Hatshepsut s Accomplishments
For over 22 years, the most powerful man in all of ancient Egypt was, in fact, a woman. That woman
was Pharaoh Hatshepsut, one of the first female pharaohs in Egypt s long history. During her reign she
built great monuments both in Egypt and Nubia. Egypt also thrived while she ruled, proving that she
was a strong and powerful leader even though she was a woman instead of a man. Hatshepsut was an
amazing woman who had some incredible accomplishments.
Rising to Power
One of Hatshepsut s greatest accomplishments was simply becoming pharaoh as a woman. Since her
birth, Hatshepsut had always had some power. Her parents were Thutmose I and his main wife,
Ahmose, so she was part of the royal family (Ross). Then, she was married to her half brother,

Mattel Mattel Strategic Plan
Customer focused strategic planning not always prevent issues from occurring like with Mattel, the
company is still suffering from the seriousness of product recall issues (Ferrell Hartline, 2014).
Despite Mattel s best efforts not all manufacturing companies overseas are keeping up with Mattel s
high standards (Ferrell Hartline, 2014). China s manufacturing companies say that Mattel is not
providing quality toy plans (Ferrell Hartline, 2014). Regardless of who is right or wrong, the
responsibility falls on Mattel, the name on the toy (Ferrell Hartline, 2014). Mattel is responsible for
holding their manufacturing companies to high standards (Ferrell Hartline, 2014). Unfortunately, not
every product produced is going to succeed when it comes to the safety of children (Ferrell Hartline,
2014). However, the responsibility lies on Mattel to test all products before and after manufacturing
(Ferrell Hartline, 2014). Skipping on cost can end up costing an organization in the long run with
recalls (Ferrell Hartline, 2014). The power is in the hands of the consumer to read up on these toys for
safety before buying (Ferrell Hartline, 2014). The consumer is also responsible for only buying age
appropriate toys for their children (Ferrell Hartline, 2014).
Mattel s tactical plan is to provide safe, affordable, toys that turn a financial profit (Mukherjee Pandit,
2009). Next, Mattel wants to adhere to consumers needs and wants by providing safe, age appropriate
toys

Leibniz Ontology
Ontology: On the Existence of God Does God exist? , a question that mankind has been asking itself
for thousands of years. Even the brightest minds the world has ever known have struggled with this
topic. Thousands of papers, essays, and full fledged books have been written offering arguments and
reasons both for and against the existence of a divine creator. One of the more popular arguments
against his existence claims that an all powerful, loving God would not allow evil to be in the world.
The reasoning being that if God truly is all powerful and loving, then he would only choose the best in
making the world. On the surface this seems like a reasonably strong argument, but there are some
gray areas which leave room for interpretation. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Since we do not live in a world free of suffering then God must not be omnipotent, omniscient or
loving. Now if God created man, and man is born into sin, then God s creation is flawed and he is
therefore imperfect, correct? Not necessarily. As we discussed earlier in the paper, suffering is
necessary for spiritual and moral growth. The Christian belief dictates that God created man to
worship him, and yet man would have no reason to worship and bow down to a higher power if he did
not need deliverance from his sins. God s grace and forgiveness is what drives us to

Tara Compare And Contrast
A deeper understanding can be gained by comparing the similarities and differences between different
artworks of a similar era and/or similar subjects. By bringing artworks together and comparing them
side by side it is easier to see what the artwork is trying to convey. There are many different pieces of
art that depict the Goddess Tara. By having an exhibition that contains the Goddess Tara in her green
manifestation, Tara, and Yellow Tara a viewer would be able to easily compare the three art works.
Although no two are alike, there are key similarities and differences that can be seen throughout the
different time periods and regions that the artwork came out of. The grouping of these three artworks
would help the viewer see the similarities and differences in pose, medium, facial ... Show more

She is the most important goddess in Buddhism. She is also seen as a savior and female counterpart of
the Bodhisattva. Her worship reflects the combination of ancient, mother goddess cults and Buddhism.
She can be depicted and defined by many different visual aspects. One of the ways the Goddess Tara
changes depending on what depiction you view is what color her skin is. The color of Tara usually
gives an indication to her mood. She is also seen depicted with different surroundings in one aspect
she is surrounded by the Goddess of Dawn and the Protector against evil while in another depiction
she might stand alone. These interpretations are representative on the art from that region and time
period. Although she might have changing surroundings, as you can see by the three different
artworks, Tara is usually placed seated on a pedestal in a very specific pose with her one leg crossed,
she is usually wearing a crown and jewelry. These are all good indicators that we are viewing the
Goddess Tara. When different representations of her are brought together, it makes the view see the
difference in techniques that have been used to represent

My Personal Philosophy Of Classroom Management Plan
Classroom Management Plan
A well organized classroom management plan will be effective in creating a positive classroom
environment which can help to activate students motivations and facilitate students learning. This
classroom management plan is designed for a Stage 4 class, Year 8 3 in Mackenzie Secondary
College.
Philosophy
In my personal philosophy of classroom management plan, the considerations about their socio
emotional needs and support students learning are key elements in creating a learning environment. As
a teacher, I will be responsible for creating a well planned classroom environment. In the Social
Justice Theory, students understand they could affect others have the awareness to help regulate their
own behaviors in classrooms. However, it does not mean that students can do whatever they like in the
classroom. According to Responsible Thinking Process Model (Ford, 2008) both students and teachers
have rights of being safe in the learning environment. At this point, I will be a guide for students and
prevent misbehavior. By keeping everything positive in my classroom, students can be actively
engaged and learn more.
I will involve students in designing the classroom rules. As the rules are made, I will emphasis to
ensure they are all clear about these rules. Based on Applied Behaviour Analysis (Alberto Troutman,
2013) the antecedents and consequences can influence students inappropriate behaviours. According
to previous experience, students know

The Wonderful Wizard Of Oz
In The Wonderful Wizard of Oz, the author L. Frank Baum uses colors to represent emotions and
characteristics of the characters and settings in the story. Baum s use of colors not only brought the
characters to life, but also allowed the reader to understand their points of view and motivation in
every scenario. Even children at young ages can comprehend the deep meaning of colors. Infants learn
basic color interpretation such as red objects represent anger while white characters symbolize good.
Baum uses colors to a greater extent when he takes his protagonist Dorothy through the magical land
of Oz. Colors in this novel play a crucial part in separating Dorothy s home life in Kansas from her
adventure through Oz. L. Frank Baum s use of colors in The Wonderful Wizard of Oz symbolize
maturity, loyalty and protection within the characters of the novel. To begin this tale, L. Frank Baum
opens with Dorothy in her hometown Kansas. Dorothy s time in Kansas is surrounded by the color
gray. The unemotional color gray symbolizes subdued, boring and drab (empower yourself with color
psychology). In the novel, Dorothy is an excited child who wants to play and express her creativity. A
setting such as Kansas is not the place for her. In Kansas, everything is subdued because most of the
population is older and more mature than Dorothy is. This brings a feeling of boredom to Dorothy
because relative to her, the rest of the town is very drab or lacking in spirit. Baum brilliantly set an

The size and efficiency of the firm depend upon the supply chain and various different activities which
are included in house. The supply chain activities, product, and services are produced by the firms

process where the company produces its own raw material and ends it by distributing and selling of
those finish goods which are obtained from the raw material. But if firm carries out buying the
material from the other firms and carrying out more than one supply chain process it is termed as
vertical integrations which include upstream suppliers and downstream buyers. Upstream suppliers are

The firms following the horizontal boundary are more efficient as the firm produce multiple products
through in house or narrowing it to the few products and increasing the rationales by economies of
scope and transaction costs. The economies scope rises in distribution of goods and services routed to
several markets. The firms selling variety of products in market can enjoy economies of scope in
advertising themselves. The horizontal integrations actually works by acquiring or by creating the
production units for the product output in the market to increase their market share by increasing the
economic share and economies scale in the market. By having the horizontal integration the firm can
show their presence and strength in the market even by distributing and routing their goods and
services. For example, GE firm has variety of products and services like Universal pictures, universal
parks, medical systems (William Boyes, 2012). etc., where it has more market economic share and
economies of scope. Horizontal integration also helps in promoting the business and also reduces
completion as firm focuses on different production unit which helps firm s economic share and
economies of scope. I agree that the firm need to be horizontally integrated as it will have more

Black Friday Essay
How far do sources 11 12 challenge the view presented in source 10 about the conduct of the police on
Black Friday?
The three sources to be compared are all in relation to the events that occurred on Black Friday ,
particularly surrounding the conduct of the metropolitan police. Source 10, taken from The Times
newspaper presents the view that the police were more victims of the women and raiders that they
were trying to control, and that it took some effort to restrain the women that were protesting on that
day. Whereas source 11, taken from a memorandum that was sent to the home office after Black

Source 11 on the other hand disagrees with the view presented in source source 10. It is an extract
from a memorandum by the Parliamentary Conciliation Committee for Women s Suffrage send to the
Home Office after Black Friday . It agrees with the source ten in the sense that it admits a relentless
struggle occurred between the police and the suffragettes, but it disagrees with source 10 because it
presents the view that it was the police acting violently towards the women, who it says were flung
hither and thither amid moving traffic, and into the hands of a crows which was sometimes rough and
indecent . This opinion is presented because the purpose of the memorandum sent to the home office
was to request a public inquiry into the conduct of the police on Black Friday , because they did not
follow their usual course of action which would have been to arrest the women on a charge of
obstruction but they had been instructed to avoid, as far as possible, making any arrests which is why,
the women argue that the police were so violent. Also, this

Charles Lindbergh s Historical Kidnapping
One of the most monumental federal cases in the 20th Century was the Lindbergh Kidnapping. Due to
this historical kidnapping, US Congress created and passed the Federal Kidnapping Act, which
became known as the Lindbergh Law. On May 20th (and 21st), 1927 an American aviator challenged
himself to daringly cross the Atlantic Ocean in one single flight. The aviator, Charles Lindbergh, flew
from Roosevelt Field in New York City to Le Bourget Field in Paris. The flight, estimated to be 3,600
miles, took thirty three and a half hours. Lindbergh succeeded and became the very first man to fly
nonstop across the Atlantic Ocean. Charles Lindbergh and his plane, the Spirit of St. Louis, went

Causes Of The English Reformation
The English Reformation occurs during the Renaissance era officially beginning with Henry VIII
breaking from the Catholic Church in Rome. The country s religion sways back and forth from
Catholicism and Protestantism due to the reigns of Henry s legitimate children: Edward VI, Mary I,
and Elizabeth I. In 1485, Henry VII became the King of England when he killed King Richard III in
battle. Henry VII had two legitimate sons named Arthur and Henry to inherit the throne when he dies.
Arthur married at the age of nine to Catherine Aragon, the Spanish Princess, who was fourteen at the
time. They went their separate ways before commencement and Arthur died a few years later of
natural causes. Henry VIII was next in line to the throne and became King. When he was fourteen, he
wanted to marry his brother s widow, Catherine, who was seven years older than him. He bribed the
Pope to allow that marriage to his brother s widow. Once the marriage was approved, Henry decided
he needed an heir to the throne. At the time, women were not rulers of countries and therefore they did
not inherit the throne. Catherine had two boys, but both of them died either within seven days or was
stillborn. She ended up having one surviving child, a girl named Mary. As days went by, Catherine
was getting older and still did not produce an heir to the throne. Henry soon became more attracted to
her intern, Anne. Henry VIII went back to the Pope wanting an annulment from Catherine with a small

Paper On Ecclesiastes
Ecclesiastes is derived from the Greek word ekklesia meaning assembly. The author is someone called
Qoheleth which means one who gathers, and is referenced five times throughout the book (Eccl. 1:1,
2, 12; 7:27; 12:8). It is not known if this is the author s name or a title but the English translation of
the word is teacher or preacher . The first verse of chapter one states: The words of the Teacher, the
son of David, king of Jerusalem (Ecclesiastes 1:1), which would obviously indicate that the author is
David s son Solomon, king of the united monarchy. However there is some doubt of authorship raised
due to various evidence, such as the language used in Ecclesiastes as compared to Solomon s other

2:4 9, 12:9, that suggest so which then places the date towards the end of his life sometime in the 900
BC s but no later than 931 BC. Because of Solomon s wisdom the kingdom was prosperous and
considered mighty. But it was falling into moral decline due to the acceptance of self indulgence. The
book seems to be the wisdom of experience coming from someone looking back and reflecting on
their life and wishing to warn the next generation. To advise the reader or listener that whatever their
earthly pursuit outside of God will end in emptiness, even disaster, but then calls the individual back
to hope if the focus is on living for Him. The entire book is coming from a thoroughly human
perspective done in a circular manner rather than a linear one. The teacher starts on one topic, moves
to another, and another, then back around to cover them again. One that has explored the extent of
human ability to achieve what the seeker is after. I, the Teacher, when king over Israel in Jerusalem,
applied my mind to seek and to search out by wisdom all that was done under heaven; it is an unhappy
business that God has given human beings to be busy with. Eccl.1:12 And this leads the author to
understand that it is all vanity. I perceived that this also is but chasing after wind.

Causes And Effects Of The Green Revolution
When people discuss the Green Revolution they are talking about the quick adoption of new
technologies and the introduction of new scientifically bred crop varieties. The Green Revolution took
place due to inadequate amounts of food, depleted land, and economic poverty. Many changes
occurred as a result, some being positive and some being negative. A positive effect of the Green
Revolution was an increased amount of food being available for the population. However, the reduced
availability of nutritious crops, water shortages, and increased tensions and conflicts deterred some
gains of the movement. Because of this, the Green Revolution was more harmful than helpful. There
were many major issues around the world that brought around the start of the Green Revolution. One
major cause was the inadequate amount of food in relation to the population. In Doc. 1, a graph is
provided that compares the wheat yielded in Mexico and India from 1950 2010. From 1950 1970, the
graph shows that Mexico s crops yielded low amounts of wheat. For India, the graph shows that the
crops yielded low amounts of wheat from 1965 1985 which was after the Green Revolution began.
The purpose of this graph was to provide the statistics on wheat yielded and how it changed over the
decades. The intended audience of this graph was the scientists who wanted to see the progression
before and after the revolution. This graph is significant to the topic because it shows that the low
amount of wheat yielded

Comparing Hemingway s A Very Short Story and Fitzgerald s This Side of Paradise
When you first read a tragic, melodramatic love scene you feel like your heart is breaking too.
Sometimes you cry. It is only after the initial rush of feelings that you begin to feel cheated. Usually
the kind of writing that gives you the urge to be demonstrative does not stay with you as long as
something more subtle. In Scott Fitzgerald s This Side of Paradise, the reader is presented with such a
love scene in the form of a play. I admit to having sobbed for a solid minute after reading about the ill
fated romance between Amory Blaine and Rosalind Connage. However, the same subject, with
different characters, told in a much more concise, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
One of the ways that Hemingway achieves this is that his sentences alternate between dealing with a
very small detail or specific moment and moving the story through long periods of time. In the
opening paragraph of the story, Hemingway paints the picture of one night at the hospital. He takes
time to note that there were chimney swifts in the sky. Later on we skip through his entire experience
when he returns to the war, seeing the period only in terms of the girl. Hemingway can move through
time quickly in the story without losing the thread of the narrative. There is nothing in the story that is
not essential to understanding the experience of the boy and the girl.
In the Fitzgerald novel, on the other hand, there is so much extraneous material that it can be difficult
to process. The twenty five page section that deals with the romance even changes style several times,
moving from a play to prose and back again. There is none of the tight craftsmanship found in the
Hemingway story.
Amory and Rosalind s lines are full of clich eacute;s and bright, splashy comments. The stage
directions are things like, their eyes were blinded by tears, and other dramatic indications. The
Fitzgerald tale is one of intense but fleeting impressions.
Another important distinction between the two stories

Symbolism In The Thief
The Thief and the Stalinist Period
As a movie depicting the Stalinist period, The Thief eloquently wrapped a historical and political
portrayal in an emotional journey of Sanya, Katya, and Tolyan. Some important aspects of the movie
that provide a strong nuance of the Stalinist era are the financial struggle among commoners, the
positive attitude towards Stalin, and the paternalistic emphasis. Additionally, some indirect symbolism
in the movie may portray the relationship between Stalin and Russians during the Stalinist period.
Financial struggle was the emphasis early in the movie, portraying how difficult life could be during
the Stalinist period. In the beginning of the movie, Katya gave birth to Sanya. While this might
symbolize the start of Sanya s story and life, the scene also signified how the lack of wealth made pain
and suffering dominate the life of the characters.
As the movie continued, this hardship seemed to permeate into the life ... Show more content on

Moving beyond the storyline, The Thief offered three main characters that could represent the Russian
society in the Stalinist period by through their images and attitudes. Aside from retelling a story of
fatherhood, The Thief indirectly symbolized the legacy of Stalin with its political failure and
destructive impacts (Gillespie 75).
To summarize, The Thief can symbolize Stalinist era in two ways. Using the values portrayed in the
movie, it showed the significance of financial struggle, Stalin s popularity, and paternalistic views
during the Stalinist period. Additionally, it can also represent the complicated relationship between
Stalin and the Russian people using the views and behaviors of its main characters: Tolyan, Sanya, and

Minor Characters In Romeo And Juliet
In the traumatic play Romeo and Juliet by William Shakespeare, the tragic result is and is not the
responsibility of the minor characters. The minor characters are certainly not responsible because
Romeo and Juliet killed themselves with their own free will, and none of the minor characters were
involved in this wistful event. As well as this, fate also had a significant role in guiding their
relationship to not work out as it caused many events to inevitably happen. However, I believe that
Friar Lawrence is accountable for part of the tragedy, as he did not do his best or go out of his way, to
ensure that his plan for Romeo and Juliet would work out. Firstly, Romeo and Juliet ended their lives
with their own free will, and no one encouraged or guided them to do so. An example is when Juliet
was asleep in the tomb and Romeo assumed she had died. Romeo quotes, Is crimson in thy lips and in
thy cheeks, and death s pale flag is not advancèd there. This hence shows that Romeo had an instinct
that Juliet was not dead and he thoroughly noticed all the signs of a living and healthy person;
however did not look deeper or infer profoundly. At this point, Romeo drunk the poison because he
concluded that his life was not worth living unless Juliet was in it. This shows how Romeo ended his
life himself without the influence of any minor characters. Another example is when Juliet stabs
herself with the dagger. Juliet quotes, Yea, noise, then I ll be brief; O, happy dagger! This is thy
sheath; three rest, and let me die. This also shows that Juliet killed herself with no encouragement
from minor characters and stabbed herself with her own doing. Juliet was too in love with the idea of
love, as she also thought she did not have a purpose without Romeo. Juliet had so much more to live
for and none of the minor characters expressed to Juliet, that Romeo was all she had. These two
examples intensively confirm how it was undoubtedly, not the minor characters fault and it conveys
how they are not responsible for the disastrous and devastating deaths of Romeo and Juliet. Moreover,
fate had a notable significance in regarding the deaths of Romeo and Juliet. Fate led on many events
that were destined to happen, with

he also craves approval. She demands that her children be and act perfect. When Buck was little,
before Conrad was born, Beth formed a very tight bond with Buck, that seemed to push Calvin out of
the happy little triangle that was their family. Beth s pregnancy with Conrad was difficult; morning
sickness, high blood pressure and a difficult labor and delivery. Beth does not have the same bond

might have had with Conrad; at times ignoring him when they are in the same room together, being

Beth is not the person he thought she was. He wonders if she cannot not even find a little compassion

Abstract
We all wonder what the words life, liberty, and property derived from. In this paper I will be
explaining what due process is and how it relates to life, liberty, and property. I will also explain
where due process came from and what 2 amendments relate to due process. Before we start though I
would like you to know that due process is there to protect the defendant under proving guilty.
Define due process and its origin? Due process refers to a set of established legal principles, derived

Substantive refers to the specific rights being denied, even if the process is deemed fair. Actions are
taken by the state in a process that would be considered fair, but could still be challenged on the basis
that it improperly denies a right. Substantive is which includes all your basic amendment rights. An
example could be Griswold vs. Connecticut (1995). Connecticut law made it illegal for doctors to
dispense birth control to their patients. The court ruled that the law violated the Constitution not
because it was passed or applied improperly, but because it denied that patients their right to privacy.
Another example could be the law that Pennsylvania has that everyone that wants to vote will need to
show a valid ID to prove that no laws are being broken. This applies because it goes against a person
right to speech and freedom. One good example I like to think due process came from was from the
Bible on the Garden of Eden, because God did not immediately punish them. The first thing that God
did was ask Where art thou Adam? Thereby giving him notice. God gave him a chance to be heard by
asking Didn t thou eat the forbidden fruit (The Beginning, 2007)? In my options this in when due
process came into affects; no one would like to relate due process to the Garden of Eden time.

Thai Mutual Fund Performance Skill or Luck
ABSTRACT
Using a data set on Thai open end domestic equity funds over the June 2000 to October 2007 period.
We apply a Bootstrap methodology to distinguish between skill and luck for the individual funds. A
Bootstrap approach is necessary because the nonnormal distributions of individual fund alphas. This
study points to the existence of genuine stock picking skill among the top performing Thai equity
mutual funds, performance which is not solely due to good luck. At the bottom fund, our analysis
strongly rejects the hypothesis that most poor performing funds are merely unlucky. Most of these
funds demonstrate bad skill .

Research Question
With mutual fund alphas that deviate significantly from normality, how many funds from a large
group would we expect to exhibit high alphas simply due to luck, and how does this figure compare to
the number we actually observe?
3
Objectives of the Study
1. To study performance of equity funds in Thailand whether equity funds outperform the benchmark.
2. To study whether performance of equity funds in Thailand is due to genuine stock picking skill or in
part of luck.
3. To study the performance persistence of equity funds in Thailand.
Scope of the Study
Weekly returns of the universe of Thai open end, domestic equity funds which have been operated
during 2000 to 2007 period.
Limitation of Study
1. The returns used in this research are returns of mutual funds. So, we can only evaluate the stock
picking skill of all managers of funds, not skill of individual fund manager. 2. The returns used in this
research are not the net returns, which already deducts management fee. So, there is possibility that
the underperformed fund is caused by ineffective management of fund not from lack of manager‟s
skill.
Contribution of the Study
To guide the investors of equity funds in Thailand how to invest in the outperformed fund by
considering past performance of fund and genuine stock picking

Released in 1994, The Mighty Ducks D2, directed by Sam Weisman is a fictional sequel based off The
Mighty Ducks (1992). It is about a youth hockey team, The Mighty Ducks, which are reunited to
represent Team USA in an international competition which takes place in Los Angeles, California. The

Mighty Ducks D2 was a film that played a vital role in influencing American born hockey players, and
kids from non traditional hockey markets to try hockey and ultimately want to represent their country
playing hockey. One of the main contributing factors to the movies success was its Entertainment
value. This is comprised of the hook, action, suspense, and TR sequence. The movie opened with a
tremendous hook starting when former minor league player and coach Gordon Bombay rounds up all
the original members of The Mighty Ducks from various areas and background to bring them back
together to play for Team USA in The Junior Goodwill Games. Action was heavily exemplified in all
their games but emphasized when they competed against the bigger, stronger, and heavily favorited
Team Iceland. They battle in the Championship game was filled with not only action but suspense, and
TR sequences. There were many massive hits, and penalties. Also, they traded goals making it hard to
predict who was going to end up

A Tale Of Bram Stoker s Dracula
Vampires weren t always the socially in tune creatures that they are now. The whole legend started
from Bram stoker s Dracula . Stoker had created a fictional character based on Vlad the Impaler or
Vlad III. Who for several reasons was a perfect person to pick he was feared by many, was ruthless,
killed his own, and got rid of all the sick and poor... burning them alive. ELI NIXON stated that
Historians put the deaths at the hands of Dracula at somewhere between 40,000 and 100,000 . And
finally Vlad may not have sucked blood out of his victims necks, but he would invite his victims for a
feast and immediately after. They would be impaled at the dinner table. Vlad calmly finishing his meal
while dipping his bread in buckets of blood drained from the people he killed. For these and many
other reasons Vlad inspired Stoker to create Dracula. A soulless monster who possesses an evil soul
and feeds on blood. Most recently the popular Twilight Saga by Stephenie Meyer, has changed how
vampires are viewed drastically. Instead of being horrific monsters there were turned into a teenage
girl s twisted fantasy. In Meyer s book the vampires sparkle under direct sunlight. They ****ing

how did it end up with Edward the sparkling vampire? Lets start from the first vampire movie

A Good Man Is Hard To Find Literary Analysis
A Good Man is Hard to Find by Flannery O Conner shows the battle of society vs. class. The
grandmother in A Good Man is hard to find gives great importance to being a lady, and her ideas about
what that means reflect an old fashioned, Southern mindset. She uses the n word and longs for the
good old days when kids were polite, people were trustworthy. All of this leads her to associate being
good with coming from a respectable family and behaving like a member of her social class; those
who don t are outsiders. All of this is put to the test when she meets The Misfit. Society vs. Class
shows that everyone is truly equal and at the end of the day social class doesn t make a difference. O
Conner shows this through her use of Tone and Characterization throughout the story. The
grandmother is representative of godliness and Christianity which O Connor apparently believed to be
more prevalent in the 1950 s down south. the grandmother had on a navy blue straw sailor hat with a
bunch of white violets on the brim and a navy blue dress with a small white dot in the print. Her collar

Essay on Motivations for Faustus s Rebellion
In the Faust legend, a man by the name of Faust or Faustus sells his soul to the devil for twenty four
years of ultimate worldly power. Although the tale of this German scholar/ magician called Johann
Faust or Faustus has been re told many times over, no version has become more prominent and
controversial in English literature and history than that of Christopher Marlowe s play first published
eleven years after his death in 1604. Marlowe s reworking is possibly the first dramatization of the
medieval myth of a man who sold his soul to the Devil, and who became identified with a
necromancer of the sixteenth century. Written in a time of religious uncertainty and social upheaval,
the tale of Doctor Faustus explores the elements involved ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Marlowe used many conventions of the medieval morality play, a popular form which uses a variety
of allegory and narrates the gradual education of its hero into an understanding of the difference
between essentially right and wrong. He modified this traditional form for Doctor Faustus and fitted it
to the legend where conventionally the hero invariably comes to the conclusion of the play a wiser and
better man, but due to the satanic nature of Faustus s rebellion he inevitably falls to his doom and is
dragged screaming to Hell. But what were his motivations for such a seditious rebellion with
inevitably disastrous consequences? Was he just bored and wanted more of a challenge so cast aside
any previous knowledge of religious consequences when intellectual and supernatural supremacy is
used for bad and not for good? The Chorus provide us with a clear synopsis of a few but compact lines

Personality Theory Of Personality Development
Many personality theorists offered different explanations for human behaviors as well as established
specific stages of personality development. However, person centered theory does not have a theory of
personality structure, rather believes that it is essential to follow certain principles in order to develop
the self concept. Rogers s theory of personality is based on the notion that all individuals have the
innate ability to reach actualizing tendency and establish a self concept, which is congruent with his
whole experience (Warner, 2009). Rogers defined the actualizing tendency as the inborn motivating
force of the self, which move towards fulfilling and enhancing ones true potential. The actualizing
tendency applies to all living organism, however, in human this tendency is referred as self
actualization. According to Rogers (1980) actualizing tendency can be suppressed, though, it can
never be destroyed, without destroying the organism itself. This phenomenon is the motivating force
in the theory, which includes all motivations such as need, drive, or anxiety reduction. It also
encompasses, growth motivations for instance, the desire to be more creative and seeking of
pleasurable tensions. It is Rogers belief that all organisms including, humans strive to become his/her
full potential even under difficult circumstances. However, when individuals are lacking empathy and
unconditional positive regard in their society and in interpersonal relationship, then

Dna And Sequence Of Dna Essay
DNA (deoxyribonucleic acid) is a self replicating nucleic acid that carries the genetic information in
cells in a double helix structure. The 2 stranded helix is composed of 4 nucleotides, Adenine (A),
Thymine (T), Guanine (G), and Cytosine (C). The base pairs only form between A and T connected by
2 Hydrogen bonds and G and C connected by 3 hydrogen bonds. Foremost DNA wrapping comes
about as DNA wraps around protein called histones. These combined loops of DNA and protein are
called nucleosomes and the nucleosomes are packaged into a thread called chromatin. Chromosomes
are made up of packaged chromatin and can be seen in the nucleus of dividing cells and form around
DNA replication. Furthermore, DNA replication begins with 2 DNA strands being separated by the
helicase enzyme. Single stranded DNA binding proteins attach to these strands to keep them from re
connecting. 1 DNA strand begins to encode called the leading strand, which Forms from 5 to 3 end
using DNA polymerase 3 the primary polymerase. The other strand is referred to as the lagging strand,
which presents problems because it has to form from the 5 to 3 end as well. As continuous replication
of the leading strand continues the lagging strand forms in pieces called Okazaki fragments. RNA
primase forms as RNA primer and polymerase III lay down new DNA. This process repeats again and
again. DNA polymerase I replaces RNA primers with DNA and DNA ligase links the Okazaki
fragments. Along with the process of DNA

Comparing Prometheus And Atlas
Many a few have heard of Atlas, the almighty titan. After the gods of olympus, led by Zeus defeated
the titans, Atlas was charged to eternally bear the weight of the world on his shoulders. To be a bit
more specific, Atlas was mandated to keep apart the heavens and the Earth. This was the predicament
of a number of titans at the hands of Zeus and the other Gods. For example, Prometheus, creator of the
Earth is tortured eternally. Every Day, a murderous phoenix attacks him and steals his liver, and
everyday, his liver grows back so that he suffers the pain each and every day. Well, both Prometheus
and Atlas helped our beloved hero Hercules with his 12 labors. His eleventh labor was to retrieve
some golden apples from the Garden of Hesperides. However, this garden was protected by a

Prometheus. After slaying the murderous bird, Hercules was informed that Atlas was his best chance
at procuring some golden apples. So Hercules again set off in search of Atlas. Hercules struck a deal
with Atlas. It basically said that Hercules would bear the burden of Atlas for a short while, meanwhile
Atlas would enter the garden and get the apples for Hercules. After Atlas had successfully made it
back with the apples, he told Hercules that he would just take them to Eurystheus himself. Hercules
slyly agreed, but asked if Atlas could hold it long enough for Hercules to place some padding on his
shoulders to help with the load. But Hercules took the apples and ran without looking back and
returned to Eurystheus with the apples prepared to tackle his final labor before he was accepted into
Olympus as a God. And Atlas was left to bear the weight of the heavens forever in

According to a study in 2011 by Pennsylvania State University, 7.6 percent of the general population
has problems with sleep paralysis. The trouble is that sleep paralysis can be dismissed as no more than
a vivid nightmare. Studies have proven that sleep paralysis can happen to anyone and indeed will at
some point in their life; however, it is possible that an episode can go unnoticed. Sleep paralysis
occurs at one of two times: Hypnagogic sleep paralysis occurs as one falls asleep. Hypnopompic sleep
paralysis occurs as one awakes from sleep. In both cases, it is believed to be a result of disrupted REM
sleep which routinely induces complete muscle atonia, relaxing and easing the body into a state of
voluntary paralysis. This is to prevent sleepers from acting out their dreams, potentially harming
themselves in the process. REM sleep disruption insists that the sleeper is having troubling
transitioning into various stages of sleep, like a computer failing to process data. Scientists have yet to
uncover any empirical evidence that could explain this faulty transition. The paralysis remains, yet the
mind is aware. This might explain why many who have experienced this phenomenon feel as though

Political Changes In Cuba
The country of Cuba is a nation that has gone through a great amount of change throughout its history,
especially during the period of the early 1960s up through the late 1970s. However, the element of
Cuba that has gone through the most change was its politics and international relations. Cuba s politics
and international relations with North America, South America, Europe and Africa have been key
factors and the reasons why Cuba s economy, society and culture are shaped the way they are now.
The year Castro and Che Guevara defeated Fulgencio Batista, Fidel took control of Cuba and crowned
himself the new prime minister of his country. The successful revolution represented one of the most
profound social transformations ever seen in the Americas (Strug, 68). Cuba, a country that has always

Social Networking and Narcissistic Behavior Essay
Social networking has risen in popularity throughout the last twenty years and in effect narcissistic
behavior has increased within society(particularly America s society) since the 1980 s(Jayson 1).
Studies show that the greater an individual is inclined to narcissistic behavior; there is a resulting

Persuasion As A Political Leader
In today s society, we are easily influenced to think and act a certain way. For example, we are
influenced by the media to buy things and meet certain standards, however, we often don t protest or
question why. Through persuasion, one alters another s perspective on an event or occurrence and
because of this, people usually tend to accept what is being said or portrayed. According to Petty and
Cacioppo (1986), there are two routes to persuasion. When one tries to persuade another by being
more caring and have a good understanding of the message they are delivering, this is called the
central route to persuasion. The second route to persuasion is better known as the peripheral route to
persuasion. This occurs when the one being addressed simply agrees with what is being said based on
certain superficial cues rather than the actual message. Political persuasion methods are widely used,
especially in campaigns. As a political leader, one detains the ultimate power to influence the
population. Being a political leader, however, is never easy. Sometimes, one must make tough
decisions that many of the population might not agree on. For instance, if a person in power chose to
bomb a foreign country, this would create mayhem and thus his followers or just people in society
would start to doubt his decision and may lead to riots. This specific political leader must debate his
case and persuade the population that his decision was the right thing to do. In order to do so,

The second element of the ruling the effect it had on African American supporters and the
encouragement if afforded had a greater impact. Paterson and Willoughby say the psychological need
for integration6 had been recognised, what Patterson calls the symbolic value of Brown 7. All three
historians agree that African Americans needed some success to motivate the continued struggle, and
this Brown provided. Patterson says activists were extraordinarily heartened by Brown 8. Kevern
Verney talks of a renewed hope 9 given to African Americans. They were similarly helped by Browder
v. Gayle in 1956, which ruled the bus segregation in Montgomery unconstitutional, and Boyton v.
Virginia in 1960, which extended this ruling to waiting rooms and restaurants. According to
Willoughby and Paterson, the clear cut decision came in the knick of time 10 for the protest
movement, which might not have succeeded without the ruling by the court. Even here, however, the
court was unable to enforce the actions. One observer recalled a bus station ... still rigorously
segregated 11, in 1966. These examples show the Supreme Court as advancing the Civil Rights by
passing favourable and motivating rulings, but it certainly fell short when it came to enforcing them.
Taking everything into account, the Supreme Court was a force for change, but not without fault, in
the later 20th century. Civil Rights groups themselves were arguably more important

Wrongful Convictions Guy Paul Morin Case
Among the many differing cases of wrongfully convicted Canadians, the case of Guy Paul Morin is
very interesting. There were many issues that caused an innocent man from Queensville, Ontario to be
convicted of the murder of Christine Jessop. We re going to look at how the police failed to conduct a
thorough investigation, how the court system failed, and how cases like this can be preventing in the
future. Christine Jessop was a nine year old girl who after bring dropped off by the school bus at her
home in Queensville decided to ride her bike to the park nearby to meet with her friends. After
stopping to buy some gum at the local store she was last seen walking her bike up her driveway by her
friend Kim Warren. She did not keep her appointment with her friend at the park, and would never be
seen alive again (Anderson Anderson, 2009). This small town instantly became involved in the search
for the missing girl, but with very little evidence to go on time passed, and hope began to diminish for
the safe return home of Jessop. On New Year s Eve 1984, eighty nine days after Jessop went missing,
her body was found badly decomposed in a bush by Fred Patterson fifty five kilometers from
Queensville. An autopsy would later revival that she was raped and mutilated (Anderson Anderson,
2009). The police still did not have a suspect in the case nor did they have any leads, but now that her
body was found the police and the small town were the topic of media, increasing pressure

the woods on the darkest snow filled night and thus stopping to take it all in. An analysis on the Poem
by Robert Frost, called Stopping by Woods on a Snowy Evening . What was the desire of the
exhausted traveler to stop and appreciate the woods that seemed so irresistible? Although his horse
questions his judgment, and the traveler s hidden promise to keep at the end of his destination, he
stops to take in the scenery. With the output given the traveler s journey is not over when stated that he
has miles to go before he sleeps even though he s tired he takes this moment to reboot his energy in
the night air, making his quest about the journey and then about his previous engagement. The rest of
this essay will express the literary devices and themes featured in this poem.
This poem grabbed my attention because I was engaged while reading it the whole time, with the
imagery helping to make a perfect scene in my head. Every line gave another piece to the overall
scene and perspective. Each time I have re read this poem I find something different and a new
meaning to each line or a new literary device used. While reading how dark, cold and big the woods
are I never felt like they were dangerous, maybe a little foreboding at times, but instead the feeling of
the traveler and his horse were welcomed there by the similarities to the place and that the blanket of
snow wrapping

  • 2. Hatshepsut s Accomplishments For over 22 years, the most powerful man in all of ancient Egypt was, in fact, a woman. Even the brightest minds the world has ever known have struggled with this topic. Thousands of papers, essays, and full fledged books have been written offering arguments and reasons both for and against the existence of a divine creator. One of the more popular arguments against his existence claims that an all powerful, loving God would not allow evil to be in the world. The Green Revolution took place due to inadequate amounts of food, depleted land, and economic poverty. Many changes occurred as a result, some being positive and some being negative. A positive effect of the Green Revolution was an increased amount of food being available for the population. However, the reduced availability of nutritious crops, water shortages, and increased tensions and conflicts deterred some gains of the movement. One of the ways that Hemingway achieves this is that his sentences alternate between dealing with a very small detail or specific moment and moving the story through long periods of time. In the opening paragraph of the story, Hemingway paints the picture of one night at the hospital. He takes time to note that there were chimney swifts in the sky. Later on we skip through his entire experience when he returns to the war, seeing the period only in terms of the girl. Hemingway can move through time quickly in the story without losing the thread of the narrative. There is nothing in the story that is not essential to understanding the experience of the boy and the girl. In the Fitzgerald novel, on the other hand, there is so much extraneous material that it can be difficult to process. The twenty five page section that deals with the romance even changes style several times, moving from a play to prose and back again. There is none of the tight craftsmanship found in the Hemingway story. Amory and Rosalind s lines are full of clich eacute;s and bright, splashy comments. • 18. Minor Characters In Romeo And Juliet In the traumatic play Romeo and Juliet by William Shakespeare, the tragic result is and is not the responsibility of the minor characters. The minor characters are certainly not responsible because Romeo and Juliet killed themselves with their own free will, and none of the minor characters were involved in this wistful event. As well as this, fate also had a significant role in guiding their relationship to not work out as it caused many events to inevitably happen. However, I believe that Friar Lawrence is accountable for part of the tragedy, as he did not do his best or go out of his way, to ensure that his plan for Romeo and Juliet would work out. Firstly, Romeo and Juliet ended their lives with their own free will, and no one encouraged or guided them to do so. An example is when Juliet was asleep in the tomb and Romeo assumed she had died. Romeo quotes, Is crimson in thy lips and in thy cheeks, and death s pale flag is not advancèd there. This hence shows that Romeo had an instinct that Juliet was not dead and he thoroughly noticed all the signs of a living and healthy person; however did not look deeper or infer profoundly. At this point, Romeo drunk the poison because he concluded that his life was not worth living unless Juliet was in it. This shows how Romeo ended his life himself without the influence of any minor characters. Another example is when Juliet stabs herself with the dagger. Juliet quotes, Yea, noise, then I ll be brief; O, happy dagger! This is thy sheath; three rest, and let me die. This also shows that Juliet killed herself with no encouragement from minor characters and stabbed herself with her own doing. Juliet was too in love with the idea of love, as she also thought she did not have a purpose without Romeo. Juliet had so much more to live for and none of the minor characters expressed to Juliet, that Romeo was all she had. These two examples intensively confirm how it was undoubtedly, not the minor characters fault and it conveys how they are not responsible for the disastrous and devastating deaths of Romeo and Juliet. Moreover, fate had a notable significance in regarding the deaths of Romeo and Juliet. Fate led on many events that were destined to happen, with ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Connecticut law made it illegal for doctors to dispense birth control to their patients. Another example could be the law that Pennsylvania has that everyone that wants to vote will need to show a valid ID to prove that no laws are being broken. One good example I like to think due process came from was from the Bible on the Garden of Eden, because God did not immediately punish them. The first thing that God did was ask Where art thou Adam? Thereby giving him notice. God gave him a chance to be heard by asking Didn t thou eat the forbidden fruit (The Beginning, 2007)? The grandmother in A Good Man is hard to find gives great importance to being a lady, and her ideas about what that means reflect an old fashioned, Southern mindset. She uses the n word and longs for the good old days when kids were polite, people were trustworthy. All of this leads her to associate being good with coming from a respectable family and behaving like a member of her social class; those who don t are outsiders. All of this is put to the test when she meets The Misfit. Society vs. Class shows that everyone is truly equal and at the end of the day social class doesn t make a difference. O Conner shows this through her use of Tone and Characterization throughout the story. However, person centered theory does not have a theory of personality structure, rather believes that it is essential to follow certain principles in order to develop the self concept. Rogers s theory of personality is based on the notion that all individuals have the innate ability to reach actualizing tendency and establish a self concept, which is congruent with his whole experience (Warner, 2009). Rogers defined the actualizing tendency as the inborn motivating force of the self, which move towards fulfilling and enhancing ones true potential. The actualizing tendency applies to all living organism, however, in human this tendency is referred as self actualization. It also encompasses, growth motivations for instance, the desire to be more creative and seeking of pleasurable tensions. • 30. Dna And Sequence Of Dna Essay DNA (deoxyribonucleic acid) is a self replicating nucleic acid that carries the genetic information in cells in a double helix structure. The 2 stranded helix is composed of 4 nucleotides, Adenine (A), Thymine (T), Guanine (G), and Cytosine (C). The base pairs only form between A and T connected by 2 Hydrogen bonds and G and C connected by 3 hydrogen bonds. Foremost DNA wrapping comes about as DNA wraps around protein called histones. These combined loops of DNA and protein are called nucleosomes and the nucleosomes are packaged into a thread called chromatin. Chromosomes are made up of packaged chromatin and can be seen in the nucleus of dividing cells and form around DNA replication. Furthermore, DNA replication begins with 2 DNA strands being separated by the helicase enzyme. Single stranded DNA binding proteins attach to these strands to keep them from re connecting. 1 DNA strand begins to encode called the leading strand, which Forms from 5 to 3 end using DNA polymerase 3 the primary polymerase. The other strand is referred to as the lagging strand, which presents problems because it has to form from the 5 to 3 end as well. As continuous replication of the leading strand continues the lagging strand forms in pieces called Okazaki fragments. RNA primase forms as RNA primer and polymerase III lay down new DNA. Sleep paralysis occurs at one of two times: Hypnagogic sleep paralysis occurs as one falls asleep. Hypnopompic sleep paralysis occurs as one awakes from sleep. In both cases, it is believed to be a result of disrupted REM sleep which routinely induces complete muscle atonia, relaxing and easing the body into a state of voluntary paralysis. This is to prevent sleepers from acting out their dreams, potentially harming themselves in the process. REM sleep disruption insists that the sleeper is having troubling transitioning into various stages of sleep, like a computer failing to process data. • 37. Persuasion As A Political Leader In today s society, we are easily influenced to think and act a certain way. For example, we are influenced by the media to buy things and meet certain standards, however, we often don t protest or question why. Through persuasion, one alters another s perspective on an event or occurrence and because of this, people usually tend to accept what is being said or portrayed. According to Petty and Cacioppo (1986), there are two routes to persuasion. When one tries to persuade another by being more caring and have a good understanding of the message they are delivering, this is called the central route to persuasion. The second route to persuasion is better known as the peripheral route to persuasion. This occurs when the one being addressed simply agrees with what is being said based on certain superficial cues rather than the actual message. Political persuasion methods are widely used, especially in campaigns. As a political leader, one detains the ultimate power to influence the population. Being a political leader, however, is never easy. Sometimes, one must make tough decisions that many of the population might not agree on. For instance, if a person in power chose to bomb a foreign country, this would create mayhem and thus his followers or just people in society would start to doubt his decision and may lead to riots.
