China s Political And Social Structures
China is the fastest emerging political power in the world, a power that in a short amount of time
turned from a third rate industrial nation with lots of raw potential, to the second largest economy and
one of the largest militaries in the world. But is China s political and social structures unique?
Certainly, the Chinese system possesses certain aspects similar to what already exists in other modern
nation states and their governments, however, it is how these pieces coelute together into a coherent
political and economic machine that makes the model unique. Politically, the Chinese Communist
Party is quite unique. Most authoritarian political parties are either dominated by party elites who only
pass on power to loyalists, or merely a military regime. The CCP, however, is significantly
technocratic, and much more inclusive. Many members of the CCP are not just military leaders or
individuals with law degrees, they also include engineers and more recently business leaders.
Furthermore, although there is a level of patronage in Chinese politics and society known as Guanxi,
in fact as Mingxing Liu states in his paper about advancement in the CCP Central Committee the
literature suggests that leaders were able to stay in power because they engaged in factional politics
instead of selecting the most capable officials (Victor Shih 2012) However, that was during the pre Xi
Jinping eras and quantifiable efforts have been made to combat corruption, especially in local

Great Candies Research Paper
Breathtaking Experience: Qualities of Great Candies
The average american consumes about twenty two pounds of candy each year. That is a lot of candy.
For people to consume so much, there really must be something special in them. The unique quality of
every candy is what makes the candy delicious. Similar qualities can be found in all great candies.
First, candies with nuts make them seem a whole lot more desirable. Crunch has a brilliant nutty and
crunchy taste. The nuts add some flavor to the boring chocolate taste. The nuts also provide the actual
crunch. Another candy with nuts is Snickers. Snickers have peanuts to make its chocolate bar more
flavourful. It becomes a great combination with the added caramel. Lastly, Payday covers its whole
surface with nuts. It is most likely the nuttiest treat out there. Payday mixes its nuts and caramel in
every bite you take. Nuts provide candy with a more stunning taste. ... Show more content on

Skittles are known for their colorful bite size treats. The assorted colors make the candy more exciting
to look at and eat. The colors hint on what flavor you are about to consume. M Ms are another treat
that have color. Most chocolates are the same boring brown, but M Ms are a rare chocolate candy that
has color. They allow the consumer to experience chocolate in a rainbow delight. Although the colors
do not indicate a special flavor, they do create a more enjoyable experience. Finally, Sour Patch Kids.
These are a unique sour and sweet treat with assorted colors. They also provide different flavors
associated with different colors. Thanks to the assorted colors, Sour Patch Kids can also be a fun color
learning tool for small kids. The quality of having color makes a candy a lot more

No Rain Blind Melon Analysis
The poem I picked that interested me the most is a song called No Rain by Blind Melon this song is
about depression and expresses the mind set of a depressed person through the lyrics. This song
captured my attention because I was depressed over a year ago and could relate to some of the lyrics
mentioned in the song. I had no modivation to do anything and would spend so much of my free time
distracting myself because I didn t want to face reality. Im not sure where my depression orginated
from it just happened I think it was alot of little things that made me depressed, like for most people
who are depressed they think their is nothing good for them no friends maybe, looks, grades etc. This
poem means alot to me because it speaks on other who are depressed and can give some people a
wake up call on how depression takes up not just their lives but mindset. Depression is something that

The lyrics capture imagery as well when someone awakes then he or she s life is now complete so
their cheeks aren t dry anymore because they have a person to share it with. Rythms in the lyrics help
remind the person reading or listening to the lyrics that the person depressed in the song has negative
thoughts about him or she life and about them that their life is plain, mouring of a person to share it
with, and trying to remeber that they are not sane. The song is special at capturing the listering and
readers attention over the lyrics by expressing how one person can view themself and their life in a
depressed way. I really love this song because it means that just because you believe your life is plain
and boring or that you have no one and you have to remind your self your not sane that you can
change your life by making it something better then it already

Sample Synthesis Lab Report
Calculating the Molar Mass of an Unknown Compound Through the Observed Freezing Point
Depression
*Hardy Prosper, Aurore Folefack (Lab Partner), Jessica Potts (T.A.) Chem 112 572
Introduction
Cold tolerant fish have the ability to survive in freezing waters that would kill many other animals,
due to them lowering the freezing point of water inside their bodies. This is due to the colligative
property of freezing point depression, a process in which adding a solute to a solvent lowers the
freezing point of the solvent. A colligative property is a physical property that depends on the amount
of solute in the solution, rather than the nature of the chemical structure. The overall goal of this
experiment was to determine the identity of an unknown

The Decline Of The Mayan Civilization
The early Mayan civilization had lowly beginnings. They rose to remarkable heights in a seemingly
inhospitable land. As Maya scholar Arthur Demarest said Such a civilization, had no business there.
The Mayans had to battle with torrential rain in the rainy season, and when the weather turned hot, it
scorched the land and their water supplies would plummet. They were always faced with floods or
drought. They were probably forced here due to overcrowding from other tribes. But nonetheless they
began to conquer these threats as they learned advanced farming techniques to make the shallow earth
fertile. They burned and cleared jungle to make room for their agriculture, particularly maize. They
then began the process of crop rotation, long before anyone else. As the Mayan civilization began its
steady uprising they began to redouble their efforts, they started composting, cultivating, they built
irrigation systems and began to terrace the landscape to make farming more efficient and prevent
erosion. They dammed rivers and flooded swamplands and marshes to create rich farmland. They
instituted transport systems to move fertile silt and mud from lowlands to higher enclosed gardens and
farms and created man made lakes and ponds that they used to fish and systems of corrals held wild
game. They maximized their talents and squeezed out enough nourishment to support their population
which had risen to several million people. It took time but the Mayans began to thrive in the

Impact Of Economic Regulations On Monopolies
It is true that economic regulations have several impacts on monopolies. The economic and societal
dangers of monopolies are clear. To combat the effects of these large corporations, the government has
uses both regulatory legislation and court cases, to regulate monopolistic businesses. Though the U.S
has followed varied strategies, the aim of restricting market hegemony has been relatively constant.
Though examples of attempts at government regulation are widespread, three stand out from the rest:
the 19th Century railroads, Microsoft, and IBM.
It is true that antitrust laws that are aimed to curb monopolistic behaviors help to promote competition
in the market. Antitrust laws endeavor to encourage competition and promote the production of

Case Study: Palapa Politics

The main issues in this case are regarding to a scarce resource, a beachfront Palapa, which is an
important product for this resort adding great value to customers. Due to this very limited spots The
Caribbean Palm Resort has been struggling for developing the right pricing strategy in order to
achieve both revenue and customer satisfaction goals. However, the approaches to date they
considered have been inconsistent and too complex. As a result, it could confuse customers and staff
and also jeopardise their business.

The resort keeps changing its price policy frequently and it confuses the customers and it is unreliable.
Towel Hut * Too much responsibility: It is no longer a towel hut. It covers not only distributing and
collecting towels but also explaining policy, taking reservations and managing palapas and customers
complaints and so on.
Recommended Solutions and Justification * Increasing the supply: The resort could provide more
palapas so that more quests can have opportunity to enjoy it. However I assume that there could be a
limitation of installing palapas by government (such as not to damage the nature). There is no
information regarding government s permission. If so, they should offer alternatives for customers.
The alternatives could be canopies or beach umbrellas. However, these should be provided free. *
Abandoning the first come, first served system: All palapas should be rented so that some customers
who choose not to pay for palapas would not feel frustrated or slighted and it is fairer for every
customer to pay for them and no one needs to line up and waste time. * Consistent and reliable pricing
strategy: The Price system should be an hourly basis not daily. For instance, the resort charges $8 /
hour for the use of a palapa. The resort needs to optimize their scarce resource wisely. * Allocating
towel hut s responsibility: The resort should

The Benefits Of Water Fluoridation
Water fluoridation was first implemented in the USA in 1945 and since then there are around 25
countries in the world that receive fluoridated water and around 10% of the UK population.
Fluoridation schemes started when a significant association of fluoride and lower incidence of tooth
decays was noticed, in naturally occurring fluoridated areas with 1mg/L of fluoride. Therefore,
fluoride has been added where needed, in order to obtain the optimal concentration of around 1mg/L.
This concentration is determined the optimal, as it is where the public gets the maximum prevention of
dental caries with the minimum adverse effects. In the UK, Birmingham was the first city that
introduced fluoridation and it was estimated that between 1970 and 1980, ... Show more content on

About 50% of ingested fluoride is excreted through urine within 24 hours (Peter Gluckman; David
Skegg, 2014). Various factors may affect its bioavailability, for instance when it is ingested with food
it delays its absorption. The solubility and the complex formulation may also reduce the extent of
absorption. Unbounded free ions of fluoride are distributed via the circulation throughout the
intracellular and extracellular body fluids with volume of distribution of 0.5 0.7 L/kg (WHO 2000).
Plasma concentration is affected by the renal status and urinary pH, for example people with low
glomerular filtration rate have increased plasma fluoride concentration, thus increased levels of
fluoride in tissues and consequently are more susceptible to fluorosis (Peter Gluckman; David Skegg,
2014). Excretion may also occur through faeces and sweat. The remaining amount deposits and retains
in bones and teeth, where it incorporates into the crystal network. Bone retention reflects long term
exposure to fluoride and is affected by the factors such as age, sex and type of bone. Young children
with growing bones have much higher retention of fluoride compared to adults. Fluoride may also be
released back to the circulation when bones are remodeled, therefore plasma levels switch according
to this exchange between bones and circulation. It is also released

Non Traditional Student Essay
A non traditional student is defined as a student that has one or more of the following qualities:
delayed enrollment after high school, full time employment, part time college attendance, financial
independence, and/or does not have a high school diploma (Cox 7). The National Center for
Educational Statistics (NCES) estimated in a 1999 report that almost 75 percent of all undergraduates
possessed one or more nontraditional characteristics. However, according to the 2012 studies of
research studies in higher education, just 17 percent of college students are considered traditional
(Harpe and Kaniuka 250). With the overwhelming amount of non traditional undergraduates in
America comes three major challenges: institutional, situational, and dispositional.
The book After Admission highlights institutional challenges as a contributing factor for college
failure among disadvantaged students. Though community college enrollment rates have doubled in
the last thirty years, the level of efficiency of community colleges remains under scrutiny ... Show

However, for the nontraditional student, this is hardly ever the case, and that it s likely constraining
these assumptions to a student will not motivate any type of success (Vega and Moore 20).
In his article Success for Adult Students, Stephen Pelletier paints the picture of how many institutional
structure fails to accommodate the adult student s (which makes up 59% of the non traditional student
population) schedule. Because many adult students work full time, the traditional schedule of Monday,

Cult Of Personality Poster Analysis Essay
How do the Cult of Personality posters demonstrate elements of Confucianism? Using the Cult of
Personality posters as propaganda, Mao depicted himself as a god like figure, but still made efforts to
sustain the crucial ruler subject relationship of Confucianism (Chinese Posters). Most of the images
include Mao smiling, along with some of his subjects smiling or celebrating. This associates the
socialist dictator with happiness in an attempt to form a deep emotional connection with him. Mao
uses Filial Piety united with this happiness to demonstrate a need for the respect of his subjects. For
example, in one poster, Mao is depicted next to naval soldiers, in which he is the focal point. The men

But, they are highlighted stronger in the effects of the event. After encouraging civilians that oppose
him to criticize him and speak out, many did. People in positions of influence, such as teachers,
denounced Mao and his ideologies (Boyle). This was a ruse in order to seek opposition, and weed
them out from the rest of the country, because in a year, Mao s secret police gathered 500,000 people
who spoke out of his favor (Saunders). Typically, when a dictator wants to remain in power, they will
attempt to dissolve the opposing party, or those who would vote for them. Through the Hundred
Flowers, people were eliminated or denounced for the sole reason that they spoke against their leader.
Mao took away from them what is thought to be one of the most highly valued right: the freedom of
speech. The socialist dictator admitted it as well, claiming, What should our policy be towards non
Marxist ideas? As far as unmistakable counter revolutionaries and saboteurs of the socialist cause are
concerned, the matter is easy, we simply deprive them of their freedom of speech, (Boyle). With the
people who oppose him silenced, he was likely to remain in power, using Hitler s and Stalin s

Since Hurricane Katrina struck New Orleans in 2005, 4,500 public school teachers were fired in the

Why Do People Come Home In The 1950s
When I visualize the 50 s I picture a man in a suit and tie coming home from a long day s work in his
car. Then he opens the door to his home to see a perfectly clean house, his gorgeous wife, and his two
children dressed neatly in their Sunday best, but it s just a regular Tuesday evening. Next, he will sit in
his favorite chair while his better half gets him a drink and prepares a home cooked meal. The kids
have now given daddy hugs and kisses and are playing outside until mom will ring the dinner bell.

It is believed that this word was introduced to the English language because of the new way
adolescents acted. They no longer tried to be like their adult parents. Rock and Roll was a new genre

considered childish and immoral music, but the teenagers were rebellious and continued to indulge
themselves with the music even though their parents did not approve. Artists like Elvis Presley and
Chuck Berry were popular rock and roll musicians and brought the genre to life making the youth fall
even harder for the new sound. Now because this was the middle of the baby boomer generation, there
were a considerable amount of teenagers and this caused a change in our culture. Many social aspects

market for kids from the age of thirteen to eighteen. Movies like Gidget and Teenage Rebel or the

tailored to the teens desires. This was rather new in that time period and still exists today. We have

Persuasive Essay On Customer Service
There really does come a time when, as a pair of trains are getting close to each other and picking up
speed, that you know you should turn away, or at least wince meaningfully, in anticipation of the crash
and explosion of flames and flying metal that you know is just moments away. You know you should,
a part of you wants to, but you cannot turn away.
That is the feeling that I have these days as I watch the airline industry. There they are, flying along
with absolute, reckless abandon and it is just a matter of time before they hit something. I am not sure
what they will hit reregulation, economic reality, unlooked for competition from upstart airship
companies but I do know that when they hit it, it will be spectacular.
So what is fueling all this talk of crashing trains and dire predictions vis à vis the airlines? Two words:
Customer Service.
Any good businessman understands one thing if he understands nothing else that customer service is
vitally important to the continued survival of a company. In fact, ask any small business owner the
secret of his success and the answer will usually have something to do with customer service. You can
have the greatest product in the world, but if you don t work on customer service making the customer
s experience as good as it can be then you are not going to sell very much. If a recent survey from the
University of Michigan is correct, this seems to be a lesson lost on the majority of airline executives
these days. In fact, with

The Constitutional Right Of Liberty Of Contract, By...
All through time The United States of America and the people running have had the debate regarding
economic Freedom. Each President of the United States has handled the situation differently and a lot
of that has to do with their parties. The Republican Party has believed that the only way to success is
by achieving it, therefore their hard work should reflect towards their economic life and freedom. On
the other side of things are the beliefs of the Democrats, their views in favor equal opportunity for the
working class. Through time Liberal President, Franklin D. Roosevelt and his New Deal as well as
Conservative Republican Ronald Regan and his Trickle Down Economics , have both made the
biggest economic impacts regarding the debate. The constitutional right of liberty of contract,
mandated by the Supreme Court in the early 20th century, is allowing government to be involved with
businesses while benefitting the employees as well. Businesses during that time thought they had the
constitutional right to mandate hours, money, and all the other major ideas that made their business
stay up and running. Although on the other side the government viewed themselves as having the
upper hand in determining how a business should be ran. Its major theme was the right of individuals
and corporations to enter into contracts with one another. In essence, it was the backbone of
capitalism, and caused the economy to thrive and many individuals and corporations to achieve great

How Did Pope Francis s Position On Climate Change
In almost 200 pages, Pope Francis details his position on climate change in an encyclical released on
June 18th titled Laudato Si (Praise be to You). The pope warns of pollution, plundering of natural
resources, and cities he says are wasteful of energy and water in Laudato Si. He criticizes the
industrial system, saying it has not developed the capacity to absorb and reuse waste and by products .
The pope also notes the failure to ensure substantial water education in schools. He calls for wealthy
nations to make social and cultural changes, including ending a throwaway culture, increase funding
towards clean water/sanitary services for the poor, invest in research devoted to understanding our
ecosystems better, and make media sources

Comparison of The Hiding Place and Night Essay
The comparisons and contrasts between The Hiding Place and Night. Both books were written with
struggles, tenderness, agony, and fear in mind. Of these two books only one comes out and realizes
that what they have gone through was not a cruse but some what a blessing from God, Himself. The
struggles both face is more than just man against man but it is also a struggle within to find who they
truly are and whom they truly believe in. Both main characters, Eli and Corrie, faced something they
never knew they could face but only one comes out stronger than the other.
The Night was written by Elie Wiesel and The Hiding Place by Corrie Ten Boom. Elie an author Jew
and survivor of the Holocaust describes the excruciating pain he felt during the ... Show more content

The Hiding Place a story written with love and hope to share throughout the world was written by
Corrie Ten Boom who was not a Jew. Corrie with the help of Betsie, her sister, and family helped hide
Jews during the Holocaust. Corrie felt that she should help God s people no matter who they were.
Though Corrie felt she could never love these people like her sister she tried everything possible. One
thing in the shop I never learned to do as well as Betsie, and that was to care about each person who
stepped through the door. Often when a customer entered I would slip out the rear door and up to
Betsie in the kitchen. Betsie! Who is the woman with the Alpina lapel watch on a blue velvet band
stout, around fifty? (Corrie 54) Even though Corrie could never find a way to care for each person the
way Betsie did she still managed to help every person who walk through the door. Soon the German
police came to realize what her and her family was doing and arrested Corrie and her family. While in
prison at first Corrie had felt God had abandoned them but it was her sister who made her realize that
God never left them and his love never left them this was a trial to see how much they loved and truly
cared about God. Out in the cold one day they undressed and are naked walking by guards who are
laughing and staring at them both Corrie and Betsie so humiliated

What Role Does Personification Play In The Dream Of The Rood
The Dream of the Rood is has many literary techniques that are used throughout the piece. Jesus is an
illusion to Beowulf, a mythical conqueror during the early middle ages, in a way that he is described
as a warrior who is eager, and intending to redeem mankind. Elaine Treharne de emphasized the
beatings that Jesus went through during the time of the crucifixion in order to focus of him
overcoming sin and entering into a victorious state. Personification plays a major role in this poem
through the cross; the cross had to undergo all of the pain and suffering that Jesus Christ went through
in history in order to maintain the warrior persona of Jesus. The timeline that the Dream of the Rood
lays out also plays an important role in the overall

The Red Tent Gender Roles
The role and strength of women in a male dominated society in biblical times is the fundamental
theme of The Red Tent. The red tent is a physical and spiritual place, where the women of Jacob s
tribe his wives, servants and daughters, could rest while menstruating and childbearing, but more
importantly, it became a safe shelter for feminist unity and companionship. The red tent provides all
the women a haven to be in their power together, to learn from one another, to be part of a community,
and to celebrate their lives without any disturbance from the male chauvinism. In the red tent , women
such as Leah, Dinah and Rachel are able to play critical and decisive roles protectors, friends and
teachers.

Rachel is Jacob s favored and primary wife. (Stacy, 2002, 24) Early in the novel, Rachel stands out
initially for her beauty and magnetism. There is no denying that Rachel is a professional and sagacious
teacher for Dinah, her medical skill is so superb and brilliant that she has cured and saved many lives
of mothers and their babies. In Dinah s mind, Rachel [knows] everything about delivering babies, she
and Inna [try] to learn what they might from women wherever they [go]. (Anita, 2007, 234) Moreover,
Rachel teaches Dinah not only knowledge and technique about delivering babies but also female
values and philosophy about love, dedication and sacrifice. She is only one in the red tent who brings
Dinah out of the red tent and encourages her to purser the true love bravely; she has given Dinah many
spiritual supports and guidance. Furthermore, Rachel is a great teacher for Dinah and other women
who live in the red tent. According to Reading the Women of the Bible, in the biblical time, women
were undermined by the society in which they live in. They spent almost all their adult lives producing
and looking after children. Under this circumstance, education was limited and very few outdoor jobs
were available to all women, they had to stay inside the red tent for their whole lives. They were
expected to marry and look after family because men have normally held power. However, as the
midwife, Rachel seizes the opportunity to experience the world outsider the red tent , she can learn
something new and different from the outsider so that she could teach other women about what she
sees and hears. Rachel [becomes] their link to the larger world. (Anita, 2007, 79) She provides women

The Influence Of Chinese And Irish Laborers On The...
The Influence of Chinese and Irish Laborers on the Transcontinental Railroad
The Chinese and Irish laborers answered strongly when asked to help build the Transcontinental
Railroad that connected the Pacific and the Atlantic Coasts. During the long process the immigrant
workers encountered harsh weather and living and working conditions. Their work produced the Great
Iron Trail in an incredibly short time with minimal resources and equipment. Their struggles are often
overlooked and their overseers credited with the building of the railroad. The Chinese and Irish found
what entertainment they could, often challenging each other to lay more track in one day than the
other. Both found a hostile country in the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The Irish had come from a hostile Boston in search of a place in the job market. They found an
equality they had been unable to find in New England (Potter 670; Howard 225). Although they found
jobs, few were very successful. A majority still lived in shantytowns and poverty even in California.
The Civil War played a major role in who was hired and how the employees were chosen. The Civil
War began in 1861, two years before the groundbreaking to start the transcontinental railroad and one
year before the Great Railroad Act of 1862. The construction on the transcontinental railroad was
finished in 1869, four years after the end of the Civil War and six years after the groundbreaking
(Howard 126 143; website). The western and eastern railroad companies had always depended on
immigrant workers and with the start of the Civil War, this dependency was even greater (Johnson and
Supple 191). There was a shortage of white Americans willing to work because they had either
enlisted or been drafted into the war (Hogg 71; Howard 224). The Chinese were forced into a servant
s/slave s life. In some cases, white men imported Chinese laborers in crowded ships, much like the
African slaves, and hired at auctions (Hogg 72 73). The Chinese were also looking for a way out of
poverty and slavery and saw the transcontinental railroad as a means of escape. During the Civil War,
the wealthy were able to buy their way out of the draft, leaving the poor to fight. The Irish

John Keats Essay
Thomas Keats and Frances Jennings gave birth to the infamous John Keats on 31 October 1795 at his
grandfather s stable in London, United Kingdom.( Keats, John (1795 1821). ) In early adolescence,
Keat s father had encountered an accident while riding which led to his death when John was a measly
8 year old. As for John s mother, she deceased when he was 14 years old due to the tragic disease
tuberculosis.( Keats, John (1795 1821). ) John was succeeded by two younger brothers, George and
Tom and also a younger sister named Fanny. John and his brother s George and their younger brother
attended John Clarke s school at Enfield where John was embedded with guidance, encouragement
and a strong friendship from his teacher, Charles Cowden ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Critics believe John Keats poetry is often a remembrance of a desire to escape from his harsh and
unforgiving real world, into an imaginary world of unchanging perfection and ceaseless pleasure (
Kelvin Everest ). When I Have Fears That I May Have Ceased To Be has meaningful themes, beauty,
nature, love, death, erotic experience critic Kevin Everest discusses. According to Kevin Everest, Keats
uses this sonnet to string his thoughts about death, love, art, imagination, and using it all as the theme
in his poetry. , Another critic believes Keats wrote this poem about having fears of dying before
people could recognize his poetry work. Critic king discuss how When I Have Fears is a
Shakespearean sonnet consisting of three quatrains. Bruce King describes how there are alternating
new rhymes concluding a couplet throughout the poem, that include a rhyme scheme of (abab, cdcd,
efef) and the couplet (gg)( Bruce King ). The poem consists of a lot of vowel sound rhymes
throughout the poem critic Bruce King mentions. Critic Bruce King says, the vowel rhyme romance /
chance in the second quatrain has similarities to brain / grain in the first quatrain while the n sounds
are alike in the poem . Therefore, those are vowel rhymes ( Bruce King ). Critic King believes this is
one of the many ways in which Keats makes the poem more unified and the rhymes less obtrusive by
using the vowel sound rhymes

Observation Study
Situation
I went to a Starbucks store near DU twice to conduct the observations. First, I went there on March 26
and stayed there from 8:00am to 9:30am. Then I went there on the next day and stayed there from
10:00am to 11:00am. I mainly observed the physical layout of this store, the in store environment, the
price of the coffee, the reactions of the customers and the performance of the staff. As for the
performance of the staff, I observed their genders, ages, facial expressions, job content and work
efficiency and also counted the number of them.

Through the observation study, I want to know whether the physical layout of this Starbucks store is
reasonable, have a clear understanding of the in store ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Moreover, the average amount of time spent on finding a suitable table by customers was 5 10
seconds, which meant the customers could find the table they want to sit at after getting the coffee
immediately. Therefore, I think the environment of this store is comfortable and pleasant.
Additionally, I learned about the efficiency of this store. According to Table1 and Table 2, the
customers who came at off peak time would spend about one minute and forty seconds on the whole
buying process, and the customers who came at peak time and waited behind four people would spend
about four minutes. It is no doubt that customers do not need to spend much time on buying a cup of
coffee in this Starbucks store, which can be attributed to the high work efficiency of the staff there. In
addition, there are two ordering stations, which also help to improve the efficiency. Therefore, this
store is very efficient. Table 1: Amount of Time Spent by the Customers Coming at Off Peak Time

Golden State Warriors Research Papers
In the era of hot takes, comment sections and social media outbursts being used as methods to gain
attention, I can say from the bottom of my heart that none of those are the reasons I present my against
the grain opinion of the Golden State Warriors. If I m about to come off as a bitter Cleveland Cavaliers
fan (I am), then so be it. I m not so blinded by my love for Cleveland sports teams that I can t admit:
The Golden State Warriors are the best team in the NBA right now. That doesn t mean I can t hate
them unconditionally. Despite winning the NBA Finals in June, the Warriors have made it known their
primary motivation this season is derived from their doubters. Furthermore, Las Vegas pegged my
Cavaliers as the favorites to win this season s ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It became abundantly clear that I hated the Warriors more than Merril Hoge hates Johnny Manziel.
Because Steph Curry and Klay Thompson (not the entire Warriors team) are fun to watch, I think
Golden State is getting a hate pass. Is a hate pass a thing? A little more than a week ago, the
Milwaukee Bucks snapped Golden State s 28 game regular season win streak. As I basked in the tiny
moral victory, during a regular season in which the Cavs could finish .500 and I wouldn t care as long
as they were healthy, the Warriors whined like school children during a middle school recess touch
football game after the loss. The Warriors were upset with the Bucks celebration after Milwaukee
ended Golden State s record streak. Boohoo. The Warriors want to talk about winning with grace? Try
losing with grace. Regarding Curry, I ve never done a 180 degree turn on a player like I have with
Steph Curry. Davidson Steph Curry I loved that guy. He was an underdog and someone I could root
for. His play in two consecutive NCAA Tournaments was some of the most fun I ve had watching
sports. Today, Curry is too mainstream, being billed as a cultural phenomenon. His pregame routine
seems to receive more public attention than the games he plays

Narrative Essay On Driving
Driving at night can be dangerous, especially when you had a long exhausting day. Sometimes I find
myself in a rush and can t help myself but to speed. The night I got into my first accident was the night
I learned a really valuable lesson. Which is not to speed. It was 9:45pm, rainy night, on December 15,
It was getting close to the end of my 12 hour shift, at Romoland Market. It was a busy and long day.
Customers kept on coming in and out consistently. The lines was backed up all the way by the coolers.
No time to take a 15 minute break. Finally, closing time was around the corner, and I was eager to get
home to my bed. Excited to go home, I jumped into my 1996 Kia Sephia. I got to the 74 East
Highway, which was a two lane freeway. Everything was going well as usual. Cars were passing me
by at 60 miles per hour. Then, I felt something strange that was coming from the steering wheel. At
the time, I just thought it was normal for a beat up car to swerve. It felt like an alignment job was
needed really soon. Brakes were also poor. I had to stomp on the brakes all the way down in order for
the car to stop normally. So me being me, I ignored the issue and continued on my 45 minute drive
home, which was in Loma Linda. Traffic was slowing down, that s when my body started to feel
weak, and my eyelids was so heavy, I was trying my best to keep them opened, from how tired I was. I
was struggling to keep them up. Minutes went by, and I decided to speed up an extra 10 miles per

printed white, and night sky is colored black. One man is lying and another seems to be tripped.
Wooden posts are sticked everywhere, and some of those are broken. Title, Les barbelés, means
barbed wire. It helps us to know what is the tangled lines and how did they died; they might died
because barbed wire blocked their way. But the picture is focused on two men not barbed wire. Two

  • 2. China s Political And Social Structures China is the fastest emerging political power in the world, a power that in a short amount of time turned from a third rate industrial nation with lots of raw potential, to the second largest economy and one of the largest militaries in the world. But is China s political and social structures unique? Certainly, the Chinese system possesses certain aspects similar to what already exists in other modern nation states and their governments, however, it is how these pieces coelute together into a coherent political and economic machine that makes the model unique. Politically, the Chinese Communist Party is quite unique. Most authoritarian political parties are either dominated by party elites who only pass on power to loyalists, or merely a military regime. The CCP, however, is significantly technocratic, and much more inclusive. Many members of the CCP are not just military leaders or individuals with law degrees, they also include engineers and more recently business leaders. Furthermore, although there is a level of patronage in Chinese politics and society known as Guanxi, in fact as Mingxing Liu states in his paper about advancement in the CCP Central Committee the literature suggests that leaders were able to stay in power because they engaged in factional politics instead of selecting the most capable officials (Victor Shih 2012) However, that was during the pre Xi Jinping eras and quantifiable efforts have been made to combat corruption, especially in local ... As Maya scholar Arthur Demarest said Such a civilization, had no business there. The Mayans had to battle with torrential rain in the rainy season, and when the weather turned hot, it scorched the land and their water supplies would plummet. They were always faced with floods or drought. They were probably forced here due to overcrowding from other tribes. But nonetheless they began to conquer these threats as they learned advanced farming techniques to make the shallow earth fertile. They burned and cleared jungle to make room for their agriculture, particularly maize. They then began the process of crop rotation, long before anyone else. As the Mayan civilization began its steady uprising they began to redouble their efforts, they started composting, cultivating, they built irrigation systems and began to terrace the landscape to make farming more efficient and prevent erosion. They dammed rivers and flooded swamplands and marshes to create rich farmland. They instituted transport systems to move fertile silt and mud from lowlands to higher enclosed gardens and farms and created man made lakes and ponds that they used to fish and systems of corrals held wild game. They maximized their talents and squeezed out enough nourishment to support their population which had risen to several million people. It took time but the Mayans began to thrive in the ... The Benefits Of Water Fluoridation Water fluoridation was first implemented in the USA in 1945 and since then there are around 25 countries in the world that receive fluoridated water and around 10% of the UK population. Fluoridation schemes started when a significant association of fluoride and lower incidence of tooth decays was noticed, in naturally occurring fluoridated areas with 1mg/L of fluoride. Therefore, fluoride has been added where needed, in order to obtain the optimal concentration of around 1mg/L. This concentration is determined the optimal, as it is where the public gets the maximum prevention of dental caries with the minimum adverse effects. About 50% of ingested fluoride is excreted through urine within 24 hours (Peter Gluckman; David Skegg, 2014). Various factors may affect its bioavailability, for instance when it is ingested with food it delays its absorption. The solubility and the complex formulation may also reduce the extent of absorption. Unbounded free ions of fluoride are distributed via the circulation throughout the intracellular and extracellular body fluids with volume of distribution of 0.5 0.7 L/kg (WHO 2000). Plasma concentration is affected by the renal status and urinary pH, for example people with low glomerular filtration rate have increased plasma fluoride concentration, thus increased levels of fluoride in tissues and consequently are more susceptible to fluorosis (Peter Gluckman; David Skegg, 2014). Excretion may also occur through faeces and sweat. The remaining amount deposits and retains in bones and teeth, where it incorporates into the crystal network. Bone retention reflects long term exposure to fluoride and is affected by the factors such as age, sex and type of bone. Young children with growing bones have much higher retention of fluoride compared to adults. Fluoride may also be released back to the circulation when bones are remodeled, therefore plasma levels switch according to this exchange between bones and circulation. It is also released ... They found an equality they had been unable to find in New England (Potter 670; Howard 225). Although they found jobs, few were very successful. A majority still lived in shantytowns and poverty even in California. The Civil War played a major role in who was hired and how the employees were chosen. The Civil War began in 1861, two years before the groundbreaking to start the transcontinental railroad and one year before the Great Railroad Act of 1862. The construction on the transcontinental railroad was finished in 1869, four years after the end of the Civil War and six years after the groundbreaking (Howard 126 143; website). The western and eastern railroad companies had always depended on immigrant workers and with the start of the Civil War, this dependency was even greater (Johnson and Supple 191). There was a shortage of white Americans willing to work because they had either enlisted or been drafted into the war (Hogg 71; Howard 224). The Chinese were forced into a servant s/slave s life. In some cases, white men imported Chinese laborers in crowded ships, much like the African slaves, and hired at auctions (Hogg 72 73). The Chinese were also looking for a way out of poverty and slavery and saw the transcontinental railroad as a means of escape. The night I got into my first accident was the night I learned a really valuable lesson. Which is not to speed. It was 9:45pm, rainy night, on December 15, It was getting close to the end of my 12 hour shift, at Romoland Market. It was a busy and long day. Customers kept on coming in and out consistently. The lines was backed up all the way by the coolers. No time to take a 15 minute break. Finally, closing time was around the corner, and I was eager to get home to my bed. Excited to go home, I jumped into my 1996 Kia Sephia. I got to the 74 East Highway, which was a two lane freeway. Everything was going well as usual. Cars were passing me by at 60 miles per hour. Then, I felt something strange that was coming from the steering wheel. At the time, I just thought it was normal for a beat up car to swerve. It felt like an alignment job was needed really soon. Brakes were also poor. I had to stomp on the brakes all the way down in order for the car to stop normally. So me being me, I ignored the issue and continued on my 45 minute drive home, which was in Loma Linda. Traffic was slowing down, that s when my body started to feel weak, and my eyelids was so heavy, I was trying my best to keep them opened, from how tired I was. I was struggling to keep them up. Minutes went by, and I decided to speed up an extra 10 miles per ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
