The Gospel Of Judas, Tell Judas
A Gospel is a religious document that describes Jesus life from when he was born, until death and the
resurrection of Jesus Christ. Jesus, himself, had 12 disciples, whom advised him and later grew to the
name, The 12 Apostles . Those of whom Jesus call his Apostles (Students) were: Simon (Named
Peter), Andrew ( Peters brother), James (Son of Zamebee), John (James brother), Phillip,
Bartholomew, Thomas, Matthew (The Tax Collector), James (Son of Alphaeus), Thaddaeus, Simon
(The Cananean) and lastly, Judas Iscariot. Of these Twelve Apostles, one presumably betrayed of lord.
His name, Judas Iscariot. The Gospel of Judas, tell Judas accounts of what is going on through his
point of view. It has been lost through time. But has been found. 1,600 years later in the caverns of
Egypt.
Gnostic Church s are the religious
Throughout all the other gospels, they claim that Judas Iscariot betrayed Jesus Christ to the Romans
for a mass sum, of 30 pieces of silver. Now that may not sound like too much now, but back then in
33AD, it was a large amount. Judas was a politician. Who played both Jews and romans to use Jesus
as leader of the revolution against the roman empire, in which was doubled politic by Jews and the
Rabbi and they get rid of both Jesus and Judas in one place. Once they were united, Judas laid a kiss
upon Jesus , cheek, telling the Romans; whom were watching, that this is Jesus Christ. The Romans
didn t believe Jesus to be the man whom he d heard stories about.

Briefly Summarize The Folole Muliaga Case
Introduction I will review the unethical event that happened in New Zealand. This event lead to a
power disconnection and to the death of the customer. This event and the outcomes will be evaluated.
Civil and criminal arrangements and the standards that were used will be considered. The purpose of
this paper will be to define the legitimacy of the organization s behaviors. The matter of this study is
about a New Zealand owned orginzation that is tax payer funded. The orginzation is one of four utility
companies that provided energy services to New Zealand. They provided these services for a cost
(Eweje, 2010 #88). There was incident where there was a situation that a taxpayer had a disconnection
of service. This disconnection and the denial that the orginzation did anything wrong forced changes
in the way they handled their social responsibility. Briefly summarize the Folole Muliaga scenario

The contractor clearly stated that he did see the oxygen machine, therefore the disregard is understood
to be adherent. The abandonment of care caused the death of an account holder. Heedlessly of the
family behavior, the orginzation should have safeguarded against a negative impact. This incident
produced damaging public opinion. Mercury Energy was state owned and funded by taxpayers. This
episode caused a huge impact that was very negative because the taxpayers and New Zealand
expected more from the utility company when death occurred. The backing of the organizational
operations decreased, causing support and funding from the state to decrease. The activities of
orginzation were illegal and immoral, however, they did follow organizations policies that were legal.

Samuel Barber Piano
Noted to be one of Samuel Barber s most popular piano works, acclaimed pianist Vladimir Horowitz
called Sonata for Piano, op. 26 the first truly great native work in the form and premiered the sonata,
sparking it s rise to fame. Barber was a friend and fan of Horowitz, and found compositional
inspiration through Horowitz s playing by implementing wide pallets of color, flexible tempo changes,
and huge sonorities. In addition, Horowitz found Barber to be one of the few American composers
who knows how to write for the piano. Composed during the late 1940 s, this sonata is very
emblematic of some of the many unconventional 20th Century composing techniques, through the
usage of 12 tone technique, unconventional harmonies, and chromaticism and ... Show more content

The dynamic and energetic first movement starts in a different key than it s home key of E flat minor,
and was woven in sonata form. It is known for having many staggering several key and time signature
changes and rhythmic figurations that mostly consist of dotted 8ths and 16ths, triplets, and groups of
16ths while contrasting with very mysterious sounding lyrical themes in between. These alternations
are very unpredictable and constantly keep the listener guessing. The second movement, which is in
rondo form, maintains the mysteriousness of the first movement, but maintains a very playful and
mischievous attitude, rather than an intense and fiery one. It keeps flowing and flowing like water
without stopping to slow down once, all while maneuvering between double and triple meter and
skipping around the range of the keyboard. The third movement s aesthetic is one of heart wrenching
lament through lots of sobbing chromaticism, dissonant shades, and dark, tempestuous chords.
Stylistically, it is the most modern sounding movement of all and employs the 12 tone technique like

Community Is The Goal Oriented Community
A community is an interacting group of various species and abiotic things that live within the same
location. Each community is different due to being comprised of unique organisms and inanimate
objects. The basic unit of community relies on survival. As stated by de Waal, the primate community
is a prime example which displays how we perform innate behaviors to ensure our survival. The next
level of community is the goal oriented community. Goal oriented communities strive to bring about
change in their communities whether it be for better or worse. The goal oriented community can be
allotted into different categories. One type of an ambitious community is that of associations as
described by Tocqueville. The other goal oriented community is that of the revolutionary community.
This community attempts to raise awareness about injustice found in a community and urges that
members of the community fight to make injustice cease to exist. The final stage of community ends
with the community that cares for the environment as a whole. Not only does it care for the living
things that reside in the community, but it appreciates the nonliving things that are found in the
community as well. The nature loving community recognizes that everything within the community is
necessary to have and to care for. Each of these communities start with having the need for survival
but become more complex until they are able to incorporate love in their communities. The foundation

Lord Of The Flies Theme Analysis
Ralph wept for the end of innocence, the darkness of a man s heart (Golding 202).
This quote portrays, the loss of innocence and what horrifying effects it can do to one s heart.
The loss of innocence changes a person. One can determine that with Ralph when he becomes less
like a child and more like an adult. Even though, In William Golding s novel, Lord of The Flies he
demonstrates the boys being immature, one can perceive the boys maturing as their innocence is
slaughtered with the character Ralph.
In Lord of the Flies, by William Golding, one can recognize maturity through the demolish of
innocence with Ralph realizing how much power he holds. To begin, Ralph comes to terms with how
much power he has when he realizes how much destruction one is capable of.
As the boys sit by the fire they mutter, You got your small fire alright. The boys were falling still and
silent feeling the awe at the power set free below them (Golding 44). To clarify, Ralph recognizes the
power he has when the fire that him and the boys created goes out of control. When he does
something wrong there is no grown up who is going to punish him he has to be mature to be safe or he
will create destruction. Ralph loses a shred of innocence that night.
Furthermore, Ralph realizes how much power has when he comes to terms of how much power a man
can hold over another s life. As they grieve over Simon s death young Piggy mentions, You can take
spears if you want but I shan t. What s the good? I ll have to

How To Survive Law School
It s well established by now that law school is without a doubt completely contradicting to being an
undergraduate in every aspect. In addition, in regards to writing in law school I believe that it will be a
hard transition form that of undergraduate but everything is possible. Two of the methods to survive
law school essay writing is an obvious and well established one which is enough sleep the night prior
to taking an exam and the other reviewing my professors prior exams if possible to do so. If I were
able to have access to my professors prior exams it would help me with knowing what exactly the
professor is searching for or wants from me. In other words, I basically have an idea of what to do. In

Night Road Narrative
Leaving my automotive class, I remember the clear night sky filled with stars, the air cool and crisp,
little did I know my journey home would be far from route. Making the right hand turn driving down
the street like I ve done at least a thousand times before. Both sides of the street littered with an
assortment of cars, vans, and other vehicles, so passing was difficult, if not impossible. Stalking up
behind a white Ford Explorer Sports Trac that was stopped in the middle of the street, like a panther in
the jungle night hunting in my blacked out 2003 Jaguar S type R and I tell you when I bought it for
my wife this car was very sexy. Ok, now back to the story, stopped in this blockade of vehicles, I was

Taking a couple of days to process everything, I called him back and settled, so I traveled up there and
sat down with the adjusted as he cut me the first check. Engaging with him in a conversation about
The Walking Dead TV series for a couple of minutes I take a quick look at the check and in reserve

let me get you the correct amount. So when depositing the check in my bank account through the

doing a self check in my mind, I m physically ok, sure. Images of the accident still fresh that causes
slight anxiety when cars get too close, saying in my mind Please don t hit me. However, my car still

The Importance Of A Student s Elementary Career
As an educator, it is my main goal to meet the individual needs of each and every one of my students.
I want them to be able to think critically when it comes to reading and writing and most importantly,
be comfortable in the classroom. It is also a goal of mine to be able to track the progress of each of my
students in the classroom from the first days of school until the closing days so that I can not only
show parents how far they ve come, but to show them as well. Young students struggle to find their
niche in life and in the classroom and showing them how far they ve come is a great confidence
booster and a huge motivator for future success.
Literacy is one of the single most important aspects of a student s elementary career. Literacy is a huge
stepping stone for the real world, and it is vital to introduce students to different types of texts in order
to familiarize them with different types of readings and build their confidence in order to prepare
themselves for the real world. In order to reach full literacy, one must focus on four main aspects of
balanced literacy instruction. These are reading, writing, oral language and assessments. Factors that
also affect the success of students are classroom environment, and lesson delivery.
Literacy in Reading and Writing
Literacy has a tendency to begin in reading and writing. It is important to meet the needs of every
student in literacy classes regardless of age. Morrow and Tracey state Instead of waiting

Questions On Cia And Aaa
(6 points) List and define CIA and AAA in your own words.
AAA Stands for Authentication, Authorization, and Accounting. The way I could explain it in my
words is a service that controls who has access to what, letting someone authenticate themselves, once
they are authenticated they can receive authorization to be allowed to change files, depending how
high of an authorization level they have, Ex. Admin. The accounting part of AAA is basically just
gathering up all the information such as user time online, what they have done, changed, basically
anything that happens on a server or a computer network it logs and saves for future use.
CIA Stands for Confidentiality, Integrity and Availability. In my own words it is something like this.
o Confidentiality (C): It is as simple as it sounds to keep information meant for a certain group of
people only for those people. This is done by using usernames and passwords, keeping prying eyes of
people who do not belong in that group out. o Integrity (I): It is how secure or trustworthy a source is.
Looking at data integrity, the integrity of the data is speaking of is that data is original or it has been
changed for malicious intent. It also includes the concepts of origin or source integrity, which looks at
if the content, is actually from the source that it is supposed to come from not from another. For
example if you are downloading a PDF from Microsoft but it is actually from a different source it can

Sex Is While Some Take Sex
Many wonder what sex is while some take sex to an extreme. So let s start with defining sex. people
define Sex in different ways. It can include vaginal, oral, and anal sex. (Source 1) There are many
different ideas of about what sex can be such as Vaginal penis in vagina intercourse, Oral sex mouth to
genital contact, Anal Sex penis in anus intercourse, fingering or handjob hand to genital contact, and
masturbation. Most people are more fond of Vaginal intercourse than any of the other types. Now
everyone knows the simple positions for vaginal intercourse, but what about some of the complex
ones. The more complex ones will get you more aroused but the male will go off quicker though.
Some examples are: the waterfall, the hot seat, spin cycle, stairway to heaven, and the pretzel. (Source
5)
Just like you rely on gestures and surprises in romance, you need to help the excitement alive in bed,
too. Just as sex can become predictable so can foreplay. So here are a few ideas to spice things up: try
things outside the bedroom, sext each other, learn to kiss more passionately, slow down explore each
other s body, and dirty talk to each other. (source 3)
Simple vaginal intercourse is sometimes enough for people but for others not so much. Many people
like Rough sex and prefer it over regular sex. Someone may ask well, What is Rough Sex? Rough Sex
is the type of sex where you involve pain in the sexual act, to increase sexual pleasure! (Source 2) It is
a sexual release

Using Michael Porter s Five Forces model it is possible to gain an understanding of where Virgin
stands in relation to the competition and how it can adjust to increase its competitiveness. The diagram
below is a graphical representation of Porter s model.
Threat of New Entrants
1. Threat of Foreign Carriers Many large foreign airlines are expanding their reach to new market
segments that are likely to encroach on Virgin s market share. Emirates air, Cathay Pacific, and Qatar
airlines have all been successful at stealing market share from their US competitors on domestic and
international routes (Mayerowitz, 2008).
2. Low Cost and Regional Airline Startups Companies like Jet Blue, Ryanair (European), and EasyJet
(AirTran) are all LCC s that have potentially devastating effects on market share for larger more
expensive airlines (The Economist, 2004).
Bargaining Power of Suppliers
1. Fuel Companies Fuel is one of the airline industry s largest variable costs (on average 40% of their
budget). Aside from hedging or put and call options, which can backfire, airlines are at the mercy of
fuel companies and have very little bargaining power (Hargreaves, 2012).
2. Aircraft Manufactures Manufacture rates are typically discounted by

Finding Healing After Injustice in vThe Round House by...
The process of finding healing after injustice is a complex one that draw upon the resources of
community. In her novel The Round House, Louise Erdrich portrays this process from start to finish in
the supporting character Linda Wishkob. Though it is fiction, The Round House combines elements of
injustice and healing in the very real way; Erdrich does not always follow injustice with justice and
justice with healing, rather, it is presented in a way that puts light on Linda Wishkob s negative
experiences while emphasizing proper healing in order to demonstrate the unfairness of reality and the
strength of true family. The Round House puts a steady focus on the maltreatment and abuse of its
characters, most of which can be traced back to a single event in the supporting character, Linda
Wishkob s life. To reveal this original incident, Linda sat down with the protagonist s family to tell her
story, and in part, the story of her brother. She began by disclosing when she faced this first injustice;
it was just moments after she was born. Two minutes behind her twin brother, Linda came into the
world deformed and nearly dead. She states, I then proceeded to die in earnest ... going from a slightly
pink to a dull gray blue, (Erdrich 115). Believing Linda to have cognitive disabilities, her mother said,
Let it die, but a kind nurse choose to clear out the newborn s mouth, enabling her to breath (115).

Decompression Sickness Essay
Decompression sickness also known as the bends is an illness that can affect divers who are in
situations that involve rapidly decreasing pressure around the body. Under any pressure nitrogen and
oxygen is absorbed by the body. When a diver descends in water the pressure around them increases
by 1ATM for every ten metres which means more nitrogen is absorbed than normal. This phenomenon
is explained by Henry s Law. During decent and while divers are on the bottom the diver is
continually absorbing nitrogen into the tissues until the pressure in the tissues is equivalent to the
external pressure of the surroundings. This is when a person s tissues are saturated and cannot absorb
any more nitrogen. When the diver ascends slowly the nitrogen

Examples Of Metaphysical Poetry
The term Metaphysical Poet was first used by John Dryden and later coined by Samuel Johnson in the
20th century. The term was used for the poets of the 17th century, it was a period of intense ferment in
all areas of life religion, science, politics, domestic relations, culture. Metaphysical literally means to
transcend above or beyond the physical world in order to gain perspective. The term permanently got
associated to poets like John Donne, Andrew Marvel, Henry Vaughan, Richard Crashaw, and George
Herbert. Their writings were a deliberate reaction against the 16th century verses which were smooth
and had a sweet tone. The Metaphysical Poets, therefore, adopted an uneven, rigorous and energetic
tone and were concerned with man s experience; ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
They used very vivid imagery in the poems, besides being richly sensuous. For example in The
Bermudas the poet uses the images of the bright oranges that shine in the shade of trees like golden
lamps in a green night . The pomegranates are described richer than the jewels. The islands are
imagined as riding the ocean s bosom . The listening winds receive the song being sung by the
pilgrims. The phrase, the watery maze is by itself admirably as conveying the idea that the pilgrims
could have been lost on the sea, not knowing the direction in which to sail. One of the most vivid
images is that of the whales which seem to carry the ocean upon their backs but which can be
destroyed by the power of God: He the huge sea monsters wracks,/ That lift the deep upon their backs.
The imagery in The Garden is very pastoral, it could be a reference to the garden of Eden. Unlike
other metaphysical poets, Marvell derives some of it from classical reference, such as the myths of
Apollo and Pan. The speaker then presents an image of his soul detaching from his body, but
remaining in the garden. The image suggests that during the soul s time on Earth, it is possible for it to
transcend some of the physical body s limitations, as we see in the speaker s previous contemplation
of a green thought in a green

The Eighth Amendment to the U.S. Constitution Essay
Excessive bail shall not be required, nor excessive fines imposed, nor cruel and unusual punishments
inflicted.
Eighth Amendment, 1791 The Eighth Amendment to the U.S. Constitution limits the punishments that
may be imposed by the government on American citizens. These limits are compulsory among the
states by way of the Fourteenth Amendment. The English Bill of Rights of 1689 expressed concern
with arbitrary and disproportionate sanctions, giving way to the Founders inclusion of the prohibition
against cruel and unusual punishment. To explore the Eighth Amendment it is important to consider
constitutionally accepted punishments, the ever evolving practice of capital punishment, and eighth
amendment protection inside prison walls. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The Supreme Court upholds the Excessive Fines Clause only as it pertains to fines imposed by and
paid directly to the government. The court noted the word fine was understood to mean a payment to a
sovereign as punishment for some offense. ( U.s. constitution: Eight, 2011) Eighth Amendment
protection, therefore, does not extend to the punitive damages imposed by a civil jury in cases
between private parties. The Court has since held in Austin v. United States (1993) that protection
does exist in cases involving civil forfeiture since it is intended as punishment. The prohibition against
cruel and unusual punishment largely concerns itself with disproportionate and arbitrary punishments
imposed by the government. The Court has repeatedly emphasized the Eighth Amendment s expansive
and vital character and its capacity for evolutionary growth. (Kanovitz, 2010) Cruelty is interpreted as
actions that oppose current standards of decency. As public opinion grows and changes these standards
are apt to change. The vague wording of the Eighth Amendment allows room for the opinion of what
punishments are acceptable to adapt to modern times. There has been unrelenting controversy over the
years concerning the constitutionality of matters such as mandatory minimum sentences and three
strikes laws, life without parole for juvenile offenders and capital punishment. Mandatory minimum
sentences began in 1951 when Congress passed the Boggs Act, allowing for tough mandatory

Atheism Essay
Atheism
People in our society today who have the atheist point of view on religion, which is the belief that
there is no god, are going against the so called norms of society, and therefor are seen as deviant.
Deviance is just an idea. Society determines what is deviant by the ideas they hold of what should be
the norm. Atheism is seen as a negative deviance, or below the norm. They have a status that is placed
on them in society. It doesn t necessarily mean that they believe in evil, although that is how it is
sometimes viewed from people in society who have a specific religion or faith. Atheism, which is not
a new idea, has been evolving in our society, and is the reason for problems leading to debate and

But as god beliefs have grown more absurd because of increasing knowledge, some have felt
compelled to point out difficulties with these beliefs. And, as religion has grown more tyrannical,
atheists have seen the need to organize in defense of freedom. Atheism has a long and colorful history,
but that history has been largely hidden from the public s view due to religious suppression. It is
therefore, with great effort, that modern atheists are re discovering their heritage. Some early Greek
philosophers were among the first to write down atheistic ideas. Great thinkers such as Heraclitus,
Democritus, Protagorus, and Lucretius expressed views that questioned the existence of gods. Atheism
gained a permanent foothold in western culture during the Renaissance and through the
Enlightenment. But atheism truly began to thrive around the beginning of the 20th century in what is
called the Freethought movement. Current trends indicate that the popularity of atheism should
continue to increase into the next century.
Sir Thomas Huxley coined the term agnostic in 1869. Popularly the word agnostic is felt to mean that
the nature of god cannot be known but that there is a god. Therefore the agnostic is accepted in the
community and he is accepted by the church, unlike those labeled or known as atheists . Agnosticism
is very closely related to the religious doctrine that the ways of god are incomprehensible, that human
reason is deceptive and that man requires a

Drugs And Drug Development Journey
The unlikely route from inflammation to antipsychotics
The drug development journey leading to olanzapine (Zyprexa) reaching the market did not always
follow the steps of rational drug design. Inspired by the first antipsychotic drugs, it took a while from
the first discovery of antipsychotic drugs until Zyprexa was developed. The first antipsychotics were
come across largely by chance. They were not specifically tailored to a relevant biological effector as
rational drug design promotes. Even now as most drugs, Zyprexa is not quite perfect, it is accused of
side effects such as weight gain and diabetes. But it has proven to be a potent medication for the
treatment of schizophrenia, bipolar disorder and today is also widely used for the treatment of
depression (Perlmultter. 2014).
The story of this drug begins in the streets of Paris (and Lyon) in the 1930s, where the pharma
company Laboratoires Rhône Poulenc (today Sanofi) noticed that the drugs they were developing as
antihistamines also demonstrated relaxant and sedative effects (Shen ,1999; Healy, 2004). Their
observations and research eventually lead to the synthesis of chlorpromazine in 1950, the first drug

Male Dominance In Hamlet Essay
In William Shakespeare s play, Hamlet, each of the male characters, including prince of Denmark,
Hamlet, stand out in different ways with their will, actions, and wishes they would like to take.
However, on the other side, a female character, Ophelia is portrayed as weak character in the male
dominance throughout the play. Through feminist lens to the end of the play the causes of Ophelia s
madness and insanity depicted by her lack standing up for herself in male dominance, Hamlet s
treatment, and the death of her loved father.
Firstly, Ophelia s tendency to be controlled in male dominance shows in the very beginning of the
play Act 1 when her brother, Laertes and her father, Polonius warn of Hamlet s intentions and her
relationship with Hamlet. Before Laertes gets on a ship to France he tells her Hamlet s love is not
permanent, sweet, not lasting, the perfume and suppliance of a minute. No more (1. 3. 8) and
considers his flirtation as a violet in the youth of primy nature (Shakespeare I. iii. 7). Then he warns
her best safety lies in fear (1. 3. 43), Ophelia does not make argument over warning but saying she

Song Analysis Of Black Roses By John Bowen
In Black Roses , Bowen begins the song with piano chords played hard, but with gaps in between.
This is to grab the listeners attention, but at the same time put the emphasis on the words she is
singing. As she is striking these piano chords, she sings You can throw your words sharper than a
knife/And leave me cold/In another house on fire. Her voice is soft and somber. Her tone implies that
she has been defeated by forces beyond her control. The instrumentation at this point in the song is
only the piano and Bowen is forcefully striking the chords. This forcefulness is indicative of the forces
she feels she has been defeated by. What has defeated her is the relationship with her partner. This
relationship has collapsed just as her mother foretold. Bowen chose not to listen to her mother s sage
advice and now must live with the defeat she feels about the failed relationship with her partner as
well as the damage it has caused between Bowen and her mother. The texture is very thin at this point,
with vocals only being accompanied by the piano chords. This thin texture and absence of additional
musical accompaniment indicates the void she feels as a result of what has unfolded. The second verse
of Black Roses starts with Bowen singing the lyrics She told me twice, all her good advice/But I
couldn t see/I was clouded by your lies. The piano remains the only instrumental accompaniment to
Bowen s vocals, but it is now being played much more full and constant. It is

The T-34 Research Paper
The tank was one of the deadliest weapons in World War 2. Over 331,000 tanks were produced during
the war. Most of the countries fighting in the war had tanks, including the British, Americans,
Germans, and the Soviets. All of these countries had tanks that outperformed their other tanks, and
that outperformed the other countries tanks. One of these was the Soviet s T 34.
The T 34 was created to replace the BT series of fast, lightweight tanks. The Soviet realized the BT s
weakness in battle and requested its official replacement in 1937, two years before World War Two.
The T 34 became the most produced tank in the war and is considered to be one of the best tanks in
the war. Jason Belcourt, talking about the T 34, said In 1941 when Hitler launched Barbarossa, the
tank was indisputably the best in the world. The T 34 was able to stop the German advancement into
the Soviet Union and save the country. The T 34 had some flaws though. The sloping armor of the T
34 provided safety from the weak 40 mm guns of the Germans, but the armor made the quarters
cramped and the working conditions poor. To go along with the small size of the tank, the technology
was very outdated. To communicate with the other tanks, a flag system would have to be used. The
aiming systems were also very outdated and couldn t compete ... Show more content on

Theories Of Dyslexia
Drawing on your experience and understanding of the theories of causality of Dyslexia, what types of

Dyslexia according to the Oxford Dictionary is a general term for disorders involving difficulty to
read or interpret words, letters or other symbols, but does not affect general intelligence.
This essay will look at the theories of causality of Dyslexia and what types of behaviour would lead
one to consider that a learner might be Dyslexic.
In my many years of teaching I have come across children with different learning abilities. Some
children have had a weakness in Literacy that required a more individualised approach. Even though
none of them have been diagnosed with Dyslexia, they have helped me gain an understanding of the
challenges they have faced. In working closely with these learners and their therapists I have observed
some of the behaviours explored below. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Men Approaching Death
Do Not Go Gentle into That Good Night by Dylan Thomas describes how men feel when approaching
death. The readers are encouraged to approach death with hesitation because you can offer a lot more
to this world if you have the determination to live longer. Thomas use of literary devices emphasize
this idea and gives examples of how men approach death.
The poem begins with the speaker talking to an unknown listener and ends by telling us that the
unknown listener is the speaker s father. The speaker describes the behaviors of various types of
outstanding men and how they view their lives. Throughout the poem, the speaker encourages the
reader to fight until their last dying breath. Thomas directly relates to this poem because it was written
as he watched his father wither away. This poem symbolizes his father s determination to fight.

Thomas uses the experiences of the noble men in the third stanza to show that they were contempt

men are to rage against the dying of the light as they are on their last wave (9). They reminisce on

India live below the poverty line on about 50 cents a day. It is a high poverty rate, the highest among
all the BRIC countries. In India this problem is growing and becoming more unbalanced. This is an
issue because of the caste system in India. This castes system makes it extremely difficult for one to

The Pros And Cons Of The Nuremberg Code
Tens of thousands of people have been tortured, killed, or experimented on for unfair and unjust
reasons. Some of the people didn t sign up for what they thought it was and were manipulated into the
situations. Others were forced upon the inhuman cruelties that no person should ever have to
endeavor. Without the Nuremberg Code, tons of unethical experiments were being conducted. The
Nuremberg Code is a very important document in regulating all scientific research for the better of
humans now, and in the future.
Without the Nuremberg Code there was many contradictories in the field of science that was cruel to
humanity. For example, many experiments done in the Nazi Experimentations were completely
unnecessary and resulted in tons of deaths. An article about the sun lamp experiment states, The
victims were placed under sunlamps which were so hot they would burn the skin. One young
homosexual victim was repeatedly cooled to unconsciousness then revived with lamps until he was
pouring with sweat. He died one evening after several test sessions ( Medical Experiments ). This
experiment wasn t justified with any reasonable explanation for why it was done. They should of
stopped when he went unconscious the first time instead of continuously torturing him by repeating
the procedure. Another time the Nazi scientists went to far was with the twin cases. The article later
says, After three weeks of tortuous medical examinations they were taken to the dissection laboratory.

The transition between the white autocratic repressive state to an inclusive and democratic black state
was a major turning point in South African history, but the country still faces injustice and corruption
within its government. The one that tackled and failed these challenges was the newly elected African
National Congress. The African National Congress (ANC) was created by the combined efforts of
Thomas Maphikela and Nelson Mendela (Perry). The redistribution programs that the ANC passed
with the good intention of returning money to the people have been exploited by corrupted officials
for personal gain. Little to none of the money that was supposedly for the citizens were pocketed by
corrupted officials. A similar policy that was passed to assist the impoverished was the Black

BEE was a way to address the inequalities that were committed in the apartheid system. It gave people
economic opportunities that were not available to them during the apartheid. The BEE was a failure

Depression is caused by inequalities in societies that directly trickle down to the local people.
Disparities in the application of health care services and other social services have created major gaps
in the society. Ideally, the disparities have trickled down to the lifestyle of different people in the
society and have affected in their mental state to a point that they have been affected by depression.
Depression as a condition is a life threatening condition that affects the mental state of different people

The Evil, Manipulative Character of Cassius in Julius...
William Shakespeare the writer of Julius Caesar decided how Cassius would be portrayed in his play.
In the play, Cassius has an evil, manipulative personality; he can be your friend one minute then
Cassius can be your worst enemy. Although Cassius was not popular with the people of Rome, he
became the ringleader of the conspirators.
Cassius displays the personality of a shrewd opportunist, who doesn t believe in the rule of one
person. He believes there should be an elected set of officials; to decide on the laws for Rome. He
resides as a very close friend to Julius Caesar, before he became the Roman king. Cassius played a
large role in the assassination of Julius Caesar (I.ii.90 115). When Julius Caesar became godlike to the
roman people, Cassius had much dislike toward Julius. He thought that Julius appeared too
incompetent and weak to the point of embarrassment, and wanted him removed from the throne. In the
play, Cassius manipulates Brutus into thinking that Caesar has become too powerful and that he
needed to be killed. He also uses flattery to sway Brutus into becoming part of his plan (I.ii.48 51).
Cassius tricked Brutus into finally believing the Roman people wanted Caesar dead by forging letters
from the people that do convey these thoughts (I.iii.142 148). He also made Brutus feel like it was his
civic duty to the Roman people. Cassius seems like just a very evil or cruel man, he committed suicide

All Men Are Created Equal
In the United States Declaration of Independence, the phrase, All men are created equal is a phrase
people refer to, when dealing with equality in America. A feature through the different selections in
American Dreams is equality because America is a place where everyone has the same opportunity to
achieve anything. Equality and opportunity given to people has evolved since the founding fathers, but
there s been stages in America s history where equality is only given to specific people, not everyone.
Equality and opportunity are elements in involved in the song, This Land is Your Land, by Woody
Guthrie. Everyone who is born in America has an equal opportunity to do anything in mind. Woody
Guthrie writes, As I was walking that ribbon of highway I saw above me that endless skyway, I saw
below me that golden valleys: This land for you and me (Guthrie 54). In other words, Guthrie said it
does not matter what a person s situation may be. Whether a person is poor or wealthy the opportunity
for them to be successful is there for the taking. Despite a person s background, he or she has the
opportunity to have any career or lifestyle he or she wants. Being born to Mexican parents who do not
have any education and work in labor jobs does not prohibit me from trying to achieve my dreams.
The equality given to Americans is the same, whether a child is born to famous celebrity or to a poor
person and should have no effect on his or her equality with others. If a celebrity

Designing Projects for the Public
Thousands people all over the world share their ideas to create future projects and that project is in art
and animation. It is really wise to start from the very beginning. The process of creating or even
preparing for a big project takes time. In order to make a character or idea come to life one needs the
right tools. This is where the skills in art come in, basically the fun part. Everyone would like to see
their ideas come to life and sharing it with the public. Soon this will lead any person to create a project
that involves gaming and animated television shows. Before starting a project there are a few things a
person may need. A character may be the important thing but there are other factors that are far more
important. What would the character do or what environment would it be placed in? The Developer
also has to think about the storyboard which involves writing. Every project needs to start with a story
(How a Game pg.1). A person can make up their own story and can also receive help from anyone
assisting in the project. Everyone may be inspired by something they have seen which gives them
many ideas for a good story. it is important for the team to come up with a decision so they can know
what fits. Once it is decided the team will start to work on the storyboard (How a Game pg.2).

Samalan Christmas Religion
In Spain, Samana Santa is the most spectacular one week celebration of Easter that I have ever seen. It
is a week of celebration leading to Easter weekend. Although it is celebrated all over the Spain, the
one in Seville is one of the most elaborate ones. It is very normal to experience cultural shock when
living in a different country, but during this week, I experienced one of the greatest cultural shocks.
Although I thoroughly enjoyed the processions and learning about the history and the reasoning
behind them, I was shocked to see the costumes of the people who took part in the religious
processions. Samana Santa, known as the Holy Week in English, consists of religious processions

After researching and talking to the Sevillanos, I found that the Nazarenos have been dressing like this
for more than 500 years, which is well before KKK originated. There is no defined link between the
two, but there is a possibility that one of the KKK members must have witnessed the Samana Santa
parade and gotten inspired by their costume. Unlike KKK, there is a very religious reason behind why
the Nazarenos dress up like that. Walking for about eight hours in the burning sun, while wearing that
costume is a sign of penance. They cover their faces in mourning and as a sign that they are shameful
for the sins that they have committed. On the morning of Easter Sunday, they remove their head
covers to mark the end of the mourning. After learning about the reason behind this costume and the
tradition associated with it, I think it is shame to associate this sacred event with the

Human Nutrition And Its Effects On The Health Of Obese People
Human nutrition is one of the vital topics discussed in the fields of health, largely because a diet
predicts the well being of the human species. Recently, Americans have been eating a particularly
hurtful diet, deficient in nutrients needed to maintain a healthy physiological state. A steady increase
of obese and overweight people developed over the course of the last century to present day, and the
issue has only recently gained the attention of the public. The cause for concern is due to the health of
obese people. They have an increased risk for health complications such as diabetes, high blood
pressure, stroke, cardiac arrest, hypertension, coronary heart disease, cancer (specifically endometrial,
kidney, and gallbladder), etc (Head 1 2). Obesity and overweight are ways to define a person with
more than normal body fat, which is measured on the body mass index chart (Harvard School of
Public Health). According to the Centers of Disease Control, an adult with a BMI between 25 kg/m2
and 29.9 kg/m2 is labeled overweight, making a BMI of over 30 kg/m2 the label for obesity. In
children, overweight falls between the 85th and 95th percentile of BMI, with obesity being over the
95th percentile (CDC). In 2012, a total of 68.5% of the adult population is either obese or overweight,
and the same qualifies for 16.9% of children (The State of Obesity). Despite the risks associated with
an excessive weight, obesity rates have yet to significantly decline for all age groups, and the

The Cold Equations And Tom Godwin s Of Mice And Men
Even out in space like in Tom Godwin s Cold Equations, problems can present themselves, and
characters soon figure out something significant. They open their eyes, in a way, and change because
of it. The theme that someone has to open their eyes to see the bigger picture is shown in Tom Godwin
s The Cold Equations, Morley Callaghan s All the Years of Her Life, How Far She Went by Mary
Hood, and John Steinbeck s Of Mice And Men.
Opening one s eyes to the bigger picture is shown in The Cold Equations by the teenage girl in the
story. She was discovered on the EDS as a stowaway, and because of the specific amount of fuel that
the ship is loaded with, any stowaway has to be jettisoned from the ship. She did not know this, and is
devastated when she realizes what has to happen. The story says, She walked with her head up and the

This girl wants to get away from her grandmother, and does so by getting with a biker. Realizing what
she d let happen, the grandmother goes after the girl, and is able to track her down. She is eventually
able to get the girl back, but the biker and his friend chase after them with an intention to kill. The
girls and their dog escape and are able to hide. In order to protect her granddaughter, the grandmother
drowns the beloved dog. The story says, And she said again, It was him or you. I know that (415).
This is saying that the grandmother knew that she was either going to lose her dog or her
granddaughter, and that the girl was more important. This opens the girls eyes to the fact that her
grandmother truly does love her and that any hatred between them is useless to think about. This
changes the girl s view of her grandmother, likely forever. The last story that contains the stated theme

Young Actors And Actors Essay
Young actors and actresses are some of the most famous people in the world. They are idolized by
millions of fans across the world, who look to them as a role model for them or their children. As
young actors start to gain more fame, the public eye on that person starts to get larger and larger as
people wait for that person to make a mistake. When that person finally does make a mistake, the
media starts criticizing that person which can hurt his or her public perception. While it is damaging to
that person, it is important to hold all young actors and actresses to a high standard. All young actors
and actresses should be held to a higher standard than ordinary people because they are always in the
public eye. All young actors and actresses have a great talent, and some use that talent to star in some
of the biggest and most watched television series and movies. These shows are usually watched by
millions of people across the world and can cause some of them to look at these young actors and
actresses in a completely different light. Some people (especially young people) can start to follow
their favorite young actors and actresses careers very closely and even look to them as a role model.
They even start to look toward their favorite young actors and actresses to see what is popular to wear,
watch on television, and even how they should act. That is why young actors and actresses are held to
a higher standard because they do influence people on how to act in their

Into Thin Air Jon Krakauer
The book Into Thin Air written by Jon Krakauer, is about a man climbing the highest mountain,
Everest. This is the first person view of the deadly Everest disaster. This non fiction book shows the
condition of how bad the conditions are in Everest and how hard it is to climb and survive. Jon
Krakauer shows the amazing and dark side of Everest and how it swallows human life. He shows how
hard it is to climb Everest and shows that it s no walk in the park. He shows his struggles going up the
mountain and the struggles of others from being oxygen deprived (which causes the body to eat itself),
to dangerous gusts of winds to diseases they have contracted in Nepal. This make s the climb much
harder for the team. This shows how much endurance, strength,

Analysis Of A Prayer For Owen Meany
In A Prayer for Owen Meany by John Irving, John Wheelwright is the narrator of a memoir to Owen
Meany in which John relives his childhood with Owen Meany, and shows how his friendship with
Owen shaped who he was then and who he is now. John is my favorite character in the book mostly
because it s easy to feel bad for him. He experiences a ton of trauma in his childhood and still feels the
effects from it as an adult. He grows up not knowing who his father was, then he loses his mother and
his best friend. As a result, he is the character that attracts the most sympathy in the story. John
Wheelwright lives in Toronto, Canada and works as a school teacher. John was born into the
Wheelwright family, a well known family in Gravesend, New Hampshire. ... Show more content on

The first conflict John faces is the loss of his mother. Tabby s death both angers and upsets John. In
any case, losing your mother is a horrible. It was especially unfortunate for John because he has no
idea who his true father is. He is irritated that she never even got around to telling him who his real
father is. It even makes him more resentful when he finds out she lived sort of a second life as The
Lady in Red . The most tragic of John s experiences is the sacrificial death of Owen Meany. John is
absolutely traumatized by the death of Owen. Owen s death is the reason John lives in Canada, hates
America, and is stuck in the past. John still hasn t even come close to getting over Owen s death, and
he never will. John even ends his memoir with O God please give him back I shall keep asking You!
(617). The trauma John has gone through has even damaged him sexualy. He is still a virgin and has
never felt sexual desire. Katherine s husband describes him as a non practicing homosexual but he
believes that his problems are caused by his

Importance Of Command Relationship
Army Command Relationships
To understand command relationships one must first understand the organizational structure of the
Armed forces leadership and key terms that communicate authority and the relationships derived from
the structured authority. In a post Katrina analysis of the military role in domestic emergencies it is
necessary to understand how the military command relationships delineate authority, responsibility,
and accountability for force protection and execution of the collective mission, by defining command,
command relationships, and understanding the four levels of authority to building efficient and
effective organizations facilitating mission execution.
Command
Command is essential to all military action, and unity of command is significant to agreement of
effort. Department of Defense units are structured under the authority of one senior command element,
which disseminates operational and mission guidance. Integral to military command is the authority a
military commander exercises over subordinates and assigned missions. The commander is ultimately
accountable for successful completion of all apportioned military missions, readiness of service
members as well as the readiness of all assigned equipment. Commanders may assign a designated
representative, granting authority to act on behalf of the commander to accomplish assigned missions.
However, according to the Joint Chiefs of Staff Joint Publication 1 02 (2017) the delegation in no way

The Importance Of Human Relationship For Both Kai And Tamili
1) The duty to protect the well being of Kai versus importance of human relationship for both Kai and
Tamili. I chose this as the ethical problem because it seems as though Kai could use some help with
her well being. She has a lot on her plate with being in a strong recovery from bi polar (I) disorder, her
husband being deployed for the four time to Iraq, she has had suicidal ideation two within the past
month, trying to take on a new job as a principal, and in sessions she becomes stressed very easily and
shuts down. I ve noticed when Kai gets stressed in family session Tamili will get very angry. Kai
being stressed could be causing Tamili to act out in school and receive bad grades. This is why I chose
the importance of human relationship as the other problem. Kai and Tamili have bonded very well but
with Kai being so stressed lately it could be affect Tamili s performances at school. Tamili has been
bulling others at school, has low grades, and is being very disrespectful to her teachers.
2) a. I would want to ask Kai s close friends and family how she is currently handling life. With her
fiancé being deployed, with the possibly of become a school principle and Tamili not preforming well
in school. Asking the person who is mentoring Kai for the school principal position how Kai seems to
take on the workload. Is Kai stressed when more work is given to her, does she take on any work troth
at her to distract her from other things. I would then want to ask Kai how Tamili is

Figurative Language In The Poem Juggler By Richard Wilbur
The poem Juggler by Richard Wilbur uses poetic devices such as alliteration, imagery, descriptive
language, and figurative language. Through these devices, the speaker s great respect and admiration
for the juggler described is revealed. The first stanza contains examples of figurative language and
imagery which reveal the speaker s respect for the juggler. Wilbur uses figurative language and
compares a ball to the earth, saying Falling is what it loves, and the earth falls/ so in our hearts from
brilliance,/ Settles and is forgot. (Line 3 5). The author also uses colorful, bright imagery to describe
the juggler, saying It takes a sky blue juggler with five red balls/ To shake our gravity up. (Lines 6 7).
The combination of this figurative language, along with the colorful, bright, and positive imagery used
to describe the juggler, reveal the speaker s admiration of the juggler. According to the speaker, the
earth becomes forgotten and falls, like a ball, from our hearts and attention. The juggler is able to
shake our gravity up and reinvoke excitement in wonder in the audience s hearts and minds through
juggling. The bright, colorful imagery paints the juggler in a positive light, revealing the speaker s
respect and admiration for them. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Wilbur describes the juggler in action: Whee, in the air/ The balls roll round, wheel on his wheeling
hands, (Lines 7 8). Alliteration is used in this line to depict the quick, deft movements of the juggler s
hands. This use of alliteration reveals that the speaker admires the juggler s skill. To the speaker, the
juggler s juggling appears as a small heaven about his ears (Line 12). Describing the juggling as a
small heaven depicts the action as beautiful and pure, traits which usually deem something worthy of
admiration and

Samuel Barber Piano Noted to be one of Samuel Barber s most popular piano works, acclaimed pianist Vladimir Horowitz called Sonata for Piano, op. 26 the first truly great native work in the form and premiered the sonata, sparking it s rise to fame. Barber was a friend and fan of Horowitz, and found compositional inspiration through Horowitz s playing by implementing wide pallets of color, flexible tempo changes, and huge sonorities. In addition, Horowitz found Barber to be one of the few American composers who knows how to write for the piano. It is known for having many staggering several key and time signature changes and rhythmic figurations that mostly consist of dotted 8ths and 16ths, triplets, and groups of 16ths while contrasting with very mysterious sounding lyrical themes in between. These alternations are very unpredictable and constantly keep the listener guessing. The second movement, which is in rondo form, maintains the mysteriousness of the first movement, but maintains a very playful and mischievous attitude, rather than an intense and fiery one. It keeps flowing and flowing like water without stopping to slow down once, all while maneuvering between double and triple meter and skipping around the range of the keyboard. • 5. Community Is The Goal Oriented Community A community is an interacting group of various species and abiotic things that live within the same location. Each community is different due to being comprised of unique organisms and inanimate objects. The basic unit of community relies on survival. As stated by de Waal, the primate community is a prime example which displays how we perform innate behaviors to ensure our survival. The next level of community is the goal oriented community. Goal oriented communities strive to bring about change in their communities whether it be for better or worse. The goal oriented community can be allotted into different categories. One type of an ambitious community is that of associations as described by Tocqueville. The other goal oriented community is that of the revolutionary community. This community attempts to raise awareness about injustice found in a community and urges that members of the community fight to make injustice cease to exist. The final stage of community ends with the community that cares for the environment as a whole. Not only does it care for the living things that reside in the community, but it appreciates the nonliving things that are found in the community as well. The nature loving community recognizes that everything within the community is necessary to have and to care for. Each of these communities start with having the need for survival but become more complex until they are able to incorporate love in their communities. The foundation for most ... The way I could explain it in my words is a service that controls who has access to what, letting someone authenticate themselves, once they are authenticated they can receive authorization to be allowed to change files, depending how high of an authorization level they have, Ex. Admin. The accounting part of AAA is basically just gathering up all the information such as user time online, what they have done, changed, basically anything that happens on a server or a computer network it logs and saves for future use. CIA Stands for Confidentiality, Integrity and Availability. In my own words it is something like this. o Confidentiality (C): It is as simple as it sounds to keep information meant for a certain group of people only for those people. This is done by using usernames and passwords, keeping prying eyes of people who do not belong in that group out. o Integrity (I): It is how secure or trustworthy a source is. Looking at data integrity, the integrity of the data is speaking of is that data is original or it has been changed for malicious intent. It also includes the concepts of origin or source integrity, which looks at if the content, is actually from the source that it is supposed to come from not from another. • 15. Finding Healing After Injustice in vThe Round House by... The process of finding healing after injustice is a complex one that draw upon the resources of community. In her novel The Round House, Louise Erdrich portrays this process from start to finish in the supporting character Linda Wishkob. Though it is fiction, The Round House combines elements of injustice and healing in the very real way; Erdrich does not always follow injustice with justice and justice with healing, rather, it is presented in a way that puts light on Linda Wishkob s negative experiences while emphasizing proper healing in order to demonstrate the unfairness of reality and the strength of true family. The Round House puts a steady focus on the maltreatment and abuse of its characters, most of which can be traced back to a single event in the supporting character, Linda Wishkob s life. To reveal this original incident, Linda sat down with the protagonist s family to tell her story, and in part, the story of her brother. She began by disclosing when she faced this first injustice; it was just moments after she was born. Two minutes behind her twin brother, Linda came into the world deformed and nearly dead. She states, I then proceeded to die in earnest ... going from a slightly pink to a dull gray blue, (Erdrich 115). Under any pressure nitrogen and oxygen is absorbed by the body. When a diver descends in water the pressure around them increases by 1ATM for every ten metres which means more nitrogen is absorbed than normal. This phenomenon is explained by Henry s Law. During decent and while divers are on the bottom the diver is continually absorbing nitrogen into the tissues until the pressure in the tissues is equivalent to the external pressure of the surroundings. The term was used for the poets of the 17th century, it was a period of intense ferment in all areas of life religion, science, politics, domestic relations, culture. Metaphysical literally means to transcend above or beyond the physical world in order to gain perspective. The term permanently got associated to poets like John Donne, Andrew Marvel, Henry Vaughan, Richard Crashaw, and George Herbert. They used very vivid imagery in the poems, besides being richly sensuous. For example in The Bermudas the poet uses the images of the bright oranges that shine in the shade of trees like golden lamps in a green night . The pomegranates are described richer than the jewels. The islands are imagined as riding the ocean s bosom . The listening winds receive the song being sung by the pilgrims. The phrase, the watery maze is by itself admirably as conveying the idea that the pilgrims could have been lost on the sea, not knowing the direction in which to sail. One of the most vivid images is that of the whales which seem to carry the ocean upon their backs but which can be destroyed by the power of God: He the huge sea monsters wracks,/ That lift the deep upon their backs. The imagery in The Garden is very pastoral, it could be a reference to the garden of Eden. Unlike other metaphysical poets, Marvell derives some of it from classical reference, such as the myths of Apollo and Pan. The speaker then presents an image of his soul detaching from his body, but remaining in the garden. The image suggests that during the soul s time on Earth, it is possible for it to transcend some of the physical body s limitations, as we see in the speaker s previous contemplation of a green thought in a green ... Eighth Amendment, 1791 The Eighth Amendment to the U.S. Constitution limits the punishments that may be imposed by the government on American citizens. These limits are compulsory among the states by way of the Fourteenth Amendment. The English Bill of Rights of 1689 expressed concern with arbitrary and disproportionate sanctions, giving way to the Founders inclusion of the prohibition against cruel and unusual punishment. The court noted the word fine was understood to mean a payment to a sovereign as punishment for some offense. ( U.s. constitution: Eight, 2011) Eighth Amendment protection, therefore, does not extend to the punitive damages imposed by a civil jury in cases between private parties. The Court has since held in Austin v. United States (1993) that protection does exist in cases involving civil forfeiture since it is intended as punishment. The prohibition against cruel and unusual punishment largely concerns itself with disproportionate and arbitrary punishments imposed by the government. The Court has repeatedly emphasized the Eighth Amendment s expansive and vital character and its capacity for evolutionary growth. (Kanovitz, 2010) Cruelty is interpreted as actions that oppose current standards of decency. As public opinion grows and changes these standards are apt to change. The vague wording of the Eighth Amendment allows room for the opinion of what punishments are acceptable to adapt to modern times. Atheism Essay Atheism People in our society today who have the atheist point of view on religion, which is the belief that there is no god, are going against the so called norms of society, and therefor are seen as deviant. Deviance is just an idea. Society determines what is deviant by the ideas they hold of what should be the norm. Atheism is seen as a negative deviance, or below the norm. They have a status that is placed on them in society. It doesn t necessarily mean that they believe in evil, although that is how it is sometimes viewed from people in society who have a specific religion or faith. But as god beliefs have grown more absurd because of increasing knowledge, some have felt compelled to point out difficulties with these beliefs. And, as religion has grown more tyrannical, atheists have seen the need to organize in defense of freedom. Atheism has a long and colorful history, but that history has been largely hidden from the public s view due to religious suppression. It is therefore, with great effort, that modern atheists are re discovering their heritage. Some early Greek philosophers were among the first to write down atheistic ideas. Great thinkers such as Heraclitus, Democritus, Protagorus, and Lucretius expressed views that questioned the existence of gods. Atheism gained a permanent foothold in western culture during the Renaissance and through the Enlightenment. But atheism truly began to thrive around the beginning of the 20th century in what is called the Freethought movement. Current trends indicate that the popularity of atheism should continue to increase into the next century. Sir Thomas Huxley coined the term agnostic in 1869. Popularly the word agnostic is felt to mean that the nature of god cannot be known but that there is a god. Therefore the agnostic is accepted in the community and he is accepted by the church, unlike those labeled or known as atheists . Agnosticism is very closely related to the religious doctrine that the ways of god are incomprehensible, that human reason is deceptive and that man requires a ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 22. Drugs And Drug Development Journey The unlikely route from inflammation to antipsychotics The drug development journey leading to olanzapine (Zyprexa) reaching the market did not always follow the steps of rational drug design. Inspired by the first antipsychotic drugs, it took a while from the first discovery of antipsychotic drugs until Zyprexa was developed. The first antipsychotics were come across largely by chance. They were not specifically tailored to a relevant biological effector as rational drug design promotes. Even now as most drugs, Zyprexa is not quite perfect, it is accused of side effects such as weight gain and diabetes. But it has proven to be a potent medication for the treatment of schizophrenia, bipolar disorder and today is also widely used for the treatment of depression (Perlmultter. 2014). The story of this drug begins in the streets of Paris (and Lyon) in the 1930s, where the pharma company Laboratoires Rhône Poulenc (today Sanofi) noticed that the drugs they were developing as antihistamines also demonstrated relaxant and sedative effects (Shen ,1999; Healy, 2004). Their observations and research eventually lead to the synthesis of chlorpromazine in 1950, the first drug with specific antipsychotic action (Yuhas, 2013). Chlorpromazine was the first so called typical/first generation antipsychotic drug, introduced to the market in 1952. • 24. Song Analysis Of Black Roses By John Bowen In Black Roses , Bowen begins the song with piano chords played hard, but with gaps in between. This is to grab the listeners attention, but at the same time put the emphasis on the words she is singing. As she is striking these piano chords, she sings You can throw your words sharper than a knife/And leave me cold/In another house on fire. Her voice is soft and somber. Her tone implies that she has been defeated by forces beyond her control. The instrumentation at this point in the song is only the piano and Bowen is forcefully striking the chords. This forcefulness is indicative of the forces she feels she has been defeated by. What has defeated her is the relationship with her partner. This relationship has collapsed just as her mother foretold. Bowen chose not to listen to her mother s sage advice and now must live with the defeat she feels about the failed relationship with her partner as well as the damage it has caused between Bowen and her mother. The texture is very thin at this point, with vocals only being accompanied by the piano chords. This thin texture and absence of additional musical accompaniment indicates the void she feels as a result of what has unfolded. The second verse of Black Roses starts with Bowen singing the lyrics She told me twice, all her good advice/But I couldn t see/I was clouded by your lies. The piano remains the only instrumental accompaniment to Bowen s vocals, but it is now being played much more full and constant. It is ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Most of the countries fighting in the war had tanks, including the British, Americans, Germans, and the Soviets. All of these countries had tanks that outperformed their other tanks, and that outperformed the other countries tanks. One of these was the Soviet s T 34. The T 34 was created to replace the BT series of fast, lightweight tanks. The Soviet realized the BT s weakness in battle and requested its official replacement in 1937, two years before World War Two. The T 34 became the most produced tank in the war and is considered to be one of the best tanks in the war. Jason Belcourt, talking about the T 34, said In 1941 when Hitler launched Barbarossa, the tank was indisputably the best in the world. The T 34 was able to stop the German advancement into the Soviet Union and save the country. The T 34 had some flaws though. The sloping armor of the T 34 provided safety from the weak 40 mm guns of the Germans, but the armor made the quarters cramped and the working conditions poor. Woody Guthrie writes, As I was walking that ribbon of highway I saw above me that endless skyway, I saw below me that golden valleys: This land for you and me (Guthrie 54). In other words, Guthrie said it does not matter what a person s situation may be. Whether a person is poor or wealthy the opportunity for them to be successful is there for the taking. Despite a person s background, he or she has the opportunity to have any career or lifestyle he or she wants. Being born to Mexican parents who do not have any education and work in labor jobs does not prohibit me from trying to achieve my dreams. The equality given to Americans is the same, whether a child is born to famous celebrity or to a poor person and should have no effect on his or her equality with others. If a celebrity ... Designing Projects For The Public Joseph Wiley English IV Mrs. Daly 18 November, 2016 Designing Projects for the Public Thousands people all over the world share their ideas to create future projects and that project is in art and animation. It is really wise to start from the very beginning. The process of creating or even preparing for a big project takes time. In order to make a character or idea come to life one needs the right tools. This is where the skills in art come in, basically the fun part. Everyone would like to see their ideas come to life and sharing it with the public. Soon this will lead any person to create a project that involves gaming and animated television shows. Before starting a project there are a few things a person may need. A character may be the important thing but there are other factors that are far more important. What would the character do or what environment would it be placed in? The Developer also has to think about the storyboard which involves writing. Every project needs to start with a story (How a Game pg.1). A person can make up their own story and can also receive help from anyone assisting in the project. Everyone may be inspired by something they have seen which gives them many ideas for a good story. it is important for the team to come up with a decision so they can know what fits. Once it is decided the team will start to work on the storyboard (How a Game pg.2). ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 42. Samalan Christmas Religion In Spain, Samana Santa is the most spectacular one week celebration of Easter that I have ever seen. It is a week of celebration leading to Easter weekend. Although it is celebrated all over the Spain, the one in Seville is one of the most elaborate ones. It is very normal to experience cultural shock when living in a different country, but during this week, I experienced one of the greatest cultural shocks. Although I thoroughly enjoyed the processions and learning about the history and the reasoning behind them, I was shocked to see the costumes of the people who took part in the religious processions. Samana Santa, known as the Holy Week in English, consists of religious processions every day. It is a time when the devotees recognize and repent for their wrongdoings, reflecting the fact that Jesus Christ died on the cross to save them. People from various brotherhoods called the cofradias, participate in the processions. In Seville, there are 55 ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... After researching and talking to the Sevillanos, I found that the Nazarenos have been dressing like this for more than 500 years, which is well before KKK originated. There is no defined link between the two, but there is a possibility that one of the KKK members must have witnessed the Samana Santa parade and gotten inspired by their costume. Unlike KKK, there is a very religious reason behind why the Nazarenos dress up like that. Walking for about eight hours in the burning sun, while wearing that costume is a sign of penance. They cover their faces in mourning and as a sign that they are shameful for the sins that they have committed. On the morning of Easter Sunday, they remove their head covers to mark the end of the mourning. After learning about the reason behind this costume and the tradition associated with it, I think it is shame to associate this sacred event with the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 43. Human Nutrition And Its Effects On The Health Of Obese People Human nutrition is one of the vital topics discussed in the fields of health, largely because a diet predicts the well being of the human species. Recently, Americans have been eating a particularly hurtful diet, deficient in nutrients needed to maintain a healthy physiological state. A steady increase of obese and overweight people developed over the course of the last century to present day, and the issue has only recently gained the attention of the public. The cause for concern is due to the health of obese people. They have an increased risk for health complications such as diabetes, high blood pressure, stroke, cardiac arrest, hypertension, coronary heart disease, cancer (specifically endometrial, kidney, and gallbladder), etc (Head 1 2). Obesity and overweight are ways to define a person with more than normal body fat, which is measured on the body mass index chart (Harvard School of Public Health). According to the Centers of Disease Control, an adult with a BMI between 25 kg/m2 and 29.9 kg/m2 is labeled overweight, making a BMI of over 30 kg/m2 the label for obesity. In children, overweight falls between the 85th and 95th percentile of BMI, with obesity being over the 95th percentile (CDC). In 2012, a total of 68.5% of the adult population is either obese or overweight, and the same qualifies for 16.9% of children (The State of Obesity). Despite the risks associated with an excessive weight, obesity rates have yet to significantly decline for all age groups, and the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The theme that someone has to open their eyes to see the bigger picture is shown in Tom Godwin s The Cold Equations, Morley Callaghan s All the Years of Her Life, How Far She Went by Mary Hood, and John Steinbeck s Of Mice And Men. Opening one s eyes to the bigger picture is shown in The Cold Equations by the teenage girl in the story. She was discovered on the EDS as a stowaway, and because of the specific amount of fuel that the ship is loaded with, any stowaway has to be jettisoned from the ship. • 47. Analysis Of A Prayer For Owen Meany In A Prayer for Owen Meany by John Irving, John Wheelwright is the narrator of a memoir to Owen Meany in which John relives his childhood with Owen Meany, and shows how his friendship with Owen shaped who he was then and who he is now. John is my favorite character in the book mostly because it s easy to feel bad for him. He experiences a ton of trauma in his childhood and still feels the effects from it as an adult. He grows up not knowing who his father was, then he loses his mother and his best friend. As a result, he is the character that attracts the most sympathy in the story. John Wheelwright lives in Toronto, Canada and works as a school teacher. John was born into the Wheelwright family, a well known family in Gravesend, New Hampshire. ... It was especially unfortunate for John because he has no idea who his true father is. He is irritated that she never even got around to telling him who his real father is. It even makes him more resentful when he finds out she lived sort of a second life as The Lady in Red . The most tragic of John s experiences is the sacrificial death of Owen Meany. John is absolutely traumatized by the death of Owen. Owen s death is the reason John lives in Canada, hates America, and is stuck in the past. John still hasn t even come close to getting over Owen s death, and he never will. John even ends his memoir with O God please give him back I shall keep asking You! (617). • 49. The Importance Of Human Relationship For Both Kai And Tamili 1) The duty to protect the well being of Kai versus importance of human relationship for both Kai and Tamili. I chose this as the ethical problem because it seems as though Kai could use some help with her well being. She has a lot on her plate with being in a strong recovery from bi polar (I) disorder, her husband being deployed for the four time to Iraq, she has had suicidal ideation two within the past month, trying to take on a new job as a principal, and in sessions she becomes stressed very easily and shuts down. I ve noticed when Kai gets stressed in family session Tamili will get very angry. Kai being stressed could be causing Tamili to act out in school and receive bad grades. This is why I chose the importance of human relationship as the other problem. Kai and Tamili have bonded very well but with Kai being so stressed lately it could be affect Tamili s performances at school. Tamili has been bulling others at school, has low grades, and is being very disrespectful to her teachers. 2) a. I would want to ask Kai s close friends and family how she is currently handling life. With her fiancé being deployed, with the possibly of become a school principle and Tamili not preforming well in school. Asking the person who is mentoring Kai for the school principal position how Kai seems to take on the workload. Is Kai stressed when more work is given to her, does she take on any work troth at her to distract her from other things. I would then want to ask Kai how Tamili is ...
