Pericles Funeral Speech Summary
The author of this document was Philip F. Riley he quoted Pericles. Pericles was quoted from 430 431
B.C.E. The purpose of this document was for Pericles to deliver a funeral speech and praise his city at
the same time. The main two points of Pericles was trying to get across was how his city was ran and
how tough his men fought in the war. Pericles knew he city was unique and different and wasn t a
follower he said, Our constitution does not copy the laws of neighboring states; we are rather a model
for others than imitators ourselves. This meant they had there own laws and did not follow
neighboring city s laws. Pericles said, The freedom we enjoy in our government extends also to our
private life. He means that they had freedom from ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Pericles quoted, If I have dwelt at some length upon the character of our country, it has been to show
that our stake in the struggle is not the same as theirs who have no such blessings to lose, and also that
the praise of the men over whom I am now speaking might be confirmed by definite proofs. His
meaning was to comment on the war and how he was trying to say his men fought a long and tough
battle. Percale then quoted, You must yourselves realize the power of Athens, and feed your eyes upon
her from day to day, till the love of her fills your hearts; and then when all her greatness shall break
upon you, you must reflect that it was by courage, sense of duty, and a keen feeling of honor in action
that men were enabled to win all this, and that no personal failure in an enterprise could make them
consent to deprive their country of their bravery except as a sacrifice of the most serious contribution
they could offer. Pericles was commanding his military men for doing their job duties and to get their
family wives, children, mothers and so on that the men fought for them. Then Pericles quoted,
Comfort, therefore, not condolence, is what I have to offer to the parents of the dead who may be here.
Pericles was trying to tell the men s loved one that they knew how to do there jobs and the were at
comfort and so should there

Hammurabi Family Law Dbq Essay
Hammurabi was the king of Babylonia around 4000 years ago. Hammurabi had a code of laws with
282 laws. He had 3 different types of laws, family laws, property laws, and personal injury laws.
These laws might seem just, but they are unjust. Family laws are laws related to family life. Family
law 129 states, If a married lady is caught adultery with another man, they shall bind them and cast
them into the water, (document c). Family law 195 claims that If a son has struck his father, his hands
shall be cut off, (document c). Some might claim that these laws are just but actually, they are unjust
because they are too harsh. For example law 129 is unfair because what if the man is single and it s
not his fault that the girl is caught adultery with him, and then the man has to die along with the
women for something that was the women s fault. Law 195 is unjust because what if the father did
something really bad to his son, and that s why the son struck his father, it would be unfair to cut off
the son s hands. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Property law 21 declares that If a man has broken through the wall to rob a house, they shall put him
to death and pierce him, or hang him in the hole in the wall which he has made, (document d).
Property law 48 states that If a man has borrowed money to plant his fields and a storm has flooded
his field or carried away the crop,... in that year he does not have to pay his creditor, (document d).
People often assume that these laws are just but they are unjust. Law 21 is unjust because killing
someone for stealing something small is too harsh. Maybe for a punishment for stealing a small item,
you could put them somewhere in jail. If the item was something valuable than that person should be
killed. Law 48 is unjust because if a storm kills the crops of the person who borrowed the money he
does not have to pay back the money to the creditor. This is unfair to the creditor because the creditor
loses

Western Classical And Classical Music
A plethora of sweet melodies flowing together into one cohesive song, sharps and flats bouncing off
one another like a child on a trampoline, and notes oozing so much legato you would assume the
pianist transformed into a robot. What genre exudes those characteristics? Western classical music.
Western classical music is broken down into six categories in order for it to be easily identifiable
chronologically. The six categories are the Middle Ages, the Renaissance, the Baroque Age, the
Classical Period, the Romantic Era, and the Twentieth Century. The earliest form of Western music
originates from the Medieval time period of c.1150 c.1400, and the most recent time period is the
music post from the Great War, which spans from 1920c. Present. It was during the Baroque Age, the
Classical Period, the Romantic Era, and the Twentieth Century that many of the famous composers,
whose songs are still recognized today composed pieces. The mark these impeccable composers left
on the world of music will forever be recognized, which is one of the reasons I applaud classical
music. I am impressed by Western classical music because of its depth, clarity, and variety.
First, Western classical music has an immense amount of depth. A pianist and composer from the
Classical Period such as, Wolfgang Mozart is particularly famous for adding layers upon layers of
melodies within his pieces. One of Mozart s most successful pieces, the piano sonata No. 14 in C
sharp minor Quasi una fantasia , Op.

The Love Song Of J Alfred Prufrock Essay
T.S Eliot wrote his poems in the modernist manner and was one of twentieth century major poets. His
famous works indicate the distortion of human society and also on the individual level and are
critically acclaimed over the world. This essay will discuss the comparison of the theme of human
society as a waste land in two of Eliot s famous works, The Love Song of J Alfred Prufrock and
Preludes . Although both the poem discusses the theme of human society as a waste land, the way in
which Eliot portrays the theme differs in the poems. The Love Song of J Alfred Prufrock subtly
implies the ideas of the aftermath of World War I and uses a single point of view that of Prufrock s to
indicate human society as a waste land. However, in Preludes ... Show more content on

These different views portray the idle ad infertile state of human society. Stanza I begin with the
description of a cold winter evening and the routine scenario such as burnt out ends of smoky days
(line 4), the grimy scrapes (line 6), withered leaves (line 7), newspapers from vacant lots (line 8),
through a third person omniscient point of view. All these description of the day and the street tells of
something that is dark, uncheerful and even still. These lines suggest the mundane scenario of a
society that has lost all its charms and liveliness. Then the point of view shifts to the second person
You . The third stanza gives a picture of a person who waits for someone else to come to a lonely bed
with hopes of something unreal. This has the suggestions to human lives where people wait for things
to become better and in the hope lose grip of their own lives. The lines 33 34, you have such a vision
of the street as the street hardly understands gives the reader the picture that the person on the bed
dreamt of the street of the street as it actually never will be, implying to hopes the human, as an
individual, has of how the society should be. Not cold, distorted and dead but lively, closely knit and
warm with emotions. It indirectly shows of how distorted human society had become as an effect of
the damage humans inflict on each other thus making the society a waste land. The

Four Corners Of The Gohonzon
The Four Corners of the Gohonzon With no particular reason I shall start my exploratory journey of
the Gohonzon from its four corners. Indeed, the structural soundness of any edifice rests on its corner
stone(s) does it not? The Four Heavenly Kings (四大天王) occupy the four corners of the Gohonzon.
Hindu tradition has portayed that they lived in the mid slopes of Mount Sumeru in four different
directions guarding the Buddha whilst the latter meditated against possible interference from evil
forces. They are revered as powerful protectors of Buddha and the Dharma. All four heavenly kings
serve Shakra, the lord of the Devas of Trāyastriṃśa. Popular folklore has it that on the 8th, 14th and

Impact Of The North American Free Trade Agreement
A free trade agreement is a treaty between two or more countries to establish a free trade range where
commerce in goods and services can be regulated across common borders, and without tariffs. An
extensively recognized trade agreement is the European Union. The European Union has been
advantageous by providing, safety, international mobility, employment mobility, residential mobility,
and tax options. However, free trade agreements are not always beneficial. This paper will illustrate
the negative impact of the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA) in the United States.
NAFTA is the first trade agreement that coalesced Mexico, Canada, and the United States. The new
law was signed by President Clinton on December 8, 1993, impending into effect on January 1, 1994.
NAFTA was implemented by the use of fast track. Fast track allowd Clinton to sign the agreement
before congress voted on it. It also guaranteed that the executive branch can write legislation not
subject to committee markup that would implement the pact and alter wide swaths of existing U.S.
law. In terms of the dictionary, Fast Track guarantees the House and the Senate vote on the bill within
90 days, with floor amendments forbidden and a maximum of 20 hours of debate. Since the
agreement, NAFTA has eliminated most if the non tariff and tariff barriers to increase free trade and
investment. NAFTA is regulated by various institutions that focus on the Agreement s rules being
implemented and

Accomplishments Of Al Capone
Al Capone
Conceived in 1899 in New York, to poor settler guardians, Al Capone went ahead to end up noticeably
the most notorious criminal in American history. In 1920 amid the prohibition heights, Capone s multi
million dollar Chicago undertakings in prostitution, betting and bootlegging ruled the sorted out
wrongdoing scene. Capone was in charge of numerous ruthless demonstrations of viciousness, mostly
against different criminals. St. Valentine s Day Massacre in 1929 was the most famous killings, in
which he requested the death of seven adversaries. Capone was never prosecuted for his racketeering
yet was, at last, conveyed to equity for money tax avoidance in 1931. After serving six and a half
years, Capone was discharged (Kobler, 2003). However, his death occurred in Miami in 1947. Capone
s life caught the general population creative ability, and his hoodlum persona has been deified in the
numerous books and movies propelled by his exploits. Additionally, this paper tries to give an outline
of Al Capone life, violations, and passing.
Capone Early Life
Al Capone was conceived in New York, Brooklyn and lived between (1899 1947). His parents were
Teresa Capone and Gabriele who were Italian immigrants. Similarly, Capone family had arrived in
America looking for greener pastures; His family carried on with an ordinary migrant way of life in a

The United States Army Air Service
The United States Army began its aviation heritage in the mid 1920 s as the United States Army Air
Service later turning into the United States Army Air Force. It was the aviation fighting force for the
Army until 1947 when the United States Air Force was created and the Army was no longer legally
allowed to conduct missions in the same manner as it did in World War II (WWII). It was in WWII
that the Army saw the potential of Vertical Lift, however it was too late to make any effect on the war.
The helicopter saw its first combat in the mountains and valleys of Korea. It was here that the Army

However with the success came shortcomings, simply bolting on weapons to the existing aircraft was
effective but proved to limit these new gunships airspeed and maneuverability. The upgraded UH 1s
had sufficient firepower but lacked the airspeed to keep up with the aircraft that they were supporting
and once engaged they had to remain oriented on the target to remain effective. This problem sparked
the attention of the engineers at Bell Helicopter who in 1962 began to design an entirely new aircraft.
Their work produced the D255 which was at the infancy stage of development and just a mock up.
Later the engineers produced a flying test bed called the model 207 or the OH 13X. The Army was
impressed with the idea of an all new dedicated attack helicopter and initiated the competition to
create the Advanced Aerial Fire Support System (AAFSS). In 1964 three companies competed for the
contract of the future production of the AAFSS. Bell Helicopter submitted the D209 utilizing a large
amount of common products to the UH 1 series of helicopter including the engine and rotor assembly.
Sikorsky Helicopter submitted the S 66 and Lockheed submitted the CL 840. Both of the competing
helicopters were equipped with pusher propellers and promised high speed and maneuverability
making it difficult for the Bell Helicopter company to compete on paper therefore eliminating them
from the race early on. Lockheed was selected the winner of the contest and

Compare And Contrast Republicans And Democrats
A house divided against itself cannot stand. Those were some very wise words spoken by Abraham
Lincoln in 1858. It s amazing how true it is today. The media is constantly at war. Republicans versus
Democrats. Conservatives versus Liberals. It never seems to stop! All of the ads advertising elections
aren t so much advertisements, but insulting the other. This person supports Obamacare or This person
raised taxes . It seems as if it never ends. Republicans and Democrats are very different. Conservative
Republicans support moral values such as traditional marriage, anti abortion, freedom of religion,

Homosexuality is a highly disturbing moral issue. There s a reason for the male gender, and the female
gender. They are supposed to come together as one flesh. I like to say that God made Adam and EVE,
not Adam and STEVE. Democrats also support abortion the gruesome murder of a fetus inside the
womb. I would love for a democrat to try and tell me that this doesn t sound like murder: The fetus
literally doubles in size between the 11th and 12th weeks of pregnancy. Soft cartilage hardens into
bone at 16 weeks, making the fetus too large and strong to pass through a suction tube. The D E
procedure begins by inserting laminaria a day or two before the abortion, opening the cervix wide to
accommodate the larger fetal size. The abortionist then both tears and cuts the fetus and uses the
vacuum machine to extract its remains. Because the skull is too large to be suctioned through the tube,
it must be crushed by forceps for removal. Pieces must be extracted very carefully because the jagged,
sharp pieces of the broken skull could easily

The Role Of Education In The Developing World
Education in the Developing World
Is education a basic human right? According to Article 26 of the United Nation s Universal
Declaration of Human Rights, yes. It states that everyone should have access to free primary education
and equal opportunity access to higher education. Unfortunately, in many places around the world,
access is limited either monetarily or governmentally, and even when it is available, a lack of
resources or a lack of proper educators can severely limit the quality of the education. As many as 115
million primary age children around the world are not currently in school, and of those who are in
school, over 226 million never attend secondary school. In some parts of Africa the literacy rate in
children is below fifty percent. Let s take a look at one developing country in particular, South Africa,
which is considered to have one of the worst education systems on the planet.
South Africa s education system is broken into three parts: elementary schooling, secondary schooling,
and tertiary schooling. According to the Organisation for Economic Co operation and Development,
only about seven percent of South Africans achieve tertiary schooling. As of 2013, South Africa
houses 25,720 schools for almost 12.5 million people. That s nearly one in four people in some form
of education. It makes sense, as primary schooling is required by law for children between the ages of
seven and fifteen. Yet of those who go to school twenty seven percent are still

The Health Care Delivery System
The health care delivery system can be overwhelming, but compare it to another country, this can
make it more confusing. Let s look further into Americas health care delivery system and let take a
look into the health care delivery system of Canada. I have always found Canada fascinating. I hope to
understand how they run their health care and maybe what can we do to our health care to improve it?
Canada s health care system, is a group of socialized health insurance plans that provides coverage to
Canadian citizens. It also publicly funds and administers on a provincial or territorial basis, with
guidelines set by the federal government. Canada implemented their health insurance, also known as
Medicare, in 1966. Medicare is made up of 13 health insurance plans. The majority of the financing
comes from the general tax revenues and the federal government provides a fixed amount that is not a
part of the actual expenditure. The total health care expenditure is made up of 70% health in the public
sector. Territorial and provincial departments of health have the responsibility to give medical
insurance plans, decide if there should be reimbursement for providers, and deliver certain public
health services. By law, all provinces are required to provide access to all medical services and to
provide an easy way to access benefits in each providence. All Canadian providences, expect Ontario,
have resorted to regionalization. This is done by creating administrative districts in

Virtual Schooling Is A Viable Entity For Educating Students
Virtual Schooling is a viable entity for educating students ranging from kindergarten to graduate
school. The benefits of virtual schooling are continuously being realized as additional avenues for
educating students. Additionally, having virtual schooling as a choice, rather than a requirement for all
classes, enables educational institutions to maintain and, in some cases, increase their retention and
graduation rates. Recent trends in school reporting data supporting the benefits of virtual schooling
prove that educating students through distance learning can provide significant benefits, including to

Today, online learning is used in the K 12 setting to provide courses the local school is unable to offer,
to benefit student scheduling, and to help learners with specific needs, including accelerated learners
as well as those who don t thrive in traditional classes. As virtual schooling increases and access to
technology grows, the areas of need that it addresses continue to expand.. There are several key steps
that must be addressed in order for successful virtual schooling to take place: Be realistic about
technology. Outdated computer labs are not going to support virtual schooling. Technology has to be
up to date in order to support the online learner, including computers and internet service. Programs
will not be able to run on computers with outdated browsers. Even if you have to bring in two to four
updated computers, that will at least give you a start. Prepare the students. Offer an orientation on
online learning skills. Virtual schooling requires a different type of skill set than traditional
classrooms. This includes comfort with the needed technology as well as soft skills such as time
management, independence, and self motivation. Students who lack or have never been introduced to
this skill set will not be successful in an online learning platform. Provide opportunities for
collaboration. Just because students are learning online doesn t mean they have to miss out on class

Summary Of Critical Thinking By Emily Dickinson
From another perspective. Sometimes lost, deep in thoughts, tough emotions and feelings. Sometimes
looking, staring, so strong, but again not watching anything. Sometimes imaging big dreams, big
things, but never finding anything in reality. Surrounded by same objects, life, people, big roads, big
decisions, choices. We, the people we are unique, we are a mosaic with rare, colorful pieces. The way
we live the life, enjoy the world, see the things, makes us who we are. In dark or light, confident or
not, walking or halting. Under the sun, warm and relieved; under the cold moon, mysterious, endless
sky, thinking in sadness. Often in reality; rarely in our mind. Every time, contemplating the miracles
of the nature, enjoying the infinite universe with just two finite eyes. Every creature that can see has a
power and all creatures have another one called vision.
Can we do without the windows of soul eyes?
Can we belong to the world of feelings and senses?
This question can have thousands of questions full of emotions. A diversity of thoughts for a theme
that raises contradictions. I think no, you think maybe, but what does Emily Dickinson think? What
does the blind poet that experiences the world from her room thinks? Some critics have used her life
to explain her poetry nevertheless others have tried to explain her life by referring to her poems, which
they think are autobiographical.

There is currently no cure for HIV. Although, the human immunodeficiency virus is treatable, there is
currently no vaccine available to prevent people from becoming infected by human immunodeficiency
virus. Once a person becomes infected with HIV, the virus will be in that person body for the rest of
their life. Research indicates that once a person becomes diagnose with HIV, denial, acute depression,
and anxiety are all forms of responses (Rubenstein, Sorrentino, 2008). In order to develop a good
treatment plan, one must consider the mental health, peer relationships, support system, family
relationships, intimate relationships, work, as well as the overall health of the patient in order to
develop an efficient treatment plan (Rubenstein, Sorrentino, 2008). A treatment plan that adequately
addresses the patients biopsychosocial needs is vital in order to treat the patient needs.
The human immunodeficiency virus is a serious infectious disease that can lead to death if left

Radiation and chemotherapy may only partially penetrate a tumor; remaining malignant tissue will
allow the cancer to reoccur within the patient. Incomplete tumor removal is a risk associated with
surgical removal of cancerous tissue.3 Additionally, studies have shown that radiation promotes
cancerous cell growth. Radiation promotes a cellular process known as autophagy, which supports
metabolic functions while a cell is living with some sort of environmental stress. Typically, the cell
will degrade longstanding organelles and proteins to recycle the molecular units of macromolecules.
This becomes an alternate source of nutrients during cell survival. Within a premalignant cell,
autophagy will prevent a cell from replicating if it is cancerous. Once the cell has become malignant,
it is living under environmentally stress induced by hypoxia and nutrient depletion. Malignant cells
are dependent of autophagy for survival, and radiation promotes autophagy; this, radiation promotes
cancer.4 Current cancer treatments have high risks of harsh side effects and a high probability of
reoccurring cancer. There is an urgent need for new anticancer therapies; compounds derived from the
natural products of bacteria and fungi have been investigated as a possible solution. The natural

No Clear Link Between TV Violence and Aggression Essay
No Clear Link Between Television Violence and Aggression
There is a great deal of speculation on the role of television violence in
childhood aggression. Research demonstrates there may be other intervening
variables causing aggression. These variables include IQ, social class, parental
punishment, parental aggression, hereditary, environmental, and modeling. With
all of these factors to taken into consideration it is difficult to determine a
causal relationship between television violence and aggression. It is my
hypothesis this relationship is bi directional violent television
causes aggressive behavior and aggressive people tend to watch more violent
television.

Subjects in the aggression condition reproduced a good deal of physical and
verbal aggressive behavior resembling that of the models. The data clearly
confirmed the prediction that exposure of subjects to aggressive models
increases the probability of aggressive behavior (Bandura et al. 1961). Another
study sought to determine the extent to which film mediated aggressive models
may serve as an important source of imitative behavior. Children were divided
and then exposed to four different aggression models. A real life aggression
condition, a human film aggression condition, a cartoon film aggression
condition, and a control group. The results showed that exposure to humans on
film portraying aggression was the most influential in eliciting aggressive
behavior. Subjects in this condition, in comparison to the control subjects,
exhibited more aggression and more imitative aggression. Subjects who viewed
the aggressive human and cartoon models on film exhibited almost twice as much
aggression as subjects in the control group. These results provide strong
evidence that exposure to filmed aggression heightens aggressive reactions in
children (Bandura et al. 1963a). These results add to the conclusion that
viewing violent television produces aggressive behavior.

books. Since this literature was written primarily during the first century C.E., it mirrors the formal
features of Hellenistic epistolary writing. Letter writing in Hellenism followed a stereotypical form:
The Epistles were generally written in the form of: 1) Opening or Prescript. This consists of three
parts; the author s name, the addressee s name, and a greeting. 2) Body. The purpose of the letter is
elaborated. 3) Closing. Usually consists of a final greeting. The letters expressed a relationship of
friendship between two parties and was to have a certain presence about it, substituting for the actual
presence of the writer. Thus, a person would write to someone as if he or she were present . To see this
format, the reader can review Philemon. The reader can see these points outlined. In Philemon:
Opening or Prescript v.1a Paul prisoner of Christ Jesus Timothy our brother. To Philemon, Apphia,
Archippus, house church. Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ
Body v8 10 appeal on behalf of Onesimus Conclusion: v22 prepare a guest room. In this example,
only three elements were pulled out to identify these three key elements. There are other elements

The founder of Home Depot opened two stores in Atlanta, Georgia the year of 1979, with a fruition
vision of one stop shopping for the do it yourselfer. Both stores square feet were 60,000 each with a
warehouse to stock 25,000 products, which were more than their competitors at that time and more
product than the average hardware stores. The Home Depot has 2,200 retail stores in the United States
as well as in other countries such as Canada and Mexico with an average of inside space of 105,000

According to Bond, in recent years Home Depot supply chain has been remodeled, which is a new
type of fulfilment of building a foundation center for shopping in store and online. Equally, their
supply chain has been restructured because of the recognition of customer value of inventory visibility
and online product research, all lead Home Depot to integrate the experience of shopping online or
inside the store. Regardless of how this restructure meet the customers, Home Depot transaction
processes is preferred to be looked at as a fulfillment, for instance, the network of distribution centers
for store replenishment was restructured to developed, deployed and a more recent fulfillment of

due to their recognition of their supply chain, the first phase, an in house replenishment was executes

mind, to attain the needed performances, products were automated order via Home Depot placing the

increased because Home Depot went to two centers such as the Stocking Distribution and Rapid

Theories Of Structuralism In Literature
Structuralism and its different approaches to literature Structuralism was developed in France in 1950
s as an approach of reading literary texts. Structuralism seeks to understand that no element can be
understood separately. It attempts to understand a work of art in the context of the larger structures
they are part of. Structuralism is a way of thinking and activities which is chiefly concerned with the
perceptions and descriptions of structures. In this regard, Terence Hawkes says:
The full significance of any entity cannot be perceived unless and until it is integrated into the surface
of which it forms a part.1
One can derive from Terence Hawkes view that structuralism would refer to a system or body of
principles which is derived from the belief that any phenomenon is a structure made up of ... Show

Griemas work Structural Semantic (1966) is an important work of structuralist narratology. He
develops structural semantics based on Saussaure s notion of binary opposition which he has called
structural semiotics. For Griemas there always exists opposition to generate meaning. He declares that
there are various sematic units that work in opposition. He called these as seme. And meaning comes
out in the opposition between semes, for example, old/young; black/white; boy/girl etc. These semes
function as actants (structural unit, neither a character nor a specific narrative event) to produce
narrative. Griemas semes are based on Saussurean notion that form the basic formula, the rules and
the underlying structure of language (langue). The semes express themselves as narrative and plots
and stories in contexts (parole). Thus the semes in different combinations are stated in particular
contexts to generate stories in particular contexts. In literary theory, the basic structure of the
production of meaning through binary opposition is called signification. We often find the dual
opposition or semes in a text or any piece of

Example Of An Object Speech On African Elephants

Object Speech
African Elephants What s animal is really big, gray, and is pregnant for 22 months? That s right
elephants, but how much do you really know about these animals. By the end of the of my speech I
hope that you will know more about the African elephant s physical appearance, diet, and the main
reasons they are now a threatened species. These extremely intelligent animals are every interesting
mammals. The average weights of a full grown African elephant is about 15,000lbs (male), and
7,700lbs (female). Their heights range from about 10 5 for males to 8 5 for females. They are

These trunks have about 100,000 muscles in them, which is what allows them to complete
extraordinary tasks, such as lifting tree trunks. This unique feature is also used for breathing,
trumping, and grabbing the next meal. Now that I have talked about the physical features of elephants,
I am going to talk about their diets. Elephants are herbivores. This mean that they are not meat eaters.
Their diet typically consist of plants, roots, fruits, and tree bark. According to the National
Geographic, an adult elephant can consume up to 300 pounds of food in a single day. This is about 55
times the amount the average human can eat in a day. In addition to the 300 pounds of food they eat,
an elephant can drink about 50 gallons of water in a single day. Because elephants eat and drink so
much throughout the day, they tend to not sleep as much as other animals. Since I have now explained
some of the unique physical features of African elephants and their diets, I am going to talk about the
main reason African elephants are becoming a threatened species. A threatened species is one that
could become extinct in the near future. The main reason for

concretized in the form of Bilasia, the Bhil woman whom he finds an ideal combination of Otherness
and the Self. Bilasia s exotic Otherness is clearly seen in her untamed beauty , her promiscuity and her
obvious difference from the respectable wife, Meena. Yet, how is Bilasia an ideal other for Billy
Biswas, the upper class Hindu? Perhaps this may be explained by the way tribals have generally been
viewed as peripheral communities within the dominant Hindu fold. So while recognizing the tribal
Otherness, the Hindu view also makes them accessible. Moreover, Bilasia has beauty albeit an
untamed one and she belongs to the Bhil community, which has traditionally been seen as possessing
many Rajput qualities, like valour, nobility etc. Incidentally, one may compare the account of Billy s

In Julien and my Vine, we wanted to show how Malvolio s by the book lifestyle and his love for
Olivia led to his humiliation. At the start of the Vine, we put a picture of a man, Malvolio, looking
longingly at a woman, Olivia. Throughout the play we have seen Malvolio s apparent love and care
for Olivia and her household. We continued with Malvolio s other attempt at recognition, including
the yellow stockings, the smiling, his serious attitude, his rejection of love, his sense of order, and
finally, his want for loved. All these attempts to obtain Olivia s recognition are potential causes for his

From the first act to the final scene of the play we can see the apparent love Malvolio has for Olivia.

External Environment Of The Brewing Industry
Introduction
This report will examine the external environment of the brewing industry using a PESTEL analysis
and the internal capabilities of ABInBev using a value chain analysis in order to determine how the
firm appears to compete. Following this, strategies for improving the competitive position of the
company will be outlined.
ABInBev is a multinational beverage and brewing company based in Belgium. It is the largest brewer
in the world with a 20.8% market share (Statista, 2016) and is also one of the world s top five
consumer goods companies.
Figure 1: Market share by volume (Statista, 2016)
The brewing industry is interesting to examine due to its relatively unique structure. Up until
November 2015, the market was dominated by four main players, known informally as the Big Four .
AB InBev was the largest, followed by SABMiller, Heineken and Carlsberg. In November 2015,
however, ABInBev and SABMiller agreed a formal $107 billion takeover deal, combining the brewers
into a company which industry experts claim would control around half of the industry s profits
(Mickle, 2015). As a result of the sheer size and complexity of the merger, it is anticipated that the
deal will not be finalised until the second half of 2016 as ABInBev must negotiate with anti trust
regulators around the world with respect to their potential monopolistic position. As the deal is yet to
be completed, this report will analyse ABInBev independent of SABMiller.

Perception is shaped by learning, memorizing, expectation and attention.
Perception involves these top down effects as well as the bottom up process of processing sensory
input. The bottom up processing transfers the low level information to higher level information
(extracts shapes for object recognition) the top down processing refers to a person s concept and
expectations (knowledge) and selective mechanisms that influence perception. Perception includes all
those process by which an individual receive information about his environment like seeing, hearing,
feeling, tasting, and smelling etc.
Perception is the process of interpreting the messages of our senses to provide order and meaning to
the environment. Among the most important perceptions that influence organizational behavior are the
perceptions that organizational members have of each other.
COMPONENTS OF PERCEPTION
Perception has three components a perceiver, a target that is being perceived, and some situational
context in which the perception is occurring.

Newspaper Source. Web. 18 Nov. 2015.
In this article, Radka Minarechová addresses the growing challenges associated with the fastest aging
population in one of the European Union countries, known as Slovakia. As the elderly population
increased, the productive working age deceased, which caused the country to suffer greatly based on
their involvement in employment, society, independent living and aging prevention. It becomes clear
that the country was not prepared to solve problems dealing with aging. As a result, it is shown that
discrimination towards the elderly by the others within the population is discovered within specific
areas such as health care and employment. With the retirement age at 62, the more individuals
requesting for pensions, the greater the effect on the contribution to the funds necessary for the benefit
of the recipient, especially healthcare. The subject of aging is highly relevant to Zimmerman s article.
The need to improve the aging phases every individual experiences is a serious issue that can be
resolved or reduced. Although Minarechová s argument does not focus directly on the health concerns
dealing with aging, but the author touched the important subject of how it can affect our population
rather than benefit us as a society. Not only is the topic relevant to Zimmerman s argument but it was
written around the same time. Therefore, there is a high

Association between Air Polluiton and Lung Cancer
Many epidemiologic studies have found an association between ambient air pollution and lung cancer.
This evidence lead the International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC) to report air pollution as
a category 1 or definite cause of cancer. The IARC reviewed over 1000 studies from five continents
and covering many different scientific fields. They concluded that air pollution is linked to increased
cancer incidence, with lung cancer being the most prevalent (Pope, 2013).
Air pollution occurs when the air is contaminated by foreign substances. These substances can be
liquid or solid and they are small enough that they remain suspended in the air. Some of the substances
can be toxic chemicals which can include sulphur dioxide (SO2), oxides of nitrogen (NOx), ozone
(O3), volatile organic compounds and suspended particulate matter (PM).
When talking about air pollution we categorize the particles with the term particulate matter (PM).
Suspended particulate matter (PM) is divided into three groups based on the diameter of the particle.
PM2.5 refers to particles with a diameter less that 2.5 micrometers (µm), PM10 classifies particles
with a diameter between 2.5 and 10 µm, and PM10 defines particles with a diameter greater than 10
µm. The relative risk of developing cancer as a result of exposure to air pollution is generally small,
but the attributable risk (relative risk multiplied by the number of exposed people) is high. Because
exposure is so high ambient air pollution

The MLB is just a giant business. How can you see it otherwise? Steroids in baseball have changed
dramatically over the past ten years and a major factor impacting the changes may be players use of

Bloodstain Pattern Paper
When bloodstain pattern analysts are analyzing bloodstains, there are several factors that they must
take into consideration. Surface tension and texture are some of these factors that must be observed
when examining bloodstain patterns. Surface tension is a property of a liquid that is responsible for the
attraction between the molecules of the liquid and makes it contract and assume the smallest possible
shape. (J Slemko Forensic Consulting Inc, page) . When blood hits a hard smooth surface, surface
tension causes the blood drops to hold together and appear circular.

extent it is not a good idea for us to spend money on defending ourselves from imaginary enemies. We
spend significant sums of money preparing for wars that we later create and ignore the needs of our
own country. There are also other important sectors which needs to develop to bring economic growth.
It should be much better to spent in areas such as social welfare, health, and education. We do not
need such a massive, sprawling military policing for the entire world to be safe.. There should be
equivalent expenditure on military and wars as well as on education and healthcare for the
development of country.

Lone Ranger And Tonto Fistfight In Heaven Analysis
Lone Ranger and Tonto FistFight in Heaven On a sunny, warm spring day in May, how does a high
school teacher grab students attention? Dreams, sex,and humor will intrigue some but add in the idea
of analyzing a person or character s psyche and even more eyes perk up. Student begin questioning,
how do dreams reveal a person s unconscious thoughts? They ponder: when friends are joking around,
it is to be funny or is there more too it? Students consider what type of argument can be formed is
support or defense of why young children make humorous and sexual comments. Some answers can
be discovered by examining literature through psychoanalysis. In fact, Freudian psychoanalysis,
especially of literature, reveals as much about characters as it does about real people and society in
general. When analyzing literature, Sherman Alexie, a critically acclaimed, novelist and poet provides
a humorous and honest insight into Native American culture and the challenges of assimilating into

of society. Looking through

Massage Therapy Marijuana Infused Lotion for Massage Therapy Massage therapy has been utilized
for thousands of years as a form of medical care. The origins began around India and spread east to
what is now China. Its uses were understood as a form of healing of muscles, joints, and ligaments. Its
ability to decrease the healing time required for injuries and other ailments is what makes massage
therapy beneficial. Due to this, the practice is rapidly growing around the world, especially within the

even covered by medical insurance by a few clinics. Added to the physical benefits of massage is the
effect it has on the human mind. It ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
I believe, the annual wage could increase by using infused lotions as clientele would likely need to
return half as much. This can occur due to the infused lotions ability to extend the pain relief provided
by massage and THC. Clients would visit massage clinics less, which would enable the therapist to
demand more for the same treatment. As an example, a routine client visits twice a week for pain
treatment, if the infused lotion is used, they may be able to cut down to one visit a week or once every
two weeks. Thus, the demand for this treatment will increase enabling higher charges. This would also
enhance the number of clients able to be seen by the therapist expanding clientele and profits; supply

The purpose of this document was for Pericles to deliver a funeral speech and praise his city at the same time. The main two points of Pericles was trying to get across was how his city was ran and how tough his men fought in the war. Pericles knew he city was unique and different and wasn t a follower he said, Our constitution does not copy the laws of neighboring states; we are rather a model for others than imitators ourselves. This meant they had there own laws and did not follow neighboring city s laws. Pericles said, The freedom we enjoy in our government extends also to our private life. His meaning was to comment on the war and how he was trying to say his men fought a long and tough battle. Percale then quoted, You must yourselves realize the power of Athens, and feed your eyes upon her from day to day, till the love of her fills your hearts; and then when all her greatness shall break upon you, you must reflect that it was by courage, sense of duty, and a keen feeling of honor in action that men were enabled to win all this, and that no personal failure in an enterprise could make them consent to deprive their country of their bravery except as a sacrifice of the most serious contribution they could offer. Pericles was commanding his military men for doing their job duties and to get their family wives, children, mothers and so on that the men fought for them. • 3. Hammurabi Family Law Dbq Essay Hammurabi was the king of Babylonia around 4000 years ago. Hammurabi had a code of laws with 282 laws. He had 3 different types of laws, family laws, property laws, and personal injury laws. These laws might seem just, but they are unjust. Family laws are laws related to family life. Family law 129 states, If a married lady is caught adultery with another man, they shall bind them and cast them into the water, (document c). Family law 195 claims that If a son has struck his father, his hands shall be cut off, (document c). Some might claim that these laws are just but actually, they are unjust because they are too harsh. For example law 129 is unfair because what if the man is single and it s not his fault that the girl is caught adultery with him, and then the man has to die along with the women for something that was the women s fault. Law 195 is unjust because what if the father did something really bad to his son, and that s why the son struck his father, it would be unfair to cut off the son s hands. ... People often assume that these laws are just but they are unjust. Law 21 is unjust because killing someone for stealing something small is too harsh. Maybe for a punishment for stealing a small item, you could put them somewhere in jail. If the item was something valuable than that person should be killed. Law 48 is unjust because if a storm kills the crops of the person who borrowed the money he does not have to pay back the money to the creditor. • 4. Western Classical And Classical Music A plethora of sweet melodies flowing together into one cohesive song, sharps and flats bouncing off one another like a child on a trampoline, and notes oozing so much legato you would assume the pianist transformed into a robot. What genre exudes those characteristics? Western classical music. Western classical music is broken down into six categories in order for it to be easily identifiable chronologically. The six categories are the Middle Ages, the Renaissance, the Baroque Age, the Classical Period, the Romantic Era, and the Twentieth Century. The earliest form of Western music originates from the Medieval time period of c.1150 c.1400, and the most recent time period is the music post from the Great War, which spans from 1920c. Present. It was during the Baroque Age, the Classical Period, the Romantic Era, and the Twentieth Century that many of the famous composers, whose songs are still recognized today composed pieces. The mark these impeccable composers left on the world of music will forever be recognized, which is one of the reasons I applaud classical music. I am impressed by Western classical music because of its depth, clarity, and variety. First, Western classical music has an immense amount of depth. A pianist and composer from the Classical Period such as, Wolfgang Mozart is particularly famous for adding layers upon layers of melodies within his pieces. His famous works indicate the distortion of human society and also on the individual level and are critically acclaimed over the world. This essay will discuss the comparison of the theme of human society as a waste land in two of Eliot s famous works, The Love Song of J Alfred Prufrock and Preludes . Although both the poem discusses the theme of human society as a waste land, the way in which Eliot portrays the theme differs in the poems. All these description of the day and the street tells of something that is dark, uncheerful and even still. These lines suggest the mundane scenario of a society that has lost all its charms and liveliness. Then the point of view shifts to the second person You . The third stanza gives a picture of a person who waits for someone else to come to a lonely bed with hopes of something unreal. This has the suggestions to human lives where people wait for things to become better and in the hope lose grip of their own lives. The lines 33 34, you have such a vision of the street as the street hardly understands gives the reader the picture that the person on the bed dreamt of the street of the street as it actually never will be, implying to hopes the human, as an individual, has of how the society should be. Letter writing in Hellenism followed a stereotypical form: The Epistles were generally written in the form of: 1) Opening or Prescript. This consists of three parts; the author s name, the addressee s name, and a greeting. 2) Body. The purpose of the letter is elaborated. 3) Closing. Usually consists of a final greeting. • 23. Theories Of Structuralism In Literature Structuralism and its different approaches to literature Structuralism was developed in France in 1950 s as an approach of reading literary texts. Structuralism seeks to understand that no element can be understood separately. It attempts to understand a work of art in the context of the larger structures they are part of. Structuralism is a way of thinking and activities which is chiefly concerned with the perceptions and descriptions of structures. In this regard, Terence Hawkes says: The full significance of any entity cannot be perceived unless and until it is integrated into the surface of which it forms a part.1 One can derive from Terence Hawkes view that structuralism would refer to a system or body of principles which is derived from the belief that any phenomenon is a structure made up of ... He develops structural semantics based on Saussaure s notion of binary opposition which he has called structural semiotics. For Griemas there always exists opposition to generate meaning. He declares that there are various sematic units that work in opposition. He called these as seme. And meaning comes out in the opposition between semes, for example, old/young; black/white; boy/girl etc. These semes function as actants (structural unit, neither a character nor a specific narrative event) to produce narrative. Griemas semes are based on Saussurean notion that form the basic formula, the rules and the underlying structure of language (langue). The semes express themselves as narrative and plots and stories in contexts (parole). Thus the semes in different combinations are stated in particular contexts to generate stories in particular contexts. In literary theory, the basic structure of the production of meaning through binary opposition is called signification. We often find the dual opposition or semes in a text or any piece of ... (p.93) This vague image is later concretized in the form of Bilasia, the Bhil woman whom he finds an ideal combination of Otherness and the Self. Bilasia s exotic Otherness is clearly seen in her untamed beauty , her promiscuity and her obvious difference from the respectable wife, Meena. Yet, how is Bilasia an ideal other for Billy Biswas, the upper class Hindu? Perhaps this may be explained by the way tribals have generally been viewed as peripheral communities within the dominant Hindu fold. So while recognizing the tribal Otherness, the Hindu view also makes them accessible. Moreover, Bilasia has beauty albeit an untamed one and she belongs to the Bhil community, which has traditionally been seen as possessing many Rajput qualities, like valour, nobility etc. Incidentally, one may compare the account of Billy s life with that of Verrier Elwin, an Englishman who came to India as a Christian missionary in 1927. A few years later, varrier Elwin voluntarily gave up his ministry and decided to devote himself to the tribal people of India. He started living in the Chhattisgarh area, along with Shamrao Hivale. Following this, strategies for improving the competitive position of the company will be outlined. ABInBev is a multinational beverage and brewing company based in Belgium. It is the largest brewer in the world with a 20.8% market share (Statista, 2016) and is also one of the world s top five consumer goods companies. Figure 1: Market share by volume (Statista, 2016) The brewing industry is interesting to examine due to its relatively unique structure. Up until November 2015, the market was dominated by four main players, known informally as the Big Four . AB InBev was the largest, followed by SABMiller, Heineken and Carlsberg. In November 2015, however, ABInBev and SABMiller agreed a formal $107 billion takeover deal, combining the brewers into a company which industry experts claim would control around half of the industry s profits (Mickle, 2015). • 35. Association between Air Polluiton and Lung Cancer Many epidemiologic studies have found an association between ambient air pollution and lung cancer. This evidence lead the International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC) to report air pollution as a category 1 or definite cause of cancer. The IARC reviewed over 1000 studies from five continents and covering many different scientific fields. They concluded that air pollution is linked to increased cancer incidence, with lung cancer being the most prevalent (Pope, 2013). Air pollution occurs when the air is contaminated by foreign substances. These substances can be liquid or solid and they are small enough that they remain suspended in the air. Some of the substances can be toxic chemicals which can include sulphur dioxide (SO2), oxides of nitrogen (NOx), ozone (O3), volatile organic compounds and suspended particulate matter (PM). When talking about air pollution we categorize the particles with the term particulate matter (PM). Suspended particulate matter (PM) is divided into three groups based on the diameter of the particle. PM2.5 refers to particles with a diameter less that 2.5 micrometers (µm), PM10 classifies particles with a diameter between 2.5 and 10 µm, and PM10 defines particles with a diameter greater than 10 µm. The relative risk of developing cancer as a result of exposure to air pollution is generally small, but the attributable risk (relative risk multiplied by the number of exposed people) is high.
