The Rise Of Awareness Of Police Brutality Towards Black Males
Although written in the late 1980s with the rise of awareness of police brutality towards black
males in America, it is clearly evident that black people are treated differently especially in
terms of racial profiling. According to analysis by New York Civil Liberties Union, in 2013
83% of the people stopped in New York for a frisk and search were black or Hispanic with only
12% being white and of all the people stopped 81% were completely innocent. Racial profiling
causing an uneasiness to those who are victims of it, for Brent Staples it resulted in him
changing his behaviour to suit those around him. Selectively picking his attire, the time he
walked and places he walked at the specific times. Even steely New Yorkers hunching toward
nighttime destinations seem to relax, and occasionally they even join in the tune. Virtually
everybody seems to sense that a mugger wouldn t be warbling bright, sunny selections from
Vivaldi s Four Seasons. The writer, Brent Staples, would have to whistle to reassure others of
their safety and comfort just because he was a minority, the worst was assumed of him from first
impressions. In Brent s situation the uneasiness from racial profiling lead to him altering his
lifestyle and this is a reality for many young people of colour who have to selectively choose
what they wear as to not appear thuggish while they walk the streets. Racial profiling causes
individuals from minorities to change aspects of their life and can also lead to a

The Day I Enlisted During The United States Army
The day I enlisted in the United States Army is the day my life changed and everything else
around me, it is who I am today. Before then, I grew up in a family of five, four boys and one
girl. Struggling day by day just to get around, my mother at that time was the only one working
and my father was politician man and working for the Mayor his right hand man for about four
years. Until the new election came and that s when my father got released from his job. With my
mother the only one working she had many mouths to feed, my dad would do the best he could
every day. My dad was like a jack of all trades as people would say, he is a fisherman, carpenter,
cook and other skills I didn t know he possessed. My father even though he was not... Show more

So when I turned eighteen, I and some of my classmates flew to the neighboring island to see the
United States Army Recruiter. My recruiter showed me a video of what an infantryman does and
I was sold, then told him that this is the perfect job for me. I didn t know what I was getting
myself into. It was hard for my parents to accept that I was joining the Army, especially my
mom, all she could think of was that I was going to war and bad things could happen to me. She
didn t want me to experience that kind of life and she couldn t bear the thought of losing one of
her own children. So the day I flew off to basic I told my parents, Everything will be fine trust
me . This was my first time leaving the islands and being away from my family for a good while.
So myself and two of my buddies started basic training together, we stuck together as soon as we
got to 30th AG. I didn t know what I was getting myself into I have never seen so many different
people in one area. I have never experienced being away on my own for the first time, I had no
clue what was going on. I wanted to give up and quit, but I told myself no! I cannot go back
home as a quitter, ever since then, my motivation that kept me going was my family and friends, I
wanted them to be proud of who I ve become. I graduated basic training February 2005 with Fort

Shakespeare and Chopin
In one of the William Shakespeare s greatest plays, Macbeth, we can see an influence years later
in Kate Chopin s novel The Awakening. At the end of the tragedy Lady Macbeth folds under the
pressure paralleling some the burdens Edna Pontellier suffers from. Many of Lady Macbeth s
personalities are reflected in Edna. Through the suicidal acts taken by both characters at the
conclusion of the books, we can see the how Lady Macbethinfluenced Chopin. Macbeth also has a
great influence upon the personality of Edna. Edna has a similar battle, hers being between society
and her desire to fulfill her sexual desires and be independent. Theses unwritten rules of society
determine the fate for both of these characters. Clearly Chopin has taken... Show more content on

Macbeth also has some paralleling qualities reflected in Edna that are discovered during Act V
Scene 5 of Macbeth. In Shakespeare s famous quote,
To morrow, and to morrow, and to morrow, Creeps in this petty pace from day to day to the last
syllable of recorded time And all out yesterdays have lighted fools The way to dusty death.
(Shakespeare 177), Shakespeare conveys a dim reality that nothing is worth living for anymore.
Enda Pontellier finds herself in the same situation at the end of The Awakening, with a
melancholy existence and nothing left to live for: There was no despondency when she fell
asleep that night; nor was there hope when she awoke in the morning. (Chopin146). She goes
through the motions the last few days before she makes her trip into the deep seas. Macbeth lives
his last few hours with a sense of hopelessness, which Chopin entwines as a basic sentiment for
Edna. Another similarity can be seen between Macbeth and Edna through their similar desires.
Macbeth s desires of becoming king are inspired by the three withes. Robert arouses Edna s desires
to engage in sexual activity. Macbeth and Edna both these desires that go against the norm of
society. In order for Macbeth to rise to king he must murder King Duncan, which the society does
not consider to be moral. In Act V Scene 5 we see a defeated Macbeth, as he was able to overcome
or live above the rules of society.

Analysis Of Henrik Ibsen s Ibsen
Henrik Ibsen is a very common and almost an essential person if you where to judge him by his
plays. Ibsen plays are a symbolic representation of how to deal with the reality of social issues.
Social issues can be manipulated and used as a powerful political weapon. During this period
writers would commonly form information in order to gain the attention and support of the public.
Henrik Ibsenunderstood human nature, he played a crucial role in exploring and illuminating
society by uniting honesty and the reality of life, through his work. Writing as a psychologist,
Ibsen could quickly sway others when it came to understanding his creative work. His
relationship with human life formed an intense social and abstract perspective, which is the
essence of art. Ibsen s work as a writer mainly symbolized a long writing style that reflection on
people s need to live in a more advance mental way. Ibsen wrote about the contradiction between
ability and the aspiration between will and possibility. Ibsen commonly uses a great deal of
desperation in his work. Within the darkness of his work the conflict mainly surrounded
humanity and the individual tragedy of one s true self. Ibsen would use symbols that represented
how the social issues within his work would be part of reality. His plays allowed a combination of
the feminist social issues and reality. The subjects were expressed in both Hedda Gabler and A Doll
s House is extensive and diverse.

Angela Carter’s The Bood Chamber Essay
In Angela Carter s The Bloody Chamber, the theme of transformation appears throughout the short
story cycle. The hero/heroine s virginity acts as a source of strength that protects them from harm.
Their lack of fear also saves them from death. Virginity acts as power of potentia, either literally or
symbolically and results in a release of an observed transformative power. The bloody chamber
serves a different symbolic purpose of transformation for Beauty in The Courtship of Mr Lyon ,
the heroine in The Tiger s Bride and the Countess in The Lady of the House of Love. Each of these
characters will embark on a journey that questions their selfhood in circumstances that are
presented to them and ultimately each will go through a... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Howard Gardner And Gardner s Theory Of Multiple Intelligences
Numerous are growing interested in what makes them who they are, along with how exactly they
fit into society. In fact, a variety of concepts exist that individuals commonly apply to their own
identity. Aiding people, the ideas help explore who they truly are as well as help understand
themselves better. But at the same time, they can either be helpful and relate to you with your
identity, or do the complete opposite. Of the broad amount of concepts to the identification of
people, there are three that exist named Gardner s Theory of Multiple Intelligences, Adler s Birth
Order, as well as learning styles. Each person is unique in their own way, especially the outstanding
capabilities of their mind. For example, it is common to only know of the visual learning, auditory
learning, and kinesthetic learningaspects, but what people do not know is that the mind goes beyond
that (Lane). Developed by Howard Gardner exists the Multiple Intelligences, which consists of nine
different intelligences. Of all of the intelligences exists Verbal linguistic, Logical mathematical,
Spatial visual, Bodily kinesthetic, Musical, Interpersonal, Intrapersonal, Naturalist, and Existential
(Howard Gardner s Theory of Multiple Intelligences). According to Gardner, each person has a
unique blend of capabilities and skills, which students could balance out their skills if they
discovered their strengths (Lane). Personally, I scored at 92% Naturalistic and 0% Bodily

Death Of Marat
The Death of Marat, was a painting done by Jacques Louis David in 1748 1825, depicting the
assassination of Marat, a leader of the French Revolution. It was commissioned by the French
Convention to glorify Marat and to serve as a propaganda that upholds the momentum of the
revolution. By doing so, David aimed to raise people s sympathies towards Marat by portraying
him as the savior of the revolution, friend of the People , and the victim. He idealized Marat and
chose to bias towards Marat on this assassination event. He blended fact and fiction into the
painting which drove people to see Marat s death as a tragedy and Corday, the murder, as the
wicked and immortal. In this analysis, I will write about the symbol and falsehood he had added...

In the painting, Marat was shown with undecorated and dirty cloths around him while in reality he
actually lived in a highly ornamented house and had servants following him around. By doing so,
helped make him look humble and foster his friend of the people image. On Marat hand, there was
a letter saying 13th July 1793. Marie Anne Charlotte Corday to the citizen Marat. The terrible
misfortune that I have entitles me to ask for your kindness. Along with a list of the names and
location of several Girondins. It was written by Corday, the murderer, to gain entrance into his
house. As stated in history, Corday at first was not determine to assassinate Marat, her decision
to kill him was depended upon Marat s response to the letter. Marat s response was Good, in a
few days I will have them all guillotined which was totally opposite to her expectation, therefore
she stabbed him. During the revolution, Marat guillotined whoever seemed to be opposing him,
he was seen as merciless and brutal leader with great power. However, in the painting, David
twisted the truth, he drew a little note on the table saying You will arrange this assignment for this
mother of five children, whose husband died in defense of the homeland . By this, showed Marat
kindness and his concern about the need of his people which again promoted his friend of the People

Abstract
The concept of the internet of things is that every physical of object in the real world has a virtual
component on the internet that can produce and consume services .Such super connected objects
would be of great convivences but they would require novel approaches to ensure security and
ethical uses. While internet of things is more than concept and it cannot be defined in concise
manner as it is complex topic, in this paper we are trying to provide review of concerns about
security of internet of things and possible ways to overcome the security threats.
Keywords Internet of things, privacy, security
Introduction
Internet of things, introduced by Kelvin Aston in 2000, is gaining lots of popularity across all types
industries, businesses and personal life. IOT has capability of extended anywhere, anyhow, anytime
computing to anything, anyone, any service . With the progress in the field of networking,
communication smart object and smart system exchange enormous amount of data or information.
However, success of these system is strongly depends on the security, privacy and trust. As
Technologies offer many opportunities the growing hardware and software complexity, as well as
the existence of global access, increases the vulnerability to security attacks. [1]

Backpressure Based Adaptive Routing and Scheduling In...
Under high traffic conditions, this works very well, and backpressure is able to fully utilize the
available network resources in a highly dynamic fashion. Under low traffic conditions, however,
because many other nodes may also have a small or 0 queue size, there is inefficiency in terms of
an increase in delay, as packets may loop or take a long time to make their way to the destination.
This is particularly of concern in intermittent encounter based mobile networks which are already
delay limited due to the sparse and highly dynamic network connectivity. Such networks have
proposed the use of redundant transmissions to improve delay, which do not work well when the
traffic load is high.
Routing protocol, such as Spray and Wait, that ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The additional transmissions incurred by BWAR due to the duplicates utilize available slots which
would otherwise go idle, in order to reduce the delay. Particularly for networks that are not energy
limited, this offers a more efficient way to utilize the available bandwidth during low load
conditions. In order to minimize the storage resource utilization of duplicate packets, ideally, these
duplicate packets should be removed from the network whenever a copy is delivered to the
destination. Since this may be difficult to implement (except in some kinds of networks with a
separate control plane), we also propose and evaluate a practical timeout mechanism for automatic
duplicate removal. Under high load conditions, because queues are rarely empty, duplicates are
rarely created, and BWAR effectively reverts to traditional backpressure and inherits its throughput
optimality property. By design, BWAR is highly robust and distributed and does not require prior
knowledge of locations, mobility patterns, and load conditions.
The duplicate queues are maintained and utilized as follows:
Original packets when transmitted are removed from the main queue; however, if the queue size is
lower than a certain threshold qth, then the transmitted packet is duplicated and kept in the duplicate
buffer associated with its destination if it is not full (otherwise no duplicate is created).
Duplicate packets are not removed from the duplicate buffer when transmitted. They

Andrew Jackson s Colorful Military Career
The seventh president of the United States had a colorful military career before he became
Commander in Chief. Andrew Jackson, born 1767 in South Carolina, was a prisoner of war
during War of Independence; his treatment resulting in a lifelong dislike of Great Britain, (
Andrew Jackson n.d.). After the British captured the belligerent Jackson, he was ordered to clean a
British officer s boots. When he refused, the officer drew his sword and slashed Jackson s hand to
the bone, (Patrick, n.d.). This memorable treatment by the British inspired Jackson to take up arms
against the British in the War of 1812. It also helped to foment Jackson s political ideologies that
were staunchly anti federalist. In addition to his encounters with the British during the
Revolutionary War, Jackson was notorious for having indulged in many a duel, including one in
which he killed Charles Dickenson (Patrick, n.d.).
Jackson s early military career consists mainly of his involvement in the War of 1812, followed
by the Creek War in 1813 1814, and then culminating in the Battle of New Orleans in 1815. This
string of military victories for Jackson was later supplemented by brutal victories in the First
Seminole War in 1818. Having had a meager role to play in the War of 1812, Jackson hungered for
glory and led the West TennesseeMilitia in the Creek War of 1813 1814. This led to promotions
for Jackson. Jackson s military career reached its pinnacle, though, during the Battle of New
Orleans.

Life Changing Experience In My Life
I was eleven years old when I first became a certified scuba diver, and over the last thirteen years
none of the dives I d been on could prepare me for this one night. My vacation started out just like
all the other family dive trips I had been on, white sandy beaches, crystal clear what, warm ocean
breeze, and brilliantly bright colored fish but it all changed when my father came back from a
night dive with a story to tell. My siblings, husband and I all gathered around the dinner table
eager to hear about my father s adventures. He starts off slowly making sure he has everyone s
undivided attention before he discloses any details of importance. Once we were all on the edge
of our seats practically begging for him to speak he takes a long slow drink, looks each of us in
the eye and says I ve had the most incredible life changing experience on this night dive. We all
sit in awe wondering what could have possibly happened to make him feels this way. He
continues his story explaining that the dive team and him went down to the ocean floor and
turned off all their lights, and before they knew it they were surround by thousands of
bioluminescent creatures. As tears brim his eyes he continues describing the mysterious yet
magical beauty of the ocean world. My father continues his tale as I peer around the table at the
faces of all my siblings, and have the horrible realization that they all want to go on a night dive
now. Panic starts to set in as a realize they will make me

Hemigrapsus Sanguineus Research Paper
Hemigrapsus sanguineus, commonly known as the Asian Shore Crab, has been a major player
in the evolution of certain defenses of New England bivalve molluscs. Mytilus edulis, the New
England blue mussel, has been directly impacted by the predation of the Asian Shore Crab. H.
sanguineus is an invasive species to the Atlantic coast of the United States. It first appeared in the
southern New England area in 1988, presumably by trade ships from the Western Pacific. It has
since spread to the south Atlantic and is still expanding slowly northward as well (Stokstad,
2006). Introductions to new areas by humans allow for species who would never cross
evolutionary paths to do just that. These new interactions provide a new framework and
environment for novel selection pressures to present themselves. These strong selection pressures

must have a heritable component. The likelihood of an evolutionary response may be further
influenced by the demographic effects of the invasion, form of genetic variation in the native, and
consistency of selection (Strauss et al. 2006). The phenotypic plasticity of M. edulis is showcased
when inducible defenses are used in response to H.

Theme Of Narration In Sons And Lovers
Narration and point of view play a large role in the acceptance of a story. When the author writes
the novel in first person, it gives the reader an immediate connection to the protagonist. A third
person narration is more believable. The reader is being told a story without any personal bias from
the characters. With first personnarration, the character breaks down the scenes and the reader gets
a direct sense of the events. Third person narration allows the reader to get to know multiple
characters. Point of view when used with third person narration has a powerful effect. It helps to
reader to understand background on different characters and to have knowledge of events that may
not be the main focus of the story.
Destructive behavior ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It bounces most between Mrs. Morel and her son Paul. The narration was third person because
there was death amongst the characters. If it was first person we would lose some aspects of the
story as well as only have access to one characters opinion. Sons and Lovers was set in
Noddingham, England during the late 1800s.
The events of this story lead to the demise of its characters. Mr. Morel s alcoholism gets between
him and his wife early on in their relationship. Walter Morel cannot stand his wife accusing him of
being a drunk. One night he felt that she has crossed the line. They were arguing until he physically
threw her out of the house. Gertrude is pregnant but this does not faze Walter. His children do not
matter to him and neither does his wife.
As the story progresses, Gertrude hates Walter more and more. She turns away from her husband
and infatuates herself with her children. She once admired her husband but this admiration turns
to loathing and disgust. A little while down the line, Walter comes home drunk again. Gertrude
had given birth to the baby at this point. He drops a kitchen drawer against his shin. In a drunken
rage, he throws the drawer across the kitchen where it hits Gertrude in the head. She starts
bleeding and this sobers Walter up a little. She refuses his help and tells him to get away from her.

As you can see, from the table on the right some other countries have their own agreements and
this can give an idea of what is to come for the UK.

Norwegian Model
The choice to leave the EU has pushed the UK into uncharted trading territory. The main alternative

Britain have got themselves in a messy situation but the way forward is not. There are few
alternatives they can choose from. One of the options is the Norway option, the Norway option

The Norway model will also mean that Britain becoming members of two key European

Sugar s Effect On The Brain Essay
Sugar s Effect on the Brain
David Morrison
Genesee Community College
Abstract
Sugar is the most commonly consumed food on a daily basis. Sugar in low amounts is good for
the brain because it gives the brain energy. However, many people overindulge in sugar through
soft drinks and other sweets. Sugar has been shown to be addictive and its effects parallel with
drugs like cocaine. Also, sugar does mess up the brain s normal chemical production. It will even
be detrimental to physical parts of the brain. Sugar is a very powerful compound and people
should be aware of the effects it can have on adults and on growing minds.
Introduction Research shows that sugar has a major effect on dopamine production and is
addictive. Sugar also affects other brain chemicals like serotonin and acetylcholine. Sugar is a very
simple compound that has very powerful effects on the brain. Sugar addiction is proven and it is
similar to alcoholism and drug addiction. Sugar diminishes the effectiveness of dopamine
receptors over time and this causes you to eat more and more to get that same satisfying feeling.
Sugar can even be appealing while you are full and withdrawal symptoms of sugar parallel with
drug withdrawal. Sugar can affect the hippocampus negatively and many diseases are associated
with excessive sugar intake. This research should show the dangers of excess sugar intake
considering how much sugar is in the food people eat daily. Having addictions at an

International Relation Theory And International Relations...
International relation theories can be used to explain the meanings of the songs and articles.
Through music, the international relation theories can relate to the hidden messages about the song
through the language. The two theories that best explain the songs, Imagine by John Lennon and
Only Prettier by Miranda Lambert are neoliberalism and constructivism.
Neoliberalism is an international relations theory in which, states cooperate together to reach a
common goal. There is also the belief that states are self interested. The states can disagree with
their views, but cooperate together as a whole. One neoliberalist thinker was Keohane. Keohane

Constructivist believe that power is important. Power can be used to change and shape identities
and identities (Mingst 2016). One constructivist thinker is Wendt. Wendt argued that norms of the
states can affect how other states views them. Norms will change their actions by shaping their
identities differently (Mingst 2016). An example of constructivism is Americans viewed Cuba as
a threat during the Cold War. In 1960, US placed an embargo on Cuba, which ended trade and
relations with them. The rise of communism under the regime of Fidel Castro, posed as a threat to
the US. As of 2015, the embargo was lifted from Cuba and the US changed their perception of the
country. Another example is the US view of Iraq. Before the Persian Gulf War, the US viewed Iraq
as a marketing source, which enabled them to trade between each other. The US changed their
view on Iraq as the regime of Saddam Hussein took control of the country. There were many
rebellions of the Shiites and Kurds against Saddam. In the 1990s, Hussein invaded and destroyed
Marsh Arabs, which many Shiites were living on the land (ABC News 2006). US was concerned
about the supply of oil in the West.
In the inspirational song, Imagine by John Lennon, uses both neoliberalism and constructivism.
The song proclaims that the world is filled with violence and hate. Everyone cooperates together
in spite of their differences, the world will be at peace. The lines I hope someday you ll join us,

nicotine is addictive and harmful. When Brown and Williamson executive Jeffrey Wigand (Crowe)
tries to expose the industry s cover up, he is threatened into silence. He eventually gets his story to
60 Minutes producer Lowell Bergman (AL Pacino), but CBS decides against airing it due to
political and economic pressures, and the threat of lawsuit from Brown and Williamson.
Before we start, I think it s important that you know a little thing about me, and where I m coming
from. I do smoke. But I believe that most of the lawsuits filed against the tobacco industry are
unfounded, desperate attempts for people to put ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
After all, the guy has a family to look out for. But then Wigand is tortured over his passiveness,
wondering if he should take a more aggressive stance with his potentially damaging knowledge.
60 Minutes producer Lowell Bergman, sensing a big story in the works, tries to coax Wigand into
talking. An energetic Al Pacino, who fights to get the story on the air, only to have it snuffed by
CBS, plays Bergman here. Allegedly, the television network was possibly up for sale around the
time of this story, and airing it might have damaged their image with controversy, making it less
appealing to potential suitors. This, coupled with the threat of lawsuit from Brown and Williamson,
made CBS refuse to air the story.
The Insider portrays these events as a crusade on the part of Bergman and Wigand to get the truth
out there, against the will of Big Business and Bigger Tobacco. And while Bergman is never
portrayed as much more than a journalist with an uncharacteristic amount of integrity, Wigand is a
great character to follow as he tries to balance out everything around him. Tortured and sleepless,
his reactions are what you would expect from someone forced to choose between the safety of his
family with the gravity of what he knows.
Most of it makes for edge of your suit viewing. Suspense abounds, and AL Pacino s confrontations
with the evil corporate executives, censors, and whatnot are the centerpiece of the movie. He gets

Most Dangerous Game Criticism
The most Dangerous Game is a very interesting suspenseful story. It is about a hunter Rainsford
who gets stranded in an island and finds a crazy man that hunts humans. To survive and leave the
island, he has to defeat Zaroff that has never lost a hunt. I believe that other than to entertain the
reason for the story is to send a message that all types of life matters. The characters
Whitney,Rainsford, and Zaroff had different views about that though.
Whitney isn t talked about much in this after Rainsford falls off the boat into the water but it talks
about his views on hunting animals. Whitney believes that hunting animals isn t right and that the
enjoyment is given to the hunters. He believes that the animals have understanding and feel the
pain of getting hunted. He actually believes that there is an ethical concern on killing animals
because to kill for fun is not something that should be allowed. He believes that all life matters. Of
course his view greatly different from the views of his partner Rainsford. ... Show more content on

Rainsford believes that hunting for the hunters enjoyment is something that is morally acceptable
and ok. He does not see anything wrong with killing animals, because he thinks that animals do not

not believe it is right to hunt animals for sport, Rainsford thinks that Whitney is speaking nonsense.
Rainsford even says, There are two classes the hunters and the hunted, and thank God we are the
hunters. But I think that Rainsford s views change after he becomes the hunted by Zaroff because

Reflection On Organizational Behavior
Organizational behavior is a very important topic that only a few students take advantage of.
There is nothing more powerful to have in the workforce than an understanding of the way the
people around you think and act. Having the ability to engage in the work that is being done with
coworkers and supervisors makes the work easier and more enjoyable. Workers can be most
productive when they have strong relationships to the people around them. This is why
management and organizational behavior is one of the most rewarding classes for an
undergraduate. Taking the StrengthsFinder test opened my eyes about my strengths as a leader. I
was shocked I got futuristic, however, I was not surprised to see strategic, empathy, relator, or
includer. I tend to like to live my life in the present; I try and savor and really live through the
moments happening in front of me. However, I do tend to dote on the futureand how terrified I am
of it. The assessment says futuristic leaders are inspired by the future, but it truly terrifies me. I
hope to look into this strength further in this course and discover how I can use the future to
propel me, and those around me, forward. The other strengths I received are very encouraging,
as all will likely give me an edge on any professional team. I have always had a very analytical
and strategic mind, and this strength will be an asset to any company when it comes to problem
solving or strengthening the company. In regards to forming professional relationships, I have
never really had an issue. I have always welcomed in new people and invited those I felt might
have been left out to be my friend too. Being a relator and an includer in a professional setting
will give me the opportunity to develop powerful and meaningful bonds with coworkers and
supervisors. Keeping these relationships will be easy for me as I am a keen observer of the
human condition and I know when others are feeling sad or down. I am always empathetic, and I
do my best to help whoever it may be back to their feet. In a professional setting, empathy can
help me see myself in a coworkers shoes and this could resolve disputes or even help them when
they are in times of need. All of my strengths deal with the central

Samurai And Feudalism
Feudalism is a system to keep order in the land. Were they more similar or different? I think they
were more similar. They both had training, including starting at an early age (Doc C). When at
war, they of course had to of had armour. The armour was mainly metals(Doc D). They both had
codes, that were like rules, that they were expected to follow(Doc E). These all amount to
similarities and differences.
Feudalism is a system to keep order in the land. Training was needed to protect that land. The
rigorous training of Samurai began in childhood (Doc C). The young warriors studied Kendo (the
art of fencing with bamboo sticks). They also studied the moral code of the Samurai, and Zen
Buddhism. With the Knight s, on the other hand, training ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

Samurai used a code called Bushido. The business of the samurai consists in discharging loyal
service to his master if he has one, in deepening his fidelity, loyalty in associations with friends,
and in devoting himself to duty above all (Doc E). The Knights used a code called Chivalry.
With great ceremony each knight took the vows of true knighthood, solemnly promising to do
no wicked deed, to be loyal to the King, to give mercy to those asking it, always to be courteous
and helpful to ladies, and to fight in a wrongful quarrel for worldly gain, upon pain of death or
forfeiture loss of knighthood and King Arthur s favour (Doc E). The codes were put in place by
leaders in power. In Japan the power was merchants being at the bottom and Emperors at the top.
They had symbolic power only though (Doc A). In Europe, the Pope was at the top and Peasant
Serfs on the bottom (Doc A).
Feudalism: A system to keep order in the land. The training, loyalty, poems, armour, codes, and
power of Samurai and Knights all help that. With that, you have the option to go either way. Do
you think the differences are greater than the similarities? I was limited to six documents, to answer
the question myself. I answered that they were more of the same. The Knights and Samurai are
very similar and very different in many

Explain How Different Types of Interventions Can Promote...
CYP 3.1 3.4 Explain how different types of interventions can promote positive outcomes for
children and young people where development is not following the expected pattern. There are
many different types of professionals who can offer support to children who are not following
the expected pattern of development, the support is usually coordinated by the schools, SENCO
(Special Educational Needs Co ordinator). If a child starts school with a disability the SENCO
will have been informed by the child s parents prior to the child starting. The child may already be
receiving support from a number of professionals. For example a child with a physical disability
may well be receiving treatment from a physiotherapist, with exercises given to... Show more

Educational Psychologist A child will be assessed by an educational psychologist if there are
concerns about their intellectual, communication and behavioural development. Assessments can
be arranged by the SENCO or independently. The aim of the assessments is to find out why the
child is not progressing and what support is needed in order for them to progress. Specific
learning difficulties are often identified in this way such as Dyslexia, AHAD, Dyspraxia. Support
and targets for the child are then set to help them achieve. The outcome of the assessments may
involve the child referred to other professionals e.g. occupational therapist, optometrist, speech and
language therapist, psychiatrist. The psychologist will advise the school on how to promote
development for example, keeping verbal instructions simple. Keep stories and group activities
short to match attention span. Additional Learning Support Additional learning support means
giving children extra help or support so they can get the most out of their education and reach
their fullest potential. This may mean for example a physically disabled child needs one to one
assistance throughout the school day when moving around the school buildings. However it does
not just apply to children who have long term difficulties or disabilities. For example a child who
has moved school mid year may need additional support for a short

The Los Angeles Facility For Disaster Recovery
The theme of this paper is expanding the analysis of the problem statement through identification of
the issues scope, scale, effect, and so forth, considering various company organization structures.
Additionally, the paper s content outlines the considerations of solving the problem to achieve
organization success. This overriding critical IT issue facing the Fox Television network and cable
affiliates is disaster recovery. The result of a natural disaster may halt network operations, which
will result in a revenue shortfall for outage duration. The expansion of the problem statement is
centered primarily in a few levels of the company s organization, including, individual, traditional

Many may consider that the exploration of the television distribution systems is not related to
traditional IT components. However, many elements of the traditional television distribution
facility are changing to using IT components, and the identification and analysis methods use a
similar analysis approach. This paper s content will concentrate on the issue of exploring how to
move the network to an alternative distribution location.
Problem Statement
The Fox network transmits over satellite communication infrastructure, and terrestrial fiber
networks 36 linear television programing services from its Los Angeles facility. Additionally, the
facility provides about 100 Internet provided linear and non linear television services. These
services only provide programming to the United States audience. Other global transmission
facilities provide the programming services for the remaining global countries of the world. The
Los Angeles facility uses a highly integrated automation system to manage the expense of providing
the services.
Computerized data, such as television material, is critical to the survival of the enterprise (Omar,
Alijani, Mason, 2011). The Fox organization relies on computerized systems to provide daily
operations (Omar, Alijani, Mason, 2011). Fox has a strategy for providing an infrastructure for
recovering operations if fire, hurricanes or other natural disasters

An Analysis Of Ros Suskind s A Hope
Ros Suskind: A hope in the Unseen
A typical high school student like Cedric Jennings in the novel A hope in the Unseen would never
prefer to write on the style and voice of a novel over a mathematical derivation of two pages. Style
is very difficult to determine in a novel, but what is more difficult is to find the thin and blurred
line between style and voice. Theoretically, while style is the way by which an author chooses
words, makes decisions on sentence structures; whether long or short, and also paragraph structure,
voice is the external tincture of attitude and demeanour every reader would be able to link to a
particular author while reading any of the author s works.
Authors have over the ages, managed to infuse their external life into their works, not through the
contents, but through the style they choose to bring into bare in the writing. Ros Suskind is one of
the many authors who have gone this way in trying to pass on a message of resilience, hope and
doggedness in the novel A hope in the Unseen .
In the course of this study, an analysis of the development and enhancement of the characterization
of Cedric Jennings will be carried out. This analysis will be carried out under the specific targets
of syntax, use of figurative, selection of details and diction.
The style of writing inherent in this work was made prominent by the author s point of view. He
used the omniscient point of view, which added his ability to honestly but literarily delve into the

Have any of you had a nickname that stuck with you, even if you hated the name? Even if it was

Lynnie evolved into Lynnie the Pooh (instead of Winnie the Pooh), then Pooh Bear and eventually
just Pooh . Oh, it seemed harmless enough coming out of the mouths of my parents or
grandparents, but my three brothers could make that one syllable Pooh seem nasty and menacing.

Instead of Doubting Thomas , we could change his nickname to Devastated Thomas . His Lord

had been executed. That doesn t leave a lot of room for hope. Thomas and the other disciples had

When Devastated Thomas returns to knock on the door of the locked room, he expects the

The days of selling to a buyer alone are slowing dying. Companies sell products that have a wide
effect on the client and require approval from many levels. Success in complex sales is the result of

both the selling and client side throughout the salesprocess. What is team selling? Team selling is
using the resources of a company to sell an account using all relevant decision makers. The goal of

Planning Presentations
Sales presentations should be simple not overwhelming with information a customer may not be
able to remember. The goal of a sales presentation is to sell a solution to a customer, that solution
being the product or service of the salesperson. A presentation must be relevant, make a connection
with the product and the prospect, be to point, use showmanship, be animated, use physical
demonstration, and belief in the product.
In a team selling environment, one person could give the presentation, one could answer questions,
or however the team decides to set up the presentation. The one thing that should not happen is each
person give there own presentation on the same product; do not confuse the customer. All team
members should be clear on roles and responsibilities. A team should always be together so all
members give the same answers and information to the customer.
Selecting and Recruiting
When hiring salespeople set of qualifications and a job description with the duties the salesperson
will do should be established. Many companies use outside agencies to help screen and find the best
candidates, with some candidates working on a temporary basis. Time, organizational and territory
management skills will be extremely important in a candidate for a sales position. Recruitment

When you get a credit card you would feel as if spending
money is painless and easy. Using cash will cause you to
think because it would disappear for every, making it more
of a harder thing to do. Making credit cards easier to spend
money on causing people to go into debit.
How do people go into
debt ?
Credit card organizations don t just give people money
because they want to be nice. Those companies count
on people being forgetful or not responsible causing
them to be late or not being able to pay off their debit.
if you are late or it s just the matter that you don t have
enough money to pay it off that month, then you will
have to pay a fee. On top of that free their will be
interest. So then you will have to end up paying more
from what you actually owe. They do not care if you go
under a spiral of debit, it s just a game to them , and the
companies are the ones getting rich.
How can I prevent debt?
Since companies want people to fall
under debit. Try to not be that
person. Be that person who pays
their money they owe every month.
Don t buy food or things under 10
dollars with it. Create a budget ,
which shows you where and how much many you can spend.
Finally , when you are buying something with your credit

The World Transition From Brain Deadening Media
Introduction
Hawkins said I wanted to help the world transition from brain deadening media like broadcast
television to interactive media that would connect people and help them grow. Electronic Arts
(EA), one of the leading companies in the gaming world, was founded by Trip Hawkins in the
year 1982 and is headquartered in Redwood City, California. The company s corporate
governance is constituted by a board of nine directors including Larry Probst (Chairman) and
Andrew Wilson (CEO). Hawkins envisioned EA as a publishing company that would be known for
its quality and professionalism, working with the best independent talent to make the gaming
industry equivalent to movies, books or music. Consumers, employees and shareholders are the
main stakeholders in the company. EA hopes to build lifetime players by relentlessly improving
quality. It is known that Hawkins wanted to properly credit and compensate the talent that
developed games, giving them the same respect that artists in other media enjoyed. Ever since it
became public at $8 per share in the year 1990, EA keeps its shareholders well informed about
crucial information such as investor kits, conference presentations, stock prices etc.
Background
At first, the company was named Amazin Software. In October of 1982, the company was renamed
to Electronic Arts since Hawkins wanted to recognize software as an art form. EA has a number of
business strategies. First, expanding rapidly through timely acquisitions. From 2000

the relevance of faith is marked by the prisoners when they cross themselves before eating or how
Shukhov would refer to his bunkmate as Alyosha the Baptist because being imprisoned is
something he has earned and has time to reflect on God and Jesus. He amazingly, manages to hide

Stamp Act Haven t they done enough Who do they think they are We are our own this is not
right Colonists protest at the news of the new law. The year of 1765 and the Stamp Act was
passed by the British Parliament, and the colonists were not happy. Taxation without
representation is how the colonist saw it. The Stamp Act was a tax that came from the British,
which required colonists to pay a tax for every single piece of paper they used. Britain had an
official stamp that was required to buy a piece of paper. Newspapers, legal documents, license,
ships paper and even playing cards all required a stamp. This is where the Stamp Act inherited its
name. Taxes were sent straight to the king for his war. In the colony of Jamestown there was a
small gathering in the Grants home. Mary Grant and the children, Mary and Mason Grant were
already in bed for the night. Conversations about politics were not for women or children. The parlor

Colonists did not react well to the new tax. Fire was fueled with fire as colonist shared their
anger, which resulted in many rebellious acts. Boston merchants and their wives started the first
reaction, which was boycotting. Boycotts had worked before and it was totally legal in the
colonies. Next were the riots. Colonists would ban together and pressure the tax collector to
resign, if the collector was to refuse they would be mobbed until they would do so. That was just
the beginning. Rioters had attacked one of the tax collector s home, destroying everything from
furniture and clothes to paper and books, the colonist made sure to cause costly damages. There
was even incidents of physical abuse. Stamp agents were being hung or were burnt to death. On
March 18th of 1766 the stamp act was repealed due to the boycotts and riots. The colonies had
succeeded but the peace would not last for long. There was more coming the colonies

The Importance Of The Charter Of Rights And Freedom
The Charter of Rights and Freedom is a part of the Canadian Constitution which is a set of laws
with basic rules that run our country. Before the Charter was established, the Canadian society
was corrupt and unjust, but with the addition of it, Canada grew into a renowned wealthy, free,
and equal country. The Charter puts in place rights and freedoms that are necessary for a
balanced democratic society and it involves laws and rules that keep citizens protected and safe. It
also provides opportunities for social and economic success for not only the people of Canada, but
for Canada as a whole. The establishment of the Charter by Queen Elizabeth II on April 17, 1982
was truly the start of a positive, social and legal revolution for Canada that would continue to
benefit us and the country even today (Canadian 1; sec. 3, para. 8).
The Charter is divided into categorized sections that have different sets of rights or freedoms, but
they all come together to complete one job and that is ensuring every Canadian s rights and
keeping everyone safe. The greatest impact of the Charter has always been in the area of criminal
law. Charter protected legal rights mean more prominent protections for accused people, including
the right to speak to a lawyer, to not be detained subjectively, and to be free against unreasonable
search and seizure (Significance 1; sec. 5, para. 1). These things really makes Canada a fair and just
country. But, although the greatest impact of the Charter has been

Theme Of The Poem Half Past Two Bye U A Fanthrope
How do different poets explore the themes of childhood and growing up? Explore three poems in
detail and refer to at least three others.
In the poem of Half past Two bye U.A Fanthrope, she explores the themes of childhood and its
experience by using short, free flowing structures, simple sentences, languages and most
importantly time. This suggests that adults and children have different opinions on whatever they
do. The poem is structured in free verse to present poem in an unusual way, showing that the boy
is still learning the rules of the school and time. The ideas are expressed freely since free verse
conveys sense of natural flow therefore laying out an easygoing pace. The poem starts with
juxtapositions of Once Upon a and schooltime ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Vernon Scannellwas enlisted in the army when he was 18, and was involved in the famous battle
of Normandy Landing. Although he hated his life as a soldier, he continued to write poems about
it and that experience affected the way he wrote this poem Hide and Seek . This poem is written
in single stanza with free verse and no rhythm so he can choose which vocabularies, techniques to
use for maximum effects. Hide and Seek tries to show the boy s breathless attempt to win the game.
From this, we can see that children are very aggressive and enthusiastic when it comes to things that
they enjoy doing.
The languages used in this poem illustrates very tense and emotional atmosphere and therefore
single stanza is appropriate. Unbroken sentences build tension and as they boy waits for this friends
to find him, a breathless moment is presented. Tone is very crucial in this poem as it shifts from
excitement and feeling of triumphant as to strong disappointment and

The Folk Through Three Decades
This essay, by Sija Tsai, demonstrates in a historical chronology how the WFF (Winnipeg Folk
Festival) changed its suggested definition of the folk through three decades. She explored this topic
by exploring media coverage and administrator beliefs on the subject of the folklore presence at
these festivals.
The festival was inaugurated in 1974 and was originally designated to celebrate Winnipeg s
centenary. However, with its success, the festival because an annual celebration of folk. At its
beginnings, the WFF featured mostly Anglo North American and Irish folk singers. the musical
acts would feature performances (often vocal) of traditional material (often ballads) and original
material (often highly politicized) by mostly young ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The outcome of the pluralization of the WFF performances had mixed reviews. Some participants
thought that the festival was betraying their folk value due to the implementation of more popular
and world artist and others argued that it was a good change and that it supported a diversity
acceptance narrative. The pluralization of performances in the WFF s continued through the 1980
s and 1990 s. During the 1990 s there was an apparent fusion of traditional and popular idioms
which further blurred the lines between its suggested binary. During the early 2000 there were
questions addressing the political issues of the program such as the apparent absence of aboriginal
performances.
In conclusion, the change in performance seen in the last three decades of the WFF shows that the
idea of the folk is tangible and is subject to change. One of the principle reason that its definition
changes is because of the underlying idea that folk music is music which features exoticism from
the normal repertoire which constitutes a Canadian identity. Therefore, while in the 1970, the
English ballads were considered different, as the performance frequency of the English ballads
were growing, its integration into the Canadian sound/music identity was being solidified. Hence,
the three decades of folk festival shows that this continuous search for the exotic and fusion is due

Relationship Between Mass And Acceleration
Hypothesis:
In the world of force, when Physicists are talking about apply forces, the relationship between mass
and acceleration has been attractive for long. Although Sir Isaac Newton has already solved this
problem centuries ago, it is still crucial to perform an experiment to prove this relationship to

For this reason, the Prime Minister and his cabinet have to be from the dominant party or coalition
in the assembly. In the case where the President and the Assembly are from opposing parties, then a
situation known as cohabitation is created. Motions of censure are most of the time proposed by
the opposition following government actions that it considers highly inapt, they are purely
rhetorical this means that the party discipline should see to it that throughout a parliamentary term,
the government is never overthrown or given a motion of censure by the assembly (Constitution
Declaration 2011).
The Shura Council also known as the consultative council is a 264 member upper house of
Parliament that came to being in the 1980 s. In the Shura Council 176 members are directly
elected and 88 members are appointed by the President of the Republic for six year terms. One
half of the Shura Council is renewed every three years. The Shura Council s legislative powers are

There currently exist eighteen recognized political parties from across the political spectrum.

My Experience Of A Trip To A School Camp
I m going to be honest here; I had mixed feelings about the school camp. I was standing inside a
subway station with my mom and sister, waiting for my two teachers to show up. I kept on
asking Mom that I want to go home and go on a school camp next year. My mom said that I m in
9th grade and going to a 3 day schoolcamp would be a great experience. When my two teachers
arrived, my sister and I said our goodbyes and off we were to camp. During the whole subway ride,
I was upset about the camp; I thought it was going to be boring. However, when I got there, I
realized how wrong I was. When we got to our last stop, we had to walk all the way up the hill to
where our campsite was. By the time we were inside the entrance, I was exhausted.... Show more

In a couple of minutes or so, the teachers had us all sit inside a room, which was near the boys
cabin. One of the teachers told us some basic camp rules and told us to turn our phones in. He
encouraged us to have fun and at the same time be safe. Before we were dismissed, he pointed
out that the team list and the camp schedule were posted inside the boy s and girls cabins; I
looked at the team list and I was placed in Team A. In a few minutes both teams designed each of
their team cheers. Finally, after that we had a water gun fight. I was splashed only once. Even
though I was very wet, I was too happy to mind. It was also very hot outside, which would dry my
clothes in a few minutes. During the water gun fight, the teacher told the students to stop filling up
their water guns because the bathrooms got flooded and muddy. Instead of playing something else,
some students found a loophole; they filled their water guns from the edible water fountain. The
teacher was furious when he found out about it. I asked him that where should I fill my water bottle
when there s no water in the drinking fountain. He said that the water bottle for the fountain would

people could possibly challenge themselves more to the task at hand and create an improved

How Did The Liberal Government Act Of Social Reform...
The Introduction of Social Reforms by the Liberal Government in 1906 1914
There are multiple reasons why the Liberal government introduced acts of social reform between
1906 and 1914. The obvious reason is that there was a great need for reform(change) but there
are also many other factors that played a part in the decision for a reform. This change was really
required to help and improve Britain. The reason for this need for change was the poor conditions
that all parts of Britain had been left in after the conservatives had been in power.
It is often said that the Liberals had to introduce in social reforms due to pressure from the Labour
party. This new party was formed in 1903... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Because of this there were committees set up to evaluate and analyze this to show that the
physical condition males was very poor, as this was the group of people who would be defending
Britain for years to come something needed to be done. If Britain would always struggle to defeat.
The other factor that made the need seem realistically more desperate was from surveys carried
out indifferent places by two very different men Seebohm Rowntree and Charles Booth. The
carried surveys out on all classes but were very concerned about the poor. After many years of
analyzing and evaluating they calculated that a family of fives minimum necessary income per
week for a family to exist at mere physical efficiency was 21s 8d. this minimum amount was called
the poverty line. Over a third of the population of Britain were earning under this poverty line
whilst another third were just meeting it. Nearly all of the unemployment was caused by ill health
or just lack of work available. If the man lost his job the whole family would struggle to survive.
This is when sometimes the children were sent out to work. The liberals needed to change this and
New Liberalism was the way.

Unemployment Of The Australian Economy
In the Australian economy, trending unemployment rates are a prevailing socio economic issue.
With the labour market central to unemployment and the distribution of jobs, many factors arise as
the key influences on unemployment. With an incredible number of industries facing high demand
by consumers, it is speculated that employment would feature an increase to compensate. However,
many factors of the labour market contradict this and instead increase unemployment. Factors such
as the level of economic growth, technological changes, trends in productivity and the trends in
inadequate education have adverse effects on how unemployment increases and decreases.
Unemployment Overview Unemployment in the Australian economy is defined as the state of
involuntary idleness of work, and the rate of such. An extremely complex, it is often segregated into
four key demographics for analysis: national, state, youth and mature. Each of these four
demographics feature varying trends and are consistently affected by different factors of the labour
market. Causes of Unemployment The trend in unemployment within the Australian economy has
swayed significantly in the past 30 years. As of current, the national unemployment rate has been
established at 5.8%, after an unexpected downturn from 6% in February of 2016 ( Australia
Unemployment Rate | 1978 2016 ). Over the past 30 years, the trend of national unemployment has
been a downward drop, steadily moving from an approximate 8.2% in 1976 to

Does The Government Influence The Role Of The Church And...
While our Founding Fathers did not intend for the government to interfere with Church and
family roles, it is clear from America s history that this is exactly what has happened. Over the
past few centuries, the government has slowly taken over the roles of the Church and family.
The role of the Church is supposed to provide hope to the unreached and unsaved and be a place
to grow closer to God. The role of the family is to provide care for one another and connect to each
other on a personal level. The governmenthas slowly been taking these roles away and replacing it
with their own laws and regulations. Over the years, the United Statesgovernment has slowly
usurped the roles of the Church and family system and removed God from many things, causing

This has changed to the government overtaking the roles of the Church and family. First of all,
the government has had a major impact on the Church. People have come to trust the government
rather than trusting the Church. There are many reasons for this including: if there are no jobs,
people go to the government s welfare; if you need food, you get food stamps instead of relying
on the Church; and if you need medical support, you get Medicaid instead of relying on the
Church for support. The government has also taken away the right of talking about God in the
public school system. Instead of schools allowing free speech, there are certain requirements about
what can and cannot be talked about. Since the government operates the public schools, they get to
decide what to teach the kids, even if it is not Spiritually related. Furthermore, giving taxes to the
Church is hard to do when you have to pay the Government about 30% of your income. The Bible
tells us to give 10% of our income to God. Overall, the government has replaced religion with
science, and people put their trust in the government rather than the Church. Next, the government
has replaced the roles of the

The slaves sided with the British because they wanted their freedom. They didn t wanted to side

He put charges on the pioneers tea, paper, and numerous different things that they utilized as
often as possible, if not day by day. These assessments were known as the Townsend Acts and
King George did not give settlers any say or vote in Parliament in the duties. Part of the cash
gathered even went to the provincial representative s pocket. To free themselves from these
tyrannic charges, the pioneers joined together and boycotted British items. These blacklists
brought on the English dealers to lose cash thus they betrayed King George for inciting the
blacklists. Additionally, King George did not submit to the Magna Carta by saddling the British
homesteaders. In the Magna Carta, it is unmistakably expressed in Clause 12, No . . . help

George III was uncalled for when the settlers brought up out and said that since they were over a

  • 2. The Rise Of Awareness Of Police Brutality Towards Black Males Although written in the late 1980s with the rise of awareness of police brutality towards black males in America, it is clearly evident that black people are treated differently especially in terms of racial profiling. According to analysis by New York Civil Liberties Union, in 2013 83% of the people stopped in New York for a frisk and search were black or Hispanic with only 12% being white and of all the people stopped 81% were completely innocent. Racial profiling causing an uneasiness to those who are victims of it, for Brent Staples it resulted in him changing his behaviour to suit those around him. Selectively picking his attire, the time he walked and places he walked at the specific times. Even steely New Yorkers hunching toward nighttime destinations seem to relax, and occasionally they even join in the tune. Virtually everybody seems to sense that a mugger wouldn t be warbling bright, sunny selections from Vivaldi s Four Seasons. The writer, Brent Staples, would have to whistle to reassure others of their safety and comfort just because he was a minority, the worst was assumed of him from first impressions. In Brent s situation the uneasiness from racial profiling lead to him altering his lifestyle and this is a reality for many young people of colour who have to selectively choose what they wear as to not appear thuggish while they walk the streets. Racial profiling causes individuals from minorities to change aspects of their life and can also lead to a ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. The Day I Enlisted During The United States Army The day I enlisted in the United States Army is the day my life changed and everything else around me, it is who I am today. Before then, I grew up in a family of five, four boys and one girl. Struggling day by day just to get around, my mother at that time was the only one working and my father was politician man and working for the Mayor his right hand man for about four years. Until the new election came and that s when my father got released from his job. With my mother the only one working she had many mouths to feed, my dad would do the best he could every day. My dad was like a jack of all trades as people would say, he is a fisherman, carpenter, cook and other skills I didn t know he possessed. My father even though he was not... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... So when I turned eighteen, I and some of my classmates flew to the neighboring island to see the United States Army Recruiter. My recruiter showed me a video of what an infantryman does and I was sold, then told him that this is the perfect job for me. I didn t know what I was getting myself into. It was hard for my parents to accept that I was joining the Army, especially my mom, all she could think of was that I was going to war and bad things could happen to me. She didn t want me to experience that kind of life and she couldn t bear the thought of losing one of her own children. So the day I flew off to basic I told my parents, Everything will be fine trust me . This was my first time leaving the islands and being away from my family for a good while. So myself and two of my buddies started basic training together, we stuck together as soon as we got to 30th AG. I didn t know what I was getting myself into I have never seen so many different people in one area. I have never experienced being away on my own for the first time, I had no clue what was going on. I wanted to give up and quit, but I told myself no! I cannot go back home as a quitter, ever since then, my motivation that kept me going was my family and friends, I wanted them to be proud of who I ve become. • 4. Shakespeare and Chopin In one of the William Shakespeare s greatest plays, Macbeth, we can see an influence years later in Kate Chopin s novel The Awakening. At the end of the tragedy Lady Macbeth folds under the pressure paralleling some the burdens Edna Pontellier suffers from. Many of Lady Macbeth s personalities are reflected in Edna. Through the suicidal acts taken by both characters at the conclusion of the books, we can see the how Lady Macbethinfluenced Chopin. Macbeth also has a great influence upon the personality of Edna. Edna has a similar battle, hers being between society and her desire to fulfill her sexual desires and be independent. Theses unwritten rules of society determine the fate for both of these characters. Clearly Chopin has taken... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Macbeth also has some paralleling qualities reflected in Edna that are discovered during Act V Scene 5 of Macbeth. In Shakespeare s famous quote, To morrow, and to morrow, and to morrow, Creeps in this petty pace from day to day to the last syllable of recorded time And all out yesterdays have lighted fools The way to dusty death. (Shakespeare 177), Shakespeare conveys a dim reality that nothing is worth living for anymore. Enda Pontellier finds herself in the same situation at the end of The Awakening, with a melancholy existence and nothing left to live for: There was no despondency when she fell asleep that night; nor was there hope when she awoke in the morning. (Chopin146). She goes through the motions the last few days before she makes her trip into the deep seas. Macbeth lives his last few hours with a sense of hopelessness, which Chopin entwines as a basic sentiment for Edna. Another similarity can be seen between Macbeth and Edna through their similar desires. Macbeth s desires of becoming king are inspired by the three withes. Robert arouses Edna s desires to engage in sexual activity. Macbeth and Edna both these desires that go against the norm of society. In order for Macbeth to rise to king he must murder King Duncan, which the society does not consider to be moral. In Act V Scene 5 we see a defeated Macbeth, as he was able to overcome or live above the rules of society. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 6. Angela Carter’s The Bood Chamber Essay In Angela Carter s The Bloody Chamber, the theme of transformation appears throughout the short story cycle. The hero/heroine s virginity acts as a source of strength that protects them from harm. Their lack of fear also saves them from death. Virginity acts as power of potentia, either literally or symbolically and results in a release of an observed transformative power. The bloody chamber serves a different symbolic purpose of transformation for Beauty in The Courtship of Mr Lyon , the heroine in The Tiger s Bride and the Countess in The Lady of the House of Love. When she puts on her robe of fur, she becomes her own beast, showing a parallel between her and the Beast. Beauty undergoes a physical alteration essential for her negative transformation, due to her susceptibility to corruptibility. Since she was learning at the end of her adolescence, how to be a spoiled child and that pearly skin of hers was plumping out, a little, with high living and compliments (48 49). • 7. Howard Gardner And Gardner s Theory Of Multiple Intelligences Numerous are growing interested in what makes them who they are, along with how exactly they fit into society. In fact, a variety of concepts exist that individuals commonly apply to their own identity. Aiding people, the ideas help explore who they truly are as well as help understand themselves better. But at the same time, they can either be helpful and relate to you with your identity, or do the complete opposite. Of the broad amount of concepts to the identification of people, there are three that exist named Gardner s Theory of Multiple Intelligences, Adler s Birth Order, as well as learning styles. Each person is unique in their own way, especially the outstanding capabilities of their mind. For example, it is common to only know of the visual learning, auditory learning, and kinesthetic learningaspects, but what people do not know is that the mind goes beyond that (Lane). Developed by Howard Gardner exists the Multiple Intelligences, which consists of nine different intelligences. Of all of the intelligences exists Verbal linguistic, Logical mathematical, Spatial visual, Bodily kinesthetic, Musical, Interpersonal, Intrapersonal, Naturalist, and Existential (Howard Gardner s Theory of Multiple Intelligences). It was commissioned by the French Convention to glorify Marat and to serve as a propaganda that upholds the momentum of the revolution. By doing so, David aimed to raise people s sympathies towards Marat by portraying him as the savior of the revolution, friend of the People , and the victim. He idealized Marat and chose to bias towards Marat on this assassination event. During the revolution, Marat guillotined whoever seemed to be opposing him, he was seen as merciless and brutal leader with great power. • 10. Backpressure Based Adaptive Routing and Scheduling In... Under high trafп¬Ѓc conditions, this works very well, and backpressure is able to fully utilize the available network resources in a highly dynamic fashion. Under low traffic conditions, however, because many other nodes may also have a small or 0 queue size, there is inefficiency in terms of an increase in delay, as packets may loop or take a long time to make their way to the destination. This is particularly of concern in intermittent encounter based mobile networks which are already delay limited due to the sparse and highly dynamic network connectivity. Such networks have proposed the use of redundant transmissions to improve delay, which do not work well when the trafп¬Ѓc load is high. Routing protocol, such as Spray and Wait, that ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The additional transmissions incurred by BWAR due to the duplicates utilize available slots which would otherwise go idle, in order to reduce the delay. Particularly for networks that are not energy limited, this offers a more efп¬Ѓcient way to utilize the available bandwidth during low load conditions. In order to minimize the storage resource utilization of duplicate packets, ideally, these duplicate packets should be removed from the network whenever a copy is delivered to the destination. Since this may be difп¬Ѓcult to implement (except in some kinds of networks with a separate control plane), we also propose and evaluate a practical timeout mechanism for automatic duplicate removal. Under high load conditions, because queues are rarely empty, duplicates are rarely created, and BWAR effectively reverts to traditional backpressure and inherits its throughput optimality property. By design, BWAR is highly robust and distributed and does not require prior knowledge of locations, mobility patterns, and load conditions. The duplicate queues are maintained and utilized as follows: Original packets when transmitted are removed from the main queue; however, if the queue size is lower than a certain threshold qth, then the transmitted packet is duplicated and kept in the duplicate buffer associated with its destination if it is not full (otherwise no duplicate is created). Duplicate packets are not removed from the duplicate buffer when transmitted. They ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 11. Andrew Jackson s Colorful Military Career The seventh president of the United States had a colorful military career before he became Commander in Chief. Andrew Jackson, born 1767 in South Carolina, was a prisoner of war during War of Independence; his treatment resulting in a lifelong dislike of Great Britain, ( Andrew Jackson n.d.). After the British captured the belligerent Jackson, he was ordered to clean a British officer s boots. When he refused, the officer drew his sword and slashed Jackson s hand to the bone, (Patrick, n.d.). This memorable treatment by the British inspired Jackson to take up arms against the British in the War of 1812. It also helped to foment Jackson s political ideologies that were staunchly anti federalist. In addition to his encounters with the British during the Revolutionary War, Jackson was notorious for having indulged in many a duel, including one in which he killed Charles Dickenson (Patrick, n.d.). Jackson s early military career consists mainly of his involvement in the War of 1812, followed by the Creek War in 1813 1814, and then culminating in the Battle of New Orleans in 1815. • 12. Life Changing Experience In My Life I was eleven years old when I first became a certified scuba diver, and over the last thirteen years none of the dives I d been on could prepare me for this one night. My vacation started out just like all the other family dive trips I had been on, white sandy beaches, crystal clear what, warm ocean breeze, and brilliantly bright colored fish but it all changed when my father came back from a night dive with a story to tell. My siblings, husband and I all gathered around the dinner table eager to hear about my father s adventures. He starts off slowly making sure he has everyone s undivided attention before he discloses any details of importance. Once we were all on the edge of our seats practically begging for him to speak he takes a long slow drink, looks each of us in the eye and says I ve had the most incredible life changing experience on this night dive. We all sit in awe wondering what could have possibly happened to make him feels this way. He continues his story explaining that the dive team and him went down to the ocean floor and turned off all their lights, and before they knew it they were surround by thousands of bioluminescent creatures. As tears brim his eyes he continues describing the mysterious yet magical beauty of the ocean world. My father continues his tale as I peer around the table at the faces of all my siblings, and have the horrible realization that they all want to go on a night dive now. • 13. Hemigrapsus Sanguineus Research Paper Hemigrapsus sanguineus, commonly known as the Asian Shore Crab, has been a major player in the evolution of certain defenses of New England bivalve molluscs. Mytilus edulis, the New England blue mussel, has been directly impacted by the predation of the Asian Shore Crab. H. sanguineus is an invasive species to the Atlantic coast of the United States. It first appeared in the southern New England area in 1988, presumably by trade ships from the Western Pacific. It has since spread to the south Atlantic and is still expanding slowly northward as well (Stokstad, 2006). Introductions to new areas by humans allow for species who would never cross evolutionary paths to do just that. The company s corporate governance is constituted by a board of nine directors including Larry Probst (Chairman) and Andrew Wilson (CEO). Hawkins envisioned EA as a publishing company that would be known for its quality and professionalism, working with the best independent talent to make the gaming industry equivalent to movies, books or music. Consumers, employees and shareholders are the main stakeholders in the company. EA hopes to build lifetime players by relentlessly improving quality. It is known that Hawkins wanted to properly credit and compensate the talent that developed games, giving them the same respect that artists in other media enjoyed. Ever since it became public at $8 per share in the year 1990, EA keeps its shareholders well informed about crucial information such as investor kits, conference presentations, stock prices etc. Background At first, the company was named Amazin Software. Before the Charter was established, the Canadian society was corrupt and unjust, but with the addition of it, Canada grew into a renowned wealthy, free, and equal country. The Charter puts in place rights and freedoms that are necessary for a balanced democratic society and it involves laws and rules that keep citizens protected and safe. It also provides opportunities for social and economic success for not only the people of Canada, but for Canada as a whole. The establishment of the Charter by Queen Elizabeth II on April 17, 1982 was truly the start of a positive, social and legal revolution for Canada that would continue to benefit us and the country even today (Canadian 1; sec. 3, para. 8). The Charter is divided into categorized sections that have different sets of rights or freedoms, but they all come together to complete one job and that is ensuring every Canadian s rights and keeping everyone safe. The pluralization of performances in the WFF s continued through the 1980 s and 1990 s. During the 1990 s there was an apparent fusion of traditional and popular idioms which further blurred the lines between its suggested binary. During the early 2000 there were questions addressing the political issues of the program such as the apparent absence of aboriginal performances. In conclusion, the change in performance seen in the last three decades of the WFF shows that the idea of the folk is tangible and is subject to change. One of the principle reason that its definition changes is because of the underlying idea that folk music is music which features exoticism from the normal repertoire which constitutes a Canadian identity. Therefore, while in the 1970, the English ballads were considered different, as the performance frequency of the English ballads were growing, its integration into the Canadian sound/music identity was being solidified. While our Founding Fathers did not intend for the government to interfere with Church and family roles, it is clear from America s history that this is exactly what has happened. Over the past few centuries, the government has slowly taken over the roles of the Church and family. The role of the Church is supposed to provide hope to the unreached and unsaved and be a place to grow closer to God. The role of the family is to provide care for one another and connect to each other on a personal level. The governmenthas slowly been taking these roles away and replacing it with their own laws and regulations. Over the years, the United Statesgovernment has slowly usurped the roles of the Church and family system and removed God from many things, causing Americans to put... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This has changed to the government overtaking the roles of the Church and family. First of all, the government has had a major impact on the Church. People have come to trust the government rather than trusting the Church. There are many reasons for this including: if there are no jobs, people go to the government s welfare; if you need food, you get food stamps instead of relying on the Church; and if you need medical support, you get Medicaid instead of relying on the Church for support. The government has also taken away the right of talking about God in the public school system. Instead of schools allowing free speech, there are certain requirements about what can and cannot be talked about. Since the government operates the public schools, they get to decide what to teach the kids, even if it is not Spiritually related. Furthermore, giving taxes to the Church is hard to do when you have to pay the Government about 30% of your income. The Bible tells us to give 10% of our income to God. Overall, the government has replaced religion with science, and people put their trust in the government rather than the Church. Next, the government has replaced the roles of the ... These assessments were known as the Townsend Acts and King George did not give settlers any say or vote in Parliament in the duties. Part of the cash gathered even went to the provincial representative s pocket. To free themselves from these tyrannic charges, the pioneers joined together and boycotted British items. These blacklists brought on the English dealers to lose cash thus they betrayed King George for inciting the blacklists. Additionally, King George did not submit to the Magna Carta by saddling the British homesteaders. In the Magna Carta, it is unmistakably expressed in Clause 12, No . . . help (charges) might be forced . . . unless by regular advice of our kingdom. Nevertheless, King George III was uncalled for when the settlers brought up out and said that since they were over a sea, the Magna Carta did not have any significant bearing to ...
