Marijuana Should Not Go Without Suspicion
An indian hemp plant, by the name of marijuana, is the unlikely suspect of thousands of drug induced
accidents and/or deaths in Australia today, especially among teens. At first thought, many may believe
alcohol is the outright cause of such accidents, but at a closer look at the facts and figures one will
discover that marijuana should not go without suspicion. The vast amounts of chemicals of which
marijuana contains each have their own impacts unto the human body, not to mention the increasing
use of the drug among teens. It is here then obvious that marijuana should be the headline of this ad
campaign, in comparison to alcohol a much less substantial drug.
Romanticized by the teenage public, marijuana is seen as a harmless drug of ... Show more content on

In an attempt to get the most out of it , marijuana users have a tendency to inhale deeply and hold the
smoke for as long as possible to increase the effects of the drug, which then on worsens the damage to
the lungs. Another organ marijuana effectively destroys is the immune system of which alcohol has
not yet been seen to damage. Marijuana also contains some cancer causing ingredients that remain for
incredibly long in the body after the drug has been taken. Studies in 2008 have shown a link between
years of heavy marijuana use and brain abnormalities a large suspect of the long patterns of psychosis
in the users of the drug. Some other effects of marijuana use include: deformation of the sperm cells,
disrupted menstrual cycles, diminished mental functions, hereditary defects and, most prominently,
major depression and/or anxiety. Marijuana s unpleasant effects take away any user s quality of life,
let alone a small teen, and continues to have substantially larger impacts unto these children especially
in comparison to alcohol.
Even just one hit of marijuana can lead to your children s lives spiralling out of control a whorl wind
complex that is increasingly difficult to escape from. Packed with addictive ingredients, marijuana is
targeted towards the teens of today. Peer pressure makes drugs such as marijuana an inevitable

Hernan Cortez Accomplishments
Did you know that past explorers were known to travel for riches and fame? They just wanted to be
known, and be able to say they were there, and seen many things; or the accomplishments they have
made. For instance, Hernan Cortez was born in 1485 in Medellin, Spain. He was a Spanish
conquistador who defeated the Aztec Empire and claimed Mexico for Spain. He also studied at the
university of Salamanca. In 1504, he traveled to Santo Domingo and settled in a town called Azua and
served as a notary. In 1515, he joined the expedition of Cuba led by Diego Velazquez and served as
the mayor of Santiago. In 1518, he set sail to Mexico with eleven ships and five hundred men. By
1519, he reached the Mexican coast.
Some hardships Cortez faced included him becoming allies with natives, and others. he used deadly
force to conquer Mexico. He fought Tiaxacan and Cholula warriors. He marched to Tenochtitlan and
captured the ruler Montezuma II., although , he had to leave because the Spanish troops were coming
to arrest him for disobeying orders. But he did return later because the Spanish was set out by the
Aztecs. In 1515, he conquered the Aztecs and King Charles appointed him to be the governor of New
Spain. Some interesting facts about Hernan Cortez was that after he conquered the Aztecs, his
authority and position was questioned, and they also formed a rebellion against him. Between 1540
1547, he spent time being recognized for his achievements, and support from the Spanish royal courts.
Unlike modern day explorers like Neil Armstrong who studies science and have passion for things in

Neil Armstrong was born in Wapakoneta, Ohio on August 5, 1930. Neil Armstrong was the first man
to walk on the moon. After serving as naval aviator from 1949 to 1952 he joined the National
Advisory Committee Aeronautics (NACA) in 1955. His first assignment was with NACA Lewis
research center (NASA) in Cleveland. Over the next 17 years he was an engineer, test pilot, astronaut
and administrator for NACA and its successor agency, the national aeronautics and space
administration (NASA). Neil Armstrong became an astronaut in 1962. He was assigned a command
for Gemini 8 mission. Gemini was launched on March 16, 1966 and Armstrong

Biblical References of the Matrix Essay
Biblical References of the Matrix In their film, The Matrix, Andy and Larry Wachowski have included
many literary allusions and symbols to enhance the appeal of this groundbreaking science fiction film.
As incredible as the special effects and cinematography are in this film, the Wachowski brothers have
significantly bolstered the appeal of The Matrix by an elaborately constructed story spanning time and
reality. These allusions and symbols include references from infamous writers such as Lewis Carol,
Jung, John Bunyan and Descartes. However, the most meaningful and abundant references come from

The main plot of The Matrix is that Artificial Intelligence has taken over humanity. These human
created machines now harvest humans in crops in order to provide energy for them to survive. It is
known that the human body cannot survive without the mind, so the Artificial Intelligence has
designed a computer generated world in which the human mind can live and survive. This computer
generated world is known as the Matrix. It is a computerized simulation of life as we know it, or we
imagine we know it. What the movies postulates is a version of virtual reality so vast and tentacular as
to encompass the entire globe. 3 The story line of this film suggests that humans are not really living a
real life. It suggests that no human has every used their eyes, ears, muscles, or any other sense. As
Laurence Fishburne s character, Morpheus, puts it; the matrix is a computer generated dream world
built to keep us under control, in order to change a human being into [a battery]. 4 Realizing that the
main characters of this film are a few of the only humans functioning in the real world as we know it

Personal Narrative-Memoir s Shoot The Messenger
Yeah, I directed an episode of Haven in its last season. And that was something I had always been
working toward even before I worked on Haven. I ve shadowed directors as much as I could and as
long as I could in the hopes of one day getting to direct myself. And that actually came to pass, and the
experience was beyond my wildest dreams. It was just incredible. I loved it. I was terrified and just
completely overwhelmed the whole time with a combination of sheer terror and pure joy. It was
amazing. Then I assume that s something you d like to do more of in the future. Definitely. Definitely.
So in addition to directing, are you thinking one day you may do some writing? Yeah, I ve been doing

case that quickly pulls her into this rabbit hole of political intrigue and murder and sex and drugs and
all sorts of dangerous and wild stuff. So it s something very different. But I play an investigative
journalist her partner and so the two of us are trying to figure it all out the show starts out with a

Timeline of American Literature and Events Essay
King James I granted the Virginia Company of London a charter to create an English settlement in
North America in June 1606. Their goals were to find gold and determine a waterway which would
take them to the Orient. The Virginia Company set foot on Jamestown on May 14, 1607 to form the
Virginia English Colony. Approximately one third of the colonists survived the winter of the Starving
Time in 1609, and fifteen years later in 1624, Virginia became a crown colony when the king
dismissed the Virginia Company Charter due to the Algonquians attack which killed over 300 settlers.
Jamestown only survived because of a last minute warning but burned down in 1698. Many colonists
that survived celebrated May Day on May 1, 1628 with Thomas ... Show more content on

During a less religious time came the beginning of the Great Awakening, a religious revival
movement, in 1734. In the ten years following 1820, Monroe was re elected president, slavery was not
permitted north of the southern border of Missouri with congress dictating foreign slave trades as an
act of piracy, the true story of the whaling ship Essex influenced the writing of Moby Dick, and the
Republic of Liberia established a West African refuge for American slaves who have been set free.
Despite efforts to help freed American slaves find refuge, African Americans were killed for uniting to
lead a slave uprising in 1822. Later in 1825, Fanny Wright gave more efforts to abolish slavery and
established the Nashoba in Tennessee where slaves could earn their freedom. Slavery was adamantly
denounced by Abraham Lincoln who was elected president February 27, 1860; it was at this time he
aggressively accused slavery stating the Federal government had The power of restraining the

The Influence Of Physical Therapy
Although I have been interested in a medical profession and helping people for as long as I can

feeling of being sidelined from an injury and how it seems to affect nearly every aspect of your life. It
s not just your body that is injured, it s also your mind and spirit. One of my more serious injuries was
a torn meniscus during my freshman year of college while I was pursuing my dream of playing
collegiate softball. This included post surgery rehab, which required a significantly longer amount of

Description Of The Snowy Egret
SPECIES PROFILE for SNOWY EGRET
(Egretta thula)
prepared for
MSC 276 Marine Vertebrate Zoology by Ashley Wells alwells705@cfcc.mail.edu Submitted: February
8, 2017
Names and classification
Egretta thula
Snowy Egret
Synonyms: Aigrette neigeuse (French), Garceta pie dorado/Garza chusmita/Garza nivea (Spanish)
Family: Ardeidae (Herons, Bitterns, and Egrets)
Description
The snowy egret Egretta thula is a relatively large wading bird, standing at around 24 inches [60.96
cm] high and displaying a brilliant white plumage. Very similar in appearance to the Great Egret, the
Snowy Egret can be distinguished by its bright yellow feet, sometimes referred to as golden slippers,
which contrast against its black legs. However, even ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Fig. 1 Distribution of Egretta thula throughout North and South America based on seasons.
Habitat
Snowy egrets inhabit marshes, ponds, swamps, and mudflats (Bull Farrand). Since snowy egrets are
wading birds, like other herons and egrets, they prefer habitats that are close to water. Wading birds
breed and build their nests in close proximity to water, allowing them to have access to food while
raising their young. In North America, the snowy egret s favorite habitats include salt marshes,
shallow bays, and mangroves. Snowy egrets prefer similar habitats throughout South and Central
America and the Caribbean (Weslosky, 2002).
Conservation Biology
Life cycle and reproduction
Breeding colonies, sometimes of multiple different species, form on islands surrounded by water or
guarded by a vegetative buffer. Such features are presumed to be desirable due to the protection they
provide from predators on the ground (Frederick, 2002). Nests are often built using sticks, reeds, and
other vegetation and constructed in trees, shrubs, or other aquatic vegetation (Elphick, 2014). A clutch
consists of 3 5 eggs, a pale blue green in color, laid in a nest located in a bush or reedbed, specific to
the species of egret (Bull Farrand, 1994). Breeding season begins in March or early April and males
will perform both flight and vocal displays to attract females. Snowy egrets are social nesters

Communism And The Czechoslovakia Revolution
The Czechoslovakia revolution mainly occurred because the communist government had many
conflicts with the citizens but before the revolution, when communism was just beginning, the citizens
wanted that type of government. On the contrary, during and after the revolution, the people of
Czechoslovakia favored a more democratic government where the power resides in the people, not
just rulers. The communist ways began in 1948 when Benes gave in to communist demands and
handed his cabinet over to the party (Communists 1) after many acts of protest that he could no longer
control. Many people fought to change their government in their country to go from a parliamentary
democracy to a communist government. They wanted to change their form of

Neolithic Agriculture
Agriculture is one of the best things that has happened to humans. For once, humans were freed from
the bonds that nature had over them. Agriculture has allowed so much more efficiency in
domesticating animals and plants and innovating technology. These major things have branched off
into more advanced things we know of civilizations today.
Before settlement, foraging was an extremely hard life to keep up. Many of the very young and very
old were killed, because they could not live in a harsh environment of constantly moving around and
gathering food. Foragers did not have as reliable food resources as farmers. Also, some foods are
seasonal. Growing food meant that there could be a surplus to last through times of the year when
food was not being grown. The neolithic era was a popular time for people to start establishing
organized religions and sharing ideas in a more orderly fashion, whereas foragers shared among their
groups. Forager groups kept large ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Foragers had a varied diet but these food were not always around. Many archaeologists believe that
foragers were healthier than farmers, because they were less exposed to disease and had more
nutrition. It is also speculated that without agriculture, social inequality would not have became a
problem. This is simply untrue, because man has a way of wanting to be over each other and after a
long time, somebody would inevitably end up as a leader. Since people had been hunting and foraging
for so long, they became very skilled at it. After a while, 75% of big game went extinct. Think of how
many more animals would have gone extinct if domestication and herding had not been introduced.
There might not have been any animals left to hunt by this time if hunting at their extent had
continued. William Howells is utterly flawless in his argument that agriculture is one of the most
important things that has happened to

most cost effective, way of doing this is by channeling a dry riverbed and narrowing it where the
bridge was to stand. The columns of the bridge were to stand on their foundations which was sitting
on the soil and the banks of the bridges were given large rocks to protect their foundation from being

Treating Asthma
Asthma treatment is consistent with care along a continuum which may change at any time to
accommodate the individual s current symptoms. The clinical based guidelines consist of step by step
guidelines with varying treatments arranged by age and organized by the severity and the addition of
pharmacological therapies (NAEPP, 2007). The process of treating asthma has been proven most
successful with the NAEPP clinical guidelines. The NAEPP guidelines provide a holistic approach to
caring for individuals suffering from asthma. Treatment consists of assessing and monitoring the
severity of one s asthma, the provision of patient education to assist with self management, assisting

Follow up treatment or assessment has been identified as the single most beneficial aspect to ensuring
one s asthma is well controlled (Axelsson et al., 2015). Follow up with individuals should take place
between 2 6 weeks of acute exacerbation and between 1 3 month intervals regularly (NAEPP, 2007).
Evaluation and changes in treatment are recommended based on assessment of one s adherence to
medication regimens and management of environmental factors (NAEPP, 2007). Once it is established
if the individual is maintaining adherence and controlling environmental factors but the individual s
asthma that is not well controlled a one step up method of treatment is recommended and a two step
up approach for very poorly controlled individuals (NAEPP, 2007). Asthma well controlled should be
evaluated and concluded controlled for 3 months prior to changes in medication regimens (NAEPP,
2007). After 3 months of well controlled asthma, an individual s medication regimen may be stepped
down by 1 step and the dose of ICS s may be reduced by 25 percent every 3 months until the lowest
control dose is reached (NAEPP, 2007).
In the event asthma is no longer manageable by a primary clinician the need for a referral may be
require. Referral to an asthma specialist for management is recommended if there are complications
achieving or maintaining control of asthma. Also, if the patient required more than 2 uses of oral
systemic corticosteroids in 1 year or has required hospitalization it is imperative for the individual to
be referred for further management (NAEPP,

The Controversial Supreme Court Case Of Brown V. Board Of...
Throughout the history of America issues around race have brought great debate and augments. Being
a nation birthed from ideals of freedom and undeniable human rights, America has failed in being
truthful to its founding. The treatment of African American is an atrocity that stains the history of our
nation s past. Steps have been made to heal the injustice, but they are just steps. In this essay, I will be
discussing school desegregation focusing on the landmark and controversial Supreme Court case of
Brown v. Board of Education and the effect is had on the nation and even the world. Many people
ignore the fact school segregation has not been fixed. The Supreme Court case of Brown v. Board of
Education is just something people learn in their social studies class. Most think this case was the end
of the story and schools were desegregated and everything was happily ever after, but this is sadly not
the reality. The reality is Brown has failed us. The effects can be seen in the schools of today in many
American cities but in this essay, I will use the case of the Twin Cities of Minneapolis and St. Paul to
illustrate the massive shortcomings of this ruling today. The story of school desegregation in the
United States started with a civil action lawsuit raised in the first district court of Kanas on June 10,
1951. Mr. Oliver Brown brought his complaint to the Board of Education of Topeka. The complaint
was simple, [the] plaintiffs were being deprived of the equal protection

Entering AAgreement Binding Agreement
The parties to the contract must have intended to enter legally binding relations, this is defined as the
intention to enter a legally binding agreement or contract. If the parties do not intend to enter a legally
binding contract, in which the parties must come to an agreement of both sides, the contract may
become a mere promise. In Balfour v Balfour, the husband promised to pay his wife £30 a month,
when he failed to pay his wife tried to sue him, the wife s action failed as an intention to enter a
legally binding agreement could not be found, the court also held that the burden of proof of entering a
legally binding agreement is on the plaintiff to prove. Initially, what the courts will recognise as a
legally binding contract is that the parties to the contract intended to enter a legally binding contract.
Also the parties to the contract must have the legal capacity to enter into a contract. Young person s is
defined in the S3 Age of Majority Act, as anyone under the age of 18. Young person s capacity to enter
a legally binding contract is limited, however unclear in legislation generally minors are not able to be
a party to a contract. People with mental impairments are also limited in being parties to a contract if
they do not know what they are entering into. A valid contract must firstly possess key terms in which
both the promisee and promisor are initially creating a purpose for the contract. The HL in the case of

The Diversity Of A Multicultural Organization
The multicultural organization Historically, diversity in the workplace was seen as an employment
equity issues. As the years passed by, it all changed. The surge of globalization has needed the
collaboration among people of different backgrounds and cultures. Nowadays, organizations are now
creating a diverse workforce beyond just gender, race, ethnicity, and nationality. Many U.S.
organizations are embracing women, ethnic minorities, and foreign born employees more than ever
before in history. Diversity calls for organizations to recognize individuals for themselves, regardless
their designated groups. This paper will be focusing in three different parts of diversity in the
workforce: type of organizations, the benefits cost, and measurements taken by CEOs to promote
diversity. In today s society, due to the great diversity, organizations should be multicultural to allow
all members of different cultural backgrounds to contribute and achieve their full potential. According
to Cox (1991), there three different types of organizations including monolithic, plural, and
multicultural organization. The monolithic organization is demographically and culturally
homogeneous. According to Cox, the most important fact about this type of organization is that there
is minimal structural integration. For example, most Chinese companies are monolithic from a cultural
and ethnic perspective. The majority of their workers are ethnically Han Chinese. However, from a
gender perspective

Social Status in Shakespeare s Plays
In Shakespeare s time, the English lived with a strong sense of social class of belonging to a particular
group because of occupation, wealth, and ancestry. Elizabethan Society had a very strict social code at
the time that Shakespeare was writing his plays. Social class could determine all sorts of things, from
what a person could wear to where he could live to what jobs his children could get. Some families
moved from one class to another, but most people were born into a particular class and stayed there.
There was a chance of being granted a title by the crown. This was uncommon at the time and a
relatively new thing for Europe where ancestry always defined nobility. Shakespeare s plays show the
different social statuses throughout ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The fact that the people were born into what social class they had to live in leaves them from
exploring themselves and potential. They are only allowed to aspire so high, and that defeats the
purpose of find oneself because they are told what they are going to be. Shakespeare questions the
rigidity of social class in the play, Alls Well That Ends Well, because he portrays Helen as being equal
to Bertram because of deed and not birth. The King sees nothing wrong with Helen picking someone
to marry that is high above her in social standing. He s even willing to grant her a title to make her
equal to Bertram. The King says it is just Helen s status that Bertram disdains, but I m not sure if it is.
I think in this case that Bertram is more worried about tainted blood entering his family. The nobility
only married the nobility because of the fact that their blood was considered to be more pure and
clean. In the case of Helen she was of the working class which meant her blood wasn t of the pure and
clean type that she was a base commoner. Nobility didn t like to think that their blood should be mixed
with that of the commoners and the lower classes. At least not in the case of the first born sons or the
daughters of the nobility. In the case of social identities being formed in Shakespeare s plays I feel as

Content-Based Image Retrieval Case Study

Pertaining to the tremendous growth of digitalization in the past decade in areas of healthcare,

Many of these collections are the product of digitizing existing collections of analog photographs,

the size of image and video collection is growing, it is eminent to skip the subjective task of manual

DiVI Diversity and Visually Interactive Method
Aimed at reducing the semantic gap in CBIR systems, the Diversity and Visually Interactive (DiVI)
method [2] combines diversity and visual data mining techniques to improve retrieval efficiency. It
includes the user into the processing path, to interactively distort the search space in the image
description process, forcing the elements that he/she considers more similar to be closer and elements
considered less similar to be farther in the search space. Thus, DiVI allows inducing in the space the
intuitive perception of similarity lacking in the numeric evaluation of the distance function. It also
allows the user to express his/her diversity preference for a query, reducing the effort to analyze the
result when too many similar images are returned.

Nationalism in Quebec and Canadian Politics Essay
During the twentieth century, Canada as a nation witnessed and endured several historical events that
have had a deep and profound influence on Canadian politics. The most influential and constant force
in twentieth century Canadian politics has been the increasing power and command of Quebec
nationalism and the influence it has had on Canadian politics today. Quebec nationalism has shaped
the structure and dynamics of Canadian federalism from a centralized to a decentralized form of
federal government (Beland and Lecours 2010, 423). The decentralization of several sectors within the
Canadian government has been a direct effect of Quebec nationalism. Decentralization has led to more

Finally in 1867, the United Canadas joined two other British Colonies, Nova Scotia and New
Brunswick to form the Dominion of Canada (McRoberts 1991, 413). French Canadians continued to
fight against assimilation and received autonomous privileges with exclusive jurisdiction over matters
regarding its cultural distinctiveness***. Thus, the Francophone language and culture has always been
at the forefront of Quebec priorities. Since Confederation, Quebec nationalist have felt that the
Francophone language and culture has been at risk of assimilation by the rest of Canada. As a result,
Quebec nationalism is fundamentally rooted in the preservation of the Francophone language and
culture (Guiberneau 2006, 52). Political leaders in Quebec continuously urge for the recognition that
Canada is composed of two nations or cultures (McRoberts 1991, 413). Prior to confederation Quebec
enjoyed numerous autonomous privileges. Unfortunately, post confederation Quebec did not enjoy as
many autonomous privileges because Canada was created as a relatively centralized federation
(Beland and Lecours 2007, 406). A centralized federation not only took several of these autonomous
powers away from Quebec, but it also threatened the Francophone language and culture (Beland and
Lecours 2007, 406). With this said, Quebec nationalism has placed a great deal of pressure on the
federal government to decentralize, giving more powers to provincial governments.

CONCLUSIONS/SUMMARY:
The purpose of the experiments was to identify an unknown by figuring out both its chemical and
physical properties. A series of tests were performed, a standard solubility test, a flame test, anion
tests, cation tests, etc. In conclusion, it was determined that our Unknown (107) is Sodium
Chloride. Based upon not only my tests, but the results of Jillian s and Johannah s tests, it was
determined that both Sodium Ion and Chloride Ion were present in our unknown. The Silver
Nitrate test very obviously resulted in a solid precipitate at the bottom of the test tube, determining
that Chloride was present.

Advent of Industrialization Essay
The advent of industrialization in the early nineteenth century had wide reaching impacts on

The price of beef, tea and sugar had also come down, allowing many middle class families to enjoy
these luxuries in their diet.
The middle class may have seen some positive changes during this time period, but the working class
was not nearly as fortunate. Conditions for the working class were terrible and unsanitary. Many
working class families were crowded into small apartments with dirt floors, no indoor plumbing, and
their general lot in life was quite miserable. I remember our book talking about the filth from chamber
pots, the mold and mildew that grew rampantly inside these dwellings, and the lack of sanitation.
Their diet was also a sad tale. While the middle class could afford beef and sugar, the working class
was forced to subsist mainly on bread. This lack of protein and necessary vitamins and minerals would
have put them at a much higher risk for disease and malnutrition.
The division in quality of life gave rise to a set of political principles and ideologies known as
liberalism. The liberal movement in thought, politics, and social constructs can be seen in popular
political movements of the mid nineteenth century. The Charter Movement in Great Britain can be
seen as an example of the liberal democratic movements. Chartism sought to obtain universal male

Why Is Balance Control Important
How Important Is Ankle Proprioception for Balance Control in Sport Performance and Injury
Abstract
Balance control improvement is one of the most important goals in sports and exercise. Better balance
is strongly positively associated with enhanced athletic performance and negatively associated with
lower limb sports injuries. Proprioception plays an essential role in balance control, and ankle
proprioception is arguably the most important. This paper reviews ankle proprioception and explores
possible links with balance control, specifically in a sport context. Central processing of ankle
proprioceptive information, along with other sensory information, enables integration for balance
control. Care must be taken when assessing ankle proprioception to ensure that the method used has
ecologically valid and allows proprioceptive signals to be integrated in the central nervous system and
reflects the signal noise nature of central processing. Ankle proprioceptive intervention concepts
driven by the central processing theory are further proposed and discussed for the improvement of
balance control in sport.

In 1984 Tropp et al. (17) found ankle injuries were almost 4 times more prevalent in soccer player

hurdling athletes and Gaelic football plays with poor balance had nearly twice as many ankle injuries
relative to their counterparts with normal balance. In addition, balance ability was found to be
significantly associated with ankle injury risk in both younger male and female basketball players

Why College Is Right For Everyone
Several ponder if college is right for everyone. Stephanie Owen, a senior research assistant at

college or not and all the questions that come after that decision. They also mention that it is common
knowledge that this topic is highly debated. Should Everyone Go to College? provides an affective
argument that features both sides of the debate. Sawhill and Owen achieve this by utilizing logos

typically impacts the reader in at least one way. In Should Everyone Go to College? Owen and

Introduction Viktor Frankl s Man s Search for Meaning is a very popular script and has great renown
in the world of psychology. It has been said that the book should be a mandatory reading for all up and
coming psychology students and professors alike. The book supplies valuable insight into logotherapy
as well as Freud s theory of psychoanalysis and is inspirational to all those who read it. It has been
said that the riveting tale will make a difference in your life . The book and Frankl s ideas debate that
people are not driven by desires but by the meaning that they discover and place on their own lives
and the task of fulfilling that meaning. In Man s Search for Meaning Frankl outlines three phases or
versions of meaning that all people must go through. The following report will summarize the story of
Viktor Frankl as well as analyze the three main points of the book.
Summary
Man s Search for Meaning gives detail of Victor Frankl s experiences in a concentration camp and his
attempts to understand and overcome the trauma that came along with it. The book is made up of three
parts: Experiences in a Concentration Camp, logotherapy in a Nutshell, and finally, Postscript 1984:
The Case for Tragic Optimism ( Man s Search for Meaning ). Victor Frankl was born in 1905 and later

Uneducated Black Male Labeling Theory
The Uneducated Black Male; Labeling Theory
I. Introduction
Black males within American society struggle to be successful because of challenges arising from
racism and oppression, lack of effective educational leadership, and adverse racial stereotypes. Toby

Hooks , We Real Cool: Black Men and Masculinity , and Tyrone C. Howard s Who Really Cares? The
Disenfranchisement of African American Males in PreK 12 Schools: A Critical Race Theory

If an individual has grown up hearing that they are uneducated, stupid, or worthless, and has had no
one to tell them otherwise, eventually they will believe it is true and identify themselves in such a
way. Unfortunately it is difficult being a Black male growing up in today s society because they are
often perceived as fitting a negative labels or stereotypes, regardless if it is true or not. In order to
prevent Black males from accepting the negative label or stereotype as and behaving in such a way, I
believe it is important for Black males to be exposed to positive role models and influential people
who will reassure Black males that the negative racial stereotypes and labels they hear are not true.
Black males must also be aware of the negative labels and stereotypes associated with their gender
and race, yet learn to ignore them and identify themselves based on who they truly believed they are,
not who other people say they

Canadian Legal System Essay
The Canadian legal system was influenced dramatically by the Persons case, the Napoleonic code and
the Magna Carta. First, the Persons case significantly influenced the Law system as known today. The
Persons case, which took place in 1926 was regarding Emily Murphy, an Alberta police magistrate,
otherwise known as a judge. While judging a case, her ruling was challenged because according to the
British North America Act, women weren t considered persons. In order to change this, Emily Murphy
along with the Alberta Famous five started the legal process to prove that women were persons in
1928. The Famous five took the government to court, first at provincial level, then the Supreme Court,
however they were unsuccessful. In 1929, the women ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The significance of the Persons case to the Canadian legal system was that women were officially now
considered legal persons. This case showed that laws have to be changed in order to show the views of
the majority of the population. Furthermore, it showed the importance of Canada s connection to
England. The feudal system allowed the right to appeal to the monarch (the famous five to the Privy
Council) and showed how versatile and crucial the feudal system was to shaping the law system in
Canada as the principle to appeal to a higher court is still in use today. Second, the Napoleonic code
influenced the Canadian legal system as it created civil law and created the base for the Canadian
charter of rights. During the time of Napoleon in the 19th century, he created a civil law to define and
establish civil rights and laws. This civil law of France began being applied to Quebec, Canada in
1774 by The Quebec Act. With this act in place, laws would be in accordance and referred with the
French law. When Napoleon created the code in 1803, it was then applied to Quebec and is still used
today. Furthermore, the Napoleonic code influenced the Canadian charter of rights. In the code, the
main traits found in this law is that it forbade privilege based on birth status, and allowed freedom of

How Computers Are Essential in Criminal Justice Field
how computers are essential in criminal justice field
Computers take part in a big role in the Criminal Justice Field. So far computers have allowed us to
make it accessible for witnesses to go through and look for a suspect s picture on the screen.
Computers have enabled us to be able to do DNA testing. Which now only takes the labs a short time
to process, and finding criminals from cases 15+ years ago can now be charged for their actions. There
are laptop computers in police vehicles; therefore, police officers can look up information right then

The first electronic computers were developed in the mid 20th century (1940 1945). Originally, they
were the size of a large room, consuming as much power as several hundred modern personal
computers (PCs). Modern computers based on integrated circuits are millions to billions of times more
capable than the early machines, and occupy a fraction of the space. Simple computers are small
enough to fit into mobile devices, mobile computers can be powered by small batteries. Personal
computers in their various forms are icons of the Information Age and are what most people think of
as computers . However, the embedded computers found in many devices from MP3 players to fighter
aircraft and from toys to industrial robots are the most numerous. In the global village called the
internet, not everyone plays nice. You always hear of the word hack . It is mostly used in relation to
invading of computers. Most of these are not entirely true but computer network systems do get
hacked. If and when it does happen, it usually involves something sinister. Even employees of
companies do engage in snooping or to use our favorite word, hacking. The birth of the internet has
led to more of this. Anyone can be anything online. This is why fraud, phishing, and identity theft
happen. The computer has become an important part of everyday life. Sending

Meiji Constitution Essay
Using specific examples from primary and secondary sources, address the following questions:
1. In the Meiji Constitution, the people of Japan are referred to as subjects, not as citizens. What is the
difference, and why is this significant?
Subjects were the people of Japan who had to follow, obey, and uphold the constitution, told that they
had to conform, along with their ancestors and descendants. They were not as valued as the citizens
according to the Emperor.
The citizens were already considered to be as equal as the Emperor who had all the rights, respect,
protection, and security.

Japan?

The Million Dollar Throw
The book that I read was The Million Dollar Throw by Mike Lupica. The reason that I chose this book
is because it really caught my eye when I was looking through the list we could read. I ve heard of the
book and have read a couple of the authors other titles before but, I have never read this one. I love the
sports themed anything so, when I saw The Million Dollar Throw title I immediately jumped at the
opportunity. This book exceeded my expectations. Every book that I have read by this author really
has really blown my mind, but this one in particular was my favorite so far. The book for me builds up
in excitement from beginning to end and at the end it really is just spectacular. Nate Brodie which is
the main character is a huge Tom Brady fan, and just huge football fan in general, which I can really
relate to. I am a huge sports fan, and a really big football fan, just like him. So when I was reading the

told him that if he saved enough money for half the football that they would pay the other half. After
more than a year of saving up birthday, Christmas and allowance money, he finally had enough for his
share. Nate of course felt guilty because when his dad made the promise their family circumstances
were different financially. When I first started reading this part I thought for sure his dad was going to

Similarities Between Macbeth And Banquo
A homograph is a word that is spelled the same but can be pronounced differently or have different
meanings. Different pronunciations of the word are used based on the context of the sentence it is in.
This same idea is also true of people. Two people can have the exact same experiences, yet react to it
in completely different ways. Characters in literature often reflect this same phenomenon, foil
characters with identical aspects who react differently to circumstance. In Shakespeare s tragic play
Macbeth, Banquo serves as a foil character to Macbeth emphasizing Macbeth s unchecked ambition, a
fatal flaw, that leads to his ultimate moral decline. At the beginning of the story, Shakespeare
establishes the foil between Macbeth and Banquo to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
By encouraging Macbeth not to fear his prophecy, Shakespeare establishes that his foil Banquo also
has a sense of ambition. Unlike Macbeth, however, Banquo has the ability to control his ambition.
These opening scenes establish a foil between Banquo and Macbeth in order to show their shared
positive characteristics prior to Macbeth s moral decline. After Macbeth and Banquo receive
prophecies, the foil characters start to diverge as Banquo s takes the moral path of goodness while
Macbeth takes the immoral path towards his ultimate decline. Banquo and Macbeth have the
opportunity to pursue the same path, but because of his unchecked ambition, Macbeth deviates from
Banquo s path of good morals. Immediately after the witches tell their prophecies, Banquo s mindset
is wary and rational. He warns Macbeth that, oftentimes, to win us to our harm, / the instruments of
darkness tell us truths... (1.3.125 126). Banquo is not obsessed with the prophecies and the idea that
one day his ancestors will be kings. On the other hand, Macbeth speculates, Two truths are told, / as
happy prologues to the swelling act / of the imperial theme. (1.3.130 132) Because two of the three
prophecies have come true, Macbeth is blinded by his ambition and seems to fantasize about the idea
of being king. These contrasting reactions show that Macbeth takes a

At first thought, many may believe alcohol is the outright cause of such accidents, but at a closer look at the facts and figures one will discover that marijuana should not go without suspicion. The vast amounts of chemicals of which marijuana contains each have their own impacts unto the human body, not to mention the increasing use of the drug among teens. They just wanted to be known, and be able to say they were there, and seen many things; or the accomplishments they have made. For instance, Hernan Cortez was born in 1485 in Medellin, Spain. He was a Spanish conquistador who defeated the Aztec Empire and claimed Mexico for Spain. He also studied at the university of Salamanca. In 1504, he traveled to Santo Domingo and settled in a town called Azua and served as a notary. In 1515, he joined the expedition of Cuba led by Diego Velazquez and served as the mayor of Santiago. In 1518, he set sail to Mexico with eleven ships and five hundred men. By 1519, he reached the Mexican coast. Some hardships Cortez faced included him becoming allies with natives, and others. he used deadly force to conquer Mexico. He fought Tiaxacan and Cholula warriors. He marched to Tenochtitlan and captured the ruler Montezuma II., although , he had to leave because the Spanish troops were coming to arrest him for disobeying orders. But he did return later because the Spanish was set out by the Aztecs. In 1515, he conquered the Aztecs and King Charles appointed him to be the governor of New Spain. Some interesting facts about Hernan Cortez was that after he conquered the Aztecs, his authority and position was questioned, and they also formed a rebellion against him. Between 1540 1547, he spent time being recognized for his achievements, and support from the Spanish royal courts. Habitat Snowy egrets inhabit marshes, ponds, swamps, and mudflats (Bull Farrand). Since snowy egrets are wading birds, like other herons and egrets, they prefer habitats that are close to water. Wading birds breed and build their nests in close proximity to water, allowing them to have access to food while raising their young. In North America, the snowy egret s favorite habitats include salt marshes, shallow bays, and mangroves. Snowy egrets prefer similar habitats throughout South and Central America and the Caribbean (Weslosky, 2002). Conservation Biology Life cycle and reproduction Breeding colonies, sometimes of multiple different species, form on islands surrounded by water or guarded by a vegetative buffer. Such features are presumed to be desirable due to the protection they provide from predators on the ground (Frederick, 2002). Nests are often built using sticks, reeds, and other vegetation and constructed in trees, shrubs, or other aquatic vegetation (Elphick, 2014). A clutch consists of 3 5 eggs, a pale blue green in color, laid in a nest located in a bush or reedbed, specific to the species of egret (Bull Farrand, 1994). • 25. Social Status in Shakespeare s Plays In Shakespeare s time, the English lived with a strong sense of social class of belonging to a particular group because of occupation, wealth, and ancestry. Elizabethan Society had a very strict social code at the time that Shakespeare was writing his plays. Social class could determine all sorts of things, from what a person could wear to where he could live to what jobs his children could get. Some families moved from one class to another, but most people were born into a particular class and stayed there. There was a chance of being granted a title by the crown. The King says it is just Helen s status that Bertram disdains, but I m not sure if it is. I think in this case that Bertram is more worried about tainted blood entering his family. In the case of Helen she was of the working class which meant her blood wasn t of the pure and clean type that she was a base commoner. The most influential and constant force in twentieth century Canadian politics has been the increasing power and command of Quebec nationalism and the influence it has had on Canadian politics today. Quebec nationalism has shaped the structure and dynamics of Canadian federalism from a centralized to a decentralized form of federal government (Beland and Lecours 2010, 423). Thus, the Francophone language and culture has always been at the forefront of Quebec priorities. Since Confederation, Quebec nationalist have felt that the Francophone language and culture has been at risk of assimilation by the rest of Canada. As a result, Quebec nationalism is fundamentally rooted in the preservation of the Francophone language and culture (Guiberneau 2006, 52). Many working class families were crowded into small apartments with dirt floors, no indoor plumbing, and their general lot in life was quite miserable. I remember our book talking about the filth from chamber pots, the mold and mildew that grew rampantly inside these dwellings, and the lack of sanitation. Their diet was also a sad tale. While the middle class could afford beef and sugar, the working class was forced to subsist mainly on bread. This lack of protein and necessary vitamins and minerals would have put them at a much higher risk for disease and malnutrition. Why Is Balance Control Important How Important Is Ankle Proprioception for Balance Control in Sport Performance and Injury Abstract Balance control improvement is one of the most important goals in sports and exercise. Better balance is strongly positively associated with enhanced athletic performance and negatively associated with lower limb sports injuries. Proprioception plays an essential role in balance control, and ankle proprioception is arguably the most important. This paper reviews ankle proprioception and explores possible links with balance control, specifically in a sport context. Central processing of ankle proprioceptive information, along with other sensory information, enables integration for balance control. Care must be taken when assessing ankle proprioception to ensure that the method used has ecologically valid and allows proprioceptive signals to be integrated in the central nervous system and reflects the signal noise nature of central processing.
