Three Properties Associated With God In Western Religion
1. Theology is the study of the nature of God and religious belief. Using reason, religious texts,
history, revelation, and science as evidence. Philosophy of Religion grounds human knowledge and
synthesizes.
2. The questions Philosophy of Religion deals with are: Existence of God, what is Religion? Faith
vs. Reason, Faith vs. Reason, are there any rational reasons to believe? the Problem of Evil,
Characteristics of Religion, and Problem with the Attributes of deity.
3. Misconceptions think that religion has to do with God and God is Supernatural Beings, greater
reality or spiritual dimension. None of that is necessary because there are some religions who think
without those elements.

The Theodicies of Augustine believed that humans are free but fallen because humanity started
disobedience in the Garden of Eden and mankind is to blame for evil. Iraneus viewed this with a
teleological and developmental view that God is making a soul. He believed that evil has a
purpose and thinks that evil mean end if evil didn t exist, spiritual development wouldn t be
created so God made evil and the purpose was to have evidence if God is all good. John Hick
argument is that the relationship between humankind and God is a parent/ child relationship
because parents birth child, teach their child the difference between good and bad. They much
learn how to live a good life as God sees fit but John Hick argues that if we try creating a perfect

Religion Issues in Public School Essay
The parents have the primary responsibility for the upbringing their children, including education.
Consequently, parents need to be knowledgeable about the rules and practices school, including all
matters relating to the religion and religious freedom in public education. In each community,
parents should work with school officials to achieve not only what is constitutional, but also what
is right for all citizens (Essex, 2012).The principles of freedom of religious are provided in the
First Amendment where the civic structure that allows discussing differences, understand the
relationship between parents and school policies and forge serve the common good in public

It is important that a mutual trust is created and to really and listen to each other. School officials
must accept criticism to their standards and valid school practices, especially in regards to
management of religion and religious perspectives. At the same time, parents with deep religious
convictions should recognize that vast majority of administrators and teachers in public schools are
not intended to be hostile religion and want to be fair to parents and students (Essex, 2012). Many
school districts contribute to the confusion and mistrust because policies concerning many of the
issues are treated or are set as guide. Schools can demonstrate how important it is to take religious
freedom seriously when working with parents to develop comprehensive standards.
Religious Liberty and Public Schools
The general agreement between schools and religious communities on how to treat religion in
public schools under the First Amendment: Public schools may not inculcate or inhibit religion
(Essex, 2012). . They must be places where religion and belief religious are treated with fairness and
respect. Public schools protect the First Amendment when they protect the rights of religious
freedom all students, believers or not. Schools demonstrate fairness when ensure that the
curriculum includes religious studies, where appropriate, as a component important for education

Study Of The High Crime Rate
The study of the high crime rate in the city will include a range of research methods. I would
indicate that there is no standard threshold for what constitutes a hot spot as well no clarity about
what may be the best method to identify the area. In research of areas that may appear to be the
hot spots in the city can vary depending on the area was researched. The variance in the research
would fall into the unit of analysis, scale of the map, and the amount of data mapped. Having said
that, moving forward I ll explain the four methods that I will attempt to identify, describe, providing
an example, indicate the relationship among them and lastly indicate which one would be best for
identifying the highest crime. Each research method will be introduced to the same question in this
process of (1) descriptive, (2) exploratory, (3) explanatory, and (4) quantitative research. These
research methods will provide an interactively to provide an understanding of the question
presented for the investigation ( Criminology and criminal justice research: methods, 2016). When
we apply the question, which area of the city has the most crime to the descriptive research? In the
research process, the first method should always be descriptive. The results of this research attempt
to define as well describe the social fact, occurrence, or circumstance observed of each area. This
type of research data will include both quantitative and qualitative data which illustrate the

hindered my success in furthering my education. During the Spring Term 2013 2014 I was
evicted from my place of residence. I have documents showing that I was a tenant at the time of
the eviction. My uncle was the owner of the house and gave me permission to stay there so that I
was able to attend school and find work to move into my own place of residence. Unfortunately
my uncle fell behind on his mortgage and loan payments to the mortgage company that he
received a loan from and I had to leave the premises. As for the Fall Term 2014 2015 my mother

Defining the Tragic Hero Essay
A tragic hero is the main character in a tragedy story. He is the main theme.
He is the source behind the main issues of the plot and some major points maybe cleared by
observing his actions and nature. The tragic hero is always larger than life, a person of action
whose decisions determine the fate of others. He is a man who is superior then the average person,
a character of noble stature and greatness. Though the tragic hero is pre eminently great, he is not
perfect. Otherwise, the audience would be unable to identify with him and his tragedy. His
imperfection is what invokes pity and fear in the audience. Another characteristic of a tragic hero
is the fact that he is trigger by some error of judgment or character flaw. The... Show more content

Although he is clever man, he is blind to the truth. Even though he did not know that Laius and
Jocasta are his parents, He still kills a man old enough to be his father and marry a woman old
enough to be his mother. One would think that a man with a disturbing prophesy over his head as
Oedipus should be very careful about whom he marries or kills. The fact that a tragic hero is not
perfect evokes both pity and fear. Oedipus although being a good father, husband, and son, he
unwillingly destroys his parents, wife and children. Oedipus is human, regardless of his pride, his
intelligence or his stubbornness and the audience recognize his humanity in his agonizing reaction
to his sin. Watching this, the audience certainly moved to both pity and fear, pity for this broken
man and fear that his tragedy can be their own.
The tragic hero suffers from a character flaw, a moral weakness in character. The flaw is what
sets his actions and what inevitably leads to his downfall. The hero s downfall is partially his
own fault, the result of free choice, not of accident or villainy or some overriding, malignant fate.
Oedipus seems to make important mistakes or some errors in judgment that set the events of the
story into action. Oedipus flaw is his pride and stubbornness. When a drunken man tells him that
he is a bastard, his pride is so wounded that he will not let the subject rest, eventually going to the
oracle of Apollo to ask it the

Plague And Death In The Cairo Calendar
The Cairo Calendar restates the information that was presented within the Book of the Five Days
in Addition to the Year. The information which pertained to the birthdays of the five gods, as
well as the names of the epagomenal days; although in a slightly altered order as Spalinger
discussed to a great length, however the topic of plague and disease is still foremost. The
Egyptian text declares that the person who knows the names of the epagomenal days will not die
of the plague that persists during this time of year also that he will not be possessed by any
disease. The first part of the text speaks of the benefits one has if they know all of the names of the
epagomenal days, but, instead of text being about the reverence towards disease,... Show more

The individual performing the ritual demands that the enemies, death being one, must be
terminated during this period in time; this text allows a fresh new understanding of the Ancient
Egyptian opinion of the days in addition of the year . The Egyptian text may have also been
meant to be interpreted as the Egyptians seeing the epagomenal days as a time of purification,
meaning that their enemies , disease, plague, and death were to be terminated. The last statement
of the former quote, may they save , could be understood to be implying a connection to the
epagomenal days of the previous phrase, may their corpses . With the exegesis of purification in
mind it could possibly be use to describe other Ancient Egyptian texts, such as the plague of the
year which could be seen as some type of celestial plague with the purpose of ridding Egypt of its
enemies during the epagomenal period. The Myth of the Heavenly Cow may possibly fit this
formula as well, with raging Sekhmet being sent to eradicate mankind when they started to riot
against Ra (Re). The Cairo Calendar text provides more support, with several prayers to the gods,
all with the common form O (god + title). Will you protect me from any bad/ evil things, from
any slaughter of the year with the name of the prayed epagomenal day following. The phrase
slaughter of the year could be signifying another yearly plague, therefore by reciting the
individual name of the epagomenal days to the appropriate god or goddess, a person is able to
protect themselves from harm on that day. Knowledge of the names of these days is important
since they are the only means of defense against any evil thing; whether it be thirst, hunger, disease
and plague, or from Sekhmet overcoming you. Fear

The Republic Of Niger, A Poor, Landlocked Country Essay
The Republic of Niger, a poor, landlocked country, located in the heart of Sub Saharan West Africa.
Niger has seen its fair share of change throughout the decades; moving away from the control of the
French Parliament in 1960, Niger formally declared its independence. Despite this bold act of
independence, Nigerwould not see its first steps towards democracy until the early 1990 s, when
they held their first open election as a free state. However, even with the empowerment of the
people in a democratic government, Niger has seen itself nearly torn apart as a result constant
coups, that have occurred as recently as 2010. Such instability has led to incredulous amounts of
corruption and poverty, within the Niger government. This lack of stability and constant turnover in
government, has been a driving factor behind the lack of resources available for educationin Niger.
Although education in Niger is free, the country is nearly entirely rural with an unevenly
distributed population. These factors have lead to a lack of schoolbuildings in nearly every part of
Niger, and as a result, Niger has an adult literacy rate of only 28.7%; this being the second lowest
literacy rate in all of Western Africa, trailed only by Burkina Faso (21.8%). Niger s education
system is based on the incredibly successful model of France which consists of: primary school,
secondary school and finally higher education. While this model has been effective for the French,

Incorporation Of Emotions And The Workplace
Incorporation of Emotions in the Workplace
It is a general understanding that emotions and the workplace do not go along. Nonetheless,
emotions are an imminent part of who we are as humans, and emotions are present in influencing
our everyday activities and decisions. This makes it highly unlikely and utopic to believe that
emotions will not be part of our workplace. The true issue is how to cope with it and how much
is in fact too much. Anne Kreamer is a former high executive at Nickelodeon who wrote a book
that deals with these issues and concerns, and she wisely addresses them by first defining concepts,
and then giving alternatives as to what to do and how to deal with them. She successfully has
achieved through her book to reach out to the entire population, and deal with a taboo issue
straightforward without affecting sensibilities, and instead opening the minds of millions who have
had the opportunity to read her book titled It s always personal: Navigating Emotion in the New
Workplace. She manages to incorporate real life experiences and concerns, as well as biological
and scientifically proven facts about emotion, followed by tools and exercises that help people
cope with everyday feelings and emotions at the workplace, and even more important, she
developed four character descriptions, none of which are mutually exclusive and instead overlap,
but all equally important assets to any company. Her book has great impact because she deals with
this topic that has

Genetic Testing Persuasive Essay
What would you do if an immediate family member of yours developed a popular genetic
disease and there was a possibility of you having it? Wouldn t you want to know whether or not
you had it as well, in your genes? Genetic testing allows for people to know if they have a certain
genetic disease, if they need to get a certain treatment plan set up, or if there are ways to prevent
it from becoming present or visible in the body. Genetic Discrimination is no longer legally
allowed, meaning that there is no longer a need to fear the possibility of your genetic information

Although it is greatly feared that your genetic information will get in the hands of the wrong
person, it is now protected by the law. Genetic Discrimination is no longer allowed because both
federal and state laws have been made against allowing employers and insurance agents to
discriminate you based on a genetic disease you may have. These laws are part of the GINA
Genetic Information Nondiscrimination Act. There are two titles within GINA, Title One
prohibits Genetic Discrimination in Health Insurance and Title Two prohibits Genetic
Discrimination in Employment. Others may argue that genetic testing is unreliable and does not
work to detect genetic diseases in all parts of the body. Among the variety of genetic tests, some
yield high rates of false positive and false negative results, while others are characterized by
findings that are precise but of uncertain clinical or predictive value (1998, Hastings Center

Under The Dome Research Paper
INTRODUCTION
October 29, 2015, the People s Republic of China s (PRC) state run news agency Xinhua
announces the government s plan to end the iconic one child policy initiated by Deng Xiaoping in
the 1970s, allowing up to two children per family. Originally implemented to preserve economic
growth from an excessively fast growing population, this new move marks a watershed in China s
situation, confronted to a low female to male ratio and an aging population. Yet, despite massive
dissuasion campaigns, fines, and forced abortions, flaws in the enforcement of this policy have
given way to many means of bypassing the law. Some hospitals in Southern China propose fertility

The deserted house was warm during the summer night. Marco was exploring the house and was

Case Study On Brand Equity

INTRODUCTION
1.1 Introduction to Internship:
Brand Equity is the added value endowed by the brand to the Product. Although the idea of using a
name or a symbol to enhance a product s value has been known to marketers for a long time, brand
equity has gained renewed interest in recent years. Brand managers realize that after years of look

The ensuing price competition through short term price promotions reduces the profitability of
brands leading manufactures to examine ways to enhance loyalty toward their brands. In addition,

Big-Business and How It Is Affecting All Americans
A lot of these big businesses run similarly to dictatorship or communist countries, a person or
small group making the decisions for the masses, which these policies only apply to the masses
and not the group making the decision. Being above the corporate policies set forth for the
worker allows these greedy employers to promise the world if the employee works hard to
accomplish the company s goals of profit. Then, when the employer wants more and the employee
is not capable. They call the employee into the office to lay them off with no benefit other than
the benefit of experience working in the company. Although there is still the opportunity for the
American dream, big business decisions are helping that dream fade away because of greed.
These large corporations are pushing the percentage margin of profits to exceed well over twice
the amount of capital; most of it goes into the pockets of the executives, that the company put in
at the begin through the strategy of; laying off employees, closing work sites, and buying out the
smaller competition. However, the sovereignty of America is slowly dwindling away by the loss
of buying power of the US dollar, through the impact of the decisions made by these small
executive groups of big corporate America and foreign companies trying to beat the market leader.
They clearly do this by lowering the cost of a similar product below what American companies can
compete. It is easy to conclude that absolute power corrupts absolutely;

The Literary Relationship of Jude and 2 Peter
The Letters of Jude and 2 Peter have traditionally been grouped together because they share a
direct literary relationship. However, knowing what letter was based off of the other is very
difficult to understand. Both letters belong to a collection of epistles at the end of the New
Testament which are sometimes referred to as Catholic Epistles. These two epistles both offer
practical advice and reflections on the nature of God, the nature of humanity s relationship to
God, and the response of a community when confronted with false teaching. The purpose of this
paper is to detect the agreements in content or wording between the two letters and discuss
whether the letter of Jude was dependent on 2 Peter as a source or if 2 Peter used Jude as a
source. Due to the several agreements between the two letters, one can be certain that either the
author of Jude or 2 Peter used the other as a source, or both independently used a common
source. Reese states that one of the reasons that Jude has often been treated alongside the book
of 2 Peter has been because the second chapter of 2 Peter and the main body of Jude share
remarkable similarities in style, language, argument and examples. Both books refer to angels who
sinned, to Sodom and Gomorrah, and to Balaam (Reese 14). Both letters also remind the readers
that people like the false teachers were expected by the apostles. Reese also brings it to her readers
attention that although these two epistles are quite short

The Physics Of Electric Force
Theory Electric force can be defined as an attraction or repulsion between two particles that is
directly related to the charge of the two particles. So when a different voltage is applied to two
metal plates the opposite charges that are applied produce an attraction. To be able to figure out the
magnitude of the field on these plates one must know the charges, surface area, and the vacuum
dielectric constant. With knowing the value of the electric fieldone can then calculate the value of
the electric force that is being experienced between the two plates.
Experimental Description This experiment consisted of four separate parts. The first part was to
adjust the balance to make sure it was working properly, and to measure its ... Show more content

That value was .0161m^2. Next we had to check the check the voltage for deflection by turning
on the power supply and adjusting the voltage. Once everything checked out properly we were
able to move onto the next section. In part 2 of the experiment we had to measure the deflection
of the plates with the laser. First we turned on the laser and measured the initial ho value of
.52m, then we touched the two plates together for the ht value and that number was .44m. Next
we measured the distance from the mirror to the ruler and it was 1.67m. With all of these values
from the first two parts we could plug them into the formula yo=(ho ht)(X/2D). This will give us
the distance between our plates so when we plugged those values into that equation we got yo to
equal .00515m which is a very close value to our original y estimate of .005m. In part three of
the experiment we had measure deflection using mass, so we started by placing .0001 kg in the
center of the pan and then plugging it into the formula F=mg to find out the force it was exerting
on the top pan. This force was .00098N and it pushed the pans about half of the way closer
together from the original spot. Then the h1 value was obtained by reading the spot of the laser on
the ruler. This was repeated three times and we got h1 values of .475m, .473m, and .475m. These
values were then plugged into formula y1=(h1 ht)(x/2D). The three y1 values were .00225m,

Answer 1
The standard model of technical writing is a style and structure that has been widely used for about
fifty years. This documenting method, which is usually taught in schools, is how most professional
scientists, engineers, and other technical writers choose to write. The main features of a document
that follows the standard model include the following:
Abstract or summary: A brief overview of the document, including its conclusions and
recommendations if there are any. An average length for an abstract is about 300 words; however,
some scientific journals actually specify the required number of words. The

What is electric car
Electric car is an alternate fuel automobile that uses electricity instead of petrol or diesel. These
automobiles have electric motors and controllers used for propulsion. These vehicles do not use the
traditional or the common methods of propulsion like ICE (internal combustion engine). These
cars are energy efficient and are capable of reducing city pollution because of the zero tail pipe
emission.
The functioning of the cars greatly depends on the quality of the battery used in the car. The poor
battery may result into long hours of recharging and poor speed with poor acceleration. These cars
are not practically suitable for long journey but can be a good transportation vehicle for everyday
use and can be ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Further, electric car also have high a price tag attached to them, making it unattractive to buyers.
But if you run out of juice, why not just recharge?
Sure! You can definitely do that.
In the case of the Leaf, once the battery is depleted it can take up to 20 hours to completely
recharge on a 120 volt outlet, according to Nissan. On a 240 volt, it takes seven hours, and a 480
volt fast charge station takes 30 minutes. In our instant gratification broadband society, even waiting
30 minutes is an eternity
The Chevrolet Volt and Cruze are approximately the same size.
The Volt has a buy in of approximately $40,000. The Cruze starts at $18,000.
If you include the available $7,500 tax credit for buying the Volt, that cost comes down to $32,500.
Is the Volt worth the $14,000 premium over the Cruze, a car which already gets phenomenal city
(25 MPG) gas mileage?
If we say that gas costs $4 per gallon, the Cruze would need to be filled up 225 times before that
$14,000 gap is brought to $0. According to GM, the Cruze s range per tank is estimated to be 390
miles, so that means the 225 fill ups would occur over the course of 88,000 miles.
That is almost eight years of driving, and according to The New York Times, Americans keep their
cars for an average of around nine years.

Building A Safer Health Care System
According to Err is Human: Building a Safer Health Care System, thousands of Americans die
annually due to medical errors and hundreds of thousands are victims of a non fatal medical errors
or injuries (Kongstvedt, 2013). With that being said, health care is composed of three main
components: quality, access, and cost (Tabish, 2009). High quality care could prevent many of
these fatalities or never events that occur within the health care organization. Historically speaking,
many health care changes and improvements in quality of care have occurred due to quality
management and quality assurance. To fully understand how quality is achieved and maintained, it
is important to dissect these two programs or processes. This paper will analyze the key
components of a quality management program as well as discuss characteristics that distinguish a
quality management program from traditional quality assurance. Quality Before understanding a
quality management program and traditional quality assurance, it is important to understand the
definition of quality. Quality is composed of two elements, content and delivery (Brent, nd).
Content quality is related to the medical outcome that has been achieved. While delivery quality is
based upon the patients interaction with the health care system, also known as the patient s
impression of the organization such as its environment, the providers and caretakers, and treatment.
Together, content and delivery create quality. (Brent, nd) Quality

Medieval Castles
Medieval Castles Medieval castles were used from the early 10th century right through to the
mid 17th century. During this time they changed a lot from the early motte and bailey castles
through to castles with thick stone walls. Motte and Bailey Castle The Motte and Bailey Castles
The two main components: the motte, an artificial mound atop which was built a fortified tower
called a keep, and a bailey, which was an enclosure connected to the motte. Many castles of this
type also had a ditch around the bailey. Building Fortifications Many early motte and bailey
castles were built of timber, which meant that they could be constructed quickly in just a few

Self Government In Canada
Self government is the cornerstone of the Inuit policy goals in the Nunavut region; while self
government is an important goal, the idea is intricately linked to other goals such as land claims
settlements, cultural preservation, and economic development, goals which the people of Nunavut
are finding very hard to meet (Nowland Card, 41). Indigenous people were self governed long
before Europeans arrived in Canada, but in 1876, the Indian Act came into effect, dismantling
traditional governance systems and Indigenous peopleslives (Bc Treaty Commission). Today, the
Federal government recognizes that Indigenous people have an inherent, constitutionally protected
right to self government; a right to manage their own affairs (Bc Treaty Commission).... Show more

But the model of self government offered by the Canadian government leaves the people of
Nunavut financially at the mercy of the Government and thus is impractical and doomed to fail.
The Government still owns a huge amount of the land and makes the final decisions on important
issues. There is still no sovereignty for Indigenous people as their lives are still partly dictated by
the Federal Government. Their lack of any revenue source leads to heavy reliance on the Federal
Government making this method highly unsustainable. Thus, the Indigenous people surrendered
their rights for a failed cause, but one that could potentially see a revival. With the recent devolution
plans in Canada between the Federal Government, the Government of Nunavut and Nunavut
Tunngavik Incorporated, the company in charge of setting out the process of the transfer of land
from the Crown to the Nunavut Government, there is hope for the revival of Nunavut (Devolution
Nunavut). Devolution is important because it brings decision making closer to home, giving
Nunavut a greater say in issues that affect them; final decisions over public land and resource use
will be made in Nunavut and not in Ottawa giving the Northerners greater autonomy over their
resources (Devolution Nunavut). With greater autonomy comes greater

Southern Subculture Of Violence
Subcultures of violence are mostly described by its norms, identifiable values or shared views for
their communication which orders the use of violence in various circumstances. Subcultures are not
entirely different from a larger culture to which they re surrounded. On the other hand, the
subcultural supporters contribute many social beliefs of the dominant cultureand observe a separate
set of principles and ideals that are not overlooked by the larger class of society. Observing to the
beliefs of a subcultureof violence or the use of violence in a particular situation isn t just to tolerate
it, but to expect it. This expectation promotes an ideal behavior, meaning that opposing agreements
can occur if violence isn t used in a situation for which subcultural rules request it. Generally, the
most discussed subcultures of violence both said to be found in America are the Black subculture
of violence and Southern subculture of violence.

The Black experience has led some to suggest the existence of a unique Black subculture of

Differences Between The Movie Ben-Hur
Ben hur (2016) is directed by Timur Bekmambetov and cinematography by Oliver Wood. It is a
remake of the 1959 version of Ben Hur, which was directed by William Wyler and

revenge and forgiveness. Ben Hur and his brother Messala both have to make choices that will
affect their friendship and trust in one another. Each of these movies are a rendition of the book
Ben Hur, written by Lew Wallace. Although they are based on the same story, there are many
differences between the two movies. Some of the differences are the addition of the character,
Gestas, and the different style in which they were written. The addition of the character Gestas
in the 2016 movie is a major change in the story. In the 1959 version, the tile falls off the roof of

better job at making the viewers feel the emotion of what Judah and the other slaves were going
through. Another obvious change is the representation of Jesus. In the 1959 version, Jesus does
not have a speaking part, some may believed that this payed more respect to him. In the 2016
version we get to see more of him as he plays a bigger role. We see that Judah connects with Jesus
more in the newer film and that plays a big role in Judah s

The Power Of Words In The Book Thief By Mein Kampf
Words have energy and power with the ability to help, to heal, to hinder, to hurt, to harm, to
humiliate, and to humble. (Economy). Consequently, this quote exemplifies the illustrious meaning
of words being so powerful that they will never be forgotten and only be remembered by those that
they affect most. Words give us the power to communicate and explain our thoughts, which can
affect change on others in the society. Therefore, they are not as influential and manipulative as
they seem to be. In the novel, The Book Thief, power of words are used as emotion, influential, and
building knowledge.
To begin, words bring power, which can effect change within emotion. In other words, The Book
Thief and Mein Kampf brought examples where powerful words affect emotions. For instance,
they compare with each other because the words are so powerful that they impact the people in
the same ways. Liesel and Hans relationship is extremely strong. Their love shows how the
massive power of words can bring people closer together. Also, how they can calm people down; it
allows the characters to get away from what is happening in their surroundings. Similarly, in Mein
Kampf, there was a gargantuan amount of emotions that it sent through the citizens that read it. On
the other hand, Mein Kampf produced emotions that brought anger and fear to characters. Germans
who saw their old neighbors being ripped from their homes and pulled through towns to their death
were too scared of the nefarious

Winter Song Poetic Devices
The Winter Song
When this work was assigned, I immediately chose the winter song Jingle Bell Rock. In my
opinion, this song sounds like a typical puertorican song. It is happier, with a lot of movement. I
also like it because of all the poetic devices that the song has. I will be showing you some of these
poetic devices this song has.
The first poetic device that I found in the first line Jingle bell, jingle bell, jingle bell rock (1).
Every time they say this line it means how much music there is in Christmas. Another poetic
device is Jingle bells ring (20). It means how the bells sound. In the analysis, I found how all the
music in christmas is related to the bells.
Also another poetic device is Snowing and blowing (3). They use

Theme Of Self In The Alchemist
1.1 Introduction The death of self is chosen as the subject of study in Paulo Coelho s The
Alchemist for research purpose. The self to the characters in this novel is shadowed in the name
of searching destiny and pursuing dream. The study of self is not an easy task. The self concept is
discussed below on the basis of some references and the novel, The Alchemist.
The question may be raised: is the self a fact in Coelho s The Alchemist? Coelho has used the
individual or self of the characters as the umbra and created penumbra around it to give concrete
form in the novel. But, this might be refuted in terms that the individual loses his/her identity when
being manipulated by external agent. What might be the external agent or force if ... Show more

Will: Fate is constantly intertwined with will, and a key theme of the book focuses on how
much in life is under one s control, and how much is controlled by fate. The old king states that
the world s greatest lie is that at some point during our lives, we lose control of what s happening
to us, and our lives become controlled by fate. While this point of view strongly supports that will
has a stronger hold on one s destiny, later events, such as Santiago and the alchemist being caught
by warring tribes, demonstrate fate s hold on one s life. However, in every situation where fate
does take over, the characters are capable to excavate themselves from the situation. For, instance,
after being caught by the tribal chief, Santiago is able to turn him into the wind, demonstrate his
power, and is

As the name suggests, the United Nations (UN), is an intergovernmental organisation to promote
international co operation, where it s Security Council (SC) has a primary responsibility to
withhold peace and security (United Nations n.d.) across the globe. In regards to its primary
responsibility for the maintenance of international peace and security, the SC has continued to
engage on an extreme agenda in accordance with the principles and objectives set forth in the
Charter of the United Nations(United Nations 2015). The UN was arranged to determine the
existence of a threat to peace and to take effective cooperative measures for the prevention and

In association with the five permanent members (PM), this has allowed a realist hierarchy within
the UN system to be formed (Hardwick, 2011). To further demonstrate this, article 27 of the UN
Charter provides the requirements of the voting system, which states each member is entitled to
vote once and any decisions of the SC shall be made by an affirmative vote of nine of its members
(Voting system and records for the United Nations Security Council, 2016). This ensures that
decisions can be acted on rationally with the authorization to by at least nine members on the SC
that has to be met before action can be engaged.
However, a power is additionally given to the five PM that demonstrates key attributes of the
SC that does not reflect adequately in today s culture. As the creators of the UN charter granted
the special status of Permanent Member States to the five permanent nations, the PM were also
given a unique voting system, the veto power, also known as the right to veto (Voting system
and records for the United Nations Security Council, 2016). It was agreed that how the veto
would operate is that any of the five PM s disagrees on a vote in the 15 member SC, the action or
decision would not be approved and would have to be readdressed by the Council at a later date or
rejected. According to Deplano (n.d.) since individual resolutions of the SC do not set a precedent,
what constitutes a threat to or breach of international peace and security is

Advantages Of Indian Reservation System
There arrives a time when almost everything overstays its welcome and needs changes to survive.
India s reservation system is one of those systems which has overstayed its due and has been a
failure in meeting its initial objectives. It was introduced to erase the caste discrimination and the
divisions in the Indian society. What it has done is that it has etched these castelines even deeper
into the society setting up the general castes against the lower castes. The reservation system was
thought to promote the weaker and the backward classes but it ended up making them tools of vote
bank politics. The reservation system of Indiahas not been successful in eradicating as well as
introducing all what it stood for at the time of its introduction.
The Mandal Commission was introduced in 1979 to identify the socially backward classes and to
set up reservation seats to eliminate caste discrimination in the country. It used social, economic
and education factors to decide on the backwardness of the classes. But if we look at the present
scenario, reservations are determined on the basis of solely caste and nothing else. The OBCs, also
called the Other Backward Castes have been granted 27% reservation on government positions. In

study showed that 1 Dalit appeared in every 15 fifteen graduates and in 10 secondary students.
Therefore there has been an increase in the number by a significant margin. In the political
agenda, women acquire a one third of all the seats in the local elected bodies. The Women s
Reservation Bill will see this being applied in the national parliaments as well. All of this implies
that some backward classes and tribes have benefited from the reservation

The Film Catch Me If You Can Accurately Show Frank...
Does the film Catch Me If You Can accurately show Frank Abagnale Jr s crimes? I believe the
movie glamorized Frank s crimes and made them a little bit better than they actually were, of
course you can expect this from Hollywood. Frank Abagnale Jr. made a lot of mistakes as a
teenager. He was trying to make a life for himself out in the real world and be able to make
money. Frank was determined too, he could think of amazing ways to make a buck. Which
eventually led him to posing as a teacher, doctor, pilot on a commercial airline, CIA agent, and a
lawyer. He also committed many different kinds of crimes including cashing fake checks at
hundreds of different banks all across the world, printing fake checks, unlawfully obtaining private
information and a plethora of other felonies. The list goes on and on, but comparing the events that
took place in Catch Me If You Canto what actually happened in real life, the film made a
numerous amount of mistakes in that aspect. They shot scenes that didn t accurately show the
details of his crimes but got the main idea. They do this to make the movie a lot more appealing
to the viewers. Which isn t a surprise, but knowing the true facts about this con man s story is
appealing enough. It is believed that Catch Me If You Can, as a whole, changed Frank s story and
the details about his crimes. There was a lot of uninformative and inaccurate information that was

The s Impact On Canadian Constructions Of Heritage And Islam
Spectacle and the Universal: ISIL s Impact on Canadian Constructions of Heritage and Islam
Context and Research Question: In August 2015, after capturing the ancient Roman site of
Palmyra, the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) spectacularly exploded the remains of
the Temple of Bel and the Temple of Baalshamin. They immediately spread the images of their
destruction online by creating videos and news reports. ISIL s acts of destruction mark the
largest scale mass destruction of antiquities by one group since the Second World War (Kulish
and Myers 2016), and their videos are extremely effective in disseminating their spectacles
outside of the Middle East. Scholars in art history, archaeology, and law consider these acts the
destruction of cultural heritage (Harmanşah 2015; Bauer 2015; Brodie 2015; Drasewska
2015; He 2015; Kila 2015). In particular, ISIL s videos seek to defy Western European ideas about
cultural heritage which are often cast as universal (Meskell 2002, 568) and engage a worldwide
audience through carefully articulated performances. However, the many Canadian journalists
using digital media to protest the destruction and reassert their own humanitarian, cosmopolitan,
and civilized heritage values clearly mark the success of this strategy (Manley 2016). In fact, a
trend emerged where popular news stories claim that ISIL is destroying the heritage that belongs to
all of humanity (Harmanşah 2015, 173). Some scholars dispute the validity of this

Two possible future stars of the UFC s lightweight division will be on display this Sunday in
Oklahoma City at UFC Fight Night 112. No. 7 ranked lightweight Michael Chiesa will take on
No. 12 lightweight Kevin Lee in the card s main event, and the bad blood between them will be
rectified in the process. The two fighters came to blows during the UFC Summer Kickoff press
conference in May, as Chiesa s boiling point was reached when Lee casually made a remark
about his mother, which Chiesa, of course, didn t receive kindly. He s going to headline (UFC
Fight Night 112) because of me, Lee told reporters. After that, he s going back to the prelims. But I
just hope he shows up, because I know his momma s got tickets. Chiesa then stood up, began

The two fighters did a great job building anticipation for the fight and should put on a show that
will showcase their tremendous talents. Chiesa is riding a three fight win streak and is 7 2 in
the UFC. He has wins over Beneil Dariush, Jim Miller and Al Iaquinta, not to mention Fight of
the Night (twice), Submission of the Night (twice) and Performance of the Night honors to his
credit. Chiesa brings an unorthodox style and unusual length to the Octagon. At 6 foot 1, the 29
year old is long for a 155 pounder, and a win over Lee would likely land Chiesa in the division s
top 5. Lee is just 24 years old and riding a four fight winning streak. He s 8 2 in the UFC and
Chiesa will be his toughest opponent to date. A win over Chiesa could land him within the top 5
of the division and a matchup with a top 5 fighter. Lee has great wrestling and explosive speed,
but will be significantly shorter against Chiesa as he only stands 5 feet 9 inches. Despite the height
disadvantage, Lee has a two inch reach advantage, which could serve as a useful weapon to counter
Chiesa s

Life Of Ranofer s Half-Brother In The Golden Goblet
The novel Golden Goblet illustrates the life of a young Egyptian boy struggling against the
cruelty of his half brother Gebu. This novel is the life of Ranofer as he desperately tries to
uncover the secrets of his half brother and the mysterious golden goblet. He eventually discovers
that Gebu is a tomb robber and knows he must tell someone. He ends up telling Queen Tiy
herself and receiving great rewards for his actions. When Ranofer finds the goblet, it sets off a
whole new stream of events, each leading to the next. This lead to him figuring out what Gebu

He finds a interesting scroll with a room that appears useless, a store room he thought. But no,
he realized. It is much more than a store room, The little room in the tomb drawing, the one for
the Pharaoh s master of storehouses. It was no room at all. It was a passage like this disguised
so that the workmen could hack it out without knowing... . Although he did not find the goblet,
he found yet another clue. One day, the day when Gebu and Wenamon go to rob a tomb,
Ranofer follows them. Wenamon is very nervous, he almost is scared, unlike his evil partener
Gebu. Wenamon said, ... you may regret this day impatient one! It was Wenamons murmuring
voice, that was certain. Gebu lashed back at once, Fool, who would follow us? Even the guards
are feasting in Thebes. . Ranofer realizes that Gebu was planning to rob something, bigger than a
gold shop, to rob tombs. In conclusion, the previous reasons prove my point that the most
important event is when Ranofer finds the Golden Goblet. All these events lead to one another in
a river of new mysteries and new finds. Eventually, poor Ranofers problems are solved. He tells
the Queen and they amazingly believe him. He is rewarded greatly and the goblet is found.

Compare And Contrast Thomas Be Essay
The archetypal hero journey, Joseph Campbell states, is a typical series of heroic actions. Four
stages form the hero journey: departure, trials, epiphany, and return (the stages do not necessarily
occur consecutive with the listing). Death and resurrection of lifestyle and beliefs, spiritual journey,
and finally rebirth form hero journey amp;#8217;s motif. An archetypalhero pattern is the
transformation of the character amp;#8217;s conscience through trials and revelations. Lust, fear,
and social duties tend to be the main trials heroes face. Campbelldefines a hero as a character who
overcomes his trials and gives his life to something superior to himself committed extraordinary

Job amp;#8217;s departure is a lifestyle departure. Living his life splendidly fulfilled, Job

leaves Job frustrated and confused, but he maintains his faith.
Thomas Becket has two departures. The first is a physical departure Becket physically leaves the
stage during a period of deep introspection following the four tempters amp;#8217; propositions.
After physically exiting, Becket actually acquires his second, spiritual departure. The spiritual
departure Becket undergoes is not stated directly, but occurs while Becket is off stage. Becket

Importance Of Teaching Reasoning And Proof
Teaching Reasoning and Proof
As educators and as students it is pivotal to emphasize the importance of reasoning and proof in
the classroom. By doing such, students will develop a higher level of thinking not only in the
classroom but in the real world as well. In secondary education, it is only a short period of time
until students are faced with complex thinking that is not specific to any textbook. In education
specifically students will have to approach problems in different directions. This is something
that takes a bit of adjusting to if that student is not previously exposed to reasoning and proofs.
Very young students make conjectures all the time. It is one of the beauties of preschool and
kindergarten. At this stage of life, kids are very curious about most subjects. In the case of
geometry, a preschool student starts to recognize the similarities of a square and a cube. They
obviously may not be able to reason what the volume of the cube is, but they start to recognize the
similarities. This is a tremendous aspect that shouldn t be looked over. It is important to continue
and develop these students and not let that curiosity diminish. That curiosity is the drive in
education. At this age, educators should focus on the basics of reasoning. There aren t many
formulas for these kids, they are just being exposed to the process. It makes sense for the teachers
to spend more time on the reasoning early; in return the student s brains will start to develop those

The Enlightenment Set the Stage for New Imperialism
New imperialism was the mid nineteenth and twentieth centuries cultural equivalent to a modern
day mafia, its roots entangled in the economic, cultural, and humanistic aspects of life. The sole
objective of the nations entailed the exploitation of their controlled state. Gestating from the
change in control of Asian and African nations to the Europeans by means of political deviance,
malicious sieges, and strategic military attacks. The juxtaposition to the modern equivalent
endures as the aforesaid is sheltered by the fairytale that these nations were in need of aid and by
doing so the Europeans were the good guys. The ideas of new imperialismare greatly influenced by
those of the enlightenment. Taking place during the eighteenth and... Show more content on

An account of the extreme dependence on the slave trade is that of the Robin Johns. Brothers who
endured years of harsh conditions and experienced the nefarious realities of the trade firsthand, yet
they continued to trade slaves upon returning home as free men; justified only by their strong ties
to Britain and their unique skills (Sparks, 147). The enlightenment formed a pretense of
universalism, while new imperialism furthered the fairytale. Tabula Rosa, meaning blank slate, was
a term John Locke used to convey the ability to convert people through the influence of the
environment around an individual (Genova, 1/13). This was used during new imperialism as a
scapegoat. Nations set out on civilizing missions in order to disguise their imperialist nature.
Furthermore, The White Mans Burden was a written work that was used to rationalize destroying
cultures and creating satellite nations, because it was their burden to help the people of the less
sophisticated nations. This aid was in the form of forced colonization, imbalanced trade, and forced
slavery. For example, the Portuguese set out on their mission of new imperialism to gain trade and
slaves (Genova, 2/15). Stemming from universalism, imperialist nations pursued the enlightenment
idea of social Darwinism. Which equated to survival of the fittest, not only were the subject of
Darwin s original experiment animals, the

Fish Respiration Vs. Temperature Lab Report
Fish Respiration vs. Temperature Lab Report
Overview:
The purpose of this experiment was to see how a fish can maintain homeostasis when put through
physiological stress in different temperatures of water. The fish respired less in the water that was
12 degrees and respired the most in the water that was 27 degrees. It s respirations in 20 degree
water were closer to the amount of respirations in the 27 degree water than in the 12 degree water. It
is important to see how organisms acclimate to their environment so that scientists know the limits
of the organism s tolerance range. Scientists want to perform experiments with organisms, but
killing them is not ideal for the purposes.
Introduction: Alternative Hypothesis: If a fish ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Too drastic of a change (say, putting the fish into the coldest water right after it had been in the
warmest water) can be harmful and even deadly to the organism. A stable set of internal conditions
is needed for any organism to survive in its environment. Typically, cold blooded animals, or
ectotherms, such as fish and lizards, have a wider range of tolerance in conditions in which they
can survive. This is because, unlike endotherms, their body can adjust to its external environment.
In an endotherm (warm blooded animal), their conditions are determined by their internal
environment, not their external. Because a fish is an ectotherm, it could handle the changes in
temperature even though it was put through physiological stress.

I would indicate that there is no standard threshold for what constitutes a hot spot as well no clarity about what may be the best method to identify the area. In research of areas that may appear to be the hot spots in the city can vary depending on the area was researched. The variance in the research would fall into the unit of analysis, scale of the map, and the amount of data mapped. Each research method will be introduced to the same question in this process of (1) descriptive, (2) exploratory, (3) explanatory, and (4) quantitative research. • 8. Defining the Tragic Hero Essay A tragic hero is the main character in a tragedy story. He is the main theme. He is the source behind the main issues of the plot and some major points maybe cleared by observing his actions and nature. The tragic hero is always larger than life, a person of action whose decisions determine the fate of others. He is a man who is superior then the average person, a character of noble stature and greatness. Though the tragic hero is pre eminently great, he is not perfect. Otherwise, the audience would be unable to identify with him and his tragedy. His imperfection is what invokes pity and fear in the audience. Another characteristic of a tragic hero is the fact that he is trigger by some error of judgment or character flaw. The... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Although he is clever man, he is blind to the truth. Even though he did not know that Laius and Jocasta are his parents, He still kills a man old enough to be his father and marry a woman old enough to be his mother. One would think that a man with a disturbing prophesy over his head as Oedipus should be very careful about whom he marries or kills. The fact that a tragic hero is not perfect evokes both pity and fear. Oedipus although being a good father, husband, and son, he unwillingly destroys his parents, wife and children. Oedipus is human, regardless of his pride, his intelligence or his stubbornness and the audience recognize his humanity in his agonizing reaction to his sin. Watching this, the audience certainly moved to both pity and fear, pity for this broken man and fear that his tragedy can be their own. The tragic hero suffers from a character flaw, a moral weakness in character. The flaw is what sets his actions and what inevitably leads to his downfall. The hero s downfall is partially his own fault, the result of free choice, not of accident or villainy or some overriding, malignant fate. Oedipus seems to make important mistakes or some errors in judgment that set the events of the story into action. Oedipus flaw is his pride and stubbornness. When a drunken man tells him that he is a bastard, his pride is so wounded that he will not let the subject rest, eventually going to the oracle of Apollo to ask it the ... • 9. Plague And Death In The Cairo Calendar The Cairo Calendar restates the information that was presented within the Book of the Five Days in Addition to the Year. The information which pertained to the birthdays of the five gods, as well as the names of the epagomenal days; although in a slightly altered order as Spalinger discussed to a great length, however the topic of plague and disease is still foremost. The Egyptian text declares that the person who knows the names of the epagomenal days will not die of the plague that persists during this time of year also that he will not be possessed by any disease. The first part of the text speaks of the benefits one has if they know all of the names of the epagomenal days, but, instead of text being about the reverence towards disease,... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The individual performing the ritual demands that the enemies, death being one, must be terminated during this period in time; this text allows a fresh new understanding of the Ancient Egyptian opinion of the days in addition of the year . The Egyptian text may have also been meant to be interpreted as the Egyptians seeing the epagomenal days as a time of purification, meaning that their enemies , disease, plague, and death were to be terminated. The last statement of the former quote, may they save , could be understood to be implying a connection to the epagomenal days of the previous phrase, may their corpses . With the exegesis of purification in mind it could possibly be use to describe other Ancient Egyptian texts, such as the plague of the year which could be seen as some type of celestial plague with the purpose of ridding Egypt of its enemies during the epagomenal period. The Myth of the Heavenly Cow may possibly fit this formula as well, with raging Sekhmet being sent to eradicate mankind when they started to riot against Ra (Re). The Cairo Calendar text provides more support, with several prayers to the gods, all with the common form O (god + title). Will you protect me from any bad/ evil things, from any slaughter of the year with the name of the prayed epagomenal day following. The phrase slaughter of the year could be signifying another yearly plague, therefore by reciting the individual name of the epagomenal days to the appropriate god or goddess, a person is able to protect themselves from harm on that day. Knowledge of the names of these days is important since they are the only means of defense against any evil thing; whether it be thirst, hunger, disease and plague, or from Sekhmet overcoming you. Niger has seen its fair share of change throughout the decades; moving away from the control of the French Parliament in 1960, Niger formally declared its independence. Despite this bold act of independence, Nigerwould not see its first steps towards democracy until the early 1990 s, when they held their first open election as a free state. However, even with the empowerment of the people in a democratic government, Niger has seen itself nearly torn apart as a result constant coups, that have occurred as recently as 2010. Such instability has led to incredulous amounts of corruption and poverty, within the Niger government. This lack of stability and constant turnover in government, has been a driving factor behind the lack of resources available for educationin Niger. Although education in Niger is free, the country is nearly entirely rural with an unevenly distributed population. These factors have lead to a lack of schoolbuildings in nearly every part of Niger, and as a result, Niger has an adult literacy rate of only 28.7%; this being the second lowest literacy rate in all of Western Africa, trailed only by Burkina Faso (21.8%). Niger s education system is based on the incredibly successful model of France which consists of: primary school, secondary school and finally higher education. • 16. Incorporation Of Emotions And The Workplace Incorporation of Emotions in the Workplace It is a general understanding that emotions and the workplace do not go along. Nonetheless, emotions are an imminent part of who we are as humans, and emotions are present in influencing our everyday activities and decisions. This makes it highly unlikely and utopic to believe that emotions will not be part of our workplace. The true issue is how to cope with it and how much is in fact too much. Anne Kreamer is a former high executive at Nickelodeon who wrote a book that deals with these issues and concerns, and she wisely addresses them by first defining concepts, and then giving alternatives as to what to do and how to deal with them. She successfully has achieved through her book to reach out to the entire population, and deal with a taboo issue straightforward without affecting sensibilities, and instead opening the minds of millions who have had the opportunity to read her book titled It s always personal: Navigating Emotion in the New Workplace. She manages to incorporate real life experiences and concerns, as well as biological and scientifically proven facts about emotion, followed by tools and exercises that help people cope with everyday feelings and emotions at the workplace, and even more important, she developed four character descriptions, none of which are mutually exclusive and instead overlap, but all equally important assets to any company. These laws are part of the GINA Genetic Information Nondiscrimination Act. There are two titles within GINA, Title One prohibits Genetic Discrimination in Health Insurance and Title Two prohibits Genetic Discrimination in Employment. Others may argue that genetic testing is unreliable and does not work to detect genetic diseases in all parts of the body. Among the variety of genetic tests, some yield high rates of false positive and false negative results, while others are characterized by findings that are precise but of uncertain clinical or predictive value (1998, Hastings Center Report, 15 21). Although that may be true, there can be tests done in other parts of the body to get better results instead of the false results. Taking blood from another location in the body will allow the patient to get the true positive or negative that they need to tell if they have the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Big-Business and How It Is Affecting All Americans A lot of these big businesses run similarly to dictatorship or communist countries, a person or small group making the decisions for the masses, which these policies only apply to the masses and not the group making the decision. Then, when the employer wants more and the employee is not capable. They call the employee into the office to lay them off with no benefit other than the benefit of experience working in the company. Although there is still the opportunity for the American dream, big business decisions are helping that dream fade away because of greed. These large corporations are pushing the percentage margin of profits to exceed well over twice the amount of capital; most of it goes into the pockets of the executives, that the company put in at the begin through the strategy of; laying off employees, closing work sites, and buying out the smaller competition. However, the sovereignty of America is slowly dwindling away by the loss of buying power of the US dollar, through the impact of the decisions made by these small executive groups of big corporate America and foreign companies trying to beat the market leader. • 27. The Literary Relationship of Jude and 2 Peter The Letters of Jude and 2 Peter have traditionally been grouped together because they share a direct literary relationship. However, knowing what letter was based off of the other is very difficult to understand. Both letters belong to a collection of epistles at the end of the New Testament which are sometimes referred to as Catholic Epistles. These two epistles both offer practical advice and reflections on the nature of God, the nature of humanity s relationship to God, and the response of a community when confronted with false teaching. The purpose of this paper is to detect the agreements in content or wording between the two letters and discuss whether the letter of Jude was dependent on 2 Peter as a source or if 2 Peter used Jude as a source. Due to the several agreements between the two letters, one can be certain that either the author of Jude or 2 Peter used the other as a source, or both independently used a common source. Reese states that one of the reasons that Jude has often been treated alongside the book of 2 Peter has been because the second chapter of 2 Peter and the main body of Jude share remarkable similarities in style, language, argument and examples. Both books refer to angels who sinned, to Sodom and Gomorrah, and to Balaam (Reese 14). Both letters also remind the readers that people like the false teachers were expected by the apostles. Reese also brings it to her readers attention that although these two epistles are quite short ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

So when a different voltage is applied to two metal plates the opposite charges that are applied produce an attraction. With knowing the value of the electric fieldone can then calculate the value of the electric force that is being experienced between the two plates. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... That value was .0161m^2. Next we had to check the check the voltage for deflection by turning on the power supply and adjusting the voltage. Once everything checked out properly we were able to move onto the next section. In part 2 of the experiment we had to measure the deflection of the plates with the laser. First we turned on the laser and measured the initial ho value of .52m, then we touched the two plates together for the ht value and that number was .44m. Next we measured the distance from the mirror to the ruler and it was 1.67m. With all of these values from the first two parts we could plug them into the formula yo=(ho ht)(X/2D). This will give us the distance between our plates so when we plugged those values into that equation we got yo to equal .00515m which is a very close value to our original y estimate of .005m. In part three of the experiment we had measure deflection using mass, so we started by placing .0001 kg in the center of the pan and then plugging it into the formula F=mg to find out the force it was exerting on the top pan. This force was .00098N and it pushed the pans about half of the way closer together from the original spot. Then the h1 value was obtained by reading the spot of the laser on the ruler. This was repeated three times and we got h1 values of .475m, .473m, and .475m. These values were then plugged into formula y1=(h1 ht)(x/2D). The three y1 values were .00225m, .00212m, ... Although recent empirical research using individual level survey data finds no support for the notion that Blacks are more tolerant of violence, at least one recent analyst has intriguingly argued that Black violence is a cultural phenomenon resulting from 200 years of immersion in the Southern culture of violence, and carried out of the South with the great migration in the first half of the 20th century. It is a remake of the 1959 version of Ben Hur, which was directed by William Wyler and cinematography by Robert L. Surtees. This story follows Judah Ben Hur in his fight against revenge and forgiveness. Ben Hur and his brother Messala both have to make choices that will affect their friendship and trust in one another. Each of these movies are a rendition of the book Ben Hur, written by Lew Wallace. Although they are based on the same story, there are many differences between the two movies. Some of the differences are the addition of the character, Gestas, and the different style in which they were written. The addition of the character Gestas in the 2016 movie is a major change in the story. In the 1959 version, the tile falls off the roof of Ben Hur s house and he and his family are accused of trying to kill the new governor of Judea. Consequently, this quote exemplifies the illustrious meaning of words being so powerful that they will never be forgotten and only be remembered by those that they affect most. Words give us the power to communicate and explain our thoughts, which can affect change on others in the society. Therefore, they are not as influential and manipulative as they seem to be. India s reservation system is one of those systems which has overstayed its due and has been a failure in meeting its initial objectives. It was introduced to erase the caste discrimination and the divisions in the Indian society. What it has done is that it has etched these castelines even deeper into the society setting up the general castes against the lower castes. The reservation system was thought to promote the weaker and the backward classes but it ended up making them tools of vote bank politics. The s Impact On Canadian Constructions Of Heritage And Islam Spectacle and the Universal: ISIL s Impact on Canadian Constructions of Heritage and Islam Context and Research Question: In August 2015, after capturing the ancient Roman site of Palmyra, the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) spectacularly exploded the remains of the Temple of Bel and the Temple of Baalshamin. They immediately spread the images of their destruction online by creating videos and news reports. ISIL s acts of destruction mark the largest scale mass destruction of antiquities by one group since the Second World War (Kulish and Myers 2016), and their videos are extremely effective in disseminating their spectacles outside of the Middle East. Scholars in art history, archaeology, and law consider these acts the destruction of cultural heritage (Harmanşah 2015; Bauer 2015; Brodie 2015; Drasewska 2015; He 2015; Kila 2015). In particular, ISIL s videos seek to defy Western European ideas about cultural heritage which are often cast as universal (Meskell 2002, 568) and engage a worldwide audience through carefully articulated performances. However, the many Canadian journalists using digital media to protest the destruction and reassert their own humanitarian, cosmopolitan, and civilized heritage values clearly mark the success of this strategy (Manley 2016). In fact, a trend emerged where popular news stories claim that ISIL is destroying the heritage that belongs to all of humanity (Harmanşah 2015, 173). Some scholars dispute the validity of this ... By doing such, students will develop a higher level of thinking not only in the classroom but in the real world as well. In education specifically students will have to approach problems in different directions. This is something that takes a bit of adjusting to if that student is not previously exposed to reasoning and proofs. Very young students make conjectures all the time. It is one of the beauties of preschool and kindergarten. At this stage of life, kids are very curious about most subjects. In the case of geometry, a preschool student starts to recognize the similarities of a square and a cube. They obviously may not be able to reason what the volume of the cube is, but they start to recognize the similarities. This is a tremendous aspect that shouldn t be looked over. It is important to continue and develop these students and not let that curiosity diminish. That curiosity is the drive in education. At this age, educators should focus on the basics of reasoning.
