Creon s Use Of Justice In Antigone
Antigone contrasts two types of justice and law. The law of men and statues on one hand, and
religious law on the other. Because of the centrality of fate and the rule of the Gods, in the lives of the
main characters of the play, religious rites and traditions are elevated to the status of law. These forms
of law are used in Antigone more than any of the other plays written in the Oedipus trilogy, in which
Antigone s standards of divine justice clash with Creon s will as the head of state.
Antigone, who is very selfless in this play; often puts herself in harm s way so that her brother can
have a peaceful afterlife. Upon Creon informing Antigone of what her consequences were going to be
if she buried her brothers body, she responded with I ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Safe Vehicular Drivers Essay
Becoming a safe vehicular user categorizes as the most important procedure of becoming a starting
driver. In addition, knowing the how to of driving could potentially save a driver s life as well will
prevent disastrous situations. This essay will cover two topics; however, there remains a plethora of
tasks to be pursued before and during driving. For one, a safety belt is very important when it comes
to the safety of the automobilist and for comfortability. Continuing on, this paper will cover how to
follow the speed limit of the specified road. For every vehicular user s security, these rules and
regulation must be specifically followed.

Speed limit signs are on nearly every street throughout the United States. Some range from thirty
miles per hour to seventy based on the location. Being a new driver, this may appear like a difficult
responsibility to follow the speed limit. Along the side of the road, the signs stand tall with black and
white color ways with a very bold font. Simply adjust the speed of the vehicle based on the speed limit
in the designated location. Sometimes, due to hazards and weather, vehicles may be required to
continue at a lower speed than posted. Vehicle operators must follow specific laws within individual
states for speed if there isn t a designated speed limit sign posted. Following the speed limit is a must,
and as a new driver this should be deemed as a very important task while driving.
In conclusion, driving a vehicle is a tremendous responsibility and can cause serious harm if used
improperly. Hazards on and off the road develops through all times of the day, and drivers should
always be ready to face danger. Drivers must rely on each other to follow the rules and regulations of
the road to have a safe trip to their destination. As a new driver, always follow every rule presented
and use extra caution when entering major roadways. Following these instructions would assist in
lowering the risk included with driving. At the same time, buckle up, it s the

Personal Narrative-Willy Wonka s Chocolate
The fluorescent lights bounced off the clear plastic of the cake tin. I smile looking at the soft
buttercream swirls on the top of the delicious treat.. Slowly I unhinge the cake s cove hearing the soft
snaps of the plastic separating from the base. Pop, pop, pop the top comes off. As I release the cake
from the covering an overwhelming scent of chocolate fills the air. It was as if I had just opened the
door to the Willy Wonka s chocolate factory. I look down at the cake to see the smooth brown
buttercream spread in an even layer all across the top and sides of the cake, The drips of hardened dark
chocolate flowing down the sides of the cake. Each slice is marked out neatly with a small, shallow

The Concept Of Modernity, And Charles Baudelaire And Karl...
Modernity is the dynamic relationship between culture, polity, society and economy. Even though
each of these concepts of modernity are often followed in a relatively autonomous path of
development, these institutional realms is usually influenced by each other (Madsen, 2002). Two
modern philosophers who introduce the concept of modernity are Charles Baudelaire and Karl Marx.
On the one hand, Charles Baudelaire explores modernity through the notion of a strange man. The
strange man follows dandyism as a philosophy of life against uncertainty. Modernity is described as a
desired quality of dandyism, whose mysterious institution creates a new reality of being (Baudelaire,
1995). On the other hand, Karl Marx identifies modernity in the rise of the bourgeoisie epoch,
suggesting a cosmopolitan freedom. Similarly to dandyism, cosmopolitan freedom strives for the
limitation of uncertainty and the creation of an insensitive reality (Marx Engels,2008). However,
modernity is condemned to failure since uncertainty is a part of human nature. Therefore, uncertainty
cannot be removed from the human condition. Nevertheless, this discussion will argue that the real
problem with modernity is its exploitation of freedom and its misunderstanding around the concept of
ambivalence. If modernity embraces intellectual ambivalence, then humanity will find true freedom.
Charles Baudelaire explores the concept of modernity through the notion of a strange man
(Baudelaire, 1995, p.5). In The

The Rose For Emily Comparison
The GreenLeaf, by Flannery O Connor, and The Rose for Emily, written by William Faulkner, are
different in many ways but also similar. The books both have similar literary devices being used, the
era the books were staged in, and how the authors portrayed southern ideals .
Flannery used smiles, such as when O Connor wrote, ..hand would dangle from her wrist like the head
of a broken lily. , where she compared the hand of Mrs.May and a broken lily s head. O Connor also
shown symbolism by the bull stabbing Mrs.GreenLeaf in the heart with it s horn, while earlier in the
story she stated Oh Jesus, stab me in the heart! , this shows Jesus stabbing her as she said in her
demand and symbolizes the crucifixion of Jesus. In the beginning of the story, O Connor displays
symbolism by comparing the bull to Christ. So once again Flannery O Connor is bringing religion into
play. O Connor is well known for utilizing being raised Catholic in the South in her books. Miss O
Connor puts a piece of herself in all her short stories. Mrs. May shares this Christian aspect that
Flannery establishes in all her stories. She conveys this by always stating how she is a lady of God,
even though the statements that she makes do not manifest that. Mrs.May claims this on multiple
occasions as if she is trying to convince herself how christianly she is. The Rose for Emily also
contains multiple literary devices; such as, symbolism, the aged house Emily lives in shows her
isolation, she does not leave that much, because she is hiding a terrible secret in the upstairs room.
Emily only wanted a home, she could call her own and grow old with someone she loved in, which
she thought was Home Barron but tragically he died and stored his body in the upstairs room, this is
the reason why her house was smelling so horrible. The townspeople had to sprinkle lime on her lawn
to terminate the smell. The reader is to think that she killed him because she loved him and wanted the
control that she never had, because her father abused her and he was all she had before he died, so she
wanted to always have Barron.
Both short stories were set to segregation times.Because slavery has ended, both O.T. and E.T. and

The main aim of this project is to research on the integration of Natural Language Processing and
information systems engineering to enhance query retrieval in natural language processing.
Defining a research methodology:
The definition of research methodology includes two parts:
Research definition
Methodology
Research:
It is defined as a thorough and organized query or investigation on a particular theme to revise or
determine the facts, theories, applications and so on.
Methodology:
It is a system of methods followed by a particular discipline. Thus, research methodology is the way
how a researcher performs research.
Uses of research methodology:

Objective 1:
To study the concept of natural language processing and various features involved in it.
The above objective is fulfilled by initiating an exact design required for performing the research
process. The research design illustrates the basic understanding about the research (NLP) and various
features.
Research strategies:
Normally, research methodology includes two strategies for performing research.
Qualitative research
Quantitative research
Quantitative research:
Quantitative research methods are utilized to study the natural phenomena. So, it includes survey
methods, formal methods, and numerical methods.
Qualitative research:
Qualitative research methods are utilized to study the social and cultural phenomena. So it includes
observation, participant observation (field work), interview sessions, documents and texts and finally
the researcher s imitations and feedback. [Myers, 2009]
Qualitative research is a technique of promoting research that stresses the quality according to the user
s point of view and approaches. In depth interviews and focus groups are best examples of qualitative
research. [Laura Lake, 2009]

A Study Of Current System Essay
2.1: Study of current system
The current system consists of manually carrying out all the tasks such as
: telephonic communications regarding need of blood,
: searching the blood from storage,
: retrieving the required blood group,
: performing necessary documentations and
: delivering the blood.
This raises the cost and time required to a considerable extent. Moreover, the efficiency is reduced .
Sometimes, due to technical errors the blood delivered may be unhealthy but still it is given to the
patient in need causing altogether more complications.
The manual transmission might prove in vain if the blood group isn t available at the blood bank. It
wastes the passing time to a greater extent as after the end of checking the availability, still the seeker
has to undergo the whole procedure again along with travelling to another blood bank.
The worst case scenario takes place when the blood banks in that area doesn t contain the required
blood group. The time gets wasted and also in the end you do not get what was required.
As a result, keeping such problems in mind and many more a solution had to be thought of.
2.2: Problems and weaknesses of current system
: At present, the public can only know about the blood donation events through conventional media
means such as radio, news paper or television advertisements. There is no information regarding the
blood donation programs available on any of the portal.
: The current system that is using by the blood bank is

Post WW II and Japan Essay
World War II took place beginning at 1939 and ending in 1945. Japan was the last opposing country to
surrender to the US Allies on September 2nd, 1945. Ending the long, horrific seven year war.
Upon Japan s admitted defeat, the U.S. invaded and took occupation of the country for seven years.
Though assumed to be a distressing circumstance and expected total domination, it was a benefit to
Japan, for the United States to take control of them, rather than being a disadvantage. The occupation
helped the recovery and development of Japan s economy and also clarified understanding between
the two countries.
When the United States took control of Japan ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Many Japanese people still felt bitter about the atomic bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki, which
they tried to exploit the immorality of it by writing books, bashing the U.S. President Truman and the
Americans. However, the U.S. government during the occupation period censored it.
Surprisingly, the American occupation wasn t such an unpleasant experience the Japanese anticipated
it to be. The occupation proved to be an important, constructive phase of Japanese history, a veritable
rebirth, comparable only to the Meiji Restoration (Reischauer 222). What the Japanese expected the
U.S. to be a vindictive and relentless sovereignty, were basically friendly and fair minded people.
The Japanese, for their part, were far from the fanatical fighters the Americans had come to know on
the battlefield, and proved to be a docile, disciplined, cooperative people at home (Reichauer 222).
The United States dominating of Japan transformed the brutal war charged with overt racism into an
amicable peace in which the issue of race seemed to have disappeared. The army of occupation
became an undisputed figure of authority, and the government and its people obeyed without question.
Since militarism and authoritarianism lead Japan into disaster, many Japanese believed that the
democratic rule the Americans eulogized must be the correct way of governing. They enthusiastically

Argument Of Galileo Dialogue Summary
Galileo s Dialogue on the Two Chief World Systems uses powerful logic and simply described
concepts to overcome the Aristotelian bias of the populous and argue in favor of Copernicus
heliocentric view of the universe. Copernicus theorized that the earth, along with the other planets in
the sky, is in motion around the sun. The Aristotelian s geocentric worldview, that the earth is the
motionless center of the universe, was deeply ingrained into the minds of the people and the teachings
of the church. Galileo s argument had to be not only incisive and logical to have any sway, but it also
had to avoid offending or denying the ancient principles of thought proposed by Aristotle. He walked
this delicate line between educating the public and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In parroting the principles of Aristotle, they do not notice how much damage they do to his reputation,
how much discredit they bring him, and how much they diminish his authority instead of increasing it
(199). These men take Aristotle s good name and drag it through the mud by claiming that every one
of his sayings is absolute truth, rather than the best possible hypothesis he could have made with his
level of technology. By undermining the arguments of his opponents in this way, Galileo frees himself
up to defer to Aristotle s logical principles without invoking quotations of his conclusions.
While Galileo holds little respect for those who take Aristotle s theories at face value, he shows no
lack of respect for the great philosopher himself. Galileo applauds the fact that Aristotle s works are
examined and closely studied, and only blame(s) submitting to him in such a way that one blindly
subscribes to all his assertions and accepts them as unquestionable dictates (200). Galileo s arguments
for heliocentrism would convince any layman of their truth, but his opponents are so set in their ways
that they would be unwilling to even listen to his concepts. When an opponent relies on ancient words
and does not use ration to come to their beliefs, it is impossible to use ration to convince them
otherwise. Galileo, in his effort to contest what his opponents consider incontestable,

Declaration Of Sentiments Analysis
Like any major changes that happen within a society, there are usually people who have fought long
and hard, or perhaps, have held powerful positions which enabled them to facilitate change. There
were many women in history who were brave enough to speak against their religion and offer new
teachings, women who were bold enough to bear arms, women in power who used their voice to speak
against sexisism, and a woman who understood what it meant to live in two cultures and plainly prefer
one over the other. Anne Hutchinson was a puritan living in the mid 1600s and left England to lead a
new life in America (Kendall 14). She thought she would have more freedom in America, but she soon

Anthony and Elizabeth Cady Stanton met at a temperance meeting and were both appalled at the fact
that they were not allowed to speak (Rossi 11). Stanton convinced Anthony to join her in the women s
rights movement. Stanton needed someone to deliver her speeches because she was encouraged to
spend more time at home with her family. Stanton had a large family so she had little time to travel
and lecture, (Kendall 41). Stanton wanted to share her own ideas with other people, but her father and
husband didn t approve of her sharing any speeches or writings in public. This was similar to a
situation the Grimke Sisters were in when people didn t appreciate and approve of the fact that they
were speaking their ideas out in the public (Deverell and White). Anthony Anthony had lots of spare
time because she didn t have a family, therefore, she could dedicate her spare time to helping the
cause. Anthony and Stanton started a partnership together and ended up working with one another for
about fifty years (Rossi 11). After helping with Stanton s public speeches, the two women continued
working together to bring awareness to women s rights. Stanton and Anthony wrote an article together
on divorces and how they hated males. This was especially a big shocker to people back in the 1800s
(Rossi 15). Together, Stanton and Anthony started the NWSA, or the National Woman Suffrage
Association which, worked for a Constitutional amendment to give women the right to vote in

Gogebic Taconite Mine Report
Introduction
The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources is an agency of the great state of Wisconsin. The
WDNR s purpose is to protect, maintain, and preserve the resources of Wisconsin. We as
representatives of the WDNR feel that the mine may not be the best way to uphold our prime
directive. The negative effect that the mine will have on the environment far outway the positive
effect. The creation of this mine will impact the watershed, the flora, the fauna, the human health, and
the community,

Roads would have to be added due to work needed to run this mine. With the addition of these roads,
animals that used to travel that area would be hit by the new traffic. Many endangered species for
instance: trumpeter swan, bald eagle, piping plover, wood turtle would be in direct danger from the
mining operation. The mine would take away the habitat that all the animals including the endangered
species lives in.
Effect on the Human Health
This mine would expose us to many dangerous metals and minerals that, if not handled correctly could
contaminate the water we drink, the food we eat, and the air we breathe. The minerals that could be
found in the formation are mercury, asbestos, arsenates, sulfates, silicate dusts, and many other
poisonous or potentially poisonous minerals.
Community Problems
The area around the mine would be closed to the public as well. The miles of land that once was open
to the public for hunting, fishing, and sightseeing would be closed and never be the same again. The
area under the Managed Forest Law that Gogebic Taconite wants to close will equal 3,500 acres of
land (see Appendix B). While the mine is running, people would not be able to enjoy the beauty that

Examples Of Satire In The Butter Battle Book
Satire of The Butter Battle Book.
Dr. Seuss, an amazing writer who showed the world of satire and literature to all ages. Books such as
The Lorax, The Foot book and The Butter Battle Book are perfect examples of that. Seuss, a man
known for his creative vision and use of words, made these books a satire gold mine! We already
know about his rhymes but Seuss was also extremely good at using exaggeration. Don t forget his
amazing use of onomatopoeias or his profound use of repetition. I could go on forever but the fact is
Dr Seuss and his creative mind has an amazing talent for using satire to make his books come to life.
To make his books stick around for so long and to open the minds of his reader to the world of satire
and the amazing world of literature.
This creative talent is most clearly shown by the uses of exaggeration all throughout the book The
Butter Battle. Whether it s the fact that these two races are fighting over what side they butter their
bread. Or the fact that each side believes one is worse because of that fact. No matter where you look
in this book, there will always be a use of exaggeration! One being, So you cant trust a Zook who
spreads his bread underneath! Every Zook must be watched! He has kinks in his soul! (Seuss). This
quote is a perfect example of exaggeration, it s very obvious that no one would have kinks in their
soul because of how they butter their bread. Or that every Zook has to be watched! Another great
example would be the line, I ll blow you up he yelled, into pork and wee beans (Seuss). Now we all
know that you cant blow someone up into pork and wee beans! It s just physically impossible but that
doesn t stop Dr. Seuss from using it and using it effectively. To sum this all up, it s very easy to see
that exaggeration is just one of the few pieces of satire Dr. Seuss uses. But it is used extremely
effective and makes the reader more interested and gives them a few laughs in the process!
In addition to exaggeration, Seuss has an incredible knack for using repetition that makes the reader
more engaged. Makes the reader want to see what that next funky word will be, what goofy sentence
will follow. This simple piece of satire has immense power! With just a few

Martin Luther s Ninety-Five Theses On The Church
Martin Luther was the son of a coal miner and left his studies to become an Augustinian monk. He
spoke out against the church in Wittenberg. Luther was convinced that salvation was earned by the
performance of good deeds and grace through the church. He disagreed and argued that salvation
could only be obtained by faith in knowing Christ s sacrifice. If one were to purchase indulgences,
Luther thought that they were useless because one can only be saved by the grace of God. He also
believed that Christian s should assume full responsibility for their actions on earth. In 1517, Luther

Benjy is the first narrator out of four in William Faulkner s The Sound and the Fury. He is unable to
speak, so his story is told through his thoughts and memories. Despite Benjy s mental limitations he is
the most illuminating and most important narrator in the novel, as Faulkner intended. His memories
reveal more in the story than any other narrator because he is able to remember without concealing
information. Faulkner uses Benjy s narration to build a foundation and pretense for the novel, creating
a puzzle for the reader. Benjy is mentally retarded and has no sense of time, leaving the Compson
family and staff to look after him. He seems to have limited control over himself and his body as
shown very early on in the novel. He is unable ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
He d better stay in. Benjamin. Stop that, now.
It wont hurt him. Uncle Maury said.
You, Benjamin. Mother said. If you dont be good, you ll have to go to the kitchen. (Faulkner 5)
This sets up reader s understanding that the Compsons are not a cohesive, unified family. It shows
how many voices and opinions are involved in everything Benjy does and how much he is around the
entire family, making his thoughts very important to the novel because while he might not have been
crucial to the actual situation, he was in the room listening. Benjy s credibility as a narration is often
reduced because of his limitations, however he continually adds to the novel s background and grows
as a character. Roggenbuck explains how he grows throughout the novel:
Critics also cite Benjy s frequent use of the verb go as an example of his limitations, but in this, too,
Benjy changes as he grows. Though as a child Benjy does often use went to describe his motions and
the motions of objects and people around him . . . by 1928 he more frequently and habitually settles
for went and went away to describe how things move, signaling both his increased passivity and his
diminished involvement with people or objects not immediately present.

Management Team At The Fresh Connection
Introduction
Over the last several years our management team at The Fresh Connection has been working
diligently to turn around a fledgling company and improving its position in the global market and with
the stakeholders. When we inherited this task our company had an ROI of almost 13%, and there was
an extensive list of outstanding issues. From less than optimal capacity utilization to product
obsolescence, there were issues in every aspect of the supply chain that were combining to drive the
overall ROI down. Our team focused on developing an aggressive front end strategy to combat the
ROI, anticipating that change may not come as quickly as we would like. Ultimately, we believe we
have gotten to a point now where we know what our root causes are, and have found a solution that
has started to pay off.
Strategy and Impact
By far the most important decision we had to make as a team was what kind of strategy we would
implement. This included two parts, the fist being the customer facing strategy, and the second was the
internal operations strategy. We had decided that our customer strategy initially would be to sell high
profit margin products and manage lower volumes. This would start to shift to a more flexible and
adaptive strategy as our company began to understand the customer s needs. We shifted to targeting
each specific customer with the highest demand products and would eventually trim our offerings by
removing two of the products that had the lowest service

Greek Religion By Walter Burkert
In Greek Religion , Walter Burkert informs his readers mostly about the Greeks religious beliefs. In
section one, Burkert begins to discuss the history of the Early Bronze Age, such as the vocabulary of
Indo European and the religion of the Minoan Mycenaeans. He mentions the different cult places
which include: caves, temples, graves, as well as peak, tree, and house sanctuaries. For example, a cult
includes the Minoan Tree and Pillar Cult; the pillars and trees were sacred, however, they were not
worshipped. He also goes on to explain about Minoan Deities, Mycenaean Gods and Linear B, and the
Dark Age ; he talks about the evidence that exists of Linear A and Linear B, such as the tablets
recovered from Crete and Knossos. In section two, Burkert describes the different kinds of rituals and
symbols; the bull was a type of symbol from the Hellenistic tradition, and there were festivals that
celebrated the bull itself. Different kinds of rituals Burkert explains include: animal sacrifice, blood
and fire rituals, gift offering and libation, votive offerings, prayer, dancing, hymns, masks, festivals,
and purification. The Anthesteria Festival is described in depth, such as that it occurred in the
springtime for three days; additionally, the reason for the festival is described. Burkert mentions
different types of sanctuaries like the altar and the temple. Also, Greek Religion describes certain
philosophers outlook toward religion. In section three, he focuses his attention

Analysis Of The Documentary Jesus Camp
Jesus Camp Response
Arguments can be extremely frustrating. Sometimes no matter how accurate a particular perspective
appears to someone, it may be impossible to convince another to feel the same. The differences in
fundamental values between people are responsible for the differences the formation of opinions. The
manner in which people adopt these core beliefs is no mystery, and is explored in the documentary
Jesus Camp. Humans are social animals, and cultural systems have been established since the
beginning of humanity to strengthen the quality of interactions. Human babies are unable to raise
themselves, and require the care of adults to foster. Throughout the process of development, children
adopt the culture presented to them by adults. Children, who are psychologically developing, are
extremely malleable in comparison to adults. This makes them an important focus for an adult
generation looking to succeed their beliefs. This film inspects the strong Evangelical upbringing
several families practice with their children, portraying this in an unflattering manner. All cultures are
different, and these differences should be praised as well as made compatible with modern society as
much as possible.
Indoctrination should be accepted because it is unavoidable and only seems negative to an outsider.
Indoctrination is not exclusive to Evangelicals, and occurs in every culture. Adults are fully aware that
indoctrinating children is very effective in establishing permanent

How Did St Thomas Aquinas Influence Religion
There are many philosophical influences in religion as well as many religious influences in many
types of philosophies. Many figures in history have shaped both of these fields and contributed to
them in many ways including belief systems regarding the nature of the world, human existence, and
ethics. Many religious figures focused more on religious endeavors more than philosophical ones.
Jesus of Nazareth and Gautama Buddha are two examples of spiritual figures who have religious
followings even until this day. It should be pointed out that many people view the Buddha s teachings
as more of a philosophy instead of a religion. One figure who was influenced by religion and at the
same time, contributed many theories and ideas towards the discipline of philosophy is Saint Thomas
Aquinas. Saint Thomas Aquinas is an example of how a very religious figure/leader could reason
philosophically, generate new ideas and concepts in philosophy, and influence a religion as whole in
more ways than one. He showed that philosophy and religion can coexist to serve the same purpose,
which is understanding ourselves and truth.
Thomas Aquinas was born around 1225 in Lombardy, Italy, to the Countess of Teano. When Aquinas
was five years of age, he was sent to the monastery Montecassino to study with Benedictine monks.
Aquinas spent his time there until he was thirteen years old. As a result of major political unrest,
Montecassino turned into a battle site and he had no

Essay On Isotopes
Isotopes from Greenhouse Gases and Air Toxics
Introduction
In recent years, the oil and natural gas industry has continued to expand to populated areas, thus
growing a concern for nearby communities regarding volatile organic compounds (VOCs) air toxics
and human exposure.1 Current screening methods to determine exposure of toxic VOCs such as the
family of Benzene, Toluene, Ethylene and Xylene (BTEX) requires a traditional gas chromatograph
(GC), which requires high energy use and its bulky size is not ideal for long term field deployment
and real time measurements. Sensor technology advancements have enabled the use of low cost
devices to measure VOCs, but require additional techniques for chemical speciation for BTEX
identification (i.e. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
VOCs are more complex hydrocarbons than CH4 that are emitted from biogenic and anthropogenic
sources. Biogenic VOCs include alkanes, alkenes, alcohols, aldehydes, etc. Generally, anthropogenic
VOCs are diverse and also include aromatic hydrocarbons, most importantly benzene, toluene,
ethylene and the isomers of xylene as major components (up to 75%).5 To say the least, there is a
wide chemical composition variety of VOCs released to the atmosphere. For my project centered in
the oil and gas industry, I will focus on the aromatic compounds BTEX. Studying the isotopic ratio of
VOCs can provide insight into the photochemical transformation and physical processing of ambient
VOCs.10 Recent isotope studies on VOCs has shown the stable isotopes of C within the compounds is
consistent with the kinetic isotope effect.10 Thus, the fractionation between the emission and the
observation can determine the extent of photochemical processing, other words the photochemical
age.10 The study of isotopes within VOCs has recently developed with Rudolph, et al., 1997 as a
method was introduced to measure VOCs at low mixing ratios (3 to 5 orders of magnitude smaller
than CH4).

Critical Analysis Of Richard III
Writer s statement
William Shakespeare s, Richard III explores the idea of power. It s shown how power corrupts and
controls characters throughout the play. There are many comparisons that could be drawn between
Richard III as Machiavellian leader as alluded to in the transformative piece. The main reason for this
is the extremes that Richard would go to, to assert himself in power. The transformative piece aimed
to explore how this influenced Richard s reception when elected into power. One of the main
motivations behind the characterisations of Richard in this transformative piece, is drawn from when
Richard announces in the original play, And therefore, since I cannot prove a lover, To entertain these
fair well spoken days, I am determined to prove a villain, And hate the idle pleasures of these days.
(1.1.??) From this quote the character of Richard had to be created to be cruel with no regard for the
things that make us human, this was done through how widely known his behaviour is in the article.
The Machiavellian idea is also drawn from Richard as he cannot prove a lover , which leads him to
draw on fear as a method of control. This speech is sinister yet incredibly determined, it acted as the
driving hand behind many of Richard s brutal actions, because whilst his actions are morally wrong,
he is working towards a goal. This idea laid the grounds for the investigation Richards s
determination.
The transformative is written in The Economists, which is well

Comparing Hardships And Challenges In Refugee, By Alan Gratz
No one is prepared for war and the most challenging decisions you will have to make to survive.
Although each character in Refugee, by Alan Gratz, is from a different time and place, they each share
similar hardships and challenges in their experiences, such as they were all forced from their homes,
they all lose a family member, and their problems begin in their own country.
All of the characters were forced from their home sometime during this book. Josef, a German Jew
during WW2 had to leave his home due to the violence brought by the Nazis. Josef didn t want to
leave. Germany was his home. (6). Josef s father was taken to a concentration camp and was released
6 months after but only if he left the country within 14 days. Josef knew it was unfair, that because he
was Jewish that he must be punished for it. Later, Josef settled in France but the Nazis have begun to
take over most parts of France. One of Rachel Landau s children would go free, one of her children
would go into the camps (291). The Germans find Josef, his mother, and Ruthie his sister and are
asked for their papers which have a big stamped J on it for Jew. His mother tries to bribe the soldiers
but they say it is only enough for one of her children to go free. Josef senses that this is the time to
finally become a man and save his sister from the horrors inside of those camps. He sacrifices himself
so Ruthie can escape the Nazis and is taken to the concentration camps with his mother. Josef and His
mother, died in the camp and never got to see Ruthie again.
Isabel, is a girl living in Cuba during Fidel Castro s reign and the economic crisis. Early in the book, a
riot occurred against the government s unfair rights and that night Fidel gave the people to leave the
country without punishment. Papi had to leave Cuba. Tonight (29). Isabel s father had been the one to
initiate the riot and the police noticed this action. They said they were going to find him and put him
in prison. Isabel s family knew they must leave the country. After they leave the country on their
neighbors raft they can finally see Miami s shore but the United States coast guard begins to notice
them. don t stop rowing for shore! Isabel s grandfather yelled to

Public Shaming As A Punishment
The idea of public shaming as a punishment is an idea that goes back centuries in history. In modern
times the setting of public shaming has shifted from outside in public to inside on the internet. People
are attacked and publically shamed for all to see through social media platforms such as Facebook,
Twitter and much more. The idea of media shaming is an important idea to consider and to question
about the effects that it has on a person s life. People should care about the issue because it can happen
to anyone, at anytime, from just one simple mistake. The idea of public shaming through the internet
is not an acceptable form of punishment in modern society because it can cause deep and long lasting
psychological damage, cause people to lose their jobs, and allows the perpetrators to hide behind a
screen and remain unidentified.
One of the major reasons why public shaming is not an acceptable form of punishment in today s
society is because it can cause deep and long lasting psychological damage. Usually after someone has
received their punishment they can move on with their lives but when someone is humiliated they get
psychological damage with effects that can stay with them for the rest of their lives. In the article Hide
and Seek, Neel Burton says that, Humiliation is traumatic and often hushed up, whereas
embarrassment, given enough time, can be sublimed into a humorous anecdote. What Neel is really
saying here is that although someone can be embarrassed, the

Efficacy Of Antidepressant Medication Therapy
Cuijpers (2017) identifies that over the last 40 years there have been approximately 500 randomized
trials looking at the efficacy of treating depression with psychological methods. The studies chosen
provide insight into the lack of efficacy of antidepressant medication therapy, as well as the
effectiveness of psychological therapies. The evidence provided in the studies appears to support one
another. Compare and Contrast Fournier et al. (2010) and Barbui et al. (2011) both concluded that
there is a deficiency of support for the use of antidepressant medications in adults with minor
depression. Fournier et al. (2010) found that antidepressant medication was not helpful in patients
with a Hamilton Depression Rating Scale score less ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Collective Wisdom The collective wisdom across studies supports the use of cognitive behavioral
therapy for minor depression. However, there are limitations to prescribing cognitive behavioral
therapy frequently for the first line treatment of depression. The primary limitation identified is the
inadequate number of therapists to administer cognitive behavioral therapy (Linde et al., 2015).
Additional research is attempting to identify successful methods of administering cognitive behavioral
therapy in a remote fashion (Linde et al., 2015). Overall, there is an agreement that patients with
minor depressive symptoms should be prescribed a form of psychotherapy. Cognitive behavioral
therapy is shown to be favorable over the other types of psychotherapies for depression treatment.
However, some bias may exist due to cognitive behavioral therapy being the most studied form of
psychotherapy. The evidence shows that cognitive behavioral therapy should be prescribed as a first
line treatment. However, the large number of antidepressants prescribed by primary providers
demonstrates a disconnect between evidence and practice. After reviewing the most up to date
literature and APA guidelines (2013) the consensus is that psychotherapy should be prescribed for
outpatients with minor depressive symptoms. Sufficient evidence suggests that cognitive behavioral
therapy should be prescribed for all patients with minor depressive symptoms. Application

Frontier War Research Paper
The frontier wars in Australia (1788 1934) were considered as a series of a conflict waged between the
European settlers and the Indigenous Australians which lasted for a span of 146 years. However, the
British colonisation in various locations of Australia has created the population of Aborigines in
jeopardy by capturing their land and heritage. As a result of the violent massacre, the indigenous
fatalities has reached significantly to a great extend ranged between20,000and 30,00(challenge

as a morally justifiable war or not. Some people believe that Australia has a uniquely peaceful history
of settlement.Although, for the last 20 years,a new wave of historians, such as Henry Reynold argued

The United States And The Islamic Republic Of Iran
The bilateral relationship between the United States and the Islamic Republic of Iran has dated back to
the mid 19th century when Iran was then recognized as Persia. For some time, through the 1800s and
well into the 20th century, the two had a mostly positive relation. These positive relations ended with
the arrival of the 1979 Iranian revolution, which carried a heavy anti American sentiment. The
following three decades resulted in continuing degradation for the relationship amongst the two
nations. These relations digressed to a point where currently neither country has an embassy or
ambassador to the opposite country. At this time, the only influence Iran has within America s capitol
is in section of Pakistan s embassy. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Economic Sanctions In the year 2015, trade between the two countries is all but nonexistent. The
United States has placed a multitude of sanctions on Iran because of a variety of reasons. For the past
thirty five years, the White House has issued executive orders that have continued to split the two
governments. Beginning in 1979, when radicals in Iran s capitol, Tehran, stormed the United States
Embassy and took American citizens hostage, executive orders have frequently been handed down
aimed to curb Iran s actions. In 1979, President Carter expressed that the situation in Iran had
deteriorated to a point where the nation s security, economy, and foreign policy were in jeopardy.
Because of this, Executive order 12170 was issued stating, (President Carter) hereby order(s) blocked
all property and interests in property of the Government of Iran, its instrumentalities and controlled
entities and the Central Bank of Iran which are or become subject to the jurisdiction of the United
States or which are in or come within the possession or control of persons subject to the jurisdiction of
the United States. 1 This order was the first of many that would later be given which further separated
the two countries. Following Carter s post Iranian Revolution order, his successor, President Reagan
issued Executive Order 12163 which, due to the

defines the unique purpose that sets one hotel or hotel company apart from others. It expresses the
underlying philosophy that gives meaning and direction to hotel policies. Hotel employees may derive

Although procedures may differ from hotel to hotel with regard to reservations handling, maintenance,
processing, and confirmation, the purpose is still the same: to accommodate guest requests in a
manner that maximises hotel occupancy and room revenue. Computers can be programmed to provide
reservations agents with information on the types of rooms available (including room rate, view,
furnishings, amenities, and bed size) for a given day. Some computer systems can even provide agents
with the exact room number if necessary. Computers can provide reservations agents with a great deal
of information on the hotel, some of which should be provided to the guest on request. Computers
have helped transform reservations agents into true salespeople. Reservations agents should convey
the desirability, features, and benefits of staying at the hotel, rather than simply processing an
accommodation request. It is no longer satisfactory for a reservations agent to defer to the front desk
to determine a room s rate at registration. Reservations agents should confirm the rate over the
telephone at the time the guest makes the reservation. In fact, most guests requesting a reservation will
not book a room without receiving a confirmed rate. The agent should reinforce the guest s decision to
stay at the property and thank the guest for his or her business. It is essential for reservations

  • 2. Creon s Use Of Justice In Antigone Antigone contrasts two types of justice and law. The law of men and statues on one hand, and religious law on the other. Because of the centrality of fate and the rule of the Gods, in the lives of the main characters of the play, religious rites and traditions are elevated to the status of law. These forms of law are used in Antigone more than any of the other plays written in the Oedipus trilogy, in which Antigone s standards of divine justice clash with Creon s will as the head of state. Antigone, who is very selfless in this play; often puts herself in harm s way so that her brother can have a peaceful afterlife. Because of this, Creon ruined his chance to fix his fate, and Creon s wife quickly without hesitation kills herself after finding out what he did to Antigone. His response is then, Take me away, quickly, out of sight. I don t even exist I m one (1445 1446). • 6. The Concept Of Modernity, And Charles Baudelaire And Karl... Modernity is the dynamic relationship between culture, polity, society and economy. Even though each of these concepts of modernity are often followed in a relatively autonomous path of development, these institutional realms is usually influenced by each other (Madsen, 2002). Two modern philosophers who introduce the concept of modernity are Charles Baudelaire and Karl Marx. On the one hand, Charles Baudelaire explores modernity through the notion of a strange man. The strange man follows dandyism as a philosophy of life against uncertainty. Modernity is described as a desired quality of dandyism, whose mysterious institution creates a new reality of being (Baudelaire, 1995). On the other hand, Karl Marx identifies modernity in the rise of the bourgeoisie epoch, suggesting a cosmopolitan freedom. Similarly to dandyism, cosmopolitan freedom strives for the limitation of uncertainty and the creation of an insensitive reality (Marx Engels,2008). However, modernity is condemned to failure since uncertainty is a part of human nature. Therefore, uncertainty cannot be removed from the human condition. Nevertheless, this discussion will argue that the real problem with modernity is its exploitation of freedom and its misunderstanding around the concept of ambivalence. If modernity embraces intellectual ambivalence, then humanity will find true freedom. Charles Baudelaire explores the concept of modernity through the notion of a strange man (Baudelaire, 1995, p.5). • 7. The Rose For Emily Comparison The GreenLeaf, by Flannery O Connor, and The Rose for Emily, written by William Faulkner, are different in many ways but also similar. The books both have similar literary devices being used, the era the books were staged in, and how the authors portrayed southern ideals . Flannery used smiles, such as when O Connor wrote, ..hand would dangle from her wrist like the head of a broken lily. , where she compared the hand of Mrs.May and a broken lily s head. O Connor also shown symbolism by the bull stabbing Mrs.GreenLeaf in the heart with it s horn, while earlier in the story she stated Oh Jesus, stab me in the heart! , this shows Jesus stabbing her as she said in her demand and symbolizes the crucifixion of Jesus. In the beginning of the story, O Connor displays symbolism by comparing the bull to Christ. So once again Flannery O Connor is bringing religion into play. O Connor is well known for utilizing being raised Catholic in the South in her books. Miss O Connor puts a piece of herself in all her short stories. Mrs. May shares this Christian aspect that Flannery establishes in all her stories. She conveys this by always stating how she is a lady of God, even though the statements that she makes do not manifest that. Mrs.May claims this on multiple occasions as if she is trying to convince herself how christianly she is. The Rose for Emily also contains multiple literary devices; such as, symbolism, the aged house Emily lives in shows her isolation, she does not leave that much, because she is hiding a terrible secret in the upstairs room. Emily only wanted a home, she could call her own and grow old with someone she loved in, which she thought was Home Barron but tragically he died and stored his body in the upstairs room, this is the reason why her house was smelling so horrible. The townspeople had to sprinkle lime on her lawn to terminate the smell. The reader is to think that she killed him because she loved him and wanted the control that she never had, because her father abused her and he was all she had before he died, so she wanted to always have Barron. A Study Of Current System Essay 2.1: Study of current system The current system consists of manually carrying out all the tasks such as : telephonic communications regarding need of blood, : searching the blood from storage, : retrieving the required blood group, : performing necessary documentations and : delivering the blood. This raises the cost and time required to a considerable extent. Moreover, the efficiency is reduced . Ending the long, horrific seven year war. Upon Japan s admitted defeat, the U.S. invaded and took occupation of the country for seven years. Though assumed to be a distressing circumstance and expected total domination, it was a benefit to Japan, for the United States to take control of them, rather than being a disadvantage. Many Japanese people still felt bitter about the atomic bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki, which they tried to exploit the immorality of it by writing books, bashing the U.S. President Truman and the Americans. However, the U.S. government during the occupation period censored it. Surprisingly, the American occupation wasn t such an unpleasant experience the Japanese anticipated it to be. The occupation proved to be an important, constructive phase of Japanese history, a veritable rebirth, comparable only to the Meiji Restoration (Reischauer 222). What the Japanese expected the U.S. to be a vindictive and relentless sovereignty, were basically friendly and fair minded people. The Japanese, for their part, were far from the fanatical fighters the Americans had come to know on the battlefield, and proved to be a docile, disciplined, cooperative people at home (Reichauer 222). The United States dominating of Japan transformed the brutal war charged with overt racism into an amicable peace in which the issue of race seemed to have disappeared. The army of occupation became an undisputed figure of authority, and the government and its people obeyed without question. Since militarism and authoritarianism lead Japan into disaster, many Japanese believed that the democratic rule the Americans eulogized must be the correct way of governing. They enthusiastically ... The Aristotelian s geocentric worldview, that the earth is the motionless center of the universe, was deeply ingrained into the minds of the people and the teachings of the church. These men take Aristotle s good name and drag it through the mud by claiming that every one of his sayings is absolute truth, rather than the best possible hypothesis he could have made with his level of technology. By undermining the arguments of his opponents in this way, Galileo frees himself up to defer to Aristotle s logical principles without invoking quotations of his conclusions. While Galileo holds little respect for those who take Aristotle s theories at face value, he shows no lack of respect for the great philosopher himself. Galileo applauds the fact that Aristotle s works are examined and closely studied, and only blame(s) submitting to him in such a way that one blindly subscribes to all his assertions and accepts them as unquestionable dictates (200). Galileo s arguments for heliocentrism would convince any layman of their truth, but his opponents are so set in their ways that they would be unwilling to even listen to his concepts. Declaration Of Sentiments Analysis Like any major changes that happen within a society, there are usually people who have fought long and hard, or perhaps, have held powerful positions which enabled them to facilitate change. There were many women in history who were brave enough to speak against their religion and offer new teachings, women who were bold enough to bear arms, women in power who used their voice to speak against sexisism, and a woman who understood what it meant to live in two cultures and plainly prefer one over the other. Stanton had a large family so she had little time to travel and lecture, (Kendall 41). Stanton wanted to share her own ideas with other people, but her father and husband didn t approve of her sharing any speeches or writings in public. Stanton and Anthony wrote an article together on divorces and how they hated males. This was especially a big shocker to people back in the 1800s (Rossi 15). • 17. Examples Of Satire In The Butter Battle Book Satire of The Butter Battle Book. Dr. Seuss, an amazing writer who showed the world of satire and literature to all ages. Books such as The Lorax, The Foot book and The Butter Battle Book are perfect examples of that. Seuss, a man known for his creative vision and use of words, made these books a satire gold mine! We already know about his rhymes but Seuss was also extremely good at using exaggeration. Don t forget his amazing use of onomatopoeias or his profound use of repetition. I could go on forever but the fact is Dr Seuss and his creative mind has an amazing talent for using satire to make his books come to life. To make his books stick around for so long and to open the minds of his reader to the world of satire and the amazing world of literature. This creative talent is most clearly shown by the uses of exaggeration all throughout the book The Butter Battle. Whether it s the fact that these two races are fighting over what side they butter their bread. Or the fact that each side believes one is worse because of that fact. No matter where you look in this book, there will always be a use of exaggeration! One being, So you cant trust a Zook who spreads his bread underneath! Every Zook must be watched! He has kinks in his soul! (Seuss). This quote is a perfect example of exaggeration, it s very obvious that no one would have kinks in their soul because of how they butter their bread. Or that every Zook has to be watched! Another great example would be the line, I ll blow you up he yelled, into pork and wee beans (Seuss). Now we all know that you cant blow someone up into pork and wee beans! It s just physically impossible but that doesn t stop Dr. Seuss from using it and using it effectively. To sum this all up, it s very easy to see that exaggeration is just one of the few pieces of satire Dr. Seuss uses. But it is used extremely effective and makes the reader more interested and gives them a few laughs in the process! In addition to exaggeration, Seuss has an incredible knack for using repetition that makes the reader more engaged. The differences in fundamental values between people are responsible for the differences the formation of opinions. The manner in which people adopt these core beliefs is no mystery, and is explored in the documentary Jesus Camp. Humans are social animals, and cultural systems have been established since the beginning of humanity to strengthen the quality of interactions. Human babies are unable to raise themselves, and require the care of adults to foster. Throughout the process of development, children adopt the culture presented to them by adults. Children, who are psychologically developing, are extremely malleable in comparison to adults. This makes them an important focus for an adult generation looking to succeed their beliefs. This film inspects the strong Evangelical upbringing several families practice with their children, portraying this in an unflattering manner. Many figures in history have shaped both of these fields and contributed to them in many ways including belief systems regarding the nature of the world, human existence, and ethics. Many religious figures focused more on religious endeavors more than philosophical ones. Jesus of Nazareth and Gautama Buddha are two examples of spiritual figures who have religious followings even until this day. It should be pointed out that many people view the Buddha s teachings as more of a philosophy instead of a religion. One figure who was influenced by religion and at the same time, contributed many theories and ideas towards the discipline of philosophy is Saint Thomas Aquinas. Saint Thomas Aquinas is an example of how a very religious figure/leader could reason philosophically, generate new ideas and concepts in philosophy, and influence a religion as whole in more ways than one. There are many comparisons that could be drawn between Richard III as Machiavellian leader as alluded to in the transformative piece. The main reason for this is the extremes that Richard would go to, to assert himself in power. The transformative piece aimed to explore how this influenced Richard s reception when elected into power. One of the main motivations behind the characterisations of Richard in this transformative piece, is drawn from when Richard announces in the original play, And therefore, since I cannot prove a lover, To entertain these fair well spoken days, I am determined to prove a villain, And hate the idle pleasures of these days. (1.1.??) From this quote the character of Richard had to be created to be cruel with no regard for the things that make us human, this was done through how widely known his behaviour is in the article. The Machiavellian idea is also drawn from Richard as he cannot prove a lover , which leads him to draw on fear as a method of control. This speech is sinister yet incredibly determined, it acted as the driving hand behind many of Richard s brutal actions, because whilst his actions are morally wrong, he is working towards a goal. In modern times the setting of public shaming has shifted from outside in public to inside on the internet. People are attacked and publically shamed for all to see through social media platforms such as Facebook, Twitter and much more. The idea of media shaming is an important idea to consider and to question about the effects that it has on a person s life. People should care about the issue because it can happen to anyone, at anytime, from just one simple mistake. The idea of public shaming through the internet is not an acceptable form of punishment in modern society because it can cause deep and long lasting psychological damage, cause people to lose their jobs, and allows the perpetrators to hide behind a screen and remain unidentified. One of the major reasons why public shaming is not an acceptable form of punishment in today s society is because it can cause deep and long lasting psychological damage. Usually after someone has received their punishment they can move on with their lives but when someone is humiliated they get psychological damage with effects that can stay with them for the rest of their lives. Collective Wisdom The collective wisdom across studies supports the use of cognitive behavioral therapy for minor depression. However, there are limitations to prescribing cognitive behavioral therapy frequently for the first line treatment of depression. The primary limitation identified is the inadequate number of therapists to administer cognitive behavioral therapy (Linde et al., 2015). Additional research is attempting to identify successful methods of administering cognitive behavioral therapy in a remote fashion (Linde et al., 2015). Overall, there is an agreement that patients with minor depressive symptoms should be prescribed a form of psychotherapy. Cognitive behavioral therapy is shown to be favorable over the other types of psychotherapies for depression treatment. However, some bias may exist due to cognitive behavioral therapy being the most studied form of psychotherapy. The evidence shows that cognitive behavioral therapy should be prescribed as a first line treatment.
