Computer Simulation Software Based On Over The Counter (...
PharmaSim Final Report PharmaSim is computer simulation software based on over the counter
(OTC) cold medicine industry. It offers students interesting and different formats in which to learn
about marketing. The purpose of this exercise, for Team D, is to learn about marketing management
and decision making in a dynamic and highly competitive (saturated) business environment in which
students are tasked with making critical marketing decisions over a 7 year period; the PharmaSim
simulation program consisted of different marketing periods (seven) in which students perform the
duties of the marketing management team at the over the counter cold medicine (OCM) group of
Allstar Brands. Allstar brands Allround®, a global manufacturing leader of packaged goods since the
mid 1920 s, is currently the market leader in OTC cold remedies though, not making the most revenue
on it. The simulation of decision making for Allround® provides students with the following: 1)
experience in working with all of the concepts and tools that have been introduced in the course, 2)
reinforced understanding of importance of need to shape marketing decisions so that they are both
internally and externally consistent, and 3) real world demonstration, in a way the lectures cannot
replicate, of the complexities involved with marketing management. As will be discussed below, we
experienced highs and lows as new marketing management decision makers. We maneuvered and

Vasodilator Therapy
The treatment options for NOMI are medical management and emergency surgery. If complications
such as secondary peritonitis and sepsis co exist, the treatment plan should be tailored accordingly.
Other existing complications and incidental findings for treatment regarding Mr. S. s case will be
covered in this section.
Medical Management. Most cases of CI are resolved without surgical intervention in the absence of
perforation or necrosis (Brandt et al., 2014, p. 36). Treatment starts with removing the possible cause
of vasoconstriction or treating hypotension. To improve mesenteric perfusion, infusion of vasodilators
such as papaverine may be beneficial (Tilsed et al., 2016, p. 262). Vasodilator therapy is
contraindicated if surgical intervention is indicated, which will be discussed below. Papaverine is
chosen over other vasodilator agents because studies found that it reduced mortality rates in the setting
of NOMI (Tilsed et al., 2016, p. 262). Drugs that may cause vasoconstriction or contradict include
digitalis, kayexalate, NO Xplode, and nonsteroidal anti inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) (Brandt et al.,

Tyson Foods
Brand Elements
The brand elements that would be most useful for differentiating the product of Tyson Foods from
their competition are memorable, meaningful and transferable brand elements. Utilizing the brand
elements of memorable and meaningful will build the brand of Tyson Foods. This brand element will
convey a uniform quality, credibility and experience of Tyson Foods (Goodson, 2012). This will add
value to the company because Tyson Foods is well known and they are more than just a product and
name in the poultry industry. The brand element transferable will help leverage and preserve brand
equality against challenges from Tyson Food competitors (Kotler Keller, 2012). The brand element
transferable is a defensive brand element choice criteria. Appropriating the transferable brand element
will employ a defensive role in the brand elements. This should maintain the equity of the brand and
preserve the brand in the face of various opportunities and constraints (Francis, 2010). This section

agreement of the Trans Pacific Partnership (TPP), which will open new trade and investment
opportunities. Participants will create transparency of new laws and regulations such as, intellectual
property, reducing costs for Australian exporters, service suppliers and investors. Australia, as a
member of the Asia Pacific region, has a strategic position and competitive advantage of natural
resources, i.e. Australia is the largest exporter of coal (29% of global coal exports), as well Australia
does not have any land boundaries which results in a geographic distance constraints, i.e. affecting
communications and connectivity for financial services. The Australian population (22.75Mn in 2013)
reveals a low potential support ratio showing that there are fewer potential workers to support elderly
people. Australia as member of the TPP has opportunities and challenges that can be mitigated
regarding its competitive advantages. 2. Economic indicators Australia s economic growth appears to

Sexual Harassment In The Crucible
At the moment, Hollywood actors are falling left and right. After decades of silence, victims of sexual
harassment have gained the courage to confront their harassers and accuse them. This movement all
began with actresses Ashley Judd and Rose McGowan, who accused the well known Hollywood
mogul, Harvey Weinstein, of sexual harassment from two decades ago in a detailed timeline in the
New York Times article, Harvey Weinstein Paid off Sexual Harassment Accusers for Decades written
by Jodi Kantor and Megan Twohey. Following this accusation, several others began to make sexaul
harassment accusations against other popular actors. This movement quickly gained momentum,
however others have tried to discredit the accusers and are calling this a modern day witch hunt. This
movement creates a parallel to the 1692 Salem Witch Trials in Salem, Massachusetts, written about in
the play The Crucible by Arthur Miller. In the play, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In the beginning of The Crucible, a group of young girls were found in the woods and believed to be
practicing witchcraft. This event quickly spiraled into a continuous loop of accusation after
accusation. Several townspeople began to make claims and charge people, mostly women, on the
account of witchcraft, with insufficient evidence. However, the accusers were able to prosper because
of their political and religious climate. In a similar way, in present day, Ashley Judd and Rose
McGowan, accusations against Harvey Weinstein led to several other actresses/actors to come out and
reveal their own stories of sexual harassment and accuse other celebrities or film set workers.
However, in modern time, most accusations are believed and perpetrators are facing consequences but
during the witch trials, all accusations were firmly believed, although accusations

The Truth About War Revealed in the Film, The Thin Red...
The Truth About War Revealed in the Film, The Thin Red Line
Terrence Malick s The Thin Red Line (1998) is a film that examines the Guadalcanal Battle of World
War II, looking past the physical results of the violence, in order to uncover the deeper truths and
ramifications of war. The film conveys themes and ideologies that are somewhat uncommon to war
films, especially WW II films. In this dark, surreal, journey, Malick takes us inside the minds of
soldiers experiencing this battle to capture a remote pacific island from the Japanese. We do not hear
or see gruff, hardened soldiers, anxious to die for their country. In fact, there are no heroes in The Thin
Red Line. There are only regular men, scared of fighting and scared of dying, ... Show more content

The film is certainly an anti war film, but it does not place blame. It merely accepts that there is war,
and comments on the effects of it, letting our emotional and mental response do the rest. It examines
war not through the battles and through the violence, but through the emotions of the soldiers.
Geoffrey Macnab, another reviewer of the film, agrees. He states that ìIn The Thin Red Line, the battle
scenes merely provide the backdrop to Malickís inquiries into military behavior and the nature of evil.
(Macnab 54). Voice overs throughout the film allow us to get into the heads of these men. One soldier
prays while another man day dreams about his wife in the U.S. One soldier, after standing among the
remains of dozens of dead bodies after his company has taken a Japanese stronghold, reflects on how
the bodies have become no different than those of ìdead dogs.î War, then, becomes an unnatural force.
It becomes a force that drives regular men to suppress their natural, human feelings. If it were not for
this war, men would not have to convince themselves that dead bodies are no different than dead dogs,
and men would not have to contemplate about whether or not they can kill another man.
During The Thin Red Line, the island of Guadalcanal becomes a metaphor for natural purity, and is
constantly contrasted with the violence that has invaded its serenity. Malick shot the film with special

Stronger By Mandis Song Analysis
Ever since I was a little girl, music has always been a major part of my life. I listen to it all the time,
and it always has an effect on me. It has influenced my feelings, thoughts, and actions. While there are
many songs that mean a lot to me, the one song that has meant the most to me and positively
influenced me throughout my life is the Christian song Stronger by Mandisa. The first time I heard
Stronger was on the K Love Radio Station two days after my mom was diagnosed with breast cancer
for the second time. It was stage two, so it was a pretty serious disease going throughout my mom s
body. In the beginning, I was so upset and angry that something so terrible could happen to my family.

I knew she needed me and I needed to be an encourager toward her. When I heard this song, I knew it
was exactly what I needed. It was like sunshine during a hailstorm. During such a time of turmoil, I
never thought a song could change my attitude dramatically. My favorite line of the song says this,
The pain ain t gonna last forever/ And things can only get better/ Believe me, this is gonna make you
stronger . To me, these three lines told me that no matter what happened things could only go up, and I
can be better from it. I now know this to be true. Because of my mom s fight, I have the courage to go
after all of the things I thought I could not. For the first time, I was not scared of the future, as I used
to be. Although Stronger was written in early 2011, I still listen to it very often. Every time the song
brings back the terrible memories of both times the best person in my life had cancer. However, this
song also brings back the amazing memories I had with my mom. Memories that show her courage
and strength when I had little. One memory I had with my mom was sitting at Duke University
hospital waiting on her final chemotherapy treatment before her surgery a few weeks ahead. The first
three lines of the song perfectly described my life in that moment. As my mom and I listened, we just
laughed at how much the song meant to the both of

Schizoid Personality Disorder Research Paper
Schizoid Personality Disorder Psychiatrists recognize a variety of personality disorders based on
different patterns of behavior and cognition. While all such conditions are distinguished by general
negative influence on a person s life, each of them is characterized by a specific set of symptoms. The
purpose of this paper is to describe schizoid personality disorder. In the beginning, it is necessary to
define the condition in question. According to the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental
Disorders, schizoid personality disorder falls under Cluster A of personality disorders with the primary
distinctive feature being odd or eccentric behavior, and the formal definition goes as follows: a pattern
of detachment from social relationships and a restricted range of emotional expression (American
Psychiatric Association, 2013, p. 645). To satisfy the diagnostic criteria for this disorder, a person
should demonstrate at least four of the following patterns: 1) no desire or enjoyment of close
relationships; 2) strong preference for solitary activities; 3) little or no interest in sexual experiences
with another person; 4) taking pleasure ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Sass and Schwarte indicate several possible factors that contribute to the development of the schizoid
personality disorder: genetic, neurobiological, and sociocultural (2006, p. 131). For example,
psychodynamic approach names inadequacies in earliest relationships with parental figures as the
source of further maladaptive behavior (Sass Schwarte, 2006, p. 131). At the same time, the study
conducted by Esterberg et al. provides findings that suggest the presence of a biological vulnerability
and show a link between exposure to stressful life events and the progress of the condition (2010, p.
521). In all, there seems to be no single cause leading to the emergence of schizoid personality
disorder, but rather a combination of a number of different

Gays in the Military
Gays in the Military, is it right ?
For nearly 50 years, it has been the U.S. military s official policy to exclude homosexuals from
service. In November 1992, President elect Clinton told Americans that he planned to lift the military
s long standing ban on gays and lesbians. Homosexual men and women, he said, should not be
prevented from serving their country based on their sexual orientation. Soon after taking office in
1993, Clinton faced powerful military and congressional opposition to lifting the ban. General Colin
Powell, then chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, and Senator Sam Nunn, who was chairman of the
Senate Armed Forces Committee between 1987 an 1994 and left Congress in 1996, announced that

Throughout the 1980s, concerns about the spread of AIDS further solidified some military leaders
opposition to allowing gay people to serve. The directive remained in place until 1994, when it was
supersede by the don t ask, don t tell policy. Between 1980 and 1990, the armed forces discharged an
average of 1,500 service members annually because of their homosexuality. Defenders of the don t
ask, don t tell policy argue that the military must do what it needs to maintain the strongest possible
fighting force. In order to carry out that obligation, they say, military leaders must have the authority
and discretion to set rules as they see fit to keep up morale and maintain order. On the issue of gay
people s service, they say, if military commanders maintain that allowing gays and lesbians to serve
openly would be detrimental to morale and discipline, then courts and public should respect that
decision. Defenders of the ban and of the military s current policy dispute the notion that military
personnel should be afforded the same constitutional protections as civilians. Policy supporters
maintain that the military is a unique institution with its own set of rules. Opponents of the current
policy believe that while the military may have a

The Test Of Emotional Intelligence Test
Reflection Paper
It is always an eye opener to learn something about yourself that you did not know. I found the results

not, but is that always the case? The second test was an emotional intelligence test. It evaluates such
things as self awareness, self management, social awareness, and relationship management. Through
taking both of these tests, it gives tools to better yourself.

Self Management 5
Social Awareness 7

After reading the descriptions of the quadrants it, it shows both strength and weaknesses I have and

The first category is self awareness. It is made up of three competencies; they are emotional self
awareness, accurate self assessment, and self confidence. These sub categories allow you to be

Waiting to get married also has a lot of personal benefits. When you get married, you have another
person, and possible people, tied to you. You can t just up and move to benefit your career if you have
a spouse, kids, and a large extended family that expects to see you every Christmas. People who marry
later in life tend to be more successful in their line of work, as they can make more sacrifices for their

money that you earn only needs to feed and clothe one person, and the rest can go into savings and

A couple with little money shouldn t feel the need to spend thirty thousand dollars on an extravagant

Larkspur Middle School Research Paper
Do you remember the pep rallies from sixth grade? Remember how we sixth graders could not wait
until seventh grade to sit on the bleachers instead of the gym floor? Back in 2013, Larkspur Middle
School got rid of pep rallies since it was a safety hazard to have too many people in the gym at the
same time. Instead, they replaced pep rallies with spirit parades, so teams parade around the school for
about fifteen minutes and basically back up the whole school day. I think the best way to bring school
spirit back at Larkspur is to get rid of spirit parades, bring pep rallies back, and hold them outside.
First of all, spirit parades take too long and the hallway gets crowded quickly. When all the classes
were lined up along the lockers, it always got hot so fast. We had to stand up for about fifteen minutes
while being squished together. For example, it took a while for it to start, and it only lasted for about
five minutes. Spirit parades effected teachers, too. These parades cut into valuable class time. Plus,
teachers had to wait for their students who were in the parade to come back. Spirit parades were
probably worst for elective teachers and eight grade students and teachers. First elective classes like

There were not enough seats in the gym, so sixth graders had to sit on the floor, while seventh and
eighth graders had to sit on the bleachers. The crowdedness of the gym really had an effect on the
departure of leaving the gym. All the classes had to leave one by one through the maze of all the
students. This led to the fire department safety rule of only having a certain number or people in one
place at one time since it is a fire hazard. If a fire were to occur in the gym, then there would only be
about seven exits. These exits would not be easy to access since the pep rallies were only on one side

Creating Text Essay
Creating Text
The process of creating text without using technology appeared to be a simple task that would allow
the students to be a creator of his or her unique technology free masterpiece. I just had to come up
with a creative, natural way to write text instead of using modern technologies that society takes for
granted. How hard and restrictive could this assignment be? I soon found out everything would not go
exactly as planned. It took me two attempts and failures before I finally achieved some level of
success.
My first idea came to me while I was getting ready one morning. Why not use hair to create text! It is
a natural part of the human body that is constantly growing, natural and ... Show more content on

I could use the juice form smashing up raspberries, blueberries, strawberries, and blackberries to
create natural paint. I purchased all the berries but I still needed something to create my text on. I was
looking for a piece of fruit big enough to display my text when I discovered the honeydew melon. The
surface of the melon was hard and smooth which would operate as a perfect canvas for my fruit paint.
The only part of my creation that would not be completely natural would be the paintbrush, I would
have to use this tool since my finger or a stick wouldn t work. After I smashed up all the fruit, I used a
paintbrush and dabbed it into the juice then wrote what was supposed to be an A on the surface of the
honeydew melon. Once again, I reached another failure. The juice form the smashed up fruit barely
showed up on the melon, even though the melon was light in color, the juice wasn t thick and dark
enough to be legible. After two failures my motivation and enthusiasm was depleting. I was becoming
frustrated and annoyed with the assignment and all the ideas I had up until this point.
My third attempt turned out to be successful but was more restrictive than I thought it would be. After
racking my brain trying to develop creative ideas I realized I needed to focus on completing the
assignment, meeting the requirements, and keeping the already complicated task as simple as possible.
A new element I hadn t considered now

Hunting In Alaska
Many people hunt because, like people in Alaska need to hunt for food and hunting keeps animal
populations steady and not out of control. I hunt and from my experiences I have killed a snow
goose,1 Canada goose, 1 banded Canada goose, an 8 point buck, and a few ducks. Hunting is a great
outdoor activity that you can t do all year. People I know have been devastated because hunters have
been unsafe and killed their dog because they were too excited. Hunting helps control animal
population with safari hunts, conservation hunting, and is the best way to protect Africa s lion s.
Is hunting the best way control Africa s lions? Hunt them, some experts say. To begin with, Dan Joling

Still, here are two reasons why safari hunts benefit hunters who pay for it. The first reason is, Many
countries could not bear those added administrative costs. They would have to forgo hunting and the
benefits derived from regulated tourist safari hunting. Many lion populations would perish with the
loss of hunting habitat, decline in enforcement and the rise in the lion livestock conflict. says John J.
Jackson, III . John is telling us that many of the countries need those added costs to hunters coming
overseas to hunt animals. The second reason is that when lion habitats are in hunting areas, Most lion
habitat is in hunting areas that, in aggregate, are larger than national parks. There is no other place for
them! A major source of revenue for the operating budgets of wildlife and enforcement authorities is
from licensed, regulated tourist safari hunting. A threatened listing would raise the cost of safaris,
cause the loss of habitat and prey, and upset local residents by taking away their benefits. Says John J.

Lionel Dahmer Born on May 21, 1960 Date of evaluation: 1992 sometime before the trial Background
Information: Jeffrey Dahmer was a sex offender and serial killer mainly between the years 1978 and
1991. He is well known for his severely atypical behaviors. Among his outward manners that are
recognized as abnormal are paraphilia specifically necrophilia and sexual sadism. Jeffrey Dahmer s
victims, whom were boys and men, suffered from rape, violence, dismemberment and finally their
murders. Dahmer s slow progression of killings soon turned into an obsession, which would later land

Jeffrey was arrested in the same year, 1988, for sexually fondling and drugging a young teenage boy
(age thirteen); for this, he was put on probation for five years and for one year he was assigned to a
work release camp where he was registered as a sex offender from the incident with the thirteen year
old boy. Due to good behavior and a built up trust with the authorities, Dahmer was paroled from his
work release camp two months early. Jeffrey Dahmer began killing at age eighteen, which was during
the summer of 1978. Since this was after his parent s divorce, Dahmer s mother no longer lived at the
same house and his father was away for business duties. Jeffrey had brought a man over to the house
offering to drink alcohol with him, and when the man tried to leave, Jeffrey beat him to death with a
ten pound weight to the head. Dahmer did not murder again until nine years later where he killed a
man randomly after picking him up; Dahmer said he could not recollect anything about this murder.
After the second murder, Jeffrey Dahmer s killings increased dramatically adding two more to the
same year (1989), five the following year (1990), and several after that. On July 22, 1991 Jeffrey
Dahmer was arrested for the alleged 17 murders (which would later be reduced to 15). Clinical

Activity diagrams are graphical representations of workflows of stepwise activities and actions with
support for choice, iteration and concurrency. In the Unified Modeling Language, activity diagrams
are intended to model both computational and organizational processes (i.e. workflows). Activity
diagrams show the overall flow of control.

A hacker attacks an easy target first, and then uses it to hide his identity and traces of launching
attacks at more secured sites. The aim of an attack is to gain complete control of the system (in order
to edit, delete, install or execute any file in any user s directory), often by gaining access to a super
user account. This will allow both maximum access and the ability to hide your presence.
Often attacks are based on software bugs that a hacker can use to give himself or herself super user
status. Also one can get a copy of the password file (which stores user names and encrypted passwords
and is often publically accessible) and either do a brute force attack trying all possible combinations,
or encrypt a dictionary and compare the results to see if anyone choose a password that is a dictionary

Another method of hacking is to email someone a program that either automatically runs or that runs
when they click on an attachment. This helps to install a program that will give control of their

The Teachings Of The Bible
The definition of faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see . My
definition of faith is that it s your spiritual beliefs and it s a strong belief in a personal God . My
religion is Christianity . I believe that God has revealed himself and can be known in a personal way
in life . When we have Jesus Christ we do not focus on the religious rituals or performing good works
, we enjoy getting a relationship with God and growing a powerful bond so that we can get to know
him better . The Bible is the account of God s action in the world , and his purpose with all creation
.The Bible contains the message God desired . I believe that the Bible was written as a message to
humankind to guide us in the right path to success. I believe the Bible is inspiration . It s inerrant and
infallible meaning it s without error and unable to fail. The Holy Bible is the only accurate Bible from
the word of God . It determines all the doctrinal truths . God is existent in three persons Father , Son
(Jesus ) and the Holy Spirit . They are coequal and co eternal . The Holy Spirit is filled beyond the
limit because God was the only person to live a sinless life . A scripture I grew up on was The Lord is
my Shepherd , I shall not want comes from the 23rd Psalm and the Old Testament. The scripture
means that they had the lord as they shepherd and we will not lack the basic needs of life : like food ,
shelter , and clothing. Instead of going insane about

Social Media Should Be Regulated Essay
SOCIAL MEDIA SHOULD BE REGULATED ABSTRACT As social media becomes a heavy
influence in our online presence, certain elements need to be policed, as laws can still be broken. This
is an insight into if social media, more specifically social networking sites, can be regulated to avoid
recent spates of trolling or whether it only serves to strip people of freedom to speech.
INTRODUCTION Social media has now become a part of our modern day society and has a huge
impact on our lives on a daily basis. Social media is the use of web and mobile based technology to
support interactive content. This content tends to be user generated and then might be promoted by
other users to a new outlet or audience. Social Networking is a great ... Show more content on

However other social media platforms such as Formspring and Twitter allow users to remain
anonymous, bar the IP addresses stored on their servers. This allows users to hid behind their
computers and say things that would be considered inappropriate and possibly illegal on a public
stage, in the real world. Trolling has taken on many forms in social media and with so many platforms
to choose from, anyone with intent can use this to their advantage. Twitter accounts have been used to
make threats and harass celebrities, Joe McElderry being one of many victims. Ennis McBride, with
the sole intent of stalking Joe, made an anonymous twitter account to continue his harassment. [5] As
technology has advanced, laws have been introduced to protect society, for instance the interception
and disclosure of messages as part of the wireless telegraphy act 2006, section 48[6]. So why would
you not regulate social media, a new technology phenomena with the potential to cause harm? We
could agree that social media should be regulated to avoid trolling incidents like the ones mentioned.
However, the Leveson report, a hotly debated topic at present, is trying to introduce regulations on the
press, with no guidelines on how to deal with social media. Daily Mail online editor Martin Clarke
says it has destroyed the ability of governments, companies and individuals to control the flow of
information to the

Explain Why College Should Not Be Free Essay
Why college should not be free
College in modern times is said to be a necessity for success, but should college be free? The system
college creates relies on the cost of the education being extremely high to function, if we made college
free it would lose all of its value. Without the high price, college would just be an extension of your
high school education. Education is expensive and someone else would have to foot the bill for your
secondary learning and housing. On the other hand, college creates many problems for the students
who choose to attend. Some of these problems include a perceived lack of fairness, massive amounts
of debt, and a lack of opportunity for students who grew up in a lower economic class. Another
drawback to expensive education is the very intelligent ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Debt has become a major issue in politics for my generation, people think they should be absolved of
the debt they signed up for. It would be very good for our country if no person had any debt from their
education. In a time where the majority of people own less than the top one percent, we should be
doing everything we can to help people who cannot pay for their education. The only problem is that
someone has to pay back the money that they barrowed. It would be irresponsible to trust your own
debt, that you knowingly signed up for, onto every tax paying American. When people sign up for
college it is not like anyone forced them to take out loans or forced them to go to college in the first
place. Some might say that the cost of college is so great that no person should be expected to pay
back such a large sum. While it is true that the cost is high, every person should be responsible for the
money that they borrowed to pay for their degree. Thankfully with a college degree you have more
opportunities at getting a high paying job to make it easier to pay your

Sex and Dominance in The Ghost Road Essay
Sex and Dominance in The Ghost Road
Pat Barker s The Ghost Road is a masterful literary integration of sex and war. The novel s
protagonist, the lascivious, bisexual Billy Prior once remarks: Whole bloody western front s a wanker
s paradise, a statement with far reaching implications concerning aggression and eroticism (Barker
177). The novel concludes a successful trilogy, beginning with Regeneration (1991) and The Eye in
the Door (1993). Winner of the prestigious Booker Prize Award in 1995, The Ghost Road delves into
many standard Booker motifs, such as war, the British class system, memory, and childhood, but
Barker revitalizes these worn subjects. With prostitutes, lecherous priests, and the naked body, she ...

Unlike the crying child, Prior is duly subservient to the doctor s orders. Doctor Mather infantilizes
Prior, calling him laddie (Barker 11). His examination by the dominating doctor reminds Prior of his
childhood, and of his early sexual liaisons with men. At this early point, Barker leaves the reader in
the dark as to Prior s history as a male prostitute. Clues to this history arise throughout the first half of
the novel in flashes, as memories of childhood trauma.
This opening scene incorporates a variety of dynamics. First, the squad of running soldiers entices
Prior s sexual appetite, as do the bodies of his own men later on at the baths. This outlines the sexual
and military objectification of the male physique. Second, the domineering doctor anally penetrates
the passive Prior with his fingers, which Prior interprets as an intermingling of medical and sexual
authority. For Prior, the line between clinical and sexual authority blurs. Later, in the baths, Prior s
command authority over his naked men mixes with his desire to exercise sexual authority. Third and
finally, the doctor infantilizes his patient, spurring ghostly memories of childhood sexual abuse. As
steeped as this scene is in sexual innuendo, this is just the beginning; Barker s booker is overripe with
sexual subtexts and Foucaultian

Premillennialist Belief In Rapture
The fact that there exist various narratives concerning the topic of apocalypse invites the notion that
there is a great number of people desiring the end of the world. Why would somebody be desirous of
terminating the world s existence? Despite the fact that the end of the world has a dark, uncanny,
irredeemably, and desperate tone to it, one has to consider its consequences. Therefore, the evangelical
protestantism belief in the rapture offers a solution to the otherwise unsatisfactory or even nonexistent
future. Dispensational premillennialists think of themselves as being designated to spread the idea of
rapture; which conveys that Christ will come to earth in order to take the true believers to heaven.
True believers are worthy of this ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The rapture in this case is a synonym for escape; an escape from a world true believers are
undeservingly trapped in. The question that emerges while analyzing rapture is whether true believers
are utterly freed from desires in heaven. Humans are determined to desire something and therefore it
appears unlikely that after being taken to heaven, these desires completely vanish. Another reason for
apocalyptic desire in terms of the rapture is hope for a better life. People that feel incomplete, that
cannot bear competition, that are harrassed or even people that are alone may desire to be taken away
from a miserable place. God s existence and his presence in heaven would save them. Faith and hope
motivate discontented people to cope with everyday life. Furthermore Crawford Gribben explains that:
[...] dispensational premillennialism appealed to those evangelicals dissatisfied with the theological
prevarications of mainstream Protestantism, as well as those, [...], whose disappointment with the
possibilities of mission work was both a cause and a consequence of their increasingly pessimistic
millennial point of view. (Gribben 5) The irony of his statement nevertheless is that in terms of a
pessimistic millennial point of

The Mortgage And Financial Collapse Of The United States...
The mortgage and financial collapse of the United States economy had a very devastating impact on
thousands upon thousands of Americans. I count myself as one who also had been affected as well. I
was a bank manager with more than twenty years of banking experience and had decided during the
spring of 1998 to move into a more lucrative career in the mortgage and real estate business. Having
started my banking career as a teller, I had built great relationships with my employers and customers
and was proud of what I had accomplished. However, upon hearing the news of yet another bank
merger, I decided that I would train as a mortgage processor with one of the best mortgage providers
in New Jersey. Advancements came very quickly ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
I am not against creative financing to help individuals obtain the homes of their dreams. I was just not
happy about the way that sub prime mortgages were presented to customers who did not fully
understand what their particular mortgage note detailed. Therefore, the lessons that we have learned is
that a buyer needs to be fully informed on how the process actually works. I recall one former client
who was wiser than most, and she had decided that despite what the bank told her what she could
afford ($140K) , she searched for a home priced ($100K) so she could afford it on her own. Years
later, she told me about her husband s infidelity and sure enough he left their home within 14 months
and she was stuck with the payments. Nevertheless, she made her payments and even though she was
late several times, her resilience and determination paid off. She sold her house to a contractor for
more than doubled its worth because of the two lots that the house was on. She had a success story.
That is why it is very important to know what you are getting yourself into. I felt very sad when I
would witness the lack of understanding of newly arrived immigrants who could barely understand the
English language but there they were, trying to secure a mortgage loan. Full knowledge goes a long
way and that is one of the reasons that I would refer clients to take a class on mortgage lending with
one of the local realty agencies. Many of those

Eric In J. B. Priestley s An Inspector Calls
An Inspector Calls is a morality play, which is a kind of allegorical drama having personified abstract
qualities as the main characters (the Inspector) and presenting a lesson about good conduct and
character. The play is also a whodunit, which is a complex, plot driven variety of the detective story in
which the audience is given the opportunity to engage in the same process of deduction as the
protagonist throughout the investigation of crime.
Before the play begins, Eric is described as half shy, half assertive and not quite at ease . Through this
description, Eric is portrayed as an uneasy character. An explanation as to why he is uneasy,
throughout the majority of the play, he is drunk. Although both his parents know that he enjoys

Although Mr. Birling is known as a hard headed man of business , he cares about his son, Eric Birling.
This can be shown when Eric asks for a drink in the presence of Inspector Goole, his father, Arthur

Questions On Learning And Lesson Planning
1. What challenges have you faced?
Some of the challenges I have faced behavior issues with the students, disgruntle parents, difficult
administration and time management. When I 1st started teaching I had 34 students and I would give
homework and I could not check the homework every night and I had a policy where if the child
missed 3 homework they would get a phone call. And she called the students home the parent was
very rude and was wondering why she was just now getting a call. She didn t use profanity but I felt
degraded and my confidence went down and I felt like I wasn t a good teacher.

One of my weaknesses is technology and incorporating it into the lesson. But I am trying to get better
by asking questions and my school offers training in the technology in the classroom. The smartboard
being an example. Plus, they upgraded the smartboard and I was just adjusting to the one I had
currently and then we got a new one.
8. When did you decide to become a teacher and why did you choose this field?
I always wanted to be a teacher even as a child. What helped me make that decision was my first
calculus and accounting course because I realize business was not for me and I have always worked
with children on one level or another. I was a Sunday school teacher at my church and I had nieces
and nephews that I had to watch and assist with their work.
9. What personal strengths do you find especially helpful in your teaching?
The personal strengths that you find helpful in my teaching is the fact that I have always been around
children which helps me know how they think and being a team player and work well with others.
And plus, I liked to see a finished product. I like to start something and finish it through which is
important when teaching.
10. What is your philosophy of education?
My philosophy of education. I still hold on to my three R s reading, writing a and arithmetic but I see
the benefits of grouping and using the different learning style to give the students different every point

Compare and contrast the War of 1812 and the...
The War of 1812 and the Mexican American War are two wars that physically appear two opposites.
The War of 1812 involves plenty of naval battles and a few major land battles, while the Mexican
American War involves numerous land battles and few, if any, naval battles. However there are
numerous similarities.
The War of 1812, The US saw Great Britain as a major problem because of their definition of
contraband and the impressment of American sailors into the British Navy. And around this time the
warhawks are elected to the House of Representatives. They wanted war because the British were

So in the War of 1812 America is utterly unsuccessful in gaining any land, however in the Mexican
American War all the land we hoped for at the beginning of the war we have almost no problem in

It offers students interesting and different formats in which to learn about marketing. The purpose of this exercise, for Team D, is to learn about marketing management and decision making in a dynamic and highly competitive (saturated) business environment in which students are tasked with making critical marketing decisions over a 7 year period; the PharmaSim simulation program consisted of different marketing periods (seven) in which students perform the duties of the marketing management team at the over the counter cold medicine (OCM) group of Allstar Brands. Allstar brands Allround®, a global manufacturing leader of packaged goods since the mid 1920 s, is currently the market leader in OTC cold remedies though, not making the most revenue on it. The simulation of decision making for Allround® provides students with the following: 1) experience in working with all of the concepts and tools that have been introduced in the course, 2) reinforced understanding of importance of need to shape marketing decisions so that they are both internally and externally consistent, and 3) real world demonstration, in a way the lectures cannot replicate, of the complexities involved with marketing management. If complications such as secondary peritonitis and sepsis co exist, the treatment plan should be tailored accordingly. Other existing complications and incidental findings for treatment regarding Mr. S. s case will be covered in this section. Medical Management. Most cases of CI are resolved without surgical intervention in the absence of perforation or necrosis (Brandt et al., 2014, p. 36). Treatment starts with removing the possible cause of vasoconstriction or treating hypotension. To improve mesenteric perfusion, infusion of vasodilators such as papaverine may be beneficial (Tilsed et al., 2016, p. 262). Vasodilator therapy is contraindicated if surgical intervention is indicated, which will be discussed below. Papaverine is chosen over other vasodilator agents because studies found that it reduced mortality rates in the setting of NOMI (Tilsed et al., 2016, p. 262). Drugs that may cause vasoconstriction or contradict include digitalis, kayexalate, NO Xplode, and nonsteroidal anti inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) (Brandt et al., 2014, p. 25). A ... After decades of silence, victims of sexual harassment have gained the courage to confront their harassers and accuse them. This movement all began with actresses Ashley Judd and Rose McGowan, who accused the well known Hollywood mogul, Harvey Weinstein, of sexual harassment from two decades ago in a detailed timeline in the New York Times article, Harvey Weinstein Paid off Sexual Harassment Accusers for Decades written by Jodi Kantor and Megan Twohey. Following this accusation, several others began to make sexaul harassment accusations against other popular actors. The Truth About War Revealed in the Film, The Thin Red Line Terrence Malick s The Thin Red Line (1998) is a film that examines the Guadalcanal Battle of World War II, looking past the physical results of the violence, in order to uncover the deeper truths and ramifications of war. The film conveys themes and ideologies that are somewhat uncommon to war films, especially WW II films. In this dark, surreal, journey, Malick takes us inside the minds of soldiers experiencing this battle to capture a remote pacific island from the Japanese. We do not hear or see gruff, hardened soldiers, anxious to die for their country. In fact, there are no heroes in The Thin Red Line. It merely accepts that there is war, and comments on the effects of it, letting our emotional and mental response do the rest. It examines war not through the battles and through the violence, but through the emotions of the soldiers. Geoffrey Macnab, another reviewer of the film, agrees. He states that ìIn The Thin Red Line, the battle scenes merely provide the backdrop to Malickís inquiries into military behavior and the nature of evil. (Macnab 54). Voice overs throughout the film allow us to get into the heads of these men. One soldier prays while another man day dreams about his wife in the U.S. One soldier, after standing among the remains of dozens of dead bodies after his company has taken a Japanese stronghold, reflects on how the bodies have become no different than those of ìdead dogs.î War, then, becomes an unnatural force. It becomes a force that drives regular men to suppress their natural, human feelings. If it were not for this war, men would not have to convince themselves that dead bodies are no different than dead dogs, and men would not have to contemplate about whether or not they can kill another man. During The Thin Red Line, the island of Guadalcanal becomes a metaphor for natural purity, and is constantly contrasted with the violence that has invaded its serenity. While there are many songs that mean a lot to me, the one song that has meant the most to me and positively influenced me throughout my life is the Christian song Stronger by Mandisa. The first time I heard Stronger was on the K Love Radio Station two days after my mom was diagnosed with breast cancer for the second time. To me, these three lines told me that no matter what happened things could only go up, and I can be better from it. I now know this to be true. Because of my mom s fight, I have the courage to go after all of the things I thought I could not. For the first time, I was not scared of the future, as I used to be. Although Stronger was written in early 2011, I still listen to it very often. Every time the song brings back the terrible memories of both times the best person in my life had cancer. However, this song also brings back the amazing memories I had with my mom. Memories that show her courage and strength when I had little. One memory I had with my mom was sitting at Duke University hospital waiting on her final chemotherapy treatment before her surgery a few weeks ahead. While all such conditions are distinguished by general negative influence on a person s life, each of them is characterized by a specific set of symptoms. The purpose of this paper is to describe schizoid personality disorder. In the beginning, it is necessary to define the condition in question. According to the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders, schizoid personality disorder falls under Cluster A of personality disorders with the primary distinctive feature being odd or eccentric behavior, and the formal definition goes as follows: a pattern of detachment from social relationships and a restricted range of emotional expression (American Psychiatric Association, 2013, p. 645). The effective channel length (Leff) and the peak location of the PTS doping profile (Xdepth) for the SSR FinFETs have been optimized individually such that to ensure the ON state drive current Id, sat is maximized, whereas maintaining the OFF state current specification at (IOFF = 30 pA/μm). The Table II provides an overview of the important performance parameters for the given FinFET devices which have been optimized. In November 1992, President elect Clinton told Americans that he planned to lift the military s long standing ban on gays and lesbians. Homosexual men and women, he said, should not be prevented from serving their country based on their sexual orientation. Soon after taking office in 1993, Clinton faced powerful military and congressional opposition to lifting the ban. The directive remained in place until 1994, when it was supersede by the don t ask, don t tell policy. Between 1980 and 1990, the armed forces discharged an average of 1,500 service members annually because of their homosexuality. Defenders of the don t ask, don t tell policy argue that the military must do what it needs to maintain the strongest possible fighting force. In order to carry out that obligation, they say, military leaders must have the authority and discretion to set rules as they see fit to keep up morale and maintain order. On the issue of gay people s service, they say, if military commanders maintain that allowing gays and lesbians to serve openly would be detrimental to morale and discipline, then courts and public should respect that decision. Defenders of the ban and of the military s current policy dispute the notion that military personnel should be afforded the same constitutional protections as civilians. Remember how we sixth graders could not wait until seventh grade to sit on the bleachers instead of the gym floor? Back in 2013, Larkspur Middle School got rid of pep rallies since it was a safety hazard to have too many people in the gym at the same time. Instead, they replaced pep rallies with spirit parades, so teams parade around the school for about fifteen minutes and basically back up the whole school day. I think the best way to bring school spirit back at Larkspur is to get rid of spirit parades, bring pep rallies back, and hold them outside. First of all, spirit parades take too long and the hallway gets crowded quickly. When all the classes were lined up along the lockers, it always got hot so fast. We had to stand up for about fifteen minutes while being squished together. For example, it took a while for it to start, and it only lasted for about five minutes. Spirit parades effected teachers, too. These parades cut into valuable class time. Plus, teachers had to wait for their students who were in the parade to come back. Spirit parades were probably worst for elective teachers and eight grade students and teachers. First elective classes like academic support, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... At this early point, Barker leaves the reader in the dark as to Prior s history as a male prostitute. Clues to this history arise throughout the first half of the novel in flashes, as memories of childhood trauma. This opening scene incorporates a variety of dynamics. First, the squad of running soldiers entices Prior s sexual appetite, as do the bodies of his own men later on at the baths. This outlines the sexual and military objectification of the male physique. Second, the domineering doctor anally penetrates the passive Prior with his fingers, which Prior interprets as an intermingling of medical and sexual authority. Premillennialist Belief In Rapture The fact that there exist various narratives concerning the topic of apocalypse invites the notion that there is a great number of people desiring the end of the world. Why would somebody be desirous of terminating the world s existence? Despite the fact that the end of the world has a dark, uncanny, irredeemably, and desperate tone to it, one has to consider its consequences. Therefore, the evangelical protestantism belief in the rapture offers a solution to the otherwise unsatisfactory or even nonexistent future. Another reason for apocalyptic desire in terms of the rapture is hope for a better life.
