Our final design for the ball sorting device is composed of 5 primary components: Ramp, separation
device, dome, base, and collection device.
Separation device:
The need for a separation device came to attention as interference between the balls on the ramp as
well as the dome was observed. To avoid interference there needed to be space between the balls. The
separation device is a hollow, circular cylinder with rods inserted horizontally (parallel to the radius
and perpendicular to the height) from one side and out throughout the other, but at different angles,
with vertical spacing between the rods. This would basically function like a pegboard; As the balls fall
into the cylinder they will collide with the road and will fall onto either side of the rod, and continue
falling until they hit another rod. Each time they hit a rod there will be a ½ probability for the balls to
tilt towards either side. A total of of rods were inserted. A cardboard tube was used as the cylinder and
chopsticks as the rods. The materials chosen were cheap, lightweight, and strong enough. This
introduces randomness in the system as well the slowing of the balls falling so that space between the

Our results support this hypothesis since when garlic was present in the petri dish there was no
growth, compared to the control where there was growth. This was because of the chemical that garlic
releases, allicin (Djurdjevic 2004). For the second experiment, we hypothesized that the garlic bulb
would have the greatest effect on lettuce seed growth. Our results supported this hypothesis since
there was no growth in the lettuce seeds when the bulb was present. This occurred because the bulb
releases allicin which prevents the uptake of organic substances in the seeds (Djurdjevic 2004).

travel company. The goal of this assessment is to analyze the strengths and weaknesses with the
financial ratio analysis of the company along with conducting an internal factor evaluation matrix to
view the status of the company in comparison with their top competitor, Royal Caribbean Cruises Ltd.
Top strengths that Carnival Corporation plc has to their advantage would be their strong brand and
major control of the market share. Containing a strong brand portfolio with a total of 10 well known
brands operating about 102 ships. Such brands include Carnival Cruise Lines, Holland America Line,
Princess Cruises and Seabourn in North America; AIDA Cruises, Costa Cruises, Cunard, Ibero
Cruises, P O Cruises (Australia) and P O Cruises (UK) under the Europe, Austrailia Asia segments.

about the colour scheme DW Sports have used. The overall colour scheme of the website is red, white
and black and these are the colours which are present within the company logo. I personally feel like
this was intentional to make their website and their products easily identifiable as their own. I feel like
the black background was a good idea as the red compliments it and the writing is white and quite
large therefore it stands out and it is clear to read.

J.D. Salinger (Jerome Davis Salinger) was said by some people to be one of the best American
Authors of past century. Salinger s works reflects the many experiences he had as a child. One of the
more common focuses tends to be his fascination with protecting the innocence in children.
Salinger was born in New York City an attended public school until he switched to the exclusive
McBurney School. In attending this school, Salinger was called an academically unexceptional
student . After this he was sent to the Valley Forge Military Academy. During his time there he added
to the literary magazine and yearbook. After this he went on to NYU for a short amount of time.
Teddy, a short story that details a young boys life, is an example of Salinger s struggle with the
corruption of a child s mind by the pursuit of knowledge. In this story Teddy McArdle is an extremely
smart boy. Similarly to the other stories in Nine Stories, this one also is about the loss of childhood
innocence and trying to get it back, even though it may be too late. Just like the others, this one also

I Never Thought Being Chosen As Captain For My High School...
I never thought being chosen as captain, for my high school robotics team, would make me more
responsible and learn to rely on others. The experience of leading a team, changed not only how
interact with people, but also how I handle stressful situations. Becoming the captain of the team
taught me that I need to take not only responsibility of my actions, but the actions of those who I lead,
how to be a proper leader, and when a stressful or difficult situation comes up how one should weather
the storm.
I have always been interested in robot and robotics, and my freshman year of high school, I was given

start of the American Revolution. In 1774, Parliament passed the Coercive Acts in reaction to the
