Does Bonsoy Soy Milk Manufacturer Or Distributor Have Any...
Question No. 1
Case
Does Bonsoy soy milk manufacturer or distributor have had any liability to the Australian
consumers in the tort of negligence?
Set of laws
Tort: A tort is a civil wrong which is done by one party to another. As a result of this, the person
who is suffered or injured can take civil action against another party. The law of torts provide the
rules and regulation to the society. If these rules and regulations are breached the person is liable
for remedies (usually monetary). According to P. Latimer; after the successful test case of
Donoghue v Stevenson in 1932, where the plaintiff getting sick after drinking a contaminated drink,
negligence is tort which now dominates modern tort law.
Negligence: Civil Liability Act 2002 Sect 5 states that, negligence means failure to exercise
reasonable care and skill. (AustLII, 2015) If the plaintiff is suffered damage or loss by defendant,
the plaintiff can sue the defendant for the loss occurred due to negligence of the defendant. There
are three basic fundamental steps to prove negligence under the Civil Liability Act that the plaintiff
must be able to prove:
Duty of care: There is a duty to full fill in the conditions
Breach of duty: The action of the defendant in the conditions did not meet set level of standard
of care
Damage: The plaintiff has suffered damage or loss due to the conditions which could have been
foreseen. (Hobart Community Legal Service Inc., 2013)

Scientific Management Theory Paper
In organizational world, the management and organizational theory plays an important part in the
operations of business, companies and administrations. An organization consists of two or more
persons in a systematic effort to produce goods or services. Thus, an organization needs a
management to achieve the organizational goals through some managerial process which is an
ongoing activity. Therefore, in every organization has a manager that plays important roles as
systematic planner. According to Cleslinska (2007), managers need a knowledge base and
managementskill to act out roles and plan, organize, lead and control. Generally, a lot of managers
run their organizations using the Scientific ManagementTheory. In this paper, I will discuss... Show

According to Hasebur Rahman (2012) stated that Taylor shows the value of matching the job to
the worker. The management s duty is to study the employees carefully and not just leave it to
the poor. He also emphasized the selection proceeds years after years and need to study workers
strengths and weaknesses and provides training to improve workers performance. The
employees must be able to do a better class of work and pay higher wages than before (Shafritz
Ott, 1991). Taylor s principle is to ensure the most efficient way would be use workers in order to
make the standard work process. At this point, the production process is divided into numerous
divisions where this makes managers easily to control and co ordinate the workers performance
and to improve the efficiency of the organization. Thus, the efficiency will increase when the work
is divided into different parts according to different functional departments and each individual
should be assigned to work according to their ability and interest rather than giving the whole

From the Ground Up
The coffee shop where I wait for Karen is loud and busy. I sit and take notice of the people
around me. The shop is filled with young and old people alike, and I notice the differences
between these two generations. The younger crowd sits at almost silent tables everyone s eyes on
the screens in front of them. The older crowd sit and talk. Faceto face with friends at their table and
even with strangers at other tables, by eavesdropping and then inserting themselves into the
conversation. While some of the younger people find this behavior rude, I find it oddly charming.
When Karen comes in, I immediately recognize her bright smile. Karen is an older womanwith
brown hair and kind eyes. Karen Bowman and I worked together a few years ago at OK Foods. I
am excited to see her and catch up on all the office gossip. We find a quiet corner in the shop to
talk. I am going into the Accounting field and I am looking forward to learning more about this
from her experience. Karen explains to me that she got her first bit of experience from her mother,
who taught her how to balance a checkbook and write checks. Karen learned this at an early age,
because her mother wanted to teach her about the practical things in life. Another Lesson that
Karen s mom taught her is, a woman could take care of things... run her own life and be able to
handle raising children. It definitely prepared me for being a single mom. Hearing this I can feel
that Karen has a great deal of respect for her

How The Atoms Are Arranged Within A Molecule
Description
When we just look at the molecular formula, we don t know how the atoms are arranged within a
molecule. Different arrangements of atoms are possible in one formula and these are called
structural isomers, which we will focus on for this lesson.
!!!Structural Isomers
Did you love playing with building blocks when you were young? I remember taking the blocks
apart and putting them back together. Each time, I create different shapes and structures, all the
while, using the same set of blocks.
Let us think of atoms in a molecular formula as building blocks. __Molecular formulas__ tell us
how many atoms of each element there are in a molecule. Just like the building blocks, these atoms
can be bonded together in different ways. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
So, we can say that butane and isobutane are structural isomers.
!!!Types of Structural Isomers and Examples
Now that we know what structural isomers mean, let s discuss the different types of structural
isomers. These are chain isomers, functional group isomers and positional isomers.
!!Chain Isomers
__Chain isomers__ are a type of structural isomers that differ in terms of the branches in their
carbon chains. For chain isomers, we can imagine removing one carbon and its attachments in a
chain and sticking it together with another carbon within the chain.
For instance, for pentane, which has a molecular formula of C sub 5 H sub 12 , has three different
chain isomers. In the illustration below, it shows that pentane and isopentane are chain isomers of
each other. The CH sub 3 group (circled in red) of pentane is switched with a hydrogen atomon the
carbon chain. Once this is done, it produces a chain isomer, isopentane.
Pentane and Isopentane Are Chain Isomers
Below, we can see another chain isomer of pentane, which is neopentane. Neopentane results from
switching the CH sub 3 on the left and the H atom (circled in red) with each other, and the other
CH sub 3 group on the right and the H atom (circled in blue). Pentane and Neopentane Are Chain
Isomers
By switching the hydrogen and CH sub 3 groups on the pentane chain, we change the way the

Health Care At The Healthcare Industry
Health care informatics delivers a promising future for the health care industry. Big data analytics,
computer aided decision support, and systems integration will provide health care organizations
with new tactics to treat patients while controlling cost. Widespread use of health IT within the
health care industry will improve the quality of health care, prevent medical errors, reduce health
care costs, increase administrative efficiencies, decrease paperwork, and expand access to
affordable health care (U.S. Department of Health Human Services, 2014). While health care

Persuasive Speech On Earth Day
Carbon dioxide levels in the air are at their highest in 650,000 years
9 out of the 10 warmest years on record have occurred since 2000.
The Great Pacific Garbage Patch is TWICE the size of continental U.S. and is believed to hold

Our planet is now in the sixth mass extinction of plants and animals
If every country were to consume as much as the United States alone it would be as if there were a
global population of 72 billion people.
Have I got your attention? Good...scary stuff right?
With Earth day having just passed, I figured now was a good time to help spread the message
that although a special day was marked on your calendar, we need to consider every day Earth
Day. We do not own Earth. Earth is our home and we are merely passing through and it is not our
right to trash it nor exhaust its resources as we please. And while the planet as a whole might seem
big, your individual, everyday decisions can leave a lasting impact.

Motifs in Creation Myths Essay
Motifs in Creation Myths The motifs found in the creation myths are undoubtedly different from
those found in any other type of myth. Contrary to popular belief, the purpose of the creation myths
is much greater than a primitive attempt to explain the mysteries of creation. Behind each creation
myth is a vast variety of symbolism along with a number of motives which are often shared between
cultures, despite vast geographical differences. My intention here is not only to discuss the purpose
of the creation myths, but also to compare and contrast common themes which can be found in
three selected works. These being, an Eskimo creation myth, the Ongwe creation myth and the
Navajo creation myth. Even with modern advances in... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
We now see these theories as inaccurate, due to the fact that they have been replaced by newer
scientific models. In a modern light, it can be stated that creation myths describe not the origin
of our cosmos but rather these myths allow us to gain a broader understanding of ancient
theories and beliefs. During the time of their invention however, these myths were precisely an
honest interpretation of the outer world, and therefore they served the exact purpose which is
stated in their title, to explain the process of creation. A technique that is used in many creation
myths can be referred to as creation from above. In this method of narration, the creator often
creates a replica of earth within the heavens, and somehow recreates this image in the abyss
below. An example of this can originally be found in Kund Rasmussen s collection of Eskimo
myths. In this story a being called Tulungersaq, or Father Raven is born in the heavens. He
initially takes the form of a human being and is entirely unaware of how he came into existence.
He is in complete darkness and it is through his sense of touch that he becomes aware of his
surroundings. Through his exploration, he discovers a sparrow, and realizes that this is the only
form of life that had been in existence before him. He goes on to bury something beneath the earth
and soon after he discovers that the earth is no longer sterile, it is now covered in bushes and
grass. Tulungersaq is still

Freak The Mighty Movie Analysis
Freak the Mighty After reading the book, and watching the movie, I really enjoyed both. Both,
the book and the movie, included the scene in which Kevin and Max returned the purse to
Loretta Lee. Returning the purse proved that Max was not like his dad, he had the heart of his
mother. Another similarity was that when Max came home in the police car after saving Freak,
Grim gave Max a cup of coffee because he believed that he was becoming an adult. The final
similarity was the way that Max dealt with Freak s death. His way of getting over the situation was
writing in the empty book about Freak the Mightys adventures. Some differences are that in the
movie Freak went after Killer Kane and Max himself, in the book he just told the police

The Paintings On The Ceiling Of The Sistine Chapel
One of the most famous painter and sculptors of the Italian Renaissance, the age of renewal and
cultural achievement circa 1500, was the artistic genius Michelangelo Buonarroti. The man that
desired nothing but perfection often reached it in his work. He captured the motion of the human
figure and the anatomy of muscles in a way that was increasingly beautiful and startlingly realistic.
Whether because of one of the most famous sculptures in history, the David or the paintings on the
ceiling of the Sistine Chapel, that became the textbook examples for the art period of High
Renaissance, Michelango s art changed the world and he will continue to be studied with awe
throughout history.
Michelangelo s era, the Renaissance was not a time of great social or economic change, only
cultural and ideological development because it only affected a small portion of the population,
which were the rich and powerful scholars that had more surplus money to spend on luxury goods
like art and architecture. One of these families the Medicis rose to prominence and held the position
of the Florence s leading family for three centuries. The Medici family controlled the republican
government and were the unquestioned leaders, Lorenzo the Magnificent the last to hold power
and first Medici to be educated in the humanist tradition and was known as an important patron of
the arts; Lorenzo gave Michelangelo the chance to become the magnificent artist he was. The
humanist movement, one that

the market for decades. According to Henderson Reavis (2009), By 2007, Porsche had become the
world s most financially profitable automaker on an annual per unit basis. They then go on to

According to Henderson Reavis (2009), Per unit produced, Porsche records an average of
$91,974, and by 2007 their annual income capped at $9.4 billion on revenue of $10 billion. With
this growth it must be mentioned that the firm has experience some down points. For example, in
the mid 1990s due to poor production processes and a recession in the United, which seriously
affect sales nearly pushed Porsche Automotive Group into bankruptcy. In the end this led to a time
when the firm was vulnerable to takeover. Another such time would be in 2008 when the firm s
business integrity would come into question due to their actions surrounding the failed takeover of
their former sub division VW.
Porsche Automotive primarily specialized in luxury and sport models. The first vehicle
produced by a Porsche subsidiary was the pre runner to the VW Beetle, the VW Type 60. The
firm s leading models during the post World War 11 (WW2), era were the 550 Spyder, 904 6

Abstract
The information age has brought with it the need to secure computer networks against unauthorized
access, data manipulation and identification protection. There is no such thing as 100% secure or if
an attacker wants something bad enough they will get it , is heard often when information

Does The Brightness in Coloration of The Papilio Troilus in Larval Stage Affect The Survival Rate
When They Encountered with Predators?
Introduction
Papilio Troilus also known as the spicebush swallowtail, they will go through three stages of
development in their larval phase. In the first stage, they resemble birds dropping in brown and
white color. As they growing into their forth instar, they turning to a green yellow color with black
dots on their back to resemble snakes. When Troilus larvas nearly the pupate time their coloration
changes again to deep orange. While the brown and white coloration of the larva in first instar can
be considered as a form of mimicry, which encourage their predators to leave them alone, the
bright green yellow color of their forth instar can be recognized as aposematic, also known as
warning color. (K.L.Prudic 2007) The specific color work with black dots on the back of those
larvas, is mimicking the appearance of snake which is the natural enemy of their predator.
Aposematic is a defensive strategy prey spices developed to increase their survival rate from
predation. Coloration is one of the many ways to warning their potential predator, visually express
their toxicity and unpalatability. (K.L.Prudic 2007) Both the beneficial function and mechanisms in
molecular level of aposematic in the genus Papilio has been well researched and documented. (E.V.

Among them, the two most famous ones are Hin Daeng (Red Rock) and Hin Mouang (Purple

beautiful too. According to Nam Suzanne, top five beach destinations of this country belong to
Patong Beach (Phuket), Railey Beach (Krabi), Maya Bay (Koh Phi Phi Ley), Hua Hin Beach
(Hua Hin) and Kata Beach (Phuket). Besides that, Thailand also has many other striking spots
such as tropical islands, hill tribes, museums, Buddisht temples, etc. and several World Heritage
sites (Ban Chiang Archaeological Site, Historic City of Ayutthaya, Dong Phayayen Khao Yai
Forest Complex, Phuphrabat Historical Park, Kaeng Krachan Forest Complex (KKFC), ...)
(World Heritage List 2012). Many courses were made up for tourists in Thailand so that they
can learn some native skills like Thai cooking, Buddhism and traditional Thai massage. This is a
very interesting activity, especially for foreign visitors. Another motive for tourists to visit this
country is the variety of national festivals here. Some famous ones are the fun for all water
splashing Songkran, the almost fairytale like quality of Loy Krathong or local festivals such as
the Elephant Round up in Surin, the Rocket Festival in Yasothon and the curious Phi Ta Khon

Example Of Hop-Frog Mood
Hop Frog , written by Edgar Allan Poe, displays the mood of resentment. The first example of
this is shown when the story says, Hop Frog ... had been forcibly carried off from their

victorious generals (2). This passage is important to the mood because it shows us the first event
that caused resentment within Hop Frog. Being carried off away from your home to go serve a
foreign and distant king is very hard to deal with and most likely caused anger within Hop Frog.
Another example can be seen when the story says, They are a great king and his seven privy

Portrayal Of Women In The Odyssey
The portrayal of women in society and literature is known to be sexist and male dominated. The
Odyssey by Homer, translated by Robert Fagles, has similar portrayal of women and it presents
women as deceiving in many cases, as well as, their subservience. From a feminist perspective, one
would agree that women in The Odysseycompared to the men are deceptive and very dependent on
the males in their families, including their husbands. The men, however, are demonstrated as
independent and as the protectors of the household, while the women are forced to stay. To begin
with, women in The Odyssey are portrayed as deceptive in several situations. For example, Circe
and Odysseusmen. Circe was deceiving to Odysseus men by luring them in with her voice,
poisoning them, and then holding them captive (Book 10, lines 242 254). Not only were some
of the women deceiving, but all women were perceived that way by men. When Hermes told
Calypso, by the orders of Zeus, to let Odysseus leave she confronted him and told him to go, but
he hesitated because of the thought of her deceiving him (Book 5, 125 199). Now I am
willing...to send you off at last... (Book 5, line 179). Odysseus responded to Calypso by saying,
Passage home? I won t set foot on a raft until you show me good faith, until you consent to swear,
goddess, a binding oath you ll never plot some new intrigue to harm me! (Book 5, lines 192 199).
This shows that even though women are trying to help men think one of their

Money And Money In Geoffrey Chaucer s The Canterbury Tales
Last year alone Americans spent 70.15 billion dollars on lottery tickets. This exemplifies people s
desire for money and all the luxurious factors that coincide with wealth. For example, in the poem,
The Canterbury Tales, written by Geoffrey Chaucer, a major theme of money and greed is
discussed in the Pardoner s Tale. The story shared by the Pardoner involves three drunken and
greedy men who go on a hunt for death, but in the process they encounter gold sprawled out
beneath a tree. Each individual devises a plan so they could gain the most money, however when
all their plans occur it leads to all three of the men dying due their abundance of greed. Overall,
this story can teach people in our current society that people s desire for wealth and money never
comes without a serious cost.
Since the beginning of time the drive to acquire wealth was always a prominent thought in
people s mind. People believe that with money comes happiness and power. However, in today s
world and in the story told by the Pardoner in Canterbury Tales many instances prove that theory
to be wrong. For example, the Pardoner a man of pure acquisitiveness completes his job of
preaching about avarice for the sole purpose of gaining money from the people he preaches too.
As stated in the following line, the Pardoner values wealth immensely and believes it will provide
him with everything he needs in life, The curse of avarice and cupidity Is all my sermon, for it
frees the pelf. Out come the pence,

...he really thought they did fire to defend themselves. The Bloody Massacre was a killing of five
people and six others were wounded. A more commonly known name is the Boston Massacre. This
was also a key event that led to the start of the Revolutionary War. The Boston Massacre occurred
on March 5th, 1770. It was a street fight between American colonists and British soldiers. American
colonists were outraged about the Townshend Acts of 1767, which was an act that allowed the
British to tax the Americans on paper, led, and tea. The British wanted to keep a tight control over
the Americans, so they passed the Quartering Act, which stated that American colonists had to
house British soldiers. Around two hundred colonists surrounded the British soldiers before the
fight occurred. After taunting from the colonists, a British soldier fired into the crowd. An African
American sailor, named Crispus Attackus, was killed first. Samuel Gray, James Cauldwell, Samuel

Evaluation of the Opening Scenes of an Episode of the X Files
The opening sequence of the X Files episode Tooms uses a variety of techniques to capture the
attention of the audience.
The X Files is a very popular television series written by Chris Carter. The series can be described
as a hybrid genre because it reflects a number of different genres. The obvious genre is Science
Fiction because one of the main themes of the series is the paranormal. However there are strong
elements of the Mystery/Detective genre as the two main characters, which are FBI investigators,
seek to find the truth of the paranormal. There is also a Horror/Gothic element to the series because

The affect of this is that the man seems vulnerable, and raises the audience s suspicion of what is
going to happen to him.
There is then a tracking shot of the man inter cut with a close up of a roadside drain, where the
creature Tooms is lurking. When focused on the drain, the camera slowly zooms in. when the
camera cuts back to the man; it is a low angle tracking shot. This low angle shot gives the
impression to the audience that they are looking through the eyes of whatever is in the drain. This
gives the scene a sinister and foreboding atmosphere.
This is emphasised when the camera zooms in of the businessman in a low angle shot and gradually
becomes slow motion. The entire colour is then drained out of the frame except for the man. This
emphasises the earlier point, and suggests the creature in the drain is focusing all his attention and
malice on the man. At this point there is a section of music that sounds computer generated, almost
alien. This adds to the malice of the creature and is repeated throughout the opening scene when
there is evidence that the creature in the drain is near.
This shot is then followed by a close up of the drain, showing two strange pale eyes. This maintains
the audiences attention because it makes them want to discover what is in the drain and why it is
there.
The camera then cuts to a shot of a

Orpheus And Eurydice In Boethius The Consolation Of...
In Boethius The Consolation of Philosophy, he provides in the twelfth poem of his third book, a
summary of the Greek tale of Orpheus and Eurydice. He utilizes the tale to showcase a parallel
between their tragic love and the Christian s relationship with God.
Orpheus yearning for his deceased wife is similar to the strong belief a Christian has for God.
Considering Boethius, and others of his time, viewed God as the embodiment of goodness, the
beginning lines of his poem, Happy, the one who can see/ the clear source of good,/ happy, the
one who can release/ the chains of heavy earth can represent a Christian (Boethius lines 1 4). The
person who is happy is the believer because they can see the source of good which indicate God.
Similarly, the release from earth also implies the necessity ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

Although it is Hades who challenges Orpheus, it can be argued Eurydice sends her lover to hell for
his failure. As stated in the poem, he looked, lost, fell (line 51). He loses Eurydice because he
fails to trust in the person who is behind him and disobeys the order given to him. The moral
message and final line given in this poem is essentially a rewording of the previously cited line,
one loses when one sees the lower worlds (line 58). Yet, there does exist a small difference
between the two lines, in which the final message claims seeing the lower worlds suggest failure.
This line would suggest seeing Eurydice therefore equates to seeing the lower worlds or, in other
words, Hell. Moreover, the reason why Orpheus fails is because of his growing distrust. His
inability to believe Eurydice is behind him parallels the idea of a believer doubting in their God.
Sinners or those who go against God are punished, and to teach Christians, Boethius demonstrates
Orpheus punishment for disobeying the action required of

Vocation In The Christian Worldview Of The Puritans
The pillars of constitutional liberty are self government, private property, representative
government, and limited government. Self government speaks of the individual who attributes
common good to society and does not harm society through selfish actions. Vocation in the
Christian worldview develops political liberty through the practice of self government (Samson,
1994). James Madison thought that the larger the society...the more duly capable it will be to self
govern (Madison, 1788). The New England Puritans through practicality needed certain functions
such as common defense to be attended to thus, they created political covenants. These political
covenants gave them the opportunity for self government in these vocations and helped develop
modern federalism providing for unity and diversity to flourish (Samson S. A., 1993).... Show more

world. It promotes individual liberty and with individual liberty a person is allowed freedom of
expression, freedom of conscience, and freedom to own private property (Lynn Jones).
Representative government is the ideal type of polity, it allows for the improvement of the polity.
People are able to engage with their government and are not just passive recipients. The
government by design has to respond to the people and promote the public interest. The
responsibility is on the people to be attentive, capable of taking action when needed, and to have

German Expressionism And The German Expressionism
It has been argued that the German expressionist movement has had an influence on many later
filmmakers and genres. I agree with this argument and in this essay I will be explaining why I
believe this to be the case by discussing the common traits of expressionism and applying them to
later films and genres.
Unlike other European countries, the film industry in Germany in post World War I was
booming, in fact it was second only to Hollywood. This was mainly due to the German
government s ban on foreign films and the rising demand by German theatres. Between 1914 and
1918 the amount of film production companies rose from 25 to 130 and continued to grow, by
1921 there were over 300 companies. The government supported filmmaking throughout the post
war period; the ban was lifted in 1920 which gave German filmmakers little competition for over
five years.
Expressionism began in the form of paintings in 1908 and soon transferred to a wide range of
media including cinema. In 1920 a film was premiered in Berlin and critics declared expressionism
had reached cinema. The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari (directed by Robert Wiene) was the first of its
kind. Although audiences were used to this style in art and other media, it had never been seen on
film before and was a success with the public. From that point onwards other films with the same
distinct style were released. In the short period between 1920 and 1927 over twenty films were
made that fit into the category of expressionism

Wastewater treatment systems are very important to providing clean, drinkable water to its
surrounding societies. These systems also help in the removal of contaminants in wastewater from
household sewage, runoff, domestic, commercial and institutional units. Processes include physical,

First in primary treatment the sewage is temporarily held in a quiescent basin where heavy solids

Karate Test Essay
I stared down at my hands, trying to control the shaking. My breathing came out slowly, if it
came out at all. I felt like bursting into tears. I stared at the boards in front of me. My head was
spinning, and my mind was racing. I couldn t believe I had missed that break.
I had practiced this break time and time again. It was my best break of all. Normally, my foot went
through the board like a hot knife through butter. I could break double boards with that sidekick
and not blink an eye or break a sweat. But now now that everything was on the line, my foot
jammed the board long before it should have penetrated.
My hands were still shaking furiously. I jumped from foot to foot, trying to shake off the first two
misses. Two misses.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
And my foot stopped again.
I stared at the board in disbelief. I knew the crowd was staring at me exactly the same way. I even
heard my mom gasp. I know I did. My board holder handed me back my board, fully intact. I
accepted his hesitant offering in a daze. With a clouded head, I silently took my seat at the back
of the room with all of the other candidates. I felt soft pats on the back and heard whispers in my
ear: It ll be okay, honey. You ll get it next time.
All that I could manage in response was a quick glance, a forced half smile, or a simple nod. I
knew that I couldn t speak. If I opened my mouth, all that would come out would be sobs. Even if
I didn t have my rank, I still had my pride, and I absolutely refused to let my classmates and my
students see me cry.
There was only one person in the world that was allowed to see my tears that day, and as soon as
we hit the parking lot and my mom put her arm around me, the flood could not be dammed.
I cried until there wasn t a single tear left, and then I cried some more. I didn t know what to do.
As long as I had been taking karate at that school, I had never failed so miserably. I didn t want to
accept it.
But, as it often did with many bad feelings, a big cone of Graeter s double chocolate chip ice
cream helped to heal my sorrow, and from there I just had to suck it up.
Two weeks later was even harder. It was the rank

Spectroscopy Lab Report

Blinded By the Light
Abstract: In this experiment we were provided a cereal box spectrometer to observe the emission
lines of noble gases and hydrogen. Based on the scale readings on the spectrometer and the Balmer
Rydberg formula, their wavelengths and percent error were able to be extrapolated. Based on the
literature values, the cereal box spectrometer proved its value as a decently accurate spectrometer.
Introduction: Every element and subsequent atom associated emits light; also know as
electromagnetic radiation, when in an excited state. Analyzing this emitted light can give insight to
the makeup and characteristics of them. The light given off by an energetically excited ... Show

2012). With the spectroscope, the helium in the discharge tube was observed. The emission line
scale reading and colors were then recorded on table 1.1 which can be found below. These values
where then put into an excel spreadsheet and graph was formed (table 1.2). An equation was then
extrapolated from the data that would give the experimental wavelength (expt О») values that will
be used for later values. The trend line for table 1.2 was established to see the relationship between
wavelength and scale readings.
Expt О»=a О»+b

Then, by measuring and calculating the emission lines in the hydrogen line spectrum, the data on
table 1.3 was collected. The calculated wavelength (Calc О») was determined by the Balmer
Rydberg formula.

R=Rydberg Constant=1.0968x107m 1
The percent error was then calculated by the following equation. error %=(calc О» expt О»)calc О»

The employees must be able to do a better class of work and pay higher wages than before (Shafritz Ott, 1991). Taylor s principle is to ensure the most efficient way would be use workers in order to make the standard work process. At this point, the production process is divided into numerous divisions where this makes managers easily to control and co ordinate the workers performance and to improve the efficiency of the organization. Karen learned this at an early age, because her mother wanted to teach her about the practical things in life. • 5. How The Atoms Are Arranged Within A Molecule Description When we just look at the molecular formula, we don t know how the atoms are arranged within a molecule. Different arrangements of atoms are possible in one formula and these are called structural isomers, which we will focus on for this lesson. !!!Structural Isomers Did you love playing with building blocks when you were young? I remember taking the blocks apart and putting them back together. Each time, I create different shapes and structures, all the while, using the same set of blocks. Let us think of atoms in a molecular formula as building blocks. __Molecular formulas__ tell us how many atoms of each element there are in a molecule. Just like the building blocks, these atoms can be bonded together in different ways. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... So, we can say that butane and isobutane are structural isomers. !!!Types of Structural Isomers and Examples Now that we know what structural isomers mean, let s discuss the different types of structural isomers. These are chain isomers, functional group isomers and positional isomers. !!Chain Isomers __Chain isomers__ are a type of structural isomers that differ in terms of the branches in their carbon chains. For chain isomers, we can imagine removing one carbon and its attachments in a chain and sticking it together with another carbon within the chain. For instance, for pentane, which has a molecular formula of C sub 5 H sub 12 , has three different chain isomers. In the illustration below, it shows that pentane and isopentane are chain isomers of each other. The CH sub 3 group (circled in red) of pentane is switched with a hydrogen atomon the carbon chain. Once this is done, it produces a chain isomer, isopentane. Pentane and Isopentane Are Chain Isomers Below, we can see another chain isomer of pentane, which is neopentane. Neopentane results from switching the CH sub 3 on the left and the H atom (circled in red) with each other, and the other CH sub 3 group on the right and the H atom (circled in blue). Pentane and Neopentane Are Chain Isomers By switching the hydrogen and CH sub 3 groups on the pentane chain, we change the way the

Contrary to popular belief, the purpose of the creation myths is much greater than a primitive attempt to explain the mysteries of creation. Behind each creation myth is a vast variety of symbolism along with a number of motives which are often shared between cultures, despite vast geographical differences. We now see these theories as inaccurate, due to the fact that they have been replaced by newer scientific models. In a modern light, it can be stated that creation myths describe not the origin of our cosmos but rather these myths allow us to gain a broader understanding of ancient theories and beliefs. During the time of their invention however, these myths were precisely an honest interpretation of the outer world, and therefore they served the exact purpose which is stated in their title, to explain the process of creation. A technique that is used in many creation myths can be referred to as creation from above. In this method of narration, the creator often creates a replica of earth within the heavens, and somehow recreates this image in the abyss below. An example of this can originally be found in Kund Rasmussen s collection of Eskimo myths. In this story a being called Tulungersaq, or Father Raven is born in the heavens. He initially takes the form of a human being and is entirely unaware of how he came into existence. He is in complete darkness and it is through his sense of touch that he becomes aware of his surroundings. Through his exploration, he discovers a sparrow, and realizes that this is the only form of life that had been in existence before him. Both, the book and the movie, included the scene in which Kevin and Max returned the purse to Loretta Lee. Returning the purse proved that Max was not like his dad, he had the heart of his mother. Another similarity was that when Max came home in the police car after saving Freak, Grim gave Max a cup of coffee because he believed that he was becoming an adult. The final similarity was the way that Max dealt with Freak s death. His way of getting over the situation was writing in the empty book about Freak the Mightys adventures. • 12. The Paintings On The Ceiling Of The Sistine Chapel One of the most famous painter and sculptors of the Italian Renaissance, the age of renewal and cultural achievement circa 1500, was the artistic genius Michelangelo Buonarroti. The man that desired nothing but perfection often reached it in his work. He captured the motion of the human figure and the anatomy of muscles in a way that was increasingly beautiful and startlingly realistic. Whether because of one of the most famous sculptures in history, the David or the paintings on the ceiling of the Sistine Chapel, that became the textbook examples for the art period of High Renaissance, Michelango s art changed the world and he will continue to be studied with awe throughout history. Michelangelo s era, the Renaissance was not a time of great social or economic change, only cultural and ideological development because it only affected a small portion of the population, which were the rich and powerful scholars that had more surplus money to spend on luxury goods like art and architecture. One of these families the Medicis rose to prominence and held the position of the Florence s leading family for three centuries. The Medici family controlled the republican government and were the unquestioned leaders, Lorenzo the Magnificent the last to hold power and first Medici to be educated in the humanist tradition and was known as an important patron of the arts; Lorenzo gave Michelangelo the chance to become the magnificent artist he was. The Odyssey by Homer, translated by Robert Fagles, has similar portrayal of women and it presents women as deceiving in many cases, as well as, their subservience. From a feminist perspective, one would agree that women in The Odysseycompared to the men are deceptive and very dependent on the males in their families, including their husbands. The men, however, are demonstrated as independent and as the protectors of the household, while the women are forced to stay. To begin with, women in The Odyssey are portrayed as deceptive in several situations. For example, Circe and Odysseusmen. Circe was deceiving to Odysseus men by luring them in with her voice, poisoning them, and then holding them captive (Book 10, lines 242 254). Not only were some of the women deceiving, but all women were perceived that way by men. When Hermes told Calypso, by the orders of Zeus, to let Odysseus leave she confronted him and told him to go, but he hesitated because of the thought of her deceiving him (Book 5, 125 199). I won t set foot on a raft until you show me good faith, until you consent to swear, goddess, a binding oath you ll never plot some new intrigue to harm me! (Book 5, lines 192 199). For example, in the poem, The Canterbury Tales, written by Geoffrey Chaucer, a major theme of money and greed is discussed in the Pardoner s Tale. The story shared by the Pardoner involves three drunken and greedy men who go on a hunt for death, but in the process they encounter gold sprawled out beneath a tree. Each individual devises a plan so they could gain the most money, however when all their plans occur it leads to all three of the men dying due their abundance of greed. Overall, this story can teach people in our current society that people s desire for wealth and money never comes without a serious cost. Since the beginning of time the drive to acquire wealth was always a prominent thought in people s mind. People believe that with money comes happiness and power. However, in today s world and in the story told by the Pardoner in Canterbury Tales many instances prove that theory to be wrong. In Boethius The Consolation of Philosophy, he provides in the twelfth poem of his third book, a summary of the Greek tale of Orpheus and Eurydice. He utilizes the tale to showcase a parallel between their tragic love and the Christian s relationship with God. Orpheus yearning for his deceased wife is similar to the strong belief a Christian has for God. Considering Boethius, and others of his time, viewed God as the embodiment of goodness, the beginning lines of his poem, Happy, the one who can see/ the clear source of good,/ happy, the one who can release/ the chains of heavy earth can represent a Christian (Boethius lines 1 4). As stated in the poem, he looked, lost, fell (line 51). He loses Eurydice because he fails to trust in the person who is behind him and disobeys the order given to him. The moral message and final line given in this poem is essentially a rewording of the previously cited line, one loses when one sees the lower worlds (line 58). Yet, there does exist a small difference between the two lines, in which the final message claims seeing the lower worlds suggest failure. This line would suggest seeing Eurydice therefore equates to seeing the lower worlds or, in other words, Hell. Moreover, the reason why Orpheus fails is because of his growing distrust. His inability to believe Eurydice is behind him parallels the idea of a believer doubting in their God. • 32. German Expressionism And The German Expressionism It has been argued that the German expressionist movement has had an influence on many later filmmakers and genres. I agree with this argument and in this essay I will be explaining why I believe this to be the case by discussing the common traits of expressionism and applying them to later films and genres. Unlike other European countries, the film industry in Germany in post World War I was booming, in fact it was second only to Hollywood. This was mainly due to the German government s ban on foreign films and the rising demand by German theatres. Between 1914 and 1918 the amount of film production companies rose from 25 to 130 and continued to grow, by 1921 there were over 300 companies. The government supported filmmaking throughout the post war period; the ban was lifted in 1920 which gave German filmmakers little competition for over five years. Expressionism began in the form of paintings in 1908 and soon transferred to a wide range of media including cinema. In 1920 a film was premiered in Berlin and critics declared expressionism had reached cinema. The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari (directed by Robert Wiene) was the first of its kind. Although audiences were used to this style in art and other media, it had never been seen on film before and was a success with the public. From that point onwards other films with the same distinct style were released. In the short period between 1920 and 1927 over twenty films were made that fit into the category of expressionism ... The reason acting played a significant role in the accomplishment of this movie was because they had to act without having the most significant actors being present, the Transformers themselves. All the acting conducted in this movie had to be conducted without the use of real robot actors and most by standing in front of blue screens. By the use of editing the theatrical scenes were superimposed into the background of the acting conducted. It took a team of editors and computer programmers in order to accomplish this mission.
