Final Design For The Ball Sorting Device Essay
Final Design
Our final design for the ball sorting device is composed of 5 primary components: Ramp, separation
device, dome, base, and collection device.
Separation device:
The need for a separation device came to attention as interference between the balls on the ramp as
well as the dome was observed. To avoid interference there needed to be space between the balls. The
separation device is a hollow, circular cylinder with rods inserted horizontally (parallel to the radius
and perpendicular to the height) from one side and out throughout the other, but at different angles,
with vertical spacing between the rods. This would basically function like a pegboard; As the balls fall
into the cylinder they will collide with the road and will fall onto either side of the rod, and continue
falling until they hit another rod. Each time they hit a rod there will be a ½ probability for the balls to
tilt towards either side. A total of of rods were inserted. A cardboard tube was used as the cylinder and
chopsticks as the rods. The materials chosen were cheap, lightweight, and strong enough. This
introduces randomness in the system as well the slowing of the balls falling so that space between the
balls are created. The balls then enter the ramp.
Ramp:
The ramp is the source of energy for the balls. Energy here is in the form of gravity, as the start of the
ramp is elevated to and it provides potential energy using the formula, where m is the mass of the
individual balls provided, h as

Jacksonian Democracy Dbq Essay
Jacksonian Democrats help create a more democratic America and because of this, believed
themselves to be many things, real and fictional. In most cases they perceived themselves as defenders
of equal economic opportunity, even though they sometimes put their own interests before those of the
people. They also thought of themselves as guardians of political democracy, while at the same time
using class differences to their advantage and emotionalized speeches, lacking real intellectual merit,
to stir support. Jacksonian Democrats felt that they were the protectors of the Constitution and of
individual liberties but many times they put their rivalry with the Northeastern industry and Whig
politics before these things. While Jacksonians ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The case Charles River Bridge v. Warren Bridge decided that a charter given a person or group to do a
service does not allow that group to have complete rights over this service. This decision supports the
Jacksonian Democracy ideas that the rights of the community are more important than the rights of
business (H). However, it is also important to know that Taney was elected by Jackson, and his
decision, well supporting economic equality, also set a precedent for states intervention in commerce.
The Jacksonian Democrats were very important in the revolutions in political democracy that took
place during this period. During this period universal white male suffrage took place and was the first
step towards the revolution of the common man in politics. Also, Jackson s acceptance and support of
the two party system helped create a more democratic America in which people with similar views
could unite in their support of a singular candidate. Many working men of this time period had felt
they had been taken advantage of and misrepresented by tyrannical aristocrats who treated them
poorly (A). Jackson used this to his advantage with emotionalized speeches exploiting class
differences. However, it should be said that during this time period the amount of voters increased
dramatically which means that more Americans were involved in American politics (D). Jackson s use
of the Kitchen Cabinet kept his knowledge of critics and the wants and needs of the people up

Essay on Aristotle s Notion on Eudaimonia and Virtue
In Aristotle s Nicomachean Ethics he accounts that humans should make sacrifices and should
ultimately aim first and foremost for their own happiness . In the paper I will argue that it is really in a
person s best interest to be virtuous . I will do this by first describing Aristotle s notion on both
eudaimonia and virtue , as well as highlighting the intimate relationship between the two . Secondly I
will talk about the human role in society. Thirdly I will describe the intrinsic tie between human
actions . Finally I will share the importance of performing activities virtuously .
The central notion of Aristotle is eudaimonia or happiness which is best translated as a flourishing
human life . Happiness is a complete and sufficient ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
However , acting virtuous is the mean to becoming virtuous . There are conditions for virtue which
consist of , having the appropriate inner state , taking pleasure in what your doing , doing it for
certainty and firmness , and being aware of what you are dong . If a person performs a virtuous act
without the right intentions the act is not longer virtuous . Virtue is acquired through habituation ,
making or becoming accustom or use to something . A person is not born with virtue , but by nature is
capable of achieving and perfecting virtue . The way in which a person habituates virtue is by
practicing virtuous acts and initiating virtue at a young age .
Happiness is the highest good, being a realization and perfect practice of virtue, which some can
attain, while others have little or none of it... (Aristotle) . The relationship between virtue and
happiness have an close and personal relationship . Virtue is necessary for eudaimonia but it is not
sufficient for eudaimonia . Aristotle believes that virtue is most important to eudaimonia , because
eudaimonia involves activity which is exhibiting excellence or virtue . Eudaimonia will be gained
when something is developed properly . To exhibit something well one must do it with excellence ;
therefore eudaimonia is dependent on virtue . In order to live a happy life a person must be virtuous ,
and in order to be virtuous someone must act in the right way and live by the right sort of reasons . For

Genre Borrowing and Political Message in the Host
Genre Borrowing and Political Message in The Host
Released in July 2006, Bong Joon ho s The Host garnered both widespread popularity as the highest
grossing South Korean film ever released in Korea. It was also screening at the Cannes, New York,
and Toronto film festivals and seen by more than a quarter of the Korean population. The Host
embodies political messages both political conditions inside Korea and its relationship with United
States. Bong shows an ambivalent relationship between South Korea and United States by borrowing
Hollywood genre in his films. The Host uses genre that strongly identified with Hollywood, which is
blockbuster plot and monster movie. But Bong does not simply copy Hollywood. This movie is a rare

Through this and other episodes, Bong satirized the very notion of Korea as the miracle of the Han,
recasting that economic miracle as a mutant monster and revealing the high financial, social, and
moral costs of modernization. (889)
Another example of genre borrowing film is Shiri. Shiri tells about the efforts of two of South Korea s
best special agents, who uncover killings in connection to an apparent resurfacing of Hee, a legendary
North Korean sniper and assassin. When it also reported that a highly trained North Korean Special
Forces team are plotting to use a dangerous new explosive in South Korea, it s up to the agents and
counter terrorists to stop any potential threat that will further escalate the North and South Korean
conflict. Like The Host, Shiri is also a big budget movie that uses blockbuster genre, which often
thought of solely as an American product or genre. But Shiri or The Host as Korean blockbuster film

Engineer, inventor, computer programmer are three elements that describe Steve Wozniak. Many
people know that Steve Wozniak an engineer of Apple, but he was so much more. As a well known
engineer of Apple, Steve Wozniak, showed Americans that technology could benefit them in their
daily lives. His legacy showed us to don t give up when you fail.
The early life of Steve Wozniak s call to change started when he figured out that people could not
afford to buy a lot of technology, so he wanted to help. His parents taught him to always try his best in
everything he does. His dad, Francis Jacob Wozniak, came from Michigan and was an engineer.

Analysis Of The Poem Pied And Blackberry Picking
Nature is explored in a number of different ways in Pied Beauty , Pike and Blackberry Picking . The
poems all focus on different sides to nature. All three poems focus on the beauty of nature but Pike
and Blackberry Picking on a more negative side to nature. Nature is praised in each of the three poems
but all have very different meanings and perspectives on nature.
Hopkins Poem Pied Beauty explores nature s beauty. It s described as the perfect place. The poem
begins with Glory be to god and ends with Praise god . The poem is almost a prayer that is thanking
god for nature as it is so beautiful. Hopkins also talks about the rose moles on the trout as they swim.
This shows that God took the time to create such small ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This clearly shows nature s brutality and unforgivingness. Suddenly there were two. Finally one
describes three pike that were caught and how one of which ate the other two. The pike doesn t care
who it eats. It is made to kill;even if it s their relative, it will do whatever it has to, to survive.
Seamus Heaney s Blackberry Picking also presents the beauty of nature however in contrast to Hughes
and Hopkins, Heaney s poem explores man s relationship with nature as a resource and how man
exploits it and becomes greedy. The poem itself is about when Heaney was much younger and would
go blackberry picking. It begins very positively but the second stanza ends the poem negatively
containing sorrow and regret. The blackberries are described as a glossy purple clot suggesting their
attractive beauty. The clot does also represent bloodshed. The word glossy shows the shiny surface of
the skin and clot is describing the big juicy size of it creating a lust for picking it. Man s greed is a
dominant theme throughout the poem as the speaker has a lust for picking as the blackberry s flesh
was sweet . The speaker wanted more of the fruit because they were so nice but soon the sweet flesh
turned sour in the second stanza, which creates disillusionment and unhappiness.
Both Pied Beauty and Blackberry Picking use metaphors and similes to convey nature s beauty by
comparing two things.

Baz Luhrman s Film Romeo and Juliet
Baz Luhrman s Film Romeo and Juliet In the film Romeo and Juliet , Baz Luhrman said that he was
trying to recreate the impact of the original Elizabethan production for a modern mass audience. I am
trying to find out the challenges he faced and how he solved them and say how successful he was in
making the script work for a modern audience. The problems faced by a modern director of Romeo
and Juliet Shakespeare s original audience and theatre and the style and drama Shakespeare s original
audience was made up of the whole social range. At one end of the social scale were the working

The big writing I mentioned are important phrases picked out from the prologue such as two star
crossed lovers take their life. The beginning of the film had a fast and furious opening which made it
more dramatic. The beginning is set at a petrol station which tells us it is modern. I think that because
the language was introduced to us in this way anyone can watch it and gradually will be able to
understand the language. Modern attitudes to Shakespeare: Theatre cinema audiences compared. In
the theatre people used to think it is a rowdy day out. Going to the theatre wasn t very comfortable in
those days because a lot of people had to stand the whole way through the play, and wouldn t have
been able to sit quietly and watch the play like we do in cinemas. People didn t take plays to seriously
and would have talked through the play and even sometimes shouted at the actors. With a play like
Romeo and Juliet there could have been audience participation too. People might have hissed at
Tybalt, or cheered or laughed when Romeo kisses Juliet because even Juliet was played by men too.
The actors would have talked through the play about something

A Midsummer Night s Dream Vs Hoffman
Love triangles or love squares are often featured in romantic comedies today. William Shakespeare
introduced the genre and perfected it when he wrote A Midsummer Night s Dream (Bevington). A
Midsummer Night s Dream is one of the most popular plays written by Shakespeare. In 1999, Michael
Hoffman directed a film adaptation of the play under the same name. While Hoffman kept true to the
dialogue, he changed and added some details to the play and consequently, nullified the play s mirth
and good humour. The movie and the play are similar but differ from each other in various ways.
Shakespeare set the story in Athens in the 1500s and Hoffman set it in an Italian village in the 1900s.
Theseus is the Duke of Athens and Hippolyta is the queen

The Outsider
The Outsider Albert Camus
Albert Camus presents ideas of identity and the human condition in his classic novel The Outsider,
through his exploration of gender and cultural representations as well as an insight into absurdum and
existentialism. These concepts of identity and the human condition reflect on the society in which the
novella has been set, demonstrating how women, those of other cultures and those who are considered
to be different are represented. The novella tells a recollection of events of a young man named
Meursault, emotionally detached from a society where he refuses to conform to society s conventions
and in turn a refusal to play the game . The novella begins with the death of Meursault s mother and
ends with his ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The culture references in the novella show how culture is represented in society. Those in control
leave the culture that is not in control isolated and divided.
Death plays a major role in the novella The Outsider. The story both begins and concludes with a
death, creating the idea that death is all a part of the human condition; we all die in the end, which
reveals Camus own ideologies of absurdism. Death is explored through the structure of the novella,
through the parallels between the death of Meursault s mother in the beginning and the lead up to his
execution in the end. When Meursault s, he shows what most would consider an unusual reaction to
the death of a love one and accepts it. He shows little emotion to the subject and demonstrates his
understanding of death, it is part of our human condition and he has no control over it. It s not my fault
(page 9). Majority of this absurdist content is addressed as Meursault awaits his execution in his
prison cell. Whilst sitting there one evening, his thoughts wonder to the memory of Marie, as he tried
to reason why she hadn t written to him. It crossed his mind that she may be ill or dead, and again like
with his mother, feels no emotion towards the possible death of his girlfriend. It was the natural order
of things... I wasn t interested in her anymore if she was dead (page 110). Meursault sees life as

Tattoos Senior Project
My senior project was over the History of Tattooing, I chose this as my topic because Tattoos really
interest me with all the different styles and meanings behind them. Some things I already knew about
Tattooing is a lot of tribes used tattoos to symbolize things, but I didn t know what. With my research I
expected to find a lot more upfront information, like maybe a for sure area on where they originated
and exactly how it spread, but it was so spread out it was hard for anyone to pinpoint exactly who did
them first.
Doing my senior project I found out that just doodling a Tattoo is difficult because you wouldn t want
it to be flat or too simple, so you have to really but in detail and attempt to put in depth to help your
piece come to life even before it s on skin, What I did was I put in a different color where the bottom
area of the tentacle is and tried to do highlighting with some silver to give more depth. My mentor

Relation between Pearl and Nature in Nathaniel...
The Relation between Pearl and Nature in The Scarlet Letter
In Nathaniel Hawthorne s work, The Scarlet Letter, nature plays a very symbolic role. Throughout the
book, nature is incorporated into the story line. One example of this is with the character of Pearl.
Pearl is very different than all the other characters due to her special relationship with Nature.
Hawthorne personifies Nature as sympathetic towards sins against the puritan way of life. Hester s sin
causes Nature to accept Pearl.
First it is necessary to examine how nature is identified with sin against the Puritan way of life. The
first example of this is found in the first chapter regarding the rosebush at the prison door. This
rosebush is located on one side ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This rosebush symbolizes the sympathy of Nature towards the very people Puritan society has
condemned.
The idea illustrated by the rosebush can therefore be applied to the specific character of Pearl. Because
Pearl was expelled from Puritan society Nature sympathizes with her. Nature s sympathy and partiality
with Pearl can be seen with the sunshine in the forest. Pearl attempts to catch the sunshine and
according to Hawthorn Pearl . . . did actually catch the sunshine . . . The light lingered about the
lonely child, as if glad of such a playmate . . . (146). Hawthorn describes another sign of acceptance as
the great black forest . . . became the playmate of the lonely infant (163). Hawthorne eventually
declares that The truth seems to be . . . that the mother forest, and these wild things which it nourished,
all recognized a kindred wildness in the human child (163). All natural things and Nature accept this
little girl who has been thrust out of Puritan society.
A way to strengthen this point is to show Nature s reaction to Hester. The strange thing is that the
sunshine runs from Hester even though it was her sin against the Puritan laws that produced Pearl who
is accepted by the sunshine or Nature. In fact [the sunshine] runs away and hides itself, because it is
afraid of something on [Hester s] bosom (146), the Scarlet Letter, which represents Hester s
acceptance of Puritan law and

Power/distance (PD); this dimension is concerned with the degree of prevailing inequality. It can be

the score reveals that the people understand their places in the society and accepts the unequal
distribution of power. On the other hand a low PD is said to prevail when the score shows that equality
exists among the members of the society. With reference to the United States and France and the Euro
Disney Company, it is evident that high PD prevails in the French environment while a low PD
prevails in the American environment. The French embraced the centralization system of the affairs of
the company and strong hierarchies. There also existed large gaps in authority and respect in the
French environment. The French system greatly acknowledged the leaders power and preferred

Affirmative Action vs Reverse Discrimination Essay
Affirmative Action or Reverse Discrimination

South University Online
There has been a large debate in recent years if affirmative action has gone against the American way,
has affirmative action caused reverse discrimination? The establishment of affirmative action was put
into place to create equal rights for racial minorities, ethnic minorities, women, the physically disabled
and those who served in the military. Affirmative Action was born during the civil rights movement to
give special consideration to minorities and women in the work place and education. In order for
businesses and schools to increase their diversity they put in place quota systems. ... Show more

After the implementation of the Philadelphia Plan, legislation was passed at the federal, state and
municipal level implementing affirmative action plans using the Philadelphia Plan as a model. Today,
almost all government affirmative action plans are offshoots of the Philadelphia Plan (Affirmative
Action 2 3). Affirmative Action was not put in place to cause reverse discrimination. In the 1978
Bakke case, (www.infoplease.com) the Supreme Court upheld a decision to outlaw quota systems. In
this case it brought up issues of reverse discrimination against a white man being turned down by
admission to a medical college based on quotas the college had in place to reserve placements in their
college for minorities. The college continued to overlook Bakke because he was a white male and they
had a quota to meet to enroll minorities. With their quota system in place they continue to overlook
Bakke and except less qualified minorities. This lead the Supreme Court to rule this as reverse
discrimination and outlaw the quota system. In an article in the Washington Post called Affirmative
Action Under Attack by Dan Froomkin (1998) he states that, admission officers are put in a position to
hire minorities over qualified whites based on quotas. (paragraph 9) Affirmative action was

Petric Competition Experiment
Introduction Almost all living things deal with competition, including plants. In order to understand
competition, it is first necessary to understand niche. A niche is a species ecological role in a
community (Brooker et al. 2016). Competition occurs when there is an overlap of the niches this
causes the plants to compete for the limited amount of resources. Competition is an interaction where
both of the parties involved are negatively impacted. There are four main types of competition.
Intraspecific competition occurs between individuals within the same species. Another type is
interspecific competition, which occurs between individuals of separate species. The other two types
of competition depends on how the members are competing. One ... Show more content on

Our results support this hypothesis since when garlic was present in the petri dish there was no
growth, compared to the control where there was growth. This was because of the chemical that garlic
releases, allicin (Djurdjevic 2004). For the second experiment, we hypothesized that the garlic bulb
would have the greatest effect on lettuce seed growth. Our results supported this hypothesis since
there was no growth in the lettuce seeds when the bulb was present. This occurred because the bulb
releases allicin which prevents the uptake of organic substances in the seeds (Djurdjevic 2004).
Therefore, we reject the null hypothesis. The data suggests that our alternative hypotheses were
correct. During our experiment, there were a few possible sources of error. One is the presence of
mold growth in some of the petri dishes. This could have skewed some of the data. Another possible
source of error is that since different students measured each seedling sprouts, they could have
measured differently from the next person. This would cause some of the measurements to be either
too low or too high. The third possible source of error is that the parafilm did not completely seal the
petri dishes. This would have caused the petri dish to dry out and would inhibit growth for the lettuce

Strengths And Weaknesses Of Carnival Corporation
Carnival Corporation PLC
Internal Assessment

TIM 350
November 17, 2017 Key Internal Forces
Carnival Corporation plc is a global contender with the title of the world s largest cruise and leisure
travel company. The goal of this assessment is to analyze the strengths and weaknesses with the
financial ratio analysis of the company along with conducting an internal factor evaluation matrix to
view the status of the company in comparison with their top competitor, Royal Caribbean Cruises Ltd.
Top strengths that Carnival Corporation plc has to their advantage would be their strong brand and
major control of the market share. Containing a strong brand portfolio with a total of 10 well known
brands operating about 102 ships. Such brands include Carnival Cruise Lines, Holland America Line,
Princess Cruises and Seabourn in North America; AIDA Cruises, Costa Cruises, Cunard, Ibero
Cruises, P O Cruises (Australia) and P O Cruises (UK) under the Europe, Austrailia Asia segments.
Along with Holland America Princess Alaska Tour and the Canadian Yukon (Olarte, 2017). The
company is also the largest cruise company in the world in terms of cruise passengers with a market
share of about 47% followed by Royal Caribbean Cruises Ltd with a market share of 23%
(Cederholm, 2015).
Example of weaknesses that Carnival Corporation plc has is their safety record. In early 2012, the
Costa Concordia struck off the coast of Isola del Giglio, Italy. In 2013, Carnival Cruise Line s
Triumph reported a fire, which left the ship adrift in the Gulf of Mexico (Carnival Corporation plc
SWOT Analysis, 2016). Among the other cruises, Carnival Cruise Lines have notably been the worse.
In 2009, the Center for Disease Control tracked all major outbreaks, about 56% on Carnival cruise

Mansa Musa Dbq
The journey of Mansa Musa on his hajj made everyone wonder if he went on the journey simply for
his religion, or if there were other underlying factors for his journey. Mansa Musa traveled along his
journey through Africa for his religion. Mansa Musa was a muslim Mali empire who went on a trek
through Africa to complete one of the five pillars, which his religion obligated him to do.
Mansa Musa traveled North to Taghaza. Taghaza had no good factors about it. (Document C) No one
lives in Taghaza except for the slaves of Masufa. The slaves of Masufa were hard workers. Mansa
Musa traveled through this village, knowing there were less fortunate people there, and proceeded to

Ilu Kumari Department of Biotechnology,IIT ROORKEE,ROORKEE
Abstract
Chromium which is a chemical element ,a metal,is toxic pollutant .Nowdays these are found to be
present in soils due to many human activities. It affects plant system and microorganisms that are
present in soil as well.Phytoremediation has emerged as a process to minimize or eliminate chromium
from chromium stressed soils, but this process takes long time.So when plant growth promoting
bacteria( PGPB) is used with this process as bioinoculant then it results into increased plant growth
and higher chromium reducing effects.PGPB via root architecture modification increases chromium
uptake,secretes metal

Advantages And Disadvantages Of Polyepoxide
Epoxy or polyepoxide is a cross linking thermosetting polymer that cures (polymerizes and cross
links) when mixed with a hardener or curing agent. Most common epoxy resins are formed by the
polymerization between epichlorohydrin and bisphenol A. Dr. S.O. Greenlee of United States and Dr.
Pierre Castan of Switzerland were in the year 1936, first jointly synthesized bisphenol A based epoxy
resins.
Epoxy resin is most widely used as a matrix for advanced structural composites due to their superior
thermal, electrical and mechanical properties; chemical resistance and dimensional stability. Epoxy is
also used as surface coatings and most widely used as industrial finishes and provides flexibility,
superior adhesion and corrosion resistance when ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The matrix used in this study was an epoxy polymer based on bisphenol A resin (Araldite LY 556) and
an aromatic hardener (Araldite HY 932). Weight percentages ranging from 0.0225 to 0.15 wt% of the
pristine CVD grown [50] MWCNTs (diameter 5 10 nm, length a few microns) were first dispersed in
ethanol in an ultrasonic bath at room temperature for 1 h. The solution was then mixed with the resin
and stirred for 1 h at 2000 rpm at 80°C. Ethanol was evaporated in a vacuum oven at 80°C for 1 h, and
the mixtures were stirred again for 1 h at 2000 rpm. After adding the hardener, the mixtures were
stirred at 2000 rpm for 15 min. The resulting epoxy nanocomposite was hardened in a vacuum oven at
140°C for 8 h. Composite sample containing 0.025% of CNTs in the epoxy resin show a remarkable
improvement in the dispersion of CNTs in the epoxy resin due to ultrasound exposure. At these lower
filler fractions, neither the processing behaviour (viscosity) of the matrix nor the surface finish of the
samples was adversely

The Last Example Of Situational Ethics (TWD)
Imagine there is an out of control train careening toward a fork in the tracks. Stranded on the left route
are ten strangers. Stranded on the right route is a good friend. You are standing by the lever deciding
which route the train will take. Who do you choose to save? This is an example of how a situation
might change the way a person reacts. If all the people in danger of being hit by the train were
strangers, it is likely the person by the lever would choose to save the larger group on the left.
However, the fact that a good friend is in danger might persuade this person to choose to save the one
person on the right, over the larger group. This is an example where a situation changes a choice a
person might make. Situational Ethics is ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This situation will force them to have to make a choice that would never be made in a normal
situation. Consider these normal life experiences as simple examples; running a red light might be
unethical unless you were experiencing an emergency and rushing someone to the hospital, breaking a
window would not be something a person normally does to their home, but would be considered fine
if the home was on fire. Ethical behavior is the way people want to behave, and the way they are
expected to behave. Fletcher s situational ethics theory explains that difficult situations sometimes
affect the behavior and ultimately the outcome when trying to make an ethical decision. When
situations are about surviving, ethical behavior is pushed aside and survival of the fittest becomes the
new standard. This means a decision to be made from two bad choices can have no other outcome
than an unethical one, which could be argued is situationally

Agamemnon Passions
Everyone is going to die. This is no secret to the audience of the Greek play Agamemnon. Rather than
surprising us with the murders that befall at the hands of vengeance, the Greek playwright uses this
common story to display the underlying theme that one must first suffer before they can reach the
truth. To understand the significance behind the story of Agamemnon, one must understand the
passions and how they relate to the human person, Zeus s law of suffering into truth, and Aeschylus s
motives for writing Agamemnon and how he reflects Catholic teaching.
First, it is important to consider the detailed description of the passions that is provided by Thomas
Aquinas in My Way of Life. He describes the passions to be movements of the sense appetite towards
bodily goods and away from bodily evils (MWL 189). They move in a cyclical pattern that begins
with an inclination toward a good, then a movement is made to secure the good, and finally the ...

They are based on instinct and the need to survive. In humans, the passions are subject to the control
of the reason and will with the intention to lead man toward a moral good. (MWL 195). The intellect
and the will help to guide the passions toward the good. However, the issue in Agamemnon is that the
characters passions have become like those of animals, and their passions are not being controlled by
their rational appetite, the will. The kings of birds to kings of the beaking prows, one black, one with a
blaze of silver skimmed the palace spearhand right and swooping lower, all could see, plunged their
claws in a hare, a mother bursting with unborn young the babies spilling quick spurts of blood cut off
the race just dashing into life! (Agamemnon 118 124). This analogy shows how the impulsiveness of
the kings decision to bring vengeance on Troy can be compared to an eagle attacking a pregnant

Gibbons V. Ogden. Gibbons
Gibbons v. Ogden Gibbons v. Ogden was a landmark decision in which the United States Supreme
Court held that power to regulate interstate commerce. It was given to congress by the commerce
clause of the constitution. It was led by Chief Justice John Marshall. The debate in Gibbons concerned
contending cases of adversary steamship establishments. The condition of New York gave Aaron
Ogden a select permit to work steamboat ships between New Jersey and New York City on the
Hudson River. Thomas Gibbons, another steamboat administrator, ran two ships along the same
course. Ogden looked for an order against Gibbons in a New York state court, asserting that the state
had issued him elite rights to work the course. Accordingly, Gibbons guaranteed he had the privilege
to work on the course in accordance with a 1793 demonstration of Congress directing waterfront
business. The New York court found for Ogden and requested Gibbons to stop working his
steamships; on bid, the New York Supreme Court avowed the request. Gibbons spoke to the U.S.
Preeminent Court, which surveyed the case in 1824. John Marshall ruled for Gibbons, holding that
New York s selective award to Ogden disregarded the government authorizing demonstration of 1793.
In coming to its choice, the Court deciphered the Commerce Clause of the U.S. Constitution
surprisingly. The proviso peruses that Congress should have energy to manage trade among the few
States. According to the Court, trade included articles in

Reasons For Choosing Dw Sports
My reason for choosing DW Sports is due to that fact that it is an award winning Health club and
Retail business across the whole of the UK Northern Ireland. DW Sports also offers a variety of high
class products and they are also in conjunction with top brands like Adidas, Nike, Asics, New Balance,
Under Armour, Canterbury and many more. DW Sports is serious about becoming the UK s number 1
go to retailer for online sporting goods.
My reason for selecting JD Sports is due to the fact that JD Sport has long been established as the
leading UK specialised multiple retailer of fashionable branded and own brand sports and casual wear.
The group now has over 400 stores and is continuing to grow. Therefore I feel like both websites
would be good to evaluate and in return get ideas of ways to make my website a success when
creating it.
I will start off by evaluating my first company website which is DW Sports. Firstly I am going to talk
about the colour scheme DW Sports have used. The overall colour scheme of the website is red, white
and black and these are the colours which are present within the company logo. I personally feel like
this was intentional to make their website and their products easily identifiable as their own. I feel like
the black background was a good idea as the red compliments it and the writing is white and quite
large therefore it stands out and it is clear to read.
The overall layout of the whole website I feel is simple while professional looking.

Al Capone Essay 11
Al Capone is one of the most recognized names in American history. Capone ran the City of Chicago
with illegal activities. He appeared many times on newspapers all over the country. Every one of us
has heard of Al Capone, but most of us don t k now the story behind him. What made him to be the
most feared gangster in the city of Chicago? How did this kid from a rough neighborhood and no
money grow up to have $60,000,000? I ve always been fascinated with organized crime but had never
been taught anything in school about it. This report gave me the chance to explore something
interesting and also educational. The more I researched Al Capone, the more I wanted to learn about
him. He may look like an innocent Italian at a glance, but he has ... Show more content on

One night he made a remark about the sister of Frank Galluciano, and Galluciano slashed Capone s
face with a pocketknife, leaving three large scars on the left side of his face. For much of his criminal
career, newspapers would call Capone by the hated name Scarface . On December 18, 1918, Capone
was wed at the age of 19, to a 21 year old Irish girl named Mae Coughlin. A short time later Albert
Francis Capone was born. At the same time this was going on, in New York Johnny Torrio moved his
operations to Chicago. Torrio s prospects in New York looked dim because Capone was indicted for
two murders. He was released when a witness lost her memory, and evidence suddenly vanished from
the court. Al Capone knew that he had Johnny Papa Torrio to thank for this. A few days later, Capone
got into a scruff with another man and killed him. Rather than being indicted again, Capone called
Torrio and received an invitation to move to Chicago. So he packed up his wife and child and did just
that.
Upon arrival in Chicago, Capone was given a job as a bartender at Torrio s newest club, The Four
Deuces. Capone was known as an aggressive and hospitalized most of the drunks he evicted. Men
were hospitalized with broken arms, broken legs, skull fractures, and on one occasion even blood
poisoning because Capone bit through the skin directly into the man s artery. Capone was repeatedly
arrested for assault, but was always released thanks to Torrio s police

The Laughing Man by J.D. Salinger
J.D. Salinger (Jerome Davis Salinger) was said by some people to be one of the best American
Authors of past century. Salinger s works reflects the many experiences he had as a child. One of the
more common focuses tends to be his fascination with protecting the innocence in children.
Salinger was born in New York City an attended public school until he switched to the exclusive
McBurney School. In attending this school, Salinger was called an academically unexceptional
student . After this he was sent to the Valley Forge Military Academy. During his time there he added
to the literary magazine and yearbook. After this he went on to NYU for a short amount of time.
Teddy, a short story that details a young boys life, is an example of Salinger s struggle with the
corruption of a child s mind by the pursuit of knowledge. In this story Teddy McArdle is an extremely
smart boy. Similarly to the other stories in Nine Stories, this one also is about the loss of childhood
innocence and trying to get it back, even though it may be too late. Just like the others, this one also
features an adult and child relationship/interaction. Like Salinger, Teddy is interested in eastern
philosophy and believes that he has lived thousands of lives through incarnation. He also believes that
at one point in time he was very close to enlightenment. He said that the reason he didn t reach
enlightenment was because he fell in love with a girl. In his next life he said he didn t want that to
happen

I Never Thought Being Chosen As Captain For My High School...
I never thought being chosen as captain, for my high school robotics team, would make me more
responsible and learn to rely on others. The experience of leading a team, changed not only how
interact with people, but also how I handle stressful situations. Becoming the captain of the team
taught me that I need to take not only responsibility of my actions, but the actions of those who I lead,
how to be a proper leader, and when a stressful or difficult situation comes up how one should weather
the storm.
I have always been interested in robot and robotics, and my freshman year of high school, I was given
an opportunity to be part of a club that would build robots. Over the course of my time of high school
career, it would grow from a club into a class, my junior year. We were making strides that year, we
eventually made it to state and fell flat, but being a rookie team it was a huge accomplishment. My
senior year, Mr. Carr, the robotics coach, wanted to up the ante, he was yearned to be invited to super
regionals, and sharing his ambition, with the team, we did as well.
As we waited for the competition, I started to learn how to write proper code, in RobotC, a C based
programming language. I had already learned how to read and comprehend the language, but we our
lead programmer had graduated the previous year. Mr. Carr saw the aptitude I had in programming
and pushed me to learn how to write the code. I learned how to write in RobotC in eight weeks.
Eventually I would be

How Did The Intolerable Acts Cause The American Revolution
The Intolerable Acts, without a doubt, caused the most unrest in the colonies, therefore provoking the
start of the American Revolution. In 1774, Parliament passed the Coercive Acts in reaction to the
Boston Tea Party, where the Sons of Liberty dressed as Native Americans and smashed 340 chests of
tea and dumped it all into the Boston Harbor. The Coercive Acts were called the Intolerable Acts by
the colonists because they felt that they could not tolerate these new laws. Firstly, the British
suspended all Massachusetts town meetings and the Massachusetts legislature, basically putting the
colony under military rule. This angered the colonists because they didn t even have the right to
present their ideas to others anymore. Because of their reactions, the Intolerable Acts were the most ...

The colonists were furious at this because they could no longer receive imports from Britain and other
countries they may have been trading with at this time. The Intolerable Acts not only took the
colonists rights, but their imports, too. Plus, the Boston Harbor was one of the busiest and wealthiest
ports in the colonies, so hundreds lost their jobs upon its closure. This helped spark the American
Revolution because colonists begin an all out rebellion against the inconsiderate British king and his
laws that were imposed upon them with neither their consent nor opinion. Lastly, a British official
who committed a crime in the American colonies could hold their trial in Britain in front of a more
lenient judge and jury, as stated in the Coercive Acts. The colonists found this unjust because if the
unwelcomed interlopers could hold more merciful trials, then why couldn t they? They were the actual
residents of the colonies, so they should have as many rights as those who disrupt their daily life,
shouldn t they? If a colonist committed a crime, then they d have to hold trial in the colonies, so
shouldn t the British, who had been sent to rule over and live in the

  • 2. Final Design For The Ball Sorting Device Essay Final Design Our final design for the ball sorting device is composed of 5 primary components: Ramp, separation device, dome, base, and collection device. Separation device: The need for a separation device came to attention as interference between the balls on the ramp as well as the dome was observed. To avoid interference there needed to be space between the balls. The separation device is a hollow, circular cylinder with rods inserted horizontally (parallel to the radius and perpendicular to the height) from one side and out throughout the other, but at different angles, with vertical spacing between the rods. This would basically function like a pegboard; As the balls fall into the cylinder they will collide with the road and will fall onto either side of the rod, and continue falling until they hit another rod. Each time they hit a rod there will be a ½ probability for the balls to tilt towards either side. A total of of rods were inserted. A cardboard tube was used as the cylinder and chopsticks as the rods. The materials chosen were cheap, lightweight, and strong enough. This introduces randomness in the system as well the slowing of the balls falling so that space between the balls are created. The balls then enter the ramp. Ramp: The ramp is the source of energy for the balls. Energy here is in the form of gravity, as the start of the ramp is elevated to and it provides potential energy using the formula, where m is the mass of the individual balls provided, h as ... In most cases they perceived themselves as defenders of equal economic opportunity, even though they sometimes put their own interests before those of the people. They also thought of themselves as guardians of political democracy, while at the same time using class differences to their advantage and emotionalized speeches, lacking real intellectual merit, to stir support. Jacksonian Democrats felt that they were the protectors of the Constitution and of individual liberties but many times they put their rivalry with the Northeastern industry and Whig politics before these things. While Jacksonians ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The case Charles River Bridge v. Warren Bridge decided that a charter given a person or group to do a service does not allow that group to have complete rights over this service. This decision supports the Jacksonian Democracy ideas that the rights of the community are more important than the rights of business (H). However, it is also important to know that Taney was elected by Jackson, and his decision, well supporting economic equality, also set a precedent for states intervention in commerce. The Jacksonian Democrats were very important in the revolutions in political democracy that took place during this period. During this period universal white male suffrage took place and was the first step towards the revolution of the common man in politics. Also, Jackson s acceptance and support of the two party system helped create a more democratic America in which people with similar views could unite in their support of a singular candidate. Many working men of this time period had felt they had been taken advantage of and misrepresented by tyrannical aristocrats who treated them poorly (A). Jackson used this to his advantage with emotionalized speeches exploiting class differences. However, it should be said that during this time period the amount of voters increased dramatically which means that more Americans were involved in American politics (D). Essay on Aristotle s Notion on Eudaimonia and Virtue In Aristotle s Nicomachean Ethics he accounts that humans should make sacrifices and should ultimately aim first and foremost for their own happiness . In the paper I will argue that it is really in a person s best interest to be virtuous . I will do this by first describing Aristotle s notion on both eudaimonia and virtue , as well as highlighting the intimate relationship between the two . Secondly I will talk about the human role in society. Thirdly I will describe the intrinsic tie between human actions . Finally I will share the importance of performing activities virtuously . A person is not born with virtue , but by nature is capable of achieving and perfecting virtue . The way in which a person habituates virtue is by practicing virtuous acts and initiating virtue at a young age . Nature is praised in each of the three poems but all have very different meanings and perspectives on nature. Hopkins Poem Pied Beauty explores nature s beauty. It s described as the perfect place. Seamus Heaney s Blackberry Picking also presents the beauty of nature however in contrast to Hughes and Hopkins, Heaney s poem explores man s relationship with nature as a resource and how man exploits it and becomes greedy. The poem itself is about when Heaney was much younger and would go blackberry picking. It begins very positively but the second stanza ends the poem negatively containing sorrow and regret. The blackberries are described as a glossy purple clot suggesting their attractive beauty. The clot does also represent bloodshed. The word glossy shows the shiny surface of the skin and clot is describing the big juicy size of it creating a lust for picking it. Man s greed is a dominant theme throughout the poem as the speaker has a lust for picking as the blackberry s flesh was sweet . The speaker wanted more of the fruit because they were so nice but soon the sweet flesh turned sour in the second stanza, which creates disillusionment and unhappiness. Both Pied Beauty and Blackberry Picking use metaphors and similes to convey nature s beauty by comparing two things. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

William Shakespeare introduced the genre and perfected it when he wrote A Midsummer Night s Dream (Bevington). A Midsummer Night s Dream is one of the most popular plays written by Shakespeare. The Outsider The Outsider Albert Camus Albert Camus presents ideas of identity and the human condition in his classic novel The Outsider, through his exploration of gender and cultural representations as well as an insight into absurdum and existentialism. These concepts of identity and the human condition reflect on the society in which the novella has been set, demonstrating how women, those of other cultures and those who are considered to be different are represented. The culture references in the novella show how culture is represented in society. Those in control leave the culture that is not in control isolated and divided. Death plays a major role in the novella The Outsider. The story both begins and concludes with a death, creating the idea that death is all a part of the human condition; we all die in the end, which reveals Camus own ideologies of absurdism. Death is explored through the structure of the novella, through the parallels between the death of Meursault s mother in the beginning and the lead up to his execution in the end. When Meursault s, he shows what most would consider an unusual reaction to the death of a love one and accepts it. The Relation between Pearl and Nature in The Scarlet Letter In Nathaniel Hawthorne s work, The Scarlet Letter, nature plays a very symbolic role. Throughout the book, nature is incorporated into the story line. One example of this is with the character of Pearl. Pearl is very different than all the other characters due to her special relationship with Nature. Hawthorne personifies Nature as sympathetic towards sins against the puritan way of life. Hester s sin causes Nature to accept Pearl. First it is necessary to examine how nature is identified with sin against the Puritan way of life. The first example of this is found in the first chapter regarding the rosebush at the prison door. This rosebush is located on one side ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This rosebush symbolizes the sympathy of Nature towards the very people Puritan society has condemned. The idea illustrated by the rosebush can therefore be applied to the specific character of Pearl. Because Pearl was expelled from Puritan society Nature sympathizes with her. Nature s sympathy and partiality with Pearl can be seen with the sunshine in the forest. Pearl attempts to catch the sunshine and according to Hawthorn Pearl . . . did actually catch the sunshine . . . The light lingered about the lonely child, as if glad of such a playmate . . . (146). Hawthorn describes another sign of acceptance as the great black forest . . . became the playmate of the lonely infant (163). Hawthorne eventually declares that The truth seems to be . . . that the mother forest, and these wild things which it nourished, all recognized a kindred wildness in the human child (163). All natural things and Nature accept this little girl who has been thrust out of Puritan society. A way to strengthen this point is to show Nature s reaction to Hester. The strange thing is that the sunshine runs from Hester even though it was her sin against the Puritan laws that produced Pearl who is accepted by the sunshine or Nature. In fact [the sunshine] runs away and hides itself, because it is afraid of something on [Hester s] bosom (146), the Scarlet Letter, which represents Hester s acceptance of Puritan law and ... The establishment of affirmative action was put into place to create equal rights for racial minorities, ethnic minorities, women, the physically disabled and those who served in the military. In the 1978 Bakke case, (www.infoplease.com) the Supreme Court upheld a decision to outlaw quota systems. In this case it brought up issues of reverse discrimination against a white man being turned down by admission to a medical college based on quotas the college had in place to reserve placements in their college for minorities. The college continued to overlook Bakke because he was a white male and they had a quota to meet to enroll minorities. With their quota system in place they continue to overlook Bakke and except less qualified minorities. This lead the Supreme Court to rule this as reverse discrimination and outlaw the quota system. A niche is a species ecological role in a community (Brooker et al. 2016). Competition is an interaction where both of the parties involved are negatively impacted. There are four main types of competition. Our results support this hypothesis since when garlic was present in the petri dish there was no growth, compared to the control where there was growth. This was because of the chemical that garlic releases, allicin (Djurdjevic 2004). For the second experiment, we hypothesized that the garlic bulb would have the greatest effect on lettuce seed growth. Our results supported this hypothesis since there was no growth in the lettuce seeds when the bulb was present. This occurred because the bulb releases allicin which prevents the uptake of organic substances in the seeds (Djurdjevic 2004). Therefore, we reject the null hypothesis. The data suggests that our alternative hypotheses were correct. During our experiment, there were a few possible sources of error. One is the presence of mold growth in some of the petri dishes. This could have skewed some of the data. Another possible source of error is that since different students measured each seedling sprouts, they could have measured differently from the next person. This would cause some of the measurements to be either too low or too high. The third possible source of error is that the parafilm did not completely seal the petri dishes. Containing a strong brand portfolio with a total of 10 well known brands operating about 102 ships. Such brands include Carnival Cruise Lines, Holland America Line, Princess Cruises and Seabourn in North America; AIDA Cruises, Costa Cruises, Cunard, Ibero Cruises, P O Cruises (Australia) and P O Cruises (UK) under the Europe, Austrailia Asia segments. Along with Holland America Princess Alaska Tour and the Canadian Yukon (Olarte, 2017). The company is also the largest cruise company in the world in terms of cruise passengers with a market share of about 47% followed by Royal Caribbean Cruises Ltd with a market share of 23% (Cederholm, 2015). Example of weaknesses that Carnival Corporation plc has is their safety record. In early 2012, the Costa Concordia struck off the coast of Isola del Giglio, Italy. In 2013, Carnival Cruise Line s Triumph reported a fire, which left the ship adrift in the Gulf of Mexico (Carnival Corporation plc SWOT Analysis, 2016). Among the other cruises, Carnival Cruise Lines have notably been the worse. In 2009, the Center for Disease Control tracked all major outbreaks, about 56% on Carnival cruise lines compared to a 48% average market share from 2009 2011. The company is also accounted for worse safety record for persons lost at sea. Since 2000, about 179 disappearances happened with Carnival Cruise Line alone (Levin , B., Jones, J., Slade, T., 2012). • 25. The Last Example Of Situational Ethics (TWD) Imagine there is an out of control train careening toward a fork in the tracks. Stranded on the left route are ten strangers. Stranded on the right route is a good friend. You are standing by the lever deciding which route the train will take. Who do you choose to save? This is an example of how a situation might change the way a person reacts. If all the people in danger of being hit by the train were strangers, it is likely the person by the lever would choose to save the larger group on the left. However, the fact that a good friend is in danger might persuade this person to choose to save the one person on the right, over the larger group. Ethical behavior is the way people want to behave, and the way they are expected to behave. Fletcher s situational ethics theory explains that difficult situations sometimes affect the behavior and ultimately the outcome when trying to make an ethical decision. When situations are about surviving, ethical behavior is pushed aside and survival of the fittest becomes the new standard. This means a decision to be made from two bad choices can have no other outcome than an unethical one, which could be argued is situationally ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 26. Agamemnon Passions Everyone is going to die. This is no secret to the audience of the Greek play Agamemnon. Rather than surprising us with the murders that befall at the hands of vengeance, the Greek playwright uses this common story to display the underlying theme that one must first suffer before they can reach the truth. To understand the significance behind the story of Agamemnon, one must understand the passions and how they relate to the human person, Zeus s law of suffering into truth, and Aeschylus s motives for writing Agamemnon and how he reflects Catholic teaching. First, it is important to consider the detailed description of the passions that is provided by Thomas Aquinas in My Way of Life. He describes the passions to be movements of the sense appetite towards bodily goods and away from bodily evils (MWL 189). They move in a cyclical pattern that begins with an inclination toward a good, then a movement is made to secure the good, and finally the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... They are based on instinct and the need to survive. In humans, the passions are subject to the control of the reason and will with the intention to lead man toward a moral good. (MWL 195). The intellect and the will help to guide the passions toward the good. However, the issue in Agamemnon is that the characters passions have become like those of animals, and their passions are not being controlled by their rational appetite, the will. The kings of birds to kings of the beaking prows, one black, one with a blaze of silver skimmed the palace spearhand right and swooping lower, all could see, plunged their claws in a hare, a mother bursting with unborn young the babies spilling quick spurts of blood cut off the race just dashing into life! • 27. Gibbons V. Ogden. Gibbons Gibbons v. Ogden Gibbons v. Ogden was a landmark decision in which the United States Supreme Court held that power to regulate interstate commerce. It was given to congress by the commerce clause of the constitution. It was led by Chief Justice John Marshall. The debate in Gibbons concerned contending cases of adversary steamship establishments. The condition of New York gave Aaron Ogden a select permit to work steamboat ships between New Jersey and New York City on the Hudson River. Thomas Gibbons, another steamboat administrator, ran two ships along the same course. Ogden looked for an order against Gibbons in a New York state court, asserting that the state had issued him elite rights to work the course. Accordingly, Gibbons guaranteed he had the privilege to work on the course in accordance with a 1793 demonstration of Congress directing waterfront business. The New York court found for Ogden and requested Gibbons to stop working his steamships; on bid, the New York Supreme Court avowed the request. Gibbons spoke to the U.S. Preeminent Court, which surveyed the case in 1824. John Marshall ruled for Gibbons, holding that New York s selective award to Ogden disregarded the government authorizing demonstration of 1793. In coming to its choice, the Court deciphered the Commerce Clause of the U.S. Constitution surprisingly. The proviso peruses that Congress should have energy to manage trade among the few States. The overall colour scheme of the website is red, white and black and these are the colours which are present within the company logo. A short time later Albert Francis Capone was born. At the same time this was going on, in New York Johnny Torrio moved his operations to Chicago. Torrio s prospects in New York looked dim because Capone was indicted for two murders. He was released when a witness lost her memory, and evidence suddenly vanished from the court. Al Capone knew that he had Johnny Papa Torrio to thank for this. A few days later, Capone got into a scruff with another man and killed him. • 30. The Laughing Man by J.D. Salinger J.D. Salinger (Jerome Davis Salinger) was said by some people to be one of the best American Authors of past century. Salinger s works reflects the many experiences he had as a child. One of the more common focuses tends to be his fascination with protecting the innocence in children. Salinger was born in New York City an attended public school until he switched to the exclusive McBurney School. In attending this school, Salinger was called an academically unexceptional student . After this he was sent to the Valley Forge Military Academy. During his time there he added to the literary magazine and yearbook. After this he went on to NYU for a short amount of time. Teddy, a short story that details a young boys life, is an example of Salinger s struggle with the corruption of a child s mind by the pursuit of knowledge. In this story Teddy McArdle is an extremely smart boy. Similarly to the other stories in Nine Stories, this one also is about the loss of childhood innocence and trying to get it back, even though it may be too late. Just like the others, this one also features an adult and child relationship/interaction. Like Salinger, Teddy is interested in eastern philosophy and believes that he has lived thousands of lives through incarnation. He also believes that at one point in time he was very close to enlightenment. He said that the reason he didn t reach enlightenment was because he fell in love with a girl. I never thought being chosen as captain, for my high school robotics team, would make me more responsible and learn to rely on others. The experience of leading a team, changed not only how interact with people, but also how I handle stressful situations. Becoming the captain of the team taught me that I need to take not only responsibility of my actions, but the actions of those who I lead, how to be a proper leader, and when a stressful or difficult situation comes up how one should weather the storm. I have always been interested in robot and robotics, and my freshman year of high school, I was given an opportunity to be part of a club that would build robots. Over the course of my time of high school career, it would grow from a club into a class, my junior year. We were making strides that year, we eventually made it to state and fell flat, but being a rookie team it was a huge accomplishment. My senior year, Mr. Carr, the robotics coach, wanted to up the ante, he was yearned to be invited to super regionals, and sharing his ambition, with the team, we did as well. As we waited for the competition, I started to learn how to write proper code, in RobotC, a C based programming language. I had already learned how to read and comprehend the language, but we our lead programmer had graduated the previous year. How Did The Intolerable Acts Cause The American Revolution The Intolerable Acts, without a doubt, caused the most unrest in the colonies, therefore provoking the start of the American Revolution. In 1774, Parliament passed the Coercive Acts in reaction to the Boston Tea Party, where the Sons of Liberty dressed as Native Americans and smashed 340 chests of tea and dumped it all into the Boston Harbor. The Coercive Acts were called the Intolerable Acts by the colonists because they felt that they could not tolerate these new laws. This helped spark the American Revolution because colonists begin an all out rebellion against the inconsiderate British king and his laws that were imposed upon them with neither their consent nor opinion. Lastly, a British official who committed a crime in the American colonies could hold their trial in Britain in front of a more lenient judge and jury, as stated in the Coercive Acts.
