Stressors Definition
Stressors have been an important aspect of our class journals each week through the semester. Which
leads to the question of where do these stressors come from and why? Stressors are a source of strain
that has both an objective and subjective view. Objectively, in a work setting it is based on how much
you put into the work and the number of hours you are completing. Whereas subjectively, involves
more of the perception of the work and how the work is being done. Strain is the response to these
stressors, which include behavioral, physical and psychological aspects. Behavioral strain has an
impact on a person s ability to perform in the work place and how their feelings have an impact on the
quality of the performance. A physical response is when something is concretely happening to you and
you can feel the strain and pressure from the outcome. The third response is almost a final point of
how a person feels which is psychological. They are burned out mentally and result in anxiety and ...

The separation I am referring to is the actions of my brothers wife. She has problems with my family
for reasons we are not entirely clear of. She herself has a young daughter and a son from my brother in
the beginning of their relationship and throughout the pregnancy everything was pleasant and
understanding we were all a family together. It was not until after my nephew was born her attitude
towards us changed. She does not want anything to do with is and this causes my brother to be in the
middle of his wife and his family. This has played a role on everyone me I particular because I work
with both my brother and his wife at the same company. It is awkward and strange seeing her
everyday knowing that my family and me are not allowed to see our nephew. While the situation was
playing out I continued to say hi to her but as time progressed and she was becoming more

William Penn Essay
William Penn
William Penn was born and raised in England, but he is well known for what he did in the Americas.
First and foremost, William Penn was a religious nonconformist and writer: he wrote numerous
religious books over his lifetime. Second, Penn is responsible for the holy experiment : the colony of
Pennsylvania. He was a Quaker advocate, and as a proprietor had the opportunity to practice the
Quaker Peace testimony.
Penn was interested in religion from the time he was a child. When he was twelve years old he had the
opportunity to hear testimony from a traveling Quaker minister, Thomas Loe. Penn was touched by
Loe s message, and sought the authentic Christian message rather then focusing on institutional
religion. At the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
He wanted to get the word out about his religion and he wasn t going to be discouraged. After William
was released, he wrote Innocency with Her Open Face, and wrote a number of other works on his
Quaker faith.
In 1681, Penn and 11 other Quakers brought the Proprietary rights to east New Jersey. King Charles II
owed Penn s father, Admiral Sir William Penn, and in return Penn persuaded the king to grant him a
vast province on the west bank of the Delaware River (Samuel, 2000). It was named Pennsylvania,
which means Penn s woods, after his father. Penn decided that his colony was going to be different
from the rest of the colonies in that they were going to be a Quaker based colony. He believed in a
divine right of government and formed the government of Pennsylvania as a holy experiment in
governing. This type of government is considered being ahead of its time as it set forth a
representative form of government. The penal system was designed to reform not just punish, and all
prisoners except capital prisoners were entitled to bail, work houses were substituted for dungeons and
the death penalty was limited to murder and treason . Also, Penn instituted public education and
designed Philadelphia and other towns to promote health and fire safety. Being that Penn was in
charge of the colony, he was given the opportunity to practice the Quaker Peace Testimony. He
realized that a lot of the land that he was living on

Direct state intervention was the next thing that happened because of the colonial enterprise. The
Dutch sellers and fisherman helped add to the exploration that happened in the sixteenth and

Why did the English have such difficulties establishing colonies in the Chesapeake?
During the sixteenth century and the start of the seventeenth, the European nations quickly conquered
the newly discovered Americas. England sent out groups to the coast of North America to the
Chesapeake and the New England area. Later on in the 1700 s the two places would began to mold
into one, even though they were very different at the start.
Chesapeake region colonies included Virginia, Maryland and New Jersey, and Pennsylvania. And in
1607, Jamestown became the first English colony in the New World. The settlers hoped to find riches
such as gold, silver and a cure for syphilis, and anything they thought they could bring back and sell
for more money or profit.
Why were the English colonies in New England so different from those in the

ABSTRACT
Hypermedia systems and hypertext have given a universal access to a big number of documents over
the Internet, and the World Wide Web was the most successful and popular one to link the biggest
amount of hypertext documents from all over the world, despite the existence of other sophisticated
hypermedia systems in time. These systems specialized with richer navigation experience, and were
competing with the W3. This report will be focusing on the aspects that enhanced and empowered the
success and achievements of the World ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
They are systems that are accessed from heterogeneous architectures like different operating systems
[6]. One of the main aspects in open hypermedia system is that they have Link bases and Link
services, but links and anchors are separated from the documents which allows an easier filtration and
modifications for documents and files, since they have first class links as opposed to the World Wide
Web which uses embedded links [6,8,9]. In Microcosm for example, you need to ask the system to see
what links might be available from a specific document while W3 just shows all the links [6].
Microcosm architecture was similar to Dexter s, it has a document management system that takes care
of the structures within nodes, it has the presentation layer that is responsible for displaying the
information and it has the link services which gives the links that are accessible from a document [6].
Parsing documents in Microcosm was done through decomposed filters which resulted in a
complicated architecture regarding other systems that uses the client/server one, but it allowed a very
rich model of linking especially with the generic link [6]. In addition, it allowed a flexible document
processing since it has multiple link bases and had an integration with third party applications [6].
Microcosm was designed as a desktop based system for

Horace Adversity Analysis
A person going through tough times brings out good traits in his/herself. In those times adversity finds
its way to unleash good talents during easy times for people can understand who they really are in
situations/desperate measures. In light of Horace s quotation, this assists civilians undergoing financial
adversity. At a young age, my mother was facing a plea of guilt ridden crisis of economy aid. The
result of course was traveling to another state and start college there for a better future. A few years
later, she became an upstanding woman of society who can pay her own bills, also very
independent(sometimes). The fact remains is greatness of talent comes in due time, and its outcome
can bring prosperous circumstance into affect.

Analysis Of The Book Son Of God
As a Sunday Bible School and Vacation Bible School teacher in my church, I have watched many
short episodes of the Bible stories in cartoon style. Then, for this assignments I decided to use a
couple movies that I have watched in the past: The Bible as a television miniseries Spanish version,
and the movie Son of God. I identified the following characters for their participation in the movies.
1. ADAM Sendhil Ramamurthy
Sendhil Ramamurthy was born in Chicago, Illinois, in May 17, 1974. He is an American actor. He is
best known for his roles as geneticist Mohinder Suresh in the NBC sci fi drama Heroes and Jai Wilcox
in the action spy series Covert Affairs. He appeared as Abhay in the Indian film Shor in the City. He
played Gabriel Lowen in The CW sci fi romance series Beauty the Beast. He went to Keystone School
and graduated in 1991. Ramamurthy is married to actress Olga Sosnovska with two children, daughter
Halina and son Alex, and lives in London.
He played the role of Adam in the Mini Series In the Beginning (2000)
2. NOAH David Rintoul
David Rintoul is a Scottish stage and television actor, who was born in Aberdeen, Scotland on
November 29, 1948. He studied at Edinburgh University and won a scholarship to study at the Royal
Academy of Dramatic Art in London. He plays the role of David in the television miniseries The

Through an ad campaign, Smokey Bear became the face of forest fire prevention and raised awareness
for the issue in the United States. Smokey says Care will prevent 9 out of 10 forest fires . Smokey was
created to help stop human caused wildfires. There were many effects of smokey bear. The most
important one was the number of wildfires drop drastically when Smokey Bear was introduced.
Through an ad campaign, Smokey Bear became the face of forest fire prevention and raised awareness
for the issue in the United States. Smokey Bear is America s wildlife prevention icon. Before Smokey
was introduced people didn t understand their role in preventing human caused wildfires? Many
people were careless when throwing lit matches in the forests ( American Icon ). Many people would
also leave their campfires lit in the forest and that would soon spread to cause a wildfire ( American

both ads people started understanding their role in preventing wildfires ( American Icon ). Bambi was

strongly believe that as you write more and more about a character, that they begin to reveal more and
more about themselves, from the standpoint that two unintentionally related traits may organically
foster another by extension of themselves, in this way the characters are revealing parts of themselves
to the author before the author reveals them to the reader.

Johnson says, People need to be good to each other and the animals we share this planet with, devote
your energy to things that bring you joy, skip the newspaper and have a treat that takes you back to

With Johnson s life experiences and style of writing, it s no wonder that a good story with a criss cross

English Class Reflection
I can say with a high degree of confidence that AP Upper Mid English has been unlike any other
English course that I have taken during my academic career. Put plainly, the material and in class
instruction of the class is revelatory in every sense of the term, and, overall, the organization and
matter of the course was exceptional. In terms of the organization of the course as a whole, I believe
that the English Department was able to successfully distill all of the dominant aspects of learning that
an English class epitomizes into the relatively short period of time that school is in session. In my
experience, I have found the class to be organized and structured competently. The schedule,
curriculum, and writing assignments were easy to understand and I felt as though I exited the
classroom every class feeling as if I accomplished what I had to for that day and I had a definite grip
on what to expect for the next class. That being said, I think it is also imperative for me to mention
that the course was not overly constricting or overly structured either the schedule had enough
malleability to accommodate for impromptu activities. For instance, when Bob Levy, an acclaimed
journalist for the Washington Post, visited Taft, our class used our period to have a invigorating
conversation with him about the future of Internet Privacy, a conversation that I think was instructive
and, in all likelihood, prepared me for the AP Exam just as much as the traditional class that we

Dogville Mise En Scene Analysis
Mise en scène and multiple interpretations in relation to a film Dogville by Lars von Trier
In my essay, I am going to consider the possible interpretations of the Mise en scene details in relation
to a film Dogville (2003) by Lars von Trier. I will be exploring how the same details can be
interpreted in different ways, depending on the viewer s background, attitude, perspective, and so on.
Dogville is the city drawn in chalk; the city with a 3 hour psychedelia; the city that reflects the
ugliness of human nature.
The surface is often deceptive. The whole town is a convention. The furniture could be pink, there
could be cacti in the Elm Street, and the town could be located not in the mountains but on a sunny
beach. Von Trier has never treated the scenery with respect. He needs it just as an addition to
something more important. This approach is perfectly ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
And in the final scene, when the moon rises over the city, Grace accepts the rules of the game The
moon has always been a symbol of deception, illusion, melancholy wrong light, which is only a pale
reflection of the hot sun.
However, once you begin to interpret the meaning of Dogville, you will get into the realm of
uncertainty. Von Trier has made everything to make the viewers feel different while watching his
movie with its artificial decorations, British accent of the voiceover and formalism in acting and
dialogues.
On the one hand, Dogville is nothing but an attempt to show a realistic American image. Presenting
Dogville in Cannes, von Trier said, this is America, but seen from my point of view and that it is not a
historical or scientific, but emotional movie. Here are the most important words of the director: In my
American films, I reflect the information that comes to me, and my feelings about it. Of course, this is
not the whole truth, as I have not been there. I am an American, so I make films about

Essay On Asian American Stereotypes
Asian Stereotypes are everywhere in our society. Racial stereotypes often arise from fear of the
unknown. In the history of the different forms stereotypes often result from prejudice. It helps to
explain why people tend to think that Asians do not drive well. But the statistics do not show this
conclusion, also why blacks are more likely to be arrested or shot by the police. Specific racial
stereotypes tend to have cultural background, while other racial stereotypes are simply due to the
oversimplification of complex information.
Stereotypes of Asians in particular have been around for a long of time. In the late 19th century, many
Asians went to the United States to pursue their dream because they want to improve their family
quality of life. And they work so hard to make money so Americans were afraid that the Asian laborers
would invade the country and let them loose the job opportunity. So the term Chinky Chink was used
to explain the American afraid that a huge number of Asians will live in America and become

Three Taxonomic GroupsGas Exchange, Insects, Fish, And...
gas exchange is the movement of oxygen and carbon dioxide gases across the membrane by diffusion.
These can be found within the three taxonomic groups insects, fish and mammals. Each of these
taxonomic groups all have different gas exchanges and adaptations to enable them to continue their
way of life. In this report, I will discuss the three taxonomic groups gas exchanges, and adaptations to
carry this out.
insects
The first taxonomic group is an insect. internal gas exchange systems connect individual cells, and
tissues with the air outside, due to a system of branching tubes named trachea. insects contain air
tubes, named trachea and tracheoles throughout their body. These tubes are held in shape by rings of
chitin. Insects don t have a circulatory system as such, so the tracheoles are to reach each individual
cell in the body, as they re relying on diffusion to take place to take in oxygen. At each end of the
tracheole, a small amount of liquid is placed, allowing gasses to dissolve, and then diffuse into each of
the cells. The tracheal system is efficient in maintaining a high metabolic rate. The places in which the
tubes leave the body, are called spiracles. Spiracles have the ability to open and close, to control the
water loss. When in need of lots of oxygen, or if the environment is moist, the spiracles begin to open.
When they close or are slightly open, they re not in need of oxygen, or the environment is dry. Insects
also ventilate their gas exchange

The Problem Of The Classroom Authority
Attention colleague: I have surveyed some of my students about the quality of your class, per your
request. The overwhelming response I received related specifically to how you deliver instructions in
the class. Many students reflected that when ask questions such as Is that where that book goes? ,
What did you forget to put on your paper? , and Would you like to sit down? you lose your credibility
as the classroom authority. I am writing concerning this issue because of my desire to share with you
information I have recently learned in relation to the differences in characteristics of authority between
white, working class communities and black, poverty stricken communities. I will also explain the
linguistic concept code switching, which is the ability to read the context of an environment and
actively choose the language style that fits the environment, as mentioned in Wheeler (2008), and how
this will lend a hand to you having more of an authoritative presence in the classroom.
In the classroom, educators are the ones wielding the power and I believe you already understand this,
which plays out in how educators speak to their students. From all the information my students have
given me, I believe you are talking to them the same way your middle working class parents spoke to
you and I believe that you understand that when you ask students to perform a task, you are implicitly
telling them to complete the task. Delpit (1998) says that working class white parents

Tourism in Egypt
Egypt is known to be the number one tourist destination in the Middle East and North Africa. It has

their ages and occupations to make themselves seem more fit than they really are. After the account

because I would not want to be beaten or killed myself. Finally the prisoners including Elie and his
father are escorted to the camp of Buna. Shortly after arriving prisoners are given a medical exam and

Why Is Coming To Age Important
Coming of age has many wonderful and poor traits of every man and womans life. Coming of age can
we be excellent for some people and horrific for others, it all depends on the person. Some people face
many consequences while others get more superior results while growing up. You have to learn to
change from a petty irresponsible child to answerable adult. For example, responsibility.
Responsibility is a massive part of coming of age. To come to age there is many hard responsibilities
that you have to get through especially if you want more privileges. A big responsibility of coming to
age is work. No matter if you re working with your dad to buy a new car or working in an office to
pay rent, it s all a huge responsibility. Work is life. Without work you will get nowhere in life, that is
why it s such a big responsibility not even just coming of age but in general. Another huge
responsibility of coming of age is driving safely. A perk of coming to age is that you can get the
opportunity to drive. But, it s also a colossal responsibility. If you mess up, the punishment could be as
worse as death, or even death to other people. Driving is a big deal, a huge responsibility but also a
huge reward. Even if you succeed on your drivers ed and get your ... Show more content on

There are many consequences of coming to age, if you re driving and not paying any attention, BAM
there goes your car and maybe even your or somebody else s life. Another humongous consequence of
coming to age is losing money. When you come to age and you re working, paying rent and buying
groceries it can be devastating if you lose money. Unfortunately there s lots of ways to lose money.
For example, you re working your butt off for seven days straight to buy the new iphone eight. Then
two weeks later you re out at a party and you drop it and it breaks. Just like that 900$ down the drain.
Losing money is a serious issue especially when you are coming of

Coraline Symbolism
A dream turned into a nightmare. This happens to Coraline, the main protagonist in the novel Coraline
by Neil Gaiman. In the novel, a young girl named Coraline moves into a large house divides into
apartments. She lives with her parents who both work, leaving Coraline to feel ignored. One day she
accesses a portal to a mirror like house where her other parents live. At first her other parents seem
like a dream, offering her whatever she wants and giving her constant attention. Coraline soon learns
that the other world is not all that it seems and that she must escape in order to save herself and her
parents. Unlike most children books, Coraline is a creepy postmodern fairy tale that uses elements of
the uncanny to evoke fear in the reader. Freud s concept of the uncanny is helpful in explaining the
text s appeal, and it s creepy uneasiness. Coraline focuses on people s fears about existence and
identity as individual beings. Coraline must battle against her other mother to be independent from her
and thus develop her own identity and desires. While the novel appears to be a mild horror story,
Henry Selicks stop action photography adaptation of the novel has a different tone and uses concepts
of the uncanny is more subtle ways. By using added characters, deleted scenes, and less grotesque
imagery Henry Selick is able a children s adventure story while Neil Gaiman s novel focused on
concepts of the uncanny and the fear of losing one s identity. The film begins with an evocative
opening scene in which a pair of skeletal, robotic hands stich a doll identical to Coraline and then
sends it floating out of a window. For most viewers the doll is viewed as a spy for the other mother. It
is a portal between the two worlds that allows the other mother to cross between both. It is used to
heighten the picture s anti realistic, otherworldly mood (time). The scene was not in the novel and was
instead added to make references to the uncanny that is used more in the novel. The doll being made is
uncanny. The stitching of the doll is unsettling because it is non human hands acting in a human way.
The doll acts as a doppelganger, an inanimate thing that appears to move but yet is controlled by the
other mother,

parts.
The Chow and dynasty had the same system of presidency. each selected their ruler relying upon the

This resulted within the mingling of the Chinese and Indian individuals and therefore the integration
of their arts. Chinese artists that reborn to Buddhism then began to draw photos and sculpt pictures of
Buddha and his teachings. On the opposite hand, the Zhou had not been influenced by any major faith.
Instead, most art was primarily based off of the previous kinfolk, the Shang. They used bronze to form
sculptures and Jade to form ornaments to embellish their palaces and shrines. The Chow palaces were
primarily product of massive wood beams. Han design was conjointly similar, they featured temples
that closely resembled Indian stupas dedicated to Buddha. However, Buddhism isn t the sole belief
that powerfully affected civilizations.
At first, the Chow dynasty s scheme thought about emperors to be specially others, then came flush
landowners/merchants, farmers, and so slaves. However, once philosophical theory came into fashion,
the merchants and farmers switched places. Farmers were seen as higher than merchants as a result of

Telemachus As A Hero
A hero can be defined in many different ways, such as a man or woman who performs tasks otherwise
not able to be performed by a normal human being. Telemachus is a different breed of hero compared
to our modern day Superman and Batman. Telemachus, the son of a king, is often seen by the public.
Being the son of a king has its benefits and its downfalls, he must be a person that the public can look
to for solutions while his father is gone, but he also has power that others do not have. He exhibits the
characteristics of becoming a great hero and leader by using his power for good and not abusing it.
Telemachus goes upon a hero s journey and learns how to become a great leader by taking initiative
and setting off on a journey to find his ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It is a new experience, something that is most definitely nerve wracking and taxing. This will be his
first time on his own and to make it worse he is by himself on a boat. He has never been away from
home before, let alone sailed on the open seas. Another obstacle that he has to overcome during this
separation stage of his journey is being separated from his mother. He has never been without his
mother for an extended period of time, and he will be leaving her alone with suitors that have been
asking for her hand in marriage. These suitors show no evidence throughout the book that they treat
Penelope with any sort of respect. They also don t respect that Penelope still loves Odysseus.
Telemachus has the right to be concerned about leaving his mother behind with these scoundrels.
The last part of Telemachus s initiation is when he steps foot on the ship and sets sail. This is a huge
leap into manhood because he is taking the initiative to find his dad. Once he has gotten on the ship,
he is in charge of the ship. It is similar to being in charge of a small kingdom on the sea. There are
only twenty men that make up the crew, but that is twenty people s lives that are in his hands. Lastly,
the most important part of the initiation is setting sail from his homeland. From that point forward
there would be no turning back. He was then officially on his own.
When Athena came and told Telemachus that he should search for his father, she

The USAF and Future Leaders
The USAF invests a lot of time and money in developing future leaders. In fact it established four
schools geared toward developing its enlisted force at different levels of leadership. Those schools are
the Airmen Leadership School (ALS), Non commissioned Officer Academy (NCOA), and Senior Non
Commissioned Academy (SNCO), and the Chief School. All four schools focus on developing the
leadership and management skills needed to supervise, manage, and lead people at each level of
responsibility. The military as a whole has long history of leadership training and development
(Gibson, 2005). The accomplishment of the mission is paramount for any military organization.
Leadership is the determining factor in obtaining that goal. USAF defines leadership as the impact of
personal influence and persuasion upon followers to direct the accomplishment of objectives.
Leadership is not restricted to senior management and leadership, but is expected throughout all ranks.
Gibson (2005, p2) states effective leadership is imperative to the achievement of military missions and
the perception of the appropriate individuals, regardless of tenor, as leaders is paramount to this
effectiveness. The way leaders interact and manage people has a direct bearing on employees job
performance and satisfaction. Too often in the USAF many leaders employ an authoritative leadership
style at the expense of people. Others fail to engage their followers at all. The assumption in the
USAF is that

Traits And Values In My Personal Leadership Model
Personal leadership model
Great leaders are able to identify their leadership style, and through continuous assessment of their
own abilities as leaders, they are able to develop and understand their own abilities and strengths.
When someone is able to understand his or her strengths and limitations, then they are able to develop
and grow themselves into effective leaders. This also helps them to challenge themselves to find new
skills to improve themselves through practice. After an assessment of my own abilities and strengths,
my personal theory states that a leader should be a transformational person, acting on a set of both
ethical and moral values. He or she should be able to be an inspiration, and empower others to achieve
their goals. Various traits and skills are the guiding values, which inform my personal theory. This
paper will discuss into details leadership traits, skills and values in my personal model.
Traits and behaviors
Integrity, intelligence and sociability are the top most traits of my leadership model. My intelligence is
quite superb because I have good reasoning skills, and the capability to come up with well articulated
ideas, which I am able to implement and communicate to others. In addition, I have the ability to
understand and tackle even complex issues pertaining the organization that I am leading. On the other
hand, I am a person of integrity. I don t involve myself in corrupt and immoral practices. Good leaders
are honest, they can be trusted

The Effect Of Parent Child Relationships On Human Development
Carr and Cortina provide a powerful explanation of Self Psychology, Heinz Kohut and John Bowlby,
working independently, contributed to a paradigm shift within psychoanalysis. Their combined work
dramatically changed the way many psychoanalysts understand the effect of parent child relationships
on human development, as well as the very nature of psychopathology. This, in turn, transformed
clinical practice as their ideas spread and many analysts became more emotionally responsive,
creating a friendlier, more respectful therapeutic ambiance. (Carr Cortina, 2011, pg.42) Kohut was
able to notice patients who were not doing well with the classic Freudian theories and he began to
listen to those same patients who were suffering from low self esteem, lack of motivation and many
difficulties on social and sexual spheres. The presented patient s self concept includes the above
descriptions of what Kohut points out as well as, feelings of worthlessness, inadequacy, and
helplessness which pervades functioning in negative ways (Hepworth, Larsen, Rooney, Strom
Gottfried, 2011, p. 209). And some of that damaging thinking has led the patient to continue to self
harm and abuse substances because she feels that this is what she deserves and that it is too late to
start her outlook on over. The Guilty Man was also viewed very differently between Frued and Kohut.
Frued viewed it as, a person who was trying to negotiate id, ego and superego and how people felt
guilty about id

Film Analysis Of Elmer Rice s The Adding Machine
Elmer Rice s production, The Adding Machine, portrays the story of Mr. Zero, an accountant, who has
recently been fired from his position as a bookkeeper after nearly twenty five years of consecutive
work. His removal is marked by the introduction of an adding machine that has the appropriate means
to accomplish the necessary tasks without human interference. As a result of being replaced, an angry
Mr. Zero murders his boss, Mr. Smith, and thus begins the execution process in which Mr. Zero is
transported to a heaven like state where he meets Shrdlu and is then reincarnated to begin a new life.
This production is an authentic example of expressionism as exemplified by the process of a spiritual

Thus, the women were clad in button down blouses tucked into pencil skirts and the men were clothed
in button up shirts and dress pants. This overall minimalistic aesthetic was evident in every aspect of
the performance and emphasized the idea of uniformity and conformity that was present in American
society during this time period. The cast was composed of fifteen actors, in which some of the actors
performed multiple characters such as Ayla Sullivan who portrayed Daisy and Mrs. Seven or Brendan
Lynch who took on the role of Shrdlu and Mr. Four. Each performer delivered dialogue with an
intense conviction and sharpness. This intensity was only magnified when the ensemble delivered
their lines together loudly and articulately. The choreography was also synchronized and intricately
placed to symbolize how a machine functions and reinforce this idea of a mechanized, industrial
society that has robbed each worker of their humanity, more explicitly their individualistic
personalities. Although there were several characters present, the absence of individualism was further
depicted through the sequenced names of Zero, One, Two Three, Four, Five, Six in ascending order,
the homogenous clothing, and the expressionless, serious countenance each character possessed.
Personally, I thought this play was difficult to follow as the storytelling seemed

Neonatal Nurse Admission Essay
My passion in working in the medical field is one of the most amazing experience I will remember
because since I was young, I always told my parents I would become a doctor one day. I never thought
that there were a bunch of specialties in the medical field such as anesthesiology, Obstetrics and
Gynecology (OB/GYN), Radiology, Dermatology, Emergency Medicine, Internal Medicine,
Oncology, Urology, and so much more. As I got older, I became knowledgeable of what career would
fascinate me and keep it for the long term. Ultimately, I found two career choices that I like which is
neonatal nurse and OB/GYN because it deals with newborns and their health. My best interest are

Essay on Primo Levi- Pain Retold, Is Pain Redoubled
quot;Pain retold, is pain redoubled quot;
What prompts someone to write about their suffering, and how do they convey a sense of their
emotions to the reader?
Primo Levi is a Holocaust war victim, a survivor from Auschwitz, who for years was plagued by guilt
because he survived a feeling that is passed on in Jewish tradition, which I understand being a fellow
Jew. Jewish heritage is very important to all Jews; myself included, which is one reason why I can
connect with the poet/author, his poems and his other works. Levi decided to write, rather than keep
in, his feelings, and subsequently wrote both poetry, and a variety of prose, both fiction and
autobiographical.
The emotions in two of his poems, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Levi places a lot of emphasis on his titles and opening lines. The title Shema is the name of the most
important Jewish prayer. This prayer teaches us to remember always that we are followers of Gd and
that we should not forget it. Literally, Shema means Hear, or Listen it is a word that all throughout my
history has inspired and healed. Levi uses it convey the importance of his story. It is a powerful word
that carries with it much importance and history. There are several other references to certain aspects
in the Jewish faith, quot;...When you are in your house...when you go to bed and when you arise quot;
which reinforce the Jewish ideal that the story should be retold and never lost.
The Survivor refers to the deeds that one must do to survive. quot;Sometimes...the things you do to
survive are worse than the survival itself quot; (Se Questo ? Un Uomo). In the first few lines Levi
refers to The Ancient Mariner, a poem where the sailor is doomed to wander the world with the weight
of his crimes around his neck. Levi sees this as a personification of himself that he will forever walk
the world knowing that he is alive, and the others not. This reference holds so much importance the
guilt of a previous person transposed into his native language portrays the outpouring of guilt that he
feels, coupled with loneliness and the eternal weariness.
Another of Levi s books, The Periodic Table

Nick Kirkpatrick. The water has become such a great concern that California is now starting to put
water restrictions for residents that live in california. Such as only being able to water 2 times a week,
will be charge if seen wasting water such as car washes, broken sprinkler, etc. Although there is really

How Does The 2008 Games Affect The Economy
Economic Impact To see the impact of the 2008 Games on the Chinese economy, we must first look at
how much money was spent and what it was spent on. While $40 billion is the average number given
when saying how much the 2008 Games cost, only a little more than $6 billion went to sports related
costs, (Gaines, 2015) including $500 million going to building the Bird s Nest, the Olympic track and
field venue. The rest went to a new airport terminal, a light rail, roads and other preparations such as
security and the environmental clean up ( The cost of the Beijing Olympics ). Almost every city that

Research Paper On Nuclear Fission
What is nuclear fission? How does it work? What does it have to do with
nuclear power plants? These are a few of the many questions asked if one hasn t ever studied nuclear
power or doesn t know how a power plant works. Nuclear fission is the splitting of atoms, which in
nuclear fission is uranium atoms. A neutron is released at a targeted nucleus of uranium 235. Two or
three neutrons are released from the target nucleus along with fission products, or other nuclei, as seen
in the picture below. This process starts a chain reaction. If too many neutrons are present, the reaction
may get out of control. If too few are present, the reaction may stop.
Nuclear Fission
Nuclear fission is almost the same thing as fission, but nuclear fission has one minor difference; its
purpose is to produce energy. Fission is the main chemistry behind nuclear reactors and the power
plant as a whole. Radiation is another addition to the chemistry involved in the production of nuclear
power. The unstable atoms in the fission process give off radiation. This produces a risk in ... Show

It turns out, they re really just the opposite! The water that is used to condense the steam back into
water inside the condenser has consequently been heated in the process of cooling. Environmental
laws regulate the temperature that a Power Plant can place back into the river. The primary reason is
due to plant life. The cooling water from the condenser is sprayed into the air inside the cooling tower
and falls about 60 feet, which cools it before it is continuously recycled to condense more steam.
Water in the vapor rising from the cooling tower is replenished to the condenser cooling system using
water from the Tennessee River. The three water systems at Sequoyah are separate from each other,
and the radioactive water is not permitted to mix with other nonradioactive water

Examining The Role Of Women In Chaucer s Canterbury Tales
The Wife of Bath s Tale (Middle English: the Tale of the Wyf of Bathe) is among the most understood
of Geoffrey Chaucer s Canterbury Tales. It contribute insight into the role of females in the Late
Middle Ages and was probably of interest to Chaucer himself, for the character is one of his most
developed ones, with her Prologue twice as long as her Tale. He also goes so far as to describe two
sets of clothing for her in his General Prologue. She holds her own among the bickering pilgrims, and
evidence in the manuscripts suggests that although she was first assigned a different, plainer tale
perhaps the one told by the Shipman she received her present tale as her significance increased. When
the Knight is captured, he is condemned to death, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
There have been sons of noble fathers, she argues, who were shameful and villainous, though they
shared the same blood. She does not take offense at the insult, but calmly asks him whether real
gentillesse, or noble character, can be hereditary. Her family may be poor, but real poverty lies in
covetousness, and real riches lie in having little and wanting nothing. Finally, he replies that he would
rather trust her judgment, and he asks her to choose whatever she thinks best. She offers the knight a
choice: either he can have her be ugly but loyal and good, or he can have her young and fair but also
coquettish and unfaithful. The knight ponders in silence. The two have a long, happy marriage, and the
woman becomes completely obedient to her husband. Because the knight s answer gave the woman
what she most desired, the authority to choose for herself, she becomes both beautiful and good. The
Wife of Bath concludes with a plea that Jesus Christ send all women husbands who are young, meek,
and fresh in bed, and the grace to outlive their husbands. Perhaps John is simple sely or naive, rather
than jealous. He says he loves her more than his life, so maybe John is just blinded to her betrayal
because he loves his wife so much. That might be a better moral to the story. He still cares about the
earthly world (his wife)

  • 2. Stressors Definition Stressors have been an important aspect of our class journals each week through the semester. Which leads to the question of where do these stressors come from and why? Stressors are a source of strain that has both an objective and subjective view. Objectively, in a work setting it is based on how much you put into the work and the number of hours you are completing. Whereas subjectively, involves more of the perception of the work and how the work is being done. Strain is the response to these stressors, which include behavioral, physical and psychological aspects. Behavioral strain has an impact on a person s ability to perform in the work place and how their feelings have an impact on the quality of the performance. A physical response is when something is concretely happening to you and you can feel the strain and pressure from the outcome. The third response is almost a final point of how a person feels which is psychological. They are burned out mentally and result in anxiety and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... • 3. William Penn Essay William Penn William Penn was born and raised in England, but he is well known for what he did in the Americas. First and foremost, William Penn was a religious nonconformist and writer: he wrote numerous religious books over his lifetime. Second, Penn is responsible for the holy experiment : the colony of Pennsylvania. He was a Quaker advocate, and as a proprietor had the opportunity to practice the Quaker Peace testimony. Penn was interested in religion from the time he was a child. When he was twelve years old he had the opportunity to hear testimony from a traveling Quaker minister, Thomas Loe. Penn was touched by Loe s message, and sought the authentic Christian message rather then focusing on institutional religion. At the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... He wanted to get the word out about his religion and he wasn t going to be discouraged. After William was released, he wrote Innocency with Her Open Face, and wrote a number of other works on his Quaker faith. In 1681, Penn and 11 other Quakers brought the Proprietary rights to east New Jersey. King Charles II owed Penn s father, Admiral Sir William Penn, and in return Penn persuaded the king to grant him a vast province on the west bank of the Delaware River (Samuel, 2000). It was named Pennsylvania, which means Penn s woods, after his father. Penn decided that his colony was going to be different from the rest of the colonies in that they were going to be a Quaker based colony. He believed in a divine right of government and formed the government of Pennsylvania as a holy experiment in governing. This type of government is considered being ahead of its time as it set forth a representative form of government. The penal system was designed to reform not just punish, and all prisoners except capital prisoners were entitled to bail, work houses were substituted for dungeons and the death penalty was limited to murder and treason . Also, Penn instituted public education and designed Philadelphia and other towns to promote health and fire safety. Being that Penn was in charge of the colony, he was given the opportunity to practice the Quaker Peace Testimony. He realized that a lot of the land that he was living on ... England sent out groups to the coast of North America to the Chesapeake and the New England area. Later on in the 1700 s the two places would began to mold into one, even though they were very different at the start. Chesapeake region colonies included Virginia, Maryland and New Jersey, and Pennsylvania. And in 1607, Jamestown became the first English colony in the New World. They are systems that are accessed from heterogeneous architectures like different operating systems [6]. One of the main aspects in open hypermedia system is that they have Link bases and Link services, but links and anchors are separated from the documents which allows an easier filtration and modifications for documents and files, since they have first class links as opposed to the World Wide Web which uses embedded links [6,8,9]. In Microcosm for example, you need to ask the system to see what links might be available from a specific document while W3 just shows all the links [6]. Microcosm architecture was similar to Dexter s, it has a document management system that takes care of the structures within nodes, it has the presentation layer that is responsible for displaying the information and it has the link services which gives the links that are accessible from a document [6]. Parsing documents in Microcosm was done through decomposed filters which resulted in a complicated architecture regarding other systems that uses the client/server one, but it allowed a very rich model of linking especially with the generic link [6]. In addition, it allowed a flexible document processing since it has multiple link bases and had an integration with third party applications [6]. I strongly believe that as you write more and more about a character, that they begin to reveal more and more about themselves, from the standpoint that two unintentionally related traits may organically foster another by extension of themselves, in this way the characters are revealing parts of themselves to the author before the author reveals them to the reader. • 11. English Class Reflection I can say with a high degree of confidence that AP Upper Mid English has been unlike any other English course that I have taken during my academic career. Put plainly, the material and in class instruction of the class is revelatory in every sense of the term, and, overall, the organization and matter of the course was exceptional. In terms of the organization of the course as a whole, I believe that the English Department was able to successfully distill all of the dominant aspects of learning that an English class epitomizes into the relatively short period of time that school is in session. In my experience, I have found the class to be organized and structured competently. The schedule, curriculum, and writing assignments were easy to understand and I felt as though I exited the classroom every class feeling as if I accomplished what I had to for that day and I had a definite grip on what to expect for the next class. That being said, I think it is also imperative for me to mention that the course was not overly constricting or overly structured either the schedule had enough malleability to accommodate for impromptu activities. For instance, when Bob Levy, an acclaimed journalist for the Washington Post, visited Taft, our class used our period to have a invigorating conversation with him about the future of Internet Privacy, a conversation that I think was instructive and, in all likelihood, prepared me for the AP Exam just as much as the traditional class that we ... • 12. Dogville Mise En Scene Analysis Mise en scène and multiple interpretations in relation to a film Dogville by Lars von Trier In my essay, I am going to consider the possible interpretations of the Mise en scene details in relation to a film Dogville (2003) by Lars von Trier. I will be exploring how the same details can be interpreted in different ways, depending on the viewer s background, attitude, perspective, and so on. Dogville is the city drawn in chalk; the city with a 3 hour psychedelia; the city that reflects the ugliness of human nature. The surface is often deceptive. The whole town is a convention. The furniture could be pink, there could be cacti in the Elm Street, and the town could be located not in the mountains but on a sunny beach. Von Trier has never treated the scenery with respect. He needs it just as an addition to something more important. This approach is perfectly ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... And in the final scene, when the moon rises over the city, Grace accepts the rules of the game The moon has always been a symbol of deception, illusion, melancholy wrong light, which is only a pale reflection of the hot sun. Von Trier has made everything to make the viewers feel different while watching his movie with its artificial decorations, British accent of the voiceover and formalism in acting and dialogues. On the one hand, Dogville is nothing but an attempt to show a realistic American image. Presenting Dogville in Cannes, von Trier said, this is America, but seen from my point of view and that it is not a historical or scientific, but emotional movie. Here are the most important words of the director: In my American films, I reflect the information that comes to me, and my feelings about it. • 13. Essay On Asian American Stereotypes Asian Stereotypes are everywhere in our society. Racial stereotypes often arise from fear of the unknown. In the history of the different forms stereotypes often result from prejudice. It helps to explain why people tend to think that Asians do not drive well. But the statistics do not show this conclusion, also why blacks are more likely to be arrested or shot by the police. Specific racial stereotypes tend to have cultural background, while other racial stereotypes are simply due to the oversimplification of complex information. Stereotypes of Asians in particular have been around for a long of time. In the late 19th century, many Asians went to the United States to pursue their dream because they want to improve their family quality of life. And they work so hard to make money so Americans were afraid that the Asian laborers would invade the country and let them loose the job opportunity. • 14. Three Taxonomic GroupsGas Exchange, Insects, Fish, And... gas exchange is the movement of oxygen and carbon dioxide gases across the membrane by diffusion. These can be found within the three taxonomic groups insects, fish and mammals. Each of these taxonomic groups all have different gas exchanges and adaptations to enable them to continue their way of life. In this report, I will discuss the three taxonomic groups gas exchanges, and adaptations to carry this out. insects The first taxonomic group is an insect. internal gas exchange systems connect individual cells, and tissues with the air outside, due to a system of branching tubes named trachea. insects contain air tubes, named trachea and tracheoles throughout their body. These tubes are held in shape by rings of chitin. Insects don t have a circulatory system as such, so the tracheoles are to reach each individual cell in the body, as they re relying on diffusion to take place to take in oxygen. At each end of the tracheole, a small amount of liquid is placed, allowing gasses to dissolve, and then diffuse into each of the cells. The tracheal system is efficient in maintaining a high metabolic rate. The places in which the tubes leave the body, are called spiracles. Spiracles have the ability to open and close, to control the water loss. When in need of lots of oxygen, or if the environment is moist, the spiracles begin to open. When they close or are slightly open, they re not in need of oxygen, or the environment is dry. Insects also ventilate their gas exchange ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 16. The Problem Of The Classroom Authority Attention colleague: I have surveyed some of my students about the quality of your class, per your request. The overwhelming response I received related specifically to how you deliver instructions in the class. Many students reflected that when ask questions such as Is that where that book goes? , What did you forget to put on your paper? , and Would you like to sit down? you lose your credibility as the classroom authority. I am writing concerning this issue because of my desire to share with you information I have recently learned in relation to the differences in characteristics of authority between white, working class communities and black, poverty stricken communities. I will also explain the linguistic concept code switching, which is the ability to read the context of an environment and actively choose the language style that fits the environment, as mentioned in Wheeler (2008), and how this will lend a hand to you having more of an authoritative presence in the classroom. In the classroom, educators are the ones wielding the power and I believe you already understand this, which plays out in how educators speak to their students. From all the information my students have given me, I believe you are talking to them the same way your middle working class parents spoke to you and I believe that you understand that when you ask students to perform a task, you are implicitly telling them to complete the task. • 21. Night Elie Wiesel Night Analysis In the beginning of night we meet a 12 year old jewish boy named Elie. Elie lives in the town of Sighet he also lives with his parents and two older sisters, I actually find that quite ironic because I have two older sisters. He also has a cabbala teacher named moshe the beadle who is often described as awkward. Moshe is deported by the hungarians because he was a jew. After several months in captivity Moshe returns telling stories of how at the Polish border the jews were handed over to the Nazis and were forced to dig their own graves and were killed. But no one in the town believes his stories of mass killings. I can actually accept the fact that they did not believe him because what they were doing to the jews was inconceivable. Later once ... • 24. Coraline Symbolism A dream turned into a nightmare. This happens to Coraline, the main protagonist in the novel Coraline by Neil Gaiman. In the novel, a young girl named Coraline moves into a large house divides into apartments. She lives with her parents who both work, leaving Coraline to feel ignored. One day she accesses a portal to a mirror like house where her other parents live. At first her other parents seem like a dream, offering her whatever she wants and giving her constant attention. Coraline soon learns that the other world is not all that it seems and that she must escape in order to save herself and her parents. Unlike most children books, Coraline is a creepy postmodern fairy tale that uses elements of the uncanny to evoke fear in the reader. Freud s concept of the uncanny is helpful in explaining the text s appeal, and it s creepy uneasiness. Coraline focuses on people s fears about existence and identity as individual beings. Coraline must battle against her other mother to be independent from her and thus develop her own identity and desires. While the novel appears to be a mild horror story, Henry Selicks stop action photography adaptation of the novel has a different tone and uses concepts of the uncanny is more subtle ways. By using added characters, deleted scenes, and less grotesque imagery Henry Selick is able a children s adventure story while Neil Gaiman s novel focused on concepts of the uncanny and the fear of losing one s identity. The film begins with an evocative opening scene in which a pair of skeletal, robotic hands stich a doll identical to Coraline and then sends it floating out of a window. For most viewers the doll is viewed as a spy for the other mother. It is a portal between the two worlds that allows the other mother to cross between both. It is used to heighten the picture s anti realistic, otherworldly mood (time). The scene was not in the novel and was instead added to make references to the uncanny that is used more in the novel. The doll being made is uncanny. The stitching of the doll is unsettling because it is non human hands acting in a human way. The doll acts as a doppelganger, an inanimate thing that appears to move but yet is controlled by the other mother, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

He has never been without his mother for an extended period of time, and he will be leaving her alone with suitors that have been asking for her hand in marriage. These suitors show no evidence throughout the book that they treat Penelope with any sort of respect. They also don t respect that Penelope still loves Odysseus. • 27. The USAF and Future Leaders The USAF invests a lot of time and money in developing future leaders. In fact it established four schools geared toward developing its enlisted force at different levels of leadership. Those schools are the Airmen Leadership School (ALS), Non commissioned Officer Academy (NCOA), and Senior Non Commissioned Academy (SNCO), and the Chief School. All four schools focus on developing the leadership and management skills needed to supervise, manage, and lead people at each level of responsibility. The military as a whole has long history of leadership training and development (Gibson, 2005). The accomplishment of the mission is paramount for any military organization. Leadership is the determining factor in obtaining that goal. USAF defines leadership as the impact of personal influence and persuasion upon followers to direct the accomplishment of objectives. Leadership is not restricted to senior management and leadership, but is expected throughout all ranks. Gibson (2005, p2) states effective leadership is imperative to the achievement of military missions and the perception of the appropriate individuals, regardless of tenor, as leaders is paramount to this effectiveness. The way leaders interact and manage people has a direct bearing on employees job performance and satisfaction. • 29. The Effect Of Parent Child Relationships On Human Development Carr and Cortina provide a powerful explanation of Self Psychology, Heinz Kohut and John Bowlby, working independently, contributed to a paradigm shift within psychoanalysis. Their combined work dramatically changed the way many psychoanalysts understand the effect of parent child relationships on human development, as well as the very nature of psychopathology. This, in turn, transformed clinical practice as their ideas spread and many analysts became more emotionally responsive, creating a friendlier, more respectful therapeutic ambiance. (Carr Cortina, 2011, pg.42) Kohut was able to notice patients who were not doing well with the classic Freudian theories and he began to listen to those same patients who were suffering from low self esteem, lack of motivation and many difficulties on social and sexual spheres. The presented patient s self concept includes the above descriptions of what Kohut points out as well as, feelings of worthlessness, inadequacy, and helplessness which pervades functioning in negative ways (Hepworth, Larsen, Rooney, Strom Gottfried, 2011, p. 209). And some of that damaging thinking has led the patient to continue to self harm and abuse substances because she feels that this is what she deserves and that it is too late to start her outlook on over. Each performer delivered dialogue with an intense conviction and sharpness. This intensity was only magnified when the ensemble delivered their lines together loudly and articulately. The choreography was also synchronized and intricately placed to symbolize how a machine functions and reinforce this idea of a mechanized, industrial society that has robbed each worker of their humanity, more explicitly their individualistic personalities. Essay on Primo Levi- Pain Retold, Is Pain Redoubled quot;Pain retold, is pain redoubled quot; What prompts someone to write about their suffering, and how do they convey a sense of their emotions to the reader? Primo Levi is a Holocaust war victim, a survivor from Auschwitz, who for years was plagued by guilt because he survived a feeling that is passed on in Jewish tradition, which I understand being a fellow Jew. Jewish heritage is very important to all Jews; myself included, which is one reason why I can connect with the poet/author, his poems and his other works. Levi sees this as a personification of himself that he will forever walk the world knowing that he is alive, and the others not. These are a few of the many questions asked if one hasn t ever studied nuclear power or doesn t know how a power plant works. Nuclear fission is the splitting of atoms, which in nuclear fission is uranium atoms. A neutron is released at a targeted nucleus of uranium 235. Two or three neutrons are released from the target nucleus along with fission products, or other nuclei, as seen in the picture below. This process starts a chain reaction. If too many neutrons are present, the reaction may get out of control. If too few are present, the reaction may stop. Nuclear Fission Nuclear fission is almost the same thing as fission, but nuclear fission has one minor difference; its purpose is to produce energy. Examining The Role Of Women In Chaucer s Canterbury Tales The Wife of Bath s Tale (Middle English: the Tale of the Wyf of Bathe) is among the most understood of Geoffrey Chaucer s Canterbury Tales. It contribute insight into the role of females in the Late Middle Ages and was probably of interest to Chaucer himself, for the character is one of his most developed ones, with her Prologue twice as long as her Tale. He also goes so far as to describe two sets of clothing for her in his General Prologue. She does not take offense at the insult, but calmly asks him whether real gentillesse, or noble character, can be hereditary. Her family may be poor, but real poverty lies in covetousness, and real riches lie in having little and wanting nothing. Finally, he replies that he would rather trust her judgment, and he asks her to choose whatever she thinks best. She offers the knight a choice: either he can have her be ugly but loyal and good, or he can have her young and fair but also coquettish and unfaithful. The knight ponders in silence. The two have a long, happy marriage, and the woman becomes completely obedient to her husband. Because the knight s answer gave the woman what she most desired, the authority to choose for herself, she becomes both beautiful and good.
