Postitive Influence of Rock Music
Positive Influences of Rock Music
Beneath misconceptions attached to rock music, lies the truth. In a recent unpublished survey,
results showed that the majority of people, a mixture of different age groups and genre listeners,
disagree that rock music has had any positive influences that outweigh the negative (Do). Through
lack of analyzing, many judge rock music without ever knowing the truth about it. Those that do
not understand the genre may blame it for everything that is wrong with today. Rock music is not
to blame for the darkness in our society; instead, it leads us away from it. It has many positive
influences that cannot be seen at a quick glance. Not only has rock affected individuals but society
and time altogether. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
System of a Down, a successful and influential rock band recite in В‘Boom! , one of their newest
songs:
Modern globalization, coupled with condemnations, unnecessary death, matador corporations,
puppeting your frustrations, with the blinded flag, manufacturing consent, is the name of the game,
the bottom line is money, nobody gives a f***. 4000 hungry children die per hour, from starvation,
while billions spent on bombs, create death showers (System of a Down).
Bands such as System of a Down are often charged with lyrics depicting their political views in
the world they live in. Rage Against the Machine similarly expressed their views through rock
music. They have been known to burn flags at their concerts, not to be malicious, but to make their
audience aware of freedom of speech and self expression. Many have followed suit and become
more involved with politics through bands like these, showing them that it is okay to be educated
in the issues around them. Recently with a push from punk bands, many have taken initiative to
vote and get educated in the 2004 elections. Punk rock bands joined together to start a website to
further influence and educate their audience called PunkVoter.com. Although they were biased
and stated so, their main goal was also made clear. Our goal is to educate, register and mobilize
over 500,000 of today s youth as one voice. We plan to use this election as a way to get our fans

Exploring the Current day Impact of the Canadian Indian...
When someone speaks of great inequalities and human rights violations, very seldom is Canada as a
nation (in a broader sense,) conjured together with these thoughts. However, in reality probably
some of the greatest human right violations within our time and even within the late modern period,
and most concerning examples of them, can be found through looking back into Canadian history.
For many this may be a surprise to hear, however for others, specifically the native population of
Canada, we can assume this is well understood. Commonly known today as Indian residential
schools, a great act of wrong was committed under the command and leadership of the Canadian
government starting back with elementary roots through the passage of the... Show more content on

Corporal punishment and cruelties were seen when such things as previously discussed, like
practice of cultural and usage of native language, were practiced by native children in these
residential schools. Lack of basic life necessities in these residential schools also resulted in
disturbing mortality rates. Several doctors commissioned to inspect and report on health
standings of children in residential school, found results that would bring horror in relation to
current world standards. One doctor by the name of Dr. Bryce, found that in Western Canadian
residential schools between 1894 1908, throughout a five year period thirty to sixty percent of a
class would die (Bryce, 1922). These findings and others were published in Dr. Bryce s book,
The Story of a National Crime: Being a Record of the Health Conditions of the Indians of Canada
from 1904 to 1921. In total it is estimated over 3000 children died from disease and lack of basic
necessities during the time of government run Indian residential schools in Canada from 1884 to
the final closing in 1996 (The Canadian Press, 2013). Mortality rates demonstrate well the scale and
cruelty of the human right violations that occurred in these residential schools, but only begins to
touch the surface of other atrocities such as previously mentioned. Physical and sexual abuse was
common and in most cases severe, and punishments and deprivation

Calculate The Kinetic Energy And Energy Of An Object...
Calculating Energy
Introduction:
The objective of this lab was to calculate the kinetic energy and potential energy of an object
through experimenting with a car and measuring its velocity when passing through photogates
while carrying a certain amount of weights. In order to find kinetic and potential energy, we applied
the concepts of velocity and speed that we learned previously. This lab showed us the application
of the concepts we learned in class and how potential energy is converted into kinetic energy, and
vice versa.
Theory: write more!
The principle used in this lab was that energy is conserved. The total energy is distributed as either
kinetic energy or potential energy. Kinetic energy is caused due to motion and potential energy is
caused due to gravity. We used the following formulas to calculate kinetic and potential energy, and
percent difference:
P.E. = mgh, K.E. = 1/2(M+m)v^2, and % difference=|PE KE|/KE*100%.
Experiment:
The materials used in this lab were an air track, a beam balance, a car, a meter stick, a meter stick,
pulley system, and weights. In the first portion of the lab, we measured the potential energy. My
group and I did this by measuring the height (100 cm) from the ground to the pulley and multiplied
that by the mass of the. After gathering the results for the potential energy which was surprisingly
easy to do, we moved on to the second portion of the lab, assembling data for the kinetic energy.
We started by weighing the car, which came out

explanation to why nurses do what they do. I have given no thought to the use of nursing theory

nursing theory in my everyday work of nursing. A nurse will use multiple nursing theories during

COPD is a progressive disease which leads to exercise intolerance and extreme shortness of
breath. According to the World Health Organization (WHO) data, more than 80 million COPD
patients have reached intermediate or severe stages ( Akyil amp; Erguney, 2012). Data was
collected from December 2008 to January of 2010. The data collection tool was comprised of an
adaptation of Roy s Adaptation Model (RAM) an evaluation form from social support of friends
and family. Care and treatment of those with chronic disease doesn t aim for healthy return of
function but for adaptative to and cooperative to management of disease. Nursing education is
extremely important in care of the COPD patient. Patient s can increase knowledge and acquire
healthy behavior by nursing education and follow up. Example #2, In the second article found is

The same four human dimensions are the four adaptive phases of Roy s adaptive theory which are
physiological, psychological, social and existential. Each patient needs to learn about the transitions
of life and death. While it s impossible to change the course of terminal illness, nurses and other

The Combustion of Polymers
Introduction
The history of polymers stretch back millions of years. These primitive polymers were created by
nature to fulfill the needs of information storage, energy storage and information reproduction.
Human made polymers are a more recent invention, of the last two hundred years or so. These
polymers are general made of highly flammable hydrocarbons and their derivatives. Fires caused
by a combination of human careless and the physical properties of hydrocarbons have caused
millions of dollars in property damage and claimed an untold number of human lives. It is this fact
that has lead to scientists devoting time and resources to making polymers safer. In the following
paragraphs the mechanism behind burning polymers will be ... Show more content on

This dehydrates the polymer, forming the protective carbon layer. At higher temperatures the
phosphoric acid can help in the generation of cross linked species and can under go
polymerization to form polyphosphates. Which react with the cross linked species to form the
char layer. Borated species work the same way, they form a glassy surface that helps protect and
insulate the substrate. The final pathway that will be investigated is the suppression of radical
species in the reaction space. This is done by introducing halogenated hydrocarbons and an
inorganic enhancer into the polymer. When the polymer burns, halogen radicals are released into
the gas phase. The halogen reacts with hydrogen, to form a hydrogen halide. Finally, this species
reacts with either hydrogen or oxygen radical to form hydrogen gas or water vapor, respectfully.
From this series of reactions the halogen radical is regenerated, where it reacts with either the
polymer substrate or more gaseous hydrogen to form hydrogen halide. The halogen radicals are at a
lower energy than either the hydrogen or oxygen radical species. The effectiveness of this method
is dependent on the halogen used. Bromine is the most common due to it narrow temperature
activation range. Chlorine is the next most common but due to a broad temperature range is not as
useful. Florine and

What Is The Theme Of Act Of Union By Seamus Heaney
Act of Union Through the years, Irish poetry had a leaning towards representing Ireland as a raped
woman. Seamus Heaney s Act of Union , from his 1975 book of poetry, North, uses the theme of
relationship, portraying Britain as a man towering over the weaker, feminine Ireland. The poem
uses strong sexual metaphors, which try to compare the colonization of Irelandto that of a rape. The
metaphors used through the poem describes what took place between England and Ireland as well
as a sexual act taking place between a man and a woman. The poem s title Act of Union shadows
over the poem with its double meaning. One interpretation of the title can be the actual Act of
Union in 1801. After the Irish Rebellion in 1798, the British Cabinet decided... Show more content

The first line of the second stanza, And I am still imperially continues to cover the images of
rape and violence. The word male begins the new line giving it a stress that has connotations of
strength and power. The power of the speaker is revealed, when he leaves Ireland with the pain of
a conquest. Again, it also has a double meaning, referring to the aftermath of a rape, pregnancy. In
the next two lines, the speaker describes the pain of childbirth, where Britain does not need to bear
the consequences, he can leave Ireland, the pregnant woman , to deal with the difficult outcomes.
Britain takes advantage of a union between the two, leaving Ireland painfully abused and hurt.
These imagery s The battering ram, the boom burst from within , further reinforces the sexual and
violent act on Ireland. The next line The act sprouted an obstinate fifth column mentions a fifth
column, a term used to describe traitors. This fifth column the poem refers to can be read as a
political movement, certainly, and is often thought to refer to Ulster loyalists. It s the offspring of
the liaison, Northern Ireland, who is turning on its father, Whose stance is growing unilateral. The
angry young man of Northern Ireland are represented through the sound of the wardrum , and we
can see that in the next line, Northern Ireland is represented as a male: His heart beneath your heart

Essay on Cells and their parts
Cells are some of the smallest organisms around. All living things consist of cells, and yet they are
invisible to the naked eye. Cells are the basic structural and functional units of life. Cells are made
up of many different parts which allow them to function properly.
All cells are separated from their surrounding by a cell membrane. The cell membrane regulates
what enters and leaves the cell and also aids in the protection and support of the cell. A cell
membrane is similar to the walls surrounding your house.
In plants the cell membrane is surrounded by a cell wall. The cell wall is outside the cell
membrane, and its purpose is to help the membrane protect and support the cell. Since the cell wall
is very porous, water, oxygen, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Chromosomes contain the genetic information that must be passed to each new generation of cells.
Chromosomes are what you pass on to your children to make them who they are, it s the DNA of a
cell.
The cytoplasm is the area between the nucleus and the cell membrane. The cytoplasm contains
many important structures. This area is basically the main place where you will find structures that
help the cells stay alive.
Mitochondrion is an importance structure that lies in the cytoplasm area. Mitochondrion is the
plural word for mitochondria, which is the key organelle that converts energy from one form to
another. Mitochondria changes the chemical energy stored in food into compounds that are more
convenient for the cell to use. The mitochondrion contains two special membranes. The outer
membrane surrounds the organelle, and the inner membrane has many folds that increase the
surface area of the mitochondrion.
Ribosomes are the structures in which proteins are made. Cells that are active in protein synthesis
are often crowded with ribosomes. Ribosomes are composed of RNA and protein. Some
ribosomes are attached to the membranes, and some are free in the cytoplasm. Ribosomes are
among the smallest of organelles. They are no larger than 25 nanometers in diameter. A nanometer
is equal to one billionth of a meter.

reticulum. The endoplasmic

Treatment Options of Acme Essay
The word acne comes from the word acme meaning the highest point , which comes from the Greek
akme meaning point or spot .
Acne is a skin condition that may occur due to hormonal changes during puberty or even during
pregnancy. Some attribute acne to external factors like greasy cosmetics and unhealthy diet. The
claims of a person s diet affecting their acne has not been verified yet. Another popular claim
links stress to acne, however, stress does not cause acne but it can contribute to worsen the
condition. It is characterized by visible blackheads, pustules, cysts and whiteheads. It can affect
any part of the body, like the face, neck, chest, shoulders or back and can occur in people of all age
groups. Although, not a dangerous ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
More often than not, people wanting an extreme solution for acne opt for laser surgery which is
said to minimize the scars left behind on the skin. Another common treatment sought out by the
dermatologists today is ACCUTANE. Since, it affects people of all age groups, an effective
treatment is yet to be found that will have the same effect for everybody. But since, everybody s
skin is different, no such common remedy exists and only a dermatologist can examine an
individual s skin and suggest the best possible course of action for the treatment.
ACCUTANE:
Also known by the name Isotretinoin or (13 cis retinoic acid), Accutane is used for the treatment
of severe cases of acne. It is a form of vitamin A which reduces the amount of oil released by oil
glands in the skin, and helps the skin renew itself more quickly. Accutane has long been
questioned regarding the uneven balance of its pros and cons with the cons weighing on the
heavier side. It has a long list of particularly dangerous side effects associated with it due to
which it can be prescribed only by specific dermatologists in consultation with the manufacturers.
It is administered orally in pill form and is advised to be taken with a meal containing appropriate
fat content, normally for 15 20 weeks (3.5 4.5 months), although it is also sometimes prescribed at
lower dosages for up to six months or longer. It is strictly advised to the patient to follow the

World Trade Center Collapse Case Study
So many changes had come about when the World Trade Center collapsed. Engineers and design
teams all across the country came together and wanted to make changes to buildings they build
today to reduce to number of fatalities and to have more means of egress in case of an emergency.
Not even years after the terriorist attacks, they came up with some changes that would help out the
situation and came up with some new safety regulations. Some of them include additional
stairways in buildings. More stairways in buildings is great when buildings exceed more than
1,000 plus people inside a buildingat one time. Having just one or two stairwells and having 1,000
plus people exiting will sometimes cause a hold up in getting out. Having more inside

of showing knowledge is a source of power when using social institutions to express thoughts on

could not see the push button on the side of the drinking fountain from their viewing angles to the

Kaku is very optimistic with the Class I impossibilities because we have technology that can
make these impossibilities possible in near future. Let s take an example regarding the
psychokinesis section. Kaku mentioned about the possibility of Radio enhanced or computer
enhanced psychokinesis. Similarly, Kaku mentioned that we are already able to develop a
technology to implant computer chips into the brain cells and we will be able to control the

more realistic and more likely to be possible, and some of them are even possible in this century.
Let s consider the Robots, they already exist in the real world. Kaku talks about creating a force

What Is Free Will In The Odyssey
Bayley Neville
Dr. Roberts
English 235

Free Will or Fate? How does Odysseus decline Circe s offer to become immortal? How does Don
Quixote become a knight? Was it free will or fate? Some may say that the Odyssey is completely
fate based and Don Quixote is entirely based on free will, but the two hold more similarities than
you may realize. Homer, the writer of The Odyssey, focuses mainly on the god s influence of
Odysseus s travels home. Miguel De Cervantes, writer of Don Quixote, uses Quixote s imagination
and decisions to motivate travel. Although they bear some minor similarities, the differences
between The Odyssey and Don Quixote are pronounced. Before discussing the similarities I
would like to go over the differences between the two. In the Odyssey, the gods are responsible
for controlling almost the entire story. They are the reason he gets captured and held for eight
years. They are the cause of the storm that nearly drags Odysseus out to sea. They play a very
important role in this poem. Don Quixote is written much differently than The Odyssey. Don
Quixote has much more freedom to choose what happens in his life. He decides to become a
knight and travel all over. He set off on a journey to help other and to earn his knighthood. He
does this at his own free will, something that Odysseus did not have. Odysseus did not decide to
get held for eight years and then suddenly be released to journey home. This proves that The
Odyssey and Don Quixote are

Essay on The Decline of British Military Innovation
World War I was perhaps the greatest catalyst for military innovation in modern history. The speed
in which the doctrinal, technical and tactical changes were developed and implemented was
astounding. At the end of World War I, Britain was at the forefront of doctrinal and technological
innovation in the field of armor and aircraft warfare. The factors which caused Britain to lose their
innovative edge in these areas prior to World War II was the 10 year rule policy, operational
attitude of the British Army, and an emphasis on land based aviation. At the conclusion of World
War I, Britain had the largest navyin the world, a brand new Royal Air Force(RAF) and an army that

The ten year policy was used by the British Government to continually decrease defense spending
until the policy was ended in 1932. The second factor that stifled the innovation of the British
military is the operational attitude of the military leadership. The British military failed to study
the lessons learned from World War I until 1932. This failure to study the battles of the war in a
timely manner resulted in the development of inferior doctrine and training concepts. If the lessons
would have been learned earlier than 1932, substantial changes could have been made to the
British doctrine and professional military education system prior to 1932. The structural,
leadership and cultural changes to the British Army after World War I contributed to a pervasive
disinterest in innovation. The ideas and attitudes of the military leadership remained those of the
prewar army. Those who seemed to be innovators were outcast and the leadership of the British
Army did not take their ideas seriously. Between 1923 and 1928, the British Army conducted
numerous field exercises to determine the proper use of mechanized or armored forces. Although
some shortfalls were identified in these maneuvers, the overall potential of armored forces was
evident. These tests identified the tactical advantages of firepower and maneuver of armored forces

History of Airplanes
The history of airplane obviously has begun after the real airplanes have been invented by
Orville and Wilbur Wright on December 17 1903. Airplanes made getting from one place to
another much faster. Increases speed of transportation of cargo and people and also as a war
platform. Increased speed medicines could be transported and people could be flown into and
out of war zones for treatment at a nearby unit or hospital. This transferred into the everyday
citizen s life outside of war time. What we call today life flight planes and helicopters. Airplanes
have changed by becoming faster, larger, and more usable. Airplanes can be used for a lot of things
now other than just flying one person around. They can be used for war, transportation,... Show

If the technique pans out, then aircraft, wind turbines and perhaps even spaceships of the future
may boast embedded circulatory systems with an epoxy resin that can bleed into holes or
cracks and then fluoresce under ultraviolet light to mark the damage like a bruise during follow
up inspections. The telephone was invented by Alexander Graham Bell in March of 1876. The
telephone changed the world by making communication easier for people in different parts of
the world. Imagine not being able to talk to a friend in another state or country. If telephones
aren t there, talking to someone on the go would be impossible. Telephones have changed in
many ways , now we have mobile telephones which are called cellphones .Nowadays, telephones
and cellphones look more modern and smaller. Cell phones can now do more than just call
people unlike in the 1970 s when it was first made. Now cellphones have games, music, notes, text
messaging, etc. Alexander Graham Bell was born on March 3, 1847 in Edinburgh, Scotland. His
father taught elocution and his mother was deaf. In 1870, Bell and his family moved to Canada.
Alexander graham bell was an eminent inventor who is credited with inventing the first practical
telephone. The telephone was invented because he wanted to find away how to communicate with
other people apart from talking face to face. The coin operated pay telephone was invented by
William Gray of Hartford in 1889. The first

The Thought and Influence of Voltaire Essay
The Thought and Influence of Voltaire
I The legacy of François Marie Arouet, or Voltaire is not only a vast collection of writings, but
also a world that has been radically and directly affected by these works and the activities of their
author. While Voltaire did not create many of the ideas he professed, his success at disseminating
these is unparalleled. He summed up with the most panache of anyone of his day the central issues
of the Enlightenment, and rallied with the greatest fervour to see his beliefs tangibly realised.
This paper will focus on Voltaires stances on vital issues, their weight versus the ideas and practices
against which they are reactions, and their influence on both 18th century Europe and the modern
West. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Cosmology Like many of the philosophes, Voltaire was a deist. He believed that, although God
was not one to intervene in earthly affairs, such an entity did exist. The scientific revolution had
demonstrated that the universe operated according to rational mechanics. Therefore, resembling a
machine, it must have an engineer behind it.5[5] While deist theories about space and time are
muddled and confusing for those of us who take modern science for granted (particularly in their
dependence on the concept of God),6[6] their nascent determinism is very familiar in this age
where behaviourism is so popular. Mired in Newtonian causality, Voltaire (echoing John Locke)
believed that action is the effect of which the will is the cause. The cause of the will is the effect of
environment. The environment is part of the clockwork universe made and wound by God.7[7]
While this theory brings environment into the discussion of development of personality, it makes
people into passive receptacles and cogs in machines.8[8]
Voltaire s belief in God was partly pragmatic. He recognised the difficulty of maintaining an ethical
system without rewards and punishments. The Christian tradition had so long used heaven and hell
as motivational factors that it was hard by the 18th century to imagine morality for its own sake.
While just laws would ensure just actions by the general population,

Basketball Is The Most Popular And Beloved Sports Essay
Basketball is one of the most popular and beloved sports that is played today. Michael Jordan who
played for the Washington Wizards and the Chicago Bulls once said, Just play, have fun, and enjoy
the game. (cite here) Whether playing with friends for fun or by professionals for entertainment or
simply watching from home, basketballis a sport that is enjoyed all over the world. Beginning with
an unique history, basketball has evolved over time from a simple idea into a professional career
choice for those with the unique skillset.
During the winter of 1892 in a town in Massachusetts a physical education teacher, Dr. James
Naismith, at a YMCA school created a game where young men could play indoors instead of
going outside in the freezing cold. The teacher and inventor of the game name was Dr. James
Naismith. To get prepared for the game, Dr. Naismith came up with some rules for the game,
gathered two peach baskets for hoops and a soccer ball and he coached the first basketball game in
history.
Dr. Naismith came up with thirteen rules. While four out of the thirteen rules that he came up with
no longer are followed in today s version of basketball, the nine that are left were slightly modified
and are still in use today.
The original thirteen rules are as follows:
The ball can be thrown with both hands in any direction.
The player can not run with the ball, so they have to throw it where they caught it from.
The ball can be batted in any direction not with the fist

Forecasting Using Eviews
Data The variables of interest are oil imports to Germany, and temperature in Germany. The
latter is used as a leading indicator for the former, to improve on the forecast obtained by the
univariate model. Both variables are collected over a time range from January 1985 until and
including December 1997, whereas the last year is not used for constructing the optimal forecast,
obtained by fitting a model through the data until the end of 1996. This will enable us to forecast
the year 1997 using our model, and then comparing it to the actual data. Assuming no large one

The insignificant December month can be explained by the little temperature difference compared
to the base month January, and roughly the same oil is consumed therefore. Moreover the negative
signs of their coefficients are in line with intuition, that in the coldest month January more oil is
needed than in all the other month. The last step before fitting autoregressive and moving averages
terms to the data, is to check for unit roots. We will use the augmented Dickey Fuller test to decide
whether the data has a unit root or not. The H0 of the test is that the data has a unit root against the

The interaction of persulfate content and time of reaction showed that high concentration of
persulfate and longer residence time caused better sugar yield, however, over 130 min no notable

In SPH system, first plot on the left showed the interaction of persulfate and heat amount, it was
obvious that any increment was beneficial to the better sugar yield. At 80 В°C, the glucose yield
increased from 10% to 18%, while the persulfate concentration increased from 0.6 M to 1.1 M

How Did Liberalism Return To Paganism
Liberalism, a return to Paganism.
Modern liberalism is an infantile disorder that purveys freedom as living as you like. Apparently it
yields indiscriminate tolerance, which is encapsulated in the campus adage I m okay, you re okay ,
but in reality its followers are intolerant to anything that opposes their worldview. If you probe
deeper, it is interesting how the ultimate essence of liberalism, like that of idol worship, is denial of
the unity of the world, hence unqualified pluralism.
Moreover, is it really a coincidence that Liberalism has embraced everything in paganism that all
earlier Abrahamic religions, and finally Islam had rejected the crass materialism, the cynicism, the
nihilism and fatalism, the hedonism? And is it also

Family Relationships With My Family
For two year, the first year my mother left dad, we lived with my maternal grandparents.
Although, I was toddler at the time I still acknowledge their efforts and support for a period my
family needed it the most. They occasionally visited for Christmas and for four of their
granddaughters quince, including mine. I visited them four times in Mexico. Because they live in
Mexico is it hard to keep constant contact with them. But they both had a huge influence and I have
great respect for them. When they visited Nebraska, they stayed in the household for a couples of
weeks. The most important extended familyrelationships are with my mom s sisters and brother
who reside in Nebraska.
The most important relationship outside my immediate family is with my cousin Brenda because
she is my best friend. We are only three months apart from each other and have many similarities.
We attended elementary and high school together. I honestly do not think our parents would have
handle us in the same middle school. We both attend UNL for our undergraduate. This year she
moved to Colorado for graduate school. I spend a lot of time at her house, therefore, her parents
had a huge impact on my upbringing. Her parents, my aunt Carmen and uncle Javier, would also
take my sister and I out for entertainment. Some of those include Disneyland, Worlds of Fun, and
Oceans of Fun. My aunt was very aware of my family relationship and the hostile relationship with
my dad, that I think she also invited us

The Stress Self Assessment Focused On My Stressors Essay
The Nature of Stress self assessment focused on my stressors. I learned that most of my stressors
were chronic; mainly dealing with school and socializing. The stressors were categorized as
mental and spiritual, although I did notice missing family and friends could fall under spiritual
and emotional. Another thing I learned was most of my stressors were caused from my move to
Bismarck. For example, living far from home, new job, and not having close friendships. This
form of assessment didn t work for me because I found I was focusing on the negative and felt
more stressed after seeing all my stressors in a list. The Signs of Stress assessment focused on
my personal symptoms of stress. I previously noticed these happened, but I never drew the
connection to stress. For example, I normally have very clear skin, but every once in awhile I ll
break out. The effects of stress are physiological. Now that I have a list of my signs of stress, I
am able to recognize when situations like break outs happen what is really going on. The
Personality Survey was to determine if I had a hardi personality. Before starting the assessment, I
predicted I would be classified with the hardi personality because I handle stress well. The
categories I scored highest on were I consider myself an optimist , I approach new situations with
the idea that I will learn something valuable , and I am strong willed . The one I resonate with

Dentist Be Damned
There are several shocking truths on oral hygiene that are not familiar to many people, some of
which has been shared by Alice Barnes, the author of the revolutionary and new program called
Dentist Be Damned .
It is important to note that you are NOT expected to brush your teeth after absorbing an acidic or
sugary food. If you do this, you will be damaging your enamel which will make your enamel wear
out probably result to cavities. By taking in acidic and sugary foods your enamel will become so
soft and weak, hence brushing it at this state will result to your enamel thinning and wearing out.

These type of toothpaste are known to contain bleach and other chemicals which are too strong for
everyday use, however, many people use them on a daily basis. By using this type of toothpaste
for a longer period of time, you will dangerously destroy your teeth s enamel which will make your
teeth sensitive. Make sure you avoid any teeth whitening or stain removal toothpaste if you have
sensitive teeth.
Alice also advised people to avoid the use of baking soda on their teeth; this is mainly because
baking soda is quite dangerous and can damage and weaken the teeth s enamel. Although, baking
soda may seem safe but when you apply it to your teeth, it can be compared to grinding your teeth
against sandpaper.
You should be aware of likely hazards if you have amalgam based fillings. This is mainly
because amalgam based fillings contain mercury which is very toxic to humans. It is important to
check them often in the case of a leakage or any other thing. You might end up being lethargic if
you have a broken amalgam based filling which could lead to weak immune systems and other
unwanted side effects. Due to the dangerous effect of amalgam based fillings and its side effects,

Varda And Ozu Analysis
Society and Self Service: Key Thoughts of Varda and Ozu
A sound comparison one could make between Agnes Varda s and Yasujiro Ozu s masterpieces is
that each presents a question key to feminist theory through the lives of their singular female
protagonists: what is the effect of societal pressures on a woman finding her identity? As the
titular character Cleo in Agnes Varnas Cleo a 5 de 7 rejects her role as an object of the public gaze,
and Noriko of Yasujiro Ozu s Late Springgrapples with her fate to play the part of a traditional
Japanese housewife, both directors explore this common concept of finding one s identity in an
unkind world through the use of such themes as routines, charades and emptiness.
Routines are a brief, but necessary element to both films; they establish their leading characters
as seeking security in repetition of societal norms, and serve to highlight the director s signature
style of camerawork in each film. For example, in reference to the title of Agnes Varda s film,
Cleo expects to receive her lover at 5 p.m., repeating a behavioral convention encouraged by
French society to meet one s lover at this time. She dons her wig and fluffy coat, lies on her bed
in wait of her attractive but patronizing lover, and plays along with his shallow display of
affection when he comes and goes as, it is implied, she has done several times before. The practice
of this routine allows the camera to advocate the underlying issue of the scene; the height of the

Consumers are being targeted and manipulated by shopping malls. Manipulation of consumers
begin with stores studying shopping behaviors and using those ideas to construct an environment
that encourages a consumer to spend more, by enticing the wandering eye with a sales poster

The attorneys and the mediator should also discuss how the session will proceed for example,
will the parties be divided into groups? Which issues will be mediated first? Will mediation occur
over the course of several sessions? The key to successfully mediating complex contract disputes is
to carefully and thoroughly prepare for the session.
Finally, do not forget the importance of preparing your clients. Though this may be your hundredth
mediation, it is probably their first.
Business Divorces and Limited Liability Company Lawsuits in Florida
Limited liability company lawsuits in Florida can be a complicated process. Prior to signing a
representation agreement with a client in a limited liability company lawsuit in Florida, you must
make sure that certain issues have been handled properly.
First, you must make sure that the individual hiring you has the authority to do so. This usually
requires a close study of the limited liability company s operating agreement. In fact, a wise
practice is to have your scheduling staff ask these individuals to bring copies of their operating
agreements to their first consultation with you. This will save time and allow the representation to
quickly proceed.
After you have determined the issues in the business divorce (also called dissolution, since the split
involves a limited liability company) you should advise your clients about the advantages of
mediation.

Cultural Analysis of Reproduction Emily Martin Anthropologist Emily Martins book The Woman

metaphors for women s reproductive processes and women s real thoughts about those processes

regarding three stages of life starting with the earliest in woman s life being puberty, then
childbearing, and final stages of reproduction cessation being menopause. 57% of the interviewees

dangers Martin found studying women in American society, was women talking about and reading
medical text that described uterine contractions during childbirth as separate, as though contractions
were outside of themselves and labor is something women actively go through. Reading descriptions
in medical texts, Martin wondered how male oriented views from textbooks matched so cohesively
with those of the interviewees. After some research, Martin realized the thought process of woman
during labor matched the text book definitions due the definitions men witnessed during childbirth
and illustrated in text books and woman culturally internalized and learned through ideology as a

Many of these mails are junk mails(mails which have promotion content in it).and mostly we

Analysis Of Chopin s Chopin
This news comes from her husband s friend, who says that Brently Mallard has died in a railroad
accident. Mrs. Mallard s sister, Josephine, mindful of Mrs. Mallard s heart condition, breaks the
news to her in broken sentences and veiled hints (193). But when Mrs. Mallard hears the shocking
news, she undergoes a profound transformation that empowers her with a clear and exalted
perception (194). As Chopin demonstrates, this heightened consciousness comes to the protagonist
because of her awakened emotions. Revealing her own dynamic and avant garde understanding,
Chopin rejects the tradition of attributing supremacy to the faculty of reason in the act of
perception, and she attributes it instead to the faculty of emotions.
When she hears the news of her husband s death, Mrs. Mallard s obliviousness to the beauty of life
breaks down under the powerful impact of emotion. Until this moment, Mrs. Mallard hardly thinks
it worthwhile to continue her existence; as the narrator of the story says, It was only yesterday
[Mrs. Mallard] had thought with a shudder that life might be long (194). Her life until this point
seems devoid of emotion, as the lines in her face besp[ea]k repression (193). Upon hearing the
news, her sorrow gushes out in a torrent: She wept at once with sudden, wild abandonment (193).
The narrator points out, however, that Mrs. Mallard is not struck, as many women have been, by a
paralyzed inability to accept the painful sense of loss (193). On

The Hedge fund industry is surrounded by much controversy and debate; and that for many years.
Lack of oversight, excessive returns, unclear impact on the market and more, are all subjects of

BP has several weaknesses. Currently they are holding a large percentage of liability. Some of
that liability is due to the Gulf oil spill and the other is tied in the uncertain and sure to fail
dealings to get a foothold in the Russian oil market. Additionally, the Gulf oil spill has marred
the reputation of BP to the United States, BP s largest customer. This has resulted in dwindling
sales and halts to new drilling within the US and its waters. BP also has had a track record for
cutting costs that have resulted in two other large accidental spills only five years ealier. In 2005,
a refinery in Texas caught fire and in 2006 a section of the Alaskan pipeline burst (Bryant, 2010).
These events showed neglect on the part of BP and lead to the record sized fine imposed on them.
In regards to opportunities, we see a progressive increase in the price of oil. Although there is an
obvious fluctuation in the price of oil from day to day, the overall trend is a defined increase in

The American Red Cross (ARC)
The American Red Cross (ARC) has long faced multiple ethical dilemmas associated with various
aspects of its operations. The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has been closely scrutinizing
the organization related to its blood donation services (Ferrell, Fraedrich, Ferrell, 2015). In
Canada, over 1,000 people; mostly hemophiliacs dependent on life saving blood clotting products,
have been infected by HIV tainted transfusions and more than 500 Canadian hemophiliacs have
subsequently died of AIDS as a result of contaminated blood from the Red Cross (Grace, 1995).
These accusations were related to mismanagement of screenings and blood collections as well as
failing to discard potentially unsafe donations. Many speculate that these issues arose... Show more

After the debacle with the blood, they development and implementation of standardized and more
uniform history questionnaires to help to ensure that they are maintaining the same standards
across all collection sites (Zou, Eder, Musavi, Notari IV, Fang, Dodd (2007). The changes that were
made to the Code of Business Ethics and Conduct in January of 2007 now requires that all
employees read and sign the two page document stating and acknowledging understanding of the
company s expectations. They also implemented a 24 hour anonymous call line where anyone
can call to voice concerns about the organization. They also published an Ethics Rules and
Policies statement that outlines the details about how business will be conducted regarding
business funds, property, allocation of time, addressing conflicts of interest, recordkeeping and
the handling of media inquiries (Ferrell, Fraedrich, Farrell, 2015). While those are all effective
tools to manage what has happened in the past, the ARC will also need to ensure that they are
not allowing anything to damage their reputation going forward. To do this, they will need to be
diligent in their hiring practices; ensuring that they are following the same policy and procedures
for each employee and that expectations are laid out regarding ethical behavior from the very
beginning of employment. They will need to, at least yearly, revisit ethical responsibility topics
with all employees to keep those skills fresh and on the forefront of everyone s mind. It will be
imperative for the company to continue to build itself back up from its previous failures and to
ensure that they have learned from their

Milky Way Compare And Contrast
In about 4 billion years, the Milky Way and Andromeda galaxies will collide. The two
neighbouring galaxies are located in a collection of other galaxies acknowledged as the local
group. This group contains more than 50 galaxies, with a majority of them being dwarf galaxies.
The largest and most massive of galaxies are the Milky Way, Andromeda, and the Triangulum
galaxy. All three of these have a gathering of satellite galaxies surrounding them. Just like how
planets orbit around the sun, these smaller galaxies contain billions of stars and orbit around the
galaxy s center. The satellite galaxies orbit these larger galaxies due to the great gravitational
attraction the larger galaxies emit.
The Milky Way galaxy has an assortment of approximately 30 satellite galaxies which include
Sagittarius Dwarf Galaxy, Large Magellanic Cloud, and Small Magellanic Cloud, just to name a
few. The Andromeda galaxy has about 15 satellite galaxies, and the Traingulum galaxy has the

The galaxy contains the Solar System, with more than 200 billion stars and at least 100 billion
planets. The name milky comes from the dim disk like appearance the galaxy has when
observed in the night sky. It is a barred spiral galaxy with four major arms and a diameter of 220
000 light years. The mass of the Milky Way is approximately more than 400 solar masses. The
center, Sagittarius A, is located about 26 000 light years from Earth and contains a supermassive
black hole. The other galaxy involved in the future collision is the Andromeda galaxy, or M31.
There are about 1 trillion stars and could possibly contain more dark matter than the Milky Way.
Its name comes from the constellation of Andromeda, which originated from the mythological
princes Andromeda. It is a spiral type galaxy with at least two spiral arms and a diameter of 260
000 light years. The mass of Andromeda is approximately 400 billion solar masses.

Sexually Transmitted Diseases Are Caused By A Wide Range...

Immunotherapeutic Strategies
Sexually transmitted diseases are caused by a wide range of viruses. The most common viruses are:
HIV 1, HSV 1/2, and HPV. Often the contraction of these viruses goes undiagnosed until the patient
has acquired severe symptoms, by this time they have also transferred the disease to another
individual. For this reason, the importance of developing and understanding immunotherapeutic
strategies has become essential for immunologists (5). There are many factors that contribute to
viral infection, therefore, targeting these virus specific factors is a key to preventing viral spread to
neighboring cells. Factors like viral attachment, entry, un coating, synthesis, assembly, and... Show

Cytokine therapy has been a crucial advance in the treatment of HIV because this disease is highly
affiliated with cytokine production. Cytokines are inserted in tumor cells as immune stimulatory
genes (5). Following insertion, the patient is injected with a cytokine based vaccine which is used
as a therapeutic measure for cancer prevention in patients that have HPV. Activation of cytokines
(IL 2, IL 12, GM CSF) have been theorized to inhibit the growth on tumors. HIV is linked to a
decline of the host s immune system response and decrease of CD4 T cells, therefore cytokine
therapy enables the production of these cells by treating patients with IL 2 (5). HPV has been
associated with cancer and there is no cure for HPV, however, there are preventative and therapeutic
medications (2,6). In the case of HPV vaccination, natural killer cells are activated which induce an
immune response. Immune modulators have suppressive and stimulatory effects on macrophages.
Stimulation allows for the secretion of cytokines which allows the immune system to produce
antibodies due to the high antigen presentation in dendritic cells.
Although these viruses often remain undetected, HSV typically causes a more visible and painful
reaction in the infected tissues. Shedding of the HSV virus is prominent when the symptoms occur
(1). HSV 2 in responsible for genital herpes and may be one of the most

Essay On How To Talk To Artists At Art Festivals
How to Talk to Artists at Art Festivals The Do s and Don ts (Warning: You ve probably been guilty
of at least one of the don ts...)
This article popped up in my newsfeed over the weekend and reminded me of the hundreds of
other What Not to Say to a (fill in the blank) lists on the Internet. The general tone of most of them
is snarky, but it s snark veiled as an informative piece to educate people about proper etiquette.
Here are a few examples if you re not familiar:
From the How to Talk to Artists at Art Festivals listof what not to ask:
How did you make that?
There is a fine line with this one, the author responds, as it s all about the context. Often, this
question is asked with the intention of, I ll go home and make one ... Show more content on
Helpwriting.net ...
Yes, I got it. Actually, wait. I ll probably forget by the time I get to the office and write something
you ll be embarrassed about. See. My list makes me sound like a jerk and the truth is those things
don t really bother me. It s part of the job. Shouldn t adults be able to handle people not being
Emily Post in every situation?
As for people not understanding me as a writer like people may not understand the plight of the
artist or bartender I typically assume this is the case. I assume people don t know how many
hours I spend at meetings or doing research to get one 600 word story, because why would they?
My suspicion is that these lists are like trade magazines and are read primarily by members of the
niche group (artist, adoptive parent, bartender) more than they are by the intended audience. But if
I m wrong, instead of keeping insensitive, obtuse comments at bay they create an atmosphere of
fear. Instead of saying something insensitive, which may very well have been unintentional, people
might decide not to communicate at all because they don t want to offend. The last thing I want,
especially as a journalist, is for people to be afraid to talk to me openly.
Don t get me wrong I love a good list (grocery lists, to do lists, playlists), and study after study
shows that the brain responds well to them. Umberto Eco told The Atlantic the list has an
irresistible magic and in cultural history has prevailed over and over again. Agreed.

  • 2. Postitive Influence of Rock Music Positive Influences of Rock Music Beneath misconceptions attached to rock music, lies the truth. In a recent unpublished survey, results showed that the majority of people, a mixture of different age groups and genre listeners, disagree that rock music has had any positive influences that outweigh the negative (Do). Through lack of analyzing, many judge rock music without ever knowing the truth about it. Those that do not understand the genre may blame it for everything that is wrong with today. Rock music is not to blame for the darkness in our society; instead, it leads us away from it. It has many positive influences that cannot be seen at a quick glance. Not only has rock affected individuals but society and time altogether. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Bands such as System of a Down are often charged with lyrics depicting their political views in the world they live in. Rage Against the Machine similarly expressed their views through rock music. They have been known to burn flags at their concerts, not to be malicious, but to make their audience aware of freedom of speech and self expression. Many have followed suit and become more involved with politics through bands like these, showing them that it is okay to be educated in the issues around them. Recently with a push from punk bands, many have taken initiative to vote and get educated in the 2004 elections. Punk rock bands joined together to start a website to further influence and educate their audience called PunkVoter.com. Although they were biased and stated so, their main goal was also made clear. • 3. Exploring the Current day Impact of the Canadian Indian... When someone speaks of great inequalities and human rights violations, very seldom is Canada as a nation (in a broader sense,) conjured together with these thoughts. However, in reality probably some of the greatest human right violations within our time and even within the late modern period, and most concerning examples of them, can be found through looking back into Canadian history. For many this may be a surprise to hear, however for others, specifically the native population of Canada, we can assume this is well understood. Commonly known today as Indian residential schools, a great act of wrong was committed under the command and leadership of the Canadian government starting back with elementary roots through the passage of the... Corporal punishment and cruelties were seen when such things as previously discussed, like practice of cultural and usage of native language, were practiced by native children in these residential schools. Lack of basic life necessities in these residential schools also resulted in disturbing mortality rates. Several doctors commissioned to inspect and report on health standings of children in residential school, found results that would bring horror in relation to current world standards. One doctor by the name of Dr. Bryce, found that in Western Canadian residential schools between 1894 1908, throughout a five year period thirty to sixty percent of a class would die (Bryce, 1922). These findings and others were published in Dr. Bryce s book, The Story of a National Crime: Being a Record of the Health Conditions of the Indians of Canada from 1904 to 1921. In total it is estimated over 3000 children died from disease and lack of basic necessities during the time of government run Indian residential schools in Canada from 1884 to the final closing in 1996 (The Canadian Press, 2013). Mortality rates demonstrate well the scale and cruelty of the human right violations that occurred in these residential schools, but only begins to touch the surface of other atrocities such as previously mentioned. • 4. Calculate The Kinetic Energy And Energy Of An Object... Calculating Energy Introduction: The objective of this lab was to calculate the kinetic energy and potential energy of an object through experimenting with a car and measuring its velocity when passing through photogates while carrying a certain amount of weights. In order to find kinetic and potential energy, we applied the concepts of velocity and speed that we learned previously. This lab showed us the application of the concepts we learned in class and how potential energy is converted into kinetic energy, and vice versa. Theory: write more! The principle used in this lab was that energy is conserved. The total energy is distributed as either kinetic energy or potential energy. Kinetic energy is caused due to motion and potential energy is caused due to gravity. We used the following formulas to calculate kinetic and potential energy, and percent difference: P.E. = mgh, K.E. = 1/2(M+m)v^2, and % difference=|PE KE|/KE*100%. Experiment: The materials used in this lab were an air track, a beam balance, a car, a meter stick, a meter stick, pulley system, and weights. In the first portion of the lab, we measured the potential energy. My group and I did this by measuring the height (100 cm) from the ground to the pulley and multiplied that by the mass of the. After gathering the results for the potential energy which was surprisingly easy to do, we moved on to the second portion of the lab, assembling data for the kinetic energy. We started by weighing the car, which came out ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Which react with the cross linked species to form the char layer. Borated species work the same way, they form a glassy surface that helps protect and insulate the substrate. The final pathway that will be investigated is the suppression of radical species in the reaction space. This is done by introducing halogenated hydrocarbons and an inorganic enhancer into the polymer. When the polymer burns, halogen radicals are released into the gas phase. The halogen reacts with hydrogen, to form a hydrogen halide. Finally, this species reacts with either hydrogen or oxygen radical to form hydrogen gas or water vapor, respectfully. From this series of reactions the halogen radical is regenerated, where it reacts with either the polymer substrate or more gaseous hydrogen to form hydrogen halide. The halogen radicals are at a lower energy than either the hydrogen or oxygen radical species. The effectiveness of this method is dependent on the halogen used. How does Don Quixote become a knight? Was it free will or fate? Some may say that the Odyssey is completely fate based and Don Quixote is entirely based on free will, but the two hold more similarities than you may realize. Homer, the writer of The Odyssey, focuses mainly on the god s influence of Odysseus s travels home. Miguel De Cervantes, writer of Don Quixote, uses Quixote s imagination and decisions to motivate travel. Although they bear some minor similarities, the differences between The Odyssey and Don Quixote are pronounced. Before discussing the similarities I would like to go over the differences between the two. In the Odyssey, the gods are responsible for controlling almost the entire story. They are the reason he gets captured and held for eight years. They are the cause of the storm that nearly drags Odysseus out to sea. They play a very important role in this poem. Don Quixote is written much differently than The Odyssey. Don Quixote has much more freedom to choose what happens in his life. He decides to become a knight and travel all over. He set off on a journey to help other and to earn his knighthood. He does this at his own free will, something that Odysseus did not have. Mired in Newtonian causality, Voltaire (echoing John Locke) believed that action is the effect of which the will is the cause. The cause of the will is the effect of environment. The environment is part of the clockwork universe made and wound by God.7[7] While this theory brings environment into the discussion of development of personality, it makes people into passive receptacles and cogs in machines.8[8] Voltaire s belief in God was partly pragmatic. The latter is used as a leading indicator for the former, to improve on the forecast obtained by the univariate model. Both variables are collected over a time range from January 1985 until and including December 1997, whereas the last year is not used for constructing the optimal forecast, obtained by fitting a model through the data until the end of 1996. This will enable us to forecast the year 1997 using our model, and then comparing it to the actual data. Assuming no large one time shock, meaning that it is not captured by seasonality or cyclical behaviour in the data, occurs in this year, a graphical comparison of our forecast and the whole data... In SPH system, first plot on the left showed the interaction of persulfate and heat amount, it was obvious that any increment was beneficial to the better sugar yield. At 80 В°C, the glucose yield increased from 10% to 18%, while the persulfate concentration increased from 0.6 M to 1.1 M for 60 min. The same pattern was observed for the interaction of persulfate content with time and temperature with time. It suggests increasing the time of reaction will increase the potential of SPH system for wheat straw pretreatment. The FTIR spectra of control and radical pretreated samples (in each method two FTIR spectra were analyzed for the runs with highest and lowest sugar yield) are revealed in Fig. 5 7. Apparently it yields indiscriminate tolerance, which is encapsulated in the campus adage I m okay, you re okay , but in reality its followers are intolerant to anything that opposes their worldview. If you probe deeper, it is interesting how the ultimate essence of liberalism, like that of idol worship, is denial of the unity of the world, hence unqualified pluralism. As the titular character Cleo in Agnes Varnas Cleo a 5 de 7 rejects her role as an object of the public gaze, and Noriko of Yasujiro Ozu s Late Springgrapples with her fate to play the part of a traditional Japanese housewife, both directors explore this common concept of finding one s identity in an unkind world through the use of such themes as routines, charades and emptiness. Routines are a brief, but necessary element to both films; they establish their leading characters as seeking security in repetition of societal norms, and serve to highlight the director s signature style of camerawork in each film. For example, in reference to the title of Agnes Varda s film, Cleo expects to receive her lover at 5 p.m., repeating a behavioral convention encouraged by French society to meet one s lover at this time. She dons her wig and fluffy coat, lies on her bed in wait of her attractive but patronizing lover, and plays along with his shallow display of affection when he comes and goes as, it is implied, she has done several times before. Martin and her assistants interviewed 165 African American and white women, regarding three stages of life starting with the earliest in woman s life being puberty, then childbearing, and final stages of reproduction cessation being menopause. 57% of the interviewees were middle class, and 43% of her interviewees were women from the working class. One of the dangers Martin found studying women in American society, was women talking about and reading medical text that described uterine contractions during childbirth as separate, as though contractions were outside of themselves and labor is something women actively go through. Reading descriptions in medical texts, Martin wondered how male oriented views from textbooks matched so cohesively with those of the interviewees. Mrs. Mallard s sister, Josephine, mindful of Mrs. Mallard s heart condition, breaks the news to her in broken sentences and veiled hints (193). But when Mrs. Mallard hears the shocking news, she undergoes a profound transformation that empowers her with a clear and exalted perception (194). As Chopin demonstrates, this heightened consciousness comes to the protagonist because of her awakened emotions. Revealing her own dynamic and avant garde understanding, Chopin rejects the tradition of attributing supremacy to the faculty of reason in the act of perception, and she attributes it instead to the faculty of emotions. When she hears the news of her husband s death, Mrs. Mallard s obliviousness to the beauty of life breaks down under the powerful impact of emotion. Until this moment, Mrs. Mallard hardly thinks it worthwhile to continue her existence; as the narrator of the story says, It was only yesterday [Mrs. Mallard] had thought with a shudder that life might be long (194). Her life until this point seems devoid of emotion, as the lines in her face besp[ea]k repression (193). Upon hearing the news, her sorrow gushes out in a torrent: She wept at once with sudden, wild abandonment (193). For this reason, the importance of developing and understanding immunotherapeutic strategies has become essential for immunologists (5). Activation of cytokines (IL 2, IL 12, GM CSF) have been theorized to inhibit the growth on tumors. HIV is linked to a decline of the host s immune system response and decrease of CD4 T cells, therefore cytokine therapy enables the production of these cells by treating patients with IL 2 (5).
