Fashion Store s Window Factor That Increase Female...
INTRODUCTION
Due to today s competition and similarity of products in the fashion industry, companies use visual
merchandising to differentiate their brands (Lanjewar, 2014). Number of studies showed that window
displays do increase customers interest towards all displayed products (Yildirim, Baskaya
Hidayetoglu, 2007; Gudonaviciene Alijosiene, 2015). Window display play the most important factor
that attract customers to come in the store (Hefer Cant, 2013). Several elements should be considered
when designing a window display. Those elements are; colour, lighting, signage, and mannequins. The
purpose of storefront display is to create an excitement shopping experience and to enhance the store
value. That s why, more research needs ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Retailer spend excessive investment into the storefront surroundings developed by specialized
designers (Yildirim et al, 2007). They are an essential part of a shopper s surrounding during a female
shopping experience and therefore have an impact on buying behavior in retail framework. There are
two main principles that window displays should serve: it must identify the store image and products,
and to motivate customers to have positive shopping attitudes. Apart from window displays,
promotional signage of merchandise may encourage consumers to get into the store. This study will
analyze customer s behavior among promotional signage.
RESEARCH QUESTION: How does window display promotional signage increase female interest
towards displayed products?
THE LIMITATION OR GAPS IN EXISTING LITERATURE:
Since most of the study analyzed how window displays have significant impact on customers buying
behavior. This qualitative research will help merchandisers in progressing effective ways to promote
women purchasing attitude. Even though, the previous researchers studied how window displays has
an effect on female consumers, but there are no significant studies have examined the impact of show
windows promotional signage on female shopping routine.
THE SIGNIFICANCE:
Jain et al., (2014), state that A key goal of a show window is to generate excitement among window
shoppers and convert them into actual shoppers (p.2). Therefore, this study will help marketing

Analysis Of The Lynching Of Emmett Till
The documentary, narrative The Lynching of Emmett Till by Christopher Metress, tells Emmett s story
of death through various points of view. On August 24, 1955, Emmett Till, a fourteen year old African
American boy from Chicago, entered a rural grocery store of Money, Mississippi. Because the young
child had been gloating about his bond with white people up north, his southern cousins had dared him
to go into the store and say something to the women working the register. Emmett accepted their
challenge; seconds later he was at the counter, set on purchasing two items. What he did or said next
will never be known for sure, but whatever passed between these two strangers from two different
worlds set off a chain reaction that would forever ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Additionally, the subject of this novel is stated through various viewpoints of information and is
understood by all audiences. In addition, the mood of the story is mysterious, unsettling, and chilling.
In particular, when the author describes the murder of Emmett that is enough visualization to send
chills down the reader s spine. Also, the tone of the author throughout the novel is solemn and gloomy.
Lastly, not only is the novel informant: it s also educational at the same time.
In conclusion, Emmett Till was a young boy who was born in a time that was rough for African
Americans. Also, Christopher Metress is a published author and college professor whose ideas are
linked with readers, worldwide. Sixty years later, at a time when race relations are once more at the
front of the American mind, Till s name is still adducing as a reminder of the worst consequences of
ignoring the problem. Accidentally, his story has inspired a regeneration of historians and scholars.
Everyone has the right to have happiness in life and should not be oppressed by discrimination.
In the year 1955, white men in the Mississippi Delta lynched a fourteen year old from Chicago named
Emmett Till. His murder was part of a massive wave of white terrorism in the wake of the 1954
Supreme Court decision that declared public school segregation unconstitutional. Five years later,
Black students launched sit in campaigns that turned the struggle for civil rights into a

To My Dear And Loving Husband By Anne Bradstreet
In, To My Dear and Loving Husband, by Anne Bradstreet, we see that this poem is about a woman
that loves her husband. Love conquers all right? The overall tone of this work comes off as love.
Bradstreet shares many ways of her love with us and she wants us to know that her love is going to be
as strong when they are no more living on this earth. Anne Bradstreet expresses to the audience her
love for her husband in different tones. Throughout the poem, we see that Bradstreet is comparing her
love to water, and gold; but in the end is that enough? The tone of each excerpt affects the whole
message being given in, To My Dear and Loving Husband. Anne loves God, but she also loves her
husband. On line ten she says, The heavens reward thee manifold, ... Show more content on

We see all of these throughout the poem. The passion is shown when she is comparing their love to
gold. I prize thy love more than whole mines of gold, or all the riches that the East doth hold (226).
She thinks her love for her husband is worth more then all of the rivers, creeks, lakes, and gold in the
whole world. Their love could not fill oceans. Also in, If ever two were one, then surely we (226). She
needs his love and she can not live without it. The writer thinks they could be one. It is interesting that
a Puritan would write such a love poem. Puritans are supposing to have a relationship with God. I am
surprised that she is writing something with so much emotion in it. On line nine she states, Thy love is
such I can no way repay (226). She means that the love that her husband gives her is passionate and
emotional, that there is no way that she could ever repay him. She wants to share how great her and
her husbands chemistry is and that is endearing, because it is inspiring love. Another tone would be
from Nor ought but love from thee, give recompense, (226) she is adoring of her husband. The last
two lines of this poem expresses her endearing love. Then while we live, in love let s so persevere,
that when we live no more, we may live ever (226). If ever man were loved by wife, then thee

What Is A Memorable Moment Essay
Memorable Moment Let us go, please. I yelled.
Ok where do you want to go? Mom asked.
To the Lake, so pack. I said
My mom, my sister Hailey ,and packed. I packed the cooler for the drinks and food. While I opened
the freezer, I saw all of the frost on the ice container and I saw fog come out of the freezer. As my face
got cooled I tried to get the ice container I put both arms in the freezer and reached and reached. As I
kept on reaching I felt all of the cold air go on my arms all the way down my legs. As I finally picked
up the large white, plastic, ice container I felt all of the frost on the box now on my hands. As I set the
container full of ice on the island. Then I finally lifted up the ice container and dumped the ice in the
cooler I put the container in the freezer. As my mom told me to watch Hailey while she goes to get
soda. I told Hailey to pack whatever she wants to pack. As Hailey was packing I was sitting there
listening to music on my phone. When I heard my mom pull in into the driveway and into the garage I
took of my headphones and packed the cooler into the enormous trunk. While my sister was getting
buckled into her carseat I got hers stuff and put it in the trunk. My mom and I got buckled and mom
pulled out of the garage and we were on the road in no time, but before we went to the lake we
stopped at Sara s Ice Cream Shop. I got a large root beer float while my mom got an Icecream cone
and so did my sister. 30 minutes later we have arrived at the lake.
As I stepped out of the car I could feel the blazing hot concrete. I ran to the cool relaxing water. My
mom took out the towels and the cooler out of the car and set our spot up on the smooth, dry, and
crunchy sand. As my 2 year old sister got her princess floaties on I saw a 10 foot cliff jump spot. As I
walked up the steep, slippery, and light green mossy rocks. As I got to the top I got nervous, at that
very moment somebody did a belly flop. While they did the belly flop I saw some pebbles fall of the
10 foot cliff. As I stepped up to the edge of the 10 foot it looked like a 15 foot cliff. As I jumped of the
cliff I did a cannonball, as I was doing a cannonball I felt all of the air blowing in my face, I opened

Al Gore Famously Stated On The Threat Of Climate Change
Al Gore famously stated on the threat of climate change The good news is, we have everything we
need now to respond to the challenge of global warming. . . . But we should not wait, we cannot wait,
we must not wait. In the early 2000s, the international community was uncertain on how best to
address climate change and ensure the world s increasing development was sustainable. In 2008, the
World Bank launched the Strategic Framework for Development and Climate change to jump start
public and private sector action against climate change. Included in these proposals was the issuance
of Green Bonds , an innovative method of encouraging investment in environmental and sustainable
development projects across the globe. Green bonds have ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In response, the private sector crafted voluntary regulations for issuers known as the Green Bond
Principles.
Part III of this Comment will analyze the liabilities of voluntary prescription in the industry. Due to
the lack of a definitive verification process, American municipal bonds are particularly vulnerable to
investment in unhelpful green projects. New laws and regulations may turn off some investors hoping
to cash in on the tax exempt investment grade bonds. Both issuers and recipients of the bonds will
need to decide whether they care more about making green or being green. Part III of this Comment
will also outline how investors in green bonds can use class action lawsuits to sue issuers who mislead
them or greenwash their projects for non sustainable purposes.
Part IV of this Comment will recommend definitive solutions for the green bond industry. First, the
Securities Exchange Commission Securities and Exchange Commission ( SEC ) and the
Environmental Protection Agency ( EPA ) through cooperative action should issue a conclusive
definition of what a green project is. Secondly, this Comment will recommend the Municipal
Securities Rulemaking Board ( MSRB ) increase their disclosure laws for municipal issuers of green
bonds. Lastly, allowing class action

Persuasive Essay On Changing The Date Of Australia Day
Nearly every country features a special day where they celebrate their nation as an entire country and
the 26th of January is the day that we Australians celebrate Australia day. We have been doing this for
the past more than 200 years. Changing the date of Australia day has been a debate brought up every
year in January. In a recent poll, the results show that most Australians don t care what date Australia
day is held on as long as there is still a day where us Australians celebrate together as a whole. So,
why do people feel the urge to change this date? There are many reasons why Australia day should be
changed to a day that represents Australia more.
The 26th of January is the day of the first fleet, but it was too the day that the intrusion begun. This
day is seen by a few individuals as the day of mourning . This is because this day is when the first
nation people had lost their land, alongside being persecuted by the settlers and numerous other issues
that go with it. Plus, 26th January truly implies nothing to Australia as an entirety. They are not really
celebrating the events that occurred on that day, it is what happened ... Show more content on

However, is the 26th January really the first day foreigners have ever set foot on this island? No, in
fact, a whole week in advance, some men landed on the Sydney s Botany cove but afterwards found it
not comfortable for them to settle, hence, they then migrated to another little cove which is presently
known as the Sydney Harbour. Since it wasn t indeed the exact day that the British landed on
Australia, then why celebrate it on this day? We think that this day should be changed because there is
no reason why we should keep it on this day if it has no specific reason to stay and doesn t represent
anything we would be proud

Edgar Allen Poe s The Pit And The Pendulum
The unit question asks whether or not the hero of Edgar Allen Poe s The Pit and the Pendulum would
realistically be able to escape the descending blade swinging on a pendulum. The question is a matter
of time, is it feasible for the protagonist to escape the pendulum with the allotted amount of time.
Based on standard deviation and testing a pendulum of the same scale as the one mentioned in the
story, the answer is no. The protagonist mentions that he believed 10 12 periods of the pendulum
would result in the blade coming in contact with his torso. Using the formula developed in class for
the period of a pendulum, it would take the 30 foot pendulum described in the story about 72 seconds
to complete 12 periods. Testing the actual 30 foot yielded similar results within 1 2 seconds of 72
seconds. Therefore, it is fair to say that the hero is working with 72 seconds to free himself. This does
not seem like enough time to develop an escape strategy, act on the strategy, and leave without getting
hit bit the pendulum. The method the hero describes involves thinking about the situation and then
employing the help of nearby rats. He also mentions, Yet one minute, and I felt that the struggle would
be over, as if to imply he had 1 minute to spare. Since he was reflecting and then enticing the rats to
gnaw through the rope it is not likely that it took only 12 seconds to escape. 72 seconds does not seem
like enough time for the hero to complete his escape. However, the thickness of the rope and speed of
the rats are factors that could affect the outcome.
Standard deviation is a way of visualizing how spread out points of data are in a set. Using standard
deviation helps to determine how rare or common an occurrence is. For example, data points falling
within the boundaries of one standard deviation typically account for about 68% of data and those
between (+/ )1 standard deviation and (+/ )2 standard deviations make about 27% combined. This can
be better visualized by using a bell graph. Using the mean and standard deviation, the points where
standard deviations occur can be drawn on the graph to better understand which data is rare and which
is common.
Standard deviation was used to help solve the unit

Who could imagine we admitted the wrong person , said a nurse wearing just the same surgical mask.
She locked up the doors once more and left before I could even move to reach the handle.
I was alone for the day, slumbering most of the time and the remnant was solely having multiple
thoughts crossing my mind, about my encounter with complete grace, Wondering about her name.
No matter who she is, she would as yet be a flawless flower, one of a kind. This was the sort of

What Is The Secret Of Prosperity
The Secret Of Prosperity The Secret of Prosperity is a very simple one. It is so simple that the people
do not realize it. Many people do a lot of work throughout the day and do not find blessings in their
work. Some people find that whatever they touch prospers. The secret is given by the psalmist in
Psalm 1: 1 3. Blessed is the man whose delight is in the Law of the Lord and in His law he meditates
day and night. It is not possible to read the Bible day and night all the time. But meditating in the Law
of the Lord means that he should compare his thoughts, words and deeds with the Law and
commandments of the Lord always. He shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water which brings
forth its fruit in its season. His leaf also shall not wither. People expect the fruit of the blessings of
God the moment they decide for the Lord. But there is a season for bringing forth the fruit. And above

St. Augustine Free Will Analysis
It s Your Choice
St. Augustine answered a question, which was, why did God give freedom of the will to men since it
is by this that men sin? His answer was, basically maybe God did not really give us freewill for us to
sin, but something bigger, such as reward and punishment. We chose to do good or bad knowing that
rewards and punishments comes from either one. God did not give freewill, but this is something that
just had to come about for being a human being is what I grasp to understand from St. Augustine. I
agree with St. Augustine because even though we may have come from God, it is still a choice to do
good or bad. Evodius was saying what if God had not made it where we could chose to sin, what he
failed to understand is that we would still have to choose to do good, even if that is the only choice. In
this paper I will give supporting facts on how St. Augustine answered the question and understanding
on how I agree with what he said. In Introducing Philosophy St. Augustine said, I want to ask, as well:
do you know this clearly, or do you believe it willingly without really knowing it, because you ae
prompted by authority. (Page 436 Solomon). This quote I believe help me defend why St. Augustine
had a justified point, because Evodius exulting his right of freewill, when he was saying that freewill

Big Data Is Not Without Its Own Problems
Abstract
Five years ago, few people had heard the phrase Big Data. Today, it s hard to go an hour without
seeing it implemented practically in our daily life. The promise of a highly accurate data driven
decision making tool is an attractive lure for any organization in any industry. However, big data is not
without its own problems.
Through this paper, we will attempt to understand what constitutes Big Data . We will explore some of
its sources and discuss some of the barriers faced by organizations looking to benefit from this
phenomenon. We will also examine the various management tools and statistical techniques that can
be used to extract information from big data.

It also refers to the range and variety from where the data is coming from, and the velocity with which
it is being produced. Equally important, is to understand the evolving nature of big data and big data
problems. What was considered a large data set 10 years ago is different from what we are being
challenged with today or what we shall be faced with tomorrow.
Big data is sprouting up everywhere and using it appropriately will drive competitive advantage.
Ignoring it will simply put an organization at risk, and cause it to fall behind its competition.
2. Sources Of Big Data
According to the Chief Futurist for Cisco Systems, Dave Evans, there are over 35 billion Internet
enabled devices in the world today. source The Internet of Things is almost as common a buzzword as
big data itself. Computers, mobile devices, coffee makers, washing machines, headphones, lamps, and
wearable devices are all capable of producing data. This includes website tracking information,
application logs, and sensor data such as check ins and other location tracking among other machine
generated content. We should also consider the data generated by the processors found within
vehicles, video games and cable boxes. A few other contributing sources of big data are:
2.1 Web Data. Being able to track what sites a user visits, what data he consumes, how he gets there,
how long he spends on each item of content all this is a virtual treasure trove of big data. Being able

Heat does to matter is changes it state. There is something more subtle though that can cause big

bar of metal. The ball expands less so when they are heated the ball fits through the ring. You may
want to look for these and try this demo as many of you probably have these.

What Happened: The water level was slightly below full. As the water cooled, it contracted causing
the water level to drop. However, there may also be another effect here as well. If you used water with
a lot of bubbles, those bubbles also took up a part of the volume inside the bottles. As the bubbles
eventually floated to the top, they would have decreased the volume slightly. Can you think of some
way to insure that what you are seeing is not a result of the bubbles?
A Major Exception to the Rule
The general rule that has already been stated is that matter expands when heated and contracts when
cooled, but there are a few exceptions. The most important exception is water when it freezes.
Procedure: Fill the bottle to the top with water and replace the cap. Wrap the bottle in several layers of
newspaper and place the bottle and paper in the bag. Put the bag in the freezer and leave it there until
the water freezes.
Remove the bag and paper and examine the bottle. What do you see?
What Happened: The bottle was shattered or very swollen. When water is cooled, whether as a gas
(water vapor), a liquid, or a solid, it will contract. The one major exception to this is when water
reaches the freezing point and changes from liquid water to ice. At that point, the water expands,
rather than contracts. This expansion caused the bottle to break.
The reason water behaves this way has to do with the shape of it s

Free Market Economy Essay
A free market is a type of market that the government is not involved in. Since the government does
not care about what happens, the free market is also called hands off or let it be economics . The
government is limited to protect the citizens from the danger and that is the major goal for the
government. In the free market economy, there are three components of the free market economy:
competition, active but limited government, and the self interest. Competition is one of the main
components of the free market economy. Competition means that the companies compete with one
another to make more benefits to themselves. According to the concept of the free market economy,

The government does not necessarily need to intervene how the marker goes. Therefore, the
competition is a significant factor of the free marker economy.Active but limited government is
another main part of the free market economy. This means that the government undertakes a
significant, active role in the market, but at the same time the government s role is ver limited because
all the investments and decisions in the economy are controlled by the market than by the government.
An invisible hand will control the market. Limited government is a type of government in which there
is a minimum intervention in personal properties. Overall, the government tries to keep the economy
in a law and let it free by limiting itself. Hence, the limited government is an essential factor of the
free market economy.Last, self interest is a significant part of the free market economy. Self interest
refers to one s desire to buy something. The market will be generally controlled by people s interest;
the companies will compete with one another to fit the best taste. This is because the people s interest

Lost Forests and Their Impact
Lost Forests and Their Impact
An estimated 18 million acres of forest, roughly the size of Panama, are cut down each year for human
usage. Deforestation is the removal of forests or trees from an area on a massive scale. Since the dawn
of human civilization, clearing up vast areas of forested land solely to serve human interests has been
a necessary environmental evil. Most existing nations, cities, villages etc. were built on deforested
land. Interestingly, in current times the rate of deforestation has continued to increase in many areas
like the Amazon rainforest, Indonesian forests, and the North American West. It has been estimated
that the world s supple of rain forests could cease to exist within a hundred years at the current rate of
deforestation. Historically, some of the primary motives behind this devastating occurrence include:
the need for areas to establish human dwellings and/or farmlands (e.g. pastures for livestock), the need
for wood and non wood based products and the use of wood as a fuel source. Although, deforested
areas and their byproducts provide many relatively short term conveniences for humans, the long term
costs far outweigh the benefits. In this paper, some of the long term dire consequences of intentionally
deforesting lands for commercial and noncommercial purposes are highlighted.
Forests are the environmental scaffoldings of the world, for without them we would not be here.
Plants were one of the first few life forms to survive on land

Conceited Judgment and the Pitfall of Pride
In both of Flannery O Connor s short stories A Good Man is Hard to Find and Good Country People,
there is a central theme about the negative effects of trusting one s own judgment too readily, as well
as using religion to manipulate people. It is easy to see multiple connections to this theme in the two
short stories, although the specific events themselves are different. For instance, Hulga from Good
Country People believes her intelligence allows her to see people s true character, but she is ultimately
left alone full of despair when her faith in herself and her leg is ironically taken away. In the same
way, the unnamed grandmother in A Good Man is Hard to Find feels her morals and experience in life
allow her to judge other characters without fault. Therefore, the two short stories are similar to each
other because the plots, characters, and misuses of religion reflect the central theme of trust and
manipulation. Although the details of these two stories differ in many aspects, they share a similar plot
that follows a theme about people trusting their own judgments too easily. In Good Country People,
Hulga meets a Bible salesman, Manly Pointer, who seems to have an innocent aura around him. He
bored Mrs. Hopewell, Hulga s mother, but she couldn t be rude to him. He was just good country
people, you know (Good Country 445). However, her personal view of him is tragically incorrect.
Pointer persuades Hulga to go on a date with him, inviting Hulga out

Cultural competence can change personal perceptions and...
Cultural competence can change personal perceptions and attitudes According to the NASW (2008),
practitioners need to look beyond cultural variations, historic oppression and discrimination. They
need to look outside of ethnicity, race, age, gender, ability, and sexual identity while being aware of
sensitivity to cultural norms. Most of all, the NASW (2008), places the responsibility on the
practitioner for self awareness of their own biases. Furthermore, practitioners must have the skills to
work effectively with individuals different from one s self (NASW, 2008). Beck, Scheel, De Oliveira,
and Hopp, (2013) realized that there was a lack of cultural competence in the university s curriculum.

Corporation is one that has been imitated and duplicated by many other organizations. When Kilchiro
Toyoda invented the company he understood that the success of the organization would ultimately be

Utilitarian Logic in Hard Times Essay
Utilitarian Logic in Hard Times
Utilitarianism Quadruped. Graminivorous. Forty teeth, namely twenty four grinders, four eye teeth,
and twelve incisive. Sheds coat in spring...... A perfect example of a product of utilitarian education,
Bitzer defines a horse off the top of his head in a split second. Utilitarianism is the assumption that
human beings act in a way that highlights their own self interest. It is based on factuality and leaves
little room for imagination. Dickens provides three vivid examples of this utilitarian logic in Hard
Times.
The first; Mr. Thomas Gradgrind, one of the main characters in the book, was the principal of a school
in Coketown. He was a firm believer in utilitarianism and instilled this ... Show more content on

How can you give a utilitarian man such as Gradgrind such power over a town? I do like how Dickens
structures the book to make one ask obvious questions such as these. Dickens does not tell us much
about the success of the other students of the school besides Bitzer, who is fairly successful on paper,
but does not have the capacity as a person to deal with life s everyday struggles.
Gradgrinds two oldest children, Tom and Louisa, are examples of how this utilitarian method failed
miserably. These children were never given the opportunity to think for themselves, experience fun
things in life, or even use their imaginations. True, they are smart people in the factual sense but do
not have the street smarts to survive. Tom is a young man who, so fed up with his father s strictness
and repetition, revolts against him and leaves home to work in Mr. Bounderby s bank. Tom, now out
from under his fathers wing, he begins to drink and gamble heavily. Eventually, to get out of a deep
gambling debt, he robs a bank and is forced to flee the area. When Bitzer realizes that Tom has robbed
the bank and catches him, Mr. Gradgrind begs him to let Tom go, reminding him of all of the hard
work that was put on him while at the school. Ironically Bitzer, using the tools of factuality that he had
learned in Gradgrinds school, replies that the school was paid for, but it is now over and he owes
nothing more. I think this is extremely funny how,

History Of Baroque And Baroque
The following period of Baroque and Rococo become popular in Italy, France, and Northern Europe.
In Baroque we see social, economic, and political change such as the church losing political/religious
power and monarchs gaining power. New styles, forms, and patrons are developed such as the Bernini
s Plaza. The Bernini s Plaza has a gathering group of sorts, where we have a rhombus and a circle
pieta that welcomes and invites people which is described as mother church reaching out and grabbing
the faithful. If we look into Bernini s cathedral we see can see Baldachinno or little canopy which is
over the relics of St. Peter (protects and marks spot of where the relic is kept. The little canopy is used
to overwhelm the senses and to bring the viewer s attention in. The Baldachinno columns are twisty
and are heavily decorated with bronze to show how dramatic and decorative it was to catch viewer s
attention. The throne of St. Peter was very popular and was also a place where the pope would sit on
during special occasions. St. Peter s throne emphasized a heavenly connection. There was also a
window that would let light in, and above the window were bronze rods that would reflect light which
would have made the window very bright and beautiful on a heavenly level to show the importance of
St. Peters throne and how important it was. Baroque in Italy was more focused on the drapery and in
which direction the wind was blowing to make the drapery look like it was alive or real (tried

Loyalty In The Odyssey Analysis
Odysseus in the epic poetry The Odyssey, written by Homer, is trying to make his way home after the
long and treacherous Trojan War, which he fought in. Odysseus throughout the book has gotten
himself into many tricky situations, however Athena, the goddess of wisdom and military victory, has
been beside him and aiding him through his journey home. Loyalty is an aspect of life, which Athena
portrays throughout the entire epic poetry. Athena throughout the epic poem, The Odyssey, has shown
her loyalty to Odysseus and his family in his journey to return home. In the beginning of the epic
poem, the hopeful words of Athena encouraged Telémakhos to gain intel on Odysseus s whereabouts.
Athena who is disguised as MentĂȘs is bringing hope into TelĂ©makhos about his father when she says,
He will not, now, be long away from Ithaka, his father s dear land; though he be in chains he ll scheme
a way to come; he can do anything. (page 7 8, lines 247 249) Athena says this so that Telémakhos will
not feel that his father has abandoned him, and that he will come home soon to fix the mess at home.
She is trying to make Telémakhos believe that his father will come home soon to see his son that he
had wanted to see for years. Telémakhos in this part of the text says, Friend, you have done me
kindness, like a father to his son, and I shall never forget you counsel ever. (pg 11, line 355 357)

Coming Of Age In The Igbo Culture
Coming of age is very important. It is when you prove that you can take care of yourself and when
you set off on your own and become independent. Also, it is when you begin a new life, one where
you can make your own decisions. This is very important in the Igbo culture. When the child turns of
age to become an adult, it is not that different than western societies. The only difference is that in the
Igbo culture, children have to prove that they are adults. After proving yourself to be an adult, the final
entrance into adulthood is the coming of age ceremony. The coming of age ceremony starts with
people standing around the child. Then, according to B.A. Robinson someone from the group would
presents the child by saying, Creator of All in this sacred place, we present to you (the child s legal
name). We ask for Your Presence and Blessings for this ceremony celebrating her transition from child
to young adulthood (www.religioustolerance.org/wicpuber.htm). Then, the child lights the candle that
symbolizes childhood. Next, the mother asks of the child some thing along the lines of If he or she
answers affirmatively to all that is asked of him/her then he/she lights the candle that symbolizes
adulthood. The person then is given water which has rose petals ... Show more content on

The Machiavelli s Political Philosophy
Revisiting Machiavelli s Political Philosophy Precede It is fundamentally important to preface the
discussion hosted in this essay by addressing ourselves to the most mundane question why consider
Machiavelli in the context of philosophy, least of all, political philosophy? This question dominates
any philosophical inquiries of the Machiavelli s political ideologies. Put differently, do the
contributions by NiccolĂČ Machiavelli to the various salient discourses in the Western thought, most
notably political theory, meet the requisite standard models of academic philosophy? Machiavelli
essentially seems not to consider himself a philosopher. In fact, he overtly disapproved of any
philosophical inquiries into his works. In addition, his credentials do not qualify him to be properly
admitted within the realm of philosophy (NeDermAN, 2002).
However, that said, some of his ideas continue to attract philosophical engagements even by the so
called first rank philosophers. This qualifies the incorporation of some of his ideologies into any
comprehensive philosophical survey. This paper therefore zeros in on his political ideals that have
culminated into what is known as Machiavelli s political philosophy of Machiavellism (Meinecke,
1965). The paper seeks to explore his political ideologies in general. Further, the paper seeks to
establish based on any real evidence whether Machiavelli is indeed a break in the political philosophy
or otherwise. In keeping with the latter

Home Descriptive Essay
My definition for home indescribable by words or by a simple thought, but home is rather of a feeling.
Home is the calmness and serenity that settles over me like a blanket on a cold snowy night, just a
silent assurance telling me I belong there. It took me quite a bit of time to understand where exactly
that place is, and I didn t know that the answer was always right in front of me. This feeling would
come and go, and I would never recognize it because I knew that only the house I lived in was my
home. Home is in fact more than what the words in the dictionary say.
When I was younger, I lived in the Philippines, my backyard were the rice fields and I would always
play hide and seek with all my friends behind the trees. But there was one tree I can never forget it
was a big guayacan tree that grew on a little hill. It was a very old tree and I loved how it blossomed
yellow flowers. Whenever the wind blew, its beautiful golden petals fell as if they were snow. I would
always run as fast as I could before the last petal falls, I loved being covered with them. I loved it so
much that I would sometimes even fall asleep feeling the yellow blanket under the warmth of sunshine
beneath the peaceful skies. I dreamt of climbing the tree all the way up the skies, reaching for the
clouds. Naive and carefree; my childhood this was my home.
When it was time for harvest, I would always run around the rice fields watching all the farmers cut

Types Of Collateral Used For Business Lending
When it comes to the type of collateral used for business lending, real estate is the most common one
irrespective of the firm size. About 40% of all banks rank real estate as the most preferred type of
collateral used for business lending in small, medium and large firms. The next most important forms
of collateral used across all firm sizes are cash and other liquid assets (approx. 22%) followed by (10
15 percent of banks) personal and bank guarantees.
When banks across developed and developing countries are compared, it was observed that developed
countries rank real estate as the most important type of collateral more frequently than the developing
countries. About 56% of the developed country banks rank real estate as the most important collateral
type for business lending to small firms compared to only 37 % of the developing country banks. In
case of developing countries, the banks consider a higher variety of collaterals as important. Though
cash, liquid assets, personal and bank guarantees are rated as important types of collateral by banks in
both developed and developing countries, land and equipment are rated as important collateral types
only in developing country banks (Little less than 15%).
Significant differences exist across the type of bank ownership regarding the type of assets used as
collateral. For foreign owned banks, the predominant asset used for collateral is real estate (54% of

  • 3. Analysis Of The Lynching Of Emmett Till The documentary, narrative The Lynching of Emmett Till by Christopher Metress, tells Emmett s story of death through various points of view. On August 24, 1955, Emmett Till, a fourteen year old African American boy from Chicago, entered a rural grocery store of Money, Mississippi. Because the young child had been gloating about his bond with white people up north, his southern cousins had dared him to go into the store and say something to the women working the register. Emmett accepted their challenge; seconds later he was at the counter, set on purchasing two items. What he did or said next will never be known for sure, but whatever passed between these two strangers from two different worlds set off a chain reaction that would forever ... In addition, the mood of the story is mysterious, unsettling, and chilling. In particular, when the author describes the murder of Emmett that is enough visualization to send chills down the reader s spine. Also, the tone of the author throughout the novel is solemn and gloomy. Lastly, not only is the novel informant: it s also educational at the same time. In conclusion, Emmett Till was a young boy who was born in a time that was rough for African Americans. Also, Christopher Metress is a published author and college professor whose ideas are linked with readers, worldwide. Sixty years later, at a time when race relations are once more at the front of the American mind, Till s name is still adducing as a reminder of the worst consequences of ignoring the problem. Accidentally, his story has inspired a regeneration of historians and scholars. Everyone has the right to have happiness in life and should not be oppressed by discrimination. In the year 1955, white men in the Mississippi Delta lynched a fourteen year old from Chicago named Emmett Till. His murder was part of a massive wave of white terrorism in the wake of the 1954 Supreme Court decision that declared public school segregation unconstitutional. Five years later, Black students launched sit in campaigns that turned the struggle for civil rights into a ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. To My Dear And Loving Husband By Anne Bradstreet In, To My Dear and Loving Husband, by Anne Bradstreet, we see that this poem is about a woman that loves her husband. Love conquers all right? The overall tone of this work comes off as love. Bradstreet shares many ways of her love with us and she wants us to know that her love is going to be as strong when they are no more living on this earth. Anne Bradstreet expresses to the audience her love for her husband in different tones. Throughout the poem, we see that Bradstreet is comparing her love to water, and gold; but in the end is that enough? The tone of each excerpt affects the whole message being given in, To My Dear and Loving Husband. Anne loves God, but she also loves her husband. On line ten she says, The heavens reward thee manifold, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... We see all of these throughout the poem. The passion is shown when she is comparing their love to gold. I prize thy love more than whole mines of gold, or all the riches that the East doth hold (226). She thinks her love for her husband is worth more then all of the rivers, creeks, lakes, and gold in the whole world. Their love could not fill oceans. Also in, If ever two were one, then surely we (226). She needs his love and she can not live without it. The writer thinks they could be one. It is interesting that a Puritan would write such a love poem. Puritans are supposing to have a relationship with God. I am surprised that she is writing something with so much emotion in it. On line nine she states, Thy love is such I can no way repay (226). She means that the love that her husband gives her is passionate and emotional, that there is no way that she could ever repay him. She wants to share how great her and her husbands chemistry is and that is endearing, because it is inspiring love. Another tone would be from Nor ought but love from thee, give recompense, (226) she is adoring of her husband. The last two lines of this poem expresses her endearing love. Then while we live, in love let s so persevere, that when we live no more, we may live ever (226). If ever man were loved by wife, then thee (Bradstreet 226) shows the ... • 5. What Is A Memorable Moment Essay Memorable Moment Let us go, please. I yelled. Ok where do you want to go? Mom asked. To the Lake, so pack. I said My mom, my sister Hailey ,and packed. I packed the cooler for the drinks and food. While I opened the freezer, I saw all of the frost on the ice container and I saw fog come out of the freezer. As my face got cooled I tried to get the ice container I put both arms in the freezer and reached and reached. As I kept on reaching I felt all of the cold air go on my arms all the way down my legs. As I finally picked up the large white, plastic, ice container I felt all of the frost on the box now on my hands. As I set the container full of ice on the island. Then I finally lifted up the ice container and dumped the ice in the cooler I put the container in the freezer. As my mom told me to watch Hailey while she goes to get soda. I told Hailey to pack whatever she wants to pack. As Hailey was packing I was sitting there listening to music on my phone. When I heard my mom pull in into the driveway and into the garage I took of my headphones and packed the cooler into the enormous trunk. While my sister was getting buckled into her carseat I got hers stuff and put it in the trunk. My mom and I got buckled and mom pulled out of the garage and we were on the road in no time, but before we went to the lake we stopped at Sara s Ice Cream Shop. I got a large root beer float while my mom got an Icecream cone and so did my sister. 30 minutes later we have arrived at the lake. As I stepped out of the car I could feel the blazing hot concrete. I ran to the cool relaxing water. My mom took out the towels and the cooler out of the car and set our spot up on the smooth, dry, and crunchy sand. As my 2 year old sister got her princess floaties on I saw a 10 foot cliff jump spot. As I walked up the steep, slippery, and light green mossy rocks. As I got to the top I got nervous, at that very moment somebody did a belly flop. While they did the belly flop I saw some pebbles fall of the 10 foot cliff. As I stepped up to the edge of the 10 foot it looked like a 15 foot cliff. • 6. Al Gore Famously Stated On The Threat Of Climate Change Al Gore famously stated on the threat of climate change The good news is, we have everything we need now to respond to the challenge of global warming. . . . But we should not wait, we cannot wait, we must not wait. In the early 2000s, the international community was uncertain on how best to address climate change and ensure the world s increasing development was sustainable. In 2008, the World Bank launched the Strategic Framework for Development and Climate change to jump start public and private sector action against climate change. Included in these proposals was the issuance of Green Bonds , an innovative method of encouraging investment in environmental and sustainable development projects across the globe. Green bonds have ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In response, the private sector crafted voluntary regulations for issuers known as the Green Bond Principles. Part III of this Comment will analyze the liabilities of voluntary prescription in the industry. Due to the lack of a definitive verification process, American municipal bonds are particularly vulnerable to investment in unhelpful green projects. New laws and regulations may turn off some investors hoping to cash in on the tax exempt investment grade bonds. Both issuers and recipients of the bonds will need to decide whether they care more about making green or being green. Part III of this Comment will also outline how investors in green bonds can use class action lawsuits to sue issuers who mislead them or greenwash their projects for non sustainable purposes. Part IV of this Comment will recommend definitive solutions for the green bond industry. First, the Securities Exchange Commission Securities and Exchange Commission ( SEC ) and the Environmental Protection Agency ( EPA ) through cooperative action should issue a conclusive definition of what a green project is. Secondly, this Comment will recommend the Municipal Securities Rulemaking Board ( MSRB ) increase their disclosure laws for municipal issuers of green bonds. Lastly, allowing class action ... • 7. Persuasive Essay On Changing The Date Of Australia Day Nearly every country features a special day where they celebrate their nation as an entire country and the 26th of January is the day that we Australians celebrate Australia day. We have been doing this for the past more than 200 years. Changing the date of Australia day has been a debate brought up every year in January. In a recent poll, the results show that most Australians don t care what date Australia day is held on as long as there is still a day where us Australians celebrate together as a whole. So, why do people feel the urge to change this date? There are many reasons why Australia day should be changed to a day that represents Australia more. The 26th of January is the day of the first fleet, but it was too the day that the intrusion begun. This day is seen by a few individuals as the day of mourning . This is because this day is when the first nation people had lost their land, alongside being persecuted by the settlers and numerous other issues that go with it. Plus, 26th January truly implies nothing to Australia as an entirety. They are not really celebrating the events that occurred on that day, it is what happened ... No, in fact, a whole week in advance, some men landed on the Sydney s Botany cove but afterwards found it not comfortable for them to settle, hence, they then migrated to another little cove which is presently known as the Sydney Harbour. Since it wasn t indeed the exact day that the British landed on Australia, then why celebrate it on this day? We think that this day should be changed because there is no reason why we should keep it on this day if it has no specific reason to stay and doesn t represent anything we would be proud ... • 8. Edgar Allen Poe s The Pit And The Pendulum The unit question asks whether or not the hero of Edgar Allen Poe s The Pit and the Pendulum would realistically be able to escape the descending blade swinging on a pendulum. The question is a matter of time, is it feasible for the protagonist to escape the pendulum with the allotted amount of time. Based on standard deviation and testing a pendulum of the same scale as the one mentioned in the story, the answer is no. The protagonist mentions that he believed 10 12 periods of the pendulum would result in the blade coming in contact with his torso. Using the formula developed in class for the period of a pendulum, it would take the 30 foot pendulum described in the story about 72 seconds to complete 12 periods. Testing the actual 30 foot yielded similar results within 1 2 seconds of 72 seconds. Therefore, it is fair to say that the hero is working with 72 seconds to free himself. This does not seem like enough time to develop an escape strategy, act on the strategy, and leave without getting hit bit the pendulum. The method the hero describes involves thinking about the situation and then employing the help of nearby rats. He also mentions, Yet one minute, and I felt that the struggle would be over, as if to imply he had 1 minute to spare. Since he was reflecting and then enticing the rats to gnaw through the rope it is not likely that it took only 12 seconds to escape. 72 seconds does not seem like enough time for the hero to complete his escape. However, the thickness of the rope and speed of the rats are factors that could affect the outcome. Standard deviation is a way of visualizing how spread out points of data are in a set. Using standard deviation helps to determine how rare or common an occurrence is. For example, data points falling within the boundaries of one standard deviation typically account for about 68% of data and those between (+/ )1 standard deviation and (+/ )2 standard deviations make about 27% combined. This can be better visualized by using a bell graph. Using the mean and standard deviation, the points where standard deviations occur can be drawn on the graph to better understand which data is rare and which is common. Standard deviation was used to help solve the unit ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 10. What Is The Secret Of Prosperity The Secret Of Prosperity The Secret of Prosperity is a very simple one. It is so simple that the people do not realize it. Many people do a lot of work throughout the day and do not find blessings in their work. Some people find that whatever they touch prospers. The secret is given by the psalmist in Psalm 1: 1 3. Blessed is the man whose delight is in the Law of the Lord and in His law he meditates day and night. It is not possible to read the Bible day and night all the time. But meditating in the Law of the Lord means that he should compare his thoughts, words and deeds with the Law and commandments of the Lord always. He shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water which brings forth its fruit in its season. His leaf also shall not wither. • 11. St. Augustine Free Will Analysis It s Your Choice St. Augustine answered a question, which was, why did God give freedom of the will to men since it is by this that men sin? His answer was, basically maybe God did not really give us freewill for us to sin, but something bigger, such as reward and punishment. We chose to do good or bad knowing that rewards and punishments comes from either one. God did not give freewill, but this is something that just had to come about for being a human being is what I grasp to understand from St. Augustine. I agree with St. Augustine because even though we may have come from God, it is still a choice to do good or bad. Evodius was saying what if God had not made it where we could chose to sin, what he failed to understand is that we would still have to choose to do good, even if that is the only choice. In this paper I will give supporting facts on how St. Augustine answered the question and understanding on how I agree with what he said. In Introducing Philosophy St. Augustine said, I want to ask, as well: do you know this clearly, or do you believe it willingly without really knowing it, because you ae prompted by authority. (Page 436 Solomon). • 13. Big Data Is Not Without Its Own Problems Abstract Five years ago, few people had heard the phrase Big Data. Today, it s hard to go an hour without seeing it implemented practically in our daily life. The promise of a highly accurate data driven decision making tool is an attractive lure for any organization in any industry. However, big data is not without its own problems. Through this paper, we will attempt to understand what constitutes Big Data . We will explore some of its sources and discuss some of the barriers faced by organizations looking to benefit from this phenomenon. We will also examine the various management tools and statistical techniques that can be used to extract information from big data. Keywords: Big Data, Information System, Analytics, Hadoop, ... Equally important, is to understand the evolving nature of big data and big data problems. What was considered a large data set 10 years ago is different from what we are being challenged with today or what we shall be faced with tomorrow. Big data is sprouting up everywhere and using it appropriately will drive competitive advantage. Ignoring it will simply put an organization at risk, and cause it to fall behind its competition. 2. Sources Of Big Data According to the Chief Futurist for Cisco Systems, Dave Evans, there are over 35 billion Internet enabled devices in the world today. source The Internet of Things is almost as common a buzzword as big data itself. Computers, mobile devices, coffee makers, washing machines, headphones, lamps, and wearable devices are all capable of producing data. This includes website tracking information, application logs, and sensor data such as check ins and other location tracking among other machine generated content. We should also consider the data generated by the processors found within vehicles, video games and cable boxes. A few other contributing sources of big data are: 2.1 Web Data. Being able to track what sites a user visits, what data he consumes, how he gets there, how long he spends on each item of content all this is a virtual treasure trove of big data. Being able ... As the bubbles eventually floated to the top, they would have decreased the volume slightly. Can you think of some way to insure that what you are seeing is not a result of the bubbles? A Major Exception to the Rule The general rule that has already been stated is that matter expands when heated and contracts when cooled, but there are a few exceptions. The most important exception is water when it freezes. Procedure: Fill the bottle to the top with water and replace the cap. Remove the bag and paper and examine the bottle. What do you see? What Happened: The bottle was shattered or very swollen. Deforestation is the removal of forests or trees from an area on a massive scale. Since the dawn of human civilization, clearing up vast areas of forested land solely to serve human interests has been a necessary environmental evil. Most existing nations, cities, villages etc. were built on deforested land. Interestingly, in current times the rate of deforestation has continued to increase in many areas like the Amazon rainforest, Indonesian forests, and the North American West. It has been estimated that the world s supple of rain forests could cease to exist within a hundred years at the current rate of deforestation. Historically, some of the primary motives behind this devastating occurrence include: the need for areas to establish human dwellings and/or farmlands (e.g. pastures for livestock), the need for wood and non wood based products and the use of wood as a fuel source. Although, deforested areas and their byproducts provide many relatively short term conveniences for humans, the long term costs far outweigh the benefits. • 20. Conceited Judgment and the Pitfall of Pride In both of Flannery O Connor s short stories A Good Man is Hard to Find and Good Country People, there is a central theme about the negative effects of trusting one s own judgment too readily, as well as using religion to manipulate people. It is easy to see multiple connections to this theme in the two short stories, although the specific events themselves are different. For instance, Hulga from Good Country People believes her intelligence allows her to see people s true character, but she is ultimately left alone full of despair when her faith in herself and her leg is ironically taken away. In the same way, the unnamed grandmother in A Good Man is Hard to Find feels her morals and experience in life allow her to judge other characters without fault. Therefore, the two short stories are similar to each other because the plots, characters, and misuses of religion reflect the central theme of trust and manipulation. Although the details of these two stories differ in many aspects, they share a similar plot that follows a theme about people trusting their own judgments too easily. In Good Country People, Hulga meets a Bible salesman, Manly Pointer, who seems to have an innocent aura around him. He bored Mrs. Hopewell, Hulga s mother, but she couldn t be rude to him. Cultural competence can change personal perceptions and attitudes According to the NASW (2008), practitioners need to look beyond cultural variations, historic oppression and discrimination. Gradgrinds two oldest children, Tom and Louisa, are examples of how this utilitarian method failed miserably. These children were never given the opportunity to think for themselves, experience fun things in life, or even use their imaginations. Also, it is when you begin a new life, one where you can make your own decisions. This is very important in the Igbo culture. The Machiavelli s Political Philosophy Revisiting Machiavelli s Political Philosophy Precede It is fundamentally important to preface the discussion hosted in this essay by addressing ourselves to the most mundane question why consider Machiavelli in the context of philosophy, least of all, political philosophy? This question dominates any philosophical inquiries of the Machiavelli s political ideologies. Put differently, do the contributions by NiccolĂČ Machiavelli to the various salient discourses in the Western thought, most notably political theory, meet the requisite standard models of academic philosophy? Machiavelli essentially seems not to consider himself a philosopher. In fact, he overtly disapproved of any philosophical inquiries into his works. In addition, his credentials do not qualify him to be properly admitted within the realm of philosophy (NeDermAN, 2002). However, that said, some of his ideas continue to attract philosophical engagements even by the so called first rank philosophers. This qualifies the incorporation of some of his ideologies into any comprehensive philosophical survey. This paper therefore zeros in on his political ideals that have culminated into what is known as Machiavelli s political philosophy of Machiavellism (Meinecke, 1965). The paper seeks to explore his political ideologies in general. Further, the paper seeks to establish based on any real evidence whether Machiavelli is indeed a break in the political philosophy or otherwise. In keeping with the latter ... I dreamt of climbing the tree all the way up the skies, reaching for the clouds. Naive and carefree; my childhood this was my home. When it was time for harvest, I would always run around the rice fields watching all the farmers cut rice plants. I can depict ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
