The Fundamental Principle Of Inclusive Schooling
Meeting children s needs is a vital aspect of teaching whereby the needs of all children must be
taken into consideration. Teacher s professional practice is developed over time in various ways,
for example through experience and reflection (Tack et al, 2014). My professional practice was
informed by Meeting Children s Needs module as it educated me on how to assist children to
become successful learners. This can be achieved through various strategies that meet the diverse
needs of every child. The National Curriculum (National Curriculum, 2000) has at times been
ambiguous on the matter of inclusion as it is a contentious term. A prominent philosophy within
education was that children had to adapt themselves to classroom learning in order... Show more

Hence it is important that schools embrace diversity to ensure effective learning of all takes
place. Each child is special and as a practitioner working with children I have to be aware of all
issues surrounding children s lives as outside factors affect learning. This essay will focus on the
case studies of Charlotte and Pinkesh to illustrate how these case studies educated me on how to
deal with children in similar situations and how my professional practice has been developed.
These concepts of meeting children s needs prepared me for my SEL experience in many ways.
Firstly, it allowed me to understand the importance of inclusion and how this was crucial to
effective learning. One pupil I profiled was Jake; not given a SEN statement, however the
teacher ensured she differentiated, in turn enhancing his learning. Jake was very capable but he
had behavioural issues and suffered from low self esteem: very shy and liked working on his
own. After his work was completed he would act out. This behaviour was similar to the case
study of Charlotte as her behaviour deteriorated for attention. Charlotte just like Jake had low self
esteem; these children need to be given challenging work so they can reach their full potential.
Maslow points to the importance of self esteem and as a need by all to feel valued (Maslow, 1954,
p.91). Banks has argued that having good

Separating Acids and Neutral Compounds by Solvent Extraction
Separating Acids and Neutral Compounds by Solvent Extraction Introduction The purpose of this
experiment was to use solvent extraction techniques in order to separate a mixture consisting of a
carboxylic acid (p toulic acid), a phenol (p tert butylphenol), and a neutral compound (acetanilide).
Extraction is the process of selectively dissolving one or more of the compounds of a mixture into
an appropriate solvent, the solution that contains these dissolved compounds is called an extract
(Manion, 2004). Impurities that are present in the solution can be removed by extracting them from
the original solvent into another solvent. This is done by mixing two immiscible (insoluble to one
another) solvents (Manion, 2004). By mixing the... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This process was then repeated two more times with subsequent additions of 10 mL of the 0.5M
aqueous NaHCO3 and the aqueous layers drained off into the above mention labeled 100 mL
beaker. Finally 5 mL of deionized water was placed into the funnel and mixed. The water was
then drained off into the beaker containing the aqueous solution extracts. The solution was then
saved until need later in the experiment. The extraction of the p tert butylphenol was then carried
out in the exact same fashion as the p toulic acid, with the exception that the aqueous solution
added to the remaining ether solution was 10 mL of 0.5M NaOH. The solution was mixed and
the gas was in the funnel, along with the extraction of the aqueous layer three times into a clean
and labeled 100 mL beaker. As in the previous step an addition of 5 mL of deionized water was
used in the final extraction step. The extracted solution was also saved for later in the
experiment as was the ether layer remaining in the separatory funnel. 3 The retained solution
from the NaHCO3 extraction was used to precipitate the P toulic acid. Drop wise 3M HCl was
added to the extracted solution carefully until no more precipitate was formed and the solution
tested acidic, with a pH reading less than 3 as indicated by pH paper testing. A piece of clean filter
paper was then weighed and the mass recorded in a lab notebook. A vacuum filtration system was
constructed with a Buchner funnel

The Monkey s Paws Short Story Summary
Appreciating what you have
Greed and lust for something you don t need can lead to tragic consequences Amoruso . The
story, The Monkey s Paws is about a magical, enchanted monkey s paw, that was given to Mr.
and Mrs. White by Sergeant Major Morris. The Sergeant Major has explained to them that the
paw had a spell cast. The Sergeant Major warns him about the consequences and then throws it
into the fire but then Mr. White pulls it out. After The Sergeant left, Mr. White wishes for 200
pounds to pay off the house. The next day, the couple s son Herbert is killed in an accident at
work, and the company pays the couple 200 pounds in compensation (Jacobs, 1 5), This connects
to the theme of Greed and lust for something you don t need can lead to tragic consequences
Amoruso because the couple did not know what they were getting into but were willing to make a
wish even though they did not need it. This theme is conveyed by the literate techniques of
description and dialogue to accomplish the goals of creating a setting, building a modd, introducing
the characters and building suspense.
For instance, the author uses the description technique to create setting and build the mood. In the ...

Sergeant Major knew how dangerous the monkey s paw was and was only trying to avoid a tragic
scene. Hold it up in your right hand and wish aloud , said the sergeant major, but I warn you of the
consequences (Jacobs, 2). This technique of building suspense helps accomplish the goal of
dialogue. The conversation between the man and sergeant major. Through that technique the author
is able to show that there is consequences coming if he holds it up in his right hand wishing out
loud. In conclusion, the author does a really good job making sure that the readers are
comprehending the story by using this technique as well as making the story interesting by adding

The Devil Tree Short Story
THE HOUSE There was once a tree the local farmers and city folk referred too as the Devil Tree.
According to local legend, those who came in contact with the tree, especially anyone who did
harm to the Devil Tree, had dire consequences. Cursed! exclaimed the men and women of the
city. They may have been right, as it seems generations of people already lay dead due to the
Devil Tree. As time went on the old tree was finally cut down. The tree was cut into building
wood and later built into a house, and like the tree, the house was alive. It had memory and most
importantly it had hunger. Over many more generations the house passed from owner to owner
until one year, an unordinary couple bought the house. The Hatman s lived in the house for five
years during the 80s without moving out. People in the city became curious, specifically one
person: Dr. Toboggan. He had lived next door to the house for fifteen years and heard all the
horrible things that had happened inside the house. Now even though he still hears the noises he
sees the Hatman s get their mail every day. One day he saw the Hatman s bring something into their
house and it moved and jerked back and forth. He then waited a few minutes then grabbed a camera
and entered the house through the back window. As he jumped through the window he heard a loud
screech coming from the basement. As Dr. Toboggan crept through the house he saw unimaginable

Herman Boone Belonging
Question 1: Personal power is when one impacts another person or group of people through their
actions and behaviour. This is depicted in Coach Herman Boone as he uses his power as coach
to teach the white team and coloured team to work together to create the perfect team. It is also
seen when Louie Lastik sat with the people with coloured skin at lunch instead of with the
people with white skin . Social power is when a group of people have are more dominant or have
a higher status from something. In the movie Remember the titans, the people with white skin
have more social power at the beginning as they are considered better than people with coloured
skin. Institutional power is when individuals have more power than others from their experience
and knowledge. Institutional power is portrayed through the two coaches (Boone and Yoast) as
they have more power than the students since they have studied and finished. Question 2:
Belonging is the ability to feel wanted and included in a group, team or with other people. It is
imperative that the younger generation understand the concept of belonging as it will help them
find themselves as they grow. Personally, I had difficulty finding friends that I felt comfortable
with in primary school. However, after entering high school and finding an amazing group of
people who accept and understand me, both my emotional and mental well being has improved
greatly. Belonging is a vital component to have to ensure a positive well being.

James Hurst s Short Story The Scarlet Ibis
Imagine having a brother who is incapable of doing anything for himself. James Hurst s short
story tells the tale of a young boy in this position and the way his mindset is. In the short story
The Scarlet Ibis, James Hurst uses imagery, setting, and motif to convey Brother s feelings of guilt.
By using these literary elements, Hurst allows the readers to take a deeper look into Brother s
perception towards Doodle at the time.
Hurst uses imagery to show how Brother feels guilt for causing Doodle to die. I ran as fast as I
could, leaving him far behind with a wall of rain dividing us. Brother remembers when Doodle
says Brother, Brother, Don t leave me! Don t leave me! Brother feels guilt for leaving Doodle
once before. When Brother runs away from Doodle, he is not actually running away from him,
he is running away from the guilt which Doodle causes him to feel. Brother looks at Doodle and
feels guilty for leaving him at a time of trouble before. Hurst uses the rain as a way to symbolize
guilt and sorrow. What are you crying for They did not know that I did it for myself, that pride,
whose slave I was, spoke to me louder than all their voices. In this scene, Hurst shows the guilt in
this scene using imagery by showing us Brother crying. This is Hurst s way of showing us guilt.
When Brother cries, it is because he feels guilty of his motivation. His only reason for helping
Doodle was because he was ashamed of having a crippled brother .

During this interview, I noticed that we all have different attitudes and personalities that depend
on how we are raised, environmental factors, experiences, and cultural beliefs. I begin my
interview by asking my interviewee basic information. His is a twenty year old guy who is
interested in playing football, listening to the music, and surfing the internet. He is currently
unemployed and waiting for his deployment as member of the army. He attended some colleges

On the other hand, my personality is the exactly opposite of what he has. I am a trustee, and
decisive in practical affairs. The guardian of time honored institutions and very dependable. I
scored introverted, sensing, judging, and thinking. What do people usually perspective about
motivation? Do we do things because we like doing it? This is what is known as intrinsically
motivated. Or we do things in purpose? Getting a reward, or token from someone? This type of
motivation is extrinsically motivated. I think most of us prefer to be intrinsically motivated. We
like to have fun on what we do instead of being forced to do something that we don t want to. I
and my interviewee are the same, we rather do something that we like to do instead doing
something that we don t want and have something in return. One of my evaluations in my
interview profile is self monitoring. It is the tendency of an individual to observe the situation for
cues about how to react. I ask my interviewee if he monitors his attitude toward a situation. He
responded, I monitor my attitude when it comes to other people that I am not comfortable with or
to people that I am not emotionally close. With this, I can say that my interviewee observes his
attitude being relevant towards his behaviors to the people

Prometheus Misogyny
Prometheus steals fire and gives it to men by tricking Zeus, which makes Zeus angry. Zeus
originally hid the fire because he knew it would make a man s work much easier. As a result of
Prometheus giving men fire, Zeus decides to create the first woman, which is his way of getting
revenge. The first woman is created by Hephaestus out of earth and water. Also, the name Pandora
means all gifts in Greek because each of the gods and goddess on Mount Olympus gave Pandora
gifts that granted her certain qualities that were detrimental to her male counterparts, such as a
deceitful nature. In this way, the Pandora myth is incredibly misogynistic because it claims that
women are inherently evil, and that they were specifically made to bring men pain

Thin Layer Chromatography Of Amino Acid
Thin Layer Chromatography (TLC) of Amino Acids
Introduction:
Thin layer chromatography (TLC) separates compounds, through migration, from a mixed solution
with the assistance of a solvent and an absorbent strip of cellulose. The purpose of this lab is to
allow students to determine an unknown amino acid by comparing results to six known amino
acids (slowest to fastest: lysine, glycine, alanine, tyrosine, phenylalanine, and leucine) and properly
separate a combined solution of amino acids using the TLC method. But to fully understand the lab,
two terms must be understood: amino acid and protein. Amino acids are building blocks of proteins
linked by peptide bonds that contain both carboxyl and amino functional groups.
The six amino acids used in this experiment: ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Rf values for known and unknown amino acids. Lanes 2 and 4 were used to identify the unknown
(Unknown T) amino acid with the slight assistance of Lane 1.
Discussion:
Based on my results from Lanes 2 and 4, I predict Unknown T to contain both lysine and glycine
based on the slow reaction/movement the unknown experienced once the solvent was
introduced and the shortest distance it underwent. My prediction was supported with the
development of Lane 2. As I analyzed Lane 2, it became obvious that the six Rf values
represented the six known amino acids; the lowest Rf value was lysine and the highest Rf value
was leucine. Once the Rf values for the unknown was calculated it was easy to identify the two
amino acids present in the unknown sample due to corresponding values in both lanes. Although
one value (Rf = 0.515) in Lane 4 did not completely match with the second value (representing
glycine) in Lane 2, I can conclude that the Rf value in Lane 4 was still glycine because the values
are similar and close in range, and Lane 1 helps support my theory as

Comparing Augustine de Hippo and Mohammed to the Idea of a...
Greek and Roman cultural values pervaded the Western religious society and made it possible for
a series of Christian and Muslim religious individuals to be associated with historic figures present
in Ancient Greece and Rome. While the modern society has a different understanding of the
concept of the traditional hero, society during the early centuries perceived heroes as being
individuals who possessed a series of attributes related to religious ideas and to a general attitude
that promoted moral behavior. Individuals like Augustine de Hippo and Mohammed have come to
be seen as having several attributes that linked them to the idea of the classic Greek hero.
It is surely surprising that religion has adopted a pagan Greek term with the purpose of trying to
describe some of its most notable figures. It is not necessarily that Augustine de Hippo and
Mohammed were considered to possess superhuman abilities, as people came to associate them
with heroes because they were dedicated to assisting the masses and because they were
predisposed to doing good.
In addition to being perceived as one of the most important attributes in a saint, heroism actually
started to be praised by Christians as one of the principal qualities in any true Christian. Augustine
de Hippo basically believed that in order to be seen by God as a person who was capable to serve
divinity, the respective individual needed to be familiar with the attitudes that he or she needed to
put across and with the fact

Target Market For The New Dog Food Essay
Target Market
1.Describe your recommended target market for the new dog food. In the description, include the
following topics. The recommended target market for this new dog food is dog owners who care
about what they are feeding their animals by purchasing whole and nutritious food that clearly
states its ingredients.
a.Type of perceived risk involved in the purchase and use of dog food:
The type of perceived risks associated with purchasing and using dog food are performance risk
and safety risk. Consumers want to provide the best food for their pets, so they are worried that
the product may not perform as well as other products available. This fear may stem from recalls
of dog food brands that were not providing the nutrients that were advertised on the product s
packaging, thus not performing as well as a product that actually contains the nutrients. Consumers
see their pets as part of their family, they would not want anything to harm them. Since there have
been a multitude of recalls for dog food brands in the past due to salmonella and listeria, consumers
may fear that the dog food that they are feeding their pet may cause harm.
b.Likely level of involvement:
This product evokes a high level of involvement by their target consumer because these consumers
process the information given to them more extensively because they care highly about what they
are feeding their dog. These consumers will focus on the quality of the ingredients, to ensure that
they are

In August of 2002, Toshiba NEC proposed the next generation optical disc format HD DVD
(Williams, 2008). HD DVD (High Definition/Density DVD) transformed the way we view digital
media in the early 2000 s. It was predicted that the HD DVD would be the successor to the standard
DVD format.
As the creator of the successor to the standard DVD format, Toshiba created a paradigm shift
phasing out the standard DVD which played at 704 pixels by 480 pixels and introduced HD
DVD which plays at 1920 pixel by 1080 pixels ( The difference between, ). The HD optical disk

With marketing and management Toshiba convinced companies such as Paramount Pictures,
Universal Pictures, Warner Bros. Pictures, HBO and New Line Cinema to announce support for the
HD DVD format. This shift in technology, with the help of HDTV, moved in home entertainment to
new heights. Toshiba NEC were able to capitalize on the market meeting the needs of the PC

Strategies And Challenges In The Case Of Cloud Communications

case where the federal agency could be moving to a cloud, it may not be welcomed by most
employees of the federal agencies. It was the case of City of Pittsburgh, they had some strict
limitation and challenges in the deployment of their new IT project involving the use of the Cloud.
They did some analysis on the Internal and External Environment. Some specific challenges they

possess crucial IT knowledge and skills. Often that skill set can be attained only from previous
experience on similar IT projects . (Pearlson, Saunders Galleta, p 250), City of Pittsburg will be
relying heavily on consultants due to the fact that the in house IT department does not have the
knowledge and skills needed for the email services they are about to deploy for their use.
It is very key City of Pittsburg s CIO to look at these specific challenges so the migration can be
smooth, seamless and accepted by the employees in the agency. The migration into the cloud

Prosper Selkirk, John Torrington, and Lafey Dodge are on the other side of the spectrum as they
are the antagonists that represent big corporation. Each prominent character adds to the
storylines thickness and to the adversity Hitch must come to face. The story starts out with
Hitch, Law, and Rascal working under Charlie Waide on a cattle drive through Texas. The first
conflict in the novel arises when ownership of a cow is in question between Rascal and a fellow
cowboy. This small infraction ultimately sets the precedent of the story as the ownership of
cattle becomes a problem that builds up to the main conflict. As the story progresses forward,
Law is caught violating the cowboys set of unwritten laws as he tries to cheat other cattle
owners out of cattle, an offense he would repeatedly make throughout the novel that leads to his
death and would add fuel to the main conflict over cattle ownership. The title of the book is a
direct reference to the cowboy strike of 1883, which is represented in the novel when the
cowboys left their jobs as cowhands for the cattle drives and demanded higher wages, hoping to
cripple the big cattle companies that hindered the cowboys with their issuing of strict rules. Going
against his own morality and wishes, Hitch takes half of Charlie s men and leads them to join the

Casti Connubai On Christian Marriage
1.Christ dignified chaste wedlock before the coming of Christ by establishing it as a form of
companionship between two people who will come together to have children. He designed this
union to be the foundation of society. Christ further dignified wedlock by taking the Church as His
bride.
2.In Casti Connubii on Christian Marriage, Pope Pius XI lists two things men must do to obtain the
fruits of the sacrament of matrimony. The first is to be enlightened and fully understand Christ s
true doctrine regarding matrimony itself. The second is to still remain pure in their thoughts and
actions in order to obtain true peace and happiness for themselves and for their families .
3.a. The Pope sees a need to speak about the sanctity of marriage at this time because he saw that
the people of his day were beginning to forget the importance of a holy marriage. It especially
applies today with the leniency of how human intimacy is treated. Knowing this, the Pope spoke
of it to remind people the importance of a Holy Christian marriage. b. We know the Pope is
teaching infallibly here because he is re explaining a teaching already in practice. He doesn t add
anything to the core of the teaching, which is to avoid temptation in the context of human intimacy,
by shows specifically the temptations presented at that time in which the faithful should avoid. We
can further confirm that the Pope speaks infallibly because all teachings of the Pope come from
God, and there cannot be a fallible teaching from God Himself.
5. a. The point of Arcanum Divinae , as explained by Pope Pius XI, was to concentrate of
matrimony as a divine institution and it s sacramental and perpetual stability. He used this
Encyclical specifically as a reference and foundation for his own Encyclical. The only difference
being that Arcanum Divinae speaks of the spiritual aspects of the sacrament while the Casti
Connubii speaks of both the sacramental and the earthly systems and their effect on the lives of
men. b. Man cannot change the laws that strengthen marriage because such laws were not created
by man. It is a fundamental doctrine that the institution of matrimony and its laws were written by
God. Since God is infallible, and

The Power Of Corruption And Absolutism In Movie Analysis...
Corruption and absolutism are ruling France. The movie well describes France as a big corrupted
state where the poverty is on such a bad level, therefore, the people of France are starting to realize
that the king, Louis XVI, should be taken down. The idea of to getting France to change to better is
visualized through the main characters which are not trying to help just Francebut also the French
people. However, the nobles are making it impossible for anybody, who is not on their side, to
even get a chance to see the king and the noblewomen have the power of corruption which is shown
in many ways throughout the movie.
The main character, which in the movie is called the Engineer, is a noble from the southwest
part of France. He may not be as rich as the nobles that live in Versailles, but he is honest, straight
forward, compassionate, and pure hearted. He is willing to take action, he understands the

Expectancy Violation Theory (Paper Rough Draft)
Expectancy Violation Theory (Paper Rough Draft) Expectancy Violation Theory, or more
commonly referred to as EVT, is the study of attempting to explain one s reactions to unexpected
behavior of their peers, and the various meanings that people attribute to the violation, or
infringement, of their personal space. Judee Burgoon defines personal space as the invisible,
variable volume of space surrounding an individual that defines that individual s preferred distance

context of EVT, as well as how to apply them. Expectancy Violations theory was created by Judee

An Evidence Vitro For The Influence Of Bisphenol A On Uterine
Synopsis of An evidence in vitro for the influence of bisphenol A on uterine leiomyoma
1.Introduction
Uterine fibroids are the most common noncancerous growths of the uterus also known as
leiomyomas or myomas. They are not usually associated with an increased risk of uterine cancer
and almost never develop into cancer but are considered as a common cause of hysterectomy.
Gynecological researchers consider that the increase in the incidence of this type of tumor is related
to the presence of exogenous estrogens in the environment, classifying these uterine fibroids as
hormonally responsive tumors.
The use of phenolic estrogens in the manufacture of plastic, resins, and several others, created a risk
for the human and environment since the exposure and pollution due to these chemicals has
increased significantly. Among these phenolic estrogens is Bisphenol A (BPA) which is considered
to influence the development of uterine fibroids. However, the role of environment estrogens in the
promotion of the growth of uterine fibroids, and its mechanism of action are not completely
established.
The authors of this paper performed a series of evaluations and observations expecting to identify
the effect and mechanism of BPA on uterine leiomyoma (UL) cells. In this study UL cells were
exposed to different concentrations of BPA to observe the cell, the proteinexpression was
monitored for changes in expression of estrogen receptor alpha (ERО±), insulin like growth factor

Essay On Tattoos And Tattoos
Discrimination and Tattoos In the past, people used to see people with tattoos as lacking in
character and work ethic. In light of the growing popularity of tattoos in the modern age, people s
opinions have stayed away from that. While the United Kingdom may not be as well known for
heavily tattooed people as other countries in the world, the popularity in the United Kingdom is
growing. Tattoos do not affect a person s character or work ethic; therefore, should not be
discriminated against in the United Kingdom. When most people see a person that is heavily
tattooed, they do not see the typical hard working family man. They see an inked up delinquent or

In the United Kingdom, there are no laws protecting employees from employer discrimination on
the sole basis of body art. During the hiring process, employers can have the most qualified
applicant possible with tattoos, but under current United Kingdom law, they can hire a less
qualified person who has no tattoos. This practice is completely legal without being considered a
form of discrimination. Employers in the United Kingdom stigmatize tattooed applicants and/or

their clients (Michael). This kind of discrimination is unjust and unethical. The only way a person
can challenge this type of discrimination is if they are directly religious and even then, the
employee would have to go through a strenuous process of actually proving it has direct religious
ties. With the popularity of tattoos in the United Kingdom growing rapidly, many employers are
being forced to cut back on their prejudicial opinions of tattoos. According to the BBC, roughly
twenty percent of the United Kingdom s population has at least one tattoo. Among young adults, the

exception of above the neck and hand tattoos, which are completely understandable in an

Why Are Fragile States Difficult
All countries are part of a global economy that is constantly trying to develop and progress.
Sometimes, however these developmental stages arrive in countries at different times, some later
than others. With this lack of development emerges fragile states which may endanger not only
themselves and neighbouring states but, also international security, peace, and overall global
economy. These unstable countries, riddled with poverty pose an increasing threat towards causing
intensified conflicts. To counter these threats and conflicts in attempts to keep and restore peace,
international humanitarian interventions are often used. In theory, these humanitarian

These standards include a right to life with dignity; distinction between combatants and non

Essay On Dual Language Learners
The amount of young children who are acquiring English as a second or even third language in
the early care and education (ECE) setting as well as K 12 public classrooms have amplified

their native language are considered dual language learners (DLLs) (Espinosa, 2015, p. 40). The

Romanticism In Mary Shelley s Frankenstein
Mary Shelley s Frankenstein
INTRO: While the Age of Enlightenment emphasized reason and knowledge, the following literary
period from 1800 to 1850 known as Romanticism was characterized by creativity, emotion and
relationships. Mary Shelley s novel Frankenstein, written in 1818, exemplifies this style of literature
in its use of imagery, tone and symbolism. By implementing a writing technique known as frame
narrative, a perspective is presented as a story within a story within another story, etc. In this
particular book, the reader is introduced to an explorer named Robert Walton, whose letters begin as
first person narration, which transition into the viewpoints of the other main characters in
Frankenstein. On his voyage to the North Pole, Walton writes letters to his sister in England that
explain his encounter with a scientist named Victor Frankenstein, who in turn tells his story of how
he created a monster. Frankenstein s creation then narrates and defends the life unwillingly thrust
upon him. Finally, a group known as the cottagers offer a different perspective of the entire matter,
which primarily focuses on the creation s interactions with society.

Criminal Justice And The Juvenile Justice System
Introduction to Criminal Justice Criminal Justice is such a broad subject and workforce. At this
point in time criminal justice is needed more than ever in America and the world as we know it
today. The criminal justice system has improved more and more throughout history by changing
something as simple as law enforcement officer s purpose and who they are taking orders from.
The objective of this analysis is to break down these three criminal justice subjects: the juvenile
justice system, prisonlife and the different policing eras. Juveniles has an extensive background of
violent crimes throughout history. Ever since the 1990s crimerates for youth has decreased in some
way compared to the late 18th century and early 19th century. These descending crime rates have
driven numerous of jurisdictions to reconsider how they go about juvenile justices practices, which
were so popular so many years ago. States launched dominant systematic reforms arranged to
diminish institutional incarceration. Punishment for youth by the courts consisted off jails and
penitentiaries. From an historical aspect the idea; of having a different legal structure for youth
offenders is rather new. In the past, children as young as 7 years old who were detained for crimes
were incarcerated right along with adults. In the United States in the earl nineteenth century, the
concept of amending juveniles was fundamental in this country. The first juvenile facility called

According to the World Health Organization (WHO), the acceptable limit dose of copper (II)
ions in drinking water approved is 2.0 mg/L. Therefore, the removal of copper (II) ions from
wastewater is urgent before their rejection into the environment in order to preserve public
health and environmental disorder. Thus it has been a matter of concern of several researches in
recent years. Copper (II) ions can be removed from wastewater by using different techniques
including chemical coagulation, ion exchange, solvent extraction and adsorption. Among these
above cited techniques, adsorption is the mostly appreciated due to its easier protocol, efficiency
and low operation cost. In matter of fact, several adsorbents such as clays [4 5], wheat shells [6],
bagasse fly ash [7], modified goethite [8] and metakaolin based geopolymer [9] have been used
for this purpose. A particular attention had been paid to clays which are available, cheaper and
possessed interesting chemical and mechanical properties. Additionally, clay minerals have
different adsorption capacities for metal ions. They have been found to be very effective,
economical and versatile [10]. In the scientific literature, several studies have been reported on
kaolinite clay for adsorption of heavy metals from aqueous solutions [4, 11]. In this present work, a

The Environment Is A System Of Living Things
An environment is a system of living things. The Earth is our environment. The capacity of our
environment to offer space, to reap nutrition and to fund energy are all limited. Food, water and
other basic assets are strained by the escalating requests of our persistently developing population.
We rely on these limited resources for our survival, yet we are quickly extending our populationas
though they were infinite. This reality is at the focal point of our environmental issues. Despite the
fact that the number of inhabitants on earth has been escalating in a continuous manner since 1400,
the most emotional increment has taken place in more recent decades. Overpopulationis a standout
amongst the most concerning troubles in present times. It is an undesirable condition where the
number of existing human population exceeds the carrying capacity of Earth. (1) There is a natural
point of confinement to the population size that can be reasonably maintained by an environment.
Overpopulation is the undesirable condition where the amount of the existing human population
exceeds this natural limit and eventually devours our planet with the request for more nutrition
from less land and water supplies. As the total population develops, enhancing expectations for
everyday comforts and improving living standards without destroying the Earth is a global
challenge. Our world populationis growing at about eighty million people a year, which equates to

Essay on Eyewitness Identification and Reliable Testimony
Eyewitness identification and testimony play a huge role in the criminal justice system today, but
skepticism of eyewitnesses has been growing. Forensic evidence has been used to undermine the
reliability of eyewitness testimony, and the leading cause of false convictions in the United States
is due to misidentifications by eyewitnesses. The role of eyewitness testimony in producing false
confessions and the factors that contribute to the unreliability of these eyewitness testimonies are

Research that has been performed on this factor shows that the chance of mistaken identification is
1.56 times greater in cases that involve different races than in cases involving same race
identification (Vallas, 2011). This factor of own race bias does not vary significantly among age
groups. Other factors that affect eyewitness identification are violence, stress, and the focus on a
weapon. Violence, stress, and the presence of a weapon at the time of a crime all may have
detrimental effects on the ability of a witness to make an accurate identification (Vallas, 2011).
Stress distorts an eyewitness s observations, and while it is understandable to focus on the
weapon when faced with a situation in which the eyewitness is in danger, the focus on the
weapon is not as important as the description of the perpetrator. Since it is not within the power
of researchers studying the effects of violence and stress on witnesses to replicate the exact
stress and violence of an actual crime, it has been difficult to determine the actual effect that
these two factors have on witnesses (Vallas, 2011). However, many experiments conclude that an
increase in the level of violence used in the crime results in a decrease in both the accuracy of the
identification as well as the witness s recall abilities (Vallas, 2011). Weapon focus is described as

What is the dramatic significance of scene one of the play A Streetcar named Desire?
Scene 1 of this play has great dramatic significance. In this essay, I will be looking at key points
throughout the scene that reveal the key features of the plot, characters, theme and imagery plus
how it is used to give the audience a taster for what is to come.
Scene one is set in New Orleans, I feel this is used because in peoples mind beforehand it has a
strong emotional presence and is often associated with many types of genres such as music. Sight
and smell are often used in plays to help people get a sense of atmosphere and this is no exception.
Cleverly as always to make something stand

Stanley does not fall for her intimidating and self pitying ways from the death of her husband and
the lies of her wealth, the use of polka is premeditated to knowingly be brought to the audience that
only they and Blanche hear it due to her change in mood and actions. The contrast between Stanley
and Blanche is immediate, due to their opposition of childhood backgrounds, Blanche coming
from an aristocratic background to the less well off Stanley who is a relaxed man with strong
beliefs and up until the arrival of
Blanche he knew the true meaning of living(loving and caring for those you love) which when
Blanche arrived made him take out his stress on
Stella.
There is already a lot of things to take in for the audience, even though it can be broken down quite
simply, they soon realise the contrasting opposites of Blanche and Stanley and the current and
future rifts it is likely to cause between Stanley and Stella. We see that Stella is becoming the
middle link between these two characters.
On top of the contrast between Stanley and Stella there is now an extra aspect of Blanche s true
deception. This is first shown when
Blanche, who is offered whiskey from Stanley, comments that she does not like to touch a glass,
even though the audience have clearly seen her drink a glass alone while Stanley is not in the
room. They realise her misleading self I say this

Northern Baroque Vs Italian Baroque
In this essay, the difference between Northern Baroque and Italian Baroque styles of painting, the
differences between a male and a female interpretation, the narrative differences, and the
psychological dilemmas they present to the viewer will be discussed. In the style of Italian
Baroque, Genteleschi s version of Susanna and the Elders use of color is much more vibrant than
Ruben s interpretation. This can be seen in the bright red cape and blue shirt that the right Elder is
wearing, the dull blue sky, the dark purple and light brown robes the left Elder is wearing and with
the contrast of Susanna s white body against the cold concrete bench upon which she is sitting. The
detailed carving behind Susanna along with the smooth surface of the concrete bench could be a
symbol of wealth that her family... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The helplessness felt by Susanna could represent the feelings felt by many of the women at the
time, as they had nowhere near the amount of power that men had. They could only achieve power
through marriage. Even though they had power in marriage, women were still subservient to the
husband. They were seen as child bearers and bread makers. Apart from the love for their husband,
little else granted them power of the likes of their husband, legally or otherwise. Ruben s
interpretation could represent how men were feeling at the time period, like predators of the night.
How they prey on the unsuspecting widows and unwed women throughout the night brings to mind
Jack the Ripper, based on the sinister tone of Ruben s painting. Susanna could represent the sheer
terror that is felt by women at the time of how they could be the next target for a sexually frustrated
male. She is also alone, which would echo the same point brought about by Genteleschi s rendition
of Susanna and the

Argumentative Essay On Psychedelic Drugs
LSD, Psilocybin, DMT, MDMA, Ketamine and Adrenochrome... what do they all have in
common? They are all psychedelic drugs. Psychedelic drugs are drugs that cause hallucinations and
apparent expansion of consciousness. There are many unanswered questions about the drug, what
exactly is a psychedelic and what defines it also, what is the purpose of a psychedelic drug?
Psychedelics are usually thought of as one of the most profound times in your life or one of the
worst decisions you have ever made, but either way it is a life changing experience. Another aspect
of psychedelic drugs is the myths and misconceptions about the different types, some are
exponentially more dangerous than the others and in the end each drug has a different effect on
whomever... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
That is usually never the case, unless you are the 1% that it does happen to and that is an idea
you should have considered before you blindly took the drug. But most importantly psychedelics
usually do not trigger mental disorders. Just because you took mescaline once in high school
does not mean that you randomly developed schizophrenia. Another extremely popular
misconception is that you will re trip or have flashbacks that make you feel like you are tripping
years after you took the drug. That is completely false, people believe that psychedelics, mainly
LSD is stored in your spinal fluid and can leak over time, but that is also untrue. Even though a
few ideas about psychedelics are not real does not mean that the drug is safe and a walk in the
park. If you want to experiment you should research the subject for yourself and see if it is right
for you, don t just take it because your friends think it cool, educate

Abstract
There is a misconception that e Business simply means buying and selling products and services
over the Internet. The broader view of e Business focuses on the key processes that directly enhance
revenue В— namely, customer acquisition and retention through sales, marketing and service
(Siebel, 2004). This customer centric view of e Business is not limited to the Internet but rather
applies to all aspects of the customer relationship whether it is online or offline. ... Show more

However, there are also the advantages and disadvantages to every good thing. When it comes to e
business, the advantages may include being able to use applications and features such as email,
which is great because it is a quick and cheap way of sending information, combined with the ability
to attach files and send them onto another user. E business is also quicker and easier means of
communications; it may strengthen marketing capabilities and reach. Finally, it may also reduce
the cost of doing business by lowering transaction costs and increasing efficient methods for
payment, such as using online banking and reducing stationery and postage costs.
Despite having many advantages of the Internet, there are, unfortunately disadvantages as well in
e business. For example, Viruses are often spread over the Internet, which can normally be done
via email. Even having a virus scanner does not protect your computer system at one hundred
percent because they do not always recognize new virus, which it does not yet know about. Other
disadvantages may include hackers being able to access your system and therefore, all of the
company s files, which could ruin the company s business, may be at large. There is also one of
the biggest complaints, which is the lack of physical contact because it prevents scrutiny of
products and lacks face to face interaction; there may be difficulty in finding information;

  • 3. The Fundamental Principle Of Inclusive Schooling Meeting children s needs is a vital aspect of teaching whereby the needs of all children must be taken into consideration. Teacher s professional practice is developed over time in various ways, for example through experience and reflection (Tack et al, 2014). My professional practice was informed by Meeting Children s Needs module as it educated me on how to assist children to become successful learners. This can be achieved through various strategies that meet the diverse needs of every child. The National Curriculum (National Curriculum, 2000) has at times been ambiguous on the matter of inclusion as it is a contentious term. A prominent philosophy within education was that children had to adapt themselves to classroom learning in order... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Hence it is important that schools embrace diversity to ensure effective learning of all takes place. Each child is special and as a practitioner working with children I have to be aware of all issues surrounding children s lives as outside factors affect learning. This essay will focus on the case studies of Charlotte and Pinkesh to illustrate how these case studies educated me on how to deal with children in similar situations and how my professional practice has been developed. These concepts of meeting children s needs prepared me for my SEL experience in many ways. Firstly, it allowed me to understand the importance of inclusion and how this was crucial to effective learning. One pupil I profiled was Jake; not given a SEN statement, however the teacher ensured she differentiated, in turn enhancing his learning. Jake was very capable but he had behavioural issues and suffered from low self esteem: very shy and liked working on his own. After his work was completed he would act out. This behaviour was similar to the case study of Charlotte as her behaviour deteriorated for attention. Charlotte just like Jake had low self esteem; these children need to be given challenging work so they can reach their full potential. • 4. Separating Acids and Neutral Compounds by Solvent Extraction Separating Acids and Neutral Compounds by Solvent Extraction Introduction The purpose of this experiment was to use solvent extraction techniques in order to separate a mixture consisting of a carboxylic acid (p toulic acid), a phenol (p tert butylphenol), and a neutral compound (acetanilide). Extraction is the process of selectively dissolving one or more of the compounds of a mixture into an appropriate solvent, the solution that contains these dissolved compounds is called an extract (Manion, 2004). Impurities that are present in the solution can be removed by extracting them from the original solvent into another solvent. This is done by mixing two immiscible (insoluble to one another) solvents (Manion, 2004). By mixing the... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Finally 5 mL of deionized water was placed into the funnel and mixed. The water was then drained off into the beaker containing the aqueous solution extracts. The solution was then saved until need later in the experiment. The extraction of the p tert butylphenol was then carried out in the exact same fashion as the p toulic acid, with the exception that the aqueous solution added to the remaining ether solution was 10 mL of 0.5M NaOH. The solution was mixed and the gas was in the funnel, along with the extraction of the aqueous layer three times into a clean and labeled 100 mL beaker. As in the previous step an addition of 5 mL of deionized water was used in the final extraction step. The extracted solution was also saved for later in the experiment as was the ether layer remaining in the separatory funnel. 3 The retained solution from the NaHCO3 extraction was used to precipitate the P toulic acid. Drop wise 3M HCl was added to the extracted solution carefully until no more precipitate was formed and the solution tested acidic, with a pH reading less than 3 as indicated by pH paper testing. A piece of clean filter paper was then weighed and the mass recorded in a lab notebook. A vacuum filtration system was constructed with a Buchner funnel ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

According to local legend, those who came in contact with the tree, especially anyone who did harm to the Devil Tree, had dire consequences. Cursed! exclaimed the men and women of the city. They may have been right, as it seems generations of people already lay dead due to the Devil Tree. As time went on the old tree was finally cut down. The tree was cut into building wood and later built into a house, and like the tree, the house was alive. It had memory and most importantly it had hunger. Over many more generations the house passed from owner to owner until one year, an unordinary couple bought the house. The Hatman s lived in the house for five years during the 80s without moving out. People in the city became curious, specifically one person: Dr. Toboggan. He had lived next door to the house for fifteen years and heard all the horrible things that had happened inside the house. Social power is when a group of people have are more dominant or have a higher status from something. In the movie Remember the titans, the people with white skin have more social power at the beginning as they are considered better than people with coloured skin. Institutional power is when individuals have more power than others from their experience and knowledge. Institutional power is portrayed through the two coaches (Boone and Yoast) as they have more power than the students since they have studied and finished. Question 2: Belonging is the ability to feel wanted and included in a group, team or with other people. It is imperative that the younger generation understand the concept of belonging as it will help them find themselves as they grow. James Hurst s short story tells the tale of a young boy in this position and the way his mindset is. In the short story The Scarlet Ibis, James Hurst uses imagery, setting, and motif to convey Brother s feelings of guilt. By using these literary elements, Hurst allows the readers to take a deeper look into Brother s perception towards Doodle at the time. Hurst uses imagery to show how Brother feels guilt for causing Doodle to die. I ran as fast as I could, leaving him far behind with a wall of rain dividing us. Brother remembers when Doodle says Brother, Brother, Don t leave me! Don t leave me! Brother feels guilt for leaving Doodle once before. When Brother runs away from Doodle, he is not actually running away from him, he is running away from the guilt which Doodle causes him to feel. Brother looks at Doodle and feels guilty for leaving him at a time of trouble before. Hurst uses the rain as a way to symbolize guilt and sorrow. What are you crying for They did not know that I did it for myself, that pride, whose slave I was, spoke to me louder than all their voices. In this scene, Hurst shows the guilt in this scene using imagery by showing us Brother crying. This is Hurst s way of showing us guilt. When Brother cries, it is because he feels guilty of his motivation. His only reason for helping Doodle was because he was ashamed of having a crippled brother . ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The purpose of this lab is to allow students to determine an unknown amino acid by comparing results to six known amino acids (slowest to fastest: lysine, glycine, alanine, tyrosine, phenylalanine, and leucine) and properly separate a combined solution of amino acids using the TLC method. But to fully understand the lab, two terms must be understood: amino acid and protein. Amino acids are building blocks of proteins linked by peptide bonds that contain both carboxyl and amino functional groups. The six amino acids used in this experiment: ... Discussion: Based on my results from Lanes 2 and 4, I predict Unknown T to contain both lysine and glycine based on the slow reaction/movement the unknown experienced once the solvent was introduced and the shortest distance it underwent. My prediction was supported with the development of Lane 2. As I analyzed Lane 2, it became obvious that the six Rf values represented the six known amino acids; the lowest Rf value was lysine and the highest Rf value was leucine. Once the Rf values for the unknown was calculated it was easy to identify the two amino acids present in the unknown sample due to corresponding values in both lanes. Although one value (Rf = 0.515) in Lane 4 did not completely match with the second value (representing glycine) in Lane 2, I can conclude that the Rf value in Lane 4 was still glycine because the values are similar and close in range, and Lane 1 helps support my theory as ... Greek and Roman cultural values pervaded the Western religious society and made it possible for a series of Christian and Muslim religious individuals to be associated with historic figures present in Ancient Greece and Rome. While the modern society has a different understanding of the concept of the traditional hero, society during the early centuries perceived heroes as being individuals who possessed a series of attributes related to religious ideas and to a general attitude that promoted moral behavior. Individuals like Augustine de Hippo and Mohammed have come to be seen as having several attributes that linked them to the idea of the classic Greek hero. It is surely surprising that religion has adopted a pagan Greek term with the purpose of trying to describe some of its most notable figures. It is not necessarily that Augustine de Hippo and Mohammed were considered to possess superhuman abilities, as people came to associate them with heroes because they were dedicated to assisting the masses and because they were predisposed to doing good. In addition to being perceived as one of the most important attributes in a saint, heroism actually started to be praised by Christians as one of the principal qualities in any true Christian. Augustine de Hippo basically believed that in order to be seen by God as a person who was capable to serve divinity, the respective individual needed to be familiar with the attitudes that he or she needed to put across and with the fact ... • 20. Casti Connubai On Christian Marriage 1.Christ dignified chaste wedlock before the coming of Christ by establishing it as a form of companionship between two people who will come together to have children. He designed this union to be the foundation of society. Christ further dignified wedlock by taking the Church as His bride. 2.In Casti Connubii on Christian Marriage, Pope Pius XI lists two things men must do to obtain the fruits of the sacrament of matrimony. The first is to be enlightened and fully understand Christ s true doctrine regarding matrimony itself. The second is to still remain pure in their thoughts and actions in order to obtain true peace and happiness for themselves and for their families . 3.a. The Pope sees a need to speak about the sanctity of marriage at this time because he saw that the people of his day were beginning to forget the importance of a holy marriage. It especially applies today with the leniency of how human intimacy is treated. Knowing this, the Pope spoke of it to remind people the importance of a Holy Christian marriage. b. We know the Pope is teaching infallibly here because he is re explaining a teaching already in practice. He doesn t add anything to the core of the teaching, which is to avoid temptation in the context of human intimacy, by shows specifically the temptations presented at that time in which the faithful should avoid. We can further confirm that the Pope speaks infallibly because all teachings of the Pope come from God, and there cannot be a fallible teaching from God Himself. 5. a. The point of Arcanum Divinae , as explained by Pope Pius XI, was to concentrate of matrimony as a divine institution and it s sacramental and perpetual stability. He used this Encyclical specifically as a reference and foundation for his own Encyclical. The only difference being that Arcanum Divinae speaks of the spiritual aspects of the sacrament while the Casti Connubii speaks of both the sacramental and the earthly systems and their effect on the lives of men. b. An Evidence Vitro For The Influence Of Bisphenol A On Uterine Synopsis of An evidence in vitro for the influence of bisphenol A on uterine leiomyoma 1.Introduction Uterine fibroids are the most common noncancerous growths of the uterus also known as leiomyomas or myomas. They are not usually associated with an increased risk of uterine cancer and almost never develop into cancer but are considered as a common cause of hysterectomy. Gynecological researchers consider that the increase in the incidence of this type of tumor is related to the presence of exogenous estrogens in the environment, classifying these uterine fibroids as hormonally responsive tumors. The use of phenolic estrogens in the manufacture of plastic, resins, and several others, created a risk for the human and environment since the exposure and pollution due to these chemicals has increased significantly. Among these phenolic estrogens is Bisphenol A (BPA) which is considered to influence the development of uterine fibroids. However, the role of environment estrogens in the promotion of the growth of uterine fibroids, and its mechanism of action are not completely established. The authors of this paper performed a series of evaluations and observations expecting to identify the effect and mechanism of BPA on uterine leiomyoma (UL) cells. In light of the growing popularity of tattoos in the modern age, people s opinions have stayed away from that. While the United Kingdom may not be as well known for heavily tattooed people as other countries in the world, the popularity in the United Kingdom is growing. Tattoos do not affect a person s character or work ethic; therefore, should not be discriminated against in the United Kingdom. In the United Kingdom, there are no laws protecting employees from employer discrimination on the sole basis of body art. During the hiring process, employers can have the most qualified applicant possible with tattoos, but under current United Kingdom law, they can hire a less qualified person who has no tattoos. This practice is completely legal without being considered a form of discrimination. Employers in the United Kingdom stigmatize tattooed applicants and/or employees work ethic, believing that they will not work as hard and send a negative image to their clients (Michael). This kind of discrimination is unjust and unethical. The only way a person can challenge this type of discrimination is if they are directly religious and even then, the employee would have to go through a strenuous process of actually proving it has direct religious ties. With the popularity of tattoos in the United Kingdom growing rapidly, many employers are being forced to cut back on their prejudicial opinions of tattoos. According to the BBC, roughly twenty percent of the United Kingdom s population has at least one tattoo. Among young adults, the numbers rise to roughly thirty three percent (Kelly). Some companies will tolerate tattoos with the exception of above the neck and hand tattoos, which are completely understandable in an interpersonal business that involves customer service. Romanticism In Mary Shelley s Frankenstein Mary Shelley s Frankenstein INTRO: While the Age of Enlightenment emphasized reason and knowledge, the following literary period from 1800 to 1850 known as Romanticism was characterized by creativity, emotion and relationships. Mary Shelley s novel Frankenstein, written in 1818, exemplifies this style of literature in its use of imagery, tone and symbolism. By implementing a writing technique known as frame narrative, a perspective is presented as a story within a story within another story, etc. In this particular book, the reader is introduced to an explorer named Robert Walton, whose letters begin as first person narration, which transition into the viewpoints of the other main characters in Frankenstein. On his voyage to the North Pole, Walton writes letters to his sister in England that explain his encounter with a scientist named Victor Frankenstein, who in turn tells his story of how he created a monster. Frankenstein s creation then narrates and defends the life unwillingly thrust upon him. Thus it has been a matter of concern of several researches in recent years. Copper (II) ions can be removed from wastewater by using different techniques including chemical coagulation, ion exchange, solvent extraction and adsorption. Among these above cited techniques, adsorption is the mostly appreciated due to its easier protocol, efficiency and low operation cost. Violence, stress, and the presence of a weapon at the time of a crime all may have detrimental effects on the ability of a witness to make an accurate identification (Vallas, 2011). Stress distorts an eyewitness s observations, and while it is understandable to focus on the weapon when faced with a situation in which the eyewitness is in danger, the focus on the weapon is not as important as the description of the perpetrator. Since it is not within the power of researchers studying the effects of violence and stress on witnesses to replicate the exact stress and violence of an actual crime, it has been difficult to determine the actual effect that these two factors have on witnesses (Vallas, 2011).
