how adding a new one would impact my schedule.
Finally, there were two categories that I am currently working on improving which include begin with
the end in mind, and put first thing first. While these weren t m lowest scores, I do feel like there is a
great deal of room for growth within myself here. Now that I have a better understanding of my
leadership strengths and weaknesses, and hope to use this data to grow into an outstanding leader that
inspires others.
When reviewing my survey, I was able to see the areas I excel in and the areas that need improvement.
Based on these results, I think that the leadership that best describes my actions is situational
leadership theory. The situational Leadership theory says that there is no one method solves all
approach to leadership and that the situation will dictate what the correct action should be. To do this,

The Role Of Women s Suffrage In The United States
Women, for a long time, were one of the most undervalued assets essential to life in the late 1800s and
early 1900s. Throughout recorded history, women have been treated as less than men. They have been
viewed as simply a vessel for reproduction or a maid to do housework and prepare meals for her
husband. In many ancient cultures and some cultures today women are viewed merely as possessions.
Surprisingly, women were even oppressed in the United States, which was founded upon freedom and
equality. Women have been struggling to shed the chains of motherhood and be recognized as equal
human beings for as long as written records have been around. The unequal treatment of women was
often based on religion or tradition. The United States did not ... Show more content on

The supporters of inequality often feared changing old traditions. Some of the inequality had its base
rooted in religion. In the United States the predominant religion was Christianity. In the Bible, the man
is supposed to be the breadwinner of the family, while the woman oversees all the household duties.
People latched onto this idea which meant if you attacked that idea, you were attacking their religious
beliefs. What these people did not take into consideration is that when the Bible was written times
were different. When using historical accounts to develop ones beliefs you must take into
consideration that life may not be the same as it was when the event occurred. In Bible times, every
society was one hundred percent agrarian. This means when the Bible talks about men being
responsible for all the work and providing for his family, it is referring to the physical labor that must
go into producing food and running a farm. The Bible, for the most part, just divides the work of
having a family based on individual strengths. Men are biologically inclined to be physically stronger
and women are biologically inclined to nurture and be more gentle. The division of the work in that
way made sense during ancient times. The Bible does not say that women absolutely cannot do work
if they want to. It certainly does not encourage discrimination of women who do

Renaissance Era Research Paper
The Renaissance Era is a period approximately dated from the 1460 s to the 1600 s. It was a period
where reason was celebrated and advanced over metaphysics and mysticism. The general conclusion
when Renaissance comes to mind always seems to center around the growth of Art and Science. The
topic of the contributions made to Psychology by the citizens of the Renaissance Era is often
overlooked, and not many are privy to the role Psychology played in the development of the Era by
perfecting scientific methods and researching reason, thought, and mental illness. The Renaissance

Though the Renaissance Era is thought to have played a major role in giving birth to the modern
secular life, it began by looking backwards instead of forward to the future with the works of
Francesco Petrarch 1304 1374, who was an influential philosopher whose writings are said to have
marked the beginning of the Renaissance. Petrarch had particular interest in freeing the human spirit,
which he believed was held in the confines of medieval traditions and opted for a more personal
religion based on personal feelings and personal faith. Martin Luther, not to be confused as Civil
Rights leader Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. was an Augustinian Priest and biblical scholar who did not
agree with what he had witnessed Christianity turn into. His view of Christianity aligned with the
beliefs of St. Paul s and St. Augustine s than that of Aquinas. He believed everyone should suffer the
consequences of their sins, and that God was the only person any human being was answerable to. The
Renaissance was a paradoxical time. There was a growth of interest in human potential coupled with
human achievements, and simultaneously, there was also persecution, witch hunting, superstition,

The Article On Love, And Maybe Lose, A Foster Child By...
The article To Love, and Maybe Lose, a Foster Child by Maghan Moravcik Walbert relates to
marriage and family because it is about a child in a foster care system and a family trying to get the
child by going through court systems. Their biological son is very attached to the foster child and sees
him as his own sibling. The family buys the foster child everything he needs for like his birthday,
Christmas, and first day of school clothing.
The foster child does not live with them but they would tell him how much they love and miss him.
They also have a great relationship with the foster child s biological parents even though they do not
want their son in their life and are not willing to raise him so strangers raise him. They stated, On the
day it became clear to me that my time with my foster son is likely coming to an end, the bench under
me was hard. The walls surrounding me were grand and white. The ceiling above me was as high as
that of a cathedral.
Foster youth are become more independent and usually leave the parental home at age 23. In the

If a child is well enough to attend the learning zone they can for a group session within the afternoon. If a child is isolated the child will receive appropriate education at their bedside. Children who spend longer than five days within hospital will receive education on day five of their stay, if a child is a recurrent patient they will receive education on day one (East SILC, 2016). The hospital school works with the child s primary school once a referral is completed. Teachers and other members of staff work with the information given to them and focus on aspects of the national curriculum and most importantly what work the child would be completing if they were able to attend school. Aims The aims of this reflective report are to demonstrate the difference in teaching and learning for pupils within this setting. Also understand the impact one to one support has on a child. • 6. The Similiarities between Christianity and Judaism Rituals The Similarities Between Christianity and Judaism Rituals Out of all the religions in the world Christianity and Judaism in my opinion have the most similar rites and rituals. They also share many beliefs and flow many of the same rules. Even though some of the rituals might seem like they are completely different, when you look deeply and find the true meaning, you will see that most of the time they share the same message. But even with all of these similarities its the differences that make them unique and these differences are what splits them apart. The three main similarities in both Christianity and Judaism is the first step into adult hood, the last step into adult hood and the Shabbat and the Sabbath. In christianity the first step into adult hood is baptism. A baptism usually happened when you are still a baby. The purpose of a baptism is to purify and surrender yourself to god. But this ritual doesn t always happen at birth. Some parents will wait until there son or daughter is older so they can make this decision for them selfs. Judaism has something that is a little unorthodox its called circumcision. Circumcision is a process where they cut off a section of the foreskin. This also usually happens when you are a baby. Genies 17 in the Tanakh has a section where they talk about circumcision. But not all jewish people practice this ritual. It depends on which branch you are. • 14. Computing Of Data And Homomorphic Encryption Essay Introduction Cloud Services have become more popular as they provide a lot of advantages like high speed processing ,Flexibility and Disaster recovery. The problem is Security of data and how to ensure that data being processed at the cloud is secure The motivation behind choosing this topic is the many advantages of Computing of encrypted data and homomorphic encryption (HE) like Delegation which is when a client can delegate the process of data to the powerful third party (server) while still maintaining data privacy. To this end, the client could send the server an encryption of the data, created employing an HE scheme. The server is able to run processes over the encrypted data, and return an output to the client; the client needs only to decrypt to receive the processed answer. The server here can actually be a collection of computing devices (cloud). In addition to delegation, remote file storage can be more than ever secure with Homomorphic encryption(HE), In a motivating example, consider a user that wants to run a keyword search on its entire set of encrypted data. Without HE, since the server can t tell which documents contain the keyword, it would be forced to send the entire set of encrypted data back to the user, who could decrypt it and look for the keyword. With HE, however, the server can simply run the keyword search algorithm with the encrypted keyword and the set of encrypted data, and send an encrypted list of documents containing the keyword back to the ... People can be judged by their race, financial situation, gender, etc. and can do nothing about this discrimination because so many other people strongly believe in segregating the community by the standards that they ve set up. The image of a tiny person next to a large thumb, the poem I Look at the World by Langston Hughes, the excerpt from Never Fall Down by Patricia McCormick, and the novel To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee all illustrate what it means to be oppressed. The tiny person in the image, the person from the poem, the person from the the excerpt, and characters from To Kill a Mockingbird have been discriminated by the people in their society. Source #1, an image of a small person standing under a giant thumb, depicts a scene where the person is ultimately helpless. The hand is about one hundred times larger than the person. If the individual were to even try to fight against it, the thumb would squish it in an instance. The hand also wears a cuff, indicating that it must belong to a person of high status. Because of it s high status, it can treat people that he feels are inferior to him any way he wants, and it knows that it wields more power than the person it s got under it s thumb. A Good Guy With A Gun Wayne LaPierre, an American author and gun rights advocate, once said, The only thing that stops a bad guy with a gun is a good guy with a gun, which is an expression that has no implication with civilians stopping a criminal during a crime scene and is a statement that continues to lead everyone getting hurt in the end. No mass shooting in the past thirty years has been stopped by an armed civilian. A good guy with a gun has never contributed to stopping a felon during a crime scene, so why would people believe that someone with a gun would try to stop someone else with a gun? During a crime scene with an offender threatening people with a gun, a civilian trying to use their gun just makes the situation worse and causes more chaos. A good guy with a gun will not be extremely helpful or effective against a bad guy with a gun, just more pandemonium. Also, when a firearm dealer is selling a gun to a stranger, he does not know whether or not that stranger is a good guy or a bad guy, so what if he was a bad guy? What if that same night, the man he just sold a gun to was going to use that same gun to kill an innocent family in their own home? Right now, there is no effective way for people to know who the bad guy is and who the good guy is, so people just end up selling guns to nearly everyone who can pay for one. Today in United States history, gun control laws are very weak and ineffective in controlling the great harms and dangers than can be caused by guns. Guns lead to ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Infections of the American Chestnut Tree Essay Cryphonectria parasitica, a filamentous, ascomycete fungus, is the causal agent of the chestnut blight5,14 which was introduced to North America from Japan circa 190412,14.The chestnut blight infects all members of the Castanea family14, and some members of the genus Quercus though C. parasitica infections are superficial14. A C. parasitica infection typically begins at a branch node or wound in the tree s bark 14. Once a spore has entered the tree, hyphal growth begins14. When the fungi s hyphae reach the cambium, the xylem and phloem are blocked, cutting off the transport of water and nutrients and a sunken canker is formed14. Eventually, the lack of water and nutrients kills the tree above the point of infection14. As a fungus, C. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... One excellent use for blight resistant American chestnuts is reclaiming surface mines. Though other species of trees can survive in the harsh conditions typical of surface mines, they have little to no value as lumber and provide little for wildlife4. Chestnuts would also provide a fast growing lumber source, one that is lightweight, strong, and moderately rot resistant. Additionally, the large nut crops produced by the American chestnut would increase the ecosystems carrying capacity for wildlife, and moderate population fluctuations that follow mast (nut crop) fluctuations. For these and other reasons which space here does not permit, restoring the American chestnut is worthwhile endeavor. Although C. dentata is not resistant to an infection by the blight fungus, it is not entirely defenseless. One attempt at warding off C. parasitica is the growth of callus encircling the fungi s mycelium to prevent its spread (cite). This may or may not work, in either case the fungi will spread to another site on the tree via sporulation. A second barrier to blight infection is the chestnut s relatively high levels of tannic acid(s) in the cambium (cite). However, as will be discussed later, tannic acids may benefit the blight. The most promising method for increasing C. denata s blight resistance is The American Chestnut Foundation s breeding program. Nursing And Electronic Medical Records Nursing and Electronic Medical Records Thomas Stinde April 28, 2016 Coconino Community College Nursing and Electronic Medical Records In our society today, we have a broad range of computer technology for our use. This technology in the nursing field is called informatics. Informatics is defined as a combination of computer science, information science, and nursing science designed to assist in the management and processing of nursing data, information, and the knowledge to support the practice of nursing and the delivery of nursing care (Thede, 1). Nearly anywhere we go, and whatever career we choose we all need to have basic computer skills. Computers are used in the health care profession due to an increase of productivity they can provide, therefore allowing for better patient care. Computers also allow for hospitals, doctor s offices, and other healthcare facilities to change over to and begin keeping electronic medical records (EMR). An EMR has the medical information that the doctors and nurses obtain when you have an office visit. The patient s paper medical record is put into an EMR program is basically made into a digital version of that patient s medical information. The patient s healthcare provider can then use these EMRs for diagnoses and treatment. There can be advantages and disadvantages for healthcare providers to transition to an EMR system, and those providers will have to decide which one will outweigh the other. Discussion An ... • 26. The Effect Of Urbanization On Wildlife In modern day urban settings, it is not uncommon to walk outside and experience Madagascar right in the city parks. OK, maybe not quite Madagascar yet, but cities are getting there. The wildlife that used to live out in the wild are now migrating into urban areas because there are no resources left for them in their original homes. The problem is humans. Humans have taken over the resources, homes, and economies that animals need to survive, so they are forced to come closer and closer to humans. The movement caused by this is creating many problems between humans and the animals that are forced to move. Urban wildlife is beginning to cause damage to the environment and needs to be stopped. The effect that urbanization has on wildlife is ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... One of the causes of fear loss is caused by animals being too closely associated with the millions of humans that surround them on a daily basis. The animals are forced to reside in human habitat because they have nowhere else to live. The closeness can cause alterations and some urban animals trade personal space for the convenience of the city (Soniak). Species continue to be made to live side by side to humans and breathe the exact same air that they do. They practically share homes with humans now because of the lack of space and the excessive populations of urban wildlife. What used to be considered taboo is presently different because the relationship between humans and large predators is changing (Mahoney). Large predators who lose their fears and approach humans in search for food or water are put in danger because humans misunderstand the animals and what they are trying to tell them. They may view a harmless approach for food as a murder spree targeted straight at them. Another problem that follows urbanization is the harmony between humans and animals that has been around for years is now being disturbed. The amount of wildlife deaths in urban cities is rising as more human populations expand and grow. Some threats to urban wildlife include: habitat loss, light and noise pollution, invasive species, chemical runoff/ pollution and habitat fragmentation. For the urban ... The, Wildlife, And The Natural Land, By Henry David Thoreau Just years after the Industrial Revolution, a time at which engineering and the economy became the main concerns of the population, many of the American people forgot the importance of the land that provided the resources that sustained them. In a time where there was believed to be nowhere but society to reside in, few refuted the idea that the wilderness was really so uncivilized. In his 1845 memoir, Henry David Thoreau describes his experiences living in a quaint cabin, in the wilderness , alongside Walden Pond near Concord, Massachusetts. Presenting his findings of being self reliable, Thoreau depicts what his life was like alone in the woods with only nature to ease one s mind and solitude to provide company. With detailed ... He accordingly conveys this idea by stating that society only believes in intrinsic value and only once one can seclude themselves from the portrait of society can one come to find instrumental value. Continuing with his descriptions of the Walden Pond during winter, Thoreau presents the idea of overconsumption and sustainability throughout the book. While observing the ice cutters at Walden Pond, Thoreau comments on human effort to exploit nature, arguing that the actions are in vain as nature regenerates much faster than it can be threatened, which is very debatable due to the knowledge that there is only a finite amount of resources on the planet. Thoreau thoroughly believes in his idea of self reliance and states that there are only four necessities that should determine one s ability to survive: food, shelter, clothing, and fuel, many of which he believes nature provides graciously. This refutes the idea that prosperity is dependent widescale economic surplus. Humankind tends to take for granted where our food comes from and do not think twice about it, let alone the process of pollination. The manner in which we regard the bees not only has an effect on us but, it also affects a multitude of species. However, we are able to do our part to lessen our negative impact on the bees. If educating humankind would alleviate suffering of many species such as bees, we would then be obligated to save the them. Bees are some of the most feared insects on the planet but aside from their sting they are quite a complex and beneficial creature. There are over 20,000 species of bees on the planet (Spivak,2013). They are often associated with honey however, they play a far more important role, they pollinate. Bees are responsible for about 80 percent of pollination worldwide and a single colony is able to pollinate upwards of 300 million flowers each day (Greenpeace.org). Although there are ways for human pollination it is often a painstaking and time consuming process. Studies have also shown that human pollination is not as effective (Spivak, 2013)). Statistics show nearly one in five women have been sexually assaulted. Managing sex offenders is still an issue in the criminal justice system. Repeat offenders are extremely difficult to monitor. The national legislature monitoring system contains an absence of effective research in monitoring sex offenders. The Adam Walsh Act (AWA) was instilled to create greater uniformity in SORNA systems in all the US states and territories. SORNA is an essential component of the AWA. The act requires standardizing the registration of sex offenders, and community notification practices. There are two ways notification is practiced for registered sex offenders. Communities vary in which way to notify residents. Some communities choose active notification. Active notification is where residents are informed that a registered sex offender lives nearby. Residents are notified by phone, mail, or face to face. The other form of notification that is practiced is called passive notification. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 34. Positive Impact Of Two Stable Biological Parents On Children Positive Impact of Two Stable Biological Parents on Children The debate on the type of family structure that has a positive influence on children has been widely contentious. In the recent years, the family structure has continued to change. Many people in the modern society have continued to change their attitudes when it comes to matters of marriage and raising children. There are more single parents in the society today as a result of divorce and separations. Consequently, this has contributed to an increase in the number of children brought up by single parents. The current changes in family structure have become an issue of public concern because of the effect it has on both the parents and children. It is evident that children who are brought up by two biological parents do well as compared to children raised by single parents. Biological parents in this case refer to married couples who relate to their children through blood (Bachman et al., 2012). The single parent can be a biological father or mother who takes care of the needs of his or her children. Two biological parents play an important role in providing the children with necessary support during younger age by employing various parenting styles and practices. Marriage is a social norm and the idea of raising children should be a combined effort of both parents. Children raised by single parents lack good parental care and support which impact on their lives years later. This paper discusses why two biological ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

But the girl did not know anything about it so she drank it and while she was doing so the cat and the bird could represent society as they tried to stop her from drinking the grandmother s blood. By doing what the wolf says this may be interpreted as how the wolf is trying to transform the girl into being like him by doing what he does. Also this recalls Margaret s curse: the worm of conscience still begnaw thy soul, which meant that the centre of his conscience would incessantly affect his soul forever. This shows that Richard is feeling guilty, he fears the ghostly vengeance of all the people he had killed and that the curses made by the ghosts will affect him when he goes to war. Richard is able to calm himself down: What do I fear? this proves that he has no feeling for anyone, no conscience and is going to prove that he is a villain despite his earlier attack of remorse. Even though people say soccer is more popular, there is no real debate on why Football is king. Both sports have changed cultures and impacted citizens, but which one is ultimately better? The first football game was played about 150 years ago, and has grown to one of the largest followings in the United States. American people have grown up in a society that is swarmed in a Footballistic Culture. During the fall season all talks and conversations are about how good the Patriots are doing or who has the best fantasy team, but by now this seems normal. To an average American boy this is nothing unnatural to hear about on a daily basis, and for even some they dread the talks of Football. However there are a select few that eat, breathe, and live football. Everything they do revolves around decisions their head coaches make and their lifestyles are compromised by star player decisions. Nevertheless Football has numerous aspects which make it superior to soccer. The First reason is the specialization of Offense and Defense, which allows players to devote their entire career to one side of the ball. This allows a player who feels strongly about a position to master all aspects of it and to become the best at it. If a player is all about destroying the offensive line and being disruptive as possible, then the defensive line is the perfect match up. Forcing players ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

When I had encountered Riel, he imagined that he would go to Saskatchewan and he would gather such a big force so that he would become the monarch of Saskatchewan. I think that no sane man would think of such things. He had travelled between Ottawa and The United States as well as knowing the powers of Britain. For him to think that he would be able to train a successful army out of untrained Saskatchewan people as well as believing that he would divide the country into seven divisions would not be normal with a man with this understanding. He also is a Roman Catholic and among them, he went among endeavoring to conciliate them to get them educated on the schemes that he had and says that he wants to dispose the pope. My wife noticed it too and said he became very melancholy . After that, I was told that Louis Riel had still remained solitary even after a long time after his father had died. Riel had hallucinations as well as telling people that he looked like Louis Riel s twin brother and that Louis Riel had drowned in the Mississippi river. The supporters of inequality often feared changing old traditions. Some of the inequality had its base rooted in religion. In the United States the predominant religion was Christianity. In the Bible, the man is supposed to be the breadwinner of the family, while the woman oversees all the household duties. People latched onto this idea which meant if you attacked that idea, you were attacking their religious beliefs. What these people did not take into consideration is that when the Bible was written times were different. When using historical accounts to develop ones beliefs you must take into consideration that life may not be the same as it was when the event occurred. In Bible times, every society was one hundred percent agrarian. This means when the Bible talks about men being responsible for all the work and providing for his family, it is referring to the physical labor that must go into producing food and running a farm. Men are biologically inclined to be physically stronger and women are biologically inclined to nurture and be more gentle. The division of the work in that way made sense during ancient times. The Bible does not say that women absolutely cannot do work if they want to. It certainly does not encourage discrimination of women who do ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
