Henry Ford s Invention Of The Assembly Line
Have you ever thought about what life would be like without the invention of the production line? One
person was able to change history by mass producing cars. Henry Ford s childhood were spent
farming fixing clocks. As an adult went on to be a successful businessman and accomplish great
strides with his invention of the assembly line.
Let s take a look at Henry Ford s childhood. Henry Ford was born july 30 1863 in dearborn michigan
to Mary and William Ford. He showed great leadership skills at a low age for example him and the
neighbors built a steam motor. At age 12 his father gave a watch to him he took it apart and put it back
together he went to school at sesting elemantary were he went on field to a engineer museum and that

Fusion And Hybrid Electric Vehicle
Three model years passed by and I finally got behind the wheel again of a Ford Fusion. Just like the
last time, this model was the Fusion Energi, a plug in hybrid electric vehicle based on Ford s popular
midsize car. Now in its fifth model year, the 2017 Fusion Energi is a close match to the standard
hybrid model as well as to the gasoline version. Besides the electric charging port located just ahead of
the driver s door, the other differences have to do with badging you ll find Fusion Energi markups on
the exterior as well as inside the sedan. And that s a good thing too the Fusion is already an attractive
model and no styling differentiation is warranted. Some manufacturers opt for silly looking grilles or
other embellishments to distinguish gas and hybrid models. On the other hand, it seems Ford decided
that a near uniform look for all Fusion models is entirely sufficient. 2017 Ford Fusion Energi Platinum
The 2017 version welcomes a third trim level, Platinum, joining the SE and Titanium editions. Also
new this year is the grille, exterior LED lighting, and SYNC 3 infotainment system. All models now
come with an 11 speaker audio system and a new rotary transmission selector. What hasn t changed is
the 2.0 liter, four cylinder engine powering this model nor the permanent magnet AC synchronous
electric motor or the lithium ion battery. Also present is an electronically controlled continuously
variable transmission to turn the front wheels. Selling hybrids is a

An Examination of Cardiovascular Disease
Heart Disease:
An Examination
Heart or cardiovascular disease is an umbrella term utilized for various diseases that can affect one s
heart. As with any disease, there are certain factors that can exacerbate the onset and continuation of
this disease. For this reason, the paper below will analyze heart disease in detail and describe the
specific population that is prone to being affected by this disease, as well as what this population can
do to help alleviate the harmful effects of heart disease. In order to understand heart disease, one must
understand that there are many diseases that relate to this broad term. According to the Mayo Clinic,
Heart disease is a broad term used to describe a range of diseases that affect your heart. The various
diseases that fall under the umbrella of heart disease include diseases of [ å›  blood vessels, such as
coronary artery disease; heart rhythm problems (arrhythmias); heart infections; and heart defects [one
is] born with (congenital heart defects).
Due to the fact that there are so many various diseases connected to heart disease, it is truly quite
difficult to single out one population to be examined. However, what is known about heart disease is
that despite the fact that it can affect just about anyone, older males, especially in the African
American, Native American and Mexican American population are most at risk. The paper will,
therefore, focus on this population.
There are many factors that make this particular

How Reliance Will Get Fit Into The Japanese Culture
How Reliance Will Get Fit Into the Japanese Culture
John Huddle
19 October 2014
Abstract
This paper explores about the cultural differences between Japanese culture and Indian culture and
how Reliance industries deal with Japanese cultural values while doing business in Japan. This study
also reveals company s market, pricing and positioning strategies.
Culture at Reliance Industries
Reliance group has a vision of becoming the top integrated and the world s largest power company.
Company is building some of the biggest power plants in the shortest time periods throughout the
country. The company hardly believe in their employees and realize that the company will remain
incomplete without their employees therefore company invest first in them before investing in the
business. Reliance is also constantly exploring options to add to its capacities in existing business
operations (RIL Introduction, 2006). Reliance group has an excellent work culture and this would be
considered by the Japanese because the majority of the Japanese companies always strive to develop
extraordinary people and teams who follow their company s philosophy. However Reliance industries
will enter into the Japanese market with good business policies but there are lots of differences
between Indian work culture and Japanese work culture which the company will consider while doing
business in Japan.

Twelfth Night Duality
In Act 1, Scene 2 of Twelfth Night, as Viola lays down her plans before the captain, she speaks about a
major theme of the play: the way a person seems outwardly versus their true self. Viola says she is
aware people cannot be trusted based on their looks, but trusts the captain. She then requests his help
so she can be dressed as a boy for the remainder of the play. The way she behaves also hits on another
theme, the contrast between people that can act as a balance. Through comparison, she can be seen as
a counterbalance to Sebastian in the way they both conduct themselves. The majority of the characters
have a twin of their own to act as a sort of foil. Exploring this passage (1.2.96 108) will help see the
double themes of duality that ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
As if extending the idea of the twins, Viola and Sebastian, nearly everyone seems to have their
complementary twin. As mentioned earlier, Viola takes charge and makes her own plans while
Sebastian seems to operate on whims. There is also a difference in their outlooks. Viola is easily
assured that her brother may still be alive, while Sebastian is certain his sister is dead. Olivia and
Orsino also act as the counterbalance to one another. While both are absorbed in their own melancholy
moods, Orsino does it for the love he desires and Olivia does it for loved ones she s lost. Despite their
opposing approaches towards wooing, they both end up with a love of their own. Another interesting
counterbalance is between the captain and Antonio. The captain saved Viola, but after accepting
money to help her, he went his separate way, never expressing feelings for her. In contrast, Antonio
rescued Sebastian, then gave him money and followed him, all the while expressing love for him.
Then there is Sir Toby and Malvolio, perhaps two of the most evident opposites in the play because of
the way Malvolio actively opposes Sir Toby. Malvolio is somber and serious. He wants people to
respect him and kisses up to Olivia. Sir Toby, however, is more of a clown than Feste, staying up to all
hours of the night, drinking and carelessly waking the house with his singing. Malvolio does what he
can to seem above his station, but Sir Toby does not worry what others think and often seems below
his station. Though, with a character like Malvolio, finding people to be his opposite is no chore; Feste
and Maria could also work to contrast with him, but Malvolio and Sir Toby s hatred of each other do
seem most

The Importance Of Sin In The Crucible
Puritans want to purify the world and destroy sin that goes around in it. They broke off from the
Roman Catholic Church, for they had separate beliefs and felt mistreated. Their beliefs included many
of the same ideals of a catholic, but they took those ideals to an extreme. They believed that sinning
had something to do with the devil controlling the human body. The Puritans strongly believed that
lying to others was an ultimate sin, and they were to only tell the truth. Moreover, God didn t
appreciate his followers to lie. In the Crucible, Elizabeth was in the wrong for lying about his lechery,
because lying is against her religion, and once John confessed, there wasn t much Elizabeth could ve
done for John except tell the truth. She was also known to be a truthful person, so she shouldn t have
lied and sticked with what she knew, consciously, was right.
Again, lying to the court about lechery was the wrong decision; furthermore, Elizabeth went against
her religion, and made John seem like a liar. Due to John accusing Abigail of lying, once Elizabeth
lied about the lechery, it made his accusation sound like a lie. Danforth explains to Abigail, But
likewise, children, the law and bible damn all bearers of false witness (Crucible. 3. 614 616). Danforth
explains in court that lying is not called for, nor is it welcomed in court and religion. Danforth says
this because he can then connect law to religion as a church and state collaboration. Danforth tries to

wanted to expand their knowledge and ideas. Some of these things have affected other civilizations

Many civilizations made accomplishments in farming but the Tang s accomplishments were very
important. One of the biggest advancements in farming was the three field system. The three field
system was a system in the Tang dynasty where everyone gets enough arable land to farm and produce
food for themselves. This was important because it allowed every family to have a food and it
prevented the very wealthy people from buying up all of the land. In other dynasties and empires, rich
people buying all of the land was a major problem. The Tang wanted to avoid this because they knew
the outcome of having a rich people controlling all of the farming land. The middle class and poor
people wouldn t be able to live and the economy would be very bad. This system gave people land
according to their needs. For example, older people and widows got less land than a man with a
family. (Theobald, 2015) Every adult male was allowed eighty mu, which was a measurement of land,
old and sick people were allowed forty mu, widows received thirty mu, and lower class merchants and
craftsmen got ten mu. This system benefited the economy because since everyone had enough food,
they could specialize in their own crafts like blacksmithing and art. Another benefit from the food
surplus that this system brought is that the government found a new strain of rice that grew much
quicker and was less work to grow. This gave the Tang an

Followership And Leadership Of General Schwarzkopf
Followership and Leadership of General Schwarzkopf
Introduction General Norman Schwarzkopf had a long lasting career in the United States Army as a
follower and a leader. Schwarzkopf s Army career began with experiencing the Vietnam War, Cold
War and eventually commanding the US Central Command (CENTCOM) during Operation Desert
Storm and Desert Shield. His ability as a follower and leader influenced multiple layers of personnel
in executing military operations, and fostering affiliations amongst the military leadership in the fog of
war. This paper will focus on followership and leadership of General Schwarzkopf successful Army
career particular that of Operation Desert Storm and Desert Shield.
General Schwarzkopf s Military Career
General H. Norman Schwarzkopf, U.S. Army was taught in Tehran, Geneva and Frankfurt beforehand
to his appointment in West Point to endure a mechanical engineering degree (Martin Naval War
College, 1998). Schwarzkopf was commissioned to the grade of Second Lieutenant upon completion
of West Point and an ordered to Berlin in1960 which commenced his prosperous profession in the
Army (Martin Naval War College, 1998). During Vietnam he finished two tours and served as an
adviser along side South Vietnamese paratroopers and ultimately a battalion commander (Martin
Naval War College, 1998). General Schwarzkopf s flourishing accomplishment was for his leadership

Macrophages Lab Report
Macrophages are cells that participate in the immune response when there is an infection.
Macrophages are phagocytes that can modify themselves in order to fight off various invaders; thus,
they are involved in the first line of defense (Mandal). Macrophages are able to partake in the immune
response with the help of cytokines. LPS is a gram negative bacteria cell wall component known to
stimulate diverse cytokines such as interleukin 1 (IL 1), IL 6 and tumor necrosis factor alpha (TNF α)
from macrophages (Buckley 31). Garlic is also known to be an immune modulator (Buckley 31). In
this experiment, the cytokine gene expression from macrophages treated with LPS and garlic was used
to determine gene expression.
Using the female, J774A.1 cells and the male RAW264.7cells, total RNA was extracted from treated
macrophages. Using a Spectrophotometer, absorbances were measured at three readings: 230nm,
260nm, and 280nm. At 260 nm, the nucleic acid concentration, at 230nm, the organic molecules
(contaminants), and at 280nm, we tested the protein concentration (Layne E, 1957).

response of cytokine production than the garlic and both LPS and garlic cells. In the IL 1b (fig 3D)
treated with TNF α, cytokine production increased when the LPS and garlic was combined for the
J774A.1 cells. The difference in trends could have been caused by the gender from which the cells
originated, which was likely due to the different hormones released in each mouse cell. Thus, garlic
suppressed the production of 1L 1B, IL 6, and IL 12 in both male and female cells. However, garlic
did enhance only the J774A.1 cell s production of TNF α, which would cause apoptosis of the

Small Scale Tummy Tuck
What is a small scale tummy tuck? Authoritatively called a halfway abdominoplasty, a smaller than
usual tummy tuck just expels undesirable skin and fat from the territory underneath the navel. This
kind of strategy has generously expanded in notoriety. A full tummy tuck, by complexity expels skin
and fat from the whole stomach region. A small scale tummy tuck is a decent choice if there is not a
considerable measure of overabundance skin to expel, and the patient is keen on minimizing a
protruding lower stomach area.
After pregnancy, the lower abs, or rectus abdominus muscles are extended and the laxity may remain,
stressing a lower stomach swell. The smaller than expected tummy tuck is a famous alternative for
ladies trying to come back

Muly Graves In The Grapes Of Wrath
Introduced in chapter six of Grapes of Wrath by John Steinbeck, Muley Graves is a multi faceted
character who remains as the sole, original farmer in the area that Joad s family lived. The name
Muley Graves is carefully chosen by Steinbeck for it embodies the persona and thematic messages
Merely presents to the reader. Instead of leaving with the rest of the town, Muley remains and he
thinks of himself as a damn ol graveyard ghos (51) who wanders the vacated premises. Hence, this is
metaphorical to the abandoned homes and lives of the farmers when they left, which essentially
caused a graveyard to form. When Muely goes to neighbors houses in the night, (52) he considers

Reflection Paper About Self
Out of all of the topics that we went over in over the course of the Sister to Sister class, the one that
resonated with and still resonates with me the most would have to be the theme of self. This is simply
because you cannot even begin to form a sense of community or delve into higher education
successfully without a keen awareness of self. This phenomenon is stated beautifully with, an ongoing
commitment to developing the self is paramount to the establishment of an identity that is centered
and grounded (King, T. C., Ferguson, S. A 2). The ongoing aspects of this are stressed because as

I have felt myself being the token friend speaking out about all things controversial in groups of white
friends, I have made myself seem more or less black depending on the situation, I have silenced
myself in classrooms, and I have sighed in relief in circles of my black friends. I read an article that I
saw on Twitter basically detailing a woman s experience as a black woman attending a PWI, and I
could relate to it all. It spoke about white people being so privileged that they do not move out of the
way for or hold doors open for black women, and it is true. We accept our mistreatment on campus to
an extent and have the mutual understanding that we will receive that college degree, and use to better
ourselves and our people with or without the school s support but of course, going about our college
education like this has adverse effects (McKinney 2016). On a campus where only four percent of the
population looks like you, I find it nearly impossible to not shift myself at least a little bit because I
often feel uncomfortable. We are micro aggressed daily and are expected to have that not affect us; we
are supposed to remain strong, which brings me to the issues with the idea of the black superwoman. I
had never seen the superwoman archetype as an issue previously; I thought it was beautiful,
empowering, and showed us just how strong that we can be. The issue with this though lies in the fact

Firestone s An Civil War
Firestone, a tire production company, who owns a base in Liberia got into a predicament on morality
issues. The controversy was over whether or not it was right to continue deploying their workers to
Liberia after war crimes were committed there. During the time Firestone started up its operation of
rubber collecting in Liberia, an ongoing civil war between a rebel force led by Charles Taylor and the
Liberian president at the time, Samuel Doe, interfered with their operation. At first the company had
withdrawn from the crossfire of the war, but soon realized they needed to return due to Firestone s
financial decline. When returning, the tire company had to work under Taylor s stringent rules that
resulted in issues such as the safety of their workers at the Firestone plantation and the exploitation of
workers. The problem with this was that Firestone s primary intention was to return and make a profit,
not taking the lives and opinions of their workers into consideration. Firestone s action was immoral
leading to accepting the abuse and exploitation of their workers on the necessity of making a profit.
Firestone s decision to return back to Liberia after leaving it for the first time was an iniquitous move
on their behalf. Not only did they work under Taylor s imposed rules leading to cruel treatment of
their workers, but had also signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Taylor. This agreement
allowed for Firestone to work in Liberia but in a secret business partnership

The Influence Of Reality Television
Reality Television Educates Television has had an impact on our lives, bringing new information that
we probably haven t heard of before. It informs the viewers of lives of people who struggle with
themselves and shows the viewers how to solve them. Reality helps more people than does harm
because it educates on certain people s lives that need some educating on. These shows are improving
young audiences knowledge by spreading positive messages through blunt situations. For families, the
most viewed type of television is reality TV. The straight forward situations in the lives of the stars
show a perspective that presents a problem which is then solved by the end of the episode. When
people complain that there are fewer good tv shows for families to watch together, it s often assumed
that TV has become more vulgar and adult... TV has become more various and fragmented, it s
become more specific (James Poniewozik). Television has a certain group they want to target and that
has a message spreading positive awareness. Reality TV teaches the younger viewers on how to
handle life situations and the life of others that they might not know about. These messages inspire the
other party positively and develops more knowledge for the younger people. The spark of confidence
in the younger crowd is mainly from reality TV. Girls who watch reality tv ... thinking of themselves

The purpose of this thesis showed the usage of CRM in business to Business firms. For understand,

and created additional value for both their customers and themselves during the 80 s.
During the 90 s firms realized that customers do not solely interact with the marketing department, but

This was the end of Relationship Management, but with the introduction of more advance

View Of Death In Religion
Many religions have strong opinions about death since most religions believe in reincarnation, heaven
or hell or an afterlife. Because of this, it is interesting to focus on different religions and their view of
death. Therefore, four religions (Christianity, Islam, Hinduism and Buddhism) were chosen for the
focus of my 2 arguments.
Recall from the reading, Socrates stated death is the separation of the body and soul. Therefore, is
death viewed as the separation of soul and body among different religions? According to Christianity,
death is viewed as departure of home (body) and being in the presence of the Lord (soul), as well as in
the presence of other believing loved ones. When looking at the Islamic viewpoint of death, death is
merely a movement from one world to another, such as a journey through a different dimension of
existence. This is similar to the description of forms and how the soul leaves one world and travels to
this world. Individuals that practice Hinduism describe death as a process in the existence of soul as a
separate entity. Today s Buddhists look at death as taking a break from this world and an awakening
the soul. All four of these religions described death in many ways, however they all believe death is
the result of the body and soul separating.
Another interesting topic from this reading was that statement that death should not be feared because
there is an afterlife. Because death is the separation of soul and body, what happens to our soul when
we die? Is there an afterlife or does our soul disappear ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

A Brief Note On Climate Change, Biodiversity, And...
Using the Eurobarometer 83.4: Climate Change, Biodiversity, and Discrimination against Minority
Groups (May June 2015, ICPSR 36403) for the purpose of comparing various counties in the
European Union. Eurobarometer is a series of public opinion surveys conducted regularly on behalf of
the European Commission. The scope of the project would be to look into the information given in the
Eurobarometer and to compare why some countries have common characteristic while others have a
great range between them on certain characteristics. In addition, it covers these various countries the
geographic coverage is Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark,
Estonia, European Union, Finland, France, Germany, Great Britain, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy,

For this data collection project, I wanted to focus on countries that came from a wide range of
economic and social backgrounds. The purpose of doing so was to gain a better understanding on how
differing histories of certain countries could affect the answers that they responded with. The wide
array of answers would better show the diversity of these countries. I theorize that citizens in these
countries will have a high response rate of citizens who answer affirmatively to being informed.

Community Mental Health Movement
For many years, people who suffered with mental illness were more often than not institutionalized

advocacy began with Clifford W. Beers. Beers, himself an ex psychiatric patient who, after his release,
crusaded to bring mental health and mental illness to the attention of his fellow citizens (Pols). In
1908, Beers published his autobiography, A Mind That Found Itself, which roused the nation to the
plight of people with mental illnesses and set a reform movement into motion (Our History). Beers
advocacy for the mentally ill was just the beginning for what would be the development of several
new policies and programs that to this day continue to develop.
On February 19, 1909 Beers, along with philosopher William James and psychiatrist Adolf Meyer,
embraced that future by creating the National Committee for Mental Hygiene, later the National
Mental Health Association and what we know today as the Mental Health America ( Our History). The
year 1921 marked the beginning of the child guidance movement. Its goal was to prevent juvenile
delinquency through involvement of the Child Guidance clinics in the youth s lives. The American
Orthopsychiatric Associated was founded in 1924 at the initiative of Karl Menninger . Its aim was to
promote the medical view of crime, namely that criminals should be considered psychiatric patients

The Effect Of Mineral Nutrition On The Toxicity Of Metals
There is a vast amount of literature which indicates that the mineral nutrition has an important role in
the toxicity of metals (Pond and Walker, 1972, 1975; Larson and Piscator, 1971; Petering et al., 1971,
1974; 1977; Hamilton and Valberg, 1974; Doyle and Pfander, 1975; Hastings et al., 1976; Waldron
and Stofen, 1974). It is true, especially to those micronutrients which are essential such as zinc,
copper, iron with respect to toxicity of certain metals like cadmium, arsenic, lead etc. It is assumed
that the dietary intake of metals in excessive such as copper, iron and zinc will be protective against
the toxic effects of the heavy metals like lead. The deficiency of calcium and other essential elements
result in the enhanced toxicity of lead and cadmium [ref]. There had been difficulty in evaluating the
role of essential nutrients like zinc, iron, copper etc on the toxicity of heavy metals, perhaps due to
differences in the animal models choosen, the route of administration and other metabolic and
physiological differences which leads to variable results between studies.
Lead zinc relationships
Cerklewski and Forbes (1976) reported that rats when fed a diet having low levels of zinc and
containing 200 ppm of lead cause a marked increase in the lead levels of tibia and urinary 8
aminolevulinic acid (ALA). Further it has been observed that the lead levels of tibia and urinary ALA
has reduced greatly when the zinc content of the diet was raised to optimal or super optimal

Life On Earth Is Ending, Aurora Essay
Life on Earth is ending, Aurora, when yours only just began.
Our morning started like any other: me, cocooned in cotton but so very free because there you were,
curled up beside me. Slipping out of bed, I tiptoed to the kitchen to prepare your breakfast. Outside,
snow spiraled through the late December air. Peering through the frosted window, I smiled, reveling in
the thought of us, living inside of our own personal snow globe. As I reached for the remote control to
turn on the weather channel, my mind danced with visions of the day ahead. Maybe we d go sledding
in the park, or watch the local boys play ice hockey on the lake. The day was ours. The world was
ours.
But EMERGENCY ALERT there was no five day forecast.
I d thought I d have a lifetime with you. Instead, we have one day.
***
You re too young to understand, Aurora, but some things are not meant to have expiration dates. Milk
has an expiration date but the world, my dear, should not. (And especially, not our world. Not us.)
And so, as my bowl shattered to the kitchen floor this morning, sending Honey Nut Cheerios and hope
scattering across the hardwood, my only thought was of you.
Stepping over the ceramic shards, I traced my way back to the bedroom watched your eyelids flutter
open, my name form on your lips. Bathed in golden morning light, you beamed up at me like I was
God. You are too young to know the difference, sweetheart and in that moment, I found myself
wishing that you were right.
I wished that

Essay On Undocumented Immigrants
Amnesty for Undocumented Immigrants
Put yourself in the place of an undocumented immigrant or a family member. Would you then
advocate for amnesty? Amnesty, which is a pathway to citizenship for undocumented immigrants, has
been a very controversial topic that has been debated since the foundation of the United States. People
argue against amnesty because according to their sources they take jobs from American citizens. They
are violating the law of the United States and they live of taxpayer dollars. Should illegal immigrants
be granted a pathway to citizenship? Yes, they should because illegal immigrants will stimulate the
economy, most illegal immigrants are otherwise law abiding and the amount of illegal immigrants in
the united states ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In a statement given by Judge Goodlatte titled Immigration Reform he opines that undocumented
immigrants should not be granted a pathway to citizenship because they have violated the immigration
laws of the United States and that those laws must be enforced. However, on a recent report requested
by ICE it is shown that between the dates of January and August 2015 about 1,800 undocumented
immigrants that were released were rearrested. The immigrants however, faced charges that were
associated to non violent crimes. Also, a Wall Street Journal opinion piece done by Jason L. Riley
claims that about 1.6 percent of all immigrant males between 18 and 39 years old were incarcerated,
compared to 3.3 percent of the native born population . These studies suggest the contrary to the point
of Judge Goodlatte that undocumented immigrants should not be granted amnesty because they have
broken the immigration laws of the United States. Undocumented immigrants are statistically shown
to be more law abiding than native born citizens and although some were charged with felonies, they
were non violent and charges were ultimately dropped. Due to this undocumented immigrants should
be granted amnesty to remain in the united states legally and keep benefiting our economy as well as

Bullies In The Workplace
In schools, you will come across bullies in one form or another. In fact, bullies are commonplace in
American schools. The bullies will mock, look down, pressurize and ostracize you. They may
sometimes even cause physical harm to you. But is it possible that being bullied at school can actually
prepare you for the workplace? I believe so, as bullying can actually teach us to cope with office
politics and give us motivation to work harder and better in the workplace.
Firstly, being bullied in school can actually teach us how to cope with office politics in the workplace.
When students are being bullied, students are given immense stress, as they are mentally tortured and
feel depressed and stressed. You would have to learn how to cope with bullying to survive. As in the
workplace, there are office politics which you would have to cope with, where people are constantly
being stressed to outperform others to keep their job, and how to cope with the tricks and
manipulation techniques other people use to keep their job or climb the ranks, things you have to
constantly keep deal with. This coupled with the stress of working itself gives the worker quite some
stress. Being ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

The Journey of an Orphan to a Young Woman
The Journey of an Orphan to a Young Woman: Imagination is a companion that will always be there to
ease up moments of despair in life. It gives hope that one day the possessions that the heart desires
will be there not too far from reach, or to believe the cruel circumstances life brings upon us are
instead moments of joy. L.M Montgomery demonstrates this skilfully in her work; Anne of Green
Gables. The novel is about a lonely orphaned girl whose only friend is her imagination. Due to her
imagination and the support of her new loving family, she grows into a bright and intelligent young
woman who realizes the potential that life has for her and her tremendously creative mind. The

However these traits were what helped Anne stand out against all the other young behaved girls, she
was different from them and this made her unique. She learned to accept her imperfections and turn
them into talents instead. Identity is what every orphan yearns to have, since not belonging to anyone
steals it away from them. Anne Shirley knew who her parents were, however not being raised by them
she had no identity to be sure of. It was a taint on her that never left her alone. Due to these
circumstances, the journey of Anne Shirley s growth from a loud and obnoxious child to an elegant
and sophisticated young women had many bumps in the road. A situation that portrays her obnoxious
side would be not apologising to Mrs. Lynde and locking herself in the room.
I shall have to stay here forever then, said Anne mournfully, because I can t tell Mrs. Lynde I m sorry I
said those things to her. How can I? I m NOT sorry. I m sorry I ve vexed you; but I m GLAD I told her
just what I did. It was a great satisfaction. I can t say I m sorry when I m not, can I? I can t even
IMAGINE I m sorry. (Montgomery 85)
Although it was her mistake to have such an outburst she still believes what she did was not wrong,
and well deserved on Mrs. Lynde s side. However, on the other hand the way she handles the
accusation of stealing Marilla s amethyst brooch is completely opposite. Although she has not stolen

1.Hierarchical or vertical organization structure: A hierarchical organization is an organizational
structure like a pyramid one or a group of people at the top who inform employee of policies and
procedures, point out problems that need attention, and offer feedback about performance; then the
subsequent levels of people below them, who stay in the bottom of the pyramid. This is the dominant
mode of organization among large organizations; most corporations, governments, and organized
religions are hierarchical organizations with different levels of management, power or authority. In
this traditional structure, the communication process flows through layers, employees receive their
works from direct manager, who interprets orders from the higher manager and employees send
information about their work back to the direct manager. This structure makes it easy to plan and
implement business strategies, that is, if employees stick to the established patterns of communication.
2. Horizontal or flattened organizational structure: A horizontal organization is an organization that
has an organizational structure with few or no levels of middle management between staff and
executives. The idea is that well trained workers will be more productive when they are more directly
involved in the decision making process, rather than closely supervised by many layers of

Accuracy of Bayley Scores as Outcome Measures in Trials of...
Introduction
Long term follow up of high risk preterm infants has become increasingly important as the proportion
of infants surviving has increased steadily over the past several decades. It is well known that these
infants are at increased risk of cognitive impairment. (Class) With this increase in at risk survivors,
many clinical research questions arise that can only be answered by long term follow up studies.
(Vohr, Teune) Clinical trials that examine common perinatal therapies should also include a long term
follow up component in their research to examine later neurodevelopmental outcomes in their cohorts.
Although there is no prescribed protocol dictating which specific neurodevelopmental tests are to be
completed during follow up, the Bayley Scales of Infant and Toddler Development and all its
revisions, is the most widely used test to assess neurodevelopment of very preterm infants in the first
three years of life (Luttikhuizen) and is a common outcome measure used in clinical research trials.
Standardized developmental assessments such as the Bayley that are used in a pediatric clinical trial
setting as primary outcome measures need to be reliably administered and scored. Trained test
administrators and scorers are generally careful that the tests they are administering are conducted and
scored correctly. However, given the range of numerical calculations and transcriptions required in
scoring the results of these tests, there is always a chance that errors

Roman army was called the Greek Phalanx and there were five ranks. The Greek Phalanx was ended
after the Gauls attacked Rome in 390 B.C. The Early Legion was a great army after the Phalanx and
had many tactics. Scorpio came and helped that army to outmaneuver the enemy. War times caused

establishment of the martial value within martial arts, Daoism functions as the greatest influence

As an early form of martial arts, Tai chi emphasizes a softer and internalized approach to achieving
Dao. While practicing Tai chi, one must internalize themselves in relation to their environment. The
basis of Tai chi revolves around the idea that the human body functions as a microcosm of the
universe. By understanding one s qi energy flow one attains the capacity to function like the universe.
The goal of Tai chi is to harness the energy (qi) of nature itself and bring it into the body. As a result,
bringing the natural energy of the environment into the body will produce a balance and thus, improve
mental and physical health. The art of Tai chi and its emphasis on the connection between the cosmos

the potential to develop and function similarly to the universe. This connection between the internal

The Between Edouard Vuillard s Interior With A Screen (...
The art world has been host to a vast menagerie of talent, intellect, and creativity for about as long as
human culture has existed. It has grown, developed, and changed just as humanity has. Naturally, with
such an impressively expansive history, various avenues of art are visited time and time again by new
artists. Artists seek not only to bring their own personal flavor and meaning to timeless concepts, but
to find new ways to approach them. While not every single creator and craftsman can make such a
great impact on art or the world, their efforts have given birth to some truly magnificent and unique
works. In an effort to create a more meaningful understanding, as well a deeper appreciation, of the
nuances, techniques, and design choices employed in these attempts, a comparison will be made

King Lear Comparison Essay
Originally written at the start of the 17th century, William Shakespeare s play, King Lear, has become
one of his most famed works. The tragedy was first adapted for the screen in 1909 as a black and
white, silent film. Almost a century later in 2008, King Lear was once more brought to life through
director Trevor Nunn s film adaptation of the same name. Staring Ian McKellen as King Lear, the film
adaptation is based on the 2007 production of the play by the renowned Royal Shakespeare Company.

Characters with titles that derive from English place names, such as the Duke of Cornwall, indicate
that the film takes place in England. Also, many scenes occur on heaths which can be commonly
found throughout England but rarely in Russia. However, the costumes worn by male characters,
especially Lear s scarlet tunic, closely resemble those worn by the Tsar and his high ranking officials.
Additionally, Lear s 100 knights have also been transformed into 100 singing, squat dancing Cossacks
which further reinforces the films connection to Imperial Russia as Cossacks are an ethnic group
known for their historic loyalty to the Tsar. The inclusion of rifles as well as glasses suggests that King
Lear is set in the 1800 s which coincides with both Victorian England and Imperial Russia. Although
using elements from two eras may confuse some viewers, historical and geographical references are
negligible to most audience members, allowing them to generate their own opinion about the setting.
At the same time, the setting makes Nunn s production unique. Since 1909, King Lear has been
adapted for the screen on numerous occasions with the majority of these adaptations retaining the
original setting of pre Christian England. By drastically changing the setting, it distinguishes Nunn s
King Lear from other

INTRODUCTION: This is a standard circuit which can be used to adjust the brightness of mains
lights and the speed of AC motors. It uses a triac, diac and has a radio frequency interference (RFI)
noise suppression circuit built into it as well. The circuit controls the average power to a load through
the triac by phase control. The AC supply is applied to the load for only a controlled fraction of each
cycle. The triac is held in an OFF condition for a portion of its cycle then is triggered ON at a time
determined by the circuit. Each time the triac is turned on, the load current changes very quickly a few

At this instant in time no current is flowing in either direction. This is the point at which a dimmer is
electronically synchronized to turn the power ON or OFF. By chopping the waveform at the zero
crossing point, smooth dimming can be achieved without the lamp flickering. This turning on and off
of the power device occurs every time the mains crossing point is reached (half phase), 100 or 120
times per second. Typically light dimmers are manufactured using a Triac or Thyristor as the power
control device. These electronic parts are semiconductors not dissimilar to transistors. A Thyristor is a
Uni. directional device and hence, because AC power flows in both directions, two are needed. A triac
is a bidirectional device and therefore only one is needed. An electronic circuit determines the point in
time at which they turn ON (conduct). The ON state continues until the next zero crossing point, at
which point the device turns itself OFF. The electronic circuit then provides a delay, which equates to
the dimness of the lamp, before turning the control device back on. The slight capacitance of the load,
filters the chopped waveform resulting in a smooth light output. Some controllers use a
microprocessor control with the above timing function being handled by an analogue circuit. More
sophisticated systems, called digital dimmers, operate the switching direct from microprocessor. This
has the advantage of greater reliability, quieter operation, lower cost and smaller

Impact of Performancing Drugs in Sports Out of the 21,849 drug tests during the 1968 2008 summer

can either be Stimulants, Anabolic androgenic steroids, human growth hormones, and Erythropoientin
( Performance Enhancing ). PED s improve your overall athletic performance. PED are harmful and
can even be fatal. Athletes use these substances to gain an unfair advantage to become better than their
opponent. Athletes who use PED s violate the spirit of competition and makes it not fun to compete
for players who respect the rules. Every year countless players take PED s to give them an unfair
boost that can harm them, it also does not show their true athleticism on the field. ... Show more

For instance Almost all athletes take some type of substance to improve their performance in the sport
they participate in ( galegroup.com ). When athletes use drugs or substances to increase your
performance it is unfair to the spirit of the sport. Strangely enough, As there are people willing to
cheat, there will be drugs that are undetectable. ( Galegroup.com ) There is a high demand for drugs
for athletes willing to cheat and make the field unfair. In fact, Mcwire, a famous home run hitter who
was found taking a legal drug called andiostendire which changed how people looked at him (Haley).
Mcwire, then proved that in order to be the best you must take PED s to help you get there. Athletes
who lack the performance to compete with others at their sport, take PED s to enhance their
performance over others. It takes lots of hard work and sweat to increase your performance and some
athletes are not willing to work for their awards, instead they take substances to increase their
performance. Players who use performance enhancing drugs are cheaters and it is unfair to all the

The Parts Of A Community Analysis
1. Discuss the parts of a community analysis report why each part is important.
Defining borders is important for the patrons to understand the community in which the library serves.
It s also important due to knowing the development of the collection which caters to the patrons of the
community. The borders can be defined through zip codes, and service areas. (Disher, 2007, p. 10)
Understanding the borders of the library allows the staff to understand who they are servicing, and

Analysis Of Oleg Cassini s King Of Bridal
Pamela Ramirez Briggs Fashion and Textiles 15 May 2017 King of Bridal Oleg Cassini was one of the
most influential designers with one of the longest careers in American history. He was born in Paris on
April 11, 1913 to the Count and Countess Cassini, his grandfather being the Peking Imperial Russian
Ambassador. He grew up with his younger brother, Igor Cassini, who turned out to be very similar in
many ways. As a child he spent most of his life traveling from Russia, Denmark, and Copenhagen due
to his father s occupation. When he became a young adult his dream was to become a soldier or
diplomat. He was unable to fulfill his dream when the Russian empire collapsed, so they moved to
Florence where he studied art with a famous painter ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It was not until late 1948 when their marriage began to crumble once more due to their youngest
daughter, Christina Cassini, being born on November 19, 1948. In 1950 he knew the marriage would
not last due to the rapidly increasing amount of fame his wife had accumulated in such a short amount
of time. Since his wife was becoming more and more successful, he decided to try out acting in Where
the Sidewalk Ends , but not much came from it. They finally decided to end their marriage in 1952
due to the distance and fighting. Although his marriage with Gene was not his first marriage it
definitely was his last, he was shortly married to Merry Fahrney before Gene, not much about their
marriage is known due to its brief existence. Fashion, movie making, and tennis were not the only
activities that interested Cassini. His childhood dream came true during World War ll when he was
drafted as a U.S. Cavalry due to his impressive horse riding skills. After serving in the war he was sent
back home to New York, where he was determined to become more successful than ever. After his
rocky marriage to Gene he decided to give love a second chance with Grace Kelly. He was not known
as much of a ladies man until Grace Kelly ended their engagement to marry to the Prince of Monaco.
After she broke his heart he was seen

Victor Frankenstein Character Analysis
Robert Walton is amazed and in awe, while he is traveling to the north pole. His traveling gives him
dreams and excitement for what will come during his travels. Robert is also convincing himself that
the cold and frost of the north will have many adventures for him. I wonder how much this breeze
means to Robert Walton and how he would feel if there was no breeze. I wonder if he will be
unmotivated or unable to continue on. I am also imagining his descriptions and thinking whether or
not my visions match with his visions and descriptions.
Victor Frankenstein is happy about the summer months and the scenery around him. He is happy
about the harvest from the farms and just happy about nature in general. I wonder how harvest would
look like and why he specifically mentions vines. However, at the same time, those feelings made him
forget about his friends and his loved ones, who are far away. Victor broke his promise with his father
and has worried his friends. I wonder what would happen if Victor just suddenly appeared to loved
ones and friends. I also wonder if his loved ones and friends would be surprised and be happy or be
disappointed for not hearing from him.
Victor was watching as his monster stood and came alive, while their was a storm in the sky. I wonder
why Victor called the storm a noble war that was so, beautiful yet terrific. Is it beautiful because of the
clouds and terrific because of the winds and lightning? Victor also watched as a bolt of

  • 3. Fusion And Hybrid Electric Vehicle Three model years passed by and I finally got behind the wheel again of a Ford Fusion. Just like the last time, this model was the Fusion Energi, a plug in hybrid electric vehicle based on Ford s popular midsize car. Now in its fifth model year, the 2017 Fusion Energi is a close match to the standard hybrid model as well as to the gasoline version. Besides the electric charging port located just ahead of the driver s door, the other differences have to do with badging you ll find Fusion Energi markups on the exterior as well as inside the sedan. And that s a good thing too the Fusion is already an attractive model and no styling differentiation is warranted. Some manufacturers opt for silly looking grilles or other embellishments to distinguish gas and hybrid models. On the other hand, it seems Ford decided that a near uniform look for all Fusion models is entirely sufficient. 2017 Ford Fusion Energi Platinum The 2017 version welcomes a third trim level, Platinum, joining the SE and Titanium editions. Also new this year is the grille, exterior LED lighting, and SYNC 3 infotainment system. All models now come with an 11 speaker audio system and a new rotary transmission selector. What hasn t changed is the 2.0 liter, four cylinder engine powering this model nor the permanent magnet AC synchronous electric motor or the lithium ion battery. Also present is an electronically controlled continuously variable transmission to turn the front wheels. Selling hybrids is a ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. An Examination of Cardiovascular Disease Heart Disease: An Examination Heart or cardiovascular disease is an umbrella term utilized for various diseases that can affect one s heart. As with any disease, there are certain factors that can exacerbate the onset and continuation of this disease. For this reason, the paper below will analyze heart disease in detail and describe the specific population that is prone to being affected by this disease, as well as what this population can do to help alleviate the harmful effects of heart disease. In order to understand heart disease, one must understand that there are many diseases that relate to this broad term. According to the Mayo Clinic, Heart disease is a broad term used to describe a range of diseases that affect your heart. The various diseases that fall under the umbrella of heart disease include diseases of [ å›  blood vessels, such as coronary artery disease; heart rhythm problems (arrhythmias); heart infections; and heart defects [one is] born with (congenital heart defects). Due to the fact that there are so many various diseases connected to heart disease, it is truly quite difficult to single out one population to be examined. However, what is known about heart disease is that despite the fact that it can affect just about anyone, older males, especially in the African American, Native American and Mexican American population are most at risk. The paper will, therefore, focus on this population. There are many factors that make this particular ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

How Reliance Will Get Fit Into The Japanese Culture How Reliance Will Get Fit Into the Japanese Culture John Huddle 19 October 2014 Abstract This paper explores about the cultural differences between Japanese culture and Indian culture and how Reliance industries deal with Japanese cultural values while doing business in Japan. This study also reveals company s market, pricing and positioning strategies. Culture at Reliance Industries Reliance group has a vision of becoming the top integrated and the world s largest power company. Company is building some of the biggest power plants in the shortest time periods throughout the country. The company hardly believe in their employees and realize that the company will remain incomplete without their employees therefore company invest first in them before investing in the business. Reliance is also constantly exploring options to add to its capacities in existing business operations (RIL Introduction, 2006). Reliance group has an excellent work culture and this would be considered by the Japanese because the majority of the Japanese companies always strive to develop extraordinary people and teams who follow their company s philosophy. However Reliance industries will enter into the Japanese market with good business policies but there are lots of differences between Indian work culture and Japanese work culture which the company will consider while doing business in Japan. • 6. Twelfth Night Duality In Act 1, Scene 2 of Twelfth Night, as Viola lays down her plans before the captain, she speaks about a major theme of the play: the way a person seems outwardly versus their true self. Viola says she is aware people cannot be trusted based on their looks, but trusts the captain. She then requests his help so she can be dressed as a boy for the remainder of the play. The way she behaves also hits on another theme, the contrast between people that can act as a balance. Through comparison, she can be seen as a counterbalance to Sebastian in the way they both conduct themselves. The majority of the characters have a twin of their own to act as a sort of foil. Exploring this passage (1.2.96 108) will help see the double themes of duality that ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... As if extending the idea of the twins, Viola and Sebastian, nearly everyone seems to have their complementary twin. As mentioned earlier, Viola takes charge and makes her own plans while Sebastian seems to operate on whims. There is also a difference in their outlooks. Viola is easily assured that her brother may still be alive, while Sebastian is certain his sister is dead. Olivia and Orsino also act as the counterbalance to one another. While both are absorbed in their own melancholy moods, Orsino does it for the love he desires and Olivia does it for loved ones she s lost. Despite their opposing approaches towards wooing, they both end up with a love of their own. Another interesting counterbalance is between the captain and Antonio. The captain saved Viola, but after accepting money to help her, he went his separate way, never expressing feelings for her. In contrast, Antonio rescued Sebastian, then gave him money and followed him, all the while expressing love for him. Then there is Sir Toby and Malvolio, perhaps two of the most evident opposites in the play because of the way Malvolio actively opposes Sir Toby. Malvolio is somber and serious. He wants people to respect him and kisses up to Olivia. Sir Toby, however, is more of a clown than Feste, staying up to all hours of the night, drinking and carelessly waking the house with his singing. Malvolio does what he can to seem above his station, but Sir Toby does not worry what others think and often seems below his station. Though, with a character like Malvolio, finding people to be his opposite is no chore; Feste and Maria could also work to contrast with him, but Malvolio and Sir Toby s hatred of each other do seem most ... • 7. The Importance Of Sin In The Crucible Puritans want to purify the world and destroy sin that goes around in it. They broke off from the Roman Catholic Church, for they had separate beliefs and felt mistreated. Their beliefs included many of the same ideals of a catholic, but they took those ideals to an extreme. They believed that sinning had something to do with the devil controlling the human body. The Puritans strongly believed that lying to others was an ultimate sin, and they were to only tell the truth. Moreover, God didn t appreciate his followers to lie. In the Crucible, Elizabeth was in the wrong for lying about his lechery, because lying is against her religion, and once John confessed, there wasn t much Elizabeth could ve done for John except tell the truth. She was also known to be a truthful person, so she shouldn t have lied and sticked with what she knew, consciously, was right. Again, lying to the court about lechery was the wrong decision; furthermore, Elizabeth went against her religion, and made John seem like a liar. Due to John accusing Abigail of lying, once Elizabeth lied about the lechery, it made his accusation sound like a lie. Danforth explains to Abigail, But likewise, children, the law and bible damn all bearers of false witness (Crucible. 3. 614 616). Danforth explains in court that lying is not called for, nor is it welcomed in court and religion. Danforth says this because he can then connect law to religion as a church and state collaboration. Many civilizations made accomplishments in farming but the Tang s accomplishments were very important. One of the biggest advancements in farming was the three field system. The three field system was a system in the Tang dynasty where everyone gets enough arable land to farm and produce food for themselves. This was important because it allowed every family to have a food and it prevented the very wealthy people from buying up all of the land. In other dynasties and empires, rich people buying all of the land was a major problem. The Tang wanted to avoid this because they knew the outcome of having a rich people controlling all of the farming land. The middle class and poor people wouldn t be able to live and the economy would be very bad. This system gave people land according to their needs. For example, older people and widows got less land than a man with a family. (Theobald, 2015) Every adult male was allowed eighty mu, which was a measurement of land, old and sick people were allowed forty mu, widows received thirty mu, and lower class merchants and craftsmen got ten mu. This system benefited the economy because since everyone had enough food, they could specialize in their own crafts like blacksmithing and art. Another benefit from the food surplus that this system brought is that the government found a new strain of rice that grew much quicker and was less work to grow. This gave the Tang an ... • 10. Macrophages Lab Report Macrophages are cells that participate in the immune response when there is an infection. Macrophages are phagocytes that can modify themselves in order to fight off various invaders; thus, they are involved in the first line of defense (Mandal). Macrophages are able to partake in the immune response with the help of cytokines. LPS is a gram negative bacteria cell wall component known to stimulate diverse cytokines such as interleukin 1 (IL 1), IL 6 and tumor necrosis factor alpha (TNF α) from macrophages (Buckley 31). Garlic is also known to be an immune modulator (Buckley 31). In this experiment, the cytokine gene expression from macrophages treated with LPS and garlic was used to determine gene expression. Using the female, J774A.1 cells and the male RAW264.7cells, total RNA was extracted from treated macrophages. Using a Spectrophotometer, absorbances were measured at three readings: 230nm, 260nm, and 280nm. At 260 nm, the nucleic acid concentration, at 230nm, the organic molecules (contaminants), and at 280nm, we tested the protein concentration (Layne E, 1957). The difference in trends could have been caused by the gender from which the cells originated, which was likely due to the different hormones released in each mouse cell. Thus, garlic suppressed the production of 1L 1B, IL 6, and IL 12 in both male and female cells. Authoritatively called a halfway abdominoplasty, a smaller than usual tummy tuck just expels undesirable skin and fat from the territory underneath the navel. This kind of strategy has generously expanded in notoriety. A full tummy tuck, by complexity expels skin and fat from the whole stomach region. A small scale tummy tuck is a decent choice if there is not a considerable measure of overabundance skin to expel, and the patient is keen on minimizing a protruding lower stomach area. Theory of elasticity state that solid material will deform under the application of an external force it will again regain their original position when external force is removed is referred to as elasticity . We took beam made of nickel titanium alloy which regain their original shape after removing external force act on the beam. It s a prismatic circular cross section beam. Initial shape and curvature of nickel titanium alloy depend upon its length and self weight of the beam large deflection of combined loading was proposed by kyongoo lee [1] finding deflection of non linear elastic cantilever beam and solved governing equation using numerical integration of one parameter shooting method. Bishop and drucker [2] investigate large deflection of cantilever beam of linear elastic material. We are using nitinol (nickel titanium alloy) beam it s having a low modulus of elasticity (E) which shows good spring back behavior which regain its original shape after removing external load. Reflection Paper About Self Out of all of the topics that we went over in over the course of the Sister to Sister class, the one that resonated with and still resonates with me the most would have to be the theme of self. This is simply because you cannot even begin to form a sense of community or delve into higher education successfully without a keen awareness of self. This phenomenon is stated beautifully with, an ongoing commitment to developing the self is paramount to the establishment of an identity that is centered and grounded (King, T. C., Ferguson, S. On a campus where only four percent of the population looks like you, I find it nearly impossible to not shift myself at least a little bit because I often feel uncomfortable. We are micro aggressed daily and are expected to have that not affect us; we are supposed to remain strong, which brings me to the issues with the idea of the black superwoman. • 16. Firestone s An Civil War Firestone, a tire production company, who owns a base in Liberia got into a predicament on morality issues. The controversy was over whether or not it was right to continue deploying their workers to Liberia after war crimes were committed there. During the time Firestone started up its operation of rubber collecting in Liberia, an ongoing civil war between a rebel force led by Charles Taylor and the Liberian president at the time, Samuel Doe, interfered with their operation. At first the company had withdrawn from the crossfire of the war, but soon realized they needed to return due to Firestone s financial decline. When returning, the tire company had to work under Taylor s stringent rules that resulted in issues such as the safety of their workers at the Firestone plantation and the exploitation of workers. The problem with this was that Firestone s primary intention was to return and make a profit, not taking the lives and opinions of their workers into consideration. Firestone s action was immoral leading to accepting the abuse and exploitation of their workers on the necessity of making a profit. Firestone s decision to return back to Liberia after leaving it for the first time was an iniquitous move on their behalf. During the 90 s firms realized that customers do not solely interact with the marketing department, but with all the organization. • 21. View Of Death In Religion Many religions have strong opinions about death since most religions believe in reincarnation, heaven or hell or an afterlife. Because of this, it is interesting to focus on different religions and their view of death. Therefore, four religions (Christianity, Islam, Hinduism and Buddhism) were chosen for the focus of my 2 arguments. Recall from the reading, Socrates stated death is the separation of the body and soul. Therefore, is death viewed as the separation of soul and body among different religions? According to Christianity, death is viewed as departure of home (body) and being in the presence of the Lord (soul), as well as in the presence of other believing loved ones. When looking at the Islamic viewpoint of death, death is merely a movement from one world to another, such as a journey through a different dimension of existence. This is similar to the description of forms and how the soul leaves one world and travels to this world. Individuals that practice Hinduism describe death as a process in the existence of soul as a separate entity. Today s Buddhists look at death as taking a break from this world and an awakening the soul. All four of these religions described death in many ways, however they all believe death is the result of the body and soul separating. Another interesting topic from this reading was that statement that death should not be feared because there is an afterlife. Because death is the separation of soul and body, what happens to our soul when we die? Is there an afterlife or does our soul disappear ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... • 24. Community Mental Health Movement Of The United States Community Mental Health Movement For many years, people who suffered with mental illness were more often than not institutionalized and severely mistreated. The history of the Mental Health movement begins in 1909. The history of advocacy began with Clifford W. Beers. Beers, himself an ex psychiatric patient who, after his release, crusaded to bring mental health and mental illness to the attention of his fellow citizens (Pols). In 1908, Beers published his autobiography, A Mind That Found Itself, which roused the nation to the plight of people with mental illnesses and set a reform movement into motion (Our History). Beers advocacy for the mentally ill was just the beginning for what would be the development of several new policies and programs that to this day continue to develop. On February 19, 1909 Beers, along with philosopher William James and psychiatrist Adolf Meyer, embraced that future by creating the National Committee for Mental Hygiene, later the National Mental Health Association and what we know today as the Mental Health America ( Our History). The year 1921 marked the beginning of the child guidance movement. Its goal was to prevent juvenile delinquency through involvement of the Child Guidance clinics in the youth s lives. The American Orthopsychiatric Associated was founded in 1924 at the initiative of Karl Menninger . Its aim was to promote the medical view of crime, namely that criminals should be considered psychiatric patients (Pols). In 1946, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 25. The Effect Of Mineral Nutrition On The Toxicity Of Metals There is a vast amount of literature which indicates that the mineral nutrition has an important role in the toxicity of metals (Pond and Walker, 1972, 1975; Larson and Piscator, 1971; Petering et al., 1971, 1974; 1977; Hamilton and Valberg, 1974; Doyle and Pfander, 1975; Hastings et al., 1976; Waldron and Stofen, 1974). It is true, especially to those micronutrients which are essential such as zinc, copper, iron with respect to toxicity of certain metals like cadmium, arsenic, lead etc. It is assumed that the dietary intake of metals in excessive such as copper, iron and zinc will be protective against the toxic effects of the heavy metals like lead. The deficiency of calcium and other essential elements result in the enhanced toxicity of lead and cadmium [ref]. There had been difficulty in evaluating the role of essential nutrients like zinc, iron, copper etc on the toxicity of heavy metals, perhaps due to differences in the animal models choosen, the route of administration and other metabolic and physiological differences which leads to variable results between studies. Lead zinc relationships Cerklewski and Forbes (1976) reported that rats when fed a diet having low levels of zinc and containing 200 ppm of lead cause a marked increase in the lead levels of tibia and urinary 8 aminolevulinic acid (ALA). Further it has been observed that the lead levels of tibia and urinary ALA has reduced greatly when the zinc content of the diet was raised to optimal or super optimal ... • 26. Life On Earth Is Ending, Aurora Essay Life on Earth is ending, Aurora, when yours only just began. Our morning started like any other: me, cocooned in cotton but so very free because there you were, curled up beside me. Slipping out of bed, I tiptoed to the kitchen to prepare your breakfast. Outside, snow spiraled through the late December air. Peering through the frosted window, I smiled, reveling in the thought of us, living inside of our own personal snow globe. As I reached for the remote control to turn on the weather channel, my mind danced with visions of the day ahead. Maybe we d go sledding in the park, or watch the local boys play ice hockey on the lake. The day was ours. The world was ours. But EMERGENCY ALERT there was no five day forecast. I d thought I d have a lifetime with you. Instead, we have one day. *** You re too young to understand, Aurora, but some things are not meant to have expiration dates. Milk has an expiration date but the world, my dear, should not. (And especially, not our world. Not us.) And so, as my bowl shattered to the kitchen floor this morning, sending Honey Nut Cheerios and hope scattering across the hardwood, my only thought was of you. Stepping over the ceramic shards, I traced my way back to the bedroom watched your eyelids flutter open, my name form on your lips. Bathed in golden morning light, you beamed up at me like I was God. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In a statement given by Judge Goodlatte titled Immigration Reform he opines that undocumented immigrants should not be granted a pathway to citizenship because they have violated the immigration laws of the United States and that those laws must be enforced. However, on a recent report requested by ICE it is shown that between the dates of January and August 2015 about 1,800 undocumented immigrants that were released were rearrested. The immigrants however, faced charges that were associated to non violent crimes. Also, a Wall Street Journal opinion piece done by Jason L. Riley claims that about 1.6 percent of all immigrant males between 18 and 39 years old were incarcerated, compared to 3.3 percent of the native born population . These studies suggest the contrary to the point of Judge Goodlatte that undocumented immigrants should not be granted amnesty because they have broken the immigration laws of the United States. Introduction Long term follow up of high risk preterm infants has become increasingly important as the proportion of infants surviving has increased steadily over the past several decades. It is well known that these infants are at increased risk of cognitive impairment. (Class) With this increase in at risk survivors, many clinical research questions arise that can only be answered by long term follow up studies. (Vohr, Teune) Clinical trials that examine common perinatal therapies should also include a long term follow up component in their research to examine later neurodevelopmental outcomes in their cohorts. Although there is no prescribed protocol dictating which specific neurodevelopmental tests are to be completed during follow up, the Bayley Scales of Infant and Toddler Development and all its revisions, is the most widely used test to assess neurodevelopment of very preterm infants in the first three years of life (Luttikhuizen) and is a common outcome measure used in clinical research trials. Depending on where they live they sometimes travel along a coast line which is a good place to find food. When the weather gets cold they return to their winter home, which they migrate to year after year. They return to their territory where they were born during the cold season to hibernate. Their hunting ground is their territory they sometimes share their territory with smaller animals and tend to go back to there hunting grounds year around; if they lose their hunting grounds to another bear they must find a new one. Polar bears hunt ring seals during the spring and early summer. They also eat wild berries, seaweed, and grass when they come across them. They will also go after snow geese, lemmings, birds eggs, dead whales, and walruses. They can get a successful kill every five days. (Smith) The only predator that a polar bear has is man, before guns polar bears didn t fear people. In the 1970s polar bears became endangered a law was put up to protect them. To protect them Russia, Canada, Denmark, and Norway are working on ways to stop hunters and to come up with ways to slow down global warming since the glaciers are melting at a rapid pace. • 43. King Lear Comparison Essay Originally written at the start of the 17th century, William Shakespeare s play, King Lear, has become one of his most famed works. The tragedy was first adapted for the screen in 1909 as a black and white, silent film. Almost a century later in 2008, King Lear was once more brought to life through director Trevor Nunn s film adaptation of the same name. Staring Ian McKellen as King Lear, the film adaptation is based on the 2007 production of the play by the renowned Royal Shakespeare Company. King Lear is a story of betrayal, loss and madness and to accurately convey this while simultaneously distinguishing it from other screen renditions, Nunn alters the setting and utilises the colours of the costumes and backdrop to symbolise the virtues ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Characters with titles that derive from English place names, such as the Duke of Cornwall, indicate that the film takes place in England. Also, many scenes occur on heaths which can be commonly found throughout England but rarely in Russia. However, the costumes worn by male characters, especially Lear s scarlet tunic, closely resemble those worn by the Tsar and his high ranking officials. Additionally, Lear s 100 knights have also been transformed into 100 singing, squat dancing Cossacks which further reinforces the films connection to Imperial Russia as Cossacks are an ethnic group known for their historic loyalty to the Tsar. The inclusion of rifles as well as glasses suggests that King Lear is set in the 1800 s which coincides with both Victorian England and Imperial Russia. Although using elements from two eras may confuse some viewers, historical and geographical references are negligible to most audience members, allowing them to generate their own opinion about the setting. At the same time, the setting makes Nunn s production unique. Since 1909, King Lear has been adapted for the screen on numerous occasions with the majority of these adaptations retaining the original setting of pre Christian England. By drastically changing the setting, it distinguishes Nunn s King Lear from other ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 44. Automatic Temperature Fan Speed Control INTRODUCTION: This is a standard circuit which can be used to adjust the brightness of mains lights and the speed of AC motors. It uses a triac, diac and has a radio frequency interference (RFI) noise suppression circuit built into it as well. The circuit controls the average power to a load through the triac by phase control. The AC supply is applied to the load for only a controlled fraction of each cycle. The triac is held in an OFF condition for a portion of its cycle then is triggered ON at a time determined by the circuit. Each time the triac is turned on, the load current changes very quickly a few micro seconds from zero to a value determined by the lamp resistance and the value of the mains voltage at that instant in time. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... At this instant in time no current is flowing in either direction. This is the point at which a dimmer is electronically synchronized to turn the power ON or OFF. By chopping the waveform at the zero crossing point, smooth dimming can be achieved without the lamp flickering. This turning on and off of the power device occurs every time the mains crossing point is reached (half phase), 100 or 120 times per second. Typically light dimmers are manufactured using a Triac or Thyristor as the power control device. These electronic parts are semiconductors not dissimilar to transistors. A Thyristor is a Uni. directional device and hence, because AC power flows in both directions, two are needed. A triac is a bidirectional device and therefore only one is needed. An electronic circuit determines the point in time at which they turn ON (conduct). The ON state continues until the next zero crossing point, at which point the device turns itself OFF. The electronic circuit then provides a delay, which equates to the dimness of the lamp, before turning the control device back on. The slight capacitance of the load, filters the chopped waveform resulting in a smooth light output. Some controllers use a microprocessor control with the above timing function being handled by an analogue circuit. More sophisticated systems, called digital dimmers, operate the switching direct from microprocessor. This has the advantage of greater reliability, quieter operation, lower cost and smaller ...
