Cursive Is A Powerful Brain Tool
There is no standard way of taking notes. Although students have their own methods of studying and
taking notes, it has been proven that cursive writing is more beneficial to students rather than taking
notes. Most educational programs do not require students to learn cursive writing while some do. It
has been proven to be more effective to those who take notes rather than those who type their notes. In
the article Cursive Is a Powerful Brain tool the author gives a variety of examples as to why cursive
writing is a beneficial writing technique to students. Psychologists did a study on students who
handwrote notes and students who typed their notes. In paragraph 2, the author states, In one study,
psychologists found students learned

Single Variable Response ( Svr )
Single Variable Response (SVR) has been a methodology often used for qualitative analysis of the
training results obtained from Evolutionary neural network (EvoNN) and Bi Objective genetic
programming (BioGP) [Pettersson et~al., 2007], [Jha et~al., 2015b]. In SVR, a style of variation is
created by generating values between zero and one on time scale. The trend line is irregular, that is
there are regions of constant values, sharp increases and sharp decreases in the line. This has been
referred to as input signal in the following text. Here, an input signal is furnished for each variable
(alloying element). The response of that signal (that corresponds to that particular variable) was
checked with respect to the input signal for the objectives and constraints trained through the selected
model. For SVR testing, the input signal (trend of variation) was used for one of the variables, while
the other variables were kept constant at an average value. The model output response was plotted
against the variable trend. The various responses were tabulated for each of the models. Following
terminologies were used in SVR testing: 1. Direct: This means that the model output increases on
increasing the value of input signal and decreases on decreasing the value. 2. Inverse: This means that
a particular variable will affect the model output in opposite manner. That is, if we quantitatively
increase/decrease the value of that particular variable (concentration of this

Business Model Analysis On The Management Of The...
For a company to achieve maximum impact on their strategies whether marketing, financial or
expansion the company must understand their business activities. Efficiency in managing business
activities ensures smooth operation for maximum profit (Brinkman, 2). The business model strategy
enhances the management of the enterprise and operational design to conform to profit making goals
by implementing the segmentation of business activities. The research report will employ the business
model canvas to study and perform data analysis on the quickly growing taxi company Uber
Company. Data analysis is the deliberate activity of collecting and presenting data in a form that
highlights useful information that is helpful in decision making (Boyd, 18). Data analysis can be
described as the implied process of taking the whole of the collected data and identifying trends to
determine direction, meaning and implications, in addition to asking questions about the received data
and making comparisons within it to expand concepts from it (Warner, 13). Travis Kalanick and
Garrett Camp founded Uber Company back in 2009. The company s objective was to come up with a
mobile app that was to dominate in the transportation sector (Reilly Williams 32). The Uber app is
known to allow users to make their trip request over the app, which is also where taxi drivers get
routed. By March 2015, this service was accessible in over 55 nations and over 200 cities all over the
world (Hirschey, 19). One of

The Biomedical Excellence For Safer Transfusion
Blood transfusions can be a life sustaining medical procedure; yet its significance has been neglected.
Like many procedures, the risk of potentially harmful complications are vast, however in healthcare
the consequence of a mistake is death. For instance, when an acute hemolytic reaction can occur when
a patient receives incompatible blood. The symptoms of which include pain, chills, fever, tachycardia,
hypotension, and even renal failure (Kessler, 2013). Human error has required hospitals to implement
specific protocols which aim to prevent errors and reduce the likelihood of harmful complications.
These protocols consist of many rights , which ensure correct identity and blood product. Nurses are
responsible for the final bedside check ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
However, misidentification is the main dilemma for most transfusion errors during blood sample
collection. This can include patients not being identified correctly during the time of the blood
sampling or transfusion administration, or the mislabeling of products such as tubes or the blood unit.
Many patients worry about blood transfusions being contaminated with disease when they should be
worrying about the completely preventable fatal reactions healthcare members can hinder. With close
attention and hospital enforcement of strict procedure guidelines, safety and accuracy throughout the
transfusion process is possible.
Several healthcare associations have taken interest in minimizing misidentification. Many have even
taken steps to help diminish frequency. The Joint Commission has issued a national safety patient goal
that states Eliminate transfusion errors related to patient misidentification. The elements of
performance for this safety goal include that the following should be done before performing a
transfusion: blood should be matched to the order, the patient should be matched to the blood, and the
patient must correctly be identified. The Joint Commission aims to verify patients quickly and
efficiently. By using a two person identification process they hope precision is easily attainable. The
two identifier check is a widely recommended patient verification process that requires checking the
order, blood

Essay on Hostilities Between Men of Faith and Science
When Copernicus and Galileo voiced their observations opposing the Catholic Church, Copernicus
and Galileo were labeled as a threat for a couple reasons. For example, Copernicus and Galileo s
observations did not support the Catholic Church s teachings. Copernicus and Galileo discovered that
the sun does not revolve around the Earth but that the Earth revolves around the sun. The Church
believed that Only God knows how he created the universe, (Gascoigne) so there was no way that
Copernicus and Galileo could know that the Earth revolves around the sun. In the Bible it says, The
world also is stablished, and it cannot be moved. (The Book) This was interpreted by the Church to
mean that Earth cannot move, therefore the sun must be ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Then, about two hundred years later, the computer and cell phone were invented which is where
technology has come thus far (Dosoudil). Now, because of social media, anyone can connect to people
around the world. Furthermore, improved technology has heightened education. As technology has
advanced, people have been able to transport and communicate faster and more efficiently. This has
led to the opportunity of make schooling and continued education a privilege and eventually a priority
in people s lives. In general, people have been able to understand the world and how it works better.
The Internet allows someone to simply type in what they want to know and it pulls up resource upon
resource on just a single subject. As one can clearly see, technological advancements have changed
society in more ways than one might expect. Women have had to endure through obstacles throughout
history. During the scientific revolution, women were generally unable to receive a formal education
and therefore, were very rarely respected for their views. For example, Margret Cavendish, who came
from an aristocratic background, participated in many scientific debates, wrote two scientific works,
and set a great example of women scientists in France and England (Berdine). Regardless of her
accomplishments, Cavendish was denied membership from the Royal Society (Berdine). Another
woman, Maria Winkelmann reflected the obstacles women faced in being accepted in scientific work,

Attending A Magnet School Program Essay
Attending a magnet school which based its education in the arts I never realized how drastically
different my curriculum was than that of other middles schools. The difference went beyond middle
schools in my district or state, but affected me closer to home at my high school. In middle school,
education more frequently came from collaborative coursework rather than traditional lesson plans.
The transition to high school was difficult because it seemed that students focused on social status and
school administration focused on standardized testing scores. When looking at my education
compared to course readings, I have found that despite my two schools being in the same school
district and city, they each proposed different notions as to how schools should be ran and what makes
education valuable. Anoka, Minnesota is a northern suburb of the Twin cities. The city is home to
around seventeen thousand residents and proudly wears the name of the Halloween Capital of the
World. Anoka has 6 public schools which take residence within city; three elementary schools, two
middle schools, and one high school. Although the students from the two middle schools become one
when they enter ninth grade, what they learn in middle school is vastly different. Sandburg middle
school sits only four blocks from Fred Moore Middle School. What is going on inside the two schools,
however, is different. Sandburg, like most middle schools across the country, focuses on subject which

The Hiding Place In The Book, Corrie Ten Boom
The book Corrie Ten Boom was an excellent book. The story was timed well and shortened from the
original biography of Corrie Ten Boom, The Hiding Place. This story is mostly about how a Christian
with so much faith can change the world. In the book many times Corrie shows compassion and
forgiveness. This book takes place in the Netherlands. I like history and this was a great story given
during WWII, during the Nazi reign. The story starts off slow not much going on, except Corrie is
sick. Her parents think that she has tuberculosis, which was incurable back then. However, she later
find out that it is not tuberculosis it is appendicitis. Her family owns a clock shop, so when the Nazi s

Scheveningen prison. Corrie and Betsie spent 10 months in three different prisons, the last of which
was Ravensbruck Concentration Camp near Berlin. Betsie died at Ravensbruck, but Corrie lived and
got of the Concentration Camp to tell her story. While Corrie was in Ravensbruck, she never gave into
despair. When people would fight for their own survival, she would give her life for them. In the
harshness of the camps Corrie would always pray for other people and give them hope. One quote
from her shows her faith toward God, There is no pit so deep that God s love is not deeper still. This

Analysis Of Sandra Cisneros s The House On Mango Street
Just by looking at the front cover of The House on Mango Street, one could grasp an idea of what the
novel is about and how it is presented. It is a story, decorated with colorful detail and authenticity, of a
girl adjusting to a new home and growing up. In the introduction to the novel, Cisneros paints a
picture of who she had been at the time she had written this novel. Cisneros discusses how as a girl
she always wanted to move into a standalone house as opposed to the apartments she had been living
in throughout her early childhood. She also mentions her father s role in her life and how they had not
often seen eye to eye. Her father had never understood why she wanted to live in a house. He also had
wanted Cisneros to marry and have babies, however, at the time she had written this novel, she had
been uninterested in that. Meanwhile, she states that she has never had a father or boyfriend beat her
when she writes about how privileged her life had been up to that point. This is all reflected in The
House on Mango Street. Sandra Cisneros writes in her own unique voice in The House on Mango
Street by using unconventional short anecdotes that feature a cast of distinct characters to include
aspects of her own life. In the beginning of the introduction, Cisneros describes what she was like
when she was a young. Cisneros writes, As a girl, she dreamed of having a silent home, just to
herself... (Cisneros xii). This desire is reflected through Esperanza, the narrator, in the

Life Care Center Of West Bridgewater
One of the many things that attracted me to nursing was the variety of positions a nurse can be
employed in. Personally, I have a few positions that I am thinking of applying to once I finish the
program and pass the NCLEX PN. The very first place I will apply to is the facility I work in, the Life
Care Center of West Bridgewater. It is a skilled nursing home and rehabilitation center that is divided
into long and short term floors. There, I can grow and gain experience as an LPN, particularly on the
short term floor named Nantucket. I would continue to work there per diem on the weekends, in hopes
of getting my dream job working full time at a doctor s office in either women s health or pediatrics.

an internal transfer from the Life Care in West Bridgewater to the one in Fitchburg. I could work
nights 11 7 part time and go to class afterwards. Being that it is a three year program, I would like to
get this done as soon as possible. I plan to take classes throughout my winter and summer breaks. I
would like to work all throughout my time during the program. After I am done and take the NCLEX
RN, my goal is to be working in hospice. Five years from now, my dream is to have gotten my BSN
and work as a hospice nurse. With the experience that I would have gained during those five years
working in long term care, I would teach as a nursing professor. Even though I would eventually need
a master s in education, teaching students that love nursing as much as I do sounds interesting. With
the nursing shortage at it s all time high, it s important for new, incoming nurses to have dedicated and
caring professors. I consider myself lucky to have been accepted into a program that offers just that.
Being a professor would be my way of giving back of what has been given to me. On the contrary, I
have had my fair share of bad experiences with nursing professors.

The Speaker s Daughter Figurative Language Summary
In the poem the speaker s daughter is being mocked by some white children for being Japanese. The
speaker then has a flashback to her time living in Slocan. She remembers the time when the other
white kids made fun of her and she ran into the forest to hide and at the same time talks about the
woodticks that can dig into your scalp. When she reaches deep into the forest, she then listens for the
voices of the kids to guide her back onto the path, and she vows to never go near the mountain alone
again. Then she flashes forwards back to the present and she reassures her daughter that they do not
have woodticks in Saskatoon.
From reading the poem it can be determined that the speaker is the author, Joy Kogawa. One of the
major giveaways of this is the name of the daughter: Deidre. Joy Kogawa has a daughter in real life
named Deidre and in addition to this, has lived in Slocan ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
At first she uses imagery to display the prejudice faced by her daughter, showing how the bully

Kogawa also uses the imagery to show the fear that the speaker had to endure in her past, from the big
white boys . . . crowding [her] off the path of the mountain to fearing woodticks which burrowed into
your scalp . While the speaker is in the forest, Kogawa s use of imagery shifts from showing fear to
showing how she felt lost in the forest as she listen[s] for the guiding sound of their laughter to direct
her back to the path. In her childhood the speaker faced many prejudices and had to deal with racism,
which instilled a sense of fear and lostness at an early age deep in the speaker s mind. Kogawa s use of

racism faced, and what the speaker s daughter is beginning to be exposed

Janus, The Guardian Of The Gates To Heaven In Roman Mythology
Janitor, originated from Janus Janus, the guardian of the gates to Heaven in Roman mythology. He is
shown as having two faces, one in front, to the future, the other at the back of his head, to the past. He
is the patron of beginnings and endings, entries and exits, symbolizes the beginning of every day,
every month and every year. In 46 BC, Caesar decided that the first day of January was the New Year

Janus) in Latin. The English word January came from here. The legends of ancient Roman say, Janus

Raytheon Case Analysis
Discussion Activity 1 Personal Application
Background
My current employer is Raytheon Company, which is one of the largest defense companies in the
United States (Choi, 2016). Raytheon was founded in 1922 and has grown organically by winning
new and maintaining the existing government contracts, as well as through a number of acquisitions.
The company provides advanced and integrated technological products, services, and solutions for
both domestic and international customers ( Raytheon s 10 K Report , 2016).
According to Global Edge, the aerospace and defense (A D) industry is highly concentrated, which
means that the industry s direction and price points are largely shaped and controlled by a small
amount of large firms in the industry (Global Edge, n. d.). The top five A D contractors based on their
2015 revenues are Lockheed Martin, Boeing, Raytheon, General Dynamics, and Northrop Grumman

Fundamental Strategic Issues in Defense Industry The A D industry relies mainly on the defense
budget allocated for various government and military products and services, such as military aircrafts,
ships, missiles, and other defense related technological devices. As the government faces a debt crisis,
A D companies are subsequently affected by the decreasing spending, stalled and eliminated contracts,
and priority changes (Global Edge, n. d.a; Kulikowski, 2015). Because of the U.S. government budget

Procedural Rhetoric
Procedural Rhetoric and Video Games
Kyle

5th June 2018
When one is playing a video game, they are never focused on the composition of the game but on the
content. Procedural rhetoric concept explains how people learn through the composition of rules and
processes. It argues that games can be used to make a strong claim on how the world works. This is
not done through the conventional means of words or visuals but through some processes and models.
It further argues that video games have a unique persuasive power that goes beyond other forms of
computational persuasion. Not only can video games support existing social and cultural positions, but
they can also disrupt and change those positions, leading to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

Additionally, the growing culture of societal impatience is like an addiction, it makes people crave
more and more, and they want it now and right now. Ian Bogost article The Rhetoric of video games
describes a situation where players unknowingly face the dilemma of wanting more and more. The
argument is that for instance, if someone wants a bigger house, meaning an increase in mortgage, it
has to be complemented by buying more other goods to fill the extra space hence a vicious cycle
(Bogost, 2008). The same analogy is used by business models of freemium games to complement
procedural rhetoric to foster an impatient society. Freemium models business offers certain aspects of
the games free, while other parts have to be paid for. When a player engages in a freemium game, it
will reach a point that the player cannot move to the next process before purchasing the whole game.

The Importance Of Automated Persistent Surveillance
The advancement of UAV abilities and technology in recent years has promoted substantial scientific
and commercial research into the application and management of this technology. In some areas of
development UAV capability has surpassed the regional flight policies and capabilities of manned
operations. One of the predominant implementations of UAVs pertains to automated persistent
monitoring and surveillance (Nikhil Nigam 2014). Automated persistent surveillance is the use of
sensors to continuously capture the activities of a region by adjusting the field of view (FOV) and
position of the sensors with minimal or no human interaction (Nikhil Nigam 2014). These surveillance
systems provide a powerful solution for perpetual monitoring and ... Show more content on

These system control frameworks vastly improve the management of multiple UAV systems by
incorporating varying degrees of vehicle autonomy, communication, and control between the operator
and the UAVs. Depending on the level of autonomy and system traits, these control frameworks can
enable single operators (human or AI) to monitor and control numerous UAVs.
The underlying technology and algorithms used for persistent surveillance with sensors has existed for
a couple decades, beginning with stationary security cameras and existing today with manned and
unmanned aircraft (Yao et al. 2010; Keck, Galup, and Stauffer 2013). With the addition of UAVs as a
sensor platform the sustainability and duration of surveillance tasks are greatly improved. Surveillance
of a region using aerial vehicles is used for various purposes, such as monitoring weather, potential
hazard or natural disaster zones, regional threats, and observation and reconnaissance (N. Nigam and
Kroo 2008). These tasks may require significant time requirements and sustained surveillance that
only UAV capabilities can provide. It is also beneficial to improve the surveillance FOV and fidelity
by increasing the count of sensors or aerial vehicles, which is much easier accomplished by using
UAVs rather than manned aerial vehicles (Prokaj and Medioni 2014; Basharat et al. 2014). Although
the use of UAVs has

Stress And Oxidative Stress
Aerobic organisms need molecular oxygen (O2) for respiration or oxidation of nutrients to obtain
energy. There are some reactive by products of cellular respiration, derived from molecular oxygen,
that are generated continuously in cells grown aerobically, such as hydrogen peroxide (H2O2)
superoxide anion radical (O2 ), and the highly reactive hydroxyl radicals (OH).These reactive oxygen
species (ROS) are essential for various functions such as homeostasis and cell signaling but an
imbalance in favor of reactive oxygen species results in oxidative stress (OS) (Kashmiri et al.,2014).
Oxidative stress (OS) result in interference in the functioning of biological systems that maintain
levels of environmentally produced reactive oxygen species (ROS), by readily detecting and
detoxifying them (Lucana et al., 2012). Living organisms have adopted mechanisms to protect
themselves against oxidative stress, by producing enzymes such as catalase and superoxide dismutase,
small proteins like thioredoxin and glutaredoxin, and molecules such as glutathione ( Cabiscol et
al.,1999). Metallo enzymes such as superoxide dismutases are the primary antioxidant enzymes that
protect cells from oxidative damage of superoxide radicals, by catalyzing dismutation of superoxide
(O2 ) to hydrogen peroxide and oxygen. Superoxide dismutases, as name suggests dismutes
superoxide. Dismutation reaction is that in which two equal but opposite reactions occur on two
separate molecules. SOD takes two

Aquinas Just War Essay
St. Thomas Aquinas is another great theologian of the Catholic Church who believed in Just War
Theory. St. Aquinas explained three conditions under which war could be justified. First, there must be
a Sovereign authority under which war is waged, and a private individual has no capacity to wage war.
Aquinas argues that, those in authority are responsible for the general good of the city, kingdom or
province under them, and they are allowed by law to use the sword to defend that good from internal
disturbance from evildoers. In the same way, Aquinas argues that it is the responsibility of the
authority to use the sword to defend the common good from external foes. Therefore, it is Aquina s
stand that those not in positions of power cannot declare war. This is because the defense of the public
is the responsibility of the legal authority ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This seems to agree with the position of St. Augustine in that; there must be wrongs commited by the
side that is fought. However, Augustine specifies that the group must have commited injustice to
humanity while Aquinas says that the group must have commited some fault which makes it deserve
the war. The condition that the group must deserve to be fought creates a problem of determining the
degree of fault that justifies war. Aquinas leaves the decision to the authorities to determine what kind
of fault makes a group to deserve being fought. However, Aquinas should have stated what conditions
make a group deserve war rather than leaving it to the authorities to avoid people going to war by ill
will. In contrast to Aquinas, Augustine was describing a defensive war necessitated by injustices,
while Aquinas seems to talk of offensive war. An analysis of the two theorists shows that Augustine is
for the idea that war should be avoided at all costs, while Aquinas would justify many

Hester Prynne In The Scarlet Letter
Hester Prynne is a character who relies on her inner strength as she transforms from an impetuous,
shameful sinner to a stoic woman. She is a character in The Scarlet Letter written by Nathaniel
Hawthorne. Hester Prynne is a woman who was condemned by a Puritan town for being an adulterer.
This conclusion is evident because she became pregnant while her husband was lost at sea . Hester s
conviction is openly displayed by a scarlet letter on her chest. She is immediately isolated once
released, and she begins her transition into her new self. A key factor in the character development of
Hester Prynne is the shame she experienced. She sought love in someone other than her husband, who
was thought to be dead, and she was openly punished for her sins. After released she remained
encumbered in her punishment. She remained in town, and lived a plain life. Her guilt left her stuck in
a constant state of restriction. She used her immense skill of needlework for the poor, and an
occasional extravagance. However her personal shame was not transferred to her daughter, Pearl. The
difference in clothing shows that Hester considers herself shameful and not worthy of a decadent
lifestyle, but her daughter is deserving of a distinguished lifestyle.

She changed and became more responsible. She accepted her guilt and did not wallow in it. Hester
struggled with finding love, only to lose it. She also started making choices that would instigate even
more change. She escaped the pain of her current location, and she moved on to another. She
eventually returned to the place where she was once condemned. These actions showed how truly
stoic she was. She knew she could handle whatever painful memories the journey brought back. After

S5 = {35, 36, 37, 38, 39, 40, 41, 42, 43}
The correct answer for this is S4 and S5. However, the algorithm will choose S3, S2, and then S1
which is incorrect. S3 because it has the most uncovered, followed by S2, and then S1.

Present Day Approach To Bullying
Bullying has been around for so long, it seems that each generation has its own rules, ideas, and
advice for dealing with this problem. Psychologists assert, however that the issue of bullying one is
acquainted with today is not the same as it was in past generations. Previously, this dilemma was not
taken seriously. Much of the advice that was presented to bully victims in the past failed to provide
safety. Unfortunately, some adults are still apt to give outdated advice to this day. Thankfully, ancient
consultations have been exchanged for more helpful information that caters to both the sensitivity of a
bully victim and the problems a bully faces. This research is intended to expose the present day
approaches that are more capable of helping ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Appropriate steps can be taken to end the awful situations endured by bully victims. For starters,
victims must report any problems they have with bullying or talk to someone about their issues. Not
voicing their problems will only make things worse for them. To refrain themselves from bullying,
bullies must empathize with other classmates and think about the consequences that would occur to
them if they were the victims. Oppressors must remember that bullying does not make them a better
person or more liked by their peers. Bullies must also consider that they could receive serious long
term punishment for their actions. However, for those kids who are less likely to experience problems
with bullying, it would be beneficial for them, and the entire community, to report any serious
bullying offenses. Many psychologists believe kids must not encourage bullying on or off school
campus in any way. Most importantly, kids should remember bullies feed off of the energy and
atmosphere created by their peers. If children keep offering positive reinforcement by laughing or
agreeing with the bully, then bullying will never be resolved. Instead, these kids should not engage in
bystanding, or encourage bad behavior. They should remind bullies that the community does not
tolerate any abusive

Persuasive Essay On Breastfeeding
Women in this world have a right to bear children and take care of them. As a new parent, there are
millions of questions, worries, and decisions one deals with throughout the whole child s life. When a
child is first born, a mother has to decide whether or not to breastfeed or formula feed. The nutrition a
baby receives in the first months of life is what determines if the baby has a good or bad start. Women
should breastfeed their children because breastfeeding boosts chances of success for their child, allows
their baby to receive natural immunity from antibodies, mothers are less likely to develop diseases
such as cancers or diabetes, and breastfeeding stimulates oxytocin to promote bonding between
mother and child. Breastfeeding is the best choice for a baby.
The natural process of breastfeeding is the most beneficial for the baby and many studies have
concluded that breastfeeding boosts chances of success. In Brazil, a group of doctors took on a project
to see if there was a difference from a breastfed child and a formula fed one. These doctors randomly
picked out more than 3,000 babies and studied them from the time they were born until they turned
thirty years old (Breast Feeding). Once these babies reach thirty, they were given an IQ test that
concluded, the subjects who were breast fed for 12 months or more had a higher IQ than those who
were breast fed for less than one month. The difference in IQ was 3.76 points (Horta). Not only does
breastfeeding have an

Middle of the World, Territory of Complexity Essay
With current advancement involving technological, and biological warfare all over the earth, the world
can seem to resemble a ticking time bomb waiting to be detonated. All it would take is one rogue
nation to oppose a neighboring nation and provoke a terrible conflict, and other nations would have to
intervene. The conflict over territory is present in Israel and Palestine. This ancient feud will
apparently cause a world war if it is not solved, The Israeli Palestinian conflict can overflow onto the
rest of the surrounding nations, right into our very backyard, and it already involves U.S. Government.

The Israelis are known to protect there neighborhoods from incoming rocket propelled grenades.
Israel does certainly have the right to defend itself from the heavy opposition. It is a volatile situation
when any nation can cause violence for having different beliefs. Nonetheless the definition of one s
rights varies from different countries. Israel is outnumbered, yet still manages to survive, although, the
threat is not gone. Many nations surrounding the Jewish State condemn the close relationship between
the United States and Israel because the United States has contributed to the preservation of the Jewish
nation. The Arab resistance yearns to take total dominion over the west bank of Israel. Although Israel
is a small nation by itself, people opposing Israel say that the Israelis are nothing short of military
bullies. Israel is known for their military might and success in preserving there nation. Their defense
program is state of the art and far above other surrounding nations. Yet the potential of rogue nations
containing nuclear capabilities are substantial. Some of the Arabian fighters are not all radicalized but
are angered victims of having family members becoming casualties of war. Israel also while trying to
defend itself, occasionally contribute to the unfortunate casualty victims. Naturally they would oppose
Israel for taking away their sons and daughters, mothers and fathers, and also friends.

Scientific Naturalism
E. Existential Viability
Does scientific naturalism successfully explain the origin of life? The answer is yes, and no. Scientific
naturalism explains how life functions quite well, but it fails miserably in explaining how and where
life came from. Nobody who understands biology will argue that evolution does not occur, in the
narrow understanding that certain changes happen naturally. Johnson reminds us of a famous piece of
evidence for Darwinism that most of us learned about in science class. It was a study of an English
peppered moth population consisting of both dark and light colored moths. During the industrial
revolution, smoke from the factories darkened the surrounding trees with soot. This caused the
percentage of dark colored moths to increase, due to their advantage in hiding from predators. The
light colored moths were obviously at a disadvantage and their numbers decreased.
When the air pollution decreased, the trees became lighter due to not being covered in soot, the light
colored moths began to increase while the dark colored moths decreased. Both colors were present
during this time, and so no new characteristics were created. The percentage of dark colored and light
colored moths increased and decreased as the changing conditions affected their relative ability to
survive and create offspring.
Scientific naturalists (Darwinists) will use this example to show that this proves evolution is a fact,
and that natural selection is simply a directing

Autonomy is the concept of the patient having control over his or her own body ( Saint Joseph s

The front line staff will need to be aware of the cost benefit to different treatment plans and involve
the patient in the plan as a partner and not just a patient. Moreover, documenting the discussion and

Deforestation In Latin America Essay
Deforestation is defined as: the clearing of virgin forests, or intentional destruction or removal of trees
and other vegetation for agricultural, commercial, housing, or firewood use without replanting and
without allowing time for the forest to regenerate itself (SCRIBD). Deforestation has been a problem
in Latin America since the early 1900s and the severity of the dilemma is increasing rapidly.
Deforestation not only has consequences for the environment, but also, the indigenous people and the
national economy. The logging industry in Latin America is often exploited by multinational
companies that are not properly regulated. The land that has provided a home and cultivated
indigenous development for centuries is being dissipated rapidly. Due to an exponentially growing
global population, there is an increased demand for low priced goods like timber, crops, and meat.
Many Latin American countries value revenue from selling these goods over the health of their local
ecosystems. The crisis of deforestation and habitat loss is shifting from a local to global problem. As
deforestation continues, global warming escalates worldwide, impacting every country and person.
About 15 percent of global greenhouse gas emissions come from tropical deforestation, which is more
than from all the world s cars, trucks and buses combined (Schwartzman). Puerto Rico and Brazil
provide contrasting examples of the impact of deforestation. Puerto Rico had an economic and
environmental shift

Raising Cane s A Restaurant
Raising Cane s Restaurant
The food industry in Louisiana has been growing over the years and the Raising Cane s Restaurant has
been on the forefront in offering some of the best delicacies I have tasted in my life. Throughout my
life, I have had the pleasure of experiencing different restaurants and I can admit the experience has
not been disappointing at Raising Cane s Restaurant. For anyone looking to experience a different
taste of chicken, look no further than Raising Cane. Raising Cane mostly serves chicken fingers. In
fact, the restaurant s name is Raising Cane s Chicken Fingers. As its name suggests, it offers a variety
of meals, but chicken meals are their main foods. Todd Graves, who is the C.E.O of the restaurant and
Craig Silvey who was Todd s partner and currently the vice president of information technology and
finance established the restaurant in August 1996. The restaurant has its headquarters in Baton Rouge,
Louisiana, which was the location of the first restaurant. Today, Raising Cane is found in over 250
locations in the U.S and other countries including Kuwait as of September in 2015.
I set out to visit the restaurant for lunch last Friday and the first thing I noticed was its theme color,
which is red. The restaurant s logo is made of a mixture of white, yellow and black colors on a red and
a small yellow background. Its location is equally catchy because it is located at the intersection of
University Drive and Rural Road, which is next to Arizona

  • 2. Cursive Is A Powerful Brain Tool There is no standard way of taking notes. Although students have their own methods of studying and taking notes, it has been proven that cursive writing is more beneficial to students rather than taking notes. Most educational programs do not require students to learn cursive writing while some do. It has been proven to be more effective to those who take notes rather than those who type their notes. In the article Cursive Is a Powerful Brain tool the author gives a variety of examples as to why cursive writing is a beneficial writing technique to students. Psychologists did a study on students who handwrote notes and students who typed their notes. In paragraph 2, the author states, In one study, psychologists found students learned ... • 3. Single Variable Response ( Svr ) Single Variable Response (SVR) has been a methodology often used for qualitative analysis of the training results obtained from Evolutionary neural network (EvoNN) and Bi Objective genetic programming (BioGP) [Pettersson et~al., 2007], [Jha et~al., 2015b]. In SVR, a style of variation is created by generating values between zero and one on time scale. The trend line is irregular, that is there are regions of constant values, sharp increases and sharp decreases in the line. This has been referred to as input signal in the following text. Here, an input signal is furnished for each variable (alloying element). The response of that signal (that corresponds to that particular variable) was checked with respect to the input signal for the objectives and constraints trained through the selected model. For SVR testing, the input signal (trend of variation) was used for one of the variables, while the other variables were kept constant at an average value. The model output response was plotted against the variable trend. The various responses were tabulated for each of the models. Following terminologies were used in SVR testing: 1. Direct: This means that the model output increases on increasing the value of input signal and decreases on decreasing the value. 2. Inverse: This means that a particular variable will affect the model output in opposite manner. That is, if we quantitatively increase/decrease the value of that particular variable (concentration of this ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 5. Business Model Analysis On The Management Of The... For a company to achieve maximum impact on their strategies whether marketing, financial or expansion the company must understand their business activities. Efficiency in managing business activities ensures smooth operation for maximum profit (Brinkman, 2). The business model strategy enhances the management of the enterprise and operational design to conform to profit making goals by implementing the segmentation of business activities. The research report will employ the business model canvas to study and perform data analysis on the quickly growing taxi company Uber Company. Data analysis is the deliberate activity of collecting and presenting data in a form that highlights useful information that is helpful in decision making (Boyd, 18). Data analysis can be described as the implied process of taking the whole of the collected data and identifying trends to determine direction, meaning and implications, in addition to asking questions about the received data and making comparisons within it to expand concepts from it (Warner, 13). Travis Kalanick and Garrett Camp founded Uber Company back in 2009. The company s objective was to come up with a mobile app that was to dominate in the transportation sector (Reilly Williams 32). The Uber app is known to allow users to make their trip request over the app, which is also where taxi drivers get routed. By March 2015, this service was accessible in over 55 nations and over 200 cities all over the world (Hirschey, 19). One of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

For instance, when an acute hemolytic reaction can occur when a patient receives incompatible blood. The symptoms of which include pain, chills, fever, tachycardia, hypotension, and even renal failure (Kessler, 2013). However, misidentification is the main dilemma for most transfusion errors during blood sample collection. This can include patients not being identified correctly during the time of the blood sampling or transfusion administration, or the mislabeling of products such as tubes or the blood unit. Many patients worry about blood transfusions being contaminated with disease when they should be worrying about the completely preventable fatal reactions healthcare members can hinder. With close attention and hospital enforcement of strict procedure guidelines, safety and accuracy throughout the transfusion process is possible. Several healthcare associations have taken interest in minimizing misidentification. Many have even taken steps to help diminish frequency. The Joint Commission has issued a national safety patient goal that states Eliminate transfusion errors related to patient misidentification. The elements of performance for this safety goal include that the following should be done before performing a transfusion: blood should be matched to the order, the patient should be matched to the blood, and the patient must correctly be identified. The Joint Commission aims to verify patients quickly and efficiently. By using a two person identification process they hope precision is easily attainable. The two identifier check is a widely recommended patient verification process that requires checking the order, blood ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 7. Essay on Hostilities Between Men of Faith and Science When Copernicus and Galileo voiced their observations opposing the Catholic Church, Copernicus and Galileo were labeled as a threat for a couple reasons. For example, Copernicus and Galileo s observations did not support the Catholic Church s teachings. Copernicus and Galileo discovered that the sun does not revolve around the Earth but that the Earth revolves around the sun. The Church believed that Only God knows how he created the universe, (Gascoigne) so there was no way that Copernicus and Galileo could know that the Earth revolves around the sun. In the Bible it says, The world also is stablished, and it cannot be moved. (The Book) This was interpreted by the Church to mean that Earth cannot move, therefore the sun must be ... During the scientific revolution, women were generally unable to receive a formal education and therefore, were very rarely respected for their views. For example, Margret Cavendish, who came from an aristocratic background, participated in many scientific debates, wrote two scientific works, and set a great example of women scientists in France and England (Berdine). Regardless of her accomplishments, Cavendish was denied membership from the Royal Society (Berdine). • 8. Attending A Magnet School Program Essay Attending a magnet school which based its education in the arts I never realized how drastically different my curriculum was than that of other middles schools. The difference went beyond middle schools in my district or state, but affected me closer to home at my high school. In middle school, education more frequently came from collaborative coursework rather than traditional lesson plans. The transition to high school was difficult because it seemed that students focused on social status and school administration focused on standardized testing scores. When looking at my education compared to course readings, I have found that despite my two schools being in the same school district and city, they each proposed different notions as to how schools should be ran and what makes education valuable. Anoka, Minnesota is a northern suburb of the Twin cities. The city is home to around seventeen thousand residents and proudly wears the name of the Halloween Capital of the World. Anoka has 6 public schools which take residence within city; three elementary schools, two middle schools, and one high school. Although the students from the two middle schools become one when they enter ninth grade, what they learn in middle school is vastly different. Sandburg middle school sits only four blocks from Fred Moore Middle School. What is going on inside the two schools, however, is different. Sandburg, like most middle schools across the country, focuses on subject which are viewed as ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The story was timed well and shortened from the original biography of Corrie Ten Boom, The Hiding Place. This story is mostly about how a Christian with so much faith can change the world. In the book many times Corrie shows compassion and forgiveness. This book takes place in the Netherlands. I like history and this was a great story given during WWII, during the Nazi reign. Corrie and Betsie spent 10 months in three different prisons, the last of which was Ravensbruck Concentration Camp near Berlin. Betsie died at Ravensbruck, but Corrie lived and got of the Concentration Camp to tell her story. While Corrie was in Ravensbruck, she never gave into despair. When people would fight for their own survival, she would give her life for them. In the harshness of the camps Corrie would always pray for other people and give them hope. One quote from her shows her faith toward God, There is no pit so deep that God s love is not deeper still. This was quote was amazing because of what she endured in the death camps. It is a story, decorated with colorful detail and authenticity, of a girl adjusting to a new home and growing up. In the introduction to the novel, Cisneros paints a picture of who she had been at the time she had written this novel. Cisneros discusses how as a girl she always wanted to move into a standalone house as opposed to the apartments she had been living in throughout her early childhood. She also mentions her father s role in her life and how they had not often seen eye to eye. Her father had never understood why she wanted to live in a house. He also had wanted Cisneros to marry and have babies, however, at the time she had written this novel, she had been uninterested in that. Meanwhile, she states that she has never had a father or boyfriend beat her when she writes about how privileged her life had been up to that point. This is all reflected in The House on Mango Street. Sandra Cisneros writes in her own unique voice in The House on Mango Street by using unconventional short anecdotes that feature a cast of distinct characters to include aspects of her own life. In the beginning of the introduction, Cisneros describes what she was like when she was a young. Cisneros writes, As a girl, she dreamed of having a silent home, just to herself... (Cisneros xii). This desire is reflected through Esperanza, the narrator, in the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 16. The Speaker s Daughter Figurative Language Summary In the poem the speaker s daughter is being mocked by some white children for being Japanese. The speaker then has a flashback to her time living in Slocan. She remembers the time when the other white kids made fun of her and she ran into the forest to hide and at the same time talks about the woodticks that can dig into your scalp. When she reaches deep into the forest, she then listens for the voices of the kids to guide her back onto the path, and she vows to never go near the mountain alone again. Then she flashes forwards back to the present and she reassures her daughter that they do not have woodticks in Saskatoon. From reading the poem it can be determined that the speaker is the author, Joy Kogawa. One of the major giveaways of this is the name of the daughter: Deidre. The underlying technology and algorithms used for persistent surveillance with sensors has existed for a couple decades, beginning with stationary security cameras and existing today with manned and unmanned aircraft (Yao et al. 2010; Keck, Galup, and Stauffer 2013). With the addition of UAVs as a sensor platform the sustainability and duration of surveillance tasks are greatly improved. Surveillance of a region using aerial vehicles is used for various purposes, such as monitoring weather, potential hazard or natural disaster zones, regional threats, and observation and reconnaissance (N. • 26. Stress And Oxidative Stress Aerobic organisms need molecular oxygen (O2) for respiration or oxidation of nutrients to obtain energy. There are some reactive by products of cellular respiration, derived from molecular oxygen, that are generated continuously in cells grown aerobically, such as hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) superoxide anion radical (O2 ), and the highly reactive hydroxyl radicals (OH).These reactive oxygen species (ROS) are essential for various functions such as homeostasis and cell signaling but an imbalance in favor of reactive oxygen species results in oxidative stress (OS) (Kashmiri et al.,2014). Oxidative stress (OS) result in interference in the functioning of biological systems that maintain levels of environmentally produced reactive oxygen species (ROS), by readily detecting and detoxifying them (Lucana et al., 2012). Living organisms have adopted mechanisms to protect themselves against oxidative stress, by producing enzymes such as catalase and superoxide dismutase, small proteins like thioredoxin and glutaredoxin, and molecules such as glutathione ( Cabiscol et al.,1999). Metallo enzymes such as superoxide dismutases are the primary antioxidant enzymes that protect cells from oxidative damage of superoxide radicals, by catalyzing dismutation of superoxide (O2 ) to hydrogen peroxide and oxygen. St. Aquinas explained three conditions under which war could be justified. First, there must be a Sovereign authority under which war is waged, and a private individual has no capacity to wage war. Aquinas argues that, those in authority are responsible for the general good of the city, kingdom or province under them, and they are allowed by law to use the sword to defend that good from internal disturbance from evildoers. In the same way, Aquinas argues that it is the responsibility of the authority to use the sword to defend the common good from external foes. As a new parent, there are millions of questions, worries, and decisions one deals with throughout the whole child s life. When a child is first born, a mother has to decide whether or not to breastfeed or formula feed. The nutrition a baby receives in the first months of life is what determines if the baby has a good or bad start. Women should breastfeed their children because breastfeeding boosts chances of success for their child, allows their baby to receive natural immunity from antibodies, mothers are less likely to develop diseases such as cancers or diabetes, and breastfeeding stimulates oxytocin to promote bonding between mother and child. Breastfeeding is the best choice for a baby. The natural process of breastfeeding is the most beneficial for the baby and many studies have concluded that breastfeeding boosts chances of success. In Brazil, a group of doctors took on a project to see if there was a difference from a breastfed child and a formula fed one. These doctors randomly picked out more than 3,000 babies and studied them from the time they were born until they turned thirty years old (Breast Feeding). Once these babies reach thirty, they were given an IQ test that concluded, the subjects who were breast fed for 12 months or more had a higher IQ than those who were breast fed for less than one month. • 34. Scientific Naturalism E. Existential Viability Does scientific naturalism successfully explain the origin of life? The answer is yes, and no. Scientific naturalism explains how life functions quite well, but it fails miserably in explaining how and where life came from. Nobody who understands biology will argue that evolution does not occur, in the narrow understanding that certain changes happen naturally. Johnson reminds us of a famous piece of evidence for Darwinism that most of us learned about in science class. It was a study of an English peppered moth population consisting of both dark and light colored moths. During the industrial revolution, smoke from the factories darkened the surrounding trees with soot. This caused the percentage of dark colored moths to increase, due to their advantage in hiding from predators. The light colored moths were obviously at a disadvantage and their numbers decreased. When the air pollution decreased, the trees became lighter due to not being covered in soot, the light colored moths began to increase while the dark colored moths decreased. Both colors were present during this time, and so no new characteristics were created. The percentage of dark colored and light colored moths increased and decreased as the changing conditions affected their relative ability to survive and create offspring. Scientific naturalists (Darwinists) will use this example to show that this proves evolution is a fact, and that natural selection is simply a directing ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 37. Deforestation In Latin America Essay Deforestation is defined as: the clearing of virgin forests, or intentional destruction or removal of trees and other vegetation for agricultural, commercial, housing, or firewood use without replanting and without allowing time for the forest to regenerate itself (SCRIBD). Deforestation has been a problem in Latin America since the early 1900s and the severity of the dilemma is increasing rapidly. Deforestation not only has consequences for the environment, but also, the indigenous people and the national economy. The logging industry in Latin America is often exploited by multinational companies that are not properly regulated. The land that has provided a home and cultivated indigenous development for centuries is being dissipated rapidly. Due to an exponentially growing global population, there is an increased demand for low priced goods like timber, crops, and meat. Many Latin American countries value revenue from selling these goods over the health of their local ecosystems. The crisis of deforestation and habitat loss is shifting from a local to global problem. As deforestation continues, global warming escalates worldwide, impacting every country and person. Todd Graves, who is the C.E.O of the restaurant and Craig Silvey who was Todd s partner and currently the vice president of information technology and finance established the restaurant in August 1996. The restaurant has its headquarters in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, which was the location of the first restaurant. Today, Raising Cane is found in over 250 locations in the U.S and other countries including Kuwait as of September in 2015. I set out to visit the restaurant for lunch last Friday and the first thing I noticed was its theme color, which is red. The restaurant s logo is made of a mixture of white, yellow and black colors on a red and a small yellow background. Its location is equally catchy because it is located at the intersection of University Drive and Rural Road, which is next to Arizona ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
