The Holocaust was a very difficult and heart wrenching time period. This tragic event occurred
because Adolf Hitler blamed the Jewish religion for Germany s corruption. Hitler kept many Jews in
camps and put millions to death by gassing them or rather poisoning them. Hitler s deadly camps were
mainly located in Germany during the second World War yet took place all over Europe.(around 1933
1945) For the Greek language, Holocaust means whole and burned .( as it says in source 2) The
segregation against the Jewish religion had took place long before Hitler came along. On January 20th
1933, Hitler was named Chancellor over Germany. Yet when Germany s supreme ruler, Paul von
Hindenburg passed away Hitler took it upon himself to fill his spot giving him more power than any
of the Jews would have liked. My point of view, that the immediate cause for this was the racial and
religious discrimination against the Jews; I think this is the main . In my opinion, since the jewish

The Effects Of Thalidomide And Its Effects On Children
Thalidomide Paper Thalidomide is a drug that was invented in Germany in the 1950 s. It was
originally intended to treat respiratory infections but during testing, it was noted that the drug worked
to relieve morning sickness for pregnant women. This new reason allowed the drug to be prescribed to
many new patients all over the world. Eventually Thalidomide was discovered to be causing birth
defects in all of the pregnant women that were taking it. It caused the fetus to not develop correctly by
causing limbs of the body or ears to develop improperly or not develop at all. It also cause spinal cord
and digestive system defects as well as problems to the heart and kidneys. Thalidomide stopped being
prescribed but not before many children and families were affected worldwide who had taken the
drug. It took a couple of years before other countries caught up to realize that thalidomide was causing
the birth defects and removed from being an over the counter drug in many countries. It wasn t until
1961 that it was completely removed after it was confirmed that it was causing birth defects. More
than 10000 babies were born with defects and approximately killed 2000 before birth, but fewer than
100 were born here in the U.S.
Short term effects included possible still born babies, and children with many health problems and
complications that severely impacted their quality of life. How much damage the Thalidomide did to

A comparison of Jurisdictions in the UK and USA
In this report I will be comparing the differences and similarities between legal jurisdictions between
the United Kingdom and the United States of America. I intend to outline some of the key differences
between the two systems.
In terms of the US and UK Supreme Courts they share a hand full of similarities, both handle the
highest appeals court within the jurisdictions on pivotal domestic law. The US Supreme Court has the
final say on federal constitutional law and has jurisdiction over the federal courts and over state courts.
Nevertheless, the Supreme Court doesn t have jurisdiction of matters of state law. Likewise, the UK
Supreme Court has the control over the court of appeal for every civil cases within the United
Kingdom and the criminal cases in England, Wales and Northern Ireland but when it comes to
Scotland and criminal cases the Supreme Court has limited jurisdiction. As well as the United
Kingdom the UK Supreme Court is also has a duty to assist the Court of Justice of the European

Gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender, queer. Sexuality, and how people identify. Our sexualities are who
we are and in this society we are often hiding this aspect of us because we are worried how we will be
viewed if we are open about it. The media in today s society tries to hide it away and act as if it does
not exist. This is exactly the case from the recent Warner Brothers movie Wonder Woman. Sexuality is
hardly shown in the movie Wonder Woman, but is very prevalent in the comics. Wonder Woman the
movie should not hide the sexual aspects that the comics show because in the comics she shows it is
okay to be sexual, and to be proud of your sexuality. Wonder Woman has been a hero who stands for
who she is, this is shown, but the film hides her ties to bondage, a part of who she is. Her authors
found a sanctity in bondage, and gave this belief to her. As Irene Javors states, Maston and Peter
conveyed their unique notions of liberation through bondage (Javors 1), her two authors, Harry Peter
and William Marston both found liberation in bondage, a freeing sense in being helpless. This concept
stems from the belief of freeing yourself by letting someone else take control, associated with the

states That Velma is a clever girl I ought to bind her hand and foot! But if I m gone long, tight bonds
might make her uncomfortable . Diana knows that if someone is in a bondage tie for too long that they

This tragic event occurred because Adolf Hitler blamed the Jewish religion for Germany s corruption. Hitler kept many Jews in camps and put millions to death by gassing them or rather poisoning them.
