This summary discusses three theoretical frameworks that will be used to theorize the study: New Literacy Studies (NLS), multimodality, and sociocultural identities theory. NLS views literacy as a social and cultural practice involving a variety of modes like visual and audio. Multimodality involves using multiple modes like visual and audio for meaning making. Sociocultural identities theory focuses on how identity is constructed through social interactions and literacy activities in various social and cultural contexts. These three frameworks will be used to connect with and help theorize the study.
