Using Microsoft Excel And Microsoft Word
A quartic equation is a fourth order polynomial equation of the form. Shortly after the discovery
of a method to solve the cubic equation, Lodovico Ferrari (1522 1565), a student of Cardano,
found a way to solve the quartic equation. His solution is a testimony to both the power and the
limitations of elementary algebra. The objective of this project is to analyze a polynomialof degree
four via various attributes using Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word. I was assigned a nuumber in
class that resembles a fucntion provided on the list.
An end behavior on a graph basically talks about the tailends of the graph. You determine the end
behavior by looking at which way the tailends are pointing. The end behavior is the behavior of the

Looking at my graph i can come to a conclusion that the left side of my graph is going upward so
F(x) is approching positive infinity. The left side isnt pointing upward or downward so i had to
look at my equation to determine what f(x) is. Since the leading coefficient is negative the right
side of the graph is going down , so f(x) approches negative infinity.
Local extrema is basically all local maximums and minimums on a functions graph. Local
extrema occurs at criticla points on the graph where the derivative is zero or undefined. To find
the exact number of a local extrema using your polynomial , first find the first derivative of f
using the power rule. Then you will set the derivative to zero and solve for x. The values you get
are the critical points which is also your local extrema. To find the local extrema in your
calculator all you have to do is enter the equation into Y=. Then hit GRAPH and look for the
max value first. To find the max value just go to calculate and choose maximum. Then move your
cursor to the left when they ask you for left bound and hit enter and it will tell you that you locked
the position and just repeat the bounds for the right side too. When it asks for guess just hit enter
and the coordinates of he max value will appear. I had atleast 4 local extrema.
A zero of a function is an input value that produces an output of zero and can also be referred to as,
a root. An examples of this would be f(x)=

Sociocultural Theory in Early Childhood Development Essay
Sociocultural is defined as relating to, or involving a combination of social (relating to human
society) and cultural (taste in art and manners that are favored by a social group) factors.
(Socialcultural , 2010) You might ask why we are defining these words. It gives a better
understanding of Vygotsky beliefs that children seek out adults for interaction, beginning at birth,
and that development occurs through these interactions. (Morrison, 2009 sec 14.6) I agree that his
theory is the best process for learning. Many people feel that social interaction and learning begin at
birth, but there have been research conducted that fetus can learn through parental interaction.

Lev Vygotskyconcept is showing or helping children with a task. They are taught everything
through social interaction no matter what it is. They are taught by example, by getting help with
the task and are expected to be able to complete it by themselves. With this concept of learning
every child is able to learn and evolve into completing activities independently and progressively
from what they have learned. It is important that the environment for the child be set with ideas and
task that will allow them too mentally, educationally and physically develop with or without adult
and peer assistant.
Children are taught to mimic things like sounds and action; by mimicking this will help teachers
understand how a child learns and what they know. It is important to know what each child
understand and what they can progress on from previous teachings; by having them explain what
they are doing. Intersubjectivity is another concept of Lev Vegotsky individuals come to a task,
problem, or conversation with their, own subjective ways of making sense of it . (Morrison, 2009
sec 14) This is for the child to verbally discuss their issue, to show that they understand what they
are doing, and that they can talk themselves through a problem. In Early Childhood Development

disabilities and children whose language is other than

Reflection On The Boy In The Black Suit
The Boy in the Black Suit by Jason Reynolds is a realistic book and a winner of the Coretta Scott
King Award that is given to outstanding African American authors and illustrators. The main
character Matt wants his life to back to normal before his mom died. Matt gets a job at a local
funeral home and starts watching the funerals. He looks for the person that was the closest to the
dead person. When he sees them he understands that he isn t the only person that is grieving.
During one of the funerals he was watching he was looking for that one person instead he sees a
girl named Love. Love s grandmother died and instead of breaking down in tears she is
understanding that her grandma is in a better place. This gives Matt a different perspective on death
and the loss of someone important. Matt is grieving after his mother s death and he learns that
everyone grieves in different ways and needs help after the death of someone important to them....

[Electronic Version]. Applied Psychology in Criminal Justice, 2(3), 82 113. Summary: This
article was written by Randy K. Otto fir the journal, Applied Psychology in Criminal Justice. The
subject of this article is to review the legal framework regarding competency to stand trial, or
competency to proceed, as it pertains to our current court system, provide a recommend format
for competency evaluations, and review special topics and/or related issues. Competency to
stand trial is defined as the ability to participate adequately in criminal proceedings and to aid in
one s own defense. (Costanzo Krauss, 2012). This article addresses the development of modern
day competency ideas and standards, provides a sample competency assessment template, and
addresses various topics and issues related to the question of competency. This article address the
topic I have chosen specifically. The author provided an in depth analysis of the history and
current practices of competency to stand trial. He utilized various articles, assessments and
manuals in his review and analysis. His goal was to evaluate current standards and assessments and
provide a more effective assessment to be used across the board that addressed all of the various
aspects of competency. Otto provided that the concept of competency has been around since the
14th Century. The importance of a defendants ability to participate

Critique of New Age Bollywood
New Age Bollywood: Society s call or IQ s fall The actress flexes her belly muscles for the 367th
time on screen. She seems to be quite content with the blatant stereotyping and the pigeon holing.
The fact that she is only there as a commodity doesn t seem to bother her. The actor falls in love at
first sight with her or her belly dancing, we re not really sure. The same actorproceeds to bash the
skulls of 453 similar minded men lusting after the aforementioned belly to prove his love for the
actress. (With all due respect to the undoubtedly smart and perfectly reasonable 453 goons, it often
beats me why they all never attack at once.) The audience erupts at the end of the painfully (er, coat

Cue fully deserved standing ovation. If you find that the plot of Partner is remotely similar to that
of Hitch, or that Phir Hera Pheri is identical to Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels then you,
my friend, are clearly mistaken. I want you to stare at the mirror long and hard and think about
where your life is headed. Oh, and you also reek of anti nationalism. All events in the movies are
fictitious and any resemblance, however compelling, to any Hollywood movie is purely
coincidental and accidental. The rate at which Bollywood standards have fallen, and continuously
kept plummeting, would easily put the 1929 Great Depression to shame. That is a feat in itself,
and thus deserves applause. Thus, we dedicate this article to all those bright souls who over the
years have played a huge part in this country s collective mental degeneration. Where we as a
society would have strayed without their relentless guidance is anyone s guess. It simultaneously
sickens and saddens me to discover that the present generation derives immense pleasure from this
utter dross that is churned out week after week. But then, who am I to question the absolute
behemoth of public approval that is the Indian Film Industry. I am a mere mortal who has no right
to pelt small stones at this greatly revered sleeping giant. Well, even if I do, there obviously won t
be any effect. As long as the immensely rational people of our country keep devouring these frankly
demeaning offerings, the

Woman At Point Zero Personification
In the Middle Eastern culture, women held relatively no power during the 19th century and were
taken advantage of in the Arabic culture. El Saadawi struggles to exert her voice and power in
society because she refuses to conform to society s expectations. Nawal El Saadawi exemplifies
the motif of eyes in her novel, Womanat Point Zero. They live in a strictly patriarchal society but
Firdaus challenges this belief through her fervent eye contact. El Saadawi shows this through her
fictional character, Firdaus, who creates an intimate connection between various characters via the
motif of eyes and uncovers the characters true intentions.
The reader s first encounter with eyes is shown through the intimate connection between Firdaus
and her mother. El Saadawi employs an anaphora, They were eyes that watched me...... Show more

El Saadawi demonstrates personification by giving eyes the ability to die as if they are much
more than just a pair of organs, they have the ability to feel. Firdaus realizes that she never truly
experiences love because all of the people that Firdaus thinks she loved took away the shine in
her eyes. She no longer saw the beauty in people once they broke her. Firdaus saw how people,
like Ibrahim used for alternative purposes and that mentally killed her. El Saadawi could no
longer give herself to love because she refuses to feel any emotion, as though something had
closed up inside (El Saadawi 83). Firdaus never gets to experience real love and she knows that. El
Saadawi demonstrates how men chase materialistic desires over everything. The social status of
Egyptian men was highly dependent on their occupation, Ibrahim prioritizes his social status over
his emotional connection with Firdaus because society forces Ibrahim to believe that his value is

Kaspersky has discovered on October 10, 2017, an Adobe Flash zero day exploit. Adobe assigned
it CVE 2017 11292. The payload is delivered, most commonly by a socially engineered email,
through a Microsoft Office document. Embedded within the document is an ActiveX object which
contains the Flash exploit as shown in the image below. (GReAT, 2017) The Flash object contains
an ActionScript which is responsible for extracting the exploit using a custom packer. This custom
packer has been seen in other FinSpy exploits, according to Kaspersky. The main exploit is a
memory corruption vulnerability that is within the
com.adobe.tvsdk.mediacore.BufferControlParameters class. If successful, attackers will gain read

Three Musketeers Thesis
One for all, and all for one! The most famous and noticeable line in the Three Musketeers folklore
legacy whether it be from the films to the original book by Alexandre Dumas. Although this famous
line has been used throughout many reworks and adaptations of the three musketeers, many films
have not followed in the footsteps of the original book and have changed things to best appeal to
the audience. Most noticeably we see this in the 1993 Musketeer movie directed by Stephen Herek
that proclaimed that the main character D Artagnan, father was killed to set a tense mood. However
with that being said, there are also many things that reflect the time in which the book was written
and also the social and political hierarchy and structure of... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

As previously mentioned, the hierarchy of which the French population was separated was from
that of religious figures being the highest to common folk were placed at the rock bottom of the
pyramid. In the film this can be interpreted by the open fields and the villages in which people
were trading their crops for money or buying them among themself to live off of. France just like
any other place during this time in Europe and also worldwide was mostly agricultural as the first
industrial revolution started in the 1700 s by that of England first. With that being said the
implementation of showing the countryside and the social interactions between D artagnan and the
locals was another way that Stephen Herek subtly shown how France was during this time.
Ironically the whole plot of the Three Musketeers is a socio political statement in itself. If not
understood by reading the book by Alexandre Dumas and watching the films, the main plot is that
Cardinal Richelieu plots against the king of France, Louis XIII. In particular this film puts it in
which Cardinal Richelieu plots to form an alliance with England as France is about to go to war.
For the Cardinal to even be able to do something

Archbishop Oscar Romero
Archbishop Oscar Arnulfo Romero is best known as a martyr of the Salvadorian people. He was
a person who truly embodied what he preached. During his lifetime, he spoke out for the
voiceless, made an effort to change the Salvadorian society during the war and carried out God s
message without thinking twice. Oscar Arnulfo Romero was born on August 15, 1917 in Ciudad
Barrios, San Miguel, in the eastern part of El Salvador (Brockman 30). His father was Santos
Romero, a telegraph operator and his mother was Guadalupe de Jesus(Brockman 30). He grew up

This quote basically sums ups how he went about making his opinion known. He simply voiced
what he believed and that shows that he has a good emotional state and was motivated obviously
by something he strongly believed in. The most prevalent intelligence type in Romero s life
social intelligence because during the whole biography it is clear to asses that his main focus
was helping those who couldn t help themselves, speaking out for those who couldn t speak up
and reaching out to those looked over. He had a way of understanding and relating to the society
he was a part of and this might be due to the way in which he was raised which was in a very
humble, typical style. He could relate to those who he was reaching out to help. Other types of
intelligences he had were emotional intelligence because he could empathize with the people
and also verbal intelligence because he had an excellent use of words to get his point across as is
evident in his homilies and letters. Overall, Oscar Romero s intelligence played an important role
on his self concept and his relationship with others. Archbishop Oscar Romero s self concept I
think is pretty good because he isn t afraid to go against the norm and stand up for what

The Employment Laws Of The Workplace
With the modern complexity of employment laws, the necessity for recording a conversation or
meeting in the workplace often presents itself. With today s technology, the opportunity
presents itself more easily than ever before. However, because employees rights of privacy are
severely limited in the workplace, what, if anything, may an employee legally record in the
workplace? Any lawful permitted use of electronic recording devices by employees in the
workplace will likely be for protected concerted activity and provided by В§ 7 of the National
Labor Relations Act ( NLRA ).
As mentioned above, in the private workplace, the employer practically has absolute power in
limiting the conduct, activity, and rights of employees. A fundamental precept of labor law is that
working time is for work. Since audio and video recording, as well as photography have great
potential for consuming work time and distracting employees from accomplishing their work tasks,
many employers promulgate policies which disallow such recording.
In a recent case in December of 2015, and one of first impression, the National Labor Relations
Board ( NLRB or Board ) issued a decision in Whole Foods Market, Inc., 363 NLRB No. 87 (Dec.
24, 2015), finding for the first time that blanket or unqualified employer policies which prohibit
employees from recording company meetings or conversations with other employees are unlawfully
overbroad. However, the Board stated that certain circumstances do exist

Springfield Descriptive Paragraph
As I stepped out of the car, the smell of the hot asphalt hit me. I heard the low rumble of voices and
the high pitched screaming of babies. Mothers were hustling their children toward the stadium.
Little boys with their favorite team plastered on their shirts ran past me, eager to enter the ballpark.
Nearing the ticket booth, the smell of popcorn wafted through the gates. This was the ultimate way
to spend a summer night, at a baseballgame.
After paying our way to get in, my dad and I found our seats. It was my birthday and my father

was on it s way over the fence into the crowd towards me. I raised my glove up with a small hope
of catching it. Come on son, you got this. This one s yours! yelled my dad. A second later I felt
something smack my glove. I was in utter disbelief, and everyone cheered around me. This night
had gotten so much better than it already was. The game was over, we had won. Fireworks
erupted above the stadium and lit up the night sky like it was daytime. We did it son, we did it!
We re going to the playoffs! yelled my dad excitedly. It was a surreal moment. Upon exiting the

seen day and night in the sky. It is now known as the crab nebula, and is a breeding ground for
smaller stars. Another way for a supernova to be created, is when a white dwarf siphons off
hydrogen from another star to the point where it will become unstable and explode.
What is left after the huge explosion is another dwarf star, a neutron star, or the fierce black hole. A
neutron star is about the size of a city like Los Angeles, but has the mass of about two suns. This
means it is incredibly dense and has an unbelievable gravitational pull, almost 2 billion times that
on earth. In fact, this pull is so strong that it bends radiation and allows astronomers to see the back

(1) How do the films discussed link the concepts of ‚crime and ‚travelling ? What makes
travelling such an interesting phenomenon within the crime genre? Please also refer to the
narrative structure of crime films. Travelling has used to be an activity that entirely differs from
our everyday life, an escape in order to find authenticity. Travelling forces people from their
comfort zones and lead to new emotions, new actions, new perceptions, acquired through the
prism of another reality. For a long time it has been a privilege available only for a group of
eligible. Not surprisingly, the idea of interconnectivity between crime and travelling is highly
exploited in the movie industry exposing the gap between expectations and reality, between dream
world and real world. Both the notion of crime and travelling are built around the idea of
observing spaces and places, people and their actions with the possibility of expectations being
destroyed at any moment. Often tourists try to plan their trips with the smallest details to avoid any
unpredictable situation, especially nowadays in the time of the easy accessible images and reviews
about destinations. They are very persistent in their attempts to establish an order on a world. Crime
stories are also concerned with this idea. The most thrilling effect in movies can be achieved by
putting crime and travelling into one story. When touristic stereotypes are destroyed, anticipated
actions are not performed, seeming strong

that I have watched the Indians. I would be seeing the Eagles for the first time ever.
I expected a much larger crowd but as many times this season it was not the case, but those who

side of things.

Heading into the second quarter this one looked very even, even though the Eagles offense was yet
to soar, while the Indians offense had shown a glimpse of going on the warpath a couple of times.
Just twenty six seconds into the second quarter Moore fumble the ball and scooping it up and
going about fifty six yards for the score for the Eagles was Chip Parker. Parker easily outran the
offense, who looked like a fighter, who had just been tagged by a Ali right cross. The pointafter
kick was missed causing this to stay a 13 7 Eagles lead.
The Indians offense would work the ball down to the Eagles thirty four yard line and from there
Chambers electrified the crowd, with a Archie Griffin like run, back when he was running for the
buckeyes. The point after kick gave the Indians the lead at 14 13, with 5:31left in the half. On the
drive the Eagles defense again had problems tackling and this really led to a lot of extra yards for
the Indians.
With 3:41 it appeared their was pass interference on the Indians receiver, but the ref said the ball
was tipped before the interference happened and this led to a interception by Moore on the pass
thrown by Ryan Venable. This play really seem to change the game and in my way of thinking the
Eagles fought hard but never overcame this call.
Defense was big again, with :27 seconds left in the half, when Moore was taken down by #54(Not

Freud s Worst Nightmare Perfect Sex Dream
In her article, author Barbra Creed discusses a wide range of theories and assumptions on Freud
and his relation to modern cinema, memories, and the development of the original horror film. She
begins by describing Freud and his obsession with horror. She briefly mentions some of his case
histories that entail themes of sexual abuse, hysteria, bestiality, phobias, and perversity, but
primarily continues to inform us of his hatred of cinema. Considering Freud was born in 1856, he
was just reaching his mid 50 s when early cinema really took off. Films and movies became the
forefront of entertainment, the must see attraction by audiences across the country, and the newest
daring art form. This was, however, an art form that Sir Sigmund Freud wanted nothing to do with.
Despite having several films be inspired by his theories and writings, Freud refused to become
involved with films and filmmaking, and even avoided being captured on camera in his daughter s
home videos. The reason for this hatred however, is neglected and left questionable by Creed.
The author points out that early cinema was known for stretching the boundaries on narrative
filmmaking by incorporating elements of sex, desire, and eroticism, which were, of course, main
focuses of Freud s countless writings. She continues her analysis by efficiently describing the
modern self and the divided self: two

Ethnic Heritage Is Not Most Important Thing Essay
My ethnic heritage is not highly influential in the way I define myself because I do not have a
single ethnicity. On my mom s side of the family, I am ethnically Scottish, Welsh, and Cherokee.
My dad s side of the family is ethnically German with a little Irish mixed in. Because of all of
these ethnicities, I identify myself as ethnically American. I have always celebrated American
holidays like Independence Day, Veteran s Day, Thanksgiving, Mother s Day, and Father s Day,
and I do not celebrate holidays specific to one of my previously listed ethnicities. I enjoy watching
American sports like football and watching American teams succeed international competitions like
the Olympics and the World Cup, and I enjoy American foods like hamburgers, hot dogs, and
Chick fil a. In the way I view the world, ethnicityis not the most important thing because I live in a
country full of different ethnic heritages. It is interesting and fun to meet people of other
ethnicities and learn about them. Various ethnicities are what created the United States I know
today, so learning about different ethnicities broadens my view of the United States as a whole
and gives me a small glimpse into life in different countries. Ethnicity is important in shaping who
a person is and what they believe, but it does not have a strong influence on how I see myself.

Sponges Sponges are colonies many tiny individual animal cells. If a living sponge is crushed,
all of the animal cells living in it can survive on their own and find themselves again to
regenerate themselves into a whole sponge once again. Sponges are often thought of as

loggerhead sponges that are taller than an average human, other shapes include sponges shaped

Use Of Force And The Police Force Essay
The Use of Police Force
Police encounter different situations in their daily activities. The diverse nature of the
circumstances implies that the members of the police also have to adopt different strategies of
handling them. In some circumstances, the police have to use force as a way of addressing the
situations. Unfortunately, when the police apply their own discretion in the use of force, the
outcomes of this approach may end in fatalities or serious injuries. In recent times, diverse
opinions have emerged in relation to the use of discretionary force. In some quarters, the use of
discretionary force has been hailed as beneficial while in other case such as the 2008 Shooting of
Tyler Cassidy, concerns have been applied concerning the appropriateness of the strategy. Against
this backdrop, this essay examines whether the police use of force is a necessary component of the
job and describes the benefits and limitations connected to the discretionary use of force by the
police.
A striking aspect that differentiates the profession of policing from other forms of professions
entails the legal authority bestowed upon the police to use force should situations call for it
(Greenfeld 2012). According to 2009 Victorian police data, the situations involving the use of
force was encountered in every 2.5 hours and for every 49hours, there was a critical incident
related to the use of force by police (Office of Police Integrity 2009). These statistics show that at

What Does It Mean To Be A Feminism Essay
The F Word
What does it mean to be a feminist. The meaning has taken many twists and turns throughout the
various decades it s been through. Society has transposed, humiliated and belittled the true purpose
of the word Feminism. Often, when we hear the word feminist, most people associate it with the
stereotypical image of an angry protester running in her bra down the streets. Or perhaps the image
of an Ugly philosopher who is angry for not receiving male attention. Feminism still exists because
women still do not have equal rights to men, in New Zealand or globally. I would like to re
establish the rightful definition of Feminism.
When a vote was released in the united states regarding gender equality among women, 41%
voted yes and 59% voted no. However, the backlash of this vote stated that it was Unfair and
simply filled with feminists and Gender Snobs . Any woman who openly states that she is a
feminist is automatically judged and labelled as Man hater and a radical female . The real
definition of a feminist is the advocacy of women s rights on the ground of the equality of the sexes

rights for women? ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Persuasive Letter On Social Justice
Dear Ms. Haynes, As you may know, the fight towards social justice has been going on long
enough. Through recent events such as taking a knee during the national anthem or the white
supremacist rallies; tension has grown to new heights. Although it may be difficult to fight the
issue of social justice within our divided nation, I believe there is a solution that could help build a
foundation towards equality. An issue that isn t often highlighted is how troubled youth will find
themselves in trouble with the law at a young age and end up being reincarcerated within a vicious
cycle of bad behavior with no positive influences. Another issue that I would like to discuss is food
insecurity within the United States. Primarily in big cities, food insecurity is a problem that
must be addressed in order to provide a healthy future for our community as a whole. A solution I
ve come up with is able to tackle both of these issues head on and hopefully provide a healthier
and safer community for us Colorado residence. It has come to me that the youth that finds
themselves lost within our court systems have not necessarily had the proper influences to allow
them to be productive members of our society. This is why I propose that these teens should be

After extensive last minute digging, I finally found a manager who trusted me enough to supply

uncover from my employer, but it is a start. Wal Mart uses the SMART system. Because of the
way it is spelled I can only assume that it is an acronym. I have been searching for over an hour on
Google.com and finally produced some meager results, but here they are.
Background
From the results produced, I am at the deduction that SMART is not an acronym after all. SMART

Training usually takes less than one day. (Inventory FAQ)
Weaknesses of SMART
In all actuality, these are mostly just minor annoyances. Firstly, the system s on hand counts only
update once every two hours. This may be because of the huge amounts of data that need to be
updated, but customers get angry when the on hand says 25 and one can t be found. My second
complaint is that the system has no way of recognizing theft. Again, this produces wrong on hand
counts which sometimes become negatives, and is an overall pain to figure out what is actually
wrong. I guess one could say my main complaint against the SMART system is human error. But
what program can completely remove it?
Possible Improvements
I think the best solution for this problem would be removal of human interaction, but I realize
that this is not possible. Therefore, my second proposition would be not allowing just any
Associate to operate the Telxon. I have been there a total of 4 months and I can change prices and
inventory counts at my leisure. I m sure you can imagine the havoc that could be wreaked if I

A Clean Well-Lighted Place Essay
In A Clean Well Lighted Place by Ernest Hemingway, there are characters in the story that has
some conflicts with each other. The conflict is based on the young waiter and the older waiter.
There are three reasons how they bump heads with each other. The first reason is how the author
s main purpose deals with these two conflicts. The second reason is because of the way the
young is dealing the story. The final reason is the way the old is dealing with the story. Although
there are some similarities in this story, but there are some differences between the young verses
the old. First and foremost, the author s main purpose dealing with the young verses the old in the
story. The author discussed the views of an older person with a younger person. In this case, the
people that he used were the younger and the older waiter. The older waiter was one of the main
characters in this story that the author used to describe the main purpose of his writing. The waiter
stated in A Clean Well Lighted Place that the younger waiter could not stand up with dignity, that he
was nothing of a man, and that it was nothing that the young waiter knew too well (Hemingway 5).

Strip Searches Persuasive Essay
Strip Searches Should Be Illegal Ontario police officers often search civilians for evidence of a
crime and they employ various methods to do so. However the method of using a strip search has
become outdated and unnecessary in modern society. It is time for the practice of strip searching
people to be stopped by the OntarioProvincial Police(OPP), even if it is a justified search. The
people of Canada should be protected from these searches as they have the right to privacy and
protection from invasive search practices. The Charter of Rights and Freedoms even has a section
on protecting against unreasonable searches , found in section 7 of the charter. If that is the case,
why should the OPP be allowed to infringe on our rights through strip searches? The fact that in a
modern society an illegal method of searchingcivilians is still being used is ridiculous. We have
the technology to find and use less invasive methods of searching people that also abide by the
law. The strip search, being such an invasive form of searching someone is humiliating and
subjecting people to it should be stopped. There was a ruling in 2001 by the Supreme Court of
Canada, which said that it was humiliating. The exact quote was Strip searching is inherently
humiliating and degrading, the Supreme Court of Canada ruled in a landmark case 15 years ago,
and should only be done when there are reasonable grounds (Jacques). The fact that a strip search is

Functionalism In Spy Movie
Functionalism in Spy Movie
Section I
The movie I have chosen for this assignment is Spy directed by Paul Feig. The movie highlights
serious concerns of gender discrimination, which invite a critical sociological theory. Whether or
not women contribute to the stability of the society is the main question this movie seeks to answer.
I chose the functionalism perspective (otherwise known as the functionalist perspective). Emile
Durkheim formulated the theory after taking interest in how the society remains stable or how
social order is achieved. In other words, the theory is concerned with the macro level society.
Functionalism looks at each segment of the society in terms of its contributions to the overall good
health of the society. This means that the society should not be taken as the total of its constituent
parts; instead, each of these constituent parts should be looked at as functioning to achieve the
stability of the whole society (Arruza 10). Put simply, the society is the same as an organism whose
body parts have critical functions that lead to the overall health of the ... Show more content on

because of their sex. Such patriarchal and chauvinistic reasoning does not mean well for the

Male characters in the movie believe that the desk duty should be left for women. However, there
is only a single woman on the mission: Cooper. Her male colleagues sexually harass her to the
extent that she cannot concentrate on her duties. Instead of running away from the desk duty like
other members of the CIA team, Cooper decides to use it as an opportunity to prove to the men that

Dr. Ruiz defines interpersonal discrimination to be actions taken by individuals or small groups to
deny something to members of an out group (Lecture, Ruiz, 02/25/2016). In Cox s article, he
mentions how other minority groups such as Latinos, Asian Americans, or Hispanics have secured
nominations. (Cox, 2). Cox also states that there is this universal appeal for using white actors in
films (Cox, 2). The lack of diversity is astonishing and poorly reflects the diversity The Academy
strives for. To further illustrate this discrimination, Keegan, Poindexter, and Whipp addressed the
membership requirements for Academy voters. Their article states that changing the dominantly
white, male voting population was impossible to reach because of the academy s stringent
membership requirements and the underrepresentation of women and minorities in the
entertainment industry (Keegan, Poindexter, Whipp, 2). This same article had a quote from New

Poindexter Whipp, 2). Gruttadaro openly excluded black actors because of their acting skills.
Because the film industry is comprised of white males, it is not a surprise to see individuals of
their same race dominating the nominations. Actors and actresses are not the only ones where this

Wedgwood was born 1730 and was not like the rest of the young children of his generation as
Wedgwood s family was part of a group called the Dissenters. The Dissenters are a collection of

Capitalist Business Case Study
1. My church is set up very similar to a capitalist business in many different ways. One of these
ways is we take collection every Sunday. I see taking collection as similar to how the government
taxes. We use the collection in the church to keep it running and make improvements, just as the
government uses our taxes. If the church needs something fixed or wants to renovate, they use the
money collected in collection. The church also uses this money to pay for utility bills, and to pay
the pastor and any other paid positions in the church. Another way my church is similar to a
capitalist business is, before making any major decisions concerning money, it is first run by the

they vote.

Our church mirrors democratic governments in many different ways. The first way is how it is set
up into different categories. We have the pastor, the elders, the deacons, and the secretary. These
different positions also have people under them just in case of an emergency. Just like the President
has a vice president just in case something happens. All of these different rolls in the church
compare very closely to our government. The elders make most of the decisions, then they run it
by the pastor, and then the congregation votes. An example of this is when we have a guest
speaker in the church, or are doing construction, or renovation. This is a very democratic way of
running things. We also have a business meeting every year with all the members of the church to

From the roots of the HSC Chemistry course, we are conditioned to the concept of a Galvanic Cell.
It is essentially a circuit containing a Positive Cathode where reduction reactions occur and a

as the director. One of the most significant act and scene in the whole play is Act I Scene V. The
film work of Hamletorchestrated by the director really focuses on being exactly as the written play
by William Shakespeare. The written work of Hamlet and the movie directed by Franco Zeffirelli
have many similar scenes. Act I Scene V is one of the most important... Show more content on

In movie version of Hamlet there is a lot of emphasis put into the feelings Hamlet has towards his
mother. During the movie, there is lot of physical presence shown on screen when Hamlet and his
Gertrude begin to argue. The interpretation of Franco Zeffirelli propose that further plot
development due to the fact that Hamlet s character is being given more internal conflict to
overcome, which also connects to the hypothesis that Gibson s Hamlet is stronger, both physically
and mentally, in comparison to the original Hamlet.
Also, Gibson s Hamlet being stronger shows the impact of the setting on the story of Hamlet,
because everyone cast appears either healthier or stronger than one would imagine them from
Shakespeare s original Hamlet. Plus, in the original play there are references made about the
heavy headed revel that causes other nations to clepe us drunkards and with swinish phrase
(Hamlet I.iv.21 23). Shakespeare s Hamlet is becoming enraged thinking about his Uncle
tarnishing the reputation of his nation with his excessive drinking and partying. However, Gibson
s Hamlet shows an efficiently operating town with broken barriers between social classes and
small gardens and farms. In the original Hamlet not a lot of information is given about the general
public, but what is known is that Hamlet does not mix with paupers except for the traveling theater
group. The two pictures of Hamlet s world are very different from one

The Girl-Personal Narrative
It was May, two years ago. I walked into a room filled with girls, each accompanied by their mom
or dad. My mom, dressed in a nice sweater and black pants, pulled me up to a table with a woman
sitting in front of it. This woman looked in her 30 s and was wearing a light blue dress. She said
Please fill out this form and feel free to take a seat while you wait. My motherdragging me along,
walked to another table and sat down. I proceeded to sit next to her. It was obvious I was nervous.
My sister stood next to my chair telling me I was going to do fine. This was the first time I had
auditioned for The Fulton Theater.
I pulled out a folder from a plaid bag I was carrying. The folder had a picture of me on it and inside
there were more. Under ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
I knew no one in this vertical line, with the exception of one girl. That was my friend Ally. We
had worked together before and she waved to me from the back of the line. I waved back. The
woman started to walk up the stairs, so I followed. When we got to the end of the narrow
staircase there was a door. It was painted black, but some of the paint had chipped away leaving
tiny white spots. The woman opened the door and let the first girl in. I could hear her singing
through the walls. She sang super‐cali‐fragil‐istic‐expi‐ali‐docious for about a
minute and walked out of the room. I knew that I was next and started shaking harder than
before. I walked into the room and walked to a X on the floor. There were 3 people in the room. A
woman, wearing a floral dress, and two men, both bald and wearing t shirts.
They asked me my name and my age. I replied Sophie Reusswig and I am 13 years old. They wrote
on a mini notepad sitting in front of both of them. They told me to start, so I did. I sang with all
my heart and they didn t stop me, which I expected they would. When I finished they asked me if I
knew Castle on a Cloud . I told them I did. Then they started to go through a large pile of papers. I
said I have it in my folder if you need. They asked me if I would sing it for them. I responded that I

A Court Of Mist And Fury
Imagine you are flung into a completely different life and body. Feyre has survived Under the
Mountain. She now has to adjust to life as an immortal Fae and war may be approaching. A

Spectroscopy Of Triclosan Lab
Part One: Spectroscopy of Triclosan
Experimental:
To determine the Concentration of triclosan in an antibacterial hand soap in experiment C, a
collection of stock solutions were made. The solutions included sodium nitrate, 4 sulfanilic acid,
sodium hydroxide, triclosan, and a glycine buffer. An antibacterial soapsample made from 0.4382 g
of the green Dial soap and was placed into a 50 ml beaker. Approximately 20 ml of 0.01 M sodium
hydroxide solution was added. The mixture was placed in a sonic bath for 5 minutes and then
transferred to a 50 ml volumetric flask. An additional 10 ml of the sodium hydroxide solution
was added and the flask was filled to the line with .01 M sodium hydroxide. This is the test
sample. A control was made using only deionized water. A series of triclosan dilutions were
prepared from the original stock solution. The stock was mixed to have varying concentrations of
triclosan: 10 mg/L, 20 mg/L, 30 mg/L, and 40 mg/L. This was done using a variety of volumetric ...

This knowledge is important when developing future experiments using triclosan. To begin
experiment G, the same process described earlier was used to create a solution of Triclosan. A
sample of 0.0225g of triclosan was used in this solution along with 0.5 ml of 50% NaOH. The
mixture is diluted with distilled water and ready to be tested. The pH of this solution was then
measured using a pH meter and put into the spectrometer to get a spectra of the solution. The
triclosan sample is then mixed with different amounts of NaOH and HCl to change the pH.
Eleven samples were made at pH levels ranging from twelve to two. At each pH, a sample is
taken and put into a calibrated spectrometer to measure absorbance. A spectra is made for each pH
and combined using Excel to generate a spectrum overlay. Lastly the lab is properly cleaned, and
all equipment put

Personality Analysis Of Stephanie Tanner In Full House And...
This character personality analysis analyzes the character of Stephanie Tanner from the prominent
television shows Full House and Fuller House with Erik Erikson s eight stages theory, which
consists of eight stages that a person goes through from infancy to adulthood that positively or
negatively effect personality development. This analysis specifically uses stages four, five, and six
to apply to Stephanie Tanner, as stages before or after are not able to be completed with present
knowledge about the character. The paper begins with an explanation of the eight stages theory, and
then goes on to apply the stages to Stephanie Tanner.

In this stage, children enter school, and their teacher becomes an important figure in their lives.
During this stage, the child s peer group, such as their classmates, becomes much more significant,
and the child begins to feel the need to win approval by displaying typical abilities that society
constructs. If the child is encouraged in their initiative attempts, they develop a stronger sense of
confidence in their ability to achieve set goals, but if the child is unable to develop the set skill,
they begin to feel inferior.
The fifth stage is the identity versus role confusion stage, in which adolescents search for a sense of
self and personal identity through exploration of personal values and goals. This stages represents
the transition from childhood to adulthood. Erikson claims that two separate identities are
connected with this stage: the sexual and the occupational. Failure to create a sense of identity
during this stage can lead to role confusion.
The sixth stage is the intimacy versus isolation stage, which occurs in young adulthood. During this
stage, people begin to venture into more serious and long term relationships. If the completion of
this stage is successful, a sense of commitment and safety are achieved, while if the completion of
this stage is unsuccessful, a sense of isolation and loneliness can

Negative Discrimination Of Tattoos
45 million American have at least one tattoo, says a survey conducted in 2016 by Statistic Brain (
Tattoo Statistics ). That s 45 million people who face discrimination every day because they made a
choice about what they wanted to do to their own body. There are many negative connotations
affiliated with tattoos. Some people associate tattoos with gangs or other violent organizations,
while others believe that having a tattoomakes you uneducated and a delinquent. Whatever the
case is tattoos have a bad reputation in America. However people with tattoos should be treated
with the same respect and should be able to have the same opportunities as their peers. Having
tattoos gives you less options for work and other career aspirations. Many employers will not hire
people with body art, in fact a study showed that 58 percent of employers said that they would be
less likely to hire an employee with with a body modification(Sawyer [page 62]). An individual
with tattoos can have the same qualifications as someone without however when given a picture
of a potential employee with and without tattoos, the person with tattoos was constantly ranked
lower ( Ink blots ). Even if someone with tattoos does get hired they may be asked to cover them
up by wearing long sleeves and/or pants. This happened to policeman Michael Riggs, who had
tattoos from his time serving in the US army. He was required to wear a long sleeves shirt and
long pants to cover up his tattoos in the heat

English Essay Chapter 1
Hobbling into A4 for his scheduled detention, Mycroft nearly laughed in disbelief. A few months
ago, this room would have been full to the brim with misbehaved children, the population so high
that most students could not find chairs to accommodate them, but rather stood up for the full hour.
It was getting to the point where his fellow students were racing to detention, just to guarantee
themselves a seat. Now, in front of him sat merely four equally glum students.
The fact that the academic year was drawing to a close, and the more profanely behaved students
had worked out that the worst the teachers could be bothered to do was to make a phone call to
your parents documenting the incident and even then, this was hardly done any more ... Show more

Tugging his headphones out, he turned around, expecting to see one of the school s notorious
dimwits teasing him again.
Instead he locked eyes with the boy behind him, who grinned deviously and stared at the fallen
paper aeroplane that had fallen at the side of Mycroft s desk.
Mycroft couldn t refuse how could he ignore that huge, boyish smile? He couldn t detect any
malice whatsoever in the boy s actions, and was instantly smitten by his classmate s gorgeous
appearance. It was then that Mycroft made the extremely rare decision to go along with what
ever this stranger was up to. He proceeded to pick up the note and smooth it out carefully on his
desk. The note simply read Hi, I m Greg, with a comical smiley face next to it.
Mycroft turned around again, and shot him a look that had sent a few students in the past running,
desperate to keep up his iceman façade in front of this devilishly handsome stranger. Mycroft, he
mouthed uneasily.
Clearly not put off by his callous demeanour, Greg tucked a loose strand of hair behind his ear and
continued to bite the end of his pencil.
Hey, do you want to get coffee after this? It s on me.
Mycroft contemplated this for a moment, he d never been asked out in his life, let alone by
someone so conventionally attractive. But then again, Greg knew nothing of his personality.
Do you make a habit, Gregory, of propositioning random strangers for coffee with awfully made
paper aeroplanes?

How Industries Compete in the Textile Industry
Firms in the textile industry can compete using pricing or non pricing strategies. Pricing strategies
involves the use and manipulation of prices to increase market share and reduce potential and
existing competition in the textile industry. Non pricing strategies on the other hand refer to all the
alternatives, excluding price, that a firm uses to achieve the same objectives.
One of the most common pricing strategies used in the textile industry is the use of limit pricing.
This involves a firm setting a low enough price to deter new entrants from coming into the textile
industry. For example, a firm would set the price of their products below the estimated average cost
of the new entrant thus making the new entrant encounter a loss ... Show more content on

Successful adverts would mean that the consumers will buy products from the firm that had
advertised and this will increase their customer base and possibly profits. Other firms will also
advertise heavily and the success will depend on which advert caught the attention of the consumer.
Furthermore, advertising may increase the demand for a good and may make the demand for that
good inelastic. The inelastic nature of the good will then allow firms to raise price in order to cover
the costs of the advertising. However, advertising can be very expensive and deciding on the right
methods of advertising may be very difficult. Furthermore, the success of the advert depends on the
action of the other firms. If the other firms also decide to increase their advertising expenditure,
then the firms may not be able to catch the attention of as many consumers as they intended. This
would mean that the advertising was unsuccessful hence not promoting competition.
Another non pricing strategy that a firm may adopt is developing their products so that their
products are unique compared to rival firms products and customers would rather buy the unique
products than the ordinary ones. For example, in the textile industry, people usually look for a
particular type of fashion E.G. collared or non collared, tight T shirts or maybe even short sleeved
shirts as compared to long sleeve shirts. Firm in the textile industry can change their products to
suite the tastes and fashions

  • 2. Using Microsoft Excel And Microsoft Word A quartic equation is a fourth order polynomial equation of the form. Shortly after the discovery of a method to solve the cubic equation, Lodovico Ferrari (1522 1565), a student of Cardano, found a way to solve the quartic equation. His solution is a testimony to both the power and the limitations of elementary algebra. The objective of this project is to analyze a polynomialof degree four via various attributes using Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word. I was assigned a nuumber in class that resembles a fucntion provided on the list. An end behavior on a graph basically talks about the tailends of the graph. Looking at my graph i can come to a conclusion that the left side of my graph is going upward so F(x) is approching positive infinity. The left side isnt pointing upward or downward so i had to look at my equation to determine what f(x) is. Since the leading coefficient is negative the right side of the graph is going down , so f(x) approches negative infinity. Local extrema is basically all local maximums and minimums on a functions graph. Local extrema occurs at criticla points on the graph where the derivative is zero or undefined. To find the exact number of a local extrema using your polynomial , first find the first derivative of f using the power rule. Then you will set the derivative to zero and solve for x. The values you get are the critical points which is also your local extrema. To find the local extrema in your calculator all you have to do is enter the equation into Y=. Then hit GRAPH and look for the max value first. To find the max value just go to calculate and choose maximum. Then move your cursor to the left when they ask you for left bound and hit enter and it will tell you that you locked the position and just repeat the bounds for the right side too. When it asks for guess just hit enter and the coordinates of he max value will appear. I had atleast 4 local extrema. A zero of a function is an input value that produces an output of zero and can also be referred to as, a root. An examples of this would be f(x)= ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Sociocultural Theory in Early Childhood Development Essay Sociocultural is defined as relating to, or involving a combination of social (relating to human society) and cultural (taste in art and manners that are favored by a social group) factors. (Socialcultural , 2010) You might ask why we are defining these words. It gives a better understanding of Vygotsky beliefs that children seek out adults for interaction, beginning at birth, and that development occurs through these interactions. (Morrison, 2009 sec 14.6) I agree that his theory is the best process for learning. They are taught everything through social interaction no matter what it is. They are taught by example, by getting help with the task and are expected to be able to complete it by themselves. With this concept of learning every child is able to learn and evolve into completing activities independently and progressively from what they have learned. It is important that the environment for the child be set with ideas and task that will allow them too mentally, educationally and physically develop with or without adult and peer assistant. Children are taught to mimic things like sounds and action; by mimicking this will help teachers understand how a child learns and what they know. It is important to know what each child understand and what they can progress on from previous teachings; by having them explain what they are doing. Intersubjectivity is another concept of Lev Vegotsky individuals come to a task, problem, or conversation with their, own subjective ways of making sense of it . (Morrison, 2009 sec 14) This is for the child to verbally discuss their issue, to show that they understand what they are doing, and that they can talk themselves through a problem. All events in the movies are fictitious and any resemblance, however compelling, to any Hollywood movie is purely coincidental and accidental. The rate at which Bollywood standards have fallen, and continuously kept plummeting, would easily put the 1929 Great Depression to shame. That is a feat in itself, and thus deserves applause. The most famous and noticeable line in the Three Musketeers folklore legacy whether it be from the films to the original book by Alexandre Dumas. Although this famous line has been used throughout many reworks and adaptations of the three musketeers, many films have not followed in the footsteps of the original book and have changed things to best appeal to the audience. Most noticeably we see this in the 1993 Musketeer movie directed by Stephen Herek that proclaimed that the main character D Artagnan, father was killed to set a tense mood. France just like any other place during this time in Europe and also worldwide was mostly agricultural as the first industrial revolution started in the 1700 s by that of England first. With that being said the implementation of showing the countryside and the social interactions between D artagnan and the locals was another way that Stephen Herek subtly shown how France was during this time. With today s technology, the opportunity presents itself more easily than ever before. However, because employees rights of privacy are severely limited in the workplace, what, if anything, may an employee legally record in the workplace? Any lawful permitted use of electronic recording devices by employees in the workplace will likely be for protected concerted activity and provided by В§ 7 of the National Labor Relations Act ( NLRA ). As mentioned above, in the private workplace, the employer practically has absolute power in limiting the conduct, activity, and rights of employees. A fundamental precept of labor law is that working time is for work. Since audio and video recording, as well as photography have great potential for consuming work time and distracting employees from accomplishing their work tasks, many employers promulgate policies which disallow such recording. In a recent case in December of 2015, and one of first impression, the National Labor Relations Board ( NLRB or Board ) issued a decision in Whole Foods Market, Inc., 363 NLRB No. 87 (Dec. 24, 2015), finding for the first time that blanket or unqualified employer policies which prohibit employees from recording company meetings or conversations with other employees are unlawfully overbroad. What makes travelling such an interesting phenomenon within the crime genre? Please also refer to the narrative structure of crime films. Travelling has used to be an activity that entirely differs from our everyday life, an escape in order to find authenticity. Travelling forces people from their comfort zones and lead to new emotions, new actions, new perceptions, acquired through the prism of another reality. For a long time it has been a privilege available only for a group of eligible. Not surprisingly, the idea of interconnectivity between crime and travelling is highly exploited in the movie industry exposing the gap between expectations and reality, between dream world and real world. Both the notion of crime and travelling are built around the idea of observing spaces and places, people and their actions with the possibility of expectations being destroyed at any moment. Often tourists try to plan their trips with the smallest details to avoid any unpredictable situation, especially nowadays in the time of the easy accessible images and reviews about destinations. They are very persistent in their attempts to establish an order on a world. Crime stories are also concerned with this idea. This was my first trip to Carlisle and it would mark the first time since the 2015 season, that I have watched the Indians. I would be seeing the Eagles for the first time ever. I expected a much larger crowd but as many times this season it was not the case, but those who were there got to see a good competitive game, that was entertaining especially from the defensive side of things. Heading into the second quarter this one looked very even, even though the Eagles offense was yet to soar, while the Indians offense had shown a glimpse of going on the warpath a couple of times. Just twenty six seconds into the second quarter Moore fumble the ball and scooping it up and going about fifty six yards for the score for the Eagles was Chip Parker. Parker easily outran the offense, who looked like a fighter, who had just been tagged by a Ali right cross. The pointafter kick was missed causing this to stay a 13 7 Eagles lead. The Indians offense would work the ball down to the Eagles thirty four yard line and from there Chambers electrified the crowd, with a Archie Griffin like run, back when he was running for the buckeyes. The point after kick gave the Indians the lead at 14 13, with 5:31left in the half. On the drive the Eagles defense again had problems tackling and this really led to a lot of extra yards for the Indians. With 3:41 it appeared their was pass interference on the Indians receiver, but the ref said the ball was tipped before the interference happened and this led to a interception by Moore on the pass thrown by Ryan Venable. This play really seem to change the game and in my way of thinking the Eagles fought hard but never overcame this call. The book I am reading is All American boys by Jason Reynolds and Brendan Kiley. This book is about a young teenage African American boy getting physically assaulted by a white police officer. All American boys is a fiction book, however it has many life lesson and real life events that we may not always be aware of. Despite the school board s recent segment regarding the lack of fuel that fiction provides, fiction should remain in the school s curriculum. Freud s Worst Nightmare Perfect Sex Dream Brendan Gosse Cynthia Miller Making Monsters October 9, 2014 Freud s Worst Nightmare Perfect Sex Dream In her article, author Barbra Creed discusses a wide range of theories and assumptions on Freud and his relation to modern cinema, memories, and the development of the original horror film. She begins by describing Freud and his obsession with horror. She briefly mentions some of his case histories that entail themes of sexual abuse, hysteria, bestiality, phobias, and perversity, but primarily continues to inform us of his hatred of cinema. Considering Freud was born in 1856, he was just reaching his mid 50 s when early cinema really took off. Films and movies became the forefront of entertainment, the must see attraction by audiences across the country, and the newest daring art form. This was, however, an art form that Sir Sigmund Freud wanted nothing to do with. Despite having several films be inspired by his theories and writings, Freud refused to become involved with films and filmmaking, and even avoided being captured on camera in his daughter s home videos. The reason for this hatred however, is neglected and left questionable by Creed. The author points out that early cinema was known for stretching the boundaries on narrative filmmaking by incorporating elements of sex, desire, and eroticism, which were, of course, main focuses of Freud s countless writings. She continues her analysis by efficiently describing the modern self and the divided self: two ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 25. Use Of Force And The Police Force Essay The Use of Police Force Police encounter different situations in their daily activities. The diverse nature of the circumstances implies that the members of the police also have to adopt different strategies of handling them. In some circumstances, the police have to use force as a way of addressing the situations. Unfortunately, when the police apply their own discretion in the use of force, the outcomes of this approach may end in fatalities or serious injuries. In recent times, diverse opinions have emerged in relation to the use of discretionary force. In some quarters, the use of discretionary force has been hailed as beneficial while in other case such as the 2008 Shooting of Tyler Cassidy, concerns have been applied concerning the appropriateness of the strategy. Against this backdrop, this essay examines whether the police use of force is a necessary component of the job and describes the benefits and limitations connected to the discretionary use of force by the police. A striking aspect that differentiates the profession of policing from other forms of professions entails the legal authority bestowed upon the police to use force should situations call for it (Greenfeld 2012). According to 2009 Victorian police data, the situations involving the use of force was encountered in every 2.5 hours and for every 49hours, there was a critical incident related to the use of force by police (Office of Police Integrity 2009). Society has transposed, humiliated and belittled the true purpose of the word Feminism. Often, when we hear the word feminist, most people associate it with the stereotypical image of an angry protester running in her bra down the streets. Or perhaps the image of an Ugly philosopher who is angry for not receiving male attention. Feminism still exists because women still do not have equal rights to men, in New Zealand or globally. I would like to re establish the rightful definition of Feminism. When a vote was released in the united states regarding gender equality among women, 41% voted yes and 59% voted no. However, the backlash of this vote stated that it was Unfair and simply filled with feminists and Gender Snobs . Any woman who openly states that she is a feminist is automatically judged and labelled as Man hater and a radical female . Through recent events such as taking a knee during the national anthem or the white supremacist rallies; tension has grown to new heights. Although it may be difficult to fight the issue of social justice within our divided nation, I believe there is a solution that could help build a foundation towards equality. An issue that isn t often highlighted is how troubled youth will find themselves in trouble with the law at a young age and end up being reincarcerated within a vicious cycle of bad behavior with no positive influences. Another issue that I would like to discuss is food insecurity within the United States. Primarily in big cities, food insecurity is a problem that must be addressed in order to provide a healthy future for our community as a whole. A solution I ve come up with is able to tackle both of these issues head on and hopefully provide a healthier and safer community for us Colorado residence. It has come to me that the youth that finds themselves lost within our court systems have not necessarily had the proper influences to allow them to be productive members of our society. Firstly, the system s on hand counts only update once every two hours. My second complaint is that the system has no way of recognizing theft. However the method of using a strip search has become outdated and unnecessary in modern society. It is time for the practice of strip searching people to be stopped by the OntarioProvincial Police(OPP), even if it is a justified search. The people of Canada should be protected from these searches as they have the right to privacy and protection from invasive search practices. The movie highlights serious concerns of gender discrimination, which invite a critical sociological theory. Whether or not women contribute to the stability of the society is the main question this movie seeks to answer. I chose the functionalism perspective (otherwise known as the functionalist perspective). Emile Durkheim formulated the theory after taking interest in how the society remains stable or how social order is achieved. In other words, the theory is concerned with the macro level society. Functionalism looks at each segment of the society in terms of its contributions to the overall good health of the society. This means that the society should not be taken as the total of its constituent parts; instead, each of these constituent parts should be looked at as functioning to achieve the stability of the whole society (Arruza 10). • 39. Chem Speech Chem Speech Daniel George From the roots of the HSC Chemistry course, we are conditioned to the concept of a Galvanic Cell. It is essentially a circuit containing a Positive Cathode where reduction reactions occur and a Negative Anode, where oxidation reactions occur. Galvanic Cells operate with the basic principles of converting chemical energy into electrical energy via spontaneous reactions at the Anodeand Cathode. However, today we are looking Electrolytic cells. These operate with the function of converting electrical energy into chemical energy, forcing Chemical reactions to occur and contain a Negative Cathode and a Positive Anode. The final product is contaminated with both hypochlorite ions and NaCl. Due to the maintenance of the diaphragm and the purification of the final product required, the Diaphragm cell is very expensive to operate. Finally, the membrane cell is the most recent cell and is very similar to the diaphragm cell, but uses a PTFE (Teflon) polymer membrane instead of the asbestos diaphragm. In doing so it overcomes nearly all the limitations of the diaphragm cell, however, the cell is still very expensive and is a significant contributor to greenhouse gas emissions. The Teflon membrane is cationic selective, preventing the migration of Cl and OH ions, keeping the NaOH relatively pure. Therefore, through relative comparison of the three cells, we can conclude that; The Mercury Cell has the best yield out of all the cells (50%), but is let down by environmental and technical issues revolving around the Mercury ... Hamlet, Play and the Movie Essay examples Hamlet is a tragic play, written by William Shakespeare between 1599 and 1602, but as years have gone by, there have been made many movies produced in order to visually illustrate how the events of the play occurred. This allows the film director s interpretation of Hamlet to have an effect on the audience s understanding of the play, because they understand the play the same way as the director. One of the most significant act and scene in the whole play is Act I Scene V. The film work of Hamletorchestrated by the director really focuses on being exactly as the written play by William Shakespeare. In movie version of Hamlet there is a lot of emphasis put into the feelings Hamlet has towards his mother. During the movie, there is lot of physical presence shown on screen when Hamlet and his Gertrude begin to argue. The interpretation of Franco Zeffirelli propose that further plot development due to the fact that Hamlet s character is being given more internal conflict to overcome, which also connects to the hypothesis that Gibson s Hamlet is stronger, both physically and mentally, in comparison to the original Hamlet. Also, Gibson s Hamlet being stronger shows the impact of the setting on the story of Hamlet, because everyone cast appears either healthier or stronger than one would imagine them from Shakespeare s original Hamlet. Plus, in the original play there are references made about the heavy headed revel that causes other nations to clepe us drunkards and with swinish phrase (Hamlet I.iv.21 23). Shakespeare s Hamlet is becoming enraged thinking about his Uncle tarnishing the reputation of his nation with his excessive drinking and partying. However, Gibson s Hamlet shows an efficiently operating town with broken barriers between social classes and small gardens and farms. In the original Hamlet not a lot of information is given about the general public, but what is known is that Hamlet does not mix with paupers except for the traveling theater group. She said Please fill out this form and feel free to take a seat while you wait. My motherdragging me along, walked to another table and sat down. I proceeded to sit next to her. It was obvious I was nervous. My sister stood next to my chair telling me I was going to do fine. This was the first time I had auditioned for The Fulton Theater. This character personality analysis analyzes the character of Stephanie Tanner from the prominent television shows Full House and Fuller House with Erik Erikson s eight stages theory, which consists of eight stages that a person goes through from infancy to adulthood that positively or negatively effect personality development. This analysis specifically uses stages four, five, and six to apply to Stephanie Tanner, as stages before or after are not able to be completed with present knowledge about the character. The paper begins with an explanation of the eight stages theory, and then goes on to apply the stages to Stephanie Tanner. In this stage, children enter school, and their teacher becomes an important figure in their lives. During this stage, the child s peer group, such as their classmates, becomes much more significant, and the child begins to feel the need to win approval by displaying typical abilities that society constructs. If the child is encouraged in their initiative attempts, they develop a stronger sense of confidence in their ability to achieve set goals, but if the child is unable to develop the set skill, they begin to feel inferior. The fifth stage is the identity versus role confusion stage, in which adolescents search for a sense of self and personal identity through exploration of personal values and goals. This stages represents the transition from childhood to adulthood. Erikson claims that two separate identities are connected with this stage: the sexual and the occupational. Failure to create a sense of identity during this stage can lead to role confusion. The sixth stage is the intimacy versus isolation stage, which occurs in young adulthood. During this stage, people begin to venture into more serious and long term relationships. If the completion of this stage is successful, a sense of commitment and safety are achieved, while if the completion of this stage is unsuccessful, a sense of isolation and loneliness can ... A few months ago, this room would have been full to the brim with misbehaved children, the population so high that most students could not find chairs to accommodate them, but rather stood up for the full hour. It was getting to the point where his fellow students were racing to detention, just to guarantee themselves a seat. Now, in front of him sat merely four equally glum students. The fact that the academic year was drawing to a close, and the more profanely behaved students had worked out that the worst the teachers could be bothered to do was to make a phone call to your parents documenting the incident and even then, this was hardly done any more ... It was then that Mycroft made the extremely rare decision to go along with what ever this stranger was up to. He proceeded to pick up the note and smooth it out carefully on his desk. Mycroft turned around again, and shot him a look that had sent a few students in the past running, desperate to keep up his iceman faГ§ade in front of this devilishly handsome stranger. Pricing strategies involves the use and manipulation of prices to increase market share and reduce potential and existing competition in the textile industry. Non pricing strategies on the other hand refer to all the alternatives, excluding price, that a firm uses to achieve the same objectives. One of the most common pricing strategies used in the textile industry is the use of limit pricing. This involves a firm setting a low enough price to deter new entrants from coming into the textile industry. For example, a firm would set the price of their products below the estimated average cost of the new entrant thus making the new entrant encounter a loss ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Successful adverts would mean that the consumers will buy products from the firm that had advertised and this will increase their customer base and possibly profits. Other firms will also advertise heavily and the success will depend on which advert caught the attention of the consumer. Furthermore, advertising may increase the demand for a good and may make the demand for that good inelastic. The inelastic nature of the good will then allow firms to raise price in order to cover the costs of the advertising. However, advertising can be very expensive and deciding on the right methods of advertising may be very difficult. Furthermore, the success of the advert depends on the action of the other firms. If the other firms also decide to increase their advertising expenditure, then the firms may not be able to catch the attention of as many consumers as they intended. This would mean that the advertising was unsuccessful hence not promoting competition. Another non pricing strategy that a firm may adopt is developing their products so that their products are unique compared to rival firms products and customers would rather buy the unique products than the ordinary ones. For example, in the textile industry, people usually look for a particular type of fashion E.G. collared or non collared, tight T shirts or maybe even short sleeved shirts as compared to long sleeve shirts.
