The School s Process For Financial Expenditures Not Being...
Introduction Edwin M Wells Middle School, in Houston, Texas, is part of the Spring ISD. The school,
in 2015, reports enrolling 1,165 students in grades six through eight, and it has 69 teachers on staff.
The problem is the school s process for financial expenditures not being well aligned with students
needs. By streamlining the process for financial expenditures, it will ensure the expenditures fulfill
students needs efficiently and appropriately. The impact the problem is having is that when the lessons
are not fully supplemented with the required supplies there is a lack of engagement in the classroom.
Therefore, the system must be streamlined in order to fulfill student needs. Methodology and Results
Improvement Cycle #1: ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In the observations of the classrooms, we had a chance to observe a lesson that had the correct
supplies. In this classroom setting, a large number of the students appeared to be engaged and were
able to answer questions easily. The students interacted better in the class when the supplies were
present because they were able to have visual and hands on references to engage the students. We also
observed a classroom that did not have the supplies needed and found that a large percentage of the
students were not engaged, and a few had their heads down on their desks. In this class, when the
teacher asked questions only three students participated and the rest did not. During both classroom
visits we made sure to pick similar teachers that were teaching the same subject with similar lesson
plans. We began to see the effect of not having supplies versus having a well supplied classroom. We
then realized that the school s process for financial expenditures is not well aligned with students
needs and was affecting the end product, which provides the engagement and educational needs of the
students. If we could repeat this process, we would have tested more classrooms to see if these
observations continued. We would test to see if supplies received on time helped keep students
engaged, and increased successful learning by aiding in student

Relationship Between the Study of Heat and Kinetic Theory...
Heat, Kinetic Theory of Matter, and Temperature:
In all scientific areas, heat and temperature are significant concepts, especially in a student s daily life
and activities. Moreover, people deal with heat and temperature in their day to day experiences though
several households have significant misconceptions about these concepts. The study and examination
of heat and temperature is important because it provides students with a means for exploring energy
interactions in order to see the process with which thermal energy is transferred. As a result of the
investigations, students obtain knowledge on the greater idea of conservation of energy. While
temperature is described as a measure of average kinetic energy of a substance, heat is regarded as the
wild motion of molecules in a substance (Chalfant, Peyron Raschke, 2005).
Relationship between the Study of Heat and Kinetic Theory of Matter: Unlike the kinetic theory of
matter, the study of heat is described and explained through science. The kinetic theory of matter
basically explains the differences between the three states of matter while stating that every matter
consists of moving particles that are usually atoms or molecules. These particles are strongly bound to
each other making them to only vibrate but not move to a different location in solids ( Kinetic Theory
of Matter , n.d.). On the other hand, the particles have adequate space that enables them to move
around though they still attract each other. Since

Chapter 28 Cpt Coding
Chapter 28 CPT
CPT coding is to make sure the patient is getting billed for the correct services that was rendered. The
Tabular list is a compilation of codes divided in different categories: Category I, II, III. Category I is
the basis of CPT codes. Category II is used for tracing information. Category III is short term codes
for collection of services rendered and procedures. There are 15 appendices that are used as guides.
Modifiers help report situations. Locating codes are done by finding the main term. Assess
information provided such as notes and terms. Locate the code. Guidelines are presented in the front
of the sections. Special instructions help point out rules on how to use codes. Instructional notes are
located in parentheses ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Codes are divided because of the location of sinuses. Endoscopy can be performed three different
ways; transnasal, transnoral, and transorbital. Occasionally, procedures are grouped by size, type or
differences.
Chapter 39 Cardiovascular Pacemakers can be short term or long term. Batteries for pacemakers hold
up for about 5 to 15 years. Nonselective catheter is approached through the aorta or vessel. Selective
catheter is approached through a vessel going to the aorta then proceeds to other arteries that sector
from the aorta to vessels that need fixing. Coding for selective catheter is from the greater distal area.
Second branch order is the subclavian artery.
Chapter 31Evaluation and Management Criteria: setting evaluation, contact was it direct or indirect, is
patient a child or infant, service provided, is the patient established/new. Service level consist of three
components, which is the history, exam, and decision made at the time of visit. Patient that has seen
the doctor for three year is established. One that has not seen the doctor is new. There are four levels
of making a decision. HPI factors relate to the issue the patients is dealing with. ROS factors relates to
the sign of illness. PFSH factors deals with the history of the patient and history of the

The Capulin Volcano
The Capulin Volcano interestingly enough, is apart of what s known as the Raton Clayton volcanic
field (RCVF), a collected scattering of other volcano s that stretch well over 7,000 square miles.
Located in Northeastern New Mexico, the Capulin lies dormante, although some believe extinct, since
it s last volcanic activity more than 60,000 years ago. Capulin underwent a rather large eruption that
formed its current 1000ft cinder cone shape, which gave way to a number of small lava flows and
cinder eruptions [that] paved over the mound, steepening it s slopes (NASA, 2016). The base was
inital made from the hot ash, cinder, and rock debris of the eruption, and the lava flows themselves
were basalt, deriving from the melting of the mantle (Sayre and Ort, 2011). Due to ... Show more

Taking a look back to the past, although the history of each place are different, there is a common trait
that both area s shared around the same time. It is apparrent that not only was Colorado and the area of
Dinosaur Ridge submerged in water at the time of the Cretaceous period, but so was New Mexico and
the region that would be the Capulin Volcano. The rise in sea level covered much of the west and
connected one ocean to another and similar to Colorado, the sea level in New Mexico receded and
decreased periodically. When it expanded and covered an area, dark colored, fine grained, and thin
bedded marine sediments were deposited, [and] when the seaway contracted and retreated, beach,
river and delta deposits built out and covered the marine deposits (Sayre and Ort, 2011). Towards the
end of the Cretaceous period, the sea level dropped and perminatly retreated, much like in Colorado.
At present both Capulin Volcano and Dinosaur Ridge are recongized as national monuments and
easily accessable to the public, and various geological scientists, students and

Peanut Butter And Jelly Research Paper
Compare Nut Butters for Diabetes Nutrition
Nut butters have become a buzzword in the health community as they are a tasty way to help combat
chronic diseases, such as cardiovascular problems. Nut butter have health nutrients and can play a
good role in a well balanced diet. Compare nut butters for diabetes to see which ones are the best
choices.
Each nut butter offers different benefits, a unique flavor and can be beneficial for your health. Peanut
butter is the most well known of all the nut butters and is still the most popular spread at leading
grocery stores. Often the thought of peanut butter brings to mind the yummy peanut butter and jelly
sandwiches packed in our lunch boxes when we were kids. However, jelly can be full of sugar with
little nutritional value. Consider using fresh fruit or sugar free preserves instead. Choose peanut butter
that is free of hydrogenated oil and preservatives. The fewer ingredients listed on the label, the better.
Consider reduced fat peanut butter, which contains fewer calories and less fat. Be aware ... Show more

It has a similar texture to peanut butter but has more monounsaturated fat per serving to help promote
better heart health. Plus, almond butter usually has less sugar and no hydrogenated oil. Look for an
almond butter that contains just one ingredient almonds.
Another popular nut butter is cashew butter, but it might not always be a good choice. Read the label
as it can be higher in sugar than peanut butter or almond butter and lower in protein. Some types of
cashew butter do have slightly less fat. Consider making cashew butter yourself in a food processor to
get all the benefits of this yummy nut without the unwanted sugar.
Sunflower seed butter can be a wise choice for people with allergies to tree nuts. It is also rich in fiber
and nutrients such as vitamin E, niacin and magnesium that are important for people with

Hokusai s The Great Wave Off Kanagawa
It appears everywhere: in the art gallery, on the dresses from the latest runway show and even on your
iPhone s protective case......What I m talking about is one of the most distinguished pieces of Japanese
art, The Great Wave off Kanagawa. These blue waves, generating from the sea of Kanagawa,
immediately rippled through the world and continue to draw millions of people. The work has such an
everlasting charm because it enjoys high artistic, ideological, and historical value. Firstly, the woodcut
itself is aesthetically expressive and features the traditional Japanese aesthetic taste. Created by
Japanese ukiyo e artist Hokusai in his late years, it shows how skillful he became in keeping the
balance between realistic style and impressionistic style. What mostly catches our eyes is the sea that
dominates the composition as an extending wave about to break. Both the deep blue of the inner side
of the curve and the splash of its ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Even though Hokusai was a traditional Japanese artist, he had been absorbing painting skills from the
west and The Great Wave off Kanagawa also used perspective in a way that any Japanese viewer
would have found thoroughly western. (Screech, 2012, p105). Not long after the work was created, in
1853, the arrival of Commodore Matthew Perry and his black ships forced Japan to open to the world.
Ships stemmed on from harbors, carrying goods with printed ukiyo e on the wrappers which soon
arouse the interests of the western world. Critics especially praised Hokusai as among the greatest
masters of all time. As Screech (2012, p105) stated, Hokusai seemed to show, at just the right time,
that Japan was not just a borrowing nation but an originating one too. Impressionist artists were also
inspired by his stylish work to develop an entirely new way of representing and even seeing the

Groundwater Lab Analysis
Groundwater samples will be analyzed using the methods presented at the top of Table 1. EPA
approved instrumentation methods will be used in the standard analysis of VOCs (Method 8260), total
metals (Method 7470 for Mercury and Method 6010 for all other PP metals), and SVOCs (Method
8270) which are published by EPA and routinely performed by most commercial laboratories. These
methods with associated instruments, and method detection limits (MDL), and sample hold times are
briefly summarized as follows: 8260: Analysis of volatile organic compounds by gas chromatography

One particularly sensitive method for analysis of pure solvent (applicable to wells containing DNAPL)
involves combustion of the chlorinated hydrocarbon sample with CuO, precipitation of AgCl and
formation of CH3Cl for analysis on IRMS [10]. Isotopic ratios are expressed in the delta notation, δ,
which represents the per mil variation of the isotopic ratio standard. For carbon, the 13C/12C ratio is
established by the Pee Dee Belemnite international standard and 37Cl/35Cl ratio is compared to the
Standard Mean Ocean Chloride (SMOC) standard by the following equation: δ13C or δ37Cl =
(Rsample/Rstandard 1) * 1000. Comparison of the deltas for both compounds as part of a multi
isotopic approach will provide greater confidence in the determination of the plume source by
providing a more fine tuned view of chlorinated solvent signatures compared to single isotope
analysis, particularly under consideration that δ37Cl values are typically within a much smaller range
than that of δ13C.
Laboratory Quality Control
The laboratory will utilize a variety of quality control sample types as shown in Table 3. Matrix spikes
and matrix spikes duplicates will be performed on field samples that are provided with sufficient
volume (generally three times original sample volume). All other blanks, duplicates and control
samples will originate in the laboratory and be performed to ensure accuracy of the analytical method,
equipment and procedures. These

Describe My Mother
I view my mother as the outmost magnificent person in my life, and I can t be more thankful to have
her. I would describe my mother as a strong and independent woman, my role model; I can t think of
another person that means a great deal to me. My mother is the sweetest and the trust worthiest
person, but she can also be tough and deliberate. My grandparent s personalities are strict, therefore
my mother was raised in a harsh environment, this thought her to be strong and that not everything is
easy in life or handed to you. I consider her as the hardest working person I ever know, consequently
thanks to her hard work she achieved countless goals in her life. She would always say to me you have
to work hard to achieve your dreams , I believe her. If you knew her you ll be impressed by her strong
character, moreover, she is someone that you will admire if you met her and knew her. She makes a
wonderful mother and I m sure she will make a great friend. My mother s name is Lidia Montano
Ramos, she was born in La Paz, Bolivia; there she lived most of her life, next to the side of my father
who is her husband, moreover now they have 23 years married. If you ever wanted to meet my
mother, you could, it s obvious to tell her apart from a crowd. The first thing that calls for attention is
her hair, she has wavy hair, s waves mixed with natural ringlets fighting the frizz that could be noticed
for a long distance. Her hair is always in a messy low ponytail, but when she is going somewhere
elegant she frees her hair and puts it down, you ll recognize the difference. The second point to notice
is her lips, they are much the same as a fresh coral pink, the upper lip is darker than the lower. She has
a tiny scar on the right side of the upper lip almost untraceable, however, it s most likely that you will
not notice it. When she paints her bow shaped lips, she likes the diva red. Her hair and her lips are
traits that stand out the further, she has other characteristics too, although they don t stand out as much
as her hair and lips.
Her character is one of the strongest assets she has. She treats everyone equally with respect, but if
you disrespect her, she will just simply walk away without saying a word. Even though

Assignment ( Hatters ) ( Transthyretin )
B30001 Assignment (Hatters) Transthyretin
Benjamin Andrikopoulos 759192
Introduction to TTR:
Transthyretin (TTR) is a protein in the blood (serum) and cerebrospinal fluid of humans that functions
in the transport of the thyroid hormone thyroxine (T4) and retinol (also known as Vitamin A1). [1] It is
secreted by the liver into the blood and by the choroid plexus into the cerebrospinal fluid. [2] Studies
have shown that as less than 1% of TTR s T4 binding sites (T4BS) in the blood are in use and
occupied, new drug designs can be specialised and optimised to bind to these sites, thus preventing
TTR misfolding, dissociation, and aggregation. [4] Amyloid diseases are associated with the
misfolding and dissociation of the TTR tetramer and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Figure 1. Three dimensional cartoon style structure of transthyretin (TTR) showing two
monomers/one dimer of the dimer of dimers quaternary structure (monomers pink and orange) at the
binding interface. Stick style top view of AG10 (blue) highlighting two binding sites per tetramer and
key binding serine and lysine residues S117 and K15 of TTR (green). All monomers of TTR contain 1
α helix and an 8 stranded β sheet with Greek key topology.
Interaction differences AG10 vs. tafamidis:
With AG10 binding to TTR, the dimethyl pyrazole like ring of AG10 sits deep within the T4BS cavity,
forming two H bonds to two Ser117 residues of subunits adjacent to each other. The CH3 pair of the
pyrazole ring are positioned into halogen binding pocket 3 (HBP 3), which is considered a
hydrophobic area. [4] The terminal COOH group on the benzene ring allows for van der Waals
interactions with the side chain amino groups of the two Lys15 residues directly on different
monomers at the edge of the T4BS, with the F moiety in the para position fitting into HBP 1. These
interactions close to the binding environment surrounding AG10 are protected in part from the
surrounding solvent, leading to high affinity binding of AG10 to TTR. [4]
Contrasting with tafamidis hydrogen bonding is absent at the base of the binding pocket like with
AG10, but the Cl substituents are instead located in HBP 3, where hydrophobically the subunits are
bridged. [4] This absence of additional

Comparing The Clash Of The Titans And Atomic Theory
The Clash of the Titans and Atomic Theory
The first episode in BBC s Atom documentaries, The Clash of the Titans, narrated by nuclear physicist
Jim Al Khalili, greatly enhanced my understanding of atomic theory and the scientists who discovered
it. Through the use of clever analogies and detailed visuals, Al Khalili brilliantly explains not only the
basis of how several key theories were discovered, but also demonstrates the struggle of several
radical scientists to prove quantum theory to the traditionalist scientific community. The section on
atomic theory in the first unit contained topics I had always struggled in. From remembering which
scientist discovered what aspect, to the details of their experiments, the information never stuck with
me very well. After watching ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
When Rutherford bumped into his assistant Geiger who reported that nothing out of the ordinary had
occurred he asked him and his fellow students to check if any of the particles could also be seen on the
other side of the foil. For days, the students found nothing, until one afternoon it was discovered that
approximately one in eight thousand of the particles bounced back. These observations lead to
Rutherford s model of the atom, which in the documentary was related to a solar system in the way
that the electrons orbited the nucleus. This visual enhanced my understanding of the concept greatly,
as it clearly showed just how much of the atom was empty space. Al Khalili also described another
theoretical situation that illustrated that point even more effectively. If all of the empty space within
every atom in a human body was removed, he explained that the remaining mass, though it would
hold the same weight, would be smaller than a grain of salt. In fact, he attested that if this were to
happen to all humanity, all seven billion of us would be able to fit inside the size of an

My Experience Through My Mentorship Experience Essay
Through my mentorship experiences, I have discovered many different things about myself. I learned
that I am good at encouraging others to push themselves. I also realized that I am someone who is goal
orientated and like to have a focus during all my discussions. During every mentorship meeting, I like
to have an agenda for the meeting and a focus for our deliberations. I also like to revisit goals my
mentees had set during the first session and writing new goals, as I measure success through results. I
realized that I am good at encouraging others as over time I have seen my mentees speak more often
and try to communicate effectively without looking for words on their phones. An interesting thing I
discovered about myself through my mentorship experience is that I always thought that since I had
traveled to many places around the world and had a keen interest in learning about other cultures, I
was culturally well rounded. However, conversations with my mentees made me realize that many of
the things I thought I knew about cultures such as Chinese culture were solely concepts introduced to
me from a tourist point of view. My mentees shared stories with me about television in China, and
how the channels they could access were government controlled. They also explained the Chinese job
world to me while discussions ways to write a resume for summer jobs. They told me how children

years as a boot merchant. In 1892, he decided to take advantage of incorporated status, and convert his
business into Limited Liability Company. To do this he set up a

retaining control of the company.
As a separate legal entity, Mr. Salomon then sold his merchant leather business to Salomon Co Ltd for

company in the form of £10,000 in cash, £1in 10,000 shares and the remaining £9,000 he left in the
business as a loan to the company, which he secured against assets of the business.
Within months the company ran into trouble, and within a year went into liquidation. Even though it
would mean suppliers and employees who were owed money would go unpaid, Mr. Salomon claimed
his secured loan back from the company.

The seasonal influenza vaccine has been in existence for a numerous amount of decades, therefore so

increasing acceptance statistics. During the many outbreaks of different classified strands of avian

The Three Branches Of Congress
The United States government is comprised of three branches; executive, legislative and judicial. Of
these branches it is said that the President, under the executive branch, has the most power. Congress
as part of the legislative branch, however according to the text, American Government Institutions and
Policies by James Wilson, John Dilulio, and Meena Bose, to the Framers of the Constitution, the
bicameral (two chamber) Congress was the first branch. They expected Congress to wield most of the
national government s powers...and [have] the ultimate authority to declare war (p. 303). However, as
we know the commander in chief (the President) has the authority to declare war, and can be
considered as the central figure in American politics . Coincidentally, the relationship between
Congress and the President, expected by the Framers of the Constitution, is seemingly different than
what they originally had in mind. The dynamic of both entities have shifted over the years; especially
in reference to how the legislative branch operates. Most contemporary Americans and many experts,
however, think of Congress not as the first branch but as the broken branch, unable to address the
nation s most pressing domestic, economic, and international problems in an effective way; unduly
responsive to powerful organized special interests; awash in nonstop campaign fundraising and other
activities that many believe border on political corruption; and unlikely to fix itself through real
reforms (p.303). The power and authority of the United States governmental branches has shifted

A Critical Evaluation Of Rice Processing Machines Essay
The design that was chosen for this project was one of a few that were considered. However, after a
process of analysis and evaluation, the design chosen was deemed the best to achieve the best possible
results in the process of processing wild rice.
Description of Metrics
Metrics are the measures otherwise termed as parameters of assessment of qualities that are
quantitative. They are used to measure, compare and track performance as well as levels of
production. Metrics are used to make comparisons regardless of the variations in the subject matters,
in this case which are machines. In order to establish metrics used in this project a critical evaluation
of rice processing machines was done considering the output given as well as the set goals. In other
words metrics can be defined simply as tools used to evaluate performance or Key Performance
Indicators (KPIs) [24].
The metrics applied in the selection of this design include:
Quality
Quality is defined as the standard of something (machine) compared to others of the same category
(rice processing machines). With regard to manufacturing, quality is idealistically interpreted as the
non inferior or superior nature in comparison to others. It is a measure that determines how fit a
machine is for its set purpose. It is a measure that can be described as conditional or otherwise
subjective to which every individual has their own definition. Consumers are more concerned with the
quality specified whereas manufacturers are

Pathology Of The Autonomic Nervous System
Introduction
In this report, the symptoms of this patient will be diagnosed, and the causes of them discussed with
reference to the physiology and pharmacology of the autonomic nervous system.
The Autonomic Nervous System
The autonomic nervous system (ANS) is the part of the motor division of the peripheral nervous
system (PNS) that controls involuntary processes in the body (Wieczorek, 2014). Such functions
include control of heart rate, gland activity, smooth muscle contraction and constriction of blood
vessels (Biology online.org, 2014). The ANS is divided into two branches, the sympathetic nervous
system (SN) and the parasympathetic nervous system (PN). The SN is responsible for the fight or
flight response, which results in increased preparedness for vigorous activity in response to exercise or
emergency. The PN acts antagonistically to the SN, in that it produces the opposite effects to those of
the SN. Under normal circumstances, the PN is dominant, and allows processes such as digestion and
defecation to occur, while also conserving energy (Elmhurst.edu, 2014). Most of the visceral organs of
the body are innervated by both sympathetic and parasympathetic neurones, with the exceptions being
sweat glands and the smooth muscle of blood vessels they are only innervated by sympathetic nerve
fibres (Wieczorek, 2014).
In the ANS, a number of different neurotransmitters and receptors are present. In both the PN and SN,
the neurotransmitter at the ganglia is

Adventures Of Huckleberry Finn Satire Essay
In many great novels, such as Adventures of Huckleberry Finn, the author utilizes the great literary
element of satire. Satire has many different purposes, such as poking fun at things, or pointing out
fault in them. Mark Twain enjoys using satire in his classic novel, Adventures of Huckleberry Finn,
where he uses it in many ways. Twain satirizes the south, the upper class, society, and more, but one
thing that he definitely felt strong about was racism. He often satirizes racists, and their use of the
word nigger . In Adventures of Huckleberry Finn, Mark Twain satirizes how people used the word
nigger to classify Africans as not actual people, people offended Africans with the word nigger , and
people used the word inappropriately in a casual or positive way.
Throughout Huckleberry Finn, Mark Twain satirizes how nigger is used as to tell Africans they were
not people. An example of that would be this dialogue between Huck and Aunt Sally, It wasn t the

White men saw Africans as less than them, and since nigger was often used to describe Africans, it
had a negative connotation, like in the following quote. The notion of Negro inferiority was so deeply
pervasive among those heirs of The Enlightenment that the categories and even the vocabulary of
Negro inferiority were formalized into tedious, unmodulated litany. This uniformity increased rather
than decreased during the course of the century. As Leon Litwack and others have shown, even the
abolitionists, who actively opposed slavery, frequently regarded blacks as inherently inferior (Smith
363). In this way, the word nigger offended people because of how people used it to describe Africans
who whites saw as lesser. Some whites didn t even see them as people, some people just saw them as
things. The word nigger brings up the old idea of African

Second Book To A Court Of Thorns
No Spoiler section
This is the second book to a court of thorns and roses by Sarah J Maas, which I would highly
recommend. The first book is a retelling of the fairy tale beauty and the beast. While the first one was
amazing in my opinion, the second one was even better. If you haven t read the first one yet, you need
to. And if you read the first, but not the second you need to. And if you haven t read either one of them
then you need to stop reading now and leave. I m serious these books are amazing and you don t want

Let s talk about the ending, I couldn t believe it. It wasn t until Tamlin and Lucien came out at the end

The Development of Royal African Company Essay
England s interest in Africa for trading purposes can be traced back to 1481 when two Englishmen
prepared for an expedition to the Guinea Coast. At this time the King of Portugal, John II asked
Edward IV of England if they could not continue with the expedition because of Portugal s claim to
the Guinea Coast, and Edward complied. It was not until 1536 when William Hawkins, father of
famous shipbuilder in the Elizabethan era Admiral Sir John Hawkins, made the first three voyages and
traded with Brazil. Hawkins went back in 1553 to the Gold Coast and sold goods mainly for gold near
Elmina on the South Coast of present day Ghana. He then traveled inland to Benin where they
obtained pepper and elephant teeth. After losing about two thirds of ... Show more content on

What Is The Failure Of Nokia
Nokia Corporation
Nokia Corporation is one of the world s largest vendor of mobile phones from 1998 to 2012. At
Nokia, they are committed to connecting people around the world through technology. From 2014,
Nokia reorganized its structure into four category of business groups: Mobile Phones, Multimedia,
Enterprise Solutions, and Networks. Nokia operates 15 manufacturing facilities in nine countries and
maintains research and development facilities in 12 countries (Reference For Business, n.d.).
In 1865, Nokia first started its operation as a paper mill by a Finnish engineer, Fredrik Idestam, at the
Tammerkoski Rapids in Southern Finland. The name Nokia was inspired by the location of his second
mill which was built on the banks of the Nokianvirta river in 1868. The firm was transformed into a
share company with Leo Mechelin in 1871. Towards the end of 19th century, the company expanded
into the electronic business segment. Meanwhile, Eduard Polon established Finnish Rubber Works in
1898 and Arvid, Wickstrom started operation for Finnish Cable Work in 1912. The three companies

One of the reasons were the management s reluctance to change due to the risk involved in software
changing. Nokia underestimated the importance of the transition to smartphones, after all, most of
their profits earned in the mobile phone industry in 2007 were not coming from smartphones segment.
Allocating a lot of resources into a high end, low volume business would have seemed risky.
Therefore, Nokia s failure resulted from an institutional reluctance to transit into a new era. Another
mistake that Nokia committed was to overestimate the strength of its brand, believing that they would
be able to catch up in the smartphone competition even if they were late. Nokia continued to insist that
its superior hardware designs would win over

Analysis of Leda and the Swan Essay
Analysis of Leda and the Swan. Greek mythology. Analysis of Leda and the Swan. Greek mythology
has, throughout history, been the subject of much debate and interpretation. Conjuring up images of
bloody battles and crumbling cities, its descriptions of the epic battle between good and evil still have
remarkable relevance and continue to resonate with poignancy in our bleak, war torn society. The
poem Leda and the Swan, written by William Butler Yeats, attempts to shed new light on what is
arguably one of Ancient Greece s most controversial myths. In this essay I aim to study the poem in
more depth, analysing what Yeats says and how he says it. Leda and the Swan is an interpretation of

One could go further and argue that the intentional eroticism of something so violent is somewhat
sinister after all, a caress is supposed to be an act of affection and love, and is not normally associated
with something spiteful and violent. A sense of the victim s entrapment and entanglement is created in
the next line, in which Yeats describes the swan s wings as dark webs (the word dark is also used to
portray the swan and its actions as sinister). This sense of entrapment is emphasised where the swan is
said to have the nape of the victim s neck trapped in its bill . The contrast in texture between the words
nape and caught emphasise the power of the action. Yet, despite the brutality of Zeus initial action, the
softness of the word bill implies that it is forceful, yet not overpowering. The eroticism which
occurred in the second line continues in the line He holds her helpless breast upon his breast . The
softness of the words used, combined with the sexual connotations which they carry, lends the line an
erotic tone, made sinister by the forceful nature of the animal s actions. The second stanza of the poem
consists of two questions, both pondering on the nature of the victim s actions,

Articles of the Confederation left the power to the states to levy taxes, and regulate commerce. It did
accomplish what it was intended to do as far as placing limits on government authority, giving
citizenship to the people, and give members the ability to expand into the western part of America to

The Anatomy And Physiology Of The Eye
The human eye is a wonderful organ enabling us to perform all our daily tasks. The sense of sight
allows to do almost all activities. There are countless activities including studying, cooking, driving,
or playing an instrument. Other tasks that vision is helpful for would be communicating, working,
making life a lot easier, which are very essential. Most people would agree that vision is more
valuable than the rest. The eyes allow us to interpret colors and shapes. This happens after a long
complex process, starting from the reflect of light on the objects to the eyes and ends up in the brain as
images. Having a healthy eye is very important and improves the quality of a person s life. In this

The eye is protected by a cushion of fat and a bony orbit surrounding the eye s anterior part. There are
also accessory structures that protect the eye and help maintain the eye s function. These accessory

anterior part, because it contains eyelashes at the edges, which prevents debris or small particles like
dust or sand from entering the eye. It also contains lubrication glands to keep the eye moistened, such
as tarsal glands and ciliary glands. The Conjunctiva is a transparent membrane which also produces

One Ordinary Day With Wallets Short Story
One Ordinary Day, with Wallets Mr. Johnson put on his uncomfortable shoes and then trudged out into
the way to bright and shiny morning sunshine. He was not in the best of moods, so when he stopped at
a newspaper stand to pick up his daily morning newspaper, he spoke angrily to the salesperson to
hurry up. When another man came to buy a paper, Mr. Johnson quickly stole his wallet and hid it in a
secret pocket in his jacket. Then he acted extremely apologetic when the man couldn t find it and even
paid the 60 cents for the paper, so as to not seem suspicious. When he had walked a few blocks away
from the newspaper stand Mr. Johnson hunched over some and began to walk slowly. He arrived at a
crosswalk and then started to painfully cross it. A naive woman quickly ran up and said Would you
like me to assist you, sir?
Mr. Johnson eyed the expensive looking dress and shoes the lady was wearing and replied Yes, thank
you, it is so kind of you to aid me.
As they reached the sidewalk the lady said Where are you headed? Oh, just simply down the street to
the drugstore to buy myself some heart medication. Mr. Johnson said.
The woman said, Well, then I ll walk you there.
Mr. Johnson then replied Oh that won t be necessary, but I appreciate your kindness in helping me
across the street. Then he swiftly and sneakily stole her wallet from her purse and rushed away. She
was dumbfounded about how he was suddenly able to walk fast, but simply shrugged it off and went
about her day, not knowing that her wallet was gone until it was too late. Mr. Johnson then headed to a

he got there he asked for a hot dog with mustard. The man gave him one and just as Mr. Johnson was
about to take a bite, he accidentally dropped it. The man at the cart said Oh sir, I m so sorry, let me

Sudden Infant Death Syndrome Analysis
As I stated in the abstract, Sudden Infant Death Syndrome is the unexpected death of a healthy infant
in its sleep usually under the age of one. It is also known as crib death because the death usually
occurs in the crib. Sudden Infant Death Syndrome claims the lives of approximately 2,500 infants
each year. The majority of SIDS deaths occur between 2 and 4 month year olds. The cause of SIDS is
unknown in infants under one, but for infants over the age of one, there is a cause. A few of the causes
of SIDS include: smoking or drinking during pregnancy, inadequate prenatal responsibility,
prematurity, inexperienced mothers, smoking near or around the baby, enormous amounts of heating
from blankets or pajamas, and placing a baby on its stomach (Floyd R. Livingston Jr., MD. Sudden
Infant Death Syndrome. KidsHealth. 2014. Web).
The reason why the cause is unknown in infants less than one year old is due to the fact that a
thorough investigation cannot be performed since the baby is too young. If, however, the baby is over
one year, there can be an investigation. This usually includes an autopsy, a thorough investigation of
the death, and an examination of the infant s health. Also, another cause of SIDS can include
suffocation of the baby. This usually happens when the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

In King Lear, Shakespeare portrays a society whose emphasis on social class results in a strict social
hierarchy fueled by the unceasing desire to improve one s social status. It is this desire for improved
social status that led to the unintentional deterioration of the social hierarchy in King Lear. This desire
becomes so great that Edmund, Goneril, Reagan and Cornwall were willing to act contrary to the
authority of the social hierarchy for the betterment of their own position within it. As the plot unfolds,
the actions of the aforementioned characters get progressively more desperate and destructive as they

National Peace and Security
Security is everywhere. It is needed for virtually everything that is accessed today. From starting your
car, to logging onto Facebook, to clocking in at work, security is always present. One of the most
noticeable forms of security is the police and the Army. They are the security for the country, both for
internal and external threats. Police are more internal security, dealing with crimes caused by the
general population. Army deals with outside threats, by addressing situations that are overseas that can
cause harm to those within the States. To protect from these threats, the security appears to look
intimidating, due to powerful weapons and armor placed upon the person. However, when this
happens, a side effect occurs, where the civilians may become scared of the force, and begin to distrust
the security, and also began to fear corruption. To be able to stop this side effect from happening, the
security sector reformation must find the corrupt who cause the distrust and fear to occur, and end it.
The way to best reform the security sector within societies within transition is by finding and
removing the corrupt, and by doing that, you will raise faith in the security sector by the people. High

British Control Over The Suez Canal
In 1882, Great Britain took over Egypt through military invasions, making it a protectorate in order to
have control over the Suez Canal. The Suez Canal connected the British Empire in the west to India in
the east, making it significant trade route for Britain to control. During the Cold War, Egypt became an
area of great tension, challenging British control over the canal. There was an increase of nationalism,
along with the rise of Gamal Abdel Nasser to power. His rise to power lead to the Suez Canal Crisis
and Egypt s independence from Britain in 1956. The Arab Spring began in Tunisia in December, 2010,
eventually spreading to Egypt in 2011. British control over parts of Africa during the nineteenth
century lead to many crises in the 20th and 21st centuries, including the Suez Canal Crisis and the

How Does Roald Dahl Use Humor
Roald Dahl uses comedy and humor in many ways throughout many of his books and movies. The
types of humor that he uses ranges from satire to dark humor to low comedy. Roald Dahl adds comedy
and humor to his books and movies to make them more interesting and funny. Humor also emphasizes
certain scenes or lines in a book making them stand out and more memorable. Roald Dahl puts humor
and comedy into his books and movies from experiences in his own life. This makes the funny and
humorous lines or scenes more realistic and relatable. By using types of comedy like physical humor,
satire, and dark humor; Roald Dahl makes it so that the reader is anywhere from chuckling to rolling
on the floor with laughter.
Roald Dahl uses physical humor a lot in books such as Matilda and Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.
Some examples of when he uses physical humor are in Matilda The Trunchbull takes a little girl by
her pigtails and spins around in a hammer throw then letting go of the girl. The physical humor in this
is that The Trunchbull is throwing a girl by her pigtails and also when she is landing and she gets up
perfectly happy and ok with a bouquet of flowers. In Charlie and the Chocolate Factory the physical

  • 2. The School s Process For Financial Expenditures Not Being... Introduction Edwin M Wells Middle School, in Houston, Texas, is part of the Spring ISD. The school, in 2015, reports enrolling 1,165 students in grades six through eight, and it has 69 teachers on staff. The problem is the school s process for financial expenditures not being well aligned with students needs. By streamlining the process for financial expenditures, it will ensure the expenditures fulfill students needs efficiently and appropriately. The impact the problem is having is that when the lessons are not fully supplemented with the required supplies there is a lack of engagement in the classroom. Therefore, the system must be streamlined in order to fulfill student needs. Methodology and Results Improvement Cycle #1: ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In the observations of the classrooms, we had a chance to observe a lesson that had the correct supplies. In this classroom setting, a large number of the students appeared to be engaged and were able to answer questions easily. The students interacted better in the class when the supplies were present because they were able to have visual and hands on references to engage the students. We also observed a classroom that did not have the supplies needed and found that a large percentage of the students were not engaged, and a few had their heads down on their desks. In this class, when the teacher asked questions only three students participated and the rest did not. During both classroom visits we made sure to pick similar teachers that were teaching the same subject with similar lesson plans. We began to see the effect of not having supplies versus having a well supplied classroom. We then realized that the school s process for financial expenditures is not well aligned with students needs and was affecting the end product, which provides the engagement and educational needs of the students. If we could repeat this process, we would have tested more classrooms to see if these observations continued. We would test to see if supplies received on time helped keep students engaged, and increased successful learning by aiding in student ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Relationship Between the Study of Heat and Kinetic Theory... Heat, Kinetic Theory of Matter, and Temperature: In all scientific areas, heat and temperature are significant concepts, especially in a student s daily life and activities. Moreover, people deal with heat and temperature in their day to day experiences though several households have significant misconceptions about these concepts. The study and examination of heat and temperature is important because it provides students with a means for exploring energy interactions in order to see the process with which thermal energy is transferred. As a result of the investigations, students obtain knowledge on the greater idea of conservation of energy. While temperature is described as a measure of average kinetic energy of a substance, heat is regarded as the wild motion of molecules in a substance (Chalfant, Peyron Raschke, 2005). Relationship between the Study of Heat and Kinetic Theory of Matter: Unlike the kinetic theory of matter, the study of heat is described and explained through science. The kinetic theory of matter basically explains the differences between the three states of matter while stating that every matter consists of moving particles that are usually atoms or molecules. These particles are strongly bound to each other making them to only vibrate but not move to a different location in solids ( Kinetic Theory of Matter , n.d.). On the other hand, the particles have adequate space that enables them to move around though they still attract each other. Since ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The Capulin Volcano The Capulin Volcano interestingly enough, is apart of what s known as the Raton Clayton volcanic field (RCVF), a collected scattering of other volcano s that stretch well over 7,000 square miles. Located in Northeastern New Mexico, the Capulin lies dormante, although some believe extinct, since it s last volcanic activity more than 60,000 years ago. Capulin underwent a rather large eruption that formed its current 1000ft cinder cone shape, which gave way to a number of small lava flows and cinder eruptions [that] paved over the mound, steepening it s slopes (NASA, 2016). The base was inital made from the hot ash, cinder, and rock debris of the eruption, and the lava flows themselves were basalt, deriving from the melting of the mantle (Sayre and Ort, 2011). Taking a look back to the past, although the history of each place are different, there is a common trait that both area s shared around the same time. It is apparrent that not only was Colorado and the area of Dinosaur Ridge submerged in water at the time of the Cretaceous period, but so was New Mexico and the region that would be the Capulin Volcano. The rise in sea level covered much of the west and connected one ocean to another and similar to Colorado, the sea level in New Mexico receded and decreased periodically. When it expanded and covered an area, dark colored, fine grained, and thin bedded marine sediments were deposited, [and] when the seaway contracted and retreated, beach, river and delta deposits built out and covered the marine deposits (Sayre and Ort, 2011). • 7. Hokusai s The Great Wave Off Kanagawa It appears everywhere: in the art gallery, on the dresses from the latest runway show and even on your iPhone s protective case......What I m talking about is one of the most distinguished pieces of Japanese art, The Great Wave off Kanagawa. These blue waves, generating from the sea of Kanagawa, immediately rippled through the world and continue to draw millions of people. The work has such an everlasting charm because it enjoys high artistic, ideological, and historical value. Firstly, the woodcut itself is aesthetically expressive and features the traditional Japanese aesthetic taste. Created by Japanese ukiyo e artist Hokusai in his late years, it shows how skillful he became in keeping the balance between realistic style and impressionistic style. What mostly catches our eyes is the sea that dominates the composition as an extending wave about to break. Both the deep blue of the inner side of the curve and the splash of its ... Even though Hokusai was a traditional Japanese artist, he had been absorbing painting skills from the west and The Great Wave off Kanagawa also used perspective in a way that any Japanese viewer would have found thoroughly western. (Screech, 2012, p105). Not long after the work was created, in 1853, the arrival of Commodore Matthew Perry and his black ships forced Japan to open to the world. Ships stemmed on from harbors, carrying goods with printed ukiyo e on the wrappers which soon arouse the interests of the western world. Critics especially praised Hokusai as among the greatest masters of all time. As Screech (2012, p105) stated, Hokusai seemed to show, at just the right time, that Japan was not just a borrowing nation but an originating one too. These methods with associated instruments, and method detection limits (MDL), and sample hold times are briefly summarized as follows: 8260: Analysis of volatile organic compounds by gas chromatography and mass spectrometry (GC MS); MDL for VOCs generally less than 1 ppb see method [8]; Hold time = 14 days. 6010: Inductively coupled plasma atomic emission ... One particularly sensitive method for analysis of pure solvent (applicable to wells containing DNAPL) involves combustion of the chlorinated hydrocarbon sample with CuO, precipitation of AgCl and formation of CH3Cl for analysis on IRMS [10]. Isotopic ratios are expressed in the delta notation, δ, which represents the per mil variation of the isotopic ratio standard. For carbon, the 13C/12C ratio is established by the Pee Dee Belemnite international standard and 37Cl/35Cl ratio is compared to the Standard Mean Ocean Chloride (SMOC) standard by the following equation: δ13C or δ37Cl = (Rsample/Rstandard 1) * 1000. Comparison of the deltas for both compounds as part of a multi isotopic approach will provide greater confidence in the determination of the plume source by providing a more fine tuned view of chlorinated solvent signatures compared to single isotope analysis, particularly under consideration that δ37Cl values are typically within a much smaller range than that of δ13C. Laboratory Quality Control The laboratory will utilize a variety of quality control sample types as shown in Table 3. Matrix spikes and matrix spikes duplicates will be performed on field samples that are provided with sufficient volume (generally three times original sample volume). All other blanks, duplicates and control samples will originate in the laboratory and be performed to ensure accuracy of the analytical method, equipment and procedures. These ... I would describe my mother as a strong and independent woman, my role model; I can t think of another person that means a great deal to me. My mother is the sweetest and the trust worthiest person, but she can also be tough and deliberate. My grandparent s personalities are strict, therefore my mother was raised in a harsh environment, this thought her to be strong and that not everything is easy in life or handed to you. I consider her as the hardest working person I ever know, consequently thanks to her hard work she achieved countless goals in her life. She would always say to me you have to work hard to achieve your dreams , I believe her. If you knew her you ll be impressed by her strong character, moreover, she is someone that you will admire if you met her and knew her. She makes a wonderful mother and I m sure she will make a great friend. My mother s name is Lidia Montano Ramos, she was born in La Paz, Bolivia; there she lived most of her life, next to the side of my father who is her husband, moreover now they have 23 years married. If you ever wanted to meet my mother, you could, it s obvious to tell her apart from a crowd. The first thing that calls for attention is her hair, she has wavy hair, s waves mixed with natural ringlets fighting the frizz that could be noticed for a long distance. Her hair is always in a messy low ponytail, but when she is going somewhere elegant she frees her hair and puts it down, you ll recognize the difference. The second point to notice is her lips, they are much the same as a fresh coral pink, the upper lip is darker than the lower. She has a tiny scar on the right side of the upper lip almost untraceable, however, it s most likely that you will not notice it. When she paints her bow shaped lips, she likes the diva red. Her hair and her lips are traits that stand out the further, she has other characteristics too, although they don t stand out as much as her hair and lips. Her character is one of the strongest assets she has. She treats everyone equally with respect, but if you disrespect her, she will just simply walk away without saying a word. Even though ... Assignment ( Hatters ) ( Transthyretin ) B30001 Assignment (Hatters) Transthyretin Benjamin Andrikopoulos 759192 Introduction to TTR: Transthyretin (TTR) is a protein in the blood (serum) and cerebrospinal fluid of humans that functions in the transport of the thyroid hormone thyroxine (T4) and retinol (also known as Vitamin A1). [1] It is secreted by the liver into the blood and by the choroid plexus into the cerebrospinal fluid. [2] Studies have shown that as less than 1% of TTR s T4 binding sites (T4BS) in the blood are in use and occupied, new drug designs can be specialised and optimised to bind to these sites, thus preventing TTR misfolding, dissociation, and aggregation. [4] Amyloid diseases are associated with the misfolding and dissociation of the TTR tetramer and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Figure 1. All monomers of TTR contain 1 α helix and an 8 stranded β sheet with Greek key topology. Interaction differences AG10 vs. tafamidis: With AG10 binding to TTR, the dimethyl pyrazole like ring of AG10 sits deep within the T4BS cavity, forming two H bonds to two Ser117 residues of subunits adjacent to each other. The CH3 pair of the pyrazole ring are positioned into halogen binding pocket 3 (HBP 3), which is considered a hydrophobic area. [4] The terminal COOH group on the benzene ring allows for van der Waals interactions with the side chain amino groups of the two Lys15 residues directly on different monomers at the edge of the T4BS, with the F moiety in the para position fitting into HBP 1. These interactions close to the binding environment surrounding AG10 are protected in part from the surrounding solvent, leading to high affinity binding of AG10 to TTR. [4] Contrasting with tafamidis hydrogen bonding is absent at the base of the binding pocket like with AG10, but the Cl substituents are instead located in HBP 3, where hydrophobically the subunits are bridged. [4] This absence of additional ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Comparing The Clash Of The Titans And Atomic Theory The Clash of the Titans and Atomic Theory The first episode in BBC s Atom documentaries, The Clash of the Titans, narrated by nuclear physicist Jim Al Khalili, greatly enhanced my understanding of atomic theory and the scientists who discovered it. Through the use of clever analogies and detailed visuals, Al Khalili brilliantly explains not only the basis of how several key theories were discovered, but also demonstrates the struggle of several radical scientists to prove quantum theory to the traditionalist scientific community. The section on atomic theory in the first unit contained topics I had always struggled in. These observations lead to Rutherford s model of the atom, which in the documentary was related to a solar system in the way that the electrons orbited the nucleus. This visual enhanced my understanding of the concept greatly, as it clearly showed just how much of the atom was empty space. Al Khalili also described another theoretical situation that illustrated that point even more effectively. If all of the empty space within every atom in a human body was removed, he explained that the remaining mass, though it would hold the same weight, would be smaller than a grain of salt. They are used to measure, compare and track performance as well as levels of production. Metrics are used to make comparisons regardless of the variations in the subject matters, in this case which are machines. • 21. Pathology Of The Autonomic Nervous System Introduction In this report, the symptoms of this patient will be diagnosed, and the causes of them discussed with reference to the physiology and pharmacology of the autonomic nervous system. The Autonomic Nervous System The autonomic nervous system (ANS) is the part of the motor division of the peripheral nervous system (PNS) that controls involuntary processes in the body (Wieczorek, 2014). Such functions include control of heart rate, gland activity, smooth muscle contraction and constriction of blood vessels (Biology online.org, 2014). The ANS is divided into two branches, the sympathetic nervous system (SN) and the parasympathetic nervous system (PN). The SN is responsible for the fight or flight response, which results in increased preparedness for vigorous activity in response to exercise or emergency. The PN acts antagonistically to the SN, in that it produces the opposite effects to those of the SN. Under normal circumstances, the PN is dominant, and allows processes such as digestion and defecation to occur, while also conserving energy (Elmhurst.edu, 2014). Most of the visceral organs of the body are innervated by both sympathetic and parasympathetic neurones, with the exceptions being sweat glands and the smooth muscle of blood vessels they are only innervated by sympathetic nerve fibres (Wieczorek, 2014). In the ANS, a number of different neurotransmitters and receptors are present. In both the PN and SN, the neurotransmitter at the ganglia is ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Satire has many different purposes, such as poking fun at things, or pointing out fault in them. Nokia underestimated the importance of the transition to smartphones, after all, most of their profits earned in the mobile phone industry in 2007 were not coming from smartphones segment. Allocating a lot of resources into a high end, low volume business would have seemed risky. Therefore, Nokia s failure resulted from an institutional reluctance to transit into a new era. Another mistake that Nokia committed was to overestimate the strength of its brand, believing that they would be able to catch up in the smartphone competition even if they were late. • 28. Analysis of Leda and the Swan Essay Analysis of Leda and the Swan. Greek mythology. Analysis of Leda and the Swan. Greek mythology has, throughout history, been the subject of much debate and interpretation. Conjuring up images of bloody battles and crumbling cities, its descriptions of the epic battle between good and evil still have remarkable relevance and continue to resonate with poignancy in our bleak, war torn society. The poem Leda and the Swan, written by William Butler Yeats, attempts to shed new light on what is arguably one of Ancient Greece s most controversial myths. In this essay I aim to study the poem in more depth, analysing what Yeats says and how he says it. Leda and the Swan is an interpretation of the Greek myth wherein Zeus, in the ... One could go further and argue that the intentional eroticism of something so violent is somewhat sinister after all, a caress is supposed to be an act of affection and love, and is not normally associated with something spiteful and violent. A sense of the victim s entrapment and entanglement is created in the next line, in which Yeats describes the swan s wings as dark webs (the word dark is also used to portray the swan and its actions as sinister). This sense of entrapment is emphasised where the swan is said to have the nape of the victim s neck trapped in its bill . The contrast in texture between the words nape and caught emphasise the power of the action. Yet, despite the brutality of Zeus initial action, the softness of the word bill implies that it is forceful, yet not overpowering. The eroticism which occurred in the second line continues in the line He holds her helpless breast upon his breast . The softness of the words used, combined with the sexual connotations which they carry, lends the line an erotic tone, made sinister by the forceful nature of the animal s actions. The second stanza of the poem consists of two questions, both pondering on the nature of the victim s actions, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

These accessory structures include the eyelids, eyebrows, lacrimal apparatus, conjunctiva, and the extrinsic eye muscles. The eyebrows function is to shade the eye from sunlight and keep out perspiration from reaching the eye. The eyelids contains the nerves that initiate reflex blinking, and protects the eye s anterior part, because it contains eyelashes at the edges, which prevents debris or small particles like dust or sand from entering the eye. • 32. One Ordinary Day With Wallets Short Story One Ordinary Day, with Wallets Mr. Johnson put on his uncomfortable shoes and then trudged out into the way to bright and shiny morning sunshine. He was not in the best of moods, so when he stopped at a newspaper stand to pick up his daily morning newspaper, he spoke angrily to the salesperson to hurry up. When another man came to buy a paper, Mr. Johnson quickly stole his wallet and hid it in a secret pocket in his jacket. Then he acted extremely apologetic when the man couldn t find it and even paid the 60 cents for the paper, so as to not seem suspicious. When he had walked a few blocks away from the newspaper stand Mr. Johnson hunched over some and began to walk slowly. He arrived at a crosswalk and then started to painfully cross it. The man gave him one and just as Mr. Johnson was about to take a bite, he accidentally dropped it. The man at the cart said Oh sir, I m so sorry, let me fetch you another one. • 33. Sudden Infant Death Syndrome Analysis As I stated in the abstract, Sudden Infant Death Syndrome is the unexpected death of a healthy infant in its sleep usually under the age of one. It is also known as crib death because the death usually occurs in the crib. Sudden Infant Death Syndrome claims the lives of approximately 2,500 infants each year. The majority of SIDS deaths occur between 2 and 4 month year olds. The cause of SIDS is unknown in infants under one, but for infants over the age of one, there is a cause. A few of the causes of SIDS include: smoking or drinking during pregnancy, inadequate prenatal responsibility, prematurity, inexperienced mothers, smoking near or around the baby, enormous amounts of heating from blankets or pajamas, and placing a baby on its stomach (Floyd R. Livingston Jr., MD. Sudden Infant Death Syndrome. KidsHealth. 2014. Web). The reason why the cause is unknown in infants less than one year old is due to the fact that a thorough investigation cannot be performed since the baby is too young. If, however, the baby is over one year, there can be an investigation. This usually includes an autopsy, a thorough investigation of the death, and an examination of the infant s health. Also, another cause of SIDS can include suffocation of the baby. This usually happens when the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... • 35. National Peace and Security Security is everywhere. It is needed for virtually everything that is accessed today. From starting your car, to logging onto Facebook, to clocking in at work, security is always present. One of the most noticeable forms of security is the police and the Army. They are the security for the country, both for internal and external threats. Police are more internal security, dealing with crimes caused by the general population. Army deals with outside threats, by addressing situations that are overseas that can cause harm to those within the States. To protect from these threats, the security appears to look intimidating, due to powerful weapons and armor placed upon the person. However, when this happens, a side effect occurs, where the civilians may become scared of the force, and begin to distrust the security, and also began to fear corruption. To be able to stop this side effect from happening, the security sector reformation must find the corrupt who cause the distrust and fear to occur, and end it. The way to best reform the security sector within societies within transition is by finding and removing the corrupt, and by doing that, you will raise faith in the security sector by the people.
