Persuasive Essay On Sexual Assault
Sexual assault is a major issue in the world we live in today. The punishment that people get is never
what they actually deserve. There has been all kinds of crime rates for sexual offence all over the
world. Surveys in the United States have proven that one of every six women has experienced an
attempt of rape or even a completed rape experience. Many women who are sexually assaulted are
assaulted by men that they know,or has came into contact with. Women are rarely going to report that
they have been raped when they know the asaultiant. With this being said there are alot of cases that
are under reported. In this essay i will argue the many reasons why women are afraid to report a sexual
assault crime made against them.
One of the main reasons why women do not even try to report the offence is because they know that
nothing is going to happen and that is an issue. In the words of Kirsten Gillibrand There is a pervasive
lack of understanding when it comes to the true nature of campus sexual assault. These are not dates
gone bad or a good guy who had too much to drink. This is a crime largely perpetrated by repeat
offenders, who instead of facing a prosecutor and a jail cell remain on campus after a short term
suspension, if punished at all. (Gillibrand 28). A punishment for these kind of people should never be
just a slap on the hand. Sexaula assault is a real crime and women should be able to see that whoever
has done this horrible thing to them should have great

Burn Patterns To Start A Fire
Individual Portion
A plant or a booster burn pattern is said to be a pattern of any preparation for the unlawful setting of a
fire, primarily the material is put around the ignition device to feed the initial flame. Fortunately, for
this pattern newspaper is normally the most popular material. However, wood shavings, rags, blankets,
clothing and cotton waste is the most highly used material for industrial and factory fires. Therefore,
these are also some of the common plants that can start a fire. Yet, any form of liquid or flammable

The American Dream In The Era Of The American Dream
The American Dream is the opportunity for success, and the ability to achieve prosperity and a better
life for yourself, and your family. Literature through American history has changed multiple times
each one defining a new standard and covering new ideas. The time period of the Romanticism Era
covered through the 1830s 70s, which brought new values to literature and art, other examples were
transcendentalism and Anti transcendentalism, which were opposites one featuring nature and the
other showed more dark tones. These eras affected the American dream changing the standards of
american literature and bring forth new forms of thinking. The Romanticism Era was during the time
of the industrial revolution and the abolishment movement, during this era literature stressed thought
over reason, using your imagination, and the human experience as a whole. In the poem The Tide
Rises, The Tide Falls by Henry Longfellow he writes The little waves, with their soft, white
hands,/Efface the footprints in the sands,/
And the tide rises the tide falls (8 10). Longfellow depicts an image of waves moving through the sand
as they wash away the footprints in the sands. Longfellow takes time to think about the small things
which was an ideal during that era. Another example is by Longfellow was in his sonnet The Cross of
Snow he phrases that Displays a cross of snow upon its side./ Such is the cross I wear upon my breast/
These eighteen years, through all the changing scenes/ And

Physical Effects Of Virtual Reality
VIRTUAL REALITY
When many people think of the term virtual reality , they imagine someone wired up to a computer,
wearing an odd helmet and making weird movements in the air. Well, this is partly true. However,
virtual reality is basically computer simulated reality.
VIRTUAL REALITY is a computer generated environment that is created by combining audio, visual
and tactile human/computer interfaces to simulate a real world environment. Virtual reality means that
the user is fully immersed in a world of artificial environment that the computer has generated.
One of the most common and simplest applications of virtual reality is your 3D movie. The 3D glasses
give the impression that some of the objects in the movie are actually within your reach. ... Show more

WHO CAN BENEFIT FROM GENETIC ALGORITHMS?
Nearly everyone can gain benefits from Genetic Algorithms, once he can encode solutions of a given
problem to chromosomes in GA, and compare the relative performance (fitness) of solutions. An
effective GA representation and meaningful fitness evaluation are the keys of the success in GA
applications.
Gas are useful and efficient when the search space is large, complex or poorly understood, traditional
search methods fail, domain knowledge is scarce or expert knowledge is difficult to encode to narrow
the search space and no mathematical analysis is available. The advantage of the GA approach is the
ease with which it can handle arbitrary kinds of constraints and objectives; all such things can be
handled as weighted components of the fitness function, making it easy to adapt the GA scheduler to
the particular requirements of a very wide range of possible overall objectives.

The Importance Of War In All Quiet On The Western Front
Erich Maria Remarque s novel, All Quiet on the Western Front, depicts the true horror and brutality of
war, and has shown people all over the world what it can actually means to fight for one s country.
Although it may seem as though going to war is brave and honorable, that is not always the case.
Through descriptive and graphic scenes, Remarque depicts the futility of war and unveils the terrors
experienced by soldiers fighting on the Western Front during World War I. The theme of the
meaninglessness of war is found throughout Remarque s novel, accompanied by the feelings of
hopelessness of the soldiers when they realize it. The novel conveys that after fighting for so long, a
soldier begins to realize that the killing is futile and results only in unnecessary deaths. The deaths on
the Western Front were often in vain, because no territory was every really gained or lost during the
front s battles. The doubt of the soldiers and their purpose can be seen in Kropp s words, when he
ponders the morality of war: We are here to protect our fatherland. And the French are over there to
protect their fatherland. Now who s in the right? (page 203). ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

Paul, the main character, often reflects on how war can damage a person both mentally and physically.
He understands that even if the soldiers were to return to their former lives, they would not know what
to do with themselves, because they have changed and no longer identify with civilians. This can be
seen as Paul reflects on his life while he is in the hospital: I am young. I am twenty years old; yet I
know nothing of life but despair, deaths, fear [...] I see how peoples are set against one another, and in
silence, unknowingly, foolishly, obediently, innocently slay one another (page 263). This quote also
expands on the theme mentioned above Paul sees how people are purposely set against one another

Making the Best Use of Pakistan s Natural Resources
INTRODUCTION
Pakistan is rich in natural resources. It has mountains , plains , deserts , fertile land , rivers and oceans.
Natural resources are very important to the development and prosperity of a country. The important
thing is to use them for the welfare of human beings and the development of the country economically
because the progress of a country depends entirely on the use of available resources. Significant
natural resources are described as follows :
1. Soil
Soil dry Pakistan belong to group having high carbonate and calcium poor in organic matter. These
vary in color from reddish brown in the north to the red or gray in the south. These soils are generally
fertile due to training. The barrage of new stores near the river called Khaddar and mostly consists of
sand . The old bar alluvial plateau, called Bangar , consists of finer particles loams . At the foot of the
mountains the soil is sandy and generally becomes thinner towards the plains where Khankah , the
concentration of limestone is occasionally . The soils of the deserts of Thal and Thar and Balochistan
are carried by the wind. In southern Potwar is a thin layer of residual floor coating .
2.Water
Water is a basic necessity of life . Human beings , animals and plants can not live without water. Water
is essential for maintaining the quality of life on earth . This finite commodity has a direct impact on
almost all sectors of the economy. In Pakistan its importance is more than ordinary

Enzymes and pH Concentration
Enzymes and pH Concentration
Abstract
Enzymes are high molecular weight molecules and are proteins in nature. Enzymes work as catalysts
in biochemical reactions in living organisms. Enzyme Catecholase is found on in plants, animals as
well as fungi and is responsible for the darkening of different fruits. In most cases enzymatic activities
are influenced by a number of factors, among them is temperature, PH, enzyme concentration as well
as substrate concentration (Silverthorn, 2004). In this experiment enzyme catecholase was used to
investigate the effects of PH and enzyme concentration on it rate of reaction. A pH buffer was used to
control the PH, potato juice was used as the substrate and water was used as a solvent.
The experiments involved PH buffers of different pH were added to potato juice, water, and the
enzyme catecholase. The mixture was then subjected to spectrophotometer at a wavelength of 420nm
taking the absorbance readings. In the second experiment, a phosphate buffer of PH 7.0 was used in
different measures together with different measurement of potato juice and the enzyme catecholase
then subjected to the spectrophotometer at a wavelength of 420nm. The data collected inform of table
and analyzed using descriptive statistics such as line graph and later interpreted, showing that PH and
enzyme concentration do affect the rate of enzyme reaction

How Did Marie Curie Use X-Ray

Marie Curie and the Exploration of Radium During the early nineteenth century, French physicist
Henri Becquerel observed radioactivity by recording how uranium emits radiation that is strong
enough to blacken covered photographic plates. Scientists used to believe that uranium emitted rays ,
after they headed about Becquerel s work. Later on, after Curie s research, they came to know that
those rays were actually very small particles. Wilhelm Roentgen discovered x rays, which led Marie
Curie to use x ray treatment during World War I to heal thousands of wounded soldiers and educate
thousands of women about this technique. Without Roentgen s early discoveries, Marie Curie would
not have been able to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Henri Becquerel studied how uranium emitted radiation. Using this discovery as her thesis topic,
Marie Curie wanted to know more. According to the Atomic Heritage Foundation, she wondered
whether or not there were other elements that emitted radiation. She soon discovered that thorium
emitted radiation as well. She came to the conclusion that radioactivity does not depend on how the
atoms are arranged into molecules, but with the atoms themselves. For this revolutionary discovery,
Marie and Pierre Curie won a Nobel Prize in Physics. She even coined the term radioactivity , which
is the disintegration of an unstable nucleus by the change of the energy level of the nucleus by gamma
ray emission. She also changed scientists views on atoms. Originally, scientists believed that atoms
were unbreakable bits of matter, but Marie Curie proved them wrong. She stated that radium atoms
break apart into several smaller atoms of all different sizes. This was one of her greatest motivations to
discover two incredibly radioactive elements, radium and polonium. She also proved that rays are
actually energy that is released from within the atom, rather than the age old belief that rays came
from the surface of the material. She worked with J.J. Thompson, using x rays, to figure out that atoms
were not just the smallest bits of matter, since there were rays that are made up of even smaller

Julius Caesar Tragic Hero Essay
Julius Caesar, a magnificent and well known tragedy by William Shakespeare. But in every tragedy,
there needs to be a tragic hero. But who is it? There have been many different conspiracies of who the
tragic hero was. The most probable person is Brutus. He fits all the requirements to being one. From
his noble stature, his fatal flaw, and his legacy he left to the world. He is the perfect candidate of being
Julius Caesar s tragic hero. One of the requirements to being a tragic hero is to have a noble stature.
The reason why a tragic hero needs to be of noble standing is so they are easily recognizable. So when
their hamartia strikes, they fall hard. To back this up, at one point Cassius says Brutus and Caesar.

Brutus greatly,
This was the noblest Roman of them all.

The Indelibility Of The Past In The Mayor Of Casterbridge...
In the Mayor of Casterbridge, Thomas Hardy shows how one man s mistakes can impact the rest of
his life. The two themes I found most significant in The Mayor of Casterbridge are honesty and the
indelibility of the past. In order to fully study these themes and their effects on our protagonist s life,
we must start where his story begins. Mr. Henchard, our story s namesake, has committed a grievous
sin by drunkenly auctioning off his wife and child. This is not the first time he has made an abusive
action against Susan, as evidenced by her line, I ve lived with thee a couple of years and had nothing
but temper! (Hardy 13). Evidently their relationship is incredibly flawed if Michael could not put to
rest his alcoholism and anger issues for the sake of his wife and child. He takes action against his
alcohol issues by vowing never to touch strong liquor for the next twenty years. However, it is too late
for his marriage and the damage has already been done. The place of women in Henchard s life ties
deeply into the indelibility of the past. When we meet him again, he has not only become the most
successful hay trusser in the town, but has also become the mayor. Henchard s reformed behavior
shows results, but it isn t enough to break him from his curse of bad interpersonal relationships. For
one thing, he has made commitments to another woman who caught feelings for him and got in
trouble for messing with him, and he felt he owed her something. While this story

The Era Of Good Feeling Essay
Following the death of the Federalist political party, and after entering a time of political unity, the
United States entered what historians refer to as the Era of Good Feeling . This era began after the War
of 1812, a war between America and Britain, and the Napoleonic Wars, a series of wars taken place in
the seas near France, ended. The Federalist party was dissolving at the end of the war, and was
completely dissolved when Monroe came into office as president in 1817. At the start of this era, there
was primarily a one party political system, the Democratic Republicans, and there was a rise of
nationalism, hence the era received the title Good Feeling . Socially, this nationalism was felt
throughout the entire nation, specifically directly following the war, in 1815 1817. Economically,
however, the issues of state sovereignty led to the rise of sectionalism, not deserving of the title Good
Feeling . Furthermore, politically, America at this time began to split into the second party system.
While at the start almost everyone was Republican, sectionalism arose during this era, and ultimately
led to the ending of the good feelings entirely. Overall, the time between 1815 and 1825 is
undeserving of its name, The Era of Good Feeling, and sectionalism played a larger role in the United
States at this time then nationalism did. Socially, the the title good feeling is an accurate representation
of the nationalism people were feeling at the time following the War of

Chemistry is determined by a player s relationship with the players around him. This depends on if the
two players share the same nation, club, or league. Two players share a dead link, which will be
represented with a red link, it mean the two players have different nationalities, different clubs, and
different leagues giving them no chemistry together. A weak link, which will be represented with a
orange link, means the two players have the same nationality and different leagues or if they are from
the same league, but different clubs. A strong link, which is represented by a green link, means the two
players with the same nationality and league but different clubs or if it s between two players from the
same club. These links will form a individual chemistry of a player, and the total chemistry is all of the
players individual chemistry added up. The best possible chemistry is 10 for each player which will
add up to 100.
Players that will be on your team consists of 3 different things that give them value in the game these

The Importance Of The Evolution Of Sexual Selection
As a result of sexual selection, many male animals have evolved extraordinary structures, usually used
as ornaments for attracting females, or weapons, for fighting mating rivals (Douhard et al., 2017; O
Biren et al., 2017; McCullough et al., 2016; McCullough and Emlen, 2013; Emlen, 2008). The
diversity of these structures is usually extremely high (both intra and interspecifically) and have
existed in many animal groups, including extinct trilobites and dinosaurs, to beetles, birds and hoofed
mammals (ungulates) found today (O Biren et al., 2017; McCullough et al., 2016; Emlen, 2008;
Emlen et al., 2005; Emlen, 2001). Although both ornaments and weapons will increase mating
opportunities for males, the mechanisms shaping the evolution of ... Show more content on

This bias is likely influenced by the appearance of horns in many female bovid species as well as
caribou, the only female cervid to evolve antlers, possibly as anti predator defences, a result of natural
selection (McCullough et al., 2016; Stankowich and Caro, 2009; Emlen, 2008; Bro Jørgensen, 2007).
Although investigating beetles, McCullough et al. (2014) determined weapon morphology to be more
effective against species typical fighting, with sexual selection through male male competition
enhancing horn diversity. Only relatively more recently, have effects of male male competition, within
ungulates, to the diversity of horn morphologies received increased attention, despite such studies
being present within the field for over 50 years (McCullough et al., 2016; Bro Jørgensen, 2007; Caro
et al., 2003). The evolution of horns within artiodactyls is thought to have arisen independently at least
three times, with a change in habitat from closed to open woodland and at a crucial body weight of
around 15 18kg, which is thought to influence territorial defence by males (Janis, 1982). As a result,
many investigations on horn morphology diversity among male bovids and cervids has been
completed to environmental factors, scaling relationships of body mass and social variables that may

How Is Paul Von Hindenburg A Hero
Paul Von Hindenburg was a renowned military and political leader for Germany; he is most notable
for being a distinguished Field Marshal for the Imperial German Army during WWI, and being the
second president of the Weimar republic. His military hero status was essential for his ability to garner
support from the German public. His monarchistic views were highly influential in shaping the
government while he was reigning as president, and as a result of his seat of presidency, he was a
major determining factor in the eventual fate of the republic. Born 1847, as Paul Ludwig Hans Anton
von Beneckendorff und von Hindenburg in Prussia to an aristocrat father; Robert von Beneckendorff
und von Hindenburg, and his wife; Luise Schwickart, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
During and after the war, Hindenburg was seen as a national hero, and was considered to have
embodied all of the positive characteristics of the collective German people. While the appeal of
Hindenburg was present throughout all social classes, religions, and political view points, it was the
German right wing political groups which idolised Hindenburg the most; seeing him as a portrayal of
classic Prussian ethics, and Lutheran and Junker values. Despite this support for Hindenburg
personally at the home front, support for the war itself was dwindling, and after General Ludendorf s
failed spring offensive, the situation seemed hopeless for the German military. With conditions on the
home front worsening, and realising the dire situation Germany faced in the war, on the 29th
September 1918; General Hindenburg, General Ludendorf and the Kaiser Wilhelm II agreed to
establish a new democratic government in Germany to replace the current form of government. In
spite of this seeming like a victory for the democrats in Germany, it has been argued that this was just
an effort to deflect blame for the inevitable defeat at the hands of the allies to left wing elements on
the home front. As historian Douglas Newton states; The intentions of the ruling elite... were quite
transparent: ... to smother the prospect of a more thorough revolution from below and to deflect
responsibility for the military defeat on

management issues.
Topic:
Branding the nation: What is being branded? The major topic of the paper is what nation branding is

The author points out that a nation is not a product in the conventional sense . The Nation itself can
hardly be changed, the benefits are purely emotional, the Image is complicated and the ownership is
unclear. A nation brand is not centered on any specific product, service or cause that can be promoted
directly to the customer. But Nation branding concerns a countries whole image, covering political,
economic, historical and cultural dimensions. A Nation has not one but multiple images. What image
is retrieved depends on the audience , the context and the time. The author finds out that negative
national image does not necessarily affect the purchase of products made by that country, by giving
the example of Japan and China. The author tries to find out the direction of the correlation between
countries that have produced strong brands and those that are strong brands themselves . Nation
branding must be distinctive and help the country to position itself against competitors . A difficulty is
that an international

Cutting costs and increasing efficiency was a major reason for Japan s major export industries to stay
competitive. The automobile industry was able to position itself globally by manufacturing
economical vehicles. In 1979, Japan shifted its focus to the technological fields as they drifted away
from the industrial industries. Their focus was on developing computers, semiconductors, and
technology industries. The Bubble Economy The bobble economy refers to the time period of 1980 to
1993. During this time frame Japan saw the Yen rise to three times its value and corporate land rise to
180% of its value. As a result the Japanese government regulated the monetary policies system and
raised interest rates. The Tokyo stock market dropped 38% wiping out over two trillion in estimated
value. In October 1993, the recession bottomed out and Japan rebounded slowly by switching their
focusing on technological innovations to regain strong market position behind the United States. Japan
retained as the leader of the semi conductor and automobile industries. In 1995 the rise of the Yen
forced Japan to shift production overseas to China, Tokyo, and Malaysia. Today Japan and the United

Descriptive Essay On Canada Day
I think they call it Canada Day. A holiday in the middle of summer not unlike Independence Day in
the United States. On this occasion, I happened to be visiting friends in Tete Juene Cache, British
Columbia, several hundred miles into the interior. Tete Jeune was the French word for Yellow Head .
The name, like the town itself, was a vivid reminder of the not so long ago gold rush days. Fewer than
a thousand residents hid in the forests and canyons of this small settlement that clung to the western
edge of the Canadian Rockies. My friends Chuck Gail had settled here just the year before, buying an
old homestead that included one hundred and sixty acres of fields and woodlands at the foot of Mica
Mountain. Now from the mountain, flowed a creed of the same name, the actual disposition of, was
sometimes that of a well healed river in spring, often a mere trickle in summer. On this hot Sunday in
July however, new friends and families were arriving at Chuck Gail s every moment. A holiday picnic
had been planned in front of the farmhouse. Tables had been set up; barbecue pits ignited, croquet
mallets waited. Howard the Monk arrived early, bringing with him a pot of still warm baked beans.
Howard the Monk, was a man whose true vocation was still under a fair amount of speculation.
Rumors had him placed in the States during the Vietnam conflict. He wore a long traditional brown
robe with a thick braided rope tied at his waist. He had a great image in the wintertime. As I

Going Back to College as a Single Mom Essay
Going back to college after you have been out of school for quite a few years, had three children, been
married, and divorced is a lot harder than I ever imagined. It takes hard work, dedication, and missing
out on the little things previously taken for granted. I miss taking naps the most. I believe if you can
tough it out through the worst days, you can finish school and provide a better life for your children
and yourself. You need a lot of willpower and a large sense of humor. Set your alarm at least an hour
before you really need to get out of the bed. If you set the alarm for an earlier hour you get to hit the
snooze button few extra times. After the third hit, you should have awakened enough to actually rise

Start helping the kids to get ready for school. When you start looking for shoes, do not forget places
such as the trampoline, under the kitchen table, in the couch, and on top of the aquarium. This will
help speed up the process of getting the kids ready before the bus arrives. Once the bus does pull up to
the driveway send the kids on their way. Remember that standing outside in your pajamas and waving
until the bus is out of sight does not embarrass your children. These actions show them how much you
love them no matter what they say. Get yourself ready for the school day. Warm up your second cup of
coffee and take a deep breath. Get a shower and wash your hair, brush teeth, get dressed, put breakfast
dishes in the sink to soak, make sure all your homework is done for today s classes, put books into
book bag, and put all of your things into the car. Don t forget that since you will be gone most of the

The Pros And Cons Of The Declaration Of Independence
What were Thomas Jeffereson s, Alexander Hamilton s, John Jay s, and James Madison s reasons
behind the most historical documents? Durning the time period of the Founding Father s the American
colonies were barely starting to form a government and it had its flaws and they still had to deal with
gaining their independence from Great Britain. In the Declaration of Independence Thomas Jeffereson
writes it to give reasons to why the American colonies are going to seperate from Great Britain.
Hamilton, Jay, and Madison write the Federalists Papers to try and convince the people of the
American colonies to ratify the new constitution. In the Declaration of Independence Jefferson gives
logical reasoning and also emtional reasoning through the type of words he uses and in the Federalists
Papers they use logical reasoning and their creditbilty to convince the people. When Thomas Jefferson
wirtes the Declaration of Independence he wirtes it to explain why the American colonies will be
seperating from Great Britian. He does that by using logos. For taking away our Charters, abolishing
our most valuable Laws, and altering fundamentally the Forms of our Governments: . This passage
explains some of the reasons why they seperate from Great Britain, Jefferson uses actual facts so that
Great Britain can t deny it. Through out the entire declaration he uses logos to back up why the
American colonies leave. He doesn t want people to think they are leaving just for no reason.

For instance, Ms. Gading heard repetitively from staff that faxes were not going through thus
increases workloads and decreasing the likelihood of authorizations. Faxes were also being combined

concerns over authorizations and potential HIPAA violations; however, no resolution was found until

The Black Liberation Movement
Introduction
African American women faced racism and classism from white women in the feminist movement and
sexism by male African Americans in the Black Liberation Movement. As a result, double jeopardy
became a classic feminist term in the exploration of oppression, feminism and racism in the U.S.
during the 20th Century (Hooks, 2000). The myths held by some black women hindered their
participation in the movement. Minority women were disadvantaged in the labor market, in addition to
being exposed to women trafficking and race based violence against them because race may
sometimes go against gender hence the need for the society to ensure equality in all feminist and
liberalization movements. Despite the held misperceptions of some black ... Show more content on

The black women faced exclusion from the movement s activities, for example, participation in
conference panels. The representation of the Whites and Blacks in the movement s activities was
uneven. The black women had no classes for universal women experiences, unlike the white women
who ignored the differences between their experiences based on race and class differences. The white
feminists showed an unwillingness to accept their racism based on the sentiment that they could not
oppress the black women since the white men also oppressed them. This implies that none of the two
movements was for the liberation of the African race especially the black women since they sprang
from the desire to uplift the whites. In response, a decision was made to form the Black Feminist
Movement to address the needs of the black women from which the concept of double jeopardy

Benefits of Virtual Teams
Virtual teams today are an important part of business, particularly where the business expands
globally. Although there are particular challenges associated with virtual teams, such as
communication technology, cultural concerns, and potential conflict resulting from these issues, the
advantages associated with these far outweigh the disadvantages. Virtual teams have the potential to
maintain the integrity and unity of the business venture on a global level at a paradigm that has never
before been possible. When a company wishes to expand to a new country, especially one that is
significantly different in culture and practice from the United States, virtual teams, if well chosen, can
significantly facilitate the process. When making a decision to expand to Poland, for example, virtual
teams can help to identify potential markets, potentially challenging cultural differences, recruit tem
members in the target country, and assess the potential for success. Poland is a country that has several
potential markets for expansion. The country is rich in natural mineral resources, for example (Europa,
2011). These include iron, zinc, copper, and rock salt. Any of these resources can then be used as a
basis for a new business expansion. Salt, for example, can even be used in art. Another important
component of the foreign market is its labor force. According to Walewski (2011), there is a relatively
high demand for legal employment as well as a highly energetic commitment to

Economic Benefits Of Fracking
Morse attempts to show the positives of fracking by citing economic benefits. One of his purported
benefits is that fracking will bolster employment by some three million jobs (Morse 3 7). Although
this evidence is convincing, it relies on rosy estimates and ignores the potential loss of jobs associated
with fracking. Even Pennsylvania, a state that experiences one of the strongest economic impacts of
fracking, has not experienced such levels of growth and prosperity. Former governor Tom Corbett
campaigned on the fact that fracking supported 200,000 jobs, yet the Pennsylvania Department of
Labor and Industry reported ...just over 30,000 people were employed by industries directly tied to the
fracking boom in the third quarter of last year (Foran 7). The PDLI did also report the 200,000 figure
as an expanded estimate; however, officials admit it is mere guesswork. ... Show more content on

The growth rate for these jobs is also rather slow. According the Bureau of Labor Statistics, the oil and
gas industry has only added 23,500 jobs to Pennsylvania from 2002 to 2012. Furthermore, fracking
can be linked to job loss. When a commodity is in abundance, its price goes down. Low prices may be
beneficial to consumers, but when prices are too low, producers lose revenue. This economic principle
is particularly noticeable in the oil and gas industry. Halliburton, an oil field services company who
specializes in fracking, laid off 9,000 employees in the first quarter of 2015 due to low oil prices (
Lower Oil Prices ). Although fracking may not have been the direct cause of these low prices, it
creates surges in oil and gas that cause similarly low

Factors Of An Authoritarian Government In The Movie V For...
People should not be afraid of their governments, governments should be afraid of their people. In an
authoritarian government, the citizens listen to their director because they have this fear within them,
that if they do not do what is asked of them they will face consequences. But in reality, the citizens
have power over the government and the government is the one that is living in fear. At any moment
someone can threaten the government. This has been seen through terrorist acts such as 9/11 terror
attacks, and this has been demonstrated in the movie V For Vendetta. In the movie V For Vendetta, V
attempts to bring freedom and justice into a society that has been corrupt from having an authoritarian
government. He threatens the government and tells them a year in advance that he will blow up the
most important building in their city, but the government was not able to stop him. V wanted the city
of London, England to have freedom and rights, free press, and to no longer have to live in fake fear,
all three which are factors of an authoritarian government. In V For Vendetta, it is displayed that the
citizens have no rights and freedoms, the media is controlled by the government, and that the
government creates fear. The citizens or as called in an authoritarian government subjects of London
do not have any rights. They must follow the rules of the government, and if they do not there will be
a corollary. Gordon Deitrich was a homosexual man that practiced the Muslim

humans, and is expressed by all nucleated cells of trans membrane proteins. CD46 has been identified
as having a receptor for gonococcal pilus. N. Gonorrhoeae posse piliated gonococci that adhere to a

  • 2. Persuasive Essay On Sexual Assault Sexual assault is a major issue in the world we live in today. The punishment that people get is never what they actually deserve. There has been all kinds of crime rates for sexual offence all over the world. Surveys in the United States have proven that one of every six women has experienced an attempt of rape or even a completed rape experience. Many women who are sexually assaulted are assaulted by men that they know,or has came into contact with. Women are rarely going to report that they have been raped when they know the asaultiant. With this being said there are alot of cases that are under reported. In this essay i will argue the many reasons why women are afraid to report a sexual assault crime made against them. One of the main reasons why women do not even try to report the offence is because they know that nothing is going to happen and that is an issue. In the words of Kirsten Gillibrand There is a pervasive lack of understanding when it comes to the true nature of campus sexual assault. These are not dates gone bad or a good guy who had too much to drink. This is a crime largely perpetrated by repeat offenders, who instead of facing a prosecutor and a jail cell remain on campus after a short term suspension, if punished at all. (Gillibrand 28). A punishment for these kind of people should never be just a slap on the hand. Sexaula assault is a real crime and women should be able to see that whoever has done this horrible thing to them should have great ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Burn Patterns To Start A Fire Individual Portion A plant or a booster burn pattern is said to be a pattern of any preparation for the unlawful setting of a fire, primarily the material is put around the ignition device to feed the initial flame. Fortunately, for this pattern newspaper is normally the most popular material. However, wood shavings, rags, blankets, clothing and cotton waste is the most highly used material for industrial and factory fires. Therefore, these are also some of the common plants that can start a fire. • 4. The American Dream In The Era Of The American Dream The American Dream is the opportunity for success, and the ability to achieve prosperity and a better life for yourself, and your family. Literature through American history has changed multiple times each one defining a new standard and covering new ideas. The time period of the Romanticism Era covered through the 1830s 70s, which brought new values to literature and art, other examples were transcendentalism and Anti transcendentalism, which were opposites one featuring nature and the other showed more dark tones. These eras affected the American dream changing the standards of american literature and bring forth new forms of thinking. The Romanticism Era was during the time of the industrial revolution and the abolishment movement, during this era literature stressed thought over reason, using your imagination, and the human experience as a whole. In the poem The Tide Rises, The Tide Falls by Henry Longfellow he writes The little waves, with their soft, white hands,/Efface the footprints in the sands,/ And the tide rises the tide falls (8 10). Longfellow depicts an image of waves moving through the sand as they wash away the footprints in the sands. Longfellow takes time to think about the small things which was an ideal during that era. Another example is by Longfellow was in his sonnet The Cross of Snow he phrases that Displays a cross of snow upon its side./ Such is the cross I wear upon my breast/ These eighteen years, through all the changing scenes/ And ... Physical Effects Of Virtual Reality VIRTUAL REALITY When many people think of the term virtual reality , they imagine someone wired up to a computer, wearing an odd helmet and making weird movements in the air. Well, this is partly true. However, virtual reality is basically computer simulated reality. VIRTUAL REALITY is a computer generated environment that is created by combining audio, visual and tactile human/computer interfaces to simulate a real world environment. Virtual reality means that the user is fully immersed in a world of artificial environment that the computer has generated. One of the most common and simplest applications of virtual reality is your 3D movie. The 3D glasses give the impression that some of the objects in the movie are actually within your reach. ... Nearly everyone can gain benefits from Genetic Algorithms, once he can encode solutions of a given problem to chromosomes in GA, and compare the relative performance (fitness) of solutions. An effective GA representation and meaningful fitness evaluation are the keys of the success in GA applications. Gas are useful and efficient when the search space is large, complex or poorly understood, traditional search methods fail, domain knowledge is scarce or expert knowledge is difficult to encode to narrow the search space and no mathematical analysis is available. The advantage of the GA approach is the ease with which it can handle arbitrary kinds of constraints and objectives; all such things can be handled as weighted components of the fitness function, making it easy to adapt the GA scheduler to the particular requirements of a very wide range of possible overall objectives. • 6. The Importance Of War In All Quiet On The Western Front Erich Maria Remarque s novel, All Quiet on the Western Front, depicts the true horror and brutality of war, and has shown people all over the world what it can actually means to fight for one s country. Although it may seem as though going to war is brave and honorable, that is not always the case. Through descriptive and graphic scenes, Remarque depicts the futility of war and unveils the terrors experienced by soldiers fighting on the Western Front during World War I. The theme of the meaninglessness of war is found throughout Remarque s novel, accompanied by the feelings of hopelessness of the soldiers when they realize it. The novel conveys that after fighting for so long, a soldier begins to realize that the killing is futile and results only in unnecessary deaths. The deaths on the Western Front were often in vain, because no territory was every really gained or lost during the front s battles. The doubt of the soldiers and their purpose can be seen in Kropp s words, when he ponders the morality of war: We are here to protect our fatherland. And the French are over there to protect their fatherland. Now who s in the right? (page 203). ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... He understands that even if the soldiers were to return to their former lives, they would not know what to do with themselves, because they have changed and no longer identify with civilians. This can be seen as Paul reflects on his life while he is in the hospital: I am young. I am twenty years old; yet I know nothing of life but despair, deaths, fear [...] I see how peoples are set against one another, and in silence, unknowingly, foolishly, obediently, innocently slay one another (page 263). • 8. Enzymes and pH Concentration Enzymes and pH Concentration Abstract Enzymes are high molecular weight molecules and are proteins in nature. Enzymes work as catalysts in biochemical reactions in living organisms. Enzyme Catecholase is found on in plants, animals as well as fungi and is responsible for the darkening of different fruits. In most cases enzymatic activities are influenced by a number of factors, among them is temperature, PH, enzyme concentration as well as substrate concentration (Silverthorn, 2004). In this experiment enzyme catecholase was used to investigate the effects of PH and enzyme concentration on it rate of reaction. A pH buffer was used to control the PH, potato juice was used as the substrate and water was used as a solvent. The experiments involved PH buffers of different pH were added to potato juice, water, and the enzyme catecholase. The mixture was then subjected to spectrophotometer at a wavelength of 420nm taking the absorbance readings. In the second experiment, a phosphate buffer of PH 7.0 was used in different measures together with different measurement of potato juice and the enzyme catecholase then subjected to the spectrophotometer at a wavelength of 420nm. The data collected inform of table and analyzed using descriptive statistics such as line graph and later interpreted, showing that PH and enzyme concentration do affect the rate of enzyme reaction Introduction Living cells are involved in a series of chemical reactions rapidly due to the participation of ... How Did Marie Curie Use X-Ray Shreya Vallimanalan 7 7 12/5/2015 Marie Curie and the Exploration of Radium During the early nineteenth century, French physicist Henri Becquerel observed radioactivity by recording how uranium emits radiation that is strong enough to blacken covered photographic plates. Scientists used to believe that uranium emitted rays , after they headed about Becquerel s work. Later on, after Curie s research, they came to know that those rays were actually very small particles. Wilhelm Roentgen discovered x rays, which led Marie Curie to use x ray treatment during World War I to heal thousands of wounded soldiers and educate thousands of women about this technique. Using this discovery as her thesis topic, Marie Curie wanted to know more. According to the Atomic Heritage Foundation, she wondered whether or not there were other elements that emitted radiation. She soon discovered that thorium emitted radiation as well. She came to the conclusion that radioactivity does not depend on how the atoms are arranged into molecules, but with the atoms themselves. For this revolutionary discovery, Marie and Pierre Curie won a Nobel Prize in Physics. She even coined the term radioactivity , which is the disintegration of an unstable nucleus by the change of the energy level of the nucleus by gamma ray emission. She also changed scientists views on atoms. Originally, scientists believed that atoms were unbreakable bits of matter, but Marie Curie proved them wrong. She stated that radium atoms break apart into several smaller atoms of all different sizes. This was one of her greatest motivations to discover two incredibly radioactive elements, radium and polonium. She also proved that rays are actually energy that is released from within the atom, rather than the age old belief that rays came from the surface of the material. She worked with J.J. Thompson, using x rays, to figure out that atoms were not just the smallest bits of matter, since there were rays that are made up of even smaller ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 14. The Indelibility Of The Past In The Mayor Of Casterbridge... In the Mayor of Casterbridge, Thomas Hardy shows how one man s mistakes can impact the rest of his life. The two themes I found most significant in The Mayor of Casterbridge are honesty and the indelibility of the past. In order to fully study these themes and their effects on our protagonist s life, we must start where his story begins. Mr. Henchard, our story s namesake, has committed a grievous sin by drunkenly auctioning off his wife and child. This is not the first time he has made an abusive action against Susan, as evidenced by her line, I ve lived with thee a couple of years and had nothing but temper! (Hardy 13). Evidently their relationship is incredibly flawed if Michael could not put to rest his alcoholism and anger issues for the sake of his wife and child. He takes action against his alcohol issues by vowing never to touch strong liquor for the next twenty years. However, it is too late for his marriage and the damage has already been done. The place of women in Henchard s life ties deeply into the indelibility of the past. When we meet him again, he has not only become the most successful hay trusser in the town, but has also become the mayor. Henchard s reformed behavior shows results, but it isn t enough to break him from his curse of bad interpersonal relationships. For one thing, he has made commitments to another woman who caught feelings for him and got in trouble for messing with him, and he felt he owed her something. While this story ... • 17. The Era Of Good Feeling Essay Following the death of the Federalist political party, and after entering a time of political unity, the United States entered what historians refer to as the Era of Good Feeling . This era began after the War of 1812, a war between America and Britain, and the Napoleonic Wars, a series of wars taken place in the seas near France, ended. The Federalist party was dissolving at the end of the war, and was completely dissolved when Monroe came into office as president in 1817. At the start of this era, there was primarily a one party political system, the Democratic Republicans, and there was a rise of nationalism, hence the era received the title Good Feeling . Socially, this nationalism was felt throughout the entire nation, specifically directly following the war, in 1815 1817. Economically, however, the issues of state sovereignty led to the rise of sectionalism, not deserving of the title Good Feeling . Furthermore, politically, America at this time began to split into the second party system. While at the start almost everyone was Republican, sectionalism arose during this era, and ultimately led to the ending of the good feelings entirely. Overall, the time between 1815 and 1825 is undeserving of its name, The Era of Good Feeling, and sectionalism played a larger role in the United States at this time then nationalism did. Socially, the the title good feeling is an accurate representation of the nationalism people were feeling at the time following the War of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The Importance Of The Evolution Of Sexual Selection As a result of sexual selection, many male animals have evolved extraordinary structures, usually used as ornaments for attracting females, or weapons, for fighting mating rivals (Douhard et al., 2017; O Biren et al., 2017; McCullough et al., 2016; McCullough and Emlen, 2013; Emlen, 2008). The diversity of these structures is usually extremely high (both intra and interspecifically) and have existed in many animal groups, including extinct trilobites and dinosaurs, to beetles, birds and hoofed mammals (ungulates) found today (O Biren et al., 2017; McCullough et al., 2016; Emlen, 2008; Emlen et al., 2005; Emlen, 2001). This bias is likely influenced by the appearance of horns in many female bovid species as well as caribou, the only female cervid to evolve antlers, possibly as anti predator defences, a result of natural selection (McCullough et al., 2016; Stankowich and Caro, 2009; Emlen, 2008; Bro Jørgensen, 2007). Although investigating beetles, McCullough et al. (2014) determined weapon morphology to be more effective against species typical fighting, with sexual selection through male male competition enhancing horn diversity. Only relatively more recently, have effects of male male competition, within ungulates, to the diversity of horn morphologies received increased attention, despite such studies being present within the field for over 50 years (McCullough et al., 2016; Bro Jørgensen, 2007; Caro et al., 2003). The evolution of horns within artiodactyls is thought to have arisen independently at least three times, with a change in habitat from closed to open woodland and at a crucial body weight of around 15 18kg, which is thought to influence territorial defence by males (Janis, 1982). As a result, many investigations on horn morphology diversity among male bovids and cervids has been completed to environmental factors, scaling relationships of body mass and social variables that may ... How Is Paul Von Hindenburg A Hero Paul Von Hindenburg was a renowned military and political leader for Germany; he is most notable for being a distinguished Field Marshal for the Imperial German Army during WWI, and being the second president of the Weimar republic. His military hero status was essential for his ability to garner support from the German public. His monarchistic views were highly influential in shaping the government while he was reigning as president, and as a result of his seat of presidency, he was a major determining factor in the eventual fate of the republic. During and after the war, Hindenburg was seen as a national hero, and was considered to have embodied all of the positive characteristics of the collective German people. While the appeal of Hindenburg was present throughout all social classes, religions, and political view points, it was the German right wing political groups which idolised Hindenburg the most; seeing him as a portrayal of classic Prussian ethics, and Lutheran and Junker values. Despite this support for Hindenburg personally at the home front, support for the war itself was dwindling, and after General Ludendorf s failed spring offensive, the situation seemed hopeless for the German military. With conditions on the home front worsening, and realising the dire situation Germany faced in the war, on the 29th September 1918; General Hindenburg, General Ludendorf and the Kaiser Wilhelm II agreed to establish a new democratic government in Germany to replace the current form of government. In spite of this seeming like a victory for the democrats in Germany, it has been argued that this was just an effort to deflect blame for the inevitable defeat at the hands of the allies to left wing elements on the home front. But Nation branding concerns a countries whole image, covering political, economic, historical and cultural dimensions. A Nation has not one but multiple images. What image is retrieved depends on the audience , the context and the time. On this occasion, I happened to be visiting friends in Tete Juene Cache, British Columbia, several hundred miles into the interior. Tete Jeune was the French word for Yellow Head . The name, like the town itself, was a vivid reminder of the not so long ago gold rush days. Fewer than a thousand residents hid in the forests and canyons of this small settlement that clung to the western edge of the Canadian Rockies. Now from the mountain, flowed a creed of the same name, the actual disposition of, was sometimes that of a well healed river in spring, often a mere trickle in summer. On this hot Sunday in July however, new friends and families were arriving at Chuck Gail s every moment. A holiday picnic had been planned in front of the farmhouse. Tables had been set up; barbecue pits ignited, croquet mallets waited. Howard the Monk arrived early, bringing with him a pot of still warm baked beans. • 32. Benefits of Virtual Teams Virtual teams today are an important part of business, particularly where the business expands globally. Although there are particular challenges associated with virtual teams, such as communication technology, cultural concerns, and potential conflict resulting from these issues, the advantages associated with these far outweigh the disadvantages. Virtual teams have the potential to maintain the integrity and unity of the business venture on a global level at a paradigm that has never before been possible. When a company wishes to expand to a new country, especially one that is significantly different in culture and practice from the United States, virtual teams, if well chosen, can significantly facilitate the process. When making a decision to expand to Poland, for example, virtual teams can help to identify potential markets, potentially challenging cultural differences, recruit tem members in the target country, and assess the potential for success. Poland is a country that has several potential markets for expansion. The country is rich in natural mineral resources, for example (Europa, 2011). These include iron, zinc, copper, and rock salt. Any of these resources can then be used as a basis for a new business expansion. Salt, for example, can even be used in art. Another important component of the foreign market is its labor force. Even Pennsylvania, a state that experiences one of the strongest economic impacts of fracking, has not experienced such levels of growth and prosperity. Former governor Tom Corbett campaigned on the fact that fracking supported 200,000 jobs, yet the Pennsylvania Department of Labor and Industry reported ...just over 30,000 people were employed by industries directly tied to the fracking boom in the third quarter of last year (Foran 7). This economic principle is particularly noticeable in the oil and gas industry. Although fracking may not have been the direct cause of these low prices, it creates surges in oil and gas that cause similarly low ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 34. Factors Of An Authoritarian Government In The Movie V For... People should not be afraid of their governments, governments should be afraid of their people. In an authoritarian government, the citizens listen to their director because they have this fear within them, that if they do not do what is asked of them they will face consequences. But in reality, the citizens have power over the government and the government is the one that is living in fear. At any moment someone can threaten the government. This has been seen through terrorist acts such as 9/11 terror attacks, and this has been demonstrated in the movie V For Vendetta. In the movie V For Vendetta, V attempts to bring freedom and justice into a society that has been corrupt from having an authoritarian government. He threatens the government and tells them a year in advance that he will blow up the most important building in their city, but the government was not able to stop him. V wanted the city of London, England to have freedom and rights, free press, and to no longer have to live in fake fear, all three which are factors of an authoritarian government. In V For Vendetta, it is displayed that the citizens have no rights and freedoms, the media is controlled by the government, and that the government creates fear. The citizens or as called in an authoritarian government subjects of London do not have any rights. They must follow the rules of the government, and if they do not there will be a corollary. Gordon Deitrich was a homosexual man that practiced the Muslim ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 35. Gonorrhoeae Virulence of N. gonorrhoeae is associated with pili, which demonstrate a crucial function in the forming of the initial attachment to the host cell. Pili twitching motility assist the pathogen in its upstream migration of the non motile gonococci, which allows for the colonization and ascendance to the mucosal surfaces. CD46 also plays an important role as it is a complement regulatory protein and can be associated with having properties of a membrane cofactor receptor. CD46 is specific to humans, and is expressed by all nucleated cells of trans membrane proteins. CD46 has been identified as having a receptor for gonococcal pilus. N. Gonorrhoeae posse piliated gonococci that adhere to a host by synthesis of dense microcoloniess on the cell s surface. The Opa proteins as well as lipopolysaccharides bind closely through cell surface receptor epithelial host, subsequently allowing bacterial subjugation and trancytosis of the epithelial cell host. ...
