Quality Improvement Data
Quality improvement data: Using QI instruments to address high readmission rates and medication
errors Keeping track of quality improvement data is essential for all organizations: not simply for for
profit entities, but also for not for profit organizations such as hospitals. Patient readmission rates and
medication errors are serious issues at many healthcare organizations. Using quality improvement
instruments such as a fishbone (Ishikawa) diagram: which can identify many possible causes for an
effect or problem and sorts ideas into useful categories and a Pareto chart, which shows on a bar graph
which factors are more significant can help pinpoint the root causes of chronic problems that seem to
arise from a multitude of factors (Cause analysis tools, 2013, ASQ). The standard benchmark used by
the Centers for Medicare Medicaid Services (CMS) is the 30 day readmission rate. Rates at the 80th
percentile or lower are considered optimal by CMS ¦A hospital s readmission rate is calculated by
dividing the total number of patients readmitted within seven days of discharge by the total number of
hospital discharges. (Readmission rates, 2013, Mayo Clinic). Keeping readmission rates low is
essential for the hospital to demonstrate a commitment to providing quality care at low cost and a high
readmission rate also can result in reduced Medicare reimbursements as well as reflect negatively
upon the hospital s PR when such reports are released (Can hospital

Locker Searches In Schools
*Under school district drug testing policies, athletes and students participating in extracurricular
activities can be subjected to drug tests without individualized suspicion. Lockers and Other School
Owned Property Courts have singled out school lockers as generating a lower expectation of privacy,
frequently distinguishing locker searches on the basis that a locker is school property, and students do
not retain exclusive possession. This is particularly likely when they have signed a form
acknowledging that the locker is school property and subject to inspection. Under the view of joint
control, school officials have been allowed to inspect lockers or even to consent to locker searches by
law enforcement officers. For example, a California appellate court held a warrantless search of a
student s locker was justified. After a SRO received a tip about a student possibly possessing a
weapon, a police officer ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
These codes or laws may establish that reasonable suspicion is required prior to conducting a search.
In a Pennsylvania case, the state supreme court relied on the T.L.O. decision and the student code in
establishing a legitimate expectation of privacy in lockers. The code specified: Prior to a locker search
a student shall be notified and given an opportunity to be present. However, where school authorities
have a reasonable suspicion that the locker contains materials which pose a threat to the health,
welfare, and safety of students in the school, students lockers may be searched without prior warning
(emphasis added). The court held that students possessed a reasonable expectation of privacy in their
lockers; yet, in balancing students privacy interests and school officials concerns, the court found a
school wide blanket search reasonable based on the heightened awareness of drug activity that
permeated the entire school and the compelling concern about drug

Argumentative Essay On Tupac Death
Tupac Shakur was born on June 16, 1971 until 25 years ago had disappeared from his fans, and family
members. Tupac Shakur was also known as 2Pac, selling over 75 million records worldwide, also
bestselling, and influential rappers of all times. On September 7, 1996, Shakur was fatally shot in
drive by shooting in Las Vegas, Nevada. He was taken to Southern Nevada hospital where he passed
six days later. According to the coroner s report, Shakur was 6 feet and weighed 215 pounds, but he
actually was 5.10 and weighted 165 pounds. Many say no one really saw Tupac in the hospital at all,
so there was no autopsy. Legally an autopsy is required to be taken right after death has occurred.
Multiple stories upon Tupac s disappearance has cause many in confusion and disappointment. Many
confusion had lead that Tupac was rushed to the hospital by an ambulance. Also, during an interview
Suge Knight states that he took Tupac to the hospital himself rather than anyone else. Lastly, an
unknown lady who was interviewed on the news had told the reporter that she had saw Tupac going to
a helicopter. There has been multiple theories that he be alive and living a secret living, which now
police may have him in witness protection. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Many put hidden messages in songs, when you slowly listen to them the hidden message appears. At
one point Tupac himself insisted of taking your time when listening to his song, and once said Yes I m

governmental group about a song they had recorded including a secret message stating that they have
killed Tupac. As we know that is just another murder confession that just throws off the whole case. In
addition Suge has added that Tupac is still living, and that s why there has been no arrest for Tupac
murder. Uncertain of how serious he was he also stated he is on an island enjoying a Cuban

Determining The Gravitational Acceleration At The Earth s...
The gravitational acceleration depends on only the mass of the gravitating object M and the distance d
from it. Notice that the mass of the falling object m has been cancelled out.
To calculate its average speed you divide the distance travelled by the time it takes to travel that
distance. The speed is usually measured in kilometres per hours (km/h) or, in the case, metre per
second (m/s). (Science World 10, Macmillan P. Stannard and K. Williamson)
Hypothesis:
That the acceleration for a falling object towards the surface of the Earth is said to be 9.8 m/s/s. This is
justified by the research above.
Aim:
To determine the gravitational acceleration at the Earth s surface by calculating the acceleration of an
object as it is dropped from a surface towards the ground.
Variable:
Manipulated Variable: Time
Respondent Variable: Distance tape travelled
Controlled Variables:
Controlled Variable Method of Control
Height Experiment carried out at the same height
Width of ticker tape Same width of tape
Location Surface of the Earth and it fell through air
Clear Path There was nothing in the way of the object
Weight used to pull tape The weight was always the same
Procedure:
1) Cut a piece of ticker tape 1 meter long; make sure it fits your ticker timer.
2) Check that the carbon paper in the ticker timer is up the right way and that the ticker timer is in the
right settings.
3) Plug in the ticker timer and test it on a small piece of

Community Service Statement: Briefly describe your extra curricular activities which demonstrate
community service, leadership, and/or volunteerism. Outline your contribution, the time commitment

Calgary Undergraduate Math. As a representative, three to four hours per week, or forty eight to sixty

questions regarding club events and services, such as tutoring, which are offered by the club. In
addition, at the end of each semester, I lead the organization of one final exam review session for a
chosen entry level mathematics course, which requires meetings with both the professor of the course
and the chosen instructor who will lead the review. Overall, the review sessions require two to three
hours of preparation, including sitting outside of the review admitting members and providing
membership to new members. As a result of being part of the club, I have learned a few very valuable
lessons. First, I have acquired better communication skills when conveying information to different
audiences. Disseminating information on club events to students requires a different tone than giving
the information to a professor, and I have valued the opportunity to become familiar with how
professional and informal communications differ. In addition, by working with other members during

1. It is necessary to conduct random sampling within a habitat as we found more accurate the results
withdrawing the influences of humans and let on the investigator to analyze and describe the structure
and function of it with the obtained data. 2. In my opinion, accurate is when you have a measurement
and you are more close to the actual value, on the other hand, precision is when you have repeated
measurements and they do not have to be close to the real value, for example when you are doing an
experiment and you have to do three trials and they are giving you the same result but at the same
time, they are far away from the true value. I prefer to have in my sampling accuracy as my result

HO: There is not significant difference in abundance among the four species calculated from the
transect sampling. HA: There is significant difference in abundance among the four species calculated
from the transect sampling. I got a p value of 0.16, which is greater than the alpha (= 0.05).Therefore,
we fail to reject the null hypothesis. Concluding that there will be not significant difference in
abundance among the four species calculated from the transect sampling. No, the estimates from the
individual group did not match the combined class estimates even though groups 5 and 6 had the same
values in the quadrat sampling. In this case, the group with the highest estimate population size is
group 1, which is higher than the mean calculated. On the other hand, group 4 has the lowest estimate
population size among all the groups. In addition, group 2 has a lower estimation number except for
specie A, and group 3 has a lower estimation number as well except for specie D. 1. In conclusion,
given the true size of each species population, the sampling methods that obtained results that were
more accurate was quadrat as this method is very convenient when you are going to test population
sizes with limited mobility. In this case, I will increase the precision of my sampling methods if I had
to do this experiment again using the quadrat data several times in order to avoid tendency but also the

Jane Eyre Settings
Mysterious, complex, and utterly captivating, Charlotte Bronte s Jane Eyre constantly leaves the
reader with more questions than answers. The book consists of constant plot twists, all of which
eventually make sense in the end. Perhaps what is most fascinating about Jane Eyre is the setting
behind it. Throughout the novel, Jane Eyre travels to many places over multiple years. Through
analysis it is clear that these different settings relate to each period and development in her life.
Commonly contrasting and seemingly insignificant, the details behind locations such as Thornfield
and Ferndean allow Bronte to develop Jane as a character as well as create a deeper meaning behind
her work. Thornfield and Ferndean are contrasting in both their literal and metaphorical meanings.
When the compound words of each title are broken apart, additional insight can be found. The Thorn
in Thornfield gives off a negative vibe as not many enjoy encountering thorns. Despite this, when Jane
first arrives at Thornfield, she is ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Thornfield is a grand mansion when compared to the countryside manor of Ferndean. However, its is
Ferndean which feels more homely. This is due to Thornfield s cold manor setting, the appearance of
the building itself being uninviting. Ferndean is a merry and carefree atmosphere when compared to
Thornfield. Jane describes her time at Ferndean in the following, Most of the morning was spent in the
open air. I led him out of the wet and wild wood into some cheerful fields: I described to him how
brilliantly green they were; how the flowers and the hedges looked refreshed; how sparklingly blue
was the sky (478). The images presented are light and insouciant. Bronte also writes this time at
Ferndean as in the spring, a common symbol for rebirth. Despite its ornateness, Thornfield is an
atmosphere of depression, clearly a dark time for

Space Shuttle Challenger Case Study Solution
Executive Summary
On January 28, 1986, hundreds of spectators on the ground and millions of Americans watching on
television witnessed the disaster of space shuttle Challenger. The space shuttle Challenger broke apart
after 73 seconds it was launched killing all seven crew members aboard, including Christa McAuliffe,
a teacher from New Hampshire. Christa McAuliffe was chosen from thousands of candidates and
planned to teach lessons from space to children of school age around the country.
Based on investigation conducted by the Roger s Commission, the O ring seals in Challenger s solid
rocket booster (SRB) became brittle due to extreme cold temperature that caused the failure to fully
seal the joint of the right SRB.

Challenger was rescheduled to launch on January 28, 1986 at 9:38 AM Eastern Time at Kennedy
Space Center, Florida
2.0 CIRCUMSTANCES BEFORE LAUNCH One day before the launch, NASA personnel became
concerned because of the predicted Florida weather on the early hours of January 28 would be
unusually cold, the temperature was expected to be as low as 20°F (Vaughan, 1997).
Marshall s Solid Rocket Motor Manager contacted Thiokol, the manufacturer of the Solid Rocket
Motor (SRM) in Utah to review the performance of the SRM on cold temperature. The Thiokol
engineers expressed their concern that the cold temperature would make the rubber O ring lose the
resiliency that may cause failure to seal the joints of the SRB, which is mission safety critical. This
was a known issue based on several previous launches and concerns that had been raised between
Marshall and Thiokol. This issue prompted to set three location telephone conference to discuss the
situation. Managers and engineers from Thiokol, Marshall Flight Space Flight Center, and Kennedy
Space Center participated in the discussion. Thiokol s recommendation was to delay the launch until
noon or after. More discussions took place that involved more personnel from all three participating
locations and engineering data containing technical analysis of the problem was provided. Based on
the technical analysis, Thiokol s conclusion, launch at any temperature below 53°F was

Applying Sanitary Products For Australia s Economic System
My name is Sofian Miu and I am writing to you as a Queenslander and, I specifically, a woman who
menstruates every month. As an abiding citizen I have paid my tax in order for Australia s economic
system to thrive. However, should my choice as a woman of being sanitary really be taxed and
labelled as a luxury ? The government may tax anything materialistic in my possession, but the
government cannot tax my body. Periods are no luxury. No woman asked for a period. Women cannot
choose to menstruate. Despite this, a whole heap of disadvantages have been created for those who do.
By not using sanitary products, it can lead to a number of health risks; jeopardise maintaining a
normal, professional or personal life; and result in public ridicule. However, it is apparent that the
Australian Government disregards this and continues to tax a necessity while at the same time, not
taxing condoms, sunscreen and lubricants (Gleeson, 2016). This issue is a worldwide problem that
needs to be changed. In Queensland and elsewhere, the topic of taxation and sanitary products have
caused an outroar amongst the female population causing much media attention and public debate;
with previous reforms having been proposed by the former Treasurer, Joe Hockey (BBC News, 2015).
However, said proposals have failed to be implemented and enacted. By using sanitary products, our
Government capitalises on misogynist discourse and period shame that has caused us to fear our own
menstrual cycles.

Analysis Of The Movie Interstellar
Interstellar
Interstellar (Obst, Thomas Nolan, 2014) a terrific science fiction story with various elements. A story
about love, family, and friends, but there happens to be a villain whose actions result in shocking
consequences for the other characters. There s a great amount of emotion expressed by each character,
which makes a great impact on how the film s viewed. Escorting us through wormholes, into planets
in other galaxies, and black holes. The characters keep colliding into the properties of relativity, which
thoroughly clarified in numerous scenarios. The movie proceeds sometime in the future where the
Earth is slowly becoming uninhabitable for the reason of a global crop plague, in addition to a second
dust bowl occurring. The science fiction movie Interstellar (Obst, Thomas Nolan, 2014) does an
excellent job portraying advancements in technology, astrophysics and real life issues that could
eventually happen, such as food scarcity and catastrophic natural disasters.
To begin with, the advancements in the movie remains comparable towards today s technology, but
there are a few advances that happen to be far off from doing. The movie offers us an insight of what
mankind can accomplish if we turn in the right direction. Interstellar (Obst, Thomas Nolan, 2014)
shows space stations that sustain a large amount of human life to create or prepare for the next
generation to come. Demonstrates how robots can help grow and maintain crops, also they re also now

The Doctrine Of The Faith
Mavrodes begins by stating the doctrine of the faith, which is that God is omnipotent (capable of
anything). There has been attempts to refute the omnipotence of God by proposing things he cannot
do. One example Mavrodes gives is the creation of a square circle.
In paragraph two Mavrodes goes on to highlight the counterarguments to these attempts by a St.
Thomas. St. Thomas wanted to clarify that the anything that we refer to when we talk about God s
omnipotence should be, construed to refer only to objects, actions, or states of affairs whose
descriptions are not self contradictory. Thomas goes on to say that only things whose nonexistence
might plausibly be attributed to a lack of power would fit under this category. Mavrodes ... Show more

Mavrodes now decides to state that despite this difference, the question of the stone is open to the
same solution as the problem of the square circle. The question of the stone doesn t work because it
depends on asking whether God can perform a self contradictory thing. The answer that he cannot do
such a thing does not damage God s doctrine of omnipotence.
Either God s omnipotence is true, or he lacks such omnipotence. If we are to assume that he is not
omnipotent, the problem of a stone too heavy for God to lift wouldn t contradict itself. If we say that
God is able or unable to create such a stone, his omnipotence may be in question. This too is no more
than an assumption much like the one we started with. Mavrodes then questions whether or not the
assumption of the omnipotence of God always leads to a reductio, when in fact, in may give us a
feasible answer.
When one assumes that God is omnipotent, a stone too heavy to lift then becomes contradictory, as it
then becomes what Mavrodes refers to as, a stone which cannot be lifted by Him whose power is
sufficient for lifting anything. The stone this scenario describes contradicts itself and is entirely
impossible, so we can check it at the door when it comes to questioning God s omnipotence. Not
being capable of logical existence, it s failure to do so can t be due to a lack in the power of God. It is
the omnipotence of

Acts never pass through Congress without opposition. Someone in Congress always opposes a bill,
sometimes without sensible rationale. When a bill affects as many people as the Affordable Care Act

country has split in two over this act. Although the ACA is often the subject of criticism and censure, it
helps millions of people across the country on a daily basis. Susceptible to manipulation, some

Western Techniques In The Searchers
Foreword: It should be noted that while this written piece compares and contrasts The Searchers to the
concept of the stereotypical Western film , the film would most certainly have shaped the mould for
what the stereotypical western was to become. Being one of the largest early Western films to release,
the film s once relatively unique storyline and thematic content have become subject to being
replicated in more recent Western films. Therefore, when comparing the film to the now conventional
Western, it should serve moreso as a critique of the unoriginality of those that contributed to the genre
following The Searchers release.
Introduction
For what is arguably the most successful film to emerge from his long spanning career, film director
John Ford s The Searchers has certainly earned its place as one of the greatest western films of all time
. However, while the film is certainly a staple among other classic 1950s productions, the genre of
Western film does not carry nearly as much weight as it once did over half a century ago. In recent
decades, the genre has grown stale among audiences due to more recent additions, composing of
tedious storylines, repetitive run of the mill characters, and as a whole becoming incongruous with the
evolved social climate which pursues racial equality in the United States. Being grouped with this
genre, The Searchers is often overlooked by ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Millennials In The Workplace
Millennials In The Workplace
The only people who need to be motivated are those who cannot see a future. Simon Sinek on
Millennials in the Workplace was one of the most depressing and it the same time thought provoking
talks I have ever listened to in a long time. Simon O. Sinek is a British/American author, motivational
speaker and marketing consultant, he is the author of three books, and has his own business Sinek
Partners. In Sinek s interview, he introduces four reasons why he believes so many millennials are
unhappy at work: Parenting, technology, impatience and environment. Sinek says millennials are
tough to manage and that they want what every generation before them wanted but the only difference
is that millennials are ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Which bring us to Sinek s other point impatience and how millennials expect instant gratification and
instant praise from doing minimal work.
Millennials are faced with a challenge of instant gratification , Sinek suggests that millennials can
have whatever they want whenever they want. Personally, I believe he is missing a key point; most
young people have been impatient since the beginning of time. Worst case scenario is we re seeing an
increase in suicide rates. The best case scenario is you have an entire population growing up and going
through life and just never really finding joy, they ll never really find deep, deep fulfillment in work or
in life. In my view, the fact that most young people have impatience is a good thing; they will have the
drive to help change the world. I happen to believe there is far too much patience in the workplace and
school right now. We keep teaching young adults the same thing repeatedly instead of speeding up the
process and teaching them to move forward and wanting to complete tasks faster is a good thing. I was
impatient in my current job and kept pushing for what I wanted and was promoted to a management
position in less than a year of working for the company, bypassing that have worked there for year
who were patiently waiting for an opportunity to fall into their laps. The world is changing now and
we need to change with it.

Kant And Jean Jacques Rousseau
Public discourse has commonly been known as the communication of diverse claims between the
public backed by reason and substantive argument. This exchanging of views often happens between
both those who agree with one s sentiment and those who disagree. Since the beginning of
civilization, humans have been given the responsibility of finding a reasonable outcome at the end of
an argument with somebody of opposing views. Through deliberation, both sides of the argument
articulate their reasoning for their views and attempt to find such reasonable outcomes. At times, a
middle ground is unattainable between the two and tension grows. At this point, distinct guidelines
need to be set in regards to the extent in which individuals can exert ... Show more content on

Each person has their personal role in maintaining the common good for those around them and thus
should fulfill it. He believed that fulfilling this task and contributing to society would create happiness
for the individual which would overcome self interest. If those who pursued their personal interests
rather than those of the common good, then they would be seen as selfish and face consequences.
Rousseau believed that each person obtains a natural repugnance to seeing any sentient being,
especially our fellow man, perish or suffer, (DeLue and Dale 190) and that this only changes due to
pity and selfishness. Rousseau did not take kindly to those who were seen as selfish and following self
interest. He stated that a society can banish him [a person who violates citizen norms] not for being
impious but unsociable, for being incapable of sincerely loving the laws and justice, and of sacrificing
his life, if necessary, for his duty, (DeLue and Dale 202). For those who do not pursue the concept of
the common good and question the way of society, they are subject to be removed. A society in which
people contest the civic norm is not one acceptable to Rousseau.
Counter to Jean Jacques Rousseau, Immanuel Kant believed that people should be entitled to
individual freedom and personal interests. Kant aligned with enlightenment thinkers Locke and
Hobbes and was an advocate for rights protecting intellectual freedom. Kant believed that a civil
society required

Henderson And Boswell Analysis
The need to make a work such as Fuente Ovejuna accessible to modern audiences is apparent in
Boswell s non literal translation, done, according to the translator, to avoid a dry text (Stratford
Festival). Boswell did not alter the plot or the time period: the rant about printing presses in Act f,
Scene f remained as such, and Mengo s song in Act II, Scene V, was thematically constant as the
comic relief, in which the gracioso ridicules poets by comparing them to pastry chefs (de Vega 37, 60).
However, the language was what evolved to be appropriate and entertaining for a 21st century

several reviewers, was enthusiastic and included a standing ovation on opening night (Dixon).
Critically, the production also received generally warm reviews, although it was not without its faults.
Critics lauded the chemistry and performance skill of Sara Topham and Jonathan Goad, who played
Laurencia and Frondosa, respectively, emphasizing the work s similarity to Shakespeare in the
challenge and necessity for talented actors to portray a convincing and rational love story in a

Causes and consequences of the battle of Dien Bien Phu
Examine the causes and consequences and consequences of the battle of Dien Bien Phu, 1954, which
affected the lives of the Vietnamese until the 1960 s.
Dien Bien Phu, 1954, was the final battle of the first Indo China war. Lasting 55 days, the battle had
French troops attempt to hold an armed camp against the Viet Minh, who greatly out numbered them.
Dien Bien Phu was situated in a valley in Northern Vietnam, surrounded by mountains. The French
believed this strategic setting would give them an advantage, but the Viet Minh were clever. They

The people of Vietnam had 200 days to choose which side of the border to move to and the Viet Minh
had 300 days to move back to the North. The idea was that a general election would be held in July
1956, at which point the people of Vietnam would vote to decide its fate. This declaration was never
signed, but was simply a verbal agreement, which was opposed by both the US and the State of
Vietnam. This conference was a consequence of the battle of Dien Bien Phu, as it signalled the end of
French control in Indo China.
A second consequence of the battle of Dien Bien Phu was the appointing of Nga Dinh Diem as Prime
Minister of the State of Vietnam. Due to the communist control in the North, Vietnam had gained the
express attention of the United States. Due to their strong anti communist stance, the US decided to

Diem was a devout Catholic and ardent anti Communist. Diem took office on 1 July 1954, he had
heavy financial support from the US to help fix Vietnam, much of which has been destroyed in the
war. His immediate task was to crush his rivals; this included two religious sects; the Cao Dai and Hoa

Questions and Answers Regarding Equilateral Triangles
Since the centroid of a triangle lies along each median, 2/3 of the distance from the vertex to the
modpoint of the opposite side, we have:
■(t=2/3∙√3/2∙c=c/√3;@u=2/3∙√3/2∙b=b/√3.)
And in this case (1) becomes (2):
〖3s〗^2=b^2+c^2 2∙b∙c∙cos(A+60°).
Expanding the cosine of the sum, we have (3): cos(A+60°)=cos(A)/2 (√3∙sin(A))/2. Substituting (3)
into (2) yields to (4):
〖3s〗^2=b^2+c^2 b∙c∙cos(A)+√3∙b∙c∙sin(A).
Now we will apply the Law of Cosines to ∆ABC (5): a^2=b^2+c^2 2∙b∙c∙cos(A). And recall (6):
2∙S_∆ABC=b∙c∙sin(A).
Substituting (5) and (6) into (4) gives us (7):
3s^2=(a^2+b^2+c^2)/2+2∙√3∙S_∆ABC
As (7) is symmetrical in a,b and c, it follows that the triangle connecting the three centroids is
equilateral:
IH=GH=GI=s=√((a^2+b^2+c^2)/2+2∙√3∙S_∆ABC )/√3=√((a^2+b^2+c^2)/6+(2∙S_∆ABC)/√3).
The Napoleon s triangle is equilateral. Proved.
Answer: Proved.
Rotating by the point:
Fix the point I as the center of rotation and rotate the entire figure by 120°, and superimpose the
rotated copy on the original figure.
Uder rotation the ∆CAF maps to itself (C maps to A, A maps to F, F maps to C and I maps to itself).
Points BB, DD, EE, GG and HH are the images of the points B, D, E, G and H, respectively. Because
of this he triangle ∆A.EE.BB= ∆BCE.
Connect D to EE and G to HH. By the rigidity of the rotation, ∆GHI=∆GG.HH.I. In particular
GH=GG.HH.

How Did Akhenaten Change Of Religion
Akhenaten
During the time of the new kingdom a powerful Pharaoh came into power.
Akhenaten, also known as Amenophis IV believed that only one god should rule universally, and that
god is known as the Aten. Akhenaten was the crucial changer of polytheism. Changing polytheism to
monotheism was an enormous impact on society back then and now. But, Nicholas Reeves uses all
sorts of evidence and opinions of his, to conclude that Akhenaten changed the religion of Egypt.
Historians have asked why Akhenaten changed the religion of Egypt, and many opinions have come
into contact. Reeves argues that, even though Akhenaten was the founder a new faith he desperately

Reeves interprets the changing of religion for political reasons, and it all started with Hatshepsut.
Thutmose III was the sixth pharaoh of the 18th dynasty and was ruling co regent with his aunt
Hatshepsut. Akhenaten wanted to restore power in himself, not because he cared about his people only
because he thought the gods had more power than him. To fix that problem, he wanted only one god,
the Aten, to rule universally. Reeves doesn t assume that Akhenaten was changing beliefs for
theological reasons, but it was for the sake of his power. From the start of his reign, it was clear that
Akhenaten was determined to change something, and was willing to share his beliefs in monotheism.
Pharaoh, it is clear, was a man with a mission; of rare intelligence, recognizably well tutored in the
theological minutiae...despite his age, he was certain in his beliefs and determined to share them (91).
There was a text discovered called the Great Hym of Aten and it is a hieroglyphic text discovered in el
Amrna in the tomb of Ay. It was believed to have been written by Akhenaten himself translated by
W.J. Murnane. Reeves points out that the hym was rather a strong emphasis on how one should
portray the nature of reality, and rather weak connection between Aten and the kingdom. He also notes
that the hym as well as many other texts, never emphasize sympathy or kindness to the Egyptian
people, and it only praises Aten and the relationship with Akhenaten. Whom you have taught your
ways and your might...you yourself are lifetime, one lives by you. This is showing us how much
praise Akhenaten is giving to the Aten and how he lived for

John the Baptist and an Angel by Domenico di Bartolomeo Ubaldini (Puligo) and Madonna Enthroned
by Giotto. Both paintings deal with fables from the Christian faith but were executed during different
periods in art. The Giotto painting was created around 1310 and the Puglio painting was executed
between 1518 1520. Here, these two paintings have similar themes both at the extreme beginnings and

John the Baptist is also allowed to stand near the holy mother and child, and an angel is present.
Because of this, the viewer contends with a literal story rather than a simple image as in Madonna
Enthroned . Also in Puligo s image, where the central figures are larger and better seen, there are
religious symbols used. The same might be true in Giotto s work but the details are harder to
distinguish.
Visual Form and Style The style and the form of these two paintings reflect the development of the
artistic techniques during the Italian Renaissance. While both reflect a Biblical theme with a central
focal point of the Madonna and Child, Madonna Enthroned has a key image that is best viewed from a
central position and Madonna and Child... has a greater degree of importance over the majority of the
surface of the canvas. In Madonna and Child... the viewer does not perceive that an image is being
forced upon them as is found in the work by Giotto. A use of light and space is also key to preventing
the Puligo piece from being forced , where the organization of distance visibly removes the viewer
from Madonna Enthroned while drawing the viewer into the painting in Madonna and Child... . Color
also serves a similar purpose, where Giotto s work is monochromatic but ocher while Puligo s work

Analysis Of Chester Himes s If He Hollers Let Him Go
In Chester Himes , If He Hollers Let Him Go the racial tension between blacks and whites was
perfectly portrayed by protagonist Bob Jones and white counterpart, Madge. The relationship between
the two was a great example of the advantage that was taken of African Americans in the United
States before the Civil Rights Movement. Being friends with someone opposite of your race was
frowned upon. With that in mind, for a white woman and a black man to be in a relationship was
completely unacceptable. There were exceptions for any interracial couples. The memoir by Lillian

Back in that time, it only took the word of a white man or woman to convince a jury, mostly

enough risk that he cannot take because it could easily compromise his relationship with Alice and

change, something needs to be done about the treatment of interracial marriage and how it is seen in
the United States. In order for that change to occur, first we need to recognize the way African
Americans are being treated in our society. There is a tremendous stigma of having sex before

Breathe Right Strip Summary
Breath Right Strips
Introduction According to the text, Breathe Right Strips were invented by Bruce Johnson, a chronic
nasal congestion sufferer. Mr. Johnson Brought his creation to CNS Inc. CNS took the product and
primarily marketed it to sports teams, nasal sufferers and night time snorers. The product really
became prominent when Jerry Rice of the San Francisco 49ers wore the product in the Super Bowl.
According to cns.com, Breathe Right Strips is also available in vapor strips, clear and tan strips, and
nasal strips for kids. Some of the other products include nasal spray, throat spray, fiberchoice and a
portable vaporizer. Armed with these few, but strong products in 1995 CNS, decided to go global.

Weaknesses are that the product is kept behind the counter of some international drug stores, thus
limiting the exposure. The Universal Product Codes on packaging aren t universal. The different
governments may have different ways of reviewing the product, and can take a few weeks to a month
to gain approval. The opportunity is that CNS has a product that may not withstand the test of time.
The CNS Company may need to look at extending their product line beyond the strips, vaporizers and
fiber tablets. They have such a limited product line. The biggest threat according to breathe right strips
is a company called gin miller. According to ginmiller.com, they have produced nasal dilatators that
are reusable. The other threat is the income of developing countries. They may not have the disposable
income to be able to buy the product.
Recommendations
The first recommendation is to implement at the end of stage one, an approval stage. Once the product
is tested and gains approval, they should make sure that they have approval from the governments
before the product launch. They should also take a look at expanding their product line to something
that people are willing to pay their money for. They could find different groups to market the product
to beyond athletes and snorers. There may be a market for the product to people who have more of a
need for the product, such as asthma,

The Importance Of Maintaining The Correct Acid Base Balance
The importance of maintain the correct acid base balance in the body is crucial for a healthy lifestyle.
Human bodies are very sensitive to pH levels and must be maintained to prevent any health issues.
The term pH means potentials oh hydrogen. To function properly our blood pH is regulated at 7.4. The
degree of acidity or alkalinity is referred to as the acid base balance. The acidity levels increase when
the acidic compounds in the blood increase of the alkaline compounds in the blood fall. Alkalinity
increases when the reverse occurs. The levels of alkaline and acidic compounds depend on the body s
intake, production or decreased elimination or vice versa. If the pH rises or falls increasingly the body
s proteins and enzymes can denature and stop functioning. This can cause serious diseases such as
cancers or even death. Therefore, our body has essential mechanisms in place to regulate the pH of our
blood.
Regulating acid base balance:
The main functions of the body that deal with maintaining acid base balance are the buffer, renal and
respiratory systems.
Buffer System:
Normal metabolism produces hydrogen in the form of acids; to maintain the pH of the blood the acids
are buffered or removed from the body. A buffer works in a pair, a weak acid is activated when the pH
is at risk from a strong base/ a weak base is activated when the pH is at risk from a strong acid.
Whenever the buffer reaction is carried out the concentration of one of the pairs increases while the

Thematic Transformation in Up Released on May 29, 2009, Pixar s Up made its debut onto the big
screen, and created an entertaining viewing for a wide ranged audience. With the directorship of Pete
Docter and Bob Peterson, the team was able to create an animation picture, and bring it to life with the
music and help of composer Michael Giacchino. Throughout the course of the feature film, the
development of multiple new adventures, despite the positive and negative circumstances, take place
in the protagonist s life. In order to accommodate the diverse potential of the theme, Michael
Giacchino created a musical arrangement that, for the most part, would mold itself in order to suit the
particular action that the characters in the movie would be experiencing. This particular leitmotif is
introduced to us in the beginning when Carl, and his wife, Elli begin their lives together merrily,
through the formation of the club. However, the theme becomes ... Show more content on

Pretending to partake in and vicariously live through his quest, they form a club in Elli s quasi Spirit
of Adventure. Inducting Carl into her team, she encourages and shows him that the experiences they
are about to confront from here on out will constantly happen regardless of the repercussions.
Fashioned for this scene, Giacchino establishes the leitmotif that is associated with adventure
throughout the entire film. With a waltz like arrangement, the musical theme comprises mostly of a
muted trumpet, violin, and piano. As the three apparent instruments are played to this 3/4 time
signature, Elli takes the hand of Carl and reveals the location of his lost balloon (a representation of
his spirit). By setting the mood with this heart filled and steady tone, the trust and love manifests
between the two and fosters into a romantic relationship, which indicates the start of the

Wireless Technology Proposal Essay
Wireless Technology Proposal
BIS/220
November 28, 2012
Wireless Technology Proposal The purpose of this proposal is to identify two wireless technologies,
which would be as a marketing tool and beneficial to implement in the Party Plates organization in
order to advance business objective. This proposal will also incorporate a rationalization for the
conclusion to implement the aforementioned wireless technologies and identify the risks of using
wireless technologies in the Party Plates work environment. In today s technological world, Party
Plates needs to establish a competitive approach in the marketplace with an innovative approach to the
technology trends that exist while ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It is important to monitor your access points. There are precautions Party Plates may implement when
using public accesses: ▪ Avoid connecting to unknown public access point. ▪ Never use public open
networks (no lock symbol as shown above) to access your banking, credit card or other sensitive sites.
▪ Always establish a VPN connection as soon as you connect to the Wi Fi Network when connecting
for company work (this help protect your computer by securing your data and enabling a firewall on
your computer). Apple s iPhone and iPad has gained a large share of the smart phone and computer
tablet market. Mitchell (2011) noted that competitors have released their own versions, and almost
overnight, a new technological commodity has become a competing force in the business world.
Apple has introduced many innovative features and has redefined the mobile device and computer
tablet landscape forcing the competition to evolve and play catch up in many cases (DesRosiers,
2010). The iPhone has a large internal memory, has many key features that cannot be found on other
devices, and the operating system, Safari, is one of the best on the market. Face Time allows

Sherman Antitrust Case Study
As many other students can attest to I was quite young while this case was going on. Now going back
to research this topic sheds a lot of light onto things I did not understand at the time.
The lengthy legal battle began in 1998 when Microsoft was accused of partaking in illegal behavior
that violated many details laid out in the Sherman Antitrust Act. Illegal behavior such as making their
Internet browser a bundle deal with their operating system of their windows computers. The case
would first go to mediation with both sides trying to make a deal so that it would not have to go to
trial but after many close calls to finding a deal it would ultimately fall through causing the case to go
to trial. The trial extended over several years and appeals

Intertextuality In The Butcher Boy
The concept of fantasy can be defined as the forming of mental images, especially wondrous or
strange fancies; imaginative conceptualizing (Dictionary.com). At one time or another we have all
fantasized about different things. However, have any of us ever attempted to incorporate those
fantasies into the real world? The following paper will attempt to analyse how the narratives Mickybo
and me and The Butcher Boy combine elements of imagination/fantasy and reality. It will discuss how
the of mixing the two concepts helped to form the narratives and move them forward and will gauge
how these characters are shaped through their imaginations/fantasies. This essay will focus on four
main points. Firstly, it will address how the cruel reality ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Mainly we see this combination through the lens of Butch Cassidy and The Sundance Kid. Being
obsessed with the film, the boys base themselves on the two characters. Intertextuality is the concept
of texts borrowing from each other. In terms of film, this could be the borrowing of a line of dialogue,
the composition of a shot, or direct reference to another film/text. Intertextuality is present throughout
the film as on occasion the boys use direct quotes from their favourite film Manos arriba (Loane,
2004). As Mickybo enters the bank to rob it he not only quotes Butch Cassidy, but we actually see
many elements from Butch Cassidy and The Sundance Kid present in this scene. As he walks towards
the entrance we can hear the soundtrack from the film. We can tell that it is from Butch Cassidy and
The Sundance Kid because the music doesn t fit in with the setting of the scene. If there wasn t enough
evidence to suggest the presence of intertextuality between the two then the moment where Mickybo
walks through the door of the bank outright proves it. The clever use of shots from Butch Cassidy and
The Sundance Kid depicting Mickybo as Butch was a smart way to show how Mickybo felt like he
was being his hero whereas the people in the bank most certainly did not take him seriously. In this
scene Mickybo is consciously copying the film. The intertextuality aids the viewer to understand the
boys train of thought throughout the film. Can the same be said for Frankie Brady in The Butcher
Boy? Let s examine how Neil Jordan combined elements of imagination and reality in his adaption of
Patrick Mc Cabe s novel of the same

Group Dynamics Paper
3 Group Dynamics
a) There are many ways to communicate effectively with your group, and there can be many reasons
why some groups communicate poorly. Valentine Belonwu states, many points on group dynamics and
effective group communication, (Belonwu, 2013).
Some important points that Belonwu makes are:
One on one, people understand better when talked to directly or face to face. Maintaining eye contact
will ensure the message has been understood and that way effective communication is accomplished.
Listen to you team members, communications is a two way path, make sure to not just keep talking
about your topics, give your team members a chance to talk as well.
This will mean next time they will be more likely to engage in the conversation.
Be Appreciative, always be courteous towards your listeners and group members. The point of ...

One reason for it being effective was just like how Belonwu states is that we created a very receptive
atmosphere, this means that we didn t have a tense environment whenever we had meetings, therefore
we felt more confident discussing the topics.
Another instance is we made sure to reduce our perceptions and to be empathetic towards how others
see a situation. This made communication really effective as we moved passed trying explain things
we didn t need to and had more time to discuss the important issues and go straight to the point.
As a team, we didn t really face unsuccessful communication, this was due to us just listening to each
other during our meetings, and we listened politely and made sure we weren t being ignored. This not
only helped us have effective communication as a team, but also got closer as a team.
While having meetings as a group we displayed confidence and seriousness, when talking about our
topics this told each of us that we were not talking nonsense. This greatly helped us understand better
and complete our work

  • 2. Quality Improvement Data Quality improvement data: Using QI instruments to address high readmission rates and medication errors Keeping track of quality improvement data is essential for all organizations: not simply for for profit entities, but also for not for profit organizations such as hospitals. Patient readmission rates and medication errors are serious issues at many healthcare organizations. Using quality improvement instruments such as a fishbone (Ishikawa) diagram: which can identify many possible causes for an effect or problem and sorts ideas into useful categories and a Pareto chart, which shows on a bar graph which factors are more significant can help pinpoint the root causes of chronic problems that seem to arise from a multitude of factors (Cause analysis tools, 2013, ASQ). The standard benchmark used by the Centers for Medicare Medicaid Services (CMS) is the 30 day readmission rate. Rates at the 80th percentile or lower are considered optimal by CMS ¦A hospital s readmission rate is calculated by dividing the total number of patients readmitted within seven days of discharge by the total number of hospital discharges. (Readmission rates, 2013, Mayo Clinic). Keeping readmission rates low is essential for the hospital to demonstrate a commitment to providing quality care at low cost and a high readmission rate also can result in reduced Medicare reimbursements as well as reflect negatively upon the hospital s PR when such reports are released (Can hospital ... • 3. Locker Searches In Schools *Under school district drug testing policies, athletes and students participating in extracurricular activities can be subjected to drug tests without individualized suspicion. Lockers and Other School Owned Property Courts have singled out school lockers as generating a lower expectation of privacy, frequently distinguishing locker searches on the basis that a locker is school property, and students do not retain exclusive possession. This is particularly likely when they have signed a form acknowledging that the locker is school property and subject to inspection. Under the view of joint control, school officials have been allowed to inspect lockers or even to consent to locker searches by law enforcement officers. For example, a California appellate court held a warrantless search of a student s locker was justified. After a SRO received a tip about a student possibly possessing a weapon, a police officer ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... These codes or laws may establish that reasonable suspicion is required prior to conducting a search. In a Pennsylvania case, the state supreme court relied on the T.L.O. decision and the student code in establishing a legitimate expectation of privacy in lockers. The code specified: Prior to a locker search a student shall be notified and given an opportunity to be present. However, where school authorities have a reasonable suspicion that the locker contains materials which pose a threat to the health, welfare, and safety of students in the school, students lockers may be searched without prior warning (emphasis added). The court held that students possessed a reasonable expectation of privacy in their lockers; yet, in balancing students privacy interests and school officials concerns, the court found a school wide blanket search reasonable based on the heightened awareness of drug activity that permeated the entire school and the compelling concern about drug ... Tupac Shakur was also known as 2Pac, selling over 75 million records worldwide, also bestselling, and influential rappers of all times. On September 7, 1996, Shakur was fatally shot in drive by shooting in Las Vegas, Nevada. He was taken to Southern Nevada hospital where he passed six days later. According to the coroner s report, Shakur was 6 feet and weighed 215 pounds, but he actually was 5.10 and weighted 165 pounds. Many say no one really saw Tupac in the hospital at all, so there was no autopsy. Legally an autopsy is required to be taken right after death has occurred. Multiple stories upon Tupac s disappearance has cause many in confusion and disappointment. Many confusion had lead that Tupac was rushed to the hospital by an ambulance. Also, during an interview Suge Knight states that he took Tupac to the hospital himself rather than anyone else. • 5. Determining The Gravitational Acceleration At The Earth s... The gravitational acceleration depends on only the mass of the gravitating object M and the distance d from it. Notice that the mass of the falling object m has been cancelled out. (http://www.astronomynotes.com) To calculate its average speed you divide the distance travelled by the time it takes to travel that distance. The speed is usually measured in kilometres per hours (km/h) or, in the case, metre per second (m/s). (Science World 10, Macmillan P. Stannard and K. Williamson) Hypothesis: That the acceleration for a falling object towards the surface of the Earth is said to be 9.8 m/s/s. This is justified by the research above. As a representative, three to four hours per week, or forty eight to sixty four hours per semester, are dedicated to office hours, where I am available to anyone who has questions regarding club events and services, such as tutoring, which are offered by the club. In addition, at the end of each semester, I lead the organization of one final exam review session for a chosen entry level mathematics course, which requires meetings with both the professor of the course and the chosen instructor who will lead the review. Overall, the review sessions require two to three hours of preparation, including sitting outside of the review admitting members and providing membership to new members. As a result of being part of the club, I have learned a few very valuable lessons. First, I have acquired better communication skills when conveying information to different audiences. Disseminating information on club events to students requires a different tone than giving the information to a professor, and I have valued the opportunity to become familiar with how professional and informal communications differ. Concluding that there will be not significant difference in abundance among the four species calculated from the transect sampling. No, the estimates from the individual group did not match the combined class estimates even though groups 5 and 6 had the same values in the quadrat sampling. In this case, the group with the highest estimate population size is group 1, which is higher than the mean calculated. On the other hand, group 4 has the lowest estimate population size among all the groups. • 8. Jane Eyre Settings Mysterious, complex, and utterly captivating, Charlotte Bronte s Jane Eyre constantly leaves the reader with more questions than answers. The book consists of constant plot twists, all of which eventually make sense in the end. Perhaps what is most fascinating about Jane Eyre is the setting behind it. Throughout the novel, Jane Eyre travels to many places over multiple years. Through analysis it is clear that these different settings relate to each period and development in her life. Commonly contrasting and seemingly insignificant, the details behind locations such as Thornfield and Ferndean allow Bronte to develop Jane as a character as well as create a deeper meaning behind her work. Thornfield and Ferndean are contrasting in both their literal and metaphorical meanings. When the compound words of each title are broken apart, additional insight can be found. • 11. Applying Sanitary Products For Australia s Economic System My name is Sofian Miu and I am writing to you as a Queenslander and, I specifically, a woman who menstruates every month. As an abiding citizen I have paid my tax in order for Australia s economic system to thrive. However, should my choice as a woman of being sanitary really be taxed and labelled as a luxury ? The government may tax anything materialistic in my possession, but the government cannot tax my body. Periods are no luxury. No woman asked for a period. Women cannot choose to menstruate. Despite this, a whole heap of disadvantages have been created for those who do. By not using sanitary products, it can lead to a number of health risks; jeopardise maintaining a normal, professional or personal life; and result in public ridicule. However, it is apparent that the Australian Government disregards this and continues to tax a necessity while at the same time, not taxing condoms, sunscreen and lubricants (Gleeson, 2016). This issue is a worldwide problem that needs to be changed. In Queensland and elsewhere, the topic of taxation and sanitary products have caused an outroar amongst the female population causing much media attention and public debate; with previous reforms having been proposed by the former Treasurer, Joe Hockey (BBC News, 2015). However, said proposals have failed to be implemented and enacted. By using sanitary products, our Government capitalises on misogynist discourse and period shame that has caused us to fear our own menstrual cycles. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 14. The Doctrine Of The Faith Mavrodes begins by stating the doctrine of the faith, which is that God is omnipotent (capable of anything). There has been attempts to refute the omnipotence of God by proposing things he cannot do. One example Mavrodes gives is the creation of a square circle. In paragraph two Mavrodes goes on to highlight the counterarguments to these attempts by a St. Thomas. St. Thomas wanted to clarify that the anything that we refer to when we talk about God s omnipotence should be, construed to refer only to objects, actions, or states of affairs whose descriptions are not self contradictory. Thomas goes on to say that only things whose nonexistence might plausibly be attributed to a lack of power would fit under this category. Mavrodes ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Mavrodes now decides to state that despite this difference, the question of the stone is open to the same solution as the problem of the square circle. The question of the stone doesn t work because it depends on asking whether God can perform a self contradictory thing. The answer that he cannot do such a thing does not damage God s doctrine of omnipotence. Either God s omnipotence is true, or he lacks such omnipotence. If we are to assume that he is not omnipotent, the problem of a stone too heavy for God to lift wouldn t contradict itself. If we say that God is able or unable to create such a stone, his omnipotence may be in question. This too is no more than an assumption much like the one we started with. Mavrodes then questions whether or not the assumption of the omnipotence of God always leads to a reductio, when in fact, in may give us a feasible answer. When one assumes that God is omnipotent, a stone too heavy to lift then becomes contradictory, as it then becomes what Mavrodes refers to as, a stone which cannot be lifted by Him whose power is sufficient for lifting anything. The stone this scenario describes contradicts itself and is entirely impossible, so we can check it at the door when it comes to questioning God s omnipotence. Not being capable of logical existence, it s failure to do so can t be due to a lack in the power of God. It is the omnipotence of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 20. Western Techniques In The Searchers Foreword: It should be noted that while this written piece compares and contrasts The Searchers to the concept of the stereotypical Western film , the film would most certainly have shaped the mould for what the stereotypical western was to become. Being one of the largest early Western films to release, the film s once relatively unique storyline and thematic content have become subject to being replicated in more recent Western films. Therefore, when comparing the film to the now conventional Western, it should serve moreso as a critique of the unoriginality of those that contributed to the genre following The Searchers release. Introduction For what is arguably the most successful film to emerge from his long spanning career, film director John Ford s The Searchers has certainly earned its place as one of the greatest western films of all time . However, while the film is certainly a staple among other classic 1950s productions, the genre of Western film does not carry nearly as much weight as it once did over half a century ago. In recent decades, the genre has grown stale among audiences due to more recent additions, composing of tedious storylines, repetitive run of the mill characters, and as a whole becoming incongruous with the evolved social climate which pursues racial equality in the United States. The best case scenario is you have an entire population growing up and going through life and just never really finding joy, they ll never really find deep, deep fulfillment in work or in life. In my view, the fact that most young people have impatience is a good thing; they will have the drive to help change the world. I happen to believe there is far too much patience in the workplace and school right now. We keep teaching young adults the same thing repeatedly instead of speeding up the process and teaching them to move forward and wanting to complete tasks faster is a good thing. I was impatient in my current job and kept pushing for what I wanted and was promoted to a management position in less than a year of working for the company, bypassing that have worked there for year who were patiently waiting for an opportunity to fall into their laps. Rousseau believed that each person obtains a natural repugnance to seeing any sentient being, especially our fellow man, perish or suffer, (DeLue and Dale 190) and that this only changes due to pity and selfishness. Rousseau did not take kindly to those who were seen as selfish and following self interest. For those who do not pursue the concept of the common good and question the way of society, they are subject to be removed. Questions and Answers Regarding Equilateral Triangles Since the centroid of a triangle lies along each median, 2/3 of the distance from the vertex to the modpoint of the opposite side, we have: ■(t=2/3∙√3/2∙c=c/√3;@u=2/3∙√3/2∙b=b/√3.) And in this case (1) becomes (2): 〖3s〗^2=b^2+c^2 2∙b∙c∙cos(A+60°). Expanding the cosine of the sum, we have (3): cos(A+60°)=cos(A)/2 (√3∙sin(A))/2. Substituting (3) into (2) yields to (4): 〖3s〗^2=b^2+c^2 b∙c∙cos(A)+√3∙b∙c∙sin(A). Now we will apply the Law of Cosines to ∆ABC (5): a^2=b^2+c^2 2∙b∙c∙cos(A). And recall (6): 2∙S_∆ABC=b∙c∙sin(A). Substituting (5) and (6) into (4) gives us (7): 3s^2=(a^2+b^2+c^2)/2+2∙√3∙S_∆ABC As (7) is symmetrical in a,b and c, it follows that the triangle connecting the three centroids is equilateral: IH=GH=GI=s=√((a^2+b^2+c^2)/2+2∙√3∙S_∆ABC )/√3=√((a^2+b^2+c^2)/6+(2∙S_∆ABC)/√3). To fix that problem, he wanted only one god, the Aten, to rule universally. Reeves doesn t assume that Akhenaten was changing beliefs for theological reasons, but it was for the sake of his power. Human bodies are very sensitive to pH levels and must be maintained to prevent any health issues. The term pH means potentials oh hydrogen. To function properly our blood pH is regulated at 7.4. The degree of acidity or alkalinity is referred to as the acid base balance. The acidity levels increase when the acidic compounds in the blood increase of the alkaline compounds in the blood fall. Alkalinity increases when the reverse occurs. The levels of alkaline and acidic compounds depend on the body s intake, production or decreased elimination or vice versa. If the pH rises or falls increasingly the body s proteins and enzymes can denature and stop functioning. This can cause serious diseases such as cancers or even death. Therefore, our body has essential mechanisms in place to regulate the pH of our blood. Regulating acid base balance: The main functions of the body that deal with maintaining acid base balance are the buffer, renal and respiratory systems. Buffer System: Normal metabolism produces hydrogen in the form of acids; to maintain the pH of the blood the acids are buffered or removed from the body. A buffer works in a pair, a weak acid is activated when the pH is at risk from a strong base/ a weak base is activated when the pH is at risk from a strong acid. Whenever the buffer reaction is carried out the concentration of one of the pairs increases while the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 39. Thematic Transformation In Pixar s Up Thematic Transformation in Up Released on May 29, 2009, Pixar s Up made its debut onto the big screen, and created an entertaining viewing for a wide ranged audience. With the directorship of Pete Docter and Bob Peterson, the team was able to create an animation picture, and bring it to life with the music and help of composer Michael Giacchino. Throughout the course of the feature film, the development of multiple new adventures, despite the positive and negative circumstances, take place in the protagonist s life. In order to accommodate the diverse potential of the theme, Michael Giacchino created a musical arrangement that, for the most part, would mold itself in order to suit the particular action that the characters in the movie would be experiencing. This particular leitmotif is introduced to us in the beginning when Carl, and his wife, Elli begin their lives together merrily, through the formation of the club. However, the theme becomes ... With a waltz like arrangement, the musical theme comprises mostly of a muted trumpet, violin, and piano. As the three apparent instruments are played to this 3/4 time signature, Elli takes the hand of Carl and reveals the location of his lost balloon (a representation of his spirit). Now going back to research this topic sheds a lot of light onto things I did not understand at the time. The lengthy legal battle began in 1998 when Microsoft was accused of partaking in illegal behavior that violated many details laid out in the Sherman Antitrust Act. Illegal behavior such as making their Internet browser a bundle deal with their operating system of their windows computers. The case would first go to mediation with both sides trying to make a deal so that it would not have to go to trial but after many close calls to finding a deal it would ultimately fall through causing the case to go to trial. • 42. Intertextuality In The Butcher Boy The concept of fantasy can be defined as the forming of mental images, especially wondrous or strange fancies; imaginative conceptualizing (Dictionary.com). At one time or another we have all fantasized about different things. However, have any of us ever attempted to incorporate those fantasies into the real world? The following paper will attempt to analyse how the narratives Mickybo and me and The Butcher Boy combine elements of imagination/fantasy and reality. It will discuss how the of mixing the two concepts helped to form the narratives and move them forward and will gauge how these characters are shaped through their imaginations/fantasies. This essay will focus on four main points. Firstly, it will address how the cruel reality ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Mainly we see this combination through the lens of Butch Cassidy and The Sundance Kid. Being obsessed with the film, the boys base themselves on the two characters. Intertextuality is the concept of texts borrowing from each other. In terms of film, this could be the borrowing of a line of dialogue, the composition of a shot, or direct reference to another film/text. Intertextuality is present throughout the film as on occasion the boys use direct quotes from their favourite film Manos arriba (Loane, 2004). As Mickybo enters the bank to rob it he not only quotes Butch Cassidy, but we actually see many elements from Butch Cassidy and The Sundance Kid present in this scene. As he walks towards the entrance we can hear the soundtrack from the film. We can tell that it is from Butch Cassidy and The Sundance Kid because the music doesn t fit in with the setting of the scene. If there wasn t enough evidence to suggest the presence of intertextuality between the two then the moment where Mickybo walks through the door of the bank outright proves it. The clever use of shots from Butch Cassidy and The Sundance Kid depicting Mickybo as Butch was a smart way to show how Mickybo felt like he was being his hero whereas the people in the bank most certainly did not take him seriously. In this scene Mickybo is consciously copying the film. The intertextuality aids the viewer to understand the boys train of thought throughout the film. Can the same be said for Frankie Brady in The Butcher Boy? Let s examine how Neil Jordan combined elements of imagination and reality in his adaption of Patrick Mc Cabe s novel of the same ... Valentine Belonwu states, many points on group dynamics and effective group communication, (Belonwu, 2013). Some important points that Belonwu makes are: One on one, people understand better when talked to directly or face to face. Maintaining eye contact will ensure the message has been understood and that way effective communication is accomplished. Listen to you team members, communications is a two way path, make sure to not just keep talking about your topics, give your team members a chance to talk as well. This will mean next time they will be more likely to engage in the conversation. Be Appreciative, always be courteous towards your listeners and group members. The point of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... One reason for it being effective was just like how Belonwu states is that we created a very receptive atmosphere, this means that we didn t have a tense environment whenever we had meetings, therefore we felt more confident discussing the topics. Another instance is we made sure to reduce our perceptions and to be empathetic towards how others see a situation. This made communication really effective as we moved passed trying explain things we didn t need to and had more time to discuss the important issues and go straight to the point. As a team, we didn t really face unsuccessful communication, this was due to us just listening to each other during our meetings, and we listened politely and made sure we weren t being ignored. This not only helped us have effective communication as a team, but also got closer as a team. While having meetings as a group we displayed confidence and seriousness, when talking about our topics this told each of us that we were not talking nonsense.
